Lecistan Social Democrats kick off campaign with a rally in front of Royal University of Technology in Szimóngôcz

Luka Bendows speaks in front of the University, adressing a thoudsand people who've come to the kick-off event of the election campaign.
''If history has teached us anything, it is that nations with the best minds and greatest technology always come first. First in economy, first in stability, first in democracy, first in welfare, first in living standards. This autumn, I want you to vote for LSD because we want Lecistan to be first! And we can only achieve that by investing in our schools and excellent educational facilities like this one. We need a better education system, one with a bold plan to turn every Lecistani student into a 21st century citizen. The only way we will be first in anything is if we invest in our bright young people and give them the tools they need to stay in this beautiful country and start a business and expand the country's opportunities. We've gathered here, in front of this great institution, because we want to be the party of the young. The ones who are tired of political mayhems and just want to get a fair shot in life. We represent them. We represent the future! We will invest funds into education and research facilites so we can build a country for the 21st century. That is our moral obligation. Our young people deserve to get a fair shot in life, no matter where they come from or how big their parents' pay is. We want to build a modern, sophisticated country where everyone will be able to get a job and where hard work and dedication will be awarded. In this campaign, there will be many parties which will tell you that their way is the true way. But only we will offer a real plan and a real programme to help our country and help our economy. We love this nation and we want to make it better for everyone!''

Autumn Gala (ÙNdPL fundraiser), Hotel Szimón, Szimóngôcz
The glasses clinged around the ballroom of the Hotel Szimón as Gúglelmo Mánti, leader of the National Union for the Resurgence of Lecistan, stood up from his seat. "Men and ladies, If I could have your attention?"

"On October 6th, we will enter into a new age for the National Union, and a new age for Lecistan. My colleagues have informed me that recent polls have placed us above ninety percent! The people want us, they want stability, and they want strong leadership. We can give that to them. We will win the battles in the southwest, and we will never bow to the whores that run Odissia and Michillies, who wish to destroy our land and our culture. Only through the Grand Duke, through the National Union, can we bring Lecistan to a new age! Long live Juhani, and long live Lecistan!"

As the crowd repeated the toast, President Jóvanne-Márco Sáltucéri, standing beside Mánti, quickly began to drink his glass as Juhani's name was mentioned.

Szimóngôcz University
Kasper Gurka was a famed comedian in Lecistan. Having decided to start the Feline Party, he chose his own cat, Snoopy, to be the leader of the party.

He said to a group of students who attended the rally, "As the official translator for Snoopy, this adorable feline in my arms, we have a problem. For a long time, humans have been running this great nation into the ground. Monarchists, republicans, they claim that they will benefit the country, but they make decisions that make no sense, like banning other ideologies."

"I have talked with Snoopy," Gurka stated, "and he said that we must vote the humans out! If he wins the election, he promises to legalize slavery of humans by cats, to make humans follow the schedule of the feline master race, and to do whatever the felines wish for them to do. If the cats want us to give them food, we must do so. If we need to clean the litter box, so it goes. If they want us to sleep, we shall succumb to their positive influences."

"Some of you," Gurka remarked, "may be worried that our economy will collapse. No problem. The best economic system is jumping up on top of bookshelves and batting stuff off the shelf until they fall and break! That is what he would do, and I think Snoopy would want us to do the same. All we need to do is vote the humans out!"

Social Democrats hold a rally in Ricérzów

''We need to focus on the future. Winning in October will show the difference we can make in our country - a positive, bold difference. And to win, we need to show that we're in tune with the lives of Lecistanis, that we understand their concerns and fears, and that we show them a positive, progressive message of how Lecistan can be run. Our driving ambition must be to have everyone in this beautiful country have the opportunity to build a better future for themselves and their family, no matter what their background is. And together, we can make this a reality. Not for us, or our party members, but for everyone in this nation. For everyone who are struggling to make ends-meet. Struggling for a better future. For those unable to afford a safe and secure home, for those whose wages don't strech to the end of the month. For those missing out on good education. We can only help them if we are together, if we are united, if we win. So let's rally together and show that politics can be done differently and that Lecistan can be a better country for all!''

Grzéskowicz speaks to rally in Lùtórowo on protecting our future

Image
Grzéskowicz told the large crowd that our future as a nation was "under assault from all sides".

September 12th, 2015 | Lùtórowo, Lecistan - Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty leader Łukôsz Grzéskowicz spoke before a large crowd of Rally supporters and undecided voters in the Lùtórowo Concert Stadium about the importance of standing and fighting for the future of Lecistan, describing it as "under assault from all sides, and by threats both foreign and domestic," while reassuring the crowd that, in spite of all the challenges to our liberties and our sovereignty, the Lecistani people could still reach out to guarantee that their future was placed in their hands.

"The Rally is a party dedicated to guaranteeing that the future of Lecistan is both bright and in the hands of the Lecistani people," Grzéskowicz told the crowd at the rally, which was held earlier today. "We stand for the rights of the common man, our access as a nation to security and prosperity, and keeping control of Lecistan's future in Lecistan. And that's part of why we're so dedicated to standing up, regardless of the risks, for those values that we believe in. We're dedicated to taking steps to guarantee forward motion for all of the Lecistani nation." He briefly explained the reasons for the founding of the Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty and its unique style of organization, all dedicated to guaranteeing that the party "[is] always fighting for the will of our supporters and the people of this country," according to Grzéskowicz. "We've all felt a lot of disappointment in establishment parties in recent months- parties that have failed to respect our liberty, guarantee our security, protect our prosperity, fight for our sovereignty, or some combination thereof. And that's why the Rally is here- to stand for legitimate change in Lecistan."

Moving on, Grzéskowicz explained how Lecistan's future is under threat by domestic and foreign elements. He began by discussing the domestic situation in Lecistan. "It's no secret that the past several months have been tough for the people of Lecistan. The economy has struggled, our security has faltered, and the problems that we'd been facing have only grown larger in recent months. Many in Lecistan remain marginalized or silenced when they should be contributing their skills and ideas to the betterment of Lecistan. Parents are struggling to guarantee that they'll have food on their tables that night. Aspiring students find themselves halted by restrictive cost. Civilians are dying in an increasingly protracted conflict. And that's why the Rally's domestic policy plan calls for changes across the board. To end the marginalization of large parts of Lecistani society, we support the abolition of restrictions on women and the poor and lower middle class voting, so that we can guarantee that these people- our fellow Lecistanis- can contribute fully to the betterment of our homeland. To help the members of our society who are struggling to survive, we support a massive expansion of our state's social security net, including unemployment assistance, a pension program, access to healthcare for all, housing assistance, food stamps and voucher systems, and more benefits for people who pledged their lives for our country by joining our armed forces- and because guaranteeing financial security means people will be willing and able to spend more, that will in turn help our national economy. To increase access to education, we support plans to expand our school system and lower the cost of attending colleges and vocational schools. And to keep the people of Lecistan safe, we support a strong armed forces that will exist to protect the people and the nation before all else. Taking these actions would alleviate the suffering of many Lecistanis, would help us fight the issues facing us, and would allow us to move forward, together, as a nation."

But, Grzéskowicz continued, foreign rule would also damage Lecistan's future. "The simple truth is that the only people who know the wants, the needs, and the will of the Lecistani nation, the only people who truly know how to run Lecistan, is the Lecistani people. If we want to make forward progress as a nation, then we have to guarantee that the future of Lecistan remains in our hands. Unfortunately, there are many abroad who would seek to take this power our of our hands," he explained before asking rhetorically, "What do bureaucrats in Sa Corugna or noblemen in Nevanlinna know about our desires, our necessities?" In response, the crowd cried "Nothing!" and he responded, "Exactly, nothing! The people who know Lecistan best are the Lecistani people, and if we want to make progress in this country then we have to make sure that this government is under the control of the people. We need to increase the power of elected officials who represent the people of our country, and we need to guarantee that we have a Grand Duke who understands our problems and who we can rally behind- a truly Lecistani grand duke."

"There are many issues facing us, but does not mean there is no hope," he concluded. "Because this October, we have a choice to make. This October, we have a chance to stand up and speak. This October, we have an opportunity to put our nation back in our hands, an opportunity to take concrete steps towards a brighter future for all Lecistanis. This October, we get to vote- and it's my hope that you all will vote for the party that will fight for the rights of Lecistanis, the party that will fight for the independence of Lecistan, the party that will fight for concrete change in our homeland. This October, you have a choice, ladies and gentlemen, and it is my sincere hope that you will choose the Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty. Thank you all."

Ending his speech, he was greeted with a roar of applause, being photographed with his wife, Frãcëszka, and his children, Lùtór, Krësztof, Roscisłôwa, and Włodòmierz. Afterwards, reporters from Trzëfarwa spoke with both Rally supporters and undecided voters who had attended the event. "I've been living in Lùtórowo my entire life, and since we elected Łukôsz [Grzéskowicz] back in 2005, he's been fighting for us and for what we want," said Rally supporter Michôł Marszałek. "I'm really confident that he and his allies will be doing the same for us at the national level when they win." And Czcibòr Mikëlski, an undecided voter and ethnic Filimon, told us that he was "greatly swayed" by Grzéskowicz's speech. "There are so many new parties now, you know, that it can be hard to make up your mind, or even to tell the difference sometimes," he explained. "But Grzéskowicz got up there and put out a clear set of policy points that I agreed with, a mixture of things to fight for safety and freedom and prosperity that I don't feel the other parties haven't really provided for me... I'm not going to say my vote is guaranteed, you know, there's still a month left or so, but I'll definitely consider the Rally very seriously from now on."

