Yaser Ramsharaff, SDU Presidium member has declared the Akbar Ministry Dissolved
CHAOS IN THE CAPITAL: RAMSHARAFF DECLARES AKBAR OUSTED

URGENT NEWS UPDATE

This issue of the Tehran Daily Mail has been published under great duress. Tehran has been thrown into chaos as the SDU Presidium has supposedly voted to remove Akbar as party leader and therefore as Prime Minister. With the support of new police units, the "CLIQUE OF FIVE", members of the SDU Presidium have declared that the Akbar Ministry had violated the law code and the SDU by laws and had delegitimized itself to the people. The ringleader of the plotters, Yaser Ramsharaff has accused Prime Minister Akbar of "centralization of power, anti-party activities, and Bonapartism." He has declared himself the "Interim Prime Minister" and declared Prime Minister Akbar an enemy of the state. With the support of crack police units, the city has been closed off and the Parliament shut down. The rank and file of the SDU parliamentary caucus, who possess the true power in the party, are largely believed to be loyal to Akbar, and have been shut off. The Cabinet, a body fiercely loyal to the Prime Minister has also been cut off. The Party Presidium headquarters is believed to the base of the coup plotters. Yes, we declare it a COUP. The headquarters of this publication is currently surrounded, but communications are still online. The Staff headquarters of the Armed Forces has not been surrounded, and reports have emerged that the Tehran Military District has been mobilized. The Prime Minister apparently is racing back from his headquarters in Syria, and the state of affairs is very much in doubt.

The Army has seized Tehran!
Hashemi's officers seize the apparatus of State!

URGENT NEWS UPDATE

The Clique of Five have been crushed! Army units in the capital were mobilized just hours ago under direction of Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Sharif Hashemi, and infantry in the capital immediately relieved the police of their posts throughout the capital. All units surrendered without resistance. Police on the periphery of the city threw down their guns as armored units bypassed their checkpoints. Field Marshal Sharif Hashemi has not spoke publicly, but the SDU Presidium has been put under siege by the army. No large scale fighting as broken out, but armed men in civilian clothing flaunting Kalashnikovs in the capital engaged in light firefighters with beat officers. Nobody is quite sure what is happening, and the whereabouts of the Prime Minister are unknown. Some reports indicate he has been assassinated or placed under arrest by the army or by traitorous elements of his personal guard. The Parliament is still under lockdown by the army, but food and water is being allowed in. Not so at Presidium headquarters. Is this a coup?

Bundesliga, Eredivisie, and Belgium Division A, agree to merger. 2025-2026 season will be the last these leagues remain independent!

After months of speculation and uncertainty it was jointly announced today by the 3 leagues that a merger would take place in exactly a year from today. Not a lot is known about the merger so far other than the new league is currently in talks with UEFA about how future Europa and Champions League qualifications will work.

What is known however is the German 50+1 rule has been carried over into the new league currently being called 'Hauptliga' or 'Major League'. The League will also become the largest of the major countries in European football with a 21 team league and 40 match days. Relegation will also work the same it did in the Dutch and German leagues with the bottom 2 teams being replaced by the top 2 teams from the league below while the 3rd from last in the top league and 3rd place team from the 2nd league will play in a relegation playoff game.

Early predictions can be made that Ajax and PSV will now give German Giants Borrussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, and Bayern Munich an additional challenge in the Hauptliga meaning should UEFA keep its 4 teams into the champions league policy, 1 major club will be left out every year adding to the additional drama.

Finally its already been released that the top 10 teams from the Belgium 1st and Eredivise leagues will make up the 1st league while 11 German teams will make up the league to begin with

Akbar's motorcade returned to Parliament, where he declared the Republic had been restored
THE RETURN OF AKBAR

With units of the Army in control of the capital it was uncertain where the country would go. Was this the return of the junta? Nobody could tell. Rumors began to spread that the Prime Minister had been executed by enemies in the military, even that an army of the 100,000 Islamists was marching in the capital, the most fantastical that the deceased Ali Khamenei was leading them, returned from a supposed long term hiding. Fortunately, these lies were proven as such, lies. With the capital under control, peace and order where restored. Field Marshal Sharif Hashemi gave no speech declaring his purposes, and nobody was quite sure what was going on. Then the news came. Akbar was back. The Prime Ministerial motorcade arrived in the capital with tank and motorcycle escort and soon a massive cheering crowd. Though the recent reforms were massively controversial, the Prime Minister still possesses many devoted supporters due to his now 9 year leadership over the Republic. The crowd welcomed him into the capital, cheering and flag waving. The army soldiers stationed in the capital guarded his route directly to Parliament. Across the city, order was maintained by the army. Islamist gangs attempted to seize police stations in the southern section of the city, but these poorly coordinated attempts were put down. The siege of the SDU Presidium building was ended was the building was emptied of people. The Clique of Five, including ringleader Yasser Ramsharaff surrendered and all five have been arrested for plotting against the Republic. In Parliament, Akbar delivered a speech where he condemned the plotters in his own party who acted against the state and democratic assembly. He declared that "no conspiracy to undermine the people's will and the Republican government shall ever succeed. The Republic is forever, the Republic is iron. No jewel studded Shah or lunatic extremist shall ever rule over proud Persians again." He received applause on his speech from the Parliament despite silence from UIC deputies who open describe Akbar as a tyrant. It truly seems Persia's democratic tradition has solidified over the years. While some SDU deputies are believed to have been connected to the plot, a full investigation is expected to commence. Akbar condemned the plotters "for manipulating law enforcement unlawfully to their side" and accused them of "tearing up existing SDU by laws to suit the nature of their malevolent plots." The Republic endures! Field Marshal Sharif Hashemi finally spoke, declaring that his previous silence had been due to a concern for operational security. He also said "the actions of the army were entirely directed by the supreme commander Davud Akbar. He posses a great strategic mind. Communications were never cut off, the coup plotters and Islamist brigands foolish though the army would betray the Republican order. An order which we pledge to the utmost to defend."

