PM Conte criticised for 'getting smashed' in Athens, concerns over alcoholism

Controversy and concern today as it was revealed that last week during a visit to Athens for a VIP party Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte was 'severely intoxicated', staggering around the rooftop venue which hosted important VIP's from around the URT. Unconfirmed reports also suggest that the Prime Minister was so severely intoxicated that he ended up vomiting in the venues bathroom. Many within the

government and the opposition have publicly denounced the Prime Ministers actions, calling him 'unprofessional' and 'undiplomatic'.

In addition to this information, it has been revealed that the Prime Minister is known for becoming intoxicated on frequent occasions, with concerns that Giuseppe Conte could be suffering from alcoholism, which would severely hamper his ability to fulfil his duty as Prime Minister and as a servant of the Republic. Arianna Rossi, a specialist in alcoholism, has been studying the habits and cues of the Prime Minister since the discovery of Giuseppe Conte's 'night out getting smashed', and has concluded that, while not certain due to lack of extensive evidence and face-to-face discussions with the Prime Minister about his drinking habits, it could be suggested that the PM is possibly suffering from some form alcoholism, but currently only to an acute degree. Speaking to the press, Arianna Rossi has urged the Prime Minister to seek help for his issues if he is not already and says that with professional help the Prime Ministers apparent acute alcoholism can be treated.

The Prime Ministers office released an official statement following the revelations, stating "Information has surfaced regarding the actions of the Prime Minister during a private event last week. The Prime Minister wishes to assure the public that he is fully fit to act as Prime Minister of the Republic, and is not hampered in any way by his personal life. He also asks that in future the public and the press respect the Prime Ministers wishes for privacy in his personal life."

Castillo: "EAC is a purveyor of imperialism in Africa"

During his weekly television address on Channel 3, President Nicolo Castillo had remarks on the on-going war in the Congo.

Here is an unpopular opinion among Europeans, but I will state it anyway. The East African Commonwealth is a purveyor of imperialism in Africa, perhaps the second worst offender on the continent. While they prance around claiming to represent the people of Africa, all they are doing is working as guns for fire for Europe and North America. My case in point is in the Congo, where the EAC is gallivanting around, telling the people of the Congo they know best. Except, they do not. Instead of supporting the people's revolution, in the form of the Socialist Republic of the Congo, initiated by a class struggle against imperialism and capitalism, they support the 'Hyper Democrats', a counter-revolutionary band of thieves. These American thugs should not be trusted, demonstrably seen in their dereliction of Zimbabwe. These Hyper Democrats killed, looted, stole, vandalized and destroyed homes and lives of the Zimbabwean people; why does the EAC support them now in the Congo? The obvious answer appears to be that they do not care for the well-being of the people of the Congo or the opinion of the people of the Congo. They have almost unanimously supported the agenda of the legitimate socialist, egalitarian government based in Kinshasa. That is the true predecessor to governance. The EAC is not for Africans, it is for pursuing its own regime-change agenda in Africa. It is to be the lap-dog of the imperialist nations and nothing else. Change my mind, I doubt it.

Minutes before the release order was given by Canberra,
police and protestors peacefully standoff in the streets of Balabac City

BALABAC - As the 'BringThemBack' protests reached its 2nd week, more than 11,000 people had gathered in the streets leading toward the island's legislative building in protest to the arrest of the Aug 23 Incident protest leaders and island district representatives.Exactly a week since the start of the movement in Sept 24, the Australian government ordered that the Balabac Island Police release those arrested from the police's general headquarters.

A statement was simultaneously disclosed by the Balabac Island Police to the media.

On this date October 1, 2023, the office of the Prime Minister in association with leading figures in the Legislature House has, in the face of such solidarity, dedication, and commitment shown by the people of the island territory of Balabac to a cause worthy of justification, has ordered the Balabac Island Police to release all 33 individuals detained under charges of 'disrupting public peace'.

The police urged demonstrators to return back to their normal activities in order to further de-escalate the situation that had been mounting since August, of which many followed to do so.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison also posted in his social media account:

Decision has been made. All 33 charged for disrupting public peace in Balabac will be released and all charges dropped. The Australian government will see to it that reforms will be made for the security of the people of Balabac. Several protesters celebrated the decision by the government to release those detained. Governor Andre Bazemore also called it a 'milestone for the island's people'. However, there is still a significant number of people , including the BringThemBack protests head student organizer Shayne Ramos, are hoping that the reforms promised by the Prime Minister will soon be put into motion.

Australian military declares East Timor danger free, continued troop withdrawal
October 2 ,2023 | Jessica Nate Sanchez

After four years of military operations in 'Timor', our troops
are finally returning home

DILI - After over a year of seeing the Australian military taking major administration roles and combating the LMP insurgency, the Australian military has ordered the withdrawal of its military forces from East Timor, which the Australian Mission to East Timor (AusMET) declared as 'stable and danger free'. AusMET's Operation Enduring Freedom, which focused on providing basic social welfare to East Timorese and safeguarding a running civil government has been considered successful in achieving its objective of helping the East Timorese government to get back on its feet after several years of radical terrorism by the LMP.

Since early September of last month, 2,000 military have been returning back to Australia weekly, totaling almost 9,000 men as of this paper's publishing. With Canberra seeking to lessen the costs of maintaining forces abroad, the military is aiming to only station at least 4,000 military personnel in East Timor by the start of November, a 14,000 man decline. This action does not come as a surprise as the Morrison administration is seeking to transfer needed defence budget funds to larger operations, particularly in maintaining the huge contingent of Australian and auxiliary troops in Nigeria.

Analysts are also not critical of these huge manpower reduction in East Timor, many suggesting that the withdrawal of troops has already been past deadline. It now comes to the question of whether Australia will let go of East Timor in the near future or have different plans for the small nation that is currently an Australian Controlled Territory.

Exercises | Lusophone Republic

Postby Lusophone » Wed Jun 19, 2019 11:45 pm

Part two of the update on the exercises will be posted in the next article.

What's happening at AFRE 2023? | Público
Image
The week long AFRE 2023 large-scale Lusophine strategic maneuvers are occuring this week, contrary to concerns that the Armed Forces of the Republic's annual military exercise would be rescheduled due to the Lisboa and Norte attacks that occurred in the Norte region, where it's taking place this year. Four star General Colin Pombo even regards the exercises as 'necessary' saying "now more than ever, these exercises are necessary to show that Lusophone is resolute and will do everything necessary to eradicate terrorism."

Officially, the exercise involves 297,000 Lusophine service members, about 36,000 pieces of equipment, and more than 1,000 aircraft. The AFR is also being complemented by 40,000 German soldiers, which national security advisor Joao Bolsonaro has regarded as "a representation of Lusophone's commitment to the historic Luso-Germanic alliance." These numbers represent more than a third of all active-duty servicemen and 72 percent of all combat-capable aircraft of the Lusophone Republic. As such, it is an utterly impossible scale, especially considering the logistical limitations of the Norte Region, where the exercise will occur.

Unlike other strategic-operational drills, AFRE 2023 is billed as a set of “maneuvers,” a term largely dormant now and generally only used by the Strategic Rocket Forces or for naval exercises. Army groups based in the Norte region has been steadily increasing its readiness all year in anticipation of the exercise. These preparations included large drills in March—though involving only 4,000 service members—that Defense Minister Jairo Montalvo and the Joint Chiefs unusually briefed directly to President Sara Palveiro, bypassing the Prime Minister.

For the official AFRE 2023 maneuvers, the exercises have apparently not been augmented because of German participation but by the Lusophine units participating, consisting of nearly three field armies. The exercises include two opposing sides—a blue “western” force and a red “eastern” force—established for the primary exercise. It took two days to create the respective operational groups of forces, and maneuvers are being carried out for the following five.

Based on tactical details reconstructed from press releases, the (enemy) blue force evidently opened the operational phase of the exercise by seizing key terrain with the help of an air assault led by the Airborne Troops. The blue force then attempted to destroy the red force’s command posts, after which blue’s Ground Forces reinforced the line. During this, parallel exercises throughout the Norte region are simulating the red force repelling a major air offensive, including from blue’s B52 strategic bombers. At the same time, forces are also conducting simulated precision short-range ballistic strikes from positions concealed with smokescreens.

AFRE 2023, which usually dominates the news cycle at this time of the year for its awe some show of power, has not achieved that this year. The exercises are sharing the news cycle with President Sara Palveiro's signing of a series of executive decrees that have placed sanctions on Galicia for it's continued sheltering of Chico Manquinho, party leader of Movimento Popular, who has refused to return the country because of her accused connections to the Lisboa and Norte attacks. The sanctions come days after Foreign Secretary Constança Rial condemned Galicia's grant of political refuge to Movimento Popular leader Chico Manquinho, and demanded the communist leader's extradition, dubbing it 'non-negotiable.'

