The year is 1750. You have come to power in your country and must make your mark on history. Your goal: Dominance. Your tools: War, Diplomacy, Subterfuge. Conquer territory, dominate trade routes, craft alliances, control resources, and watch your empire rise.

Before this RP begins, a few rules:
Don’t be a jerk. Don’t godmod, don’t metagame, don’t one liner post in the IC thread. This is supposed to be fun. Second, this a realistic situation. No machine guns until 1885. No Gatling guns until 1862. No submarines until 1770. Make sure that your technology is period accurate. If you have bolt action rifles in 1791, you are wrong. If you have M-16s in the 19th Century, you are wrong.
Territory claims will be up to the Co-OPs. A good rule of thumb is to keep them moderately sized. If it is an entire continent, then it won’t work. The exception to that rule is Australia, since it has a low population.
Be realistic in your population claims. South Korea will not get a billion people and Malta won’t get a population like the United States. Use the Real Life population of your claim. Google it, Bing it, find a book about it. Just make it as close to the RL population as possible. Your military population should not exceed 10% of your total population. How you divide that military is up to you, but it should not be more than 10%. Once you are accepted, you can increase the size of your forces through Conscription, though that is not recommended due to economics.
Military personnel are subject to morale. If they suffer heavy casualties in a charge, they will be suffering from low morale. On the other hand, if they are winning they will have high morale.
When fighting wars or making treaties with other players, send them a NS telegram, letting them know and asking for information. If it is a war, tell them where your invading army is and ask if there are defending forces in that area. That is where the war will start. Do not make one liner posts and remember that conquest takes time. You can’t say “Britain marches 1,000,000 men into Russia, seizing it.” That is not only a godmod, that is also completely impossible. It is Russia and Britain can’t just march into Russia. Wars in this RP will require extensive thought. With treaties and alliances, send a telegram informing the other player of your intentions. Then mention them in the treaty post, stating your offers/demands and requesting their answer. NO SECRET TREATIES!
Resources are important. The following resources are the most important immediately: Wood, Cotton, Tobacco, Sugar, Coffee, and Tea. Later it will be Oil, Uranium, Steel, Lithium, and other strategic elements like Titanium and Tungsten. When beginning trade, telegram the targeted nation or nations and tell them of your intent. Then post to the thread what you offer and what you demand.
I almost forgot. You can also use telegrams to play two rivals against each other. If they go to war, they will likely be severely weakened and you can expand into their territory. This is probably the hardest thing to do, as it will require a significant amount of thought.

Formed on 4 July, 1700, The Confederate States of America spent 50 years fighting its way across center of North America. This history of warfare led to the CSA constructing a powerful military force, comprised of three main branches.

The Army

The Confederate States Army, also known as the Confederate Army or the CSA, is a large force of 14,745,600 men. The army is divided into 10 Army Groups, each of 1,474,560 men. 5 of these Army Groups are on Active Duty at any 1 time. They rotate every year, with a full rotation occurring every 5 years, meaning that every Army Group spends 5 years on Active Duty and 5 on Reserve Duty. Thus the minimum term of enlistment is 10 years, to allow for at least one full rotation. Confederate soldiers are well equipped and well armed. A grey cotton coat in the style of a British redcoat was worn over a white linen shirt. Grey wool trousers were also worn, with suspenders over the undershirt. Black leather shoes, white gaiters, and a black tri-corn hat were worn to complete the uniform. A grey wool great coat would be worn in the winter or when it rained. Every soldier was issued a Brown Bess musket, a socket bayonet, and two leather ammunition pouches, each with forty paper cartridges filled with powder and a .58 caliber lead ball. Insignia are identical to British Army of the time.
The organization of the army was quite simple. A line infantry company consisted of 100 infantry men. Line infantry served as the backbone of the army. A Ranger company consisted of 100 men armed with Kentucky Long Rifles in place of the Brown Bess and no bayonets. They served as skirmish troops and scouts. The third infantry formation was the Grenadiers, who carried a dozen 2lber grenades in their second pouch with a flint and striker to light the oil coated fuse. Grenadier companies consisted of 100 men. Cavalry consisted of Lancers, Dragoons, Light Dragoons, and Horse. Lancer companies had 100 men armed with lances. Dragoon companies had 100 men armed with Brown Bess muskets and they were trained to fight dismounted. Light Dragoon companies had 100 men who carried Brown Bess carbines and also fought dismounted. Horse companies had 100 men who were armed with cavalry sabers and fought while mounted.
The artillery was organized around the battery. Each gun, be it a 3lber field gun or 24lber howitzer, had a crew of 5 men and two horses. 5 guns made a battery and four batteries made a company. Two types of artillery existed: Field Artillery and Horse Artillery. Foot Artillery pieces tended to weigh more and possess greater range than Horse Artillery, which was capable of being packed up, and relocated far more quickly.
Ten companies formed a regiment. Twelve regiments formed a division. A cavalry division had 2 Lancer Regiments, 2 Horse Regiments, 2 Light Dragoon Regiments, 4 Dragoon Regiments, and 2 regiments of Horse Artillery. An Infantry division had 6 Line Regiments, 2 Ranger Regiments, 2 Grenadier Regiments, and 2 regiments of Field Artillery.