Luka Bendows holds a Q&A session in University of Brzny

Bendows was facing a set of unfiltered, honest questions about Social Democrats' approach to problems facing Lecistan at home and abroad. He was looking at the crowd eager for their question to be answered and excitement could be felt among the many young people who gathered. The party chose this location because education and high-skill jobs were at the forefront of their manifesto for the October elections. Soon enough, everyone gathered - students, supporters, ordinary voters - and questions started pouring in.

Q: You've talked a lot about democratisation of Lecistan during the campaign, but how do you plan on delivering on that issue?
This is a big problem in our society, as we all know. I think that the Grand Duke has too many powers attributed to him and that our whole political system is very undemocratic and frankly dictatorial. That is why we need real change in this country. This issue is setting us back, not only in terms of political rights, but also in terms of independence and sovereignty to be able to decide our own faith. We would democratise the country by reforming the whole political system. The Grand Duke would have to give most of his powers to the Royal Chamber which would then get considerable powers and the ability to function normally and without pressure and intrusion. This would actually make elections count as opposed to the current system where a legitimately elected house majority can be toppled. The Grand Duke would, under the system we propose, still be our Head of State and that role would be respected and honoured by the Royal Chamber. His powers would be ceremonial, though, and he would only be able to act as Head of Government when there is no government and in times of war. We believe that this is a right approach to take on this issue.

Q: Do you support universal suffrage?
Yes, I absolutely do. Universal suffrage for all our people is a human right and we would put it in place immediately if we could. It is a shame that our country doesn't have the universal right to vote in 2015 and I will work very hard on changing that.

Q: How would you tackle inequality?
We think that inequality and overall rate of poverty in Lecistan is too high. To solve this issue, we would reform our economic system so it benefits both the business and the worker as opposed to the neoliberal capitalistic approach we have today. Workers' rights need to be respected and strengthened in every possible way. That's why we have the bold vision of introducing a Lecistani Minimum Wage Bill so there is a minimum wage set by the state that every employer needs to respect. We would also allow the formation of trade unions so workers can stand up for their rights and organise. That is how we strengthen workers' rights and stand up to those who are barely making ends-meet.

Image

Q: What should Lecistan's foreign policy be like?
For our country to be sucessful and for our economy to be sucessful, we need to open up to the world. We cannot be a small, isolated state that no one cares about. We must open up and become an outward looking, modern country. Militarily, I think we need to work with all countries in the region and throught Esquarium to preserve peace and justice for all. We also need to have extensive talks and negotiations with Odissia regarding our history and potential partnership in the future. But what is more important - economically, we would seek to become a member of various Esquarian trade organisations and open our borders to neighbours and capital so we get higher rate of foreign investment and economic cooperation with countries in the region.

Q: Does Lecistan have to protect ethnic minorities and if so, why?
It is our moral obligation to include everyone who lives in this country in our society. We need to protect ethnic minorities from discrimination and persecution because they are all humans just like us. They also contribute to our country - politically, financially, culturally - just like you and me. We will respect and protect minorities, but we also expect foreign countries to protect Lecistani communities all over the world, mainly in Odissia, because they face discrimination every day.

the OFFICIAL 2015 PARTY PLATFORM
of the RALLY FOR LECISTANI SOVEREIGNTY

Authorized by the National Committee of the Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty

Preamble - Moving Lecistan Forward

The pursuit of opportunity is the driving narrative of the history of Lecistan. For centuries, our struggles to better our conditions as a nation have defined us as a people. In the face of adversity, we have always found a way to overcome the problems facing us, no matter how difficult they were. We have defeated societal ills and foreign enemies alike. Even in situations that seemed hopeless, we rose up in defiance. The Lecistani people possess vast reserves of courage and determination, and the capacity to hear the truth and chart a strong course. They are eager for the opportunity to take on life’s challenges and, through faith and hard work, transform the future for the better. They are the most generous people on earth, eagerly giving their time, talent, and treasure. Lecistan has always come together as a nation to create new solutions and defeat our adversaries.

The people of Lecistan are a proud and strong people. Regardless of our ethnicity or religion, we share a pride in our nation, a firm self-reliance, and a can-do attitude. We work alongside our fellow Lecistanis as brothers and sisters. We work towards a brighter future we can all participate in. We strive for greatness and we fight for our freedom. We do not surrender. We transform our dreams into the truth. Our struggles have defined our values and unified us into a nation.

At present, the situation in Lecistan seems bleak to many. Our nation faces unprecedented economic uncertainty, with many Lecistani people unsure if they'll be be able to pay their rent or utilities- a situation that many predict will only get worse as the regional economy of Esquarium collapses. Large numbers of Lecistanis remain disenfranchised and marginalized, and the power of the Lecistani citizenry has decreased amidst unnerving trends towards authoritarian rule. Instability has worried many and led to the deaths of many of our countrymen as the collapse of political discourse and increasing ethnic tension raise suspicions and pit us against each other. Even the very sovereignty of our nation is at threat, with foreign regimes in Nevanlinna and Sa Corugna seeking to rip our future from our hands and bend us to their will. Our diplomatic and trade relations abroad are collapsing as we increasingly become a pawn of power-players in South Conitia. And the impacts of these problems have consistently hit the common working patriot and his family- the foundations of Lecistani society- the hardest.

Put simply, these times call for trustworthy leadership and honest talk about the challenges we face. Our nation and our people cannot afford the status quo. We must begin anew, with profound changes in the way government operates. We must guarantee that our nation is being governed at home, here, by the Lecistani people, and not by Nevan nobility or Odissian bureaucrats. We must ensure that our government is not abandoning any of Lecistan's citizens, and that it is instead reaching out to assist the worst-off among us by sharing the blessings of our society. We must recreate confidence in our country's security, both military and economic. And we must guarantee that the people of Lecistan have the tools to determine their destiny.

It is not enough to go back to where our homeland was before the crises we now face. We must build a strong foundation for a new Lecistan that ensures such crises will never happen again.

This is a mission in which establishment parties have, for all their attempts, largely failed. They have not successfully guaranteed our national sovereignty from foreign regimes; they have not guaranteed the safety of our citizens from economic misfortune or insurgent terrorism; they have worked to divide, not unify Lecistanis, and to diminish, not expand opportunities. Public confidence in government is at an all-time low. And we recognize that we are not the only party that has been formed by citizens who were tired of government incompetence and political regression. In fact, we would willingly consider many of these parties brothers-in-arms. However, we remain convinced that our policy proposals are the best and most comprehensive for the Lecistani public and for the Lecistani nation. We believe that Lecistan can succeed because the Lecistani people have never failed to defeat adversity in the past, and that there is nothing that together we cannot accomplish.

Providence has put us at a fork in the road, and we must answer a critical question: If not us, who? If not now, when?

The Lecistani people face a choice this October- and it is our hope that they will look at our policies and feel hopeful that a Rally victory would be the first step to creating a better, freer, fairer, richer Lecistan for all Lecistanis- a Lecistan that is truly one and indivisible. This party believes that Lecistan has always been a land whose greatest strength has been the will of its people. This platform affirms that Lecistan has always been a land of grand dreams and even grander potential- and so it will be again, if we return governance of Lecistan to the hands of the people, lift up the marginalized to their role as equals in society, and take concrete action to create a government for all of Lecistan's people. As we embark upon this critical mission, we must make it clear that all of the people of Lecistan have gifts and talents to enrich their homeland, that all of us deserve a fair shot at a brighter future, and that there is nobody more qualified to lead Lecistan than the Lecistani people.

This has to be our North Star- to stand up for our fates and our future, to create a Lecistan for Lecistanis of all ethnicities and social classes, to extend security and opportunity to all corners of our homeland, and to reclaim our sovereignty and our prosperity from foreign regimes. This is not another trivial political argument. It's the defining issue of our time and how we answer this call will determine how we are remembered in the history books. We now stand at a make-or-break moment, and are faced with a choice between moving forward and falling back.

We respectfully and humbly submit this platform to the Lecistani people. It is both a vision of where we are headed and an invitation to join us in that journey. It is about the great dreams and opportunities that have always been Lecistan and must remain the essence of our nation for generations to come.

Let us come together as citizens to fight for Lecistan.

Economics - Rebuilding and Sharing Prosperity

In recent months, the economies of nations across Esquarium have been imploding. Michillies, Namor, Arkiasis, and Pavonistade are all in states of recession; Namor, Scotia, Francilie, and Luziyca have all seen massive stock plunges. Uncertainty and unemployment are skyrocketing across the region. And Lecistan- whose trade relations are already failing following instability and interference in this country- has been badly hit by this financial calamity.

The people who are worst hit by economic security are never those with the capital to easily deflect any blow. The worst victims of economic crisis are almost always those who cannot afford it. They are the common citizen and his family; hardworking and patriotic individuals who form the basis of our economy, our government, and our society. In times of economic crisis, it is all too frequent to see these noble individuals struggling- unsure if they'll be able to pay the rent or cover their utilities bill, stretch a paycheck to the end of the month, or even keep food on their tables. The situation is truly heartbreaking, as good and honest individuals are forced through pain they do not deserve.

