The Deritan Meillur's meeting of the Leftists (DM only)

Postby Servinta » Thu Oct 22, 2015 4:10 pm

It was an averagely weathered October morning, with a slight chilled breeze sweeping down from Russlande and from the Black sea to the East. But as the sun rose it brought with it the warmth that would fool one into thinking it was still summer despite the oncoming of winter. As the sun rose so did a multitude of Servintan's to whom today was not an ordinary October day, instead to them and the nation abroad it was a day of massive importance.

For today was the meeting of all the Leftist national leaders and ministers from around the Meillur, who would be some of the first foreigners to officially enter the nation in a decade. With this in mind the Servintan Peoples Federal Government had gone to all lengths to accommodate the new arrivals and would go to any heights to amaze them as they met to discuses the current global situation and to forge an alliance that would cement their nations security and competitiveness with the other allied nations in the CDV and FDC.

To greet the emissaries and their entourages the Servintan Federal Guard had taken over control of Plovdiv Airport, allowing for full management of the already secure air terminal that would facilitate the outsiders aircraft and ferry them to their meeting place in the mountains beyond Plovdiv City.A short drive in either the Arch-Guards armored diplomatic limousine or by the foreigners own mode of transportation they brought with them, they would arrive in a sleepy little town just at the foot of a massive mountain range with one heavily guarded road to the top.

There among the clouds, atop one of the highest peaks in Servinta stood the grand monument, Mount Buzludzha: Servinta’s Communist Party Headquarters and the meeting place for the Leftist Bloc conference that day.Servintan flags flew next to that of Iravian, and Espana's own banners along with a multitude of other nations who were expected to arrive.Beneath these a red carpet was rolled out all the way to the entrance of the Headquarters, where behind massive red doors lay the conference hall with seats for up to a thousand people.

Seats on the stage had already been reserved for each delegation behind oak desks with refreshments and their respective flags surrounding them, the high echelon of Servintan Communist party members would be seated in the audience seats bellow the stage.

The Arch-Leader and his Arch-Orator already had taken their seats at the main desk in the center of the stage, there he awaited the delegations.

Head of the Directory, a system branch of the nation under the Justice system made up of the Viceroys of Espana Pedro José-Joahim Francia arrived in Servinta on a ferry from Instaneau, Derita. As third in command of the Republic of Espana, Francia was a radical communist and there fore had been the one who had inform the the Prime Minister and the President of the National Assembly of the Leftist Alliance, as it was called in Espana, or the the Leftist Bloc by others.

Comrade Francia felt that the Leftist Alliance was very much needed in a world of monarchs and capitalistic pigs. This oftentimes put him at odds with Prime Minister Pantellria, due to his relatively relax Liberal-Conservative political view being in contrast to Francia's radical one.

Francia was swarmed by a beehive of pages and lower delegates, eight in total, mostly members of the National Assembly Representatives and Senators, with one Viceroy, Alfonso Karenina Jr. of Peru. Francia was a average height man with a rounding belly, he was a father of three and so this tired him very much leaving no time to be perfectly fit. He had a curly black beard, which matched his black hair that was described as spiky yet curly. Viceroy Alfonso was built like a Roman statue, his face cleanly shaven and his hair white, pulled back into a tail.

While Comrade Francia wore the simple brown suit with a blood red tie and a communist emblem on his chest, the average norm for Espanards, the Viceroy of Peru was far more elaborate in dress by the nation's standards. A tall man at 6 feet and 7 inches, Viceroy Alfonso wore a light navy blue uniform with a black boots, a red sash around his waist and white gloves on his hand. The most beautiful part was his large navy blue hat with feathers coming out of it.

Despite the two men's outward difference, they both very much embraced the Socialist and Leftist style of things and view this meeting as extremely important.

"Today we welcome The Republic of Espana Head of the Directory, comrade Pedro José-Joahim Francia. And the Viceroy of Peru, comrade Alfonso Karenina Jr. " Aleksander Rykoff, the former governor of Servinta's Sofia-grad district and considered the second hand to the Arch-Premier who was head of the Servintan Communist Party. His announcement and greeting was followed by the thunderous applause of a thousand party leaders from almost every district and territory of Servinta, who were happy and amazed to see foreigners who shared their beliefs.