Protector of the Republic Davud Akbar has full control
AKBAR TAKES EMERGENCY POWERS

The Federative Council met this morning to discuss the events of the last week in relevance to the entirety of the nation. From the mountains of Khorasan to the Mediterranean sea. The Federative Council made immense decisions effecting to future of the Federative Republic of Persia. The Council voted unanimously, in it's duties as defender of this multiethnic Republic on numerous motions. These motions are as a whole titled "Council Directive #1"

1. To Grant Prime Minister Davud Akbar the temporary title of "Protector of the Republic"
2. To Grant Prime Minister Davud Akbar supreme, unconditional authority over the Armed Forces of the Republic
3. To Grant Davud Akbar supreme, unconditional authority over the police forces of the Republic
4. To Grant Davud Akbar temporary super-legal authority to annihilate all threats to the democratic order, be they external or domestic
5. To Grant Davud Akbar temporary authority over the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and the Federal Budget
6. To Grant Davud Akbar a mandate to wield these powers on a strict temporary basis until authority is safe to be returned to Parliamentary authorities
7. To Temporarily designate the People's Assembly, the Parliament of the Republic as an advisory body until authority can be returned to Parliamentary authorities

The power granted to the Prime Minister is sweeping and significant. The Federative Council is made up of Akbar's supporters, and with it being unanimous, this cannot be overruled by a vote of Parliament. Parliament has objected furiously to these measures, claiming that Akbar means to make himself a dictator. An anonymous SDU MP said to reporters, "this is the end of the Republic. Davud Akbar has betrayed the people, it's all over. The Republic is at an end." UIC MPs were not anonymous. Saeed Jalili thundered out to his supporters in the streets, "the tyrant Akbar means to consolidate all authority around himself, and end the democratic system. He seeks the rule of Akbar as a god amongst men, but Davud Akbar IS NOT GOD. And we will have only the rule of one God, who is most almighty and most merciful!" Protestors and Akbarists clashed in the street as the capital once again was thrown into tumult. Davud Akbar gave a televised addressed accepting his new authorities. He said, " It is with great reluctance that I have agreed to this calling. I love democracy. I love the Republic. The power you give me I will lay down when this crisis has abated. And as my first act with this new authority, I will create a Republican Guard, to counter the increasing threat of anti-Democratic forces." The army has begun the coordination of a Republic Guard unit with a similar nature to the IRGC, but legally under the authority of the Parliament, instead of a separate military infrastructure, and part of Ministry of Defense the army superstructure to avoid what happened in the case, where the IRGC warred against the army. The new organization would serve under the government, parliament, and the army to maintain the democratic order. Some have called it an attempt to consolidate Akbar's powers, other say it is well meaning. Akbar repeatedly pledge that "this is a temporary measure. I despise autocracy. I have spent my life fighting autocracy. This is a constitutional measure that will remain constitutional. No Prime Minister can claim to be a dictator. This authority will return to Parliament or it will be on my head." Long live the Protector!

Ministry of Economic Development announces plan for revolutionary Innovation City in Lombardy

Today the Ministry of Economic Development announced its plan to open up over 6km2 of land on the outskirts of the city of Novara in Lombardy to the development of a new Innovation City. The development will be lead almost entirely by the private sector according to the MiSE with only road layouts and utility connections provided by the government. The Innovation City has been especially planned with autonomous vehicles in mind, with a grid layout and several roundabouts accompanied by cutting edge road markings that have been designed to give greater accuracy and guidance to autonomous vehicles. With this in mind, Innovation City will be the first purpose built city for autonomous vehicles in Europe and possibly the world, with most Italian car manufacturers already planning autonomous vehicle testing and development centres to be built in Innovation City, the government hopes that it can attract international vehicle manufacturers such as the French PSA and Renault, German VW Group, BMW and Daimler, Japanese Toyota and Nissan and the North American manufacturers GM and Ford to build test and development centres for autonomous vehicles in Innovation City.

Moving away from autonomous vehicles, Innovation City aims to be home of innovation in every way, even the construction of the city will be different from traditional construction, with leading Italian construction companies planning to build using prefab modules and using ai to aid in construction in the city. The city will also be a hotbed for tech startups ranging from cutting edge app developers to tech manufacturers developing the latest hardware for the rapidly growing global digital economy.

Located adjacent to the Novara Ovest junction of the A4 Autostrada, one of Italy's most important and well connected major highways, Innovation City is just a 30 minute drive from Italy’s second busiest airport, Milan Malpensa, which receives flights from all over the globe daily. Even more beneficial is the fact that it is only a 50 minute drive east to reach the centre of Milan, Italy's tech and finance capital which is home to renowned institutions such as the Polytechnic University of Milan and the headquarters of the European Space Agency. Meanwhile driving just an hour west will land you in the centre of Turin, one of Italy's manufacturing capitals, home to the main manufacturing plants of Fiat-Chrylser Automobiles, Pininfarina Automotive Group, Avio Aerospace Engineering and Aether Aerospace. This puts Innovation City in a prime position to capitalise on the people, specialities and wealth of its surrounding area and to ensure that the Italian economy is on the cutting edge of tech and innovation well into the future.

Every Major City has seen massive corwds
Mass Protests Against Akbar

In every city across Persia, mass protests have occurred against Akbar's assumption of emergency powers. Thousands in Tehran, Mashhad, Tabriz, Isfahan, Baghdad, Aleppo, Tikrit, and Basra have gone into the streets, protesting against Akbar and calling for a return to elected civilian government. In some cases riots have broken out, with flares, stones, and molotov cocktails being thrown at riot police and military. However, most of the protests have remained peaceful. Riot police and military forces have contained the protests, with some violent repercussions (as stated above). The political affiliations of the protestors vary. Most of them are citizens angry with the government without a definitive political affiliation. Some are members of the Tudeh Party, advocating for a socialist revolution, describing Akbar as a "petty bourgeois social democrat trying desperately to save capitalism." But even more are Islamists, calling for the "end of the current order. It is poisoned to the root by Akbarism. We must rebuild on God's law." Many UIC MPs have joined them, calling for a return to civilian elected government-or an Islamist revolution. Saeed Jalili has joined protestors calling for Akbar's immediate resignation and trial for treason and a return to civilian elected government. Pro-government protestors also hit the streets, including union workers who have remained the backbone of the SDU coalition. Unions have always been one of the main beneficiaries of SDU policies. Akbar has promised to "restore order and peace to streets." He reminded Persians that his measures were "cautionary, temporary, and for the benefit of the people." He did have harsh words for some of the protestors however. "Agitators and thugs who call for an end to the Republic, calling for a Neo-Stalinist regime or a return of the rule of the mullahs, I will not let that happen. They will never succeed, their schemes will be crushed."

Persian instability causes Zackaroth the scramble
Sudden Persian instability over the past few days has caused Zackaroth to scramble both diplomatically and militarily. When the sudden coup was announced, Zackarothian diplomats struggled to figure out where the Persian Leader, Akbar was and where the current military in Western Syria stood in regards to this coup as well as the shared naval patrols in the Gulf of Oman. After a tense few hours, it was reported most of the Persian military did not support the coup and has realigned interests with Zackarothian goals.

Shelter in place drills also began and it was reported the High Leader was considering a first strike scenario should the coup leaders not step down to prevent a civil war. However, with Akbar successfully taking the country back, Zackaroth has seemingly backed down...somewhat. The High Leader congratulated Akbar on successfully retaking the country and hoped that he would soon rescind the emergency powers once the crisis had ended, noting that most nations have similar plans in case of attempted coups.