In some foreign countries, there are programs set up to assist these victims of misfortune. But the government of Lecistan has too often defaulted on its duty to protect the individuals who need assistance most. We have no real safety net for our people, instead choosing to simply leave the unlucky- our fellow citizens- behind to suffer. This runs contrary to our morality and our values as Lecistanis, and it must change. The people of Lecistan should do everything to guarantee the well-being of one another, for the benefit of each other and for the nation as a whole. We must stand together, work together, and fight together so that every Lecistani has the chance at prosperity. The government is beholden to its people, and it should protect their financial security and look out for the people who form the basis of our society- honest, dutiful, patriotic Lecistanis of all genders, backgrounds, and ideologies.

The issue of families who face economic troubles is heart-wrenching and it must be solved urgently. To fix this issue that does so much harm to our nation and people, the Rally proposes a wide variety of programs designed to create a public safety net, protect the well-being of our people, and ensure that our citizens can guarantee that they will have food on their table and a roof over their heads. We propose the creation of several programs, each designed to target areas that threaten the prosperity of the Lecistani people- unemployment assistance, pensions for public employees, housing assistance, food stamps and vouchers, veterans benefit systems, the guaranteeing of the right to unionize. and the creation of a national living minimum wage. These actions will help protect the prosperity of the people of Lecistan by making sure that they will not have to worry about many of the issues that they might otherwise have to deal with in times of economic trouble.

Some individuals will claim that these proposals are too expensive or will not reinvigorate the economy. The Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty, however, believes these assessments to be grossly incorrect. We believe that the benefits of implementing such a program should be obvious, and that any potential burden would be offset by the inevitable economic benefits. The reasoning behind this is simple: economic crashes are caused because people begin to fear that the money they put into the economy will not come back to them. As such, they stop spending in the interest of guaranteeing that they will be able to pay for their necessities in the future, as they feel they can no longer be sure they will have the money to do so unless they change their spending habits. Because this money is no longer being put into the economy, business owners turn less profit, making them worry about their ability to cover the costs of running a company. In the interest of guaranteeing a continued profit margin, they too make cuts- often to their employee rolls, resulting in layoffs. News of lowering profits and unemployment creates further fear and uncertainty, and more individuals feel insecure about putting their money into the economy. This creates a vicious cycle in which many innocent people are harmed.

To solve economic crisis, we must alleviate the uncertainty that is the root of all economic trouble. If we make sure that the people of Lecistan feel secure in their finances, then they will be more willing to put money into the economy. More cash flow means that profits for businesses will rise, allowing them to expand their operations and hire more employees. This, in turn, will give more people more money to put into the economy. Rising profits and increased wages create the feeling of increased economic security, stimulating further growth. The people of Lecistan benefit from increased foreign investment, higher wages and employment, and can partake in the fruits of prosperity. By protecting the financial security of our citizens, everyone- factory workers, farmers, craftsmen, and businessmen alike- wins.

What the government must do in this period is guarantee the financial security of its citizenry through the creation and implementation of programs such as the ones we have proposed. We cannot allow any of Lecistan's people to be left out of the creation of a brighter future. The creation or expansion of unemployment assistance, public employee pensions, housing assistance, food stamps and vouchers, veteran benefit systems, and a living minimum wage will create public confidence, allowing the people to put more money back into economic circulation. This, in turn, will bring about prosperity and help fight the potentially crippling threat of inequality. And guaranteeing the right to unionize and regulating industry will guarantee that workers are being treated fairly. This will increase economic solvency and ultimately all of Lecistani society will reap the benefits.

Ultimately, the economic plan of the rally is one of getting Lecistanis back to work, growing the Lecistani economy, protecting the Lecistani people from misfortune, and creating access to economic fortune for all of our nation's people.

Education - Expanding Access to Knowledge

The phrase "children are our future" may seem kitschy to many, but there is no denying that it is an astoundingly truthful phrase. We will not live forever, and one day our children will take over our roles as leaders and citizens of this country, themselves raising a generation that will in turn replace them. Society has for centuries functioned on the passing down of education from generation to generation, to guarantee that progress is continually made and that humanity moves forward into the future.

Many abroad view Lecistan as backwards. This stereotype is unfortunate and offensive. Even news sources that are ostensibly committed to being unbiased and fair deride us as simple-minded and insular. Many abroad speculated that Juhani III of Nevanmaa's rise to power in Lecistan would modernize or liberalize the country- many of these individuals the same people who had derided Nevan policy set by Juhani and his allies as centuries outdated. We are seen as ignorant and foolish abroad- a highly negative stereotype, and a highly inaccurate one too. Lecistan has a wide variety of proud colleges and vocational schools, a keenly intellectual and curious people, and a tradition of guaranteeing education for our youth.

However, too many of our youth are not learning all they need to know for the modern world, and too many aspiring students are kept from pursuing higher education by prohibitive cost. We must always remember that the children who are going through our education system are the future of our nation- and we need to do everything within our power to make sure that said future is a bright one.

As a result, the Rally is firmly supportive of expanding Lecistan's access to education system, introducing more a more expansive curriculum to better educate our children, and on reducing the financial barriers to higher education. We need to make sure that our children have the tools to succeed in the modern world, including education about skills they will use in the real world, increasing the options they have in areas of potential study, and adopting effective multimedia educational strategies. We need to lower the cost of college and vocational education and increase access to student loans so that all aspiring students will be able to pursue the careers they wish and require the skills they need to succeed.

Equality - Creating a United Lecistan

The official motto of the Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty is "Lecistan, one and indivisible". This is emblematic of many beliefs held by this party. We believe that all Lecistanis have a right to participate in the governance and future of their nation, and that all Lecistanis should work together to create a better future. And most importantly, we believe that all Lecistanis- regardless of sex, ethnicity, or religion- can be Lecistani patriots.

Presently, only a select few Lecistanis can vote. Their are myriad restrictions, including the infamous restrictions on gender and wealth. These restrictions are archaic, unfair, and outright harmful, because they keep our government from truly representing its people. It often seems the only other groups to have such archaic restrictions on suffrage are Nevanmaa and the so-called Caliphate in Kraq and Irvadistan. To guarantee that the people feel represented by their government, we support the expansion of universal suffrage to all Lecistani citizens over the age of eighteen years. Many of these policies we have already implemented within our party, to try and make sure that our party is receptive to the needs of historically marginalized and abused groups in Lecistan. These actions will greatly improve the human rights situation in Lecistan and guarantee that the Royal Chamber more closely reflects the will of the people. Furthermore, it will increase our image abroad, allowing us to improve our diplomatic and economic relations with many foreign nations, which will further increase conditions in Lecistan.

We also support massive expanding the powers of Royal Chamber so that it is capable of taking actions necessary to defend the rights and well-being of the Lecistani people. This new Royal Chamber would be less subject to royal intrusion and intimidation, and would be more able to carry out the will of the people. Several other reforms would be taken at all levels of government to prevent corruption, guarantee accountability, and create real change in governance. The grand duke would largely serve as a symbol and a figurehead. He would be head of state whereas an elected individual, accountable to the people, would be head of government. However, we do not support the abolition of the crown entirely. Lecistan must remain a sort of constitutional monarchy. In harsh times, a truly Lecistani grand duke could serve as a rallying point for the Lecistani nation. We believe a crowned republic would bring the liberty of democracy and the stability of monarchy to Lecistan.

Furthermore, the Rally, if elected, would take concrete action to guarantee that the rights and liberties of Lecistani people would be universally and equally respected. The present government often defaults on its duty to protect access to freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of assembly, the right to a fair trial, the right to privacy, and a wide variety of other rights and liberties. In order to prevent dictatorship and guarantee the freedom of the Lecistani people and nation, the Rally would fight to guarantee the recognition of these rights as vital and irrevocable in the basic laws of Lecistan.

However, when we say that Lecistan should be one and indivisible, we also mean that all of the many ethnic groups here should be treated with fairness and justice. In addition to ethnic Lecs, Lecistan is home to many ethnic Odissians, Michillians, and Filimen. And the simple truth is that this nation is just as much their home as it is the home of the Lecs. We are also religiously diverse, with Lutheran Catholic and Latin Orthodox Christianity coexisting alongside Judaism and other faiths. Ultimately, all of us- regardless of our religion, our ethnicity, or any other factor- can and must stand together for our nation. That's why, when we say we are a nationalist party, we do not mean ethnonationalist. We affirm that all Lecistani people can be patriotic, and that all of us have many valuable skills to give to our homeland. We must make sure that all ethnicities and religions in Lecistan have equal opportunity and are being treated uniformly and justly. In the words of a wise man, we must all live together as brothers or we will perish together as fools.

Lecistan is a diverse nation, composed of members of many ethnicities and religion. Unfortunately, there is a history of marginalizing many ethnoreligious groups in this country, as well as women and the poor. This exclusion ultimately weakens us as a nation, because individuals who could otherwise be contributing to our proserity, security, and liberty are unable to do so due to archaic and unjust restrictions. By removing these barriers to progress, we will strengthen ourselves and create a more perfect union. More people will be able to contribute their talents and their skills and their ideas to society, and more people will be able to stand and fight for our rights. And all of Lecistan's people will benefit as a result.