He stood at a podium at the center of the stage, in front of the desks where the delegations would sit and opposite to the Arch-Leader's own desk which was raised slightly to show the importance of the masked man who sat behind it.But unlike the Arch-Leader who stood only momentarily to join the applause that greeted the Espana delegation, Rykoff stood stoic and gave a warm smile as he clapped along with the others. He gestured for one of the attendants to escort the two leaders and their entourages to the desk just to the left of the Arch-Leader's.

"Comrades, welcome to this, the First Conference of the Leftist Bloc!" Rykoff's words only bolstered the applause as it intensified and then died down only when he gestured for the audience to calm themselves.

"My friends, how are our comrades across the Mediterranean?" He asked as the attendant motioned to the microphone on the Espana desk, there was one on every desk and would allow all parties to speak clearly during the conference.

The Iravians, since they were among the few great socialist powerhouses in the region were invited to send their highest socialist leader to the People’s Federation of Servinta to witness the creation of a new alliance, one for strictly communist and socialist and other leftist nations only. The Leftist Bloc as it was unofficially called would act as a third way between the already mighty alliances of the Congress de Vienna and the Freedom Defense Coalition. The last of which Irav was an active member of and for the Iravians was mostly oriented on economic and military cooperation. However, the membership of the maritime commonwealth in the Freedom Defense Coalition was perhaps the last major obstacle between prime-minister Anuun Ataninnuaq Keelut and having Irav succeed to join the Leftist Bloc.

Prime-minister Anuun Ataninnuaq Keelut who was also the head of the Iravian socialist party was chosen to attend the meeting in the People’s Federation, what according to rumors was to be the first meeting in over a decade. Anuun Keelut knew that this meeting would be among his more though ones as he had to overcome one major obstacle before Irav could be recognized as a full member state of the Leftist Bloc, and although Anuun was a hard-core socialist having Irav resigning from the Freedom Defense Coalition was simply impossible. The prime-minister was as soon as he took a seat aboard the aircraft busy looking over his notes, which he had carefully prepared for this meeting. The notes were mainly drafts for ideas that the House of Commons and especially the Socialist Party had prepared for him, and showed several options on how Irav could combine its membership in both alliances with eachother.

The slightly red-ish coloured aircraft softly touched down on a landing strip on the Servintan airport Plovdiv, where all representatives were required to land before being transported to a small town under the foot of a huge mountain, which was home to the Servintan communist party. Prime-minister Anuun Keelut walked down the stairs of his aircraft as he looked around trying to get a good look of his surroundings. He was wearing a black suit which he usually wore with a deep red bowtie. From the airport he would wait for a Servintan car to pick him up.

Comrade Francia smiled and waved back to the crowd. The Servintains seemed to be respectable enough, and while they seemed a bit... Gray, they were pleasant people apparently. As Comrade Francia and Alfonso Karenina sat down, the former cleared his throat. The Viceroy answered before the Head of the Directory could however. Francia mumbled under his breath in Spanish at this, but it was too low to hear.

"We fair well, the Republic is strong and our people true. The Prime Minister and the People lead us to a brighter future. Though it seems that outside nations and forces resent us. They fear the way of the Manifesto and the Bible, they wish to hurt us. But we shall not fall prey to those who wish to entrap us in their webs of fortunes and lies. We shall remain strong, everyone here today will remain strong. We shall do so together"

A moment passed as the prime-minister waited for a vehicle, the noise of the bustling Servintan citizens who were using a separate section of the airport not under Federal Guard control and the constant drone of aircraft landing and taking off above them. Then a random patrolling Guardsman wandered onto the pick-up area and froze as he locked eyes with the foreign dignitary. He hesitantly took up his radio with his free hand that wasn't holding the sub-machine gun and mumbled something to whoever was listening.

Almost as soon as the Federal Guardsman finished his radio report the screeching of ties echoed throughout the parking lot as a powerful engine was revved. From behind the glass paneled building of the terminal a jet black ZiL-01 Limousine whipped around the corner and again revved its engine before coming to the roundabout pic-up zone that the Prime-Minister stood waiting at.Slowing to a stop with ease the limo halted and its rear passenger door popped open automatically, followed by the emergence of a tall red uniformed Arch-Guardsman who stepped out of the car.