Prior the the executive decrees, the Frente Nacional backed by the Os Conservadores in Parliament, passed Public Law 113-278, outlining the blueprint for sanctioning Galicia, including the largest bank in Galicia. The bill unilaterally blocks and freezes assets, funds, goods and properties owned by the Galicia, as well as suspends entry to or revoked visas and documentation for Galician public, military and diplomatic officials.

President Sara Palveiro then converted Public Law 113-278 into Executive Decree 13692, which has designated Galicia as an "unusual and extraordinary threat to Lusophine sovereignty." The Executive Decree regards Galicia's granting of asylum to Manquinho as "obstruction of justice." Executive Decree 13692 also increased her power to implement coercive measures to use to intervene in Galicia's internal affairs. Banco Santander Totta has since then stopped issuing foreign currency accounts to Galician institutions in Lusophone. Additional sanctions on Galicia are also being imposed via ED 13808 which will prohibit direct or indirect purchases of securities from the Galician government, including bonds, loans, credit extensions, and others, officially legalizing the blockade.

Chico travels to Bolivarian Republic

The Bolivarian Republic and the Socialist Federal Republic of Galicia have formerly decided to transport Chico Manquinho from her place of residence currently in Galicia, to Puertollano. Puertollanoan Foreign Affairs Minister, Jorge Arreaza explained that Chico was taken out on a diplomatic, civilian jet of the Bolivarian Republic during the midst of the night. This is to the benefit of the government of Galicia, who has on-going diplmatic spats with the Lusophine Republic. In that regard, Galicia has instituted a tit for tat response in sanctions against Lusophone. Tariffs of up 70% have been relegated on all Lusophone products attempting to enter the Socialist Republic, border applications have been tightly restricted and many Lusophone businesses asked to leave the country within 24 hours. However, with Chico gone, Premier Santos sent out Foreign Minister Josep Borrell to speak with international media. Mr Borrell said that: "Galicia is open to discussions with Lusophone to re-improve relations. We no longer harbor Chico, she made a decision to leave the country. If you have quarells, you have quarells with the Bolivarian Republic of Puertollano, not Galicia". Premier Santos has ordered the immediate mobilization of many of the armed forces, and put the rest of the military on high alert. He warned that this "militaristic posturing by Western Europe against us is unnecessarily aggressive."

Franco-Australian Relations continue to prosper

Distinguished Australian diplomat and CSN representative Stephanie Beckett was today welcomed in Paris by Prime Minister Bernard Lamar for a bilateral visit. Relations between the French Confederation and Australia have warmed considerably since disputes surrounding South Pacific military deployments clouded the relationship for some time, with the war in Nigeria being a major factor in reinvigorating the partnership. Lamar fronted a press conference following the end of the meeting, and gave the following statement;

We are proud to call Australia a trusted and reliable ally, with whom we have much in common. I will first seek to recall our past achievements for context, before giving an outline of which topics were discussed today. The Joint Pacific Security Corridor our nations negotiated a few years previously proved instrumental in deescalating tensions in the South Pacific, and proved instrumental in laying the foundation for a solid relationship to be built upon. This came in the form of the Franco-Pacific Defense Agreement, which the French Confederation views as one of our most important alliance treaties outside of our European arrangements. The sacrifices made by our servicemen and women in Nigeria is a cost that both nations acknowledge is shared, as Australia and the French Seventh Republic refused to abandon the beleaguered country to the horrors of ICN occupation. Australia's military operates from facilities at Maupiti in French Polynesia and in the French Indochinese Federation, while the Confederation's armed forces also maintain personnel at bases in Darwin and Balabac. These are the main talking points of our relationship to date, but we now look to the future. As a symbol of the FPDA's enduring commitments, discussions have been held surrounding military exercises at Norfolk Island. Potential integration of the PSAN and TACT in Nigeria was also a major topic which we explored in detail, accompanied by Australian-DEU matters. The most tangible result of these talks has been the agreement by the Australian government to allow French civilian aircraft and ships working as part of our Antarctic research projects to stopover in Hobart as a staging area en route to the territory of Adélie Land, which coincidentally straddles the Australian Antarctic claim. I thank Ms. Beckett for taking the time to make this visit, and reassert that the French Seventh Republic and Confederation are immensely proud of the levels of cooperation which our nations continue to achieve.

took time from her schedule to visit a local children's hospital

PARIS - Australian delegate to the CSN, Ms. Stephanie Marie Beckett had to excuse herself from Reykjavik to go to Paris, France for international diplomatic talks between Australia and the French Confederation. The CSN delegate substituted for Prime Minister Morrison, who decided to stay in Australia in order to resolve domestic matters.

Ms. Stephanie landed at Charles de Gaulle International Airport aboard a Qantas 737-800 airliner at around 4:30 PM of October 9 and was greeted happily by French Prime Minister Bernard Lamar as she was walked from the airstrip along with her staff and aides towards waiting vehicles. The two diplomats were escorted by Australian and French guard vehicles as they approached the hotel where the meeting was held followed by a 'grand' dinner reception by local politicians and officials.

The next morning, Ms Beckett attended a private gathering of Paris' local Australian community. During a visit to Rehabilitation center later that noon, Stephanie Marie got acquainted with various techniques that were used in their work the specialists of the center, talked with children and their parents and gave gifts. She then presented a personal check as a donation to the center before leaving for the airport.

Ms. Beckett left Charles de Gaulle Airport around 1:30 PM en route to Reykjavik to resume her CSN roles, but not before posting in her social media.

The Austro-Danubian Empire

Image

The Sun Sets

The Emperor of all Austrian and Danubian peoples, Martin von Habsburg-Lorraine, stood atop the northern bell-tower of Hohensalzburg Castle, his hands feeling the rough stone of what were once formidable defenses; his eyes fixed over the same view of that once charmed the commissioner of the fortress, Archbishop Gebhard von Helfenstein. The setting sun stained the sky an evening orange, the sun in all its glory disappearing behind the snow capped alps. On the corners of the bell-tower the flag of his Empire flew adjacent to the flag of the Triumvirate, the sound of their flapping the only thing he could hear in this quiet and peaceful occasion. Ever since Martin had liberated Salzburg from the Germans, he had made it a point to visit the capital of the Province of Metropolitan Austria whenever he was not held up in the Imperial Capital of Vienna.

The Austro-Danubian Empire Empire has been asleep for some time now. The dream that seemed impossible to achieve just years before had become a reality o ver the course of Martin's rule. The people of Austria were united, the economy was booming under the Triumvirate, and the Empire's youth had a future to call their own and a home to be proud of. Martin had lived most of his life with no intention of picking up the reigns of the Empire. He had served in the military after graduating from university, and only took the throne after the unorthodox massacre of Late Empress Nicole's branch of the family. Now that he was standing on ground that years earlier was occupied by foreign troops, he wouldn't have asked for anything else regarding his contribution to his people. On top of everything, his chosen daughter and heir, Princess Nicole II, had a united Empire to rule in her future.

Footsteps resonating from several pairs of military boots approach him from behalf ind, interrupting the peace. The company was not expected as he had typically asked to not be disturbed during his periods of meditation. He turned to face three armed men: all of them men he knew personally. They bore patches of the Reichswehr, the most prestigious branch of the Imperial military. "State your business, bitte," he cautiously pressed.

The soldier in the middle of the three began to reply in an Austro-Romanian accent, "Herr Martin, I thank you for all you have done." His hands hovered over the trigger of his assault rifle. No way to hold a weapon so close to his Emperor. Martin then saw it: shining from a ray of evening sun: a necklace of the triple cross the Archangel Michael, the symbol of the Iron Guard. The soldier continued, “You have forfeited the rights of our people to a multinational agency, however, one that seeks to rid of and replace our culture.”

“Soldier. Stand down your arms. Don't forfeit for lives for an ideology that died after the Second World War. Have you forgotten your pledge?"

The Austro-Romanian, just a boy, pointed to one of the Triumvirate banners nearby. "It is you who serves something long dead. We pledged ourselves to the Emperor and the peoples of Austria, not to a lackey of Rome."

Martin didn’t respond. Instead he sighed and nodded his head to the three men. "Go on then. Do the duty you came do see through."

The Austro-Romanian boy froze for a few seconds, his hand still hovering over the trigger. He aimed his weapon at Martin shakily. “For Österreich,” he muttered.

The others stated the same phrase in unison, and the four were met with a few seconds of silence.

Clap!