Defense - Service and Protection

The military and police are a great asset of the Lecistani nation. Composed of brave individuals who put their lives on the line for our security every day, there is no doubt that we will never be able to sufficiently thank these heroes for their sacrifices. They are patriots who will risk their own lives to defend the lives of their fellow countrymen- selfless, honorable, and dutiful. We are highly respectful and eternally thankful to these individuals, especially those who gave their all for their country, families, and homes.

As a means of fostering patriotism and guaranteeing our national security, it is obvious that these noble institutions must be expanded to protect the people and nation of Lecistan- especially as nations like Nevanmaa and Odissia seek to infringe upon our sovereignty. In the same way that the Lecistani people know best how to govern Lecistan, our soldiers and policemen best know how to defend her people. We must prevent foreign troops from placing our brave soldiers and policemen on the sidelines in their own homeland and expand the ability of our military to protect us from threats, both foreign and domestic. These heroes need our backing and our support, and the Rally is fully in favor of giving it to them so that they can continue to serve and protect us.

We must make sure that the military and police of Lecistan, however, place the rights and safety of the people of Lecistan before all else. These apparatuses do not exist to protect a select powerful few, or carry out the orders of foreign regimes; they exist to serve and protect the common man, the everyday Lecistani patriot. We must make sure that, before anything else, they are accountable for the defense of the people and the nation at all costs. This will heal the wounds created by police brutality and civil conflict, and help us move into a brighter era.

Independence - Keeping Our Future in Our Hands

Lecistan seeing her independence come under threat is not new. The Latin republics in what is now Michillies and Odissia and the Carlsbad monarchy and their attempts at genocide after the Kùmiéga Rebellion are without a doubt the most famous examples of foreign regimes attempting to enforce their wills upon the people of Lecistan. But this threat is not a threat of the distant past- it continues even into the present, taking new forms as faraway governments attempt to lay claim to Lecistan as though it were a piece of meat to be fought for by wolves. This threat is incredibly serious and is a large part of why the Rally was founded- the feeling that many other protest parties were not doing enough to guarantee our national sovereignty in face of foreign threats.

The main threat to Lecistani independence is Nevanmaa, a country whose ruler, Juhani III, rules Lecistan as Grand Duke Juchany I. Ostensibly, Nevanmaa and Lecistan are two separate realms ruled by the same man, but reality shows that this is not the case. Thousands of Nevan troops patrol our streets, harassing and terrorizing Lecistani citizens. Increasingly, the Nevan King seeks to rule by personal fiat here, against the will of the people. Only a few days ago, Nevan soldiers arrested thousands of Lecistani citizens, ripping them away from their families and homes, to try them in Nevanmaa under Nevan law by Nevan courts, undoubtedly to be convicted by kangaroo courts to face Nevan prison terms or Nevan executioners. If Lecistan were truly an independent nation, then none of these horrifying actions would be happening.

The Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty, as a result, advocates a severe alteration in our increasingly unequal relationship with Nevanmaa. This includes the abandonment of the Nevan markka in favor of a new Lecistani florin to guarantee our economic independence, the severance of treaties between the two countries such as the Nevan-Lecistani Friendship Treaty to return control of Lecistan from the halls of power in Nevanlinna to the hands of the Lecistani people, and increasing distance between Lecistan and Nevanmaa diplomatically. While perhaps radical, these are necessary actions to prevent our nation from becoming nothing more than a pawn or puppet of Nevanmaa. The future of the nation of Lecistan must be returned to the hands of the Lecistani people.

As mentioned earlier, we do advocate crowned republicanism. However, we do not believe that Juhani III should be Grand Duke of Lecistan. We do not feel that someone from the other side of the world could ever truly know how to respond to the wills and needs of the Lecistani people, or do what is truly best for the Lecistani nation. Instead, the Grand Ducal title should be held by a member of the House of Òłówski. Some may argue that this is foolish as all surviving members are members through the female line, but we believe that this is irrelevant, especially given the issues facing Lecistan. There is a simple undeniable truth that the members of the House of Òłówski knew Lecistan, her people, and her needs, far better than any member of the House of Kaarenmaa-Hennala ever will. The Grand Duchy of Lecistan must be returned to a Lecistani family and power must come back to Lecistan- where it belongs.

The other main threat to our sovereignty is much closer to home geographically: Odissia. The regime in Odissia has recently decided to reassert its "claim" to Lecistan, a claim that has historically been backed up by invading armies and outright genocide by a regime that was allied to Chorea during the Second Great War. While Sa Corugna is closer to Lecistan than Nevanlinna, that does not make them any more capable of ruling over us. Ultimately, submitting to Odissian hegemony would do the same thing that submitting to Nevan hegemony has already done- exacerbate our problems and harm our people. This is evident in the areas that were once considered part of Lecistan but have, for many years, remained under Odissian occupation. As a result, they are just as much a threat to us as Nevanmaa. We cannot risk reclaiming our sovereignty from Nevanmaa only to lose it to Odissia- we must stand up for our right to national self-determination and our independence, as patriots have for generations.

While Nevanmaa and Odissia are the two main nations presently unjustly attempting to rule Lecistan, we must at the same time approach other nations with caution and guarantee that they are treating us as equals, not pawns. Any study of world history reveals numerous examples of nations becoming puppets and pawns of nations like Luziyca, Namor, and the nations of the Triumvirate- arrangements that only benefited the imperial power at the expense of the smaller nation. We must sail a careful course to guarantee that we remain an independent nation that prioritizes its own people before foreign regimes.

Some individuals will undoubtedly call us isolationist or xenophobic. However, neither of these allegations is true. The Rally is not isolationist or racist. Our stance is a policy stance focused on guaranteeing the independence of the Lecistani nation from all foreign powers- Nevanmaa, Odissia, Luziyca, Namor, the Triumvirate, and all others alike- so that we can determine our own destiny. We simply believe that, when we work with foreign countries, we must make sure that we are being treated as their equals, and not as their pawns. Foreign nations need to respect our right to national self-determination and treat us with respect and fairness on the international stage. The Rally believes that Lecistan can and should exist as a nation valuing its many cultures and histories, but we do not believe that Lecistan must kowtow to foreign heads of state or proffer up its sovereignty as a concession to foreign regimes.

In the end, one thing is certain; the future of Lecistan cannot be sold or pawned off to far-off foreign regimes who do not understand the needs of the people of Lecistan. This is part of why we face many of the issues we presently do- because people who did not understand us, our situation, or our needs and desires came in and tried to run the country for us. It is no surprise that they have generally failed in guaranteeing our security, protecting our prosperity, or respecting our rights as people. Nobody knows Lecistan better than her people- and we must make sure that it is the people of Lecistan who are in control of the nation of Lecistan- their own nation.

Ultimately, if we fail to reclaim Lecistan's independence from foreign regimes, then we run the risk that all the progress we make will be reversed by individuals who think they know more about us than we do. And if we allow that to happen, then the consequences could very well be catastrophic.

14 Points for the Revival of Greater Lecistan

Image

Party Program for the National Socialist People's Community for Lecistani Revivalism

Preamble

We of the the National Socialist People's Community for Lecistani Revivalism proudly submit this party platform, which outlines the visions for a greater Lecistan. A Lecistan free from the tyranny of foreign intervention and able to forge its own path of destiny. The revival of a Greater Lecistan, led by true Lecs, towards a brighter and better future for true Lecs. When we divide ourselves on politics, we are easily taken in as puppets to foreign masters, but once we break free of these chains and united together under a common banner of national unity and the common good of all Lecs, then we shall march triumphantly ever onward until the end of days.

1. We demand the union of all territories of Lecistania under a single Lecistan which are currently under an aggressive and brutal military occupation by the Michillian-Odissian hegemony.

2. We demand the immediate removal of Juhani III, a foreign monarch, as our Grand Duke and crown a true blooded Lec as the Grand Duke of Lecs.

3. We demand that all of those of non-Lec blood be expelled from Lecistan immediately. All further immigration into Lecistan must be halted. Only those of true Lec blood are eligible to become citizens in our great nation.

4. We demand that all treaties with Nevanmaa, who have brought nothing but chaos and maltreatment to the people of Lecistan, are to be renounced immediately. We shall instead pursue diplomatic options with the Triumvirate, who will provide the necessary training for our defense and respect our rights as a sovereign nation and a sovereign people.

5. We demand the creation of a sound and strong military, to oppose the foreign powers who would seek to destroy us. The establishment of a national three-years national service program and the modernization of our armed forces is vital for the national security of Lecistan.

6. We demand the creation of the corporate state where interest between the workers and the businesses shall be served, with the State acting as mediator between the two.

7. In accordance with the principles of National Socialism, we demand the following:
    1. The nationalization of trusts and profit-sharing in large industries.
    2. That all unearned income be given back to the people.
    3. A sounder middle-class through the creation of an extensive social welfare system that well provide the necessary work and assistance needed to those struggling to make ends meet. The State must undertake the responsibility in ensuring that all Lecs are able to live and work decently according to prescribed standards.
    4. Profits made from war profiteering will be given back to the people as compensation.