Gesturing to the open door the Arch-Guardsman closed the door behind the Prime-Minister as he entered. And as soon as he was in the Arch-Guardsman walked up to the front passenger door and sat next to another Guardsman who was driving the vehicle. And after a quick blink of the 'fasten seat-belt' light the driver slowly pulled out of the roundabout and steadily gained speed as he entered the highway. The Prime minister was treated to a automatic minibar that extended from the wall next to his seat along with a few snacks to hold him over for the short ride to the conference.

Once there the Arch-Guardsman yet again automatically opened the door and the other one assisted the PM as he exited the vehicle, being sure to open the doors to the meeting hall where the conference was already in progress.

The audience was already applauding the good news from Espana, and with The Viceroy's words of encouragement for the Leftist Alliance to become a true power aginst the enemies within and outside their nations the applause could only grow with the Iravian PM's arrival.

"The fervor of your people and their determination to succeed in the face of those who would rather see us all perish is inspiring for us here in Servinta and we could only hope to emulate your nations struggle aginst the capitalist and monarchists, comrade Viceroy." Aleksander Rykoff replied, happy that the Espanian delegation was looking forward to joining the Leftist Alliance.

"And with both Espana's delegation and Irav's own Prime-minister Anuun Ataninnuaq Keelut here today we will forge a block that will weather all the outside influences that assail us and will make us stronger together. Please let us welcome Comrade Anuun Ataninnuaq Keelut and celebrate our comrades from Espana!" He called forth the crowd and they answered louder than ever before the clapping died down for the delegates to speak.

"Comrade Anuun Ataninnuaq Keelut, what news of Irav do you bring?Espana has already announced their peoples strength of will for communism." He asked in the hushed room as the PM was escorted to his desk with a microphone.

Prime Minister Percy awoke abruptly to banging on his cabin door. He rubbed his eyes and opened the shade to the outside. He rubbed his eyes once again and looked out. The plane was still above the clouds. He rose up putting on a pair of house shoes. He walked over to the door and opened it. Standing there was a young attendant on his sister-in-laws plane. It was an Imperial Plane loaned to him by Empress Aubrey.

"Sorry to awake you your Excellency. I was ordered to inform you that we have entered Serventian airspace. We are estimated to land in about thirty minutes should all go correctly." The attendant cleared her throat. She was visibly nervous being in the presence of high nobility and the highest elected official.

"Very well. Thank you for the warning. Dismissed." Prime Minister Henry Percy answered. He gently closed the door and proceeded to the closet where he picked out the suit he saved for this day. He lay it out neatly on his bed and preceded to take a shower.

A few minutes later the Prime Minister was out and dressed himself. He skyped his wife before looking out the window as the plane landed seamlessly. There was a flurry of activity as the plane stopped on the tarmac. Moments later the door was opened. His limousine that had landed a day before was waiting. He waved the the crew and to those there to greet him. He was whisked to his car and climbed in. His motorcade zoomed off for the meeting place. He watched as Servinta zoomed by. It was a new place. He was one of the first outside leaders to step foot inside in a long time. He was amazed by the new scene and all that it was comprised of. His imagination flew and so did time. In what felt like a minute the car stopped and the door flung open. PM Percy stepped out and looked around. He gave a few nods and waves and moved inside. He was positioned just offstage to be welcomed inside. He was excited to have a new third party alliance to be a part of. Away from the constant eating and bickering of the CDV and FDC. He smiled and waited patiently.

"Now comrades of the Servintan Peoples Communist Party I introduce a new ally to the meeting that I hope you will all welcome with the same cheerfulness as the others have recived, I introduce comrade Prime Minister Henry Percy of the Royal United Provinces!" Aleksander Rykoff knew that not many of the Servintan party-members had known of the RUP's invite to the meeting as they and the nation in general had little contact with the foreign nation.

But he was pleased to see that either honest joy for more leftist nations to join the alliance or fear of disappointing the Arch-Leader made the standing ovation for the Prime minister just as loud and warm as the other had been. The attendant escorted Percy into the building and across the stage to his desk, where his seat was pulled out an a microphone stood nearby to allow him to talk with the others and the whole room.

Now with all three of the biggest leftist national leaders together along with Servinta's own top echelons of the communist party, they could get down to the business of organizing and formulating the plans for the Leftist Alliance.