However, the continued protests have clearly left Zackaroth on edge. The border between Zackaroth and the Persian owned Iraq has been renforced with security and extra precautions are being taken by those coming through the borders. Zackaroth has also pulled back on its shared naval patrols with Persia in the Gulf, citing the instability as a cause. Zackarothian naval ships are now sticking to their side of the border and patrolling as normal. It has also been said the High Leader has asked Persia to remove a majority of its troops from the Lebanon and Western Syria border to allow the Zackarothian Syrian Guard to defend it. Its clear tensions are once again heating up in the Middle East and Zackaroth may once have to bring the hammer down.

Crack Police Units have begun making arrests
The Arrests Begin

Crack Police units at the direct orders of the Office of the Protector of the Republic have made dozens of arrests across the city today, alleging a grand "Anti-Democratic Conspiracy" of low level officers, Islamist agitators, and SDU cadres. Across Tehran and Isfahan, 51 arrests have been documented. The list includes suspected Islamist militants, SDU bureaucrats believed to be in cahoots with the Clique of Five, and NCOs believed to be conspiring with business tycoons. The arrested are accused of a variety of charges, including bribery, conspiracy to undermine the state, larceny, assault, and organizing an Islamist uprising. As well as the new charge of "Anti-Republican Activities". The arrested have trials scheduled in two weeks time as trial lawyers prepare to defend and prosecute. The evidence presented by State Prosecutors has been quite comprehensive in the eyes of most lawyers and experts, although many have said it is circumstantial evidence meant to reinforce a politically motivated purge. One anonymous SDU MP said it was "a Stalinist power grab." It seems that many in the Prime Minister's party are now firmly against him. Although with the support of the urban workers, and much of the Arab population, Akbar is steady. As well of the fact of the immense and indefinite powers granted to him by the Federative Council (which many view to be under his thumb).

Other Bulletins

-Journalists petition Akbar to relinquish powers, Akbar responds "in time my friends"
-The High Command is clear, "the army supports the Protector"
-Islamist riot results in 8 Polish immigrants injured
-Persian troops in Zackarothian Syria to withdraw to Persian Syria
-Army adopts defensive focus, "for now"
-SCUD Installations remain "primed and ready"

United Republics Claims the Marie Byrd Land
Date: May 23rd, 2025
NEW SACRAMENTO — On Wednesday, May 21st, the Department of the Exterior announced that the United Republics intends to officially claim the Marie Byrd Land of Antarctica. The Marie Byrd Land is a region of Antarctica that currently remains officially unclaimed by any sovereign state currently present in Antarctica. The Exterior stated that the motivations for this move is purely scientific, the Secretary of the Exterior remarked that "Antarctica presents a lucrative opportunity to expand Humanity's knowledge of Earth's past and our scientific understanding of the continents and of Earth's geology." He further added that "Antarctica is also a very harsh and formidable continent, and by all intents and purposes is like a land from another planet." Indeed, it seems that New Sacramento's primary motivation for claiming the Marie Byrd Land is for the ever-expanding North American space endeavors. Antarctica is like a continent from another planet, a perfect place to test North American artificial habitation technology. While the New Sacramento has indicated it is interested in studying the continent itself, it seems that the Marie Byrd Land will be primarily used to test experimental space colonization technology and artificial habitation technology. It is likely that if the technologies turns out to be successful in Antarctica, testing will then move from the icy continent to the FUNA moonbase and begin lunar testing. The central government has indicated that Antarctica's geology and resources will be respected and that the U.R has no intent to establish any mining or military operations/factilites, Pacifica's interests in the territory is purely scientific.

However, New Sacramento may face criticisms from the international community in regards to the maneuver, as the United Republics antarctic claims currently have not received international recognition. Exterior insiders have indicated that the U.R is hopeful that it's claim will be recognized or that other soveriegn will not attempt to dispute the U.R's claim by claim the Marie Byrd Land themselves. New Sacramento's purely scientific ambition is thought to limit any potential backlash, as the U.R has already denounced any attempt to establish mining or military facilities in the claimed territory. The United Republics is confident that FUNA will stand with it and recognize it's claim, but this may possibly spark debates internally nonetheless. The Second United States, which is considered the legal successor to the First United States, inherited the First USA's right to make claims in Antarctica. However, it is unknown if the Second United States will attempt to challenge Pacifica's claim or leave it be. While it can be argued that the legality of the U.R's claim is questionable, the scientific potential is immeasurable. Without Antarctica, the testing of space colonization technology will have to be done on the moon, increasing both danger and costs.

Akbar's supporters have raced to the streets
Akbar's Supporters Rally

As anti-Akbar supporters have rushed into the streets en mass to oppose his taking of emergency powers and the arrests he's ordered as Protector of the Republic, supporters of Akbar have done the same. In Tehran this morning, thousands of flag waving Akbarists flooded the streets as riot police had to separate opposing crowds. Bearing portraits of Akbar and waving the national flag, the orthodox Social Democrats, Akbarists, union workers, and liberals wary of Islamist terror, the supporters chanted slogans such as "Long live Davud Akbar" and "Long live Republic". They also called out "Down with the mullahs!", a rallying cry many Persians can agree with since the catastrophic collapse of the Islamic Republic. We had a chance to interview some of these loyal citizens, one such protestor said:

"People forget how much Davud Akbar has done for the nation. He built us up from nothing, from the bits and pieces of civil war and tyranny he built a nation. He brought roads, electricity, running water, plumbing, and he protected our Republic in its infancy. He built our new, indomitable Persia."

As the protestors clash in the streets, the Akbar government continues to reassert order. Trials have begun for those accused of abetting the coup, and numerous Islamist agitators have been arrested. While Islamist riots persist in some parts of the country, it appears things are mostly under control.

FOR THE PEOPLE, FOR DEMOCRACY, FOR LEBANON!

Factions inside the Lebanese Forces attempted a coup against Admiral General Aladeen Aladeen and his leadership that ultimately became successful. The coup against Aladeen left over 230 Lebanese dead, but their names shall live on because with their lives, they paid the price finally, for peace and prosperity for Lebanon.

Military factions started their coup against Adm. Gen. Aladeen Aladeen at 10pm when soldiers who were originally ordered by Admiral General Aladeen left their posts and positions to begin defending the protestors and even marching with the protestors in Beirut and other major cities. They secured the airport and government buildings, even Amal Aladeen's home, as well as media outlets against possible attacks from the Lebanese forces.

The people marched with the military and joined them in the streets from midnight to day, celebrating and resisting alongside each other against the threat of another dictator in Lebanon. The whereabouts of Admiral General Aladeen Aladeen and his team are unknown. Its rumored that if he is not hiding still in Lebanon, he may have fled the country.