8. So that all Lecs may obtain a necessary education, the State will take over responsibilities in setting and establishing and organizing the curricula. All Lecs shall have the ability to obtain an education at the State's expense.

9. The State will promote the health and well-being of the people through national youth and physical fitness programs and readily access to welfare centers.

10. We demand that all media and press which propagates lies and disseminates information for their own gain are to be ruthlessly suppressed for intellectual dishonesty.

11. We wage war against those who would seek to destroy our traditional customs and values we hold as true Lecs.

12. The expansion of the police forces and their powers to ensure the general peace and stability in accordance with the National Socialist doctrine.

13. The rights of the Lec people shall remain undisturbed, insofar as they do not bring harm or discredit to the Lec nation and the order and stability we hold so dear as a civilized people. We demand that the State follows a policy of the Common good before the Individual interest.

14. In order to see this vision of a Greater Lecistan through we demand: the creation of a strong central authority, united under the single banner of Lecistan, the unconditional authority of the Chambers and various State apparatuses, and the creation of the necessary instruments of the State to execute the laws created by the central authority.

The leaders of the party will work tirelessly to promote the following points, even until death if required, to serve the Lec people and nation.

Rally at the Center for the Odissian Arts
Léch Staniswônrzi kicks off his campaign outside the Center for the Odissian Arts today at Jelénik, addressing over a crowd of thousands, mainly ethnic Lec, Odissians & Filimons.

Image

He gave out his key points "Peace, Diplomacy, Harmony and Improvement" he said "are the key foundations for a better Lecistan. a Lecistan that needs to change. a Lecistan that needs to repent from sins. a Lecistan that is kind to it's neighbors & a Lecistan that is ethically, socially and linguistically diverse. This October, i want all of you to vote for me and LdSDeX . For the time has come, that we the people of Lecistan, whether or not Lec or Odissian, Catholic or Jew, establish tranquliity and justice and peace through the entire land. To make a choice, whether that we remain an independent state, or a part of an union with Odissia. To steer into the future instead of acting like the past, and to recover our economy and protect our nation from threats, whether it is Nevanmaa & her minions or that of the Triumvate. We will stop the genocides!. We will stop the dicatorship! We will stop the occupation!. We will protect the rights of minorities of workers, women and minorities! We will fix our broken economy! and we will have our voices and decisions heared!!!."

Then he yelled out his rallying cry "Abe złamacz jarzmo, i zmienicz ten kraj!" meaning "To break the yoke, and to change this country!"
The crowds repeated his words and then cheered with some flying flags of blue which is the symbol of LdSDeX, the tricolour flag of Lecistan that was used between 1945-47, and Odissia. They chanted "Get Nevanmaa out of here!", "Down with The General and the King!", & "Let's do it now!". They hold up signs mocking Juhani III and General Sáltucéri. And burned paper mache effigies of both leaders. Bands played a retouched version of Och Lekkëbë with newly-written lyrics promoting democracy and peace .

He then announced his decision to visit Odissia and negotiate with the the government on such issues as Lecistani sovereignty, the status of Nevanmaa's negative influence in South Conita & so much more. However, he will stop to meet with Chairman Luka Bendows of fellowing Lecistan Social Democrats party at Godnika to plan on forming a coalition.

This event was telecast live on Lecistani TV and around the world and so far has recieved over 3.2 million viewers, making it one of the largest-viewed telecasts on Lecistani TV.

Ricérzów
The Moderate Front rally, headed by leader Jùlian Król, brought on a somewhat large audience, although it was clear that party was bleeding supporters at this point. In fact, it seems the Ricérzów rally was the only major campaign for the party. The reason was laid out by Król in his speech.

"My fellow citizens, I stand here today with great, and important news. As of yesterday, the Moderate Front has struck a deal with the National Union for the Resurgence of Lecistan. We have joined the newly created National Unity Camp, a coalition of parties wishing for stability and unity in these troubling times. I, and I hope you hope, that we can create a new, stable, and free Lecistan! Long live the Moderate Front, and long live Lecistan!"

The rally was almost silent. No one expected the Moderate Front, once the voice of dissent and reform, to ally with what was clearly the most hated political grouping in the country. Some voices even threw slurs and complaints at Król, before leaving quickly.

Elsewhere, at the headquarters of ÙNdPL, leader Gúglelmo Mánti looked over the papers at his desk.
"We can do this?"
His assistant spoke up. "Sir, with your respect, we can do anything."
"Vey well. Send the documents to the police."

Within the hour, 500 people, mainly supporters of the Society of Socialists, Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty, and the Lecistani Social Democrats, were arrested and jailed, under the crime of conspiracy against the Grand Duchy. According to the reports, the leftist political parties were plotting to overthrow the Grand Duke after the elections. As such, the police had taken precautionary measures, arresting the higher-ups in the party, and placing the already tense elections on a tight lease.

If you're looking for the person who is now Lecistan, go here.

Hundreds arrested in crackdown on dissent; several Rally leaders jailed in act of repression

Image
Rally supporters hold a vigil for arrested leaders outside the party headquarters in Nowi Szimóngôcz, using cell phones in place of candles.

September 17th, 2015 | Nowi Szimóngôcz, Lecistan - More than five hundred people, including leaders and supporters of the Society of Socialists, Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty, and Lecistan Social Democrats have been jailed on fabricated charges in a blatant attempt to silence opposition parties, triggering mass protests from supporters of the Rally across the country.

Because he holds parliamentary immunity as a member of the Earldom Council for Brzny-Lùtórowo and said immunity has not been revoked, Łukôsz Grzéskowicz is presently not among the arrested; his location is unknown at press time, with the Rally refusing to give it "as a protest against this blatant attempt at political repression." A statement, written by Grzéskowicz, has been released by party leadership; in it, he identifies the arrests as "an outright assault on the rights and liberties of the Lecistani people," highlighting that the charges many leaders now face are likely fabricated. "I urge all supporters of the Rally, the Society, and the Social Democrats, as well as all other Lecistanis with any sense of conscience or of dignity, to go out and protest this unjust decision and fight against the dark path it puts us on... The people, united, will never be defeated. Make yourself heard, and eventually they will have to listen."

Many other leaders of the Rally, however, were not able to escape this blatant assault on the fairness of the upcoming elections. Vice-Chairman Cyryl Gniewek, Communications Director Władësłôw Niemczyk, Lower Rzëszù Regional Chairman Matéùsz Czãkowski, leader of the Rally's irredentist subfaction Janusz Adómkówski, and Trzëfarwa's own Chief Editor Gúglelmo Jóvannesci have all been arrested as part of the crackdown on free speech, as well as several regional and local leaders who belonged to the Rally's republican subfaction. Reports suggest they are possibly being denied access to their lawyers, which would render their trials unfair if confirmed. Many of the party's authorities have either selected interim leaders to replace them until they are released from their unjust detention, or simply voted to leave the positions empty until the arrested individuals are released from jail. Many of the individuals arrested were civilian volunteers working for the party in their spare time.

Many of the arrested leaders have also decided to protest in one of the few ways possible to prisoners of conscience: the hunger strike. According to reports, Gniewek, Niemczyk, Czãkowski, Jóvannesci, and several other arrested individuals have vowed to go on hunger strike in protest. Vice-Chairman Gniewek- who has been able to talk to his lawyer, apparently in contrast to many of the others- told aforementioned lawyer that he plans "to go on hunger strike until I'm out of this goddamned political prison." If the Sáltucéri regime refuses to back down and restore the freedoms it has crushed, then this could possibly become a protracted issue. Many hunger strikes turn lethal if they become extended affairs, and most international law prohibits the force-feeding of hunger strikers as inhumane and degrading treatment; historically, force-feeding has even been considered as torture.

Image
Vice-Chairman Cyryl Gniewek campaigning earlier this month; he is now in jail and set to go on hunger strike.

In response to the sweeping arrests, a brief statement from members of the National Committee who were not arrested by the regime attacked the supposed case established by the regime against the political prisoners, highlighting several worrisome irregularities and potential fabrications within the documents, as well as supposed events that could not have occurred due to the locations of the accused at the time the alleged events supposedly occurred. "It is obvious that these charges are falsified and fabricated in a blatant attempt to influence the outcome of the upcoming elections in a fashion that will silence the opposition and further the forces of oppression, repression, and foreign colonization in this country." The leadership of the Rally's irredentist faction and republican faction released a joint statement saying that "with their actions, Juhani Kaarenmaa-Hennala and Jóvanne-Márco Sáltucéri have effectively declared an all-out war against the people and nation of Lecistan, their rights, their opinions, their families, and their security... We will not bow to anyone who seeks to silence us. Instead, we will rise up in protest, no matter the risk."

And many supporters of the Rally- and undoubtedly of the Society and Social Democrats as well- have crowded the streets to call for the release not only of those abducted and arrested by Sáltucéri, but also the thousands imprisoned unjustly earlier this month by the Nevan regime in a so-called "anti-terror" operation and will now be tried and jailed in Nevanmaa under Nevanmaa's internationally infamous laws. Protesters have chanted slogans calling for the release of the imprisoned individuals, as well as the slogans of the Rally, Society, and Social Democrats. Thousands have gathered nationwide in cities like Szimóngôcz, Brzny, Ricérzów, Lùtórowo, Úchoj, and Jelénik to protest the decisions and call for change. "We believe that the government is acting to, you know, to try and shut us up," one protester in Nowi Szimóngôcz- where protesters have gathered to hold a vigil for arrested leaders outside the Rally's headquarters- told us. "But they can't do that. We're going to speak, and we're going to prove that we're going to speak."