"Comrades, now that we are all here I feel it is necessary to begin with the most important aspect of this confrence. The recent moved by FDC affiliated nations such as North Timeria and the constant threat of CDV nations has brought us together and now I ask that if we should form our alliance, will you all be willing to support other should one of us come under threat from the other nations?" Rykoff was always known to be a blunt but passionate man, who was no fool to think that the Leftist alliance would be capable of supporting each other without mutual military assurance.

Iravian prime-minister Anuun Keelut was simply amazed by the idea of the leftist alliance the Servintans had started. Finally his dream of a strong combined socialist and communist bloc would be realized. Prime-minister Anuun had attempted several times already to establish such an alliance between some of the strongest socialist and communist powers in the region, but each time again and again the House of Commons destroyed his plans. And now with an invitation from the Servintans and with the support of an Iravian majority at home there was no one in his way to stop him from signing this alliance.

The people at home had always seen their prime-minister as somewhat of a leftist extremist, a person who would be capable of the most horrible things if it suited his personal and political agenda and as a person who would go to extensive lengths to achieve what he wanted. However, he was still a popular figure in Iravian politics and even one of the more successful prime-ministers in recent years. Anuun Ataninnuaq Keelut was simply baffled by the applause that he received as he entered the meeting hall. Which was only made louder and louder by the Espanan delegation who had just finished their opening speech. As the prime-minister was escorted to his desk and was given a small microphone he could hear Aleksander Rykoff asking him what positive news he had brought with him from the Iravian Empire.

’’Thank you everyone! It’s amazing to be a part of this alliance. I’ve spoken with the my government and the combined chiefs of staff of the United Forces before this very important meeting. And now I’m glad to be able to announce that the Iravian people as well as the government are more than happy to announce their full cooperation with our ideological brothers and we would go to extensive lengths to protect the alliance itself as well as its member states.’’

He looked around the room for just a second to see the reactions of some of the people in the meeting hall. Then he decided it could do no harm if he spoke a little more about his will to cooperate with the leftist bloc.

’’Our navies are still unrivalled by the major powers of this world and our naval logistics are among the best that the world has to offer. Irav still rules the seas, which is a fact that is not changing anytime soon. And we would not hold back on using this destructive element of war to deter or directly combat anyone that has the guts to directly oppose our leftist bloc!’’

Deep in his own mind he knew that he would be unable to gain a majority vote to use to full power of the United Forces Iravian and Oyashiman Navies to deter other Freedom Defense Coalition nations from trying anything funny, but he too was aware of the perfect position the Iravian Empire found itself in as a possible diplomat between possible Freedom Defense Coalition aggressors and the Leftist Bloc.

"This is good, with Iravian naval power on our side along with the rest of our capable navies we can effectively control and maintain our influence in the maritime borders around our nations and if threatened we can respond to attacks on our ships in international waters.Seeing this I also propose we all sign a pact of favored trade among each other, in light of those Carolina tariffs and Derita's spat with them we should be mutually assured that if other nations blockade or tax one of us then we will all respond by increasing trade with the afflicted nation and break the blockade. This settles our problems with both trade and naval alliance, as well as blockade breaking measures." Rykoff proposed the plan once Irav had put forth their formidable navy.He knew Espana was also a naval power and RUP had a naval force although he didn't know if they were as good as the others as he had never heard of them. But he did know that Espana had been blockaded before and if the proposal was added to the charter than it would alleviate their woes during future embargos.

"But I digress, is there any other needs that must be accomplished here or do any one of you gentlemen desire to propose an addition to the Leftist alliance charter?" He left the floor open for Espana, Irav, or RUP's representatives to address the conference hall before he brought out the alliance charter.

Plovdiv Airport, Servinta
Secretary of Foreign Affairs Eleanor Steager, Under-Secretary of Defense Daniel Recker, Operator Daniel Phoenix

"I need sleep."

Those were the first words out of the mouth of Under-Secretary of Defense Daniel Recker as three Connerians stepped off the private jet and into the Servintan airport. The man hadn't slept in almost 36 hours, and ... well, when was the last time any Connerian politician had gotten eight hours?

Operator Daniel Phoenix, the bodyguard of sorts for the two politicians, grinned and took in the scene. He was used to not having much sleep. SWORD special forces didn't get much of it during field missions.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Foreign Affairs Eleanor Steager shook her head and yawned. "We're heading straight from here to the conference. Then it's back here. Should have slept on the plane."