Image
President Amal speaks in Beirut

In the morning, President-Elect Amal Aladeen of the Cedar Movement, spoke to the country through the televsion. She said: "I am so proud to be Lebanese right now. Our fight is not over. Yes, we won the struggle, but the real work starts now! The work to secure human rights and equal rights for all, the work to build homes, the work to make sure no child ever starves, the work to make sure our democracy prevails so that we will never ever have to deal with the worry that another dictator will hurt our people ever again! I am so proud of you. I am thankful for your vote. I am thankful for your dedication to our country. And I am thankful to the brave soldiers who finally said enough and realized that the military's job is not to oppress our people, it is to protect our people! Thank you Lebanon! Long live democracy! Long Live Lebanon!"

With Admiral General Aladeen gone, the leadership of the Lebanese Forces have been taken over by the transitional government. The transitional government announced that will stop existing once Amal Aladeen is sworn in as President and she forms her government. The next step now is for parliament to approve who Amal will make her ministers.

Image
Lebanese soldiers who resisted Adm. Gen. Aladeen's orders marching with the people in the morning

Experts have said that a purge of the military and the government is overdue even though Amal and democracy are finally here. Amal's spokesperson has said that "Yes, we need to make sure that our military is loyal to Lebanon and that they will not disrespect the rule of law and they will not violate rules but we have to do it in a way that still respects them otherwise, we're no better than the dictatorship that came before us."

The transitional government has also announced that it has accepted Portugal's offer to provide military assistance to make sure the country is in order and safe and stable. The transitional government said in a statement that "The assistance the Portuguese government has offered will help Lebanon's stable transition to democracy. We are thankful for their friendship and their trust in Lebanon. We need every help we can get."

The transitional government and even Amal has expressed worries after the transitional government learned that Persia has military assets directed at Lebanon. The transitional government is urging Persia to stand down. "The last thing we need in the middle east is division. We should stand together, not tear each other down." That said however, the transitional government has announced that all 5 regional commands are alert and are on standby if Lebanon is to be attacked.

Portugal to deploy troops to Lebanon for peacekeeping operations, announces Defense Secretary Michelle Fortes
Image

Following positive political progress in Lebanon, Defense Secretary Michelle Fortes appeared before Parliament today to inform the Select Commitee on Defense of President Oluwakemi 'Kemi' Taliscas's order to deploy a 'peacekeeping mission' to Lebanon.

Portugal had previously suspended its $2 billion arms deal with Lebanon following the Lebanese Forces' refusal to accept the election results and concerns that Portuguese arms may be deployed by the military to harass and intimidate civilians.

The Defense Secretary informed the select committee that President Taliscas has signed off on deploying 2,800 Portuguese forces to Lebanon in the aftermath of its military's refusal to accept the election results and threatening behavior from its neighbors. The deployment includes fighter squadrons, early detection aircraft, and air defense systems.

The new forces will include 200 Portuguese service members that are part of the Patriot air defense battery and radars that will be sent to Lebanon following its transitional government's concerns that it is under grave threat from Persia and Zackaroth.
“We continue to be concerned, based on what we hear from partners in the region, about the Lebanese Forces' behavior
Fortes said to the select committee.
Intelligence has informed us that there is a possibility that Portuguese arms sold to Lebanon during the Palviero administration may be used against helpless, innocent civilians. I would also like to note based on what the non-partisan, independent, transitional government have expressed to us, that we thought it was important to deploy forces to deter and defend and to send the message to Persia and Zackaroth do not strike another sovereign state.
she added.
It is in the best interest of Portugal, of Europe and especially of Lebanon that a sovereign and democratic state is ensured.
noted Fortes.

The Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff appeared alongside the Defense Secretary and added that the peacekeeping deployment to Lebanon is
for the purpose of defense of the Lebanese people.

Portugal is sending two fighter squadrons, a provisional air expeditionary wing, two Patriot Batteries, Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft, and a High Altitude Area Defense system (THAAD) to Lebanon. The air expeditionary wing will be comprised of tankers, fighters, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft a Portuguese official tells Publico. M2A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicles and JLTVS units, along with hundreds of 40mm automatic grenade launchers and 155mm laser-guided artillery shells, will support the peacekeeping mission as well.

Portugal will also provide 20 M198 howitzers; 25 armored Humvees; an armed Cessna aircraft with Hellfire missiles; 23 mortar systems; 25 Mark-19 automatic grenade launchers; 1,100 machine guns, including 800 50-caliber machine guns; 4,000 M4 rifles; over half a million rounds of ammunition; 320 night vision devices and thermal sights; and 360 secure communication radios.

Crack Police Units have acted at the direction of the Protector Davud Akbar
Police Act with Great Decisiveness: Schemers and Traitors Wiped Out

Police in Tehran, Mashhad, Deiz-ez-Zour, Isfahan, Baghdad, Mosul, and so many great cities of Persia have acted with great decisiveness this past week. Under orders from the office Protector of the Republic, police and military commanders issued orders to their men. These orders include the arrests of numerous violent agitators, and many accused of working with treasonous elements of the SDU Presidium, including the Clique of Five. The orders also include the suppression of Islamist rioting, and even armed insurrection in the mountains of Khorasan. The suppression has included military maneuvers pulled off perfectly, the army has prepared years for anti insurrectionist action. The Army and Air Force wiped out numerous hideouts of Islamist gangsters, and seized weapons stockpiles belonging to suspect groups. The police also acted to break up meetings of Neo-Stalinist, Islamist, and other anti-Democratic ideologies. These meetings included plans to remove the government, and destroy the Republican order. With the constitutionally granted powers to him, our glorious and strategically brilliant Protector Akbar acted with tremendous speed and efficiency. It seems that no matter where they hide, the extremists are rooted out. Many ask how the Prime Minister and those loyal to democracy obtain this information? It seems that despite attempts to remove the government, the Republican order has prevailed!

The Tyrant who Akbar urges us to denounce
Akbar Urges Anti-Khomeini Thought

Protector of the Republic Davud Akbar issued a statement through his office as Leader of the SDU, not as Prime Minister or Grand Protector urging Social Democrats and all Persians to denounce with great vigor the tyrant murderer Ruhollah Khomeini. He described as a the "duty of all Persians to defend democracy and to speak against and denounce the anti-Democratic figures and the tyrants of present and past." He called upon Persians of all colors, and especially faithful Muslims to denounce the man who "appropriated our faith, and manipulated our love for God to use us all for nefarious and violent ends." He described Khomeini as a "brutal tyrant who locked up and tortured thousands upon thousands without trial. A man who had women raped, tortured, and murdered. A man who ruled Iran through fear and violence." Akbar also spoke to great length on history and personal experience. "It become clear, that after the death of this madman and this vile manipulator, that the Islamic Republic was based solely on ruling through fear. The fear of many who believed their sisters and mother would end up as my mother did. Murdered by his hired thugs and gangsters. After his death, the entire crooked system of Mullahs and Revolutionary Guards thugs came crashing down." He called upon Persians to denounce Khomeini and to put an end to the reverence of Khomeini and define him as a dictator, plain and simple. School textbooks had already since the PGU defined Khomeini as a dictator and bad for Iran, but even still reverence for this man persisted among many. The Zahirnejad and Hussein regimes spent years persecuting Islamists peaceful and otherwise, or anyone who defied their brutal rule, and greatly diminished the Khomeini cult, but this relic of the old Islamic regime still exists. Akbar aims not to violently suppress anything, but to "put an end the cult of a madman and a murderer which has invaded to many hearts and minds. The man who said that sexual lusts could be satisfied on a child, the man who devastated our nation in the brutal Iran-Iraq War and the repeated purges and crimes against the Iranian people." UIC Leader Saeed Jalili responded by posting a photo of him with Khomeini on his social media, and denounced "leftist attempts to rewrite our history." More violent Islamists have responded by continued rioting, but the police have that well under control. Akbar repeatedly urged Persians to find new inspirations in their own lives, and persist in love to God, rather than worship of a tyrant.