Martin felt a sharp burn in his side. The force of the shot pressed Martin against the low stone wall behind him. He looked down to see his hand at his side, covered in his own blood.

Clap!

The second shot hit his chest. Blood spat from Martin's mouth. He fell to his knees. Martin thought of his daughter first, and then of the people he ruled for so long.

Clap!

And as the sun set over Austria the Emperor of all Austrian and Danubian peoples, Martin von Habsburg-Lorraine, took his last breath.

President Mattarella gives tearful speech after news of Emperor Martin von Habsburg-Lorraine's murder

News has struck the world in the dead of night that Emperor Martin von Habsburg-Lorraine of the Austro-Danubian Empire, a member of the United Roman Triumvirate and a great ally of the Italian people, has been murdered by soldiers he knew personally. The President of the Second Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, was awoken in the night to be informed of the news and urgently held a press

conference, making an emotional speech in memory of the Emperor and setting out the Italian governments response, shedding tears during the address.

"I have just spoken with the family of Emperor Martin and offered them my deepest sympathies for the tragic events that have occurred this evening. Emperor Martin von Habsburg-Lorraine was an exceptional, passionate ruler of the Austro-Danubian Empire, achieving his dream of uniting the people of Austria and creating a safe, secure land for the Austrian people. Emperor Martin and his family are close personal friends of mine and we have shared many experiences together, my thoughts are with his family at this time and I urge that the press give them the space and privacy they require over the coming weeks to mourn the death of Emperor Martin. It is in his memory that we must preserve the Austro-Danubian Empire by ensuring it remains a stable, successful nation. This can only be achieved by safeguarding the succession of Nicole II to the throne. While I understand that the last thing people wish to be considering at this dismal time is the succession of the throne, it is in the interests of the Austro-Danubian Empire to pursue a fast and smooth succession."

"Following my conversation with the family of Emperor Martin, I have also been in contact with Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and the Council of Ministers to discuss our governments response to this event and have concluded that it is necessary for a greater security presence to be deployed in Rome, mostly in areas that are home to institutions of the United Roman Triumvirate such as the Curia Julia and bureaucratic buildings of the Triumvirate. As well as this the personal security of Roman Senators, in particular Austro-Danubian Senators, is to be ramped up to ensure their safety at all times as the Iron Guard is known to Italian security services to be vehemently opposed to the idea of the United Roman Triumvirate. I also wish to invite the public of Rome to St. Peter's Basilica for a special Mass tomorrow morning in memory of Emperor Martin von Habsburg-Lorraine."

The Rising Sun - 日の出

Strategic Security

"Speak softly and carry a big stick, you will go far." - President Theodore Roosevelt

11 October, 2023 -- The Earth spinning is as constant as the International Community’s obsession with war. As the reader looks over this article, thousands are being killed in Africa and the tensions between the world’s premier superpowers escalates. Even near our home the nation’s such as the Bengal Kingdom and Chinese State experience uncertainty as their citizens revolt. Security is perhaps the hallmark of the early 21st century. Our world has been shaped by the nuclear hellfire of the old world, it is important that we maintain strategic security to ensure such a conflict never has to occur again.

We inhabit a multi-polar world and that births competition. Competition is as much of a disadvantage as it is a benefit. Not since the Soviets and Americans exchanged nuclear weapons have we been in such a dire international circumstance. It seems that the European-South American Cold War will persist forever as the old ideological battle between communism and capitalism persists. That is why our Great Empire must steer clear from the misguided influences of the external and reject the notion of being a superpower. Our fight, really our defense, is located here in the Asia-Pacific, the region we live to defend.

Defence Minister Hibako has announced, with the Emperor’s blessing, that the Empire of Japan will not tolerate the spread of the Cold War into the Asia-Pacific. Essentially, Japan has taken a stance of armed neutrality promising to repel any power attempting to thwart Asian security. The Defence Minister also called on the Asia-Pacific community to do the same and by nobely ‘safeguarding our future’. Unfortunately, plenty of our neighbors view the Cold War with misguided and envious eyes. Perhaps coercion is the next step in our strategic security?

Seventh Republic increases interior security

The French Seventh Republic has announced a new range of measures aimed at improving the nation's interior security as political terrorism takes hold in Europe. In addition to intelligence agencies launching extensive investigations surrounding events in France and the surrounding countries, there will also be a visible increase in security personnel guarding politicians, state officials, foreign embassies, the DEU Assembly, and public places. Security forces have also been deployed to Andorra. The French Confederation has also expressed to the people of both the URT and the ADE sincere condolences from France, with President Noir saying that "Emperor Martin was a distinguished figure whose legacy was the reunification of the Austro-Danubian nation. It is a tragedy that assassinations and public atrocities have destroyed innocent lives in recent months, and I hope that our continent may come together to stand against such evil."

DEU debates "Climate Stabilization Compact"

The French team at the DEU Assembly has proposed a major EIM policy reform, known as the "Climate Stabilization Compact". If approved, the DEU's efforts towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions will become more organized at the continental level, support will be guaranteed during the stages of economic transition, and the DEU will be given new powers to restrict trade with nations which turn a blind eye to the potential catastrophe of Climate Change. The Second Soviet Union and Seventh French Republic were together with the North American Federation the original signatories of the Moscow Green Treaty, which remains to this day the world's most progressive international document on climate affairs, and it has been confirmed that if the Stabilization Compact passes in the Assembly the Federative Union of North America will match Europe's commitments.

The Death of an Emperor: The Question of Succession

SALZBURG... mourning and shock sweep through the Empire as the news of Emperor Martin von Habsburg-Lorraine's murder spreads. The late Emperor was murdered by his own soldiers in Hohensalzburg Castle, men who pledged to protect him no matter the circumstance. The Emperor, dubbed as the greatest Austria has ever had, was loved by most Austrians and his death has proved to be a great upset to the people of the nation.

The perpetrators were cornered in the castle just minutes after they murdered the Emperor. Imperial loyalists engaged them in a gunfight that left all three assassins dead. Their identities were released to the public shortly after, their names being: Simu Boroi (an Austro-Romanian, believed to have been the one to actually fire the shots that killed the Emperor), Ilie Manescu (another Austro-Romanian), and Jonas Morgenstern (an Austro-Hungarian). All three bore marks of the Iron Guard, leading to a wildfire of anger against the Iron Guard as it has been accused of the plot itself (and has been public in its distaste for the institutions imposed by the late Emperor Martin in the latter half of his reign.

The Directory assumed direct control of the Imperial Government moments after the Emperor's assassination and ceded executive power temporarily to solely the two acting Proconsuls. Proconsul Nicolae Dimitru (chairman of the Iron Guard), however, was reported to have fled Vienna shortly before the assassination, further tying the organization to his death. Dimitru's position was immediately suspended and the seat of Proconsul was handed to the Speaker of the Directory, Jonathon Mueller of the Vienna Party. Proconsul Lukas Birschoffshausen assumed his position's duties without trouble or question. General Edmund von Grau has also been called to Vienna should the situation escalate into anything greater.

The Directory released warrants for the arrest of Nicolae Dimitru and other key leaders of the Iron Guard, and the loyalist majority of the Empire has taken it upon themselves to seek justice against the Iron Guard wherever it may be. Riots are breaking out across the Empire as loyalists and the Iron Guard clash in the streets.

The Empire in its despair has ultimately come together, however, and many of the major cities are host to massive ceremonies and candlelight vigils to honor the late Emperor. The largest of these taking place in the city of Salzburg itself.

=-=-=

The question posed by most citizens of the Empire is obvious: what happens next? The Empire needs a figurehead to lead her people in the pressing times to come. As tensions mount between the Iron Guard and the Imperial Government, and as the threat of war looms over Iberia, we need a leader now more than ever.

The Directory appears to have already debated and answered this question as the late Emperor’s daughter and heir, Princess Nicole von Habsburg-Lorraine (second of her name), has been called to Vienna from Salzburg where she was spending the time with her father in their vacation home of Hohensalzburg Castle. Empress-Mother Anastasia will be accompanying her. Princess Nicole, although just a young girl, is the only suitable claimant with a claim on the Austrian throne. The fourteen-year-old girl is being escorted by Reichswehr operatives who are natives of Metropolitan Austria and have no ties at all to the Iron Guard.

As a young girl cannot be expected to carry out all of the duties of an Empress, Edmund von Grau has been appointed as her regent. Nicole will have to carry out many of the duties of an Empress upon her coronation, however, including that of the public head of the Empire and even some legislative duties.