Recker shrugged. "I can sleep in the car if we don't go too fast."

Steager doubted they would get special treatment. "It's not a long drive. Besides, we'll probably have to hightail it there - we're US officials, you know we'll have a shitload of paperwork to do."

"Craaap."

As they approached the security checkpoint, they saw a Servintan man in a polo shirt and kakhis approached them. Extending his hand, he said in unaccented English, "Secretaries. Welcome to Servinta. My name is Aleksandar Mateev. I will be your guide to ensure that you find your brief stay in Servinta to be enjoyable. Is there anything you need?"

Steager was just about to reply - of course, she thought, they hadn't been told they wouldn't have to go through customs or anything - when Recker butted in and said, "We need sleep."

Mateev nodded and chuckled. "Do not worry. You are not scheduled to appear for another hour and a half. You will have time to sleep."

Recker just said, "I love you."

Later
Servintan Communist Party Headquarters

They might not to have had to go through security at the airport, but the fact that the three Connerians were - well, Connerians, and government officials to boot - meant that security at the summit was hellish. Phoenix immediately placed his two pistols in a plastic bin - he was deadlier with his hands anyways - , but that wasn't all. They were subjected to pat-downs, strip searches, metal detectors, and basically everything else known to the security industry.

When the three were finally done with security, they were led through a back entrance into the Communist Party facility. It was a nice place, Steager thought. At last, the three were brought off to one of the wings. There, they could see one of their guards making a series of hand motions to a man on the stage. The man nodded and whispered something into the ear of what looked like the Arch-Orator. The three were told they would be announced in a bit.

And so they waited.

The Arch-Orator looked back for a brief moment, wondering if the words he heard were right. But how could they be wrong, for it was the Arch-Leader himself who had deemed it necessary for the Connerians to be here, and whatever the Arch-Leader decreed was so in Servinta.Malkite however had been the one to convey the wishes of his master to the Directorate of Foreign Affairs, and in a matter of hours the USC was notified and replied with their acceptance communique that the delegation to the First Leftist Alliance meeting would be sent. And now they were here standing in the back wing waiting patiently to join the four other delegations on stage.

He leaned forward and whispered something into the Arch-Leaders mask covered ear, and oddly enough he seemed to understand whatever Malkite had said quite clearly and perked up as he anticipated the late parties arrival. With a nod Malkite stood up from the table and walked over to the podium where Rykoff was, just as he finished his opening of the floor for proposals to the other nations delegations and the audience. Again he whispered something into Rykoff's ear that gave him an uncharacteristically flabbergasted look over his face.

"Comrades, we have a special late announcement and guest that has arrived late but is still welcomed by the Leftist Alliance.I present to you comrade Secretary of Foreign Affairs Eleanor Steager, comrade Under-Secretary of Defense Daniel Recker, and comrade Daniel Phoenix of the United States of Conner!" Rykoff regained his composure and announced the delegations arrival as they were escorted to their desk.

The reaction of the crowd was a strong applause, but it was for the Arch-Leaders presence that made them applaud when told to, not for the USC delegations own sake. For the USC had been a agreeable but intrusive nation of the western powers and while historically on good terms with Servinta they had also been known for their 'global' reach and were feared for its possible reaching into Servinta.

"Comrades, we were just opening the floor to possible additions to our alliances charter before we all signed the pact, I'm sure someone would have an addition before we finish, it is only ... democratic of us." Rykoff updated the USC delegation and the rest on the situation.

Steager smiled and cleared her throat. "First off, I would like to state how excited I am to be here. As a leftist myself, many of these nations here share my own personal beliefs. While, obviously, the United States may be more capitalistic than other nations present here, many of our beliefs do line up and I believe this makes the United States a perfect fit for a liason between the FDC and this new Leftist bloc.

Now, perhaps we can take a look at this charter. As an observer nation, we may suggest some edits here or there. However, obviously, the decisions will be up to the actual members of the Leftist Bloc."

The other two men simply sat on either side of Steager at attention. Recker's job usually focused more on FDC-CDV conflicts, but his boss had been too busy to make it here. As for Phoenix, well, the last time he had been in Servinta he had killed multiple people. He was just there as a guard.