The Cult of Khomeini must end. We are nation of democracy and people, not of reverence to a tyrant.

Zackaroth increases border security in face of Portuguese threat

As Persian forces pulled back and demobilized along the Western Syria-Lebanon border, Zackaroth forces where seemingly about to do the same thing when word came in that Portgual was sending forces to "deter" aggression from Zackaroth and Persia. Instead, Zackaroth has decided to keep the alert ongoing and calling up 20,000 Western Syrian Guards to help aid in border defense. Not only that but it has also been reported that air patrols have been increased, with Hyperion 2's constantly buzzing into Lebanese air space over the border. This aggressive move seems to in response to the perceived insult both countries have thrown towards Zackaroth, after it demanded the military junta of Lebanon step down. The government did eventually step down but now Zackaroth believes it is being seen as a threat...despite the fact it was fighting for the same cause as the new president of Lebanon. The High Leader had some harsh words to say today about the matter.

"Zackaroth is glad that Lebanon has transitioned into a peaceful government yet somehow after the support we have given them, seems to think we are the threat. Not only that but Portugal seems to perceive us a a threat as well, even though Zackaroth has said it would only act against Lebanon if its military did not let go of power. Though we are great friends with Europe it seems Portugal is the odd man out, in that it seeks to directly antagonize Zackaroth. I say this to Portugal and Lebanon, Zackaroth will not be antagonized. The last country who did that, lost thousands of its own people. So reconsider the hostilities you are showing on your border before you make a grave mistake. Do not think you are safe because you are half a continent away"

teleSUR International
Our north is the South

LIVE FROM ORANJESTAD: Coverage of the Galician War of Independence

We're now going to cut to Adriel Velasquez who is reporting for TeleSUR at Oranjestad, the former base of operations for Germanic colonial forces in the Caribbean. Hello, Adriel. Today we've heard from the Bolivarian Ministry of Defense that all military exercises have been conducted in the Caribbean and that humanitarian workers from the Bolivarian Republic and FUNA are discovering the harsh reality on the ground. What seems to have happened?

Thank you, Jose. Well, yes, the military actions have concluded and the Leeward Islands under direct control from Berlin have been liberated, in part by the National Bolivarian Armed Forces of Puertollano and the Federation of the United Nations of America. What we're discovering, however, is that things aren't always what they seem. It seems clear that the Germanic armed forces based in Oranjestad used civilian buildings to hide themselves and used the same hospitals as the civilians used to. This is in clear violation of international law and another case of Germanic war crimes in the world.

Do you believe the German military will ever be penalized for this?

Unfortunately for the citizens of the Leeward Islands, no justice will ever come of this. The Germanic Union have committed countless war crimes in the past, such as chemical weapons, attacking civilian positions and so on, this will just be enough war crime added to the continually growing list. As our viewers would know, no effort to criminalize German leaders of this will pass in the Council of Sovereign Nations. The European-mega majority would, of course, easily shoot any proposal like that down. The Federation of Nativist Islands and the Bolivarian Republic of Puertollano, however, will be offering compensation for those inflicted by German war crimes in this war of independence.

Speaking of the FNI, I've heard that there will be a planned referendum to occur on the Leeward Islands to determine their future?

Yes. The FNI, Bolivarian Republic and FUNA have agreed to restore democracy to the Leeward Islands and plans for a new referendum are underway. The referendum includes a question as to whether they would like to be incorporated into the Federation of Nativist Islands, who have a similar history and strong cultural connections. Representatives from the Federation have already visited the islands as part of humanitarian efforts and to network with the citizens about a possible amalgamation. Public sentiment does seem to be on the side of the FNI, who have worked tirelessly to promote better living standards in the Caribbean and de-colonisation. The President is to visit the islands soon to meet with local community leaders to promote a union.

Is there anything else you would like to say, Adriel?

Yes. That is that I have seen that the people of the Leeward Islands are strong and have bounced back well from this war. As we know, we would all prefer if this had not happened and that blood did not have to be spoiled in both Europe and the Caribbean. It has had a large human cost and we would all be fine if Germany had not declared war on Galicia and the Bolivarian Republic of Puertollano. People need to remember to put peace first, rather than last, and that diplomacy and democracy should be our final goal. That's why people are appreciative that there has been a commitment to democracy, whether that be the previous Galician Independence Referendum or the referendum here. We can only hope there is a quick end to this costly and imperialistic war.

In Defense of the Commonwealth

In the last few weeks conflict has been brewing across the planet with civil unrest in Africa, conflict off Galacia and South America, a rise of a possible new dictator in the Middle East, and a standoff in South East Asia. With all of these crisis and the fact that they seem to be multiplying, the Commonwealth Government, particularly the Assembly, has become outspoken about a military expansion in addition to what has already been implemented by Project Green during the past month. A recent poll finds that 48% of the public approves of this matter while only 18% disapprove with the remainder having no opinion on the matter, mirroring the concerns in the Assembly. However, Rais Nuru and the Nyumba Biashara (House of Commerce) have stated that the government does not have the needed funding to conduct nor sustain additional military expansion. The government was left with the choice to either continue military expansion slowly over the coming years and buy from the international community or transition to a new strategy. After weeks of deliberation the government has announced a new plan to try to build a military and provide a boost to the economy. This plan is the creation and subsidization of defense contractors within the Commonwealth itself, recognized as the African Armaments Program (AAP).

