World Assembly Nightmare Scenario: All Alone

Imagine waking up one fine morning (not on April 1), and logging in to your favorite online political simulator... As is common, there is a vote on a potentially controversial topic in the General Assembly, or so the sidebar/menu tells you. You click the 1, hoping to cast an early vote and help sway future voters towards your personal beliefs. You vote FOR the proposal at vote.

The vote counter reads:


Votes For: 1 (100%)
Votes Against: 0 (0%)
[Delegate Votes]

Voting Ends: in 2 days 6 hours

Initially, you are happy to be the first voter on a Resolution. Then, you look again. "Voting Ends: in 2 days 6 hours"

Shouldn't there be a lot more votes by now?

You look at the World Assembly page again.

"To me, my interns! No idea what's going on, but we're grabbing the real estate while the grabbing's good. Everyone take a carbine and a sidearm from the weapons locker. You four, go up to the top floor and find the best-appointed corner office. Secure it, then two of you stay inside on guard, the other two patrol the rest of the floor making sure it's really empty. Switch jobs every half hour. You three, start moving all our stuff here to the former Gliptistani office down the hall by the elevator; that's our new staging area. Remember to avoid gnomes and golems. Mrs. Smythe and I'll be in radio contact to coordinate movement and help avoid contact with the gnomes. Let's move."

Mrs. Smythe folds her arms and scowls. Steph sighs.

"I will personally help move Catherine Gratwick's desk to our new digs, and seat you in it myself. World Assembly bronze seal and all. Cool?"

Mrs. Smythe nods curtly, then stands up and walks toward the wall, fumbling with a chain around her neck. When she gets the key, she opens up the weapons locker.

"Alright, everyone, stay frosty."