Image
Princess Nicole von Habsburg-Lorraine
A girl of just fourteen, Princess Nicole is set to be elevated into one of the most important positions in the world. She has been described by those who have had tutored her as a very capable girl, almost being born to rule. Her private tutor, Doctor Sabine Klink, has gone as far as to say that she "exhibits qualities akin to those of a genius." Excelling above all others in her class, she is capable of understanding university level courses beyond the level of standard comprehension. A reason for her genius could be tied to many of her doctors' reports of her portraying "tendencies akin to minor autism," including a lack of social skills around peers, her being prone to overstimulation, and an acute pickiness when it comes to her choice of food and clothing. That being said, however, she enjoys many of the activities that girls of her age typically do -- taking part in gymnastics, showing an interest in fashion and design, and her love of the violin.

According to reports the Princess is not handling the news of her father's death and her ascension very well. She is scarcely without tears in her eyes, and is refusing to appear in public as she makes her journey to Vienna.

Leaders from around the Empire, Triumvirate, Europe, and the World have been officially invited by the Directory to attend her coronation, which is set to take place shortly after her arrival to the Schoennbrunn Palace in Vienna. Rumors that the Pope himself is being invited to crown her as Empress have spread in regards to said coronation ceremony. Those that come will also be invited to attend the funeral of Martin von Habsburg-Lorraine, which is scheduled to take place after the coronation ceremony.

GU Deploys 10,000 troops to Austrian Border, calls assassination of the late Emperor Martin "Tragic".

Today in response to the Austrian Iron Guard Assignation of the ADE Emperor, the GU has decided to deploy 10,000 soldiers to the GU-Austrian border in an attempt to prevent former Iron Guard members from sneaking into the GU. The GU has also stated that should they capture Iron Guard members crossing the border they will be immediately transferred to Vienna for the ADE to decide their fate.

So far the entire German government has sent their condolences to the ADE Royal Family, knowing how tragic loss can be after a 2016 plane crash took the life of Kaiserin Adole.

However on a brighter note both Kaiser Wilhelm IV and Councilman Muller have expressed high hopes for the ADE under Empress Nicole. Saying "If she is even close to as advertised she will lead the country greatly."

The exercises are part 2 of 2 from the last post about military exercises.

Palveiro's AFRE 2023 speech: 'Make Lusophone Portugal Again!' | Público
Image
The Armed Forces of the Republic's annual military exercise concluded this week with speech from President Sara Palveiro, which she used to praise the military branches and thanked Germany for it's participation. Hailing the troops as 'noble holy warriors,' Palveiro connected the modern day Armed Forces of the Republic all the way back to it's predecessors from the 9th century. Here's what happened the rest of AFRE 2023:

The red counterattack began with their own short-range ballistic strikes supported by massed fires from 52 multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) and 72 artillery guns, spotted by reconnaissance aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), as well as the deadly TOS-1A Solnstepek flamethrower. From then on, the red force retained the initiative in the air using airborne early warning (AEW) assets to coordinate interdiction strikes against blue supply lines, to shoot down enemy aircraft with ATA missiles and finally to suppress remaining blue airfields with cruise missiles from strategic bombers protected by F-35 fighters. Despite this red rally, blue anti-aircraft weapon systems successfully defended against red air strikes on the last day of the exercise, enabling blue to simulate a successful short-range ballistic launch against red’s command post.

Other components of AFRE 2023, generally followed this script: in the neighboring areas, initially successful UAV-informed offensives and advances gave way to defending garrisons from Commandos (Lusophone's special forces) insertion to steal their plans or equipment. After red regained the initiative, units practiced cleaning up contaminated equipment from hypothetical chemical spillages, rescue and survival skills, and even a joint Lusophine-German search and rescue of a downed passenger plane.

At sea, the Naval Action Force (surface fleet) was divided into two: "Fleet One" traversed the Northern Atlantic to act as the blue navy for the maneuvers while "Fleet Two" served as the red navy. Blue’s Brigade landed on an unequipped beachhead in at the very start of the exercise, followed by a rapid march over 270 kilometers while repelling enemy reconnaissance and special forces probes. At the end of the exercise, they were seemingly “opposed” by red Fleet naval infantry performing synchronized drills far to the south; this red force then destroyed them with a combined air, sea and land operation. Further details of the naval combat were sparse: the red fleet executed a rapid withdrawal to the sea at the start of the exercise, followed by a mine-countermeasures exercise and anti-ship missile launches.

A red victory is unsurprising: red forces are the protagonists in the exercises, and the Germans were also assigned to the red team. This makes the simulated blue tactics more interesting, especially a reported “new type” of air assault. However, the fact that red forces were based in the east likely somewhat obscured true defense plans from the German guests, making the AFRE 2023 maneuvers a far more classical educational game than other strategic-operational exercises.

President Sara Palveiro's speech also included remarks expressing condolences to the people of the Austro-Danubian Empire and condemned the assassinations, saying "Europe must now come together and take a united stand against political terrorism that has mutilated our shared soil." Prime Minister Téa Lacerda will be the representative to attend the ceremonies in Vienna.

While Palveiro's remarks to express condolence to the Austro-Danubian Empire were not controversial, seeing as the two countries have a base-sharing agreement, Palveiro's speech also included a proposal about renaming the country back to 'Portugal' again were. Palveiro is being accused of politicizing the military for her remarks, which has been known to be neutral in political matters:
...and on the topic of our history, it is important to point out that our great troops -- you! -- have always played a fundamental part in our country's history. A history, that we should be proud of! For centuries the world has known us as Portugal. A great, powerful and mighty nation with a mighty military that stood by her. As the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic and the President of our Republic, it is my solemn duty to do our armed forces proud and our country proud. As such, I am proud to tell you that the Frente Nacional will proudly make Lusophone, Portugal Again!

The Lusophone Republic's name was changed from Portugal many decades ago as a sign of the country's commitment to integration, globalization and inclusiveness. The country was renamed Lusophone because Portugal was a central hub for the ethno-linguistic group of peoples and nations across the world that speak the Portuguese language. The history of the Lusophone world is intrinsically linked with the history of the Portuguese Empire, although Portuguese diaspora and Brazilian diaspora communities have also played a role in spreading the Portuguese language and Lusophone culture.

The Lusophine Identity Law is being revised as the 'Portuguese Identity Law' and will include the name-change, or rather name-reversion and is unsurprisingly expected to pass Parliament. The reversion of the country's name to Portugal has been a divisive topic for decades and the Frente Nacional's move to actually act on it is being met with conflicting emotions. On one side, it is invoking a lost sense of patriotism and national pride in the country's name across the nation. Critics however, regard as the latest move by the Palveiro's Frente Nacional to consolidate power and capitalize on an increasingly nationalistic nation. On the other side, it is being seen as hostile to immigrants and a step back against inclusion and progressivism.

Foreign Secretary Constança Rial has condemned the transport of Chico Manquinho to Puertollano. In a new statement, the Foreign Secretary said:
We are disappointed of the Galician government's decision to transport Chico Manquinho to Puertollano, a grave sign that Galicia has no respect for Portuguese sovereignty and rule of law. This obstruction of justice will not stand.

The Balabac Situation
Image

After the August 20 Balabac incident, in which San Martinian students led a protest against the Australian government, many of the student leaders were arrested, as well as the district representatives who refused to attend a council meeting in protest. Thousands of protesters in both Australia and San Martinia took to the streets, urging their release and an official statement from the San Martinian government. Although President Sánchez personally offered to mediate between the large San Martinian diaspora in Balabac, no further official statement was made from the government.

However, many others showed their support for the student protesters. The official twitters for Cencosud and Falabella, two of Balabac's main retail companies and San Martinian in origin, both tweeted in support, claiming the arrest of the local representatives as in violation of democratic principles. Vice President Rivero, when asked about his personal opinion of the matter, stated that while he "did not support the violent actions undertaken by the protesters, the arrest of the district representatives crosses a line." The hashtag #BringThemBack became trending on twitter, until all the prisoners were released and cleared of charges.

This move was widely hailed as a step in the positive direction, however some were more critical of the entire situation, calling it "scary" that the Balabac Island police had arrested the representatives in the first place. Even more were fearful of further cultural conflicts between the San Martinian diaspora and the Australian government, with President Sánchez reportedly still willing to mediate in order to decrease tensions as much as possible.

Collision in the Río de la Plata
Image

Early morning yesterday, a cargo ship departing from Uruguay crashed into a private yacht while en route to Buenos Aires, wrecking the smaller boat. Although search and rescue had managed to save the couple and pilot who were on the yacht, the boat was not salvageable.