Image

Unlike almost every other major power in the world, the EAC is lacking in any notable defense contractors. Currently, there are only two contractors within the EAC being Commonwealth Shipbuilding and Zambia United (ZU). Both of these contractors operate on a small scale with local facilities for testing and construction. Both of these contractors also have received funding for projects such as the UCP and the Amity Frigate but on a small scale. The Commonwealth lacks large scale production lines for vehicles, small arms, planes, ships, and even munitions for its own forces. This is shown by 90% of all military hardware in current circulation all being imports from Canada which makes the Commonwealth reliant on Canada for all ammunition, replacement units, and even space parts for its forces in the event that stockpiles run dry. This puts the EAC at a severe logistical, economic, and strategic disadvantage, something that all other African nations share. The AAP introduces the framework to create the industries needed to construct and maintain this equipment within the EAC as well as provide the opportunity to develop technologies and machines on its own in the future. The EAC would not conduct this project alone and would look to international powers for joint developments of some of these weapons such as Canada or Japan to build further cooperation and learn from some of the best arms manufacturing industries in the world.

Image

In order to accomplish this, the EAC has set aside half of the 2026 Manufacturing Subsidies (5 Billion) to jump start these new industries. In addition to the continuing and additional funding of Commonwealth Shipbuilding and Zambia United, the EAC will be subsidizing three more start-ups being Victoria Arms, Africa Aerospace, and Mzizima Industries. Each one of these industries will received the 2026 subsidies, however, in order to receive any further government aid or be eligible for bids in government contracts the contractors must meet a series requirements. First, 55% of all materials used in products are African made to help boost local industries, second 75% of all employees be citizens of the EAC, and third and final each contractor must be able to display at least three different proof of concept projects by the end of 2026 with at least one prototype present. Each one of these contractors will be competing for the planned 2028 Military Contracts which the military will be using to expand or enhance its forces. These contractors have two and a half years to produce some sort of military hardware being anything from munitions to fighter jets. They are allowed to partner with international companies or outside nations for these projects but must have the equipment tested and built within the EAC. While many feel the AAP may be a dangerous gamble with a large portion of the government budget, it seems that it is a gamble the government is willing to take. Time will tell if this ambitious idea will pay off.

Small car manufacturer Casalini plans global expansion with manufacturing plant in the EAC

Today the Italian small car and truck manufacturer Casalini, based in Piacenza, announced that it is to begin its global expansion in Subsaharan Africa, where it will be constructing a manufacturing plant on the outskirts of Lusaka in the EAC. In order to capture the developing African market Casalini will be stripping down its M20 car and Kerry+ truck (it's only current production models) to make them far cheaper than their Italian equivalents whilst providing the same reliability but at a much more affordable cost to Africans.

Casalini hopes that its small cheap car and truck will be an engine for economic growth within Africa, providing individuals with cheap, safe and reliable personal transportation that will allow small businesses to thrive and allow individuals to work further from where they live, creating opportunities for Africans. Despite being a for-profit venture by Casalini, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Farnesina) has endorsed the move by the company, saying that "providing low cost personal transportation to Africans and African businesses will be a cornerstone of Africa's economic development and subsequent rise in living standards on the continent. We are excited to see how this opportunity plays out and hope that it boosts economic growth in Africa."

Casalini's manufacturing plant in the EAC will cost ₣1.2 billion, the money for which has been provided to Casalini via the Italian governments Global Business Expansion Grant (GBEG). Casalini's ₣1.2 billion grant is currently the largest ever handed out under the GBEG scheme and it is hoped that by removing the significant barrier to entry of having to pay to build a manufacturing facility Casalini will be able to succeed in the African market without going into major debt.

Within Casalini's manufacturing plants 70% of workers will be local's from the EAC who will work as labourers at the plant, whilst the remaining 30% will consist of mostly Italian staff who will fill managerial, supervisory and chief engineering roles. As well as 70% of workers being from the EAC Casalini has also promised the East African government that 60% of materials used in the construction of vehicles will be sourced within the EAC, this will help Casalini not just provide jobs to East Africans within the company's factory, but also provide jobs indirectly in the mining and textiles sectors of the EAC's economy.

A New Line of Tunnels for the Transport of Men and Material
Fortress Persia: Military Puts the Focus on Defense

The Military of the Persian Republic has spent many years preparing the army for a lightning offensive war. Military exercises have focused on vast sweeping maneuvers, as well as swift attacks to key strategic positions. Artillery and air units have focused on wiping out the strategic military and industrial assets of an enemy nation within 24 hours. These maneuvers and attack strategies were tested in Syria, where they were tremendously successful in breaking the Neo-Fascist Syrian dictatorship upon the Persian spear. In Turkey these attacks would have led to a great and decisive victory that would have finally destroyed the Neo-Ottoman scourge once and for all, but alas the betrayal by those we called our friends denied the Persian people justice. But for whatever the next war is, the Persian military will act with a great and uncompromising will.

But the military has made defense a focus. The Office of the Protector has allocated millions upon millions in military spending, as well as reallocating money from the rainy day fund and new oil profits from Syria's vast fields to the construction of new subterranean passages for the transport of men and material, new fortifications in the mountains of Northern Iran, as well as new military infrastructure stretching across the Anbar and Syrian desert. The Afghan and Pakistani borders have also seen the construction of vast new modern fortifications. There has been an emphasis on traditional bunker systems, but more so has been placed on tunnels for the transport of men and material. If the enemy rains death from the skies (provided they have gotten past our comprehensive air defense), we shall maintain our war effort from below the Earth!

Impresa Pizzarotti to build new Naples Umberto Nobile International Airport for Ā4 billion

Renowned Italian construction and civil engineering firm Impresa Pizzarotti & C (IPC) has been contracted by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to construct a new international airport for Naples and the wider Campania region for Ā4 billion. The new airport has been named Naples Umberto Nobile International after the famous Italian aviator and polar explorer who was born near Naples and attended Naples University.

Naples Umberto Nobile International will consist of two terminals, Terminal 1 will focus on short haul flights within Europe whilst Terminal 2 will focus on long haul international flights. Naples' only current airport, Naples International, will remain open and operate as usual however has been deemed too small to accommodate the increased flight demand in the region and is unable to expand due to its location so close to central Naples. Naples Umberto Nobile will be built on land further out from central Naples where there is sufficient space for a two-runway international airport and land is available for future expansion should it be necessary.

The airport is being built with transport connections in mind, being accessible from the A1 Autostrada and the SS7bis Superstrada, both of which connect to the A30 Autostrada nearby. Within the airport a transport hub will be constructed which will connect the airport to the Naples-Rome high speed rail line, local rail lines, bus services and national coaches.

The aim of Naples Umberto Nobile International is to serve at least 40 million passengers annually, making it the 3rd busiest airport in Italy after Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa respectively. Naples' accession into the Ministry of Economic Development's Global Cities Initiative is what has allowed the funding to be allocated by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport for this project and it is hoped that the economic growth brought in by the new airport will help Campania's economy specialise into more high tech industries and services.