The Navy

The Naval forces of the Confederate States, also referred to as the CSN or Confederate Navy, was the primary naval arm of the Confederacy. The Navy comprised of 25 Heavy First Rates, 31 First Rates, 32 Second Rates, 34 Third Rates, 49 Fourth Rates, 64 Fifth Rates, 61 Sixth Rates, 64 Rocket Ships (A Brig armed with rockets), 75 24lber Frigates, 64 Galleys, 78 Light Galleys, 66 Cannonade Frigates, 101 Brigs, and 256 Bomb Ketches (Ketches armed with mortars).
The Marines are organized and equipped the same way as the army but also have 331 Indiamen for transport and landing support. Marines use pinnaces to travel from ships to shore or from ship to ship.

The Canadian Confederation was a strong reliable ally to many, including the French and British empire. It controlled the northern half of North America, with its sole land border being with the Confederates. It had adopted a neutral stance yet still distances itself from some certain nations. It's trade is large as it has lots natural resources, more than most countries in the world (even irl). It's population was large, just a bit under its southern neighbor. The navy was huge with such a large coastline, however the ground forces were smaller and only there for strictly defensive purposes.

Tashkent, The Khanate of Turkestan

Khan Shaykh Ahmed stood on the balcony overlooking Tashkent, the Royal Capital of Turkestan. The Khanate of Turkestan was formed by the Kazakh Khanate in 1712 after a long series of conquests against the other Central Asian nations such as the Uzbeks, Uyghurs and Turkmens. Now stood a Central Asia united by one banner, and that was the Khanate of Turkestan. Shaykh Ahmed watch as the sun slowly rose across the horizon, and the busy streets of Tashkent.

An assistant came into his room from behind and reminded him. "My Khan, today you have to inspect the army in front of the Grand Palace," She reminded. Shaykh nodded and put on his royal garments and got ready. Today was a special day, as he would be inspecting the Turkestan Army, a force of soldiers who hailed from different parts of the Khanate. Some where Uyghurs, some were Uzbeks, some were Kazakhs and even some ethnic Chinese Hui people, who are a predominantly Muslim ethnic group in China.

Two guards waited by the door and as the Khan came, gradually opened the palace doors to reveal line over line of soldiers. Most of the army was gathered at the royal capital for inspection by Khan Shaykh Ahmed. Most of the soldiers were armed with Muskets and Matchlock rifles and many swords. Shaykh was relieved to know such an army was at his disposal, if there was ever a need for war against their neighbors.

They carry the same as standard foot soldiers, just they're on horses. The other ten are the foot soldiers. They have a bow and ten arrows, a gun (which is rather risky to use) and some ammunition too. We are currently in the process of equipping them all with what we call a retractable spear. Think of it as a six-foot long umbrella, but it has seven knives instead of fabric on the end. It folds up like an umbrella after you take off the knives. The plan is to have three knives to two people and the pole and the other knife going to the third. In big battles, we also have a total of eighty cannons.
Naval Forces: 150,000, on a total of ten thousand small ships and a thousand large ships. A small ship has ten people: a pilot/sail technician, the captain, who gives orders, four gunners, one for each light cannon, and four oarsmen, who row, or assist the gunners when operating the guns. A large ship has fifty people and twenty-four guns. Each ship also has a stock of guns, bows, and arrows. We are in the process of equipping each ship with three retractable spears and a saw, for cutting ropes of the ship is "lassoed."
We currently do not have any ambitions we would like to make public.

I realize these numbers are huge and crazy, but they're realistic. There were 800,000 people in China's military at this time.

In Beijing, Emperor Zaifeng and his top generals have been discussing an invasion of Southern Korea. China currently controls the areas north and east of the capital, Seoul. They have decided to directly attack Seoul now. There will be a naval attack from Tianjin, with 400 large ships, 3,000 small ships, and 50,000 people. There will also be a land-based attack from Kaesong, with five standard divisions and one archer division, totaling 300,000 forces, and forty cannons, which will arrive later. The Koreans are specter to respond with 140,000 ground forces and 50,000 naval forces. This attack is going to happen once all invaders are equipped with retractable spears, which is expected to take place in the next few days. Stay tuned for news of the invasion.

Reports are now coming in to the Korean Invasion Home Base in Pyongyang. General Zuan Mantong has reported, while there were eleven hundred boats sunk and about twelve thousand casualties on his side, the port in Seoul was almost completely destroyed. Tens of thousands of Korean casialties are expected. General Jin Qilai says his forces experienced about thirty thousand casualties, but they have raided the palace and killed some important officials. They have killed about fifty thousand Korean troops. This news is now en route to Emperor Zaifeng in Beijing. The Koreans have already announced that they will set up a temporary government on Jeju if Seoul falls. They are expected to cede defeat within 24 hours.

The King of Korea has been captured! The Korean government is moving the the island of Jeju, and the rest of the peninsula is almost open. All the Chinese have to do now is move in to occupy the peninsula. Casualty statistics will come later, when they can be confirmed.

Russia at War

Russian emperor, Peter the I has decided to attack Sweden and begin reconquest of Russian region of Noteborg, where Peter will build, if this war is successful, a city called Saint Petersburg which will be as well new capital for Russia.

Russian troops already besieged Noteborg with 4500 Infatry, 30 Cannons and 2000 Calvary. Reinforcments will be coming soon but not yet. Peter the I is preparing an campaing on Finland and Baltics after Noteborg is occupied.