The news has already gained some foreign attention, too, with Li Jian-Zheng- the leader of the National Rights and Liberties Index, an independent Qianrongese organization dedicated to evaluating human rights within Qianrong and around the world- describing the arrests as "all too familiar for me," referencing the Qianrongese Winter Rebellion, in which the self-declared Acting Chancellor Guo Tse-Zu had opposition activists and dissidents brutally beaten, arrested, and even killed through horrific means- including, in one instance, setting the building they were in on fire and shooting them as they fled- to try and prevent his eventual overthrow. "A blow to freedom like the one we've seen in Lecistan ultimately deals a blow to freedom across the entirety of Esquarium... it is my hope that the government in Lecistan returns to sanity and to decency, and releases these prisoners of conscience."

The regime has not responded to these statements or the protests, but many fear that they will attempt to crack down further on civil rights and civil liberties in Lecistan. But many protesters in Nowi Szimóngôcz told us that they would rather face arrest than stay silent. "This is a threat to the Lecistani people and to the Lecistani nation, and to everything we hold dear," one told us. "If I stayed silent, the repercussions in Lecistan would be terrifying. To stay silent would be letting my homeland die." Another said that "Sáltucéri, Mánti, and their goons need to be given a lesson in the will of the people... We have to send the message that we won't stand for their assaults on Lecistan."

Léch Staniswônrzi to be granted asylum in Odissia
Following the recent arrests of over 600 people who were arrested by the Nevan dictatorship and it's Lecistani puppets, including members of Society of Socialists, Lecistan Social Democrats and Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty.
Charman Léch Staniswônrzi of Leicstan for a Peaceful and Democratic Change, who was in Mantua, Odissia, has outright condemned the ongoing mass arrests as "pathetic, repulsive, cruel & criminalizing!" and says that he will be granted asylum by the Odissian government until the Grand Duchy "repents itself of it's sins." He also says that some of his inner circle are in hiding, and most of his supporters had fled towards the Odissian border. Speaking from the refugee camps there, he says that the Nevan government is outright "racist, xenophobic, supermenist and genocidal" as it has it's critically bashed race laws and it's inhumane treatment of minorities. He further warns that the Nevan government could soon join the Dark Side (referring to the Triumvate).

Meanwhile, he also criticized Lec irrendentism as "pointless & outdated" & says that Lecistan if it was a deomcratic nation, should not invade territories outside it's borders that has Lec ancestry. He blames the government of Nevanmaa for the Royal Wedding bombings and that should they have stopped the alleged pepratators, Nevanmaa would not have control of Lecistan.

He thanked Queen Caroline of Scotia for showing remorse and support to those 500 "souls" who had been kidnapped. He concluded his speech by saying his iconic rallying cry," Abe złamacz jarzmo, i zmienicz ten kraj" and then was driven in a car and greeted by hundreds of supporters, mostly ethnic Lec, with flags, baloons and ticker tape while on his way to Odissia's capital, Sa Corugna.

In the morning of September 22, the day of the national debate, a small letter had appeared at the headquarters of the National Socialist People's Community for Lecistani Revivalism, National Republican Party, Old Roots, the Lecistani Front for a New Technocratic Order, and the Lecistani Ethnic Front. In the letter, in the hand writing of National Union for the Resurgence of Lecistan chairman Gúglelmo Mánti, was a message.

Dear chairmen,
I am writing to you today to ask you a question of national security. Namely, we at the National Union for the Resurgence of Lecistan wish to inform you of a new coalition formed by us and the Moderate Front, the National Unity Camp. I humbly ask if you would be so inclined to join us in a coalition, so that stability and order can once again reign in Lecistan.

Sincerely,

Gúglelmo Mánti
Chairman of the National Union for the Resurgence of Lecistan

Meanwhile, the headquarters of the Society of Socialists were nearly empty as always. As volunteers began to pack the flyers and pamphlets, many knew the fate of the party. The loss of a leader hit the camp hard, and the recent attacks by the government confirmed what many feared. So, in an act of desperation, the nine deputies of the Royal Chamber loyal to the party announced, almost with a pain in their collective voices, that the Society of Socialists, built up to be a party of reform and activism, was hereby disbanded. The nine deputies officially joined the Lecistan Social Democrats at midnight, with all the party's assets and funds inherited to the Social Democrats. It seemed the pool of opposition was becoming ever and ever smaller.

NATIONAL DEBATE

Welcome to the national debate, held at the Grand Duke Krësztof I Òłówski Concert Hall in Szimóngôcz! Here, leaders of the parties can answer a few simple questions, and debate others.

Here are the questions:

1: With the economy worsening, how will you bolster Lecistan's economy?

2: Do you approve of expanding Lecistan's foreign relations, and do you wish to see Lecistan join any international organizations?

3: Do you approve of constitutional reform binding Lecistan closer to Nevanmaa? If so, how?

4: Do you approve of changing certain national symbols (flag, coat of arms, anthem, etc) to reflect the new royal dynasty?

5: How will you deal with the biting revanchism of the Odissians, and how can we maintain our sovereignty?

Thank you for answering!

I, Léch Staniswônrzi, is honored to take part in the debate. I'll answer some of these questions myself.

1: With the economy worsening, how will you bolster Lecistan's economy?
Trade agreements with other nations, aid, more funds.

2: Do you approve of expanding Lecistan's foreign relations, and do you wish to see Lecistan join any international organizations?:
If Lecistan becomes a part of Odissia, then it it's Odissia's job, but independent as a nation, I apporve. I will love to see Lecistan drift away from the tyranny of Nevanmaa & maybe restablish relations with such countries such as Odissia, Dolfradia, Namor & Michillies.
Mabye not any defense orginization, but a cultural or even an economic organization will be nice.

3: Do you approve of constitutional reform binding Lecistan closer to Nevanmaa? If so, how?:
I will be disappointed, I will not apporve bringing Lecistan closer to Nevanmaa. It is outrageous! Nevanmaa is bringing Lecistan under it's power so it will wreck havoc on the entire South Conita. As for the reforms, all will be failed because they will be misused by the government.

4: Do you approve of changing certain national symbols (flag, coat of arms, anthem, etc) to reflect the new royal dynasty?
No changes, but the one change i would most likely live to see is the tricolour flag from 1945-47. It is more usable as the flag for the Lec people then the flag we have now.

5: How will you deal with the biting revanchism of the Odissians, and how can we maintain our sovereignty?
Odissia is not taking a revanchist path, it is trying to find a solution to this crisis here, I know that the rulings declared that Lecistani sovereignty is illegal, but does not say anything about Lec self-determination being illegal. See, Lecistan has been a failed state for over 70 years, and does not show much improvement since then. So to mantain our sovereignty, we must conduct a refernedum that asks whether or not Lecistan should remain independent or a autonomous state of Odissia. The Odissian Assembly passed an organic law for Lecia, the Odissian name for our Nation, that will grant autonomy and an referundum. And would protect the Lewa script and Lec cultural heritage. Honestly, Odissia has refugee camps set for those Lec who are willing to flee the dictatorship our country has now. To sum all of it up, i see no wrong with Odissia. A bright future i will be looking for.

Taking a definite risk following the attempts by the government to repress his party, Rally leader Łukôsz Grzéskowicz shows up at the national debate, though his family remains in hiding.
Lecistan wrote:
NATIONAL DEBATE

Welcome to the national debate, held at the Grand Duke Krësztof I Òłówski Concert Hall in Szimóngôcz! Here, leaders of the parties can answer a few simple questions, and debate others.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I am honored to be standing before you all on this beautiful night. Firstly, I'd like to thank the people who have stood by the Rally in spite of attempts by opponent to slander us with false accusations and fabricated charges. I thank those of you who have come out in the streets to make your voices heard, and recognize your dedication and your passion. I urge you to keep up your campaigns of peaceful protest, and to keep making your voices heard against repression. And to my fellow Rally members in narrow jail cells, I stand with you in spirit as you fight against the blatantly false charges that have been laid against you. We will not leave you behind. We will stand behind you as you fight against injustice and oppression."

"And to those of you here in the building or following this debate on television or radio, and who are undecided or are considering the Rally but are not sure of your choice, I urge you to educate yourself, and to rely on facts and reason, not slander and libel. Feel free to visit our website, or to inquire at one of our many local offices, or speak to average people like yourselves who have made the decision to stand for their rights and for their future. I will do as much as I can to explain the platform of my party, and to explain why it is a platform that will benefit all citizens of our great nation. I hope that I will be able to win your votes tonight so that the Rally can get to work creating a better, richer, freer future for this nation of ours."

