No, you can't vote unless you send an entry.

Kultaiset Pievos - Rushing Through The Dark
Tune: Lady Antebellum - Long Stretch Of Love

TÖBUK's climactic "Sinun Valintasi" national final ended with WorldVision veterans Kultaiset Pievos rising above the rest with their song "Rushing Through The Dark". With top points from a stunning 5 out of 7 international juries, the entry quickly shot to the top of the rankings and held on to its spot till the end, with a comfortable margin to spare. While the broadcaster contemplated having an internal jury contribute to the final, too much of the nation's WorldVision fandom, both inside and outside TÖBUK's offices, had divided up into devotees of certain entries for an unbiased vote to be feasible. Still, each entry had great potential on the WorldVision stage, and the widespread support for Kultaiset Pievos might possibly indicate (as TÖBUK fervently hopes) a similar spread of support in the voting.

Results:
Kultaiset Pievos - Rushing Through The Dark 50 points
VArkki - Memories 39
Momoko Krebs - Screaming No 35
SuuriKuusi - Sun Returns 33
Daiki Mustonen - Beyond The Light 26
Tekata ft. Frauke - Heart's Desires 14
E. Kranz - And I Die 6

You know WorldVision takes over your life when you hear your entry on an advert and get excited.

In other news, Hugo Boss have featured Max Ønarsson's Unconscious in their new campaign.

Question, does the 80 percent rule mean 80 percent of the submitted song has to be rewritten lyrics, or 80 percent of the original song has to be changed for WorldVision? The Santaclausisgodistan entry is basically the original 12 Days of Christmas plus another 353 verses that are original. It easily complies with the former, but fails the latter miserably as 0 percent of the original lyrics have been changed.

And I will be very unhappy if I wrote 365 verses and I can't use any of them, so please don't disqualify it due to ambiguous rules.

Sounds all right to me. The ruling is there to ensure that it's not a copy and paste job: basically, to ensure effort is made. So if you're writing an extra 353 verses it will be OK.

Can we at least know when new rules come in, or at least have some community discussion about the rules? (Though I want to point out that I am absolutely fine with all of them). I have absolutely no idea when Rules 9-11 came in (if there was discussion on it then please ignore), because I remember there being eight rules for the longest time...

9 - probably one of the rules which only exists because someone did the thing forbidden in it. in other words, someone who wasn't a commitee member, at some point, probably posted the results. somebody would've done it eventually, really

10 - i forgot what edition but at some point a bunch of NS Sports regulars wanted to participate at WV and somehow managed to not end peacefully. one regular took a break from the contest even though it was pure OOC argument. a rule definitely had to be made for this because this ended with mod intervention

11 - actually... i've never seen this one either but it does make sense

I wish Committee members would be consulted before new rules (such as #11) were added. I don't object to it, but nothing like that has ever, to my knowledge, actually happened, so I don't know why somebody felt it was needed. I recognize the other rules from prior editions of WV.

I know I'm inactive at the moment (and would have been more inactive if I didn't have a month worth of pre-existing NS Sports hosting commitments to finish up), but I will still be around at least every few days and can be reached via IRC if something requires my attention immediately (I recommend pinging or direct messaging me while I'm signed on to ensure I see it).

The plagiarism rule was that at least 50% of the lyrics had to be rewritten, for a long while. Sometime in the last few editions, someone changed it.

The previous Committee introduced some "blanket" clauses in order to prevent things like #11, which it was suggested to us happened but nothing came out of it. Rule 9 (and 1) was listing some existing rules that Ekoz, who had designed the new OP, omitted. And yes, 10 was as a result of an incident like it.

Spoiler alert.... WorldVision 43 will probably feature the Smashing Xylocarps, who will smash xylocarps (aka coconuts) on stage while they perform. But first, you get to enjoy Lord Almighty Gregory and King Petrus XX Impersonator whatever. Never before has God himself performed at WorldVision. This will be remarkable. Or so the State Press would have you believe....

Your state press obviously doesn't know history :p

I have a suggestion for the committee - would it be possible to keep signups open until the host is announced/opens the IC thread? But in that case only nations/users who have signed up before host voting opens could vote. It's just a suggestion though. Looking forward to tomorrow's result :)