Davud Akbar walks to a meeting of the Cabinet (temporarily known as the "Council of the Protectorate")
Elections Delayed

Yesterday was the constitutionally mandated day for Federal elections to be scheduled, however Protector Davud Akbar announced that an indefinite delay of elections would take place until "the last element of traitors and anti-democratic schemers have been rooted out." Akbar claimed that no election could be conducted in a safe or secure manner as long as "the nation is rocked by rioting and the elections is under threat of being undermined." There has been uproar from all corners of politics, as Social Democrats, Islamists, People's Party liberals and New Democracy centrists have all denounced the move as authoritarian in nature. The protestors in cities across the country returned to the streets with greater force, although the high military presence in cities across the country deterred rioting, the only riots still persisting are those of radical Islamist nature, those more angry about the desecration of the Tyrant Khomeini rather then matters of Republican institution. Akbar however, did indicate that elections are in the future. "We are preparing for an election, and we are preparing for these elections to be the most secure in the history of the Republic. Voting equipment is being shipped across the country." Akbar reminded the public that the Federative Republic of Greater Persia is the first democratic nation in the history of Persia. "We were a nation of Shahs, then of mullahs, then of military dictators, we now have achieved democracy. And by God we will safeguard it and never give it up."

Other Bulletins
-New Republican Guard divisions distributed to military districts, Akbar acclaimed as "Marshal of the Guard" by commanders
-Kurdish and Iranian demonstrators burn Turkish flag on the border
-Parliament holds non binding vote demanding the dissolution of the protectorate and for elections to be held at once
-Saeed Jalili speaks to massive crowds in Isfahan, Basra, and Tabriz demanding the resignation of the government
-Army announces that the rioting situation "has been brought to an end"
-Leaked Map from the High Command shows a political map of Turkey with Thrace a part of Bulgaria

During her Australia trip, Taliscas announces she's raised Portugal's terror threat to 'severe' in response to terror attacks
Image

CANBERRA — President Oluwakemi Talicas has condemned the "callous terrorist attack" in Lisboa following her meeting with the Australian Prime Minister where she launched PATrade (Portuguese-Australian Trade and Investment Commission), an agreement to foster and grow commercial interests between both countries, under the condition that commission will see to it that Australian-Portuguese trade and commercial businesses are given highest priority when it comes to country-to-country contracts.

Other agreements Taliscas signed with her Australian counterpart include:
  • Visa-Waiver Program, up to 4 months
  • Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a framework for regular bilateral consultations at ministerial or deputy ministerial level. Areas of co-operation under the framework included science and technology, police, defence, tourism, arts and culture, and agriculture, among others.
After the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the Australian Government also announced that it will be handing out 1,000 free scholarships to Portuguese students to study in Australian state universities. The Australian Government will allow Portugal's Education Ministry to select the scholars under the condition that they will maintain high grades and participate in socio-cultural and leadership activities. The Portuguese Government announced a similar scholarship program in return.

Taliscas also thanked the Australian government for contributing to Portugal's peacekeeping operations in Lebanon. From Pakistan, Australia's amphibious carrier, the ANS Canberra, will be sent to Lebanon to help in insertion and extraction of Portuguese forces.

Her joint-press conference with the Australian premier was followed by a defiant speech, where the President addressed the Lisboa attacks and said that those responsible for the attack would be brought to justice.

At least 22 people have been killed, including Foreign Minister Wilma Sampaio, and 59 people injured following what is believed to have been a concentrated terrorist attack against Belem Palace and the Foreign Secretary's private residence and convoy.

Taliscas said "partisan extremists" had used "home-made projectile firebombs" to damage Belem Palace.
It is now beyond doubt that the people of Lisboa and of this country have fallen victim to a callous terrorist attack,
the President said.
We now know that multiple car bombs were planted and snipers were positioned along the sides of the roads and sprung out to lay fire on the Foreign Secretary and her detail, deliberately choosing the time and place to cause maximum carnage and to kill and injure indiscriminately. This deplorable attack coincided with a drive-by-shooting attack on the private residence of the Foreign Secretary Wilma Sampaio.

This attack stands out for its appalling sickening cowardice,
she said, adding that
the attack killed Wilma Sampaio's 3 year old granddaughter who was in her residence at the time.

We struggle to comprehend the warped and twisted mind that sees the City of Seven Hills [Lisboa's nickname], a city of innocent and well-meaning people, not as a scene to cherish, but as an opportunity for carnage.
said Taliscas.

The President added that the
The Interior Ministry and security services believe that the attack carried out was concentrated and planned, but they now need to know whether foreign powers were involved. It will take some time to establish these facts, and the investigation will continue. The police and security services will be given all the resources they need to complete that task.

She added:
The police and security services believe they know that Chico Manquinho is connected to the attacks, but at this stage of their investigations we cannot confirm the extent of her involvement. Manquinho however, is a prime suspect at this stage.

The President said that the terror threat level to Portugal will remain "severe", but that officials would now consider whether it should be raised to "critical" — the highest level possible.

Taliscas concluded her speech saying
This particular attack, this appalling attack, with its intention was to sow fear, its intention is to divide, will not succeed. I am asking to remain vigilant. I am asking you to be brave. But above all, I am asking you to be patriotic. To be proudly Portuguese. Let us not allow hatred and extremism to change our proud way of life. God Bless Portugal.

President Taliscas said that she will continue with her foreign trip, adding that she will not allow extremism the attention it wants.

Foreign Secretary, 3-year old granddaughter and more dead, plus Belem Palace damaged, in the aftermath of Lisboa attacks
Image

LISBOA -- Following a visit to the site of the terror attacks, the Prime Minister has delivered a decisive speech detailing action on national security.

Hildred Cardoso delivered remarks twenty-four hours following the Lisboa terror attacks, an attack that's damaged Belem Palace and has left 22 dead, including Foreign Secretary Wilma Sampaio and her family, and 55 more that are severely or critically injured. No cabinet ministers were present at Belem the day of the attack but lives of cabinet liaison and staff were unfortunately claimed.

Prime Minister Hildred Cardoso said in her speech that the terror threat level in Portugal has been classified as "severe" after review by the independent Joint Terrorism Analysis Center.

The increased threat level means "that a further attack remains highly likely" Cardoso said. She added "the work undertaken today has revealed that it is a possibility we cannot ignore that there is a wider group of individuals linked to this attack."

The move came the day after multiple car bombs detonated at Foreign Secretary Wilma Sampaio's motorcade that was en route to leave the Foreign Office building. Her security detail attempted to move the Foreign Secretary indoors but Cardoso's speech revealed that snipers positioned along the sides of the roads laid fire on Sampaio and her detail.

A drive-by-shooting attack simultaneously took place at Sampaio's private residence, killing her daughter's family, including Sampaio's three-year old granddaughter.

Cardoso said the change in the threat level means armed military personnel will be deployed to guard "key locations" in Portugal, as well as certain events like "sports matches" and "concerts." She said those personnel will take the place of armed police officers, who will be deployed elsewhere.

Armed military personnel will be under the command of local police forces, who will decide how to deploy them. Additional resources will be made available to police as they work to keep Portugal safe, Cardoso said.