"Now, of course, I'm nowhere near the entirety of the Rally- the true strength of the Rally is its supporters, dedicated citizens who are taking time out of their busy everyday lives to make their voices heard and to spread the word. But I do have a certain control over it as its leader, and I've tried to make it a party for as many Lecistanis as possible. I've learned a lot about this country serving the people of Lùtórowo South as a member of the Brzny-Lùtórowo Earldom Council. I was elected in 2005 and reelected in 2011, and I remain a member of the Council, but I've done as much as possible to avoid becoming distant from the Lecistani people, because the governments of Lecistan and its provinces exist to serve you- not themselves, not foreign regimes, but you. This nation's greatest strength, its greatest asset, is its people. Seeing the bravery, the honor, the dedication of the people of Lecistan has been an inspiration to me, and I've sought for years to stand for the common man- people like yourselves with down-to-earth concerns and day-to-day lives, who may seem ordinary but are in fact some of the most extraordinary people to have ever walked this planet. Myself and the other members of the National Committee of the Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty have worked to guarantee that our party's platform and organization are structured around alleviating the concerns of the people. Many of us, like myself, have worked for years to stand for the people and families of Lecistan- and we hope to take that quest to the national level. Before anyone else, we will hold ourselves accountable to you; before anything else, we will seek to guarantee the security of your finances, your freedoms, and your future."

"It is my hope that you will recognize the power that you all hold. You may think it is not much, but when the Lecistani people are truly united as one, in spite of gender, class, church, or ethnicity, then there is no force that can stop us. What the people of Lecistan must do this Election Day is stand up for our rights, stand up for our independence, and stand up for our future. We must defend the blessings we have been given by God, endeavor towards a more perfect union, and guarantee that the Lecistani people are prosperous, free, and in control of their own future."
Here are the questions:

1: With the economy worsening, how will you bolster Lecistan's economy?

"The present economic crisis, not just in Lecistan but across all of Esquarium, is based in one thing: fear. People are afraid that they will lose their jobs, that they won't be able to provide for their families and children, that they won't be able to keep a roof over their heads or the utilities running or food on the table. When people are afraid for their financial security, they save up money in preparation for a worst-case scenario. This is money that no longer flows through the economy, meaning that business owners no longer have the money necessary to keep their practices open. They're forced to cut jobs, or shut down locations, or both. Hearing of job cuts and struggling businesses further increases fear, which further decreases the amount of money flowing through the economy, and this creates a vicious cycle that harms all aspects of our society, especially the hard-working families that serve the basis of our economy and our society."

"What we must do is attack that fear. If we create a social security net, guaranteeing that people will have unemployment assistance, medical benefits, pensions, a minimum wage, housing assistance, food stamps and vouchers, veteran benefits systems- if we guarantee these things, then people won't have to worry about whether or not they can pay the rent or the utilities. They can be confident that they'll have money to spend, and that they can spend it without fear. That means more money flows into our economy, which means that Lecistani businesses do better, and are able to employ more people and expand their operations. News of financial success further dispels fear and spreads hope and economic security across Lecistan, meaning more people will feel comfortable with spending their money, meaning more money will flow into our economy, and so on and so on."

"If we are to truly tackle the economic issues of Lecistan, we must have a government that does not default on its duty to protect the Lecistani people. If we take the actions proposed by the Rally, then we will dispel the fear and paranoia that caused this crisis, and thus guarantee that there will be brighter, more fortunate days to come in Lecistan. And ultimately, all parts of our country would benefit from this increased prosperity, from the bottom to the top. If the Lecistani people allow the Rally to guarantee that the common citizen can feel secure in his finances, then we are already on the path to recovery."
2: Do you approve of expanding Lecistan's foreign relations, and do you wish to see Lecistan join any international organizations?

"Some of the opponents of the Rally have attempted to misconstrue us as xenophobic or isolationist. This could not be further from the truth. Myself and the other members of the Rally support an open, democratic Lecistan in which all of our homeland's people can live together in brotherhood. And we are fully supportive of engaging in trade and even in alliances with foreign nations- so long as we are being treated as an equal, and not as a puppet."

"The history of the people of Lecistan is that of a people struggling to preserve their sovereignty, their liberty, and their prosperity. This goes back all the way to the days when the Lec people lived in what is now Katranjiev, and continued in the struggles against the Latin republics and their successors, and the long-running struggle against Odissian imperialism and demographic manipulation. We are now fighting it against an Odissian government that once again seeks to occupy our lands and force us into submission, and against a distant regime from the other side of the world that blatantly interferes in the administration of our nation in a fashion that has left hundreds if not thousands of Lecistanis dead, and has done grievous harm to the Lecistani nation. The widely multiethnic and scientifically advanced Lecistan that we live in may be very different from the world of the 500s, but the struggle remains the same- and I will not stand by idle so long as this threat persists. It is my hope that Lecistanis of all stripes will stand beside me in these times."

"That does not mean that a Rally Lecistan would be isolationist or xenophobic. Quite the contrary- we would gladly pursue trade and diplomatic nations across Esquarium, on one condition: that we are treated as a free people and as their equals. The other nations of Esquarium must respect the rights of the Lecistani people and the national right to self-determination, and all relationships we engage in will be relationships in which the future of Lecistan will remain in the hands of the people who know Lecistan best- Lecistanis themselves. The Lecistani nation is a sovereign nation, and must be treated as an equal amongst the ranks of the world. We will not kowtow to foreign heads- in Nevanlinna, in Sa Corugna, or anywhere else. We will not be reduced to pawns in some great political game. The Lecistani people need to let every nation in Esquarium know, whether they wish us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, and oppose any foe in order to assure the survival and the independence of the Lecistani people. Lecistan needs leaders who know the wants and needs of the Lecistani people; this duty cannot be fulfilled by Nevanmaa, Odissia, or any other foreign nation."

"If foreign nations are willing to treat us as true equals in trade and in alliance, and not as playthings or puppets or breakaway provinces, then the Rally will gladly offer the olive branch. If not, if they demand that we proffer up our sovereignty as a gift or a sacrifice, then we will look elsewhere and work to defend the basic rights held by the Lecistani citizenry as a sovereign people. There is no real alternative."
3: Do you approve of constitutional reform binding Lecistan closer to Nevanmaa? If so, how?

"Absolutely not. What the Lecistani government needs to be doing is distancing itself from the Nevan regime, returning power over this country to Lecistan, where it belongs. We need to reinstate the Lecistani florin, sever the Lecistani-Nevan Friendship Treaty, increase the power and authority of individuals who actually know about what's going on in Lecistan and were selected by the Lecistani citizenry and return several positions- including the ducal throne- to Lecistani hands, and reject the discriminatory laws on many demographics that have made Nevanmaa something of a pariah state for decades and that threaten to turn us into one as well. We should be moving away from the Nevan Realm, not closer towards it."
4: Do you approve of changing certain national symbols (flag, coat of arms, anthem, etc) to reflect the new royal dynasty?

"Alter the symbols that our ancestors fought and died to preserve in the interest of appealing to some far-away foreigner who seems to barely understand Lecistan, given that most of his interferences in our domestic affairs have been greatly harmful to the livelihoods and well-beings of the Lecistani people? Never in a million years. The symbols of our nation are not the symbols of Nevanmaa, or the House of Kaarenmaa-Hennala. They are the symbols of Lecistan; they represent its land and its people, and that's how it is supposed to be."

"Our forefathers fought and died to fly the Kumiega flag when we rebelled against Odissia, the tricolor we used during the Second Great War, and the striped banner that now serves as the flag of our country. To alter those symbols of our great nation to accommodate a foreign despotate would be to profane their memories and would be an assault on everything they fought for- liberty, self-determination, justice, independence, the future of Lecistan itself. No, I would not see the symbols of this nation altered for that reason."
5: How will you deal with the biting revanchism of the Odissians, and how can we maintain our sovereignty?

"Odissian revanchism is the second greatest threat to Lecistani sovereignty, behind only the increasing tendency of many in this country's government to place the will of Nevanlinna ahead of the wants and needs of the Lecistani people. The decision of the Odissian government to reassert a claim to Lecistan, which they have not controlled since they lost the Second Great War and whose rule was marked by political repression and attempted ethnic cleansing and demographic manipulation, should be greatly worrying to the people of Lecistan. Fortunately, many foreign governments have spoken out against this blatant attempt by Odissia to reinstitute imperial rule over Lecistan in violation of the national right of the Lecistani people to self-determination. Unfortunately, Odissia is not listening to anyone but themselves."

"Some will claim that the Odissians have made a good-faith outreach in recent days and weeks, but I personally doubt this. Their so-called 'organic law' would still force the Lecistani people and government to kowtow to a foreign government, and their claims to support self-determination for the people of Lecistan seem questionable at best, given both their history and that their treatment of regions of Odissia with significant Lecistani populations do not reflect the 'organic law' they claim to endorse. It strikes me more as a gambit to lower the guard of the Lecistani people."

"Regardless, the Odissians know as little about how to run Lecistan as the Nevans- that is, they know nothing. Bureaucrats in Sa Corugna are as capable as noblemen in Nevanlinna at running Lecistan- that is, not at all. Put bluntly, the Odissian government does not and simply cannot know the wants and needs of Lecistan, certainly nowhere near to the extent of people who actually live in Lecistan. They represent a challenge to the sovereignty of the Lecistani people and nation, and the Lecistani people need to stand against all groups that would seek to wrest our future and our homeland out of our hands."
Thank you for answering!

