What happened to the Black Riders?

Postby Patrimonium Petri » Mon Nov 02, 2015 9:34 pm

The dreaded raider organization, The Black Riders, was for years responsible for massive raids upon unsuspecting and (presumably) neutral regions. Some months ago, a democratic coup took place in TBR, forcing an electoral system upon the once autocratic régime. That is all I know, because I became inactive after a couple of weeks. Now, the once powerful region is a puny shadow of its former self (literally only one nation), and its raider allies have either stopped raiding or are moribund themselves. What happened to TBR between the coup and now?

Gameplay.

Also, DEN is where many members of TBR now reside.

I say it's a bit sad to see TBR just go down like that. You have to admit they kept a certain balance between raiders and everyone else. It's like watching an old style of crime go out to make way for a new, cruder version.
I believe that madness can find more madness, and that every ounce of madness has a spark of truth. And truth, as you know, has a way of depressing people who don't want to find it.

No one is 100% honest... We all keep 20% of the truth from the world, to protect ourselves & sometimes others.

'Cimmerian Mercs' project is also direct off-spring from TBR, mostly detached from, and following in spirit of old TBR Phoenix Division's traditions.

Those two sum most of it up. Feel free to drop any specific questions left.

Other raiders still exist.

The staff leaders couldn't follow the rules; and as such were punished. This lead to a DOS status being placed both on Bob Moran and General Halcones; both very pleasant individuals. Was it sad to see them go? Sure was! Was it sad to see TBR die? Fuck no! XD

From the death of TBR awe saw activity spur from both DEN and Cimmeria. DEN trying to diversify into larger scale ops however lacking in the general day-to-day tag raiding that we saw from TBR and Cimmeria which operates nearly every single update down to a small but dedicated force which does limit them to small scale ops.

He said he knew what happened through the public takeover, just not how that devolved into what it is today. So I linked stuff that explained that.

True and raiders are better for it compared to the TBR heyday of drone tagging.

Bob Moran and Halcones felt that they were above the rules and got DOSed.

We all then eagerly watched TBR members panic and flounder as their region went down the pan.

Not going to bring already forgotten schisms on the table again, just reminding that those "heyday drone taggers" were also same folks whom actively participated launching invasions, routinely reinforced occupations (while "drone tagging"), blocked several liberation attempts, refounded regions after successful occupations, and all their inactive time they also piled some active occupation.

Why history must be told in way it gives wrong impression on actual happenings, now and then, Revall?

No argument there, we both know where we stand Cora I don't care for tagging I don't deny its usefulness as a limited practice utility however I also will not equate or attribute the successful execution of the raiding activities you listed with tag raiding prowess.

The extent to which TBR glorified and expended considerable organizational time and resources to the practice of tag raiding in the name of training or keeping the troops active or whatever justification especially at a time when they were the dominant force in the GP landscape was imho not the best position to hold. I was complicit I was an active updating member of TBR for months not to mention other orgs I tagged for.