The frenetic day following the attack saw the Prime Minister chair two meetings at the Cabinet Office Briefing Room, a classified crisis emergency response center, meet police chiefs and visit injured citizens in a hospital in Lisboa.

In her speech, Cardoso also disclosed that the Centro Nacional de Cibersegurança (CNCS) had suppressed a concerted attack against Portugal's telecommunication companies. Cardoso detailed that the CNCS obtained a footage linked with the attempted cyber attack that has identified Chico Manquinho.

Chico Manquinho was the former party leader of the Movimento Popular, suspected by the then-Palveiro administration of being connected to the 2023 Lisboa and Norte attacks. The Prime Minister added that while the cyber attack was unsuccessful, it showed a worrying limitation of Portugal's cyber defense. The Executive Director of Cyber Command (CNCS) has announced that “We’re working with our partners in defending Portuguese critical infrastructure from malicious cyber activity.”

The Prime Minister's speech also set out her plans for a "Commission for Countering Extremism" in the wake of the Lisboa terror attack.
Portugal is one of the world’s most successful multiracial, multi-religious and multicultural societies. But our enjoyment of Portugal’s diversity must not prevent us from confronting the menace of extremism, even if that is sometimes embarrassing or difficult to do,
Cardoso said.
Extremism, especially incoherent political extremism, strips some people of the freedoms they should enjoy, undermines the cohesion of our society, and can fuel violence. And it can be especially bad for the most vulnerable in our society.

The commission would be established as a statutory body, legally compelled to identify extremism in communities where it threatens to undermine Portuguese values. Its role would be to encourage people and employers to recognize and challenge extremism, and seek to stamp it out in the same way there has been a marked shift in public attitudes to racism in recent years. The commission would also advise the Government on what new laws might be required to assert Portuguese, pluralistic values over extremist ones.

The Prime Minister added:
There is clearly a role for government in tackling extremism where it involves behavior that is or ought to be criminal. But there is also a role for government to help people and build up organizations in society to promote and defend Portugal’s pluralistic values, and stand up to the extremists who want to undermine our values and impose their twisted beliefs onto the rest of us. That is what this plan is all about.

Cardoso finished her remarks saying she did not "want the public to feel unduly alarmed," but encouraged everyone to "stay vigilant."

Deputy Sec. Santana Rial named new Foreign Secretary in the wake of Sampaio's death

In her first act as the Secretary of State for Foreign and Lusophone Affairs, Santana Rial announced that Portugal would accept the terms of France's CSN proposal in Lebanon. In her statement, Rial clarified the intent of Portugal's peacekeeping operations in Lebanon:
I'd first like to establish that the presence of Portugal's peacekeeping operations is an assistance accepted by the transitional authority and the incoming government of Amal Aladeen. The sole purpose of the peacekeeping operations are to help the new Lebanese government in facilitating a peaceful democratic process and civility.

In no way are the presence of the peacekeeping operations meant to antagonize or demean Zackaroth or Persia. Portugal will abide by the terms of the CSN proposal so long as the respective states do as well. I'd also like to take this opportunity to express contrite to the governments and people of Zackaroth and Persia for this diplomatic miscommunication.

The military demonstration to celebrate the return of order and democracy
The Return of Democracy: Akbar Returns Power to Parliament

Prime Minister Davud Akbar officially relinquished his powers as Grand Protector, as political pressure mounted. It was said that even members of the Federative Council and the Cabinet, both bodies are largely believed to be full of Akbar's supporters, were asking the Prime Minister to give up the title of Grand Protector and the additional powers that came with it. The actions undertook during his tenure would continue to be carried out, but power would return to the people's elected representatives. Sources say there was a long two hour meeting in the Prime Minister's Office at 12 Patriot's Way between the Prime Minister and his closest advisors, men he has known since his days as a street fighter against the Persian Gulf Union and Islamist thugs. Apparently they demanded he hand over his powers, or that there could be no going back, or that desperate men would act to remove Akbar by any means. Akbar, according to sources, resisted this, saying that the threats to the Republic were not yet truly eliminated. The meeting went on, but by the end, a decision had been reached. Yesterday morning the Federative Council unanimously revoked Directive No. 1, and Akbar released a statement from his office as PM that the Protectorate had been dissolved and the "conspiracies against the Republic had been rooted out". Akbar declared that all power would be restored to "pre coup constitutional order.". As of now, the Republic is as it was before the coup of treasonous SDU elements occurred. Akbar then put together a quickly organized military display in Tehran to celebrate the return of democracy and the destruction of the coup and associated anti-democratic forces. The decision has been greeted with approval from all sections of the population. Many feel it took too long, but are grateful that Akbar gave up his emergency powers. Protests, which had been going on non-stop for months largely ceased. Islamist riots continued in some areas, but these were hardly connected to the Prime Minister's actions. UIC Leader Saeed Jalili declared that he was grateful that "rule of law has been restored" but maintained that the Prime Minister's actions were corrupt and that he should be removed from power, although only radical sections of the UIC still call for Akbar's trial for treason. Election preparations have begun, and at last order is restored.

First stage of Strait of Otranto Tunnel megaproject complete as Corfu tunnel and new highway open to public

Today the Strait of Otranto Tunnel megaproject commissioned by the Roman Senate reached an important milestone, officially opening part of the project to public use. The 18km undersea tunnel between the island of Corfu and mainland Fregantese Empire as well as its associated highway and high speed rail line, measuring at almost 60km each that cross the island, have opened full access to the public in both directions with tolls not planned to be put into place until the entire project is complete, which is likely to around 2030. The first cars entered the tunnel at 6am this morning whilst the first train service between the capital of Corfu and the city of Ioannina on the Fregantese mainland took place an hour later at 7am.

So far the Strait of Otranto Tunnel project has had greatly positive impacts in the regions that its being built in, most notably Corfu and Puglia, the latter of which has seen some of the highest GDP growth in Italy, far outpacing its surrounding regions as major logistics companies from across Europe and the URT look to open huge distribution plants alongside the new highway being built across the region that will connect into the Otranto Tunnel. The town of Otranto itself, the heart of the Otranto Tunnel project, has seen huge growth, with hectares of land around the town being purchased by major Italian property developers looking to expand the town with new homes and shopping centres to accommodate the huge increase in job demand from logistics companies and the Otrantotunnel Corporation in the region which is expected to bring people into the region from across Europe.

Progress on the main tunnel, which measures 113km and connects Corfu to Otranto, is steady with only a few delays due to technical difficulties as is expected in any major construction project. Roman Senator Makis Voridis hailed the Strait of Otranto Tunnel megaproject to be the 'Manifestation of the innovation and progress that has been made possible by the formation of the United Roman Triumvirate and a sign of the bright future ahead for the entire Triumvirate.'