"No, thank you. It was an honor to get the privilege to speak to the most important people in Lecistan- the voters- as this critical day moves ever-closer. I will close by simply saying that the choice the people face is incredibly important, and that it is my hope they will choose the party that stands for a Lecistan united in brotherhood formed by liberty and prosperity- the Rally for Lecistani Sovereignty. Thank you all, and have a good night."

Edit 1: I forgot the answer to the first question

Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for inviting me to this national debate. I am honored to be here tonight and to give more insight into myself and my party. I would like to thank the moderates for hosting this debate. I would like to thank those who have supported us from the very start and have made us into a national movement. I would then finally like to thank my family, who have support me through out the many years I have been with them. My beautiful wife, my two sons, and my daughter. I love you all so very much.

These elections represent a defining moment in our nation. For too long Lecistan has been under the threat of foreign domination. Now we see this domination come into fruition. Presently a foreign monarch sits on the ducal throne, as his troops police our streets with their jackbooted, unicorn helmets, detaining people who would dare speak out for a free Lecistan from a foreign tyrant that sits in his own throne across the world. On our borders, jingo-minded madmen ramp up the gears of war as they claim that they have the supposed "right" to rule us through military domination. Lecistan now faces two clear paths. Will we continue down the road of being dominated by foreigners, being nothing but playthings for the powers that be in their "Lecistan sandbox", or will we go down that they try to block. The road that will lead us towards a free Lecistan where we united as a Lec people to determine our own future for our nation.

The NLPdÒL is that road. We are the party that will guarantee Lecistan's security and it's success as a free and independent nation, united under a common banner of true Lecs. We all share the common goal to see the betterment of our nation. So why do we not take this road? Lecs, I urge you in these coming elections to support the path of independence and prosperity. The path that will see the ridding of foreign despotism and policing of our nation. The path that will guarantee security in both physically and in spirit. I urge you to vote for Lecistan's revival.

1: With the economy worsening, how will you bolster Lecistan's economy?

The road for economic recovery is like that of tightrope walking. If you veer too far off to either the left or the right, you will fall and face the same disastrous consequences. Instead there must be a balance between the left and the right. The NLPdÒL takes the aspects of both sides and follows the middle path. We will take the concept of private property and individual initiative from the right, but we will combine it with the concept of "common good before the self" and a social security net from the left. This balance between capitalism and socialism is the economic policy that the NLPdÒL will take.

The creation of the corporate state, an organic society where the interests groups of our nation such as artisans, farmers, industrialists, intelligentsia, military, laborers, and so on will be group according to their ability and common interests. Each group will function as a separate "organ" of the national "body", with the state acting as the "brain", guiding them first towards the overall purpose of the common good before the individual interests. We recognized that we won't be able to break the barriers of class, but we can increase the cooperation between each of the classes to work together for the people's community.

The State must also take a more active role and interest in the education system. The future of the nation depends on our youth to be properly educated. We must invest into more modern textbooks, learning materials, set higher standards for the curricula, improve facilities for extracurricular activities. With this would also include investment into national libraries into modernizing them as well. With this investment into the education and mental development, the state should also promote physical development through national gymnastics programs, youth organizations, and promote a healthier physical body and spirit. With these investments into our nation's educational, mental, physical, and spiritual health, we can have a new generation of healthier, happier, and more productive citizens we can guarantee the success of our nation to continue one stronger than we could even imagine.

2: Do you approve of expanding Lecistan's foreign relations, and do you wish to see Lecistan join any international organizations?

As it stands, Lecistan is currently under the rule of a foreign monarch on the other side of the Earth, herding us around like slaves to foreign laws and usurping our national sovereignty. The last I had checked, colonialism was a dead concept, and that sovereign nations are to govern themselves according to their own laws, not the ones created by a foreign tyrant. The influence that Nevanlinna has in our government is absurd and is a humiliating defeat on us as a nation state and as a people. I ask you, people of Lecistan, why do we continue to let ourselves be bulled by foreign troops repressing our freedoms and our national spirit? Why do we allow these jackboot thugs run around in our streets, arresting our country men because they want to see a Lecistan free from foreign domination? Just recently many of our countrymen and women were arrested simply because they voice discourse with the current system of foreign tyranny imposed on an independent people. Because we oppose a foreign nation's attempt to use our country as a sand box for their "Monarch", we are to be detained without trial or cause simply because we express our right to self-determination as an independent people and nation.

I may not have agreed with many political aspects of the detained, but this travesty of foreign troops being authorized to detain our fellow countrymen and women is disgusting and immoral. It is not something we should stand for as true Lecs. We must stand up, vigilant, and ready to defend the rights of our fellow Lec brothers and sisters against this foreign tyranny. There is no one more suitable to lead the Lec nation than the Lec people themselves. It is only us, not foreign monarchs in Nevanlinna, not jingo-minded madmen in Sa Córugna, and not a warmongering president in Christiana. We must remove this foreign monarch from our throne and give it to a Lec noble. We must remove his troops, who police our streets and use foreign laws to justify their crimes, from our streets and return them to the Lec people. Only the Lec people will be able to determine the future of Lecistan.

In the realm of Foreign affairs, I have expressed my interest and willingness to work with that of the Triumvirate alliance. As controversial as it may seem to many, the Triumvirate is in fact more respecting than any alliance of a nation's sovereignty. The Triumvirate's own treaty expressively states that the internal matters of nations are not to be interfered by any member state. Alon with this, there are the defensive pact clauses that will guarantee the protection of our nation should any foreign power try to invade us. We will have also Esquarium's most powerful militaries and brightest leaders on our side to help develop ours into a more modern and capable fighting force. Their military commanders can aid us in the quality of standards in our training and with technical proficiency with our equipment. Then finally, there is the mutual economic cooperation pact of the treaty that will give us several main trading partners who can assist us in economic development. We can have all of this without sacrificing not even a millimeter of our national sovereignty.

3: Do you approve of constitutional reform binding Lecistan closer to Nevanmaa? If so, how?

We absolutely cannot support any constitutional measure of the sort. Our "closeness" with Nevanmaa is the exact reasons for the problems we are facing, and is nothing more than this foreign monarchs attempts to further place our nation under his rule to act as a colonial sandbox for his sick and twisted games. He does not care for us, our families, our soldiers, or our land. He simply sees us as a tool to further his own demented agenda. This constitutional reform should instead move us away from Nevanmaa and rescind any treaties we have with them.

4: Do you approve of changing certain national symbols (flag, coat of arms, anthem, etc) to reflect the new royal dynasty?

At this point I am going to be repeating myself, but I will make my point on this clear. We should not be sacrificing our national symbols that represent our people and our nation to appease some foreign monarch so that he may feel "happy" about himself. We are Lecistan, not Nevanmaa's puppet or Odissia's territory. We are an independent nation and we have our own symbols that represent out land. The actions proposed to remove our sovereignty, to bow to a foreign king, to effectively become a Nevan puppet, are considered treason in most states, yet we accept it here. The actions proposed to remove our sovereignty, to bow to a foreign king, to effectively become a Nevan puppet, are considered treason in most states, yet we accept it here. This new royal dynasty has done nothing but bring chaos and humiliation to our nation.

5: How will you deal with the biting revanchism of the Odissians, and how can we maintain our sovereignty?

The threat of the Odissian's is one that can be solved by following the foreign policy directive I have earlier stated. When we join the ranks of Esquarium's most powerful states, Odissia will think note twice, but three times before they dare do anything against us. They act no better than the Nevans who think they can boss us around like their playtoy to use in their jingoist agenda. I will stand firm against any attempt by Odissia, or any nation for that matter, who tries to usurp our sovereignty from the Lec people.

Thank you for answering!

Thank you, respected moderators for hosting this debates tonight. I look forward to the rest of this campaign.

I again ask the Lec people, are you going to let some foreign monarch dictate to you how you should be governed. How you should be praising a foreigner for ruling your land with an iron fist? How long will we continue to let foreign troops push us around? Will it take us sacrificing everything that makes us a Lec for us to realize this? You can still reverse this loss of honor. This coming election, vote for the path that will take Lecistan towards a better, more prosperous future where we, the Lec people, will determine our own future, and not the rabble of jingoistic foreigners. Vote for the National Socialist Community.

Respected Chairman Mánti,

As the leader of the National Socialist Community for Lecistani Revivalism, I speak on behalf of the whole of the party when i say we are honored by your offer of a coalition with us. National security is indeed most needed in these trying times, now more than ever. A united front for Lecistan, free from divisive politics, leftist agitators and republicans, would bring the necessary stability needed to effectively govern.

If I may, however, be so honest and blunt with you, Mr. Chairman, I am still uncertain of the path you wish to take our proud nation on. I, like so many others, left the ÙNdPL because we became frustrated at the parties willingness to let us be subjugated by a foreign monarch and his troops. In order to fully accept this invitation to a coalition, I must be assured that we will see our nation freed from this domination by foreigners. Secondly, I request that we see the implementation of our National Socialist party program as best as we can in cooperation with your party program as much as possible in the best interests of our country. Lastly, I humbly ask that we be promised governmental positions should we, the NLPdÒL, perform well enough in the election. If we do not, then I will not press this matter further.

If these conditions can be safely met, with honor and integrity, then I will accept your request for a governing coalition

Sincerely,

Wicus Wilczewski
Chairman for the National Socialist People's Community for Lecistani Revivalism