The pilot claimed that the yacht had drifted out of its planned route due to the engine failing, accidentally entering the path of the large cargo ship. He claims that the cargo ship had sighted the yacht, but opted to continue forward rather than stop or maneuver out of the path of the yacht. Contradicting reports from the cargo ship claims that the yacht engine was fully functional at the time but the pilot had become distracted and shirked his responsibilities, and so, while the yacht did have the capability to move out of the way but the cargo ship did not due to short distance, the pilot's negligence resulted in this not happening.

The FSR has put out a warrant for the arrest of the pilot, charging him with negligent seafaring. The pilot, however, maintains his innocence and is currently at a hospital in Buenos Aires alongside the passenger couple. It is unlikely that the local Buenos Aires police force will turn over the man to FSR authorities.

This incident has sparked national attention to the issue of the binational Río de la Plata, however. Many far-right fringe groups claim the FSR ships are being instructed to collide into San Martinian boats in the river, while others propose the creation of a binational safety committee to coordinate and prevent further incidents that could cause loss of life.

The Albicelestes Take Stand Against Racism
Image

The Albicelestes, San Martinia's national football team, recently posted on their official instagram, and on the instagrams of some of the players, an image of the team behind a banner encouraging people to fight against racism. Although seemingly mundane, this moment could possibly represent a turning point in San Martinian society and history; specifically, against the notion of white supremacy.

San Martinia is considered a cultural melting pot, with prominent influences from many European cultures. However, aside from small influences in respective cultural and ethnic groups, African, Asian, and Amerindian cultural influences are relatively rare. This is likely due to San Martinia's ethnography; waves of European immigration throughout its history were simply of such great magnitude compared to other sources that the great majority of San Martinia's population is white, compared to more mestizo majorities in most of the rest of Latin America. As such, various European cultures predominated, most significantly Italian but also Spanish and German. This is not to say that non-European groups do not exist in San Martinia; large Arabic/Levantine and Chinese groups are a testament to this. However, a notion of white superiority exists in San Martinia, especially in older persons.

This has historically been most prominent in racism against Mestizos, with both white and Amerindian ancestry, as they are the largest "minority group." Derogatory terms such as "bolita", "paragua", and "boliguayo" refer to Mestizos from Bolivia and Paraguay. Even the term "mestizo" has sometimes used in a derogatory form, to mean "impure" or something of similar intent. Racism against those of African descent has similarly phrased and used, and is reportedly worse due to the much smaller community.

This had led to a common cultural perception of San Martinians as arrogant and racist, which is likely close to the truth. Efforts to combat this racist ideology have been prominent since the 1970s, and has led to a social phenomenon in which outright racism is condemned. However, this notion of white supremacy persists in other fashions, such as dislike among racists of the cumbia villera music genre, similar to the American "rap" genre.

The growing awareness of San Martinian racism, which had, prior to the 1970s, been denied by most, has been spread nationally by the team's simple posts. Adored and idolized by close to the entire population, the football team's posts could soon result in an ending to San Martinian racism. It not only represents the growing awareness of racism and increasing dedication to fight against it; it also provides a new method of communication to bring such topics to light and to the national spotlight, even more so than it was previously.

Some critics have told the team players to "stick to football" and claimed the players "had lost their support." However, the response has been overwhelmingly positive, with most congratulating the players for using their platform to make a difference in society. President Sánchez reposted the image on his official instagram, showing his support for the sentiment.

BALABAC - The Australian military has kickstarted amphibious and naval exercises on Candaraman Island off the coast of northeast Balabac with several participating naval contingents from different countries, military officials said. The Australian military coined the name 'New Dawn 2025' for the exercises as a symbolism to the three participating naval contingents', China, Australia, and France (referring to Indochina), geographical positions.

More than 2,500 marines alongside 600 Chinese and 800 French marines will be participating in amphibious landings off the west coast of Candaraman Island. Australian units and their foreign counterparts will be tested for their effectiveness in being able to cooperate with each other in order to take their assigned objectives, as well as being able to react to spontaneous enemy movements or attacks. AH-17 helicopter units from the Australian Navy will also be present during the landings to act as fast response support to the attacking marines.

Meanwhile, at least 20 Northcott guided missile destroyers and about 10,000 seamen and airmen, along with the Chinese Navy's 5 ship fleet , led by the aircraft carrier ROCS Gònghéguó, and the French Navy's 10 ship fleet, led by the cruiser Metz will be participating in firing and maneuver exercises off the east coast of Candaraman Island in the Sulu Sea.

Other than the aforementioned exercises, 'New Dawn 2025' will also allow troops to immerse in the different strategies, martial arts and other technical information the different military contingents use.

The exercises are expected to last for three weeks, up until the first week of November 2023. According to the Australian military, 'New Dawn 2025', is one of the biggest naval exercises that the Australian armed forces will be participating on. The military says that such exercises are necessary to ensuring that the navy is on its '100 percent'. The exercises also ensure mutual cooperation with other countries as well as deliberately projecting Australian military power in the Asia-Pacific.

Zero waste output closer to being a reality
October 18,2023 | Isaac Livingston

The Department of Environment is still hoping to reach 0% waste output
CANBERRA - Almost 4 years since the Legislature House passed House Bill No. 7581-2019 or otherwise known as the Zero Waste Act of 2019, the goal's vision of recycling 100% of all household and commercial waste in the country is nearly within reach, albeit a year behind expectations, according to Helios III CEO, Sean Ignacio, following a report by the Department of Environment (formerly Ministry of Environment) that showed that about 80% of Australian households are recycling no less than 70% of household and commercial waste.

These results can be attributed to one of the bill's provisions that require Australian households to be able to strictly properly segregate their trash into 8 categories, and the otherwise ardent awareness programs conducted by the Department of Environment in several schools. The high fines and penalties that are enforced in relation to not properly segregating or throwing garbage also serves as a major factor as stated by leading Australian environmentalists.

The Zero Waste Act was sponsored and heavily supported by Helios III, AusGroup's biggest renewable technology conglomerate. Since 2019, the company had established almost 400 'recycling stations' across the country to process and recycle wastes using smart technology laser sensor recognition systems developed by Helios III into 34 trash categories. The company has also been responsible for providing Australian towns and cities with Smart trash bins in a contract with the Department of Environment. Helios III has also been able to open 25 power stations that generate renewable energy from garbage processed from their 'recycling stations'. Overall, ever since the passing of HB 7581-2019, the company has been estimated to have earned hundreds of millions of dollars from deals and helped generate thousands of jobs.

The Legislature House congratulated the minister of the Department of the Environment who was also the former head division chief for Renewable Technology at Helios III, Reagan Skopje, for being able to successfully achieve the goals of the Zero Waste Act.

The exercises are expected to last for three weeks, up until the first week of November

San Martinia: A World Champion of LGBT Rights

Image
22/10/2023 - 17:23 Clarin.com | Society |

Recently, the nations of Italy and Puertollano brought equal rights for the LGBT community into their national spotlights since Italy's Partito Democratico added an LGBT Action Plan to its campaign and Puertollano's National Assembly passed a bill allowing transgender persons to legally change their gender. These actions were hailed as "great steps towards equal rights for the LGBT community" in their respective countries. However, comments from Puertollanoan President Castillo and Foreign Minister Arreaza have drawn widespread criticism.

Castillo called the bill "a victory for the "LGBT community not only in the Bolivarian Republic, but all of South America." Many were quick to point out that such a statement implied LGBT rights in the rest of South America were not as well protected. Arreaza's comments that "the Bolivarian Republic [is] one of the best on transgender and LGBT rights in the world, surpassing that of many European countries," also seemed to exemplify such thinking.

Many in San Martinia objected to these statements, as the nation has been one of the main proponents for LGBT equality. San Martinia was one of the first nations in the world to legalize same-sex marriage, in 2010, making it also the first to do so in Latin America. Additional protections for LGBT persons were legally allowed within a few years, with same-sex partners currently having the right to adopt and have equal access to IVF (for female same-sex couples). Additionally, members of the LGBT community can openly serve in the military and donate blood, and practices such as conversion therapy are banned nationwide. Federal anti-discrimination laws also exist, with perpetrators of hate crimes on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity or expression able to receive a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

Significantly, San Martinia is the world leader in the protection of the rights of transgender persons, most prominently through its 2012 Gender Identity Law. This law allows transgender persons to undergo adult sex reassignment therapy and hormone therapy and legally change their gender without the approval of a doctor or judge. It has made San Martinia the "only country that allows people to change their gender identities without facing barriers such as ... psychiatric diagnosis that labels them as having an abnormality."

As a result of such protections, there exists very little social stigma. Polls indicate that 81% of the population agreed that "homosexuality must be accepted by society." As such, the nation is home to a large and vibrant LGBT community, and Buenos Aires is often labelled the "gay capital of Latin America," holding an annual pride parade (coming in a little over a week) alongside most other large cities in San Martinia. 65% of poll respondents claimed to either be a part of the LGBT community or know someone who is a part of it, while upwards of 40% of respondents claimed to personally know someone who did not identify with the sex they were assigned at birth.

The statements of Castillo and Arreaza, therefore, have drawn the ire of many LGBT activists in San Martinia. One activist said, "Great job Puertollano! Thank you for finally doing something that should've been done ten years ago!" while another claimed that "If Puertollano actually cared about protecting LGBT rights, this law would have done much more, much earlier." Specifically of Castillo's statement, an activist said that it was "disappointing that Castillo was ignorant of the his country's tardiness in the granting of equal rights to LGBT persons" and that it was "indicative of his actual disregard for LGBT rights." One openly gay politician even said it was "sad that Puertollano was trivializing the major steps forward other countries had already made towards equality simply to fit an agenda."

A-League to change game schedules for Socceroos training camp

MELBOURNE - With November right around the corner the A-League 2023-2024 season is almost finished with multiple teams already locked in for the playoffs. However with the World Cup fast approaching, the Australian Sports Commission has been able to persuade the A-League to temporarily give teams a 2 week bye for the first leg of World Cup training camp dubbed,"Golden Boot", for the World Cup 2023. The camp officially opened with the top 48 players being selected by a combined panel of sports analysts, experienced coaches, trainers and fitness instructors to participate in the said prestigious training camp. Meanwhile about 177 players for the U-20, and U-17 championships were selected to participate in training pools across the country.

The Golden Boot program will last for 2 months and is divided into three legs. Players will be tested on their endurance, agility, speed, and reflex skills, the 4 key skills the Socceroos Coaching and Training Staff want for their players to excel in as the team revolves around the possession, offensive counter attack game that current coach Jose Mourinho is leading with. Of the 48 players selected, only 33 players will be able to proceed to the next leg of the training, dubbed as "Golden Boot+".

The training for the World Cup comes as a result of the Australian Sports Commission's anticipation for the country to win its first ever World Cup championship, and that early training for the prestigious tournament will surely up the scales for the country's chances.

NATIONAL
Government announces new defence budget. A record rise from 2 to 5%

By Kantei Correspondent, Shiba Mitsukaze

Image
Kye Young-Su outside Kantei after press conference

Today, the Prime Minister’s office, popularly known as the Kantei has announced the new defense budget for the year 2024.

Minister of Defense,Kye Young-Su has announced a record increase on defense spending. From 2% to 5% of the national annual GDP. In monetary terms, from 48 to 60 billion Euros.

Although the official position of the government is to contain defense spending within 2% of the annual GDP, this is the first time such a leap has been taken.

Minister Kye has said at today’s press conference that “Japan’s ever expanding military and its imperialist ambitions threaten us, and our allies in the region. We must also expand our Self-Defense Forces, to an extent, so that we can be ready to protect ourselves and our allies from aggression by Japan, or any other superpower.”

The defense budget was approved yesterday by the National Assembly, but faced a great amount of opposition from the Environmentalist and the People’s party.

Minister Kye has also announced that Bengal is going to buy 15 latest generation Multi-Capability fighter aircraft from Australia to gradually replace the ageing fleet of F-4s currently in service in the Air Self-Defense Force. He has also vaguely announced a “base-sharing program” between the Self-Defense Forces and the Royal Australian Armed Forces.

It seems that Bengal may be slowly tilting away from Europe, towards Asia-leaning Australia.

Minister of Foreign Affairs in Irijolla, Indonesia. Plans to break a Friendship Deal to the Indonesian government

INTERNATIONAL

By Foreign Correspondent,Nishina Fukune

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yokosuka Kimisuke shaking hands with the Indonesian president.

Foreign Affairs Minister Yokosuka Kimisuke is on a three day trip to Jakarta as relations warm up between the two countries, and as Japan embarks on spreading its sphere of influence throughout Asia.

Prime Minister Itai wrote “ A new dawn of cooperation is shining for both Kawa and Indonesia. We hope to work with the Indonesian government and people and help them stand up on their own feet” on her FChan Miniblog.

AppleDaily contacted the Foreign Ministry for a comment, luckily we got one. Foreign Ministry Liasion Officer Kim Myun-sook has said that Minister Yokosuka’s visit to Indonesia is to propose huge investments to the Indonesian government. If approved by Irijolla, private companies of Bengal will invest in Indonesia, bringing jobs to thousands, if not millions. The Bengali government will also invest in Indonesia’s infrastructure, and will also provide a Semi-Hands Off monetary aid program to the Indonesian government.

He also said that the Self-Defense Forces are interested to do joint military cooperation. Major Touya Hamada has said that as Japan’s “tentacles| reach across Asia, Bengal and its neighbours must be more active, and cooperate with each other to contain the Japanese “threat” to the Imperial Home Islands.

Pacific Agency for Development Cooperation and Dispute Resolution

President Philippe Noir issued a noteworthy speech while visiting French Polynesia this week;

The Pacific is home to many different cultures, beliefs, and peoples. Today, this region faces significant challenges; the effects of climate change, occurrence of frequent natural disasters, and also the question of military buildup by great powers as instability in neighboring territories continues. Today, the French Confederation seeks to take a meaningful step towards addressing some of these concerns, or at least giving the stakeholders and population of this region a voice of their own. It is my pleasure to announce the formation of the Pacific Agency for Development Cooperation and Dispute Resolution. With an administrative office located here in Tahiti, the Agency will be open to representatives from all nations, NGOs, and local community groups in the Pacific. Regardless of ideology, race, religion, or past deeds, the Agency will offer a platform for constructive discussion by those who have the Pacific's best interests at heart. But, words are meaningless without action; what concrete steps will be taken? Today I found this Agency by laying its foundation with key areas of specific attention; climate change adaptation, rebuilding and resilience for those impacted by natural disasters, promotion of education proliferation and skill sharing, public health, economic development, access to information, cultural exchange, dispute settlement, sustainability, and advancement of science and technology. And so I declare the Agency operational, and personally extend an invitation to all like-minded nations, NGOs, and communities to sent representatives to Tahiti and be part of this new effort!

African Conflict Refugees
Image

President Sánchez recently announced that San Martinia would be greatly restricting the previously unimpeded flow of refugees from the conflicts that have recently consumed Africa, most significant in Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Refugees from these countries had previously migrated to San Martinia en masse under former President Salamanca’s government, put through a vetting program and then to assimilation programs in order to be better incorporated into San Martinian society. The estimated total amount of refugees was over two hundred-fifty thousand.

Critics of the refugee intake called it "economically unsustainable" and "potentially dangerous." They pointed that the refugees could bring dangerous ideologies, like the extremist Islamic terrorism or violent socialism that had caused their countries to fall to civil war and anarchy. Many others, however, said it was "immoral" to reject those "fleeing from war" and "imperialism." Supporters were quick to call the criticism "thinly-veiled racism," and that they simply did not want to take in "African refugees." For some, this accusation rang true. Racists claimed the African refugees would be "problematic" for San Martinia and "would not fit in."

President Sánchez called the restricting of refugee acceptance "unfortunate, as San Martinia has always been open to those fleeing from violence and searching for peaceful lives." However, he also said that the exponential increase in refugee intake since the beginning of the FSR-Europe Cold War expanded into Africa had made accepting large numbers of more refugees "uneconomical." Pressure on politicians to end refugee acceptance had been mounting as the community grew, with sentiments that the refugees had been "stealing jobs" becoming increasingly common.

Many were not convinced with President Sánchez’s reasoning. They claimed he had "encouraged the proliferation of racism against those of African descent with darker skin colors." They favored less restrictive guidelines and the abolition of assimilation programs to reduce the cost of supporting refugees. The assimilation programs too have been highly controversial, with supporters claiming they were necessary in order to "integrate the refugees" while others said they were "tools of racism, implying a superiority of white culture over the culture of the refugees." However, critics of the assimilation programs were in the minority, displaying a nationalistic trend that may be linked to racist ideologies. As such, the new refugee policy was pushed through the National Assembly.

Abortion Bill Passes Chamber of Deputies

Image
30/10/2023 - 18:45 Clarin.com | Politics |

Abortion in San Martinia, and Latin America as a whole, has always been a hot topic. The region's laws on abortion are some of the strictest in the world, with some countries even banning abortion entirely. Despite San Martinia's socially progressive laws on equal marriage, gender identity, assisted reproduction, and others, abortions are currently illegal except in cases of danger to the mother's life or rape. A number of abortion bills have been brought up in legislature before, but all have failed.

San Martinians are very opinionated and very divided on the issue. Various polls indicate that between 30% and 50% of the population supports the decriminalization of abortion, mostly stemming from the large feminist movement that grew forth from opposition to gender violence, popularly using the phrase "Ni una menos," for "not one less." The green headscarf has also become a symbol of the feminist movement in their protests.

This feminist movement has taken up the issue of abortion with a passion. It is estimated that near five hundred thousand clandestine abortions are performed each year, with over sixty women dying annually from complications related to them. Supporters of the Ni Una Menos movement point to abortion as a women's rights and safety issue. Other groups, such as the National Campaign for the Right to Legal, Safe, and Free Abortion and Catholics for the Right to Decide Argentina have also brought the topic to the national spotlight.

The main opposition to abortion bills has been the Catholic Church. Priests and other members of the organization have not been shy about their opinions of the matter, claiming that the decriminalization of abortion would be a "step backwards for San Martinia." Official Catholic Church opposition, however, is not likely to change the opinions of the population, as happened similarly in other socially progressive bills. Instead, this opposition is more likely to affect the politicians voting on the matter, with various reports stating that the Church was putting heavy pressure on some.

This new abortion bill of 2023 proposes the decriminalization of abortion up to 14 weeks, and recently passed narrowly in the Chamber of Deputies; it is the first of San Martinia's abortion bills to pass one of the houses. It was hailed as a historic moment for San Martinia by many in the green wave, and the Ni Una Menos movement also hopes it galvanizes the populations and politicians in other nations of the region to overturn the Catholic Church's pervasive influence and drop their strict abortion laws.

However, the bill's future in the Senate does not look promising. The bill passed the lower house with a mere four votes, dividing politicians even within parties. Although President Sánchez has promised to sign the bill into law if it passes the Senate despite his personal pro-life beliefs, the Senate is of a much more socially conservative makeup when it comes to the issue of abortion rights. The bill, therefore, is expected to fail in the Senate. Both sides of the debate, however, are continuing to put pressure on Senators. A national series of protests are being schedules by the supporters in places like the Plaza de Mayo of Buenos Aires, the Plaza de Armas in Santiago, and in other major cities, including the capital. Meanwhile, members of the Catholic Church continue their opposition, including from the pulpit.

Kidnapping of 27-year old Diana Gonzalez shocks the island of Balabac
November 2 2023 | Jessica Nate Sanchez
Image
The kidnapping of Diana Gonzalez, has sent shock and panic across the
Australian island territory. The Balabac police say that this is the first
ever reported kidnapping since Australia took over the island

BALABAC CITY - The island of Balabac has encountered a shocking news of events with the police confirming that the missing 27-year old Diana Gonzales of Balabac City has been kidnapped, the first ever reported case in Balabac. The young woman was reported missing by her parents when they said she did not reply to their messages to her the morning of October 31. Additionally, that same day, Ms. Gonzalez did not report to a publishing house where she worked according to her office mates.

After 24 hours since the initial report of her missing by her parents, on the morning of November 1, the Balabac Island Police officially listed her as missing, and an official police search was called up across the entire island. Around this time, news and media outlets were spreading the story of the missing woman. Over the next few hours, Several family and friends of the victim were invited for an investigation

The investigation soon got valuable information to the last reported sightings of the victim. The investigation revealed that Ms. Gonzalez was working late at her friend's home, Shayne Ramos, during the nights of October 29, 30 and 31. According to a statement given by Ms. Ramos to the police investigation, Ms. Gonzalez left her apartment after the she helped her with her new book around the early morning of October 31, and that after that morning she did not receive or had any contact with the victim. The investigators then had to browse through the nearby street surveillance cameras footage in order to search for possible leads as to what actually happened when the victim left Ms.Ramos' apartment on the night of October 31. The investigation found several evidences from the camera footage that showed that the victim was indeed kidnapped by no more than 6 people.

By 8:27 AM of November 2, the Balabac Island Police Chief Ronald McConnell gave a report to the island through a press conference regarding the investigation of the missing woman:

As of 10:32 PM of November 1, 2023 , the Balabac Island Police is confirming that Miss Diana S.Gonzalez, who had gone missing since yesterday morning by family and colleagues, has been kidnapped by multiple kidnappers.

The police investigation has shown that Miss Gonzalez left her friend Shayne Ramos' apartment before daybreak at around 2:28 AM of November 1,2023. Surveillance footage obtained by the police have further cemented speculation that Ms. Gonzalez was indeed kidnapped. Footage shows that the victim was kidnapped by at least 6 kidnappers wearing ski masks and equipped with military grade weapons. We are still trying to identify the kidnappers. The kidnappers also used a black FUSO Mitsubishi truck as their kidnap vehicle. As of this moment we are already trying our best to locate where that vehicle went to. Our latest evidences suggest that the vehicle only left the city just after more than an hour after the kidnapping of the victim. The black Mitsubishi truck was last sighted heading east.

We are not yet sure of the motive behind the kidnapping, but so far we have ruled out the possibility of kidnap for ransom as no close associates of the victim have received any demands from the supposed kidnappers. We are looking into this case as possible human trafficking.

We are calling out to people who may have seen the black Mitsubishi Truck or anything suspicious at the dates between 11:59 of October 31 and 5:00 PM of November 1 to report to us. We are ask everyone to stay calm .The police is reassuring everyone that we are doing our very best and that we will find Miss Diana Gonzalez.

As of this time we are asking all residents of Balabac to be cooperative with our search. Expect more checkpoints and more inspections from our officers starting this day. We will also be implementing travel restrictions in and out of the island, you will only be cleared to travel out of the island if you acquire the necessary travel orders that we are issuing from the Governor's office and the Balabac Island Police Headquarters. We hope that the people of Balabac understand this sudden chain of events. Thank you.

Many residents of Balabac have been seriously unnerved by the recent kidnapping. Several families have held up their children from going to school even though the police have said that they are always patrolling the island's districts around the clock. Businesses are taking a huge hit as many people prefer to stay indoors. The Balabac Financial Center is seeing less activity as many foreign and Australian investors are afraid to invest in a very bad time for business in the island..

The news and social media had once again boomed as hashtags such as #DianaNeedsHelp and #SearchForDiana became an avenue for witnesses and other people to pour videos , photos, evidences and other information that could help search parties. It also became an outlet for people to start making conspiracy theories. Many are saying that Ms. Gonzalez actually might be making up her kidnapping to get more publicity for her new upcoming book. Some are speculating Ms. Gonzalez was a case of mistaken identity and that the kidnappers may have been hired hit men, whose intended target may actually have been Diana's friend Shayne Ramos. Ms. Ramos is a controversial figure in the political landscape of the island. She has been highly critical of Scott Morrison's new reforms of tightening Australia's grip on its overseas territories. She has been patronizing and advocating for the creation of a more separate Balabac government from that of Canberra. This idea has not been recognized by the police.

Australians also expressed their shock to the recent kidnapping of Diana Gonzalez, The Australian Federal Police has already contacted the Balabac Island Police that it will be dispatching investigators and officers to help with the search. The Australian Society of Authors have also volunteered to help in the police search, alongside several more groups and organizations. CSN Representative Stephanie Beckett also expressed her sympathy to the Gonzalez family and said that violence against women should be an issue that the Australian government has to give more attention towards to.

Canada Sphere military exercises!
October 21st, 2023
Written by Albert Stringer

The Caribbean Federation, Canada, America and New England gets together to hold military exercises in the Hudson Bay, Eastern Seaboard, and in the Caribbean.

As a way to show off the strength of Canadian, American, new Englander and Caribbean military capabilities, three separate military exercises have been conducted in three separate locations all for their own unique purposes to demonstrate naval landings, island hopping, and joint-fleet coordination. The exercises have been said to have gone very well and indeed "demonstrated that despite decentralization, Canadian, American, Caribbean and New Englander forces remain an effective fighting force, individually in their own regards, and in most every way collectively." Prior to the exercises, the nation of Puertollano was notified ahead of time as to prevent panic during said exercises.

American 2024 Election; what's it look like?
September 16th, 2023
It's looking good for not just America, but really much of the Eastern sphere as well.
Written by Noach Leeuwenhoek

The American 2024 election is looking at 4 major parties coming to prominence; The National Social Democratic Party, the New Progressives, the Hyper Democratic Party of America and the American Popular Party. All of which hold vaguely similar views, all of which have been collaborating to some extent in the up and coming elections. The dramatic shift has been seen after the New Progressive victory in Pacifica, after the secession of New England and the subsequent victory of the coalition between the New England Independence Party and the New England Hyper Democratic Party, and the recent victory of the Caribbean National Social Democratic Party. Furthermore, statements made by the New Republican Party and the American Social Democratic Party had the American people in upheaval, given the New Republican's position of privatizing several key industries in America that would cost many employees their jobs, and the American Social Democratic Party's anti-nationalist, and in fact postnationalist stances also has Americans in upheaval. Other parties like the Tea Party, Green Party and the American Socialist Party as well are also believed to lose their base in the upcoming elections all for their own reasons.

So, who are these four parties?

The National Social Democratic Party: The National Social Democratic Party are a party of nationalistic social democrats, particularly taking their ideology and their party platform after Longist economic stances and policies reapplied to modern America. They wish to "redistribute wealth," one of such prominent figure Maximillian Lauwers has already initiated his own "share our wealth" program in his own state of Florida, even made a "Share our wealth" society for those outside of the state which is far more voluntary. and "re-established antitrust laws in their country," something that the Tea-Party/New Republican Coalition removed in 2021. They also wish to assert bans on abortions and lift certain restrictions on weapons such as assault rifles and light machine guns, stating that "it is important to repel tyranny by any means necessary. This may not be much but it is a start." They also support reforming education, enabling 2 years of universal college education and state-level funding of healthcare rather than attempting to do it on a Federal level. They're anti-interventionist on a foreign policy level, however would not mind maintaining free, albeit fair trade relations with much of the free World.

The New Progressives: The New Progressives are definitely an entirely different animal from the rest of the parties listed here. They tend to support social progressivism however also tend to support limited government intervention, including basic worker's rights laws and antitrust laws to maintain a fair and free market. On foreign policies they support Roosevelt's "Speak softly and carry a big stick" policy.

The Hyper Democratic Party: The Hyper Democrats as of recently have gained much traction ever since post-2016 particularly by American Nationalists. The movement pretty much wishes to copy-paste much of Canada's policies; instate a "Council of Economics & Technocracy," both on a state and federal level, wishes to bring about a cultural revolution which will transform the country into one that will lead away from the degeneracy of the modern World and make America both "Strong and Christian again." On foreign policy, they generally wish to intervene when morally justified and preferably if stricken first. They as well wish to harden border security.

The American Popular Party: The American Popular Party is made up of Populists, centrists, and Christian Democrats. They particularly support a Social Democratic economic system resembling that of many European countries such as Germany or France. On Social policies they take "Paleoconservative positions," which would include opposition to abortions in most if not all forms and reversing the nation's view of Transgenderism, of which they claim "Is an identity disorder." They as well support the reversal and reformation of numerous other social policies as well. On foreign policy, they support the "Just war" theory, but otherwise support the "Speak softly and carry a big stick" policy as well.

Fortunately or unfortunately depending on which side you are on, the Coalition may or may not win sufficient votes during the upcoming elections, which will cover both houses of congress and the Presidential election. They are projected to win 30-44% of the vote in Congress. However, crazier events have taken place in American history and in history in general, and this could be subject to change. But whether they win or lose, this will alter the course of America's history and politics both in itself and in FUNA permanently.

North American Union of Fascists; what's going on with them?
September 29th, 2023
An in-party coup, and a massive and abrupt reformation. The party has changed a lot over the course of a few years, interestingly enough.
Written by Noach Leeuwenhoek

The North American Union of Fascists is the most popular Fascist party and movement in the North American Federation, lead and founded by Silvio Baines. The party's platform since the disbandment of the NAF has seen radical change from within. The platform formerly used to encourage further empowerment of the President and the Senate, and called for major adjustments to the constitution. With this, they also encouraged the usage of the "Council of Economics & Technocracy" on a Federal level, and even an enforcement of having each Republic within the NAF, and every large subdivision within them ie States/Provinces have one as well. On social issues, they were very reactionary, wanting to reverse women's suffrage and supporting a "return to traditional values," discouraging women from entering the work force. Interestingly enough on race, they saw it as irrelevant.

Of course, this was their 2016-2022 platform, before the degredation of the Federal powers and the subsequent rebranding as FUNA. Ever since, the party hasn't been the same. Infighting, splits, and all the sort have plagued the party. Until very recently.

Recently, the party has gone through radical changes. Silvio Baines as been ousted a new party member has taken the reins as leader. Rudolf Blakeley has taken power in the Party and in the time span of a few months has taken the time to purge the party through continual isolated splits and re-establishing a set of principles and views for the party to base themselves off of. Believe us, it's radically different from before. His new platform revolves mainly on a few main points; the re-establishment of a strong Federal government, central planning, and massive internal social reforms.

Their new platform maintains a lot of what they wanted before, except now a revitalization of the strong central government and a further empowerment of it. They wish to make the Senate "powerful again," they wish to make the President exist again, and they want to make Federal courts and whatnot more relevant. They wish to rewrite the Constitution with "God, Liberty and Prosperity" in mind, as they put it. They wish to as well Centrally plan the economy. This would start through gradual integration and nationalization of major industries and replacing others with state run cooperatives based on what is needed. A system of State/Provincial, Republic, and Federal level central planning would be instated, basing themselves heavily off of a syndicalist economic approach. Their economic views aren't the only thing that has seen radical change. Socially, they are much different as well. Unlike the secular position of the NAUF originally, they have adopted a "State Christianity" platform, deciding that the Christian faith in all forms will be put first and foremost before any other religion and anyone lacking thereof. There would be "faith taxes" put on for other faiths, and "sin taxes" put on for Atheists separately but with relatively the same effect. They as well uphold the same view they held on women suffrage and in the work force; supporting its reversal and limiting women in the work place down to a few roles. They wish to as well begin closing off borders. Their view of race has definitely changed, however not in the way you'd expect. Rather than calling for a total bring back to segregation or choosing to not care at all, they'd rather opt to just ban "race mixing," stating "Mixed race couples tend to live worse-off lives and their children tend to be more likely to obtain hereditary diseases." How they intend on enforcing such a policy in the first place and how they define key words like race and ethnicity are still unknown, and they've yet to site a source regarding their claim on race mixed children. Their views towards Japan and Asia as well have changed, stating that "The Japanese are returning to a time period of tradition and assertion and have begun the process of leaving behind the degeneracies of the modern World." And so their hostile view towards the Asia-Pacific has been pacified. There've been a number of other changes as well, however many of such are unconfirmed or are allegations made by groups that have since broke off from the new party.

Back and fourth arguing between certain Communists in Canada and America have stated that they are "National Bolsheviks, not Fascists." However, the NAUF members disagree, stating that "They adopt the Fascist philosophy, thus are fascist." This has caused much controversy, and debates even within the party are flying around as to what they are. This begs the question as to whether or not the party will stay the way it is or if it will change. The party continues to try to find its own identity despite having reformed.

Something Sinister: A correlation found between darkweb murder ring and human trafficking ring
August 27th, 2023
Certainly something sinister is going on. Likely, the operation is larger than we like to think.
Written by Noach Leeuwenhoek

Not long ago, about 48 Albertan Provincial Guardsmen, assisted by 2 mortar teams and an E-35 attack helicopter, raided a compound owned by a tracked dark web murder ring. They destroyed their garage, broke in through walls and roofs, and killed nearly every single member of the murder ring cell, and saved many hostages. The only escape vehicle that tried getting away was obliterated by the E-35 using a rocket. The only two that surrendered found themselves tased, disarmed, beaten with butts of their guns, batons, and other blunt objects before being put into handcuffs and sent off to be interrogated all in the Middle of the night and in the course of 56 minutes.

Just recently, Canada and the FSR got into a dispute over whose laws a group of Canadian human traffickers would be prosecuted under. The Canadians and Orostanis went as far as to get into a fist fight and subsequent gunfight over it, which had lead to both governments renegotiate prisoner exchanges and the sort.

However as of recently, Canada has discovered something kind of scary; they found a correlation between these two groups and other rings and human trafficking operations throughout the World. From Pacifica, to Germany and Danube and sources are still being traced back. This of course was following an interrogation of a member of the human trafficking ring and a surviving member of the murder ring after being interrogated for 8 days straight. Already, 2 small groups in Germany have been apprehended, with joint German-Canadian task-forces clearing them both out killing about 14 of them and capturing the remaining 10. Another relatively large group in Pacifica have been spotted and apprehended as well, as Pacifican Special-Forces were dispatched and they silently raided the compound in the mountains of Idaho, eliminating nearly half of the 40 man operation and capturing the remainder. They've already identified them as Arizonians. In Danube, another group living just off of Belgrade was raided by Danubian soldiers.

Canada continues its search however, and will continue digging their dagger deeper into the series of operations they have discovered.
