Stones wins Canadian Presidential Election by a landslide!
February 15th, 2023
Written by Albert Stringer

Unsurprisingly, Former President of the North American Federation Lucas Stones won the Presidential Elections in Canada.

Not long after the decentralization of the North American Federation into the Federal Union of North America, Stones and Willford had to resign from their positions. However, this was far from the end of the young Stones' career. Still fervent and idealistic, and now experienced, this was only the beginning of his career, and he had planned only to continue his work as a politician and hopefully, President of Canada. This was a dream that he would inevitably succeed as seen today as he won the vote by an 85% land slide not seen since President Overbeck's presidency.

Being president alongside Willford did force him to make some concessions. While Stones did say it was an "honor to work with Willford, and was definitely an interesting fellow." the dual presidency was still in his eyes, and the eyes of many Hyper Democratic movements throughout the Federation a bit of a detriment insofar as his plans. "Despite some of the setbacks to my plans, I was still pleased to be able to implement what was important." Stones had commented just last month. He isn't wrong to say what he implemented was indeed important; the updates to the constitution and the federalization of the Council of Economics & Technocracy are indeed important and distinguishing features of Hyper Democracy. The fact he was able to implement it on a Federal level is what is truly amazing despite the opposition he faced.

He promised, in the Canadian Presidential elections to assert Canada as not only the arm and blade of the newly reformed Federal Union, but also as a Global power, and a defender of the Americas and intends on reviving the old "Overbeck Doctrine," essentially a Canadian version of the Monroe Doctrine, and intends on continuing Overbeck's policy of being a "Terror to tyrants and despots." He wishes to expand on the "Every man a farm" reform, make way for more homes for Canadians, and expand on automation and education reforms to ensure that the inevitable mass automation of industry "harms the working people as little as humanly possible. Ideally, prevent it from harming them at all while maintaining economic feasibility." Lastly, he wants to further connections to "Fellow Anglo countries such as Australia and Britain" and "maintain positive ties with France and the likes." Whether or not this entails any military alliance is still in question.

His opposition not having much to back him into a corner with, and having respect for Stones practically gave the election to him. The Vanguard Hyper Democratic Party of Canada won 85% of the vote, with the Hyper Socialists with Bertrand Marshall coming in shortly behind with 7% of the vote, Daryl Victors coming in with the Canadian Union of Fascists with 4% of the vote and with a mesh of other parties making up the remaining 4%. The former Hyper Democratic President of the North American Federation is now the President of our Hyper Democratic Union.

Long live Europa

"Geography with European characteristics", or geological breakthrough with political and geographical consequences?

French geologist and political geographer Claude Benett today published new research dedicated to the boundaries of the Euro Sea. According to Benett's research, the Mid-Atlantic Ridge's extension north of Iceland has been previously neglected and leaves room for further exploration. By following the Kolbeinsey Ridge until it intersects with the Jan Mayen fracture zone, Benett has postulated that the Euro Sea in fact possesses a salient which extends out towards Greenland beyond the Mid-Atlantic Ridge within this fracture zone. Furthermore, the Euro Sea can be traced along the Gakkel Ridge up to the point that it becomes tangent to Novaya Zemlya and Franz Josef Land, which marks the boundary of Europe with Asia in the north down to the Caspian Sea in the south. Benett's report also asserts that the Nansen Basin, also known as Fran Basin, and Amundsen Basin, which sit near and between the Lomonosov Ridge and Gakkel Ridge, should also be considered a marginal sea of the Euro Sea alongside the Barents Sea. In essence, the Eurasian Basin west of Novaya Zemlya would be considered part of the Euro Sea under Benett's criteria, alongside the salient near the Jan Mayen fracture zone. Benett is expected to petition the DEU for recognition of these boundaries as official the parameters of the Euro Sea, stating that "the geological process which has lead to the creation of these landmarks are clear, and unquestionable. It is only logical that political acceptance of the true geography of the Euro Sea follows."

Bulgarian Communists and Socialists celebrate 120th anniversary of Socialism in Bulgaria

In the year of 1903, the Bulgarian Social Democratic Labor Party was founded by Georgi Dimitrov and Yankov Sakazov. The Bulgarian Social Democratic Labor Party would be repressed to the point of it being outlawed by Tsar Ferdinand I in 1912. Dimitrov, a staunch anti-monarchist and a pacifist, advocated for the abolition of the Monarchy and against Bulgaria's Entry into the First World War. The BSDLP established their paramilitary wing after the defeat in 1918 and after the Treaty of Neuilly-sur-Siene in 1919. The Red Guards of Bulgaria, the paramilitary wing that numbered a 100,000 by 1920 and 300,000 by 1922 whose task was to protect party buildings and event.

The Bulgarian National Agrarian Union took power in the National Assembly in March of 1924. The Tsar sides with the Agrarians inorder to combat Socialism in Bulgaria. The Red Guards heavily took up arms and raided 10 Military Bases all over the country. The Tsar is Assassinated in May of 1925 and the Red Guard moved to seize key government positions on the day after the funeral. Boris III, the new Tsar, ordered the Military to retake government positions. This sparked the short Sofia Commune which lasted from May 15 to May 19 when it was crushed by Bulgarian Soldiers. The BSDLP was banned and went underground. Georgi Dimitrov was captured in 1926 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. The Underground Red Guards were in constant street fighting with the newly established Union of Bulgarian National Legions, a far-right fascist political party. Georgi Dimitrov was released in 1928 on grounds of good behavior.

Georgi Dimitrov and Joseph Stalin, 1936

Georgi Dimitrov, reunited with the underground BSDLP, held the 1928 Congress of the People. The Congress of the People established many of the ideological doctrines in the current party of today. It laid the foundation for Christian Socialism. Georgi then campaigned hard to win favor from the people. He renamed the BSDLP to the Bulgarian Christian Socialist Union. World War II happens, he establishes the Zveno Movement together with other left-leaning Political Groups and he re-establishes the Bulgarian Red Guards. When the Red Army entered Romania, the Zveno Movement took their chances and staged an uprising against the Government in Sofia. They succeeded in ousting the Legionary Government and executed Hristo Lukov. Georgi Dimitrov at the platform of the National Assemby, declared the creation of the Socialist Republic of Bulgaria.

The Socialist Republic of Bulgaria was under the Soviet Sphere of Influence. Georgi Dimitrov died in 1949 and was succeded by Todor Zhivikov which ruled from 1949 until the 1980s. He singlehandedly increased the life standards of the workers right until his downfall. In 1985, Bulgaria left the Soviet Sphere and joined the Non - Aligned Movement. The BCP finally gave up its monopoly on power in 2013 and gave rise to a democratic Bulgaria. The BCP was re-established as the Bulgarian Socialist Party and is currently the largest opposition party in the National Assembly.

An Africa for Africans

Early this morning the leaders of the nations of Zambia, Malawi, and Tanzania signed the 2nd Commonwealth Charter, solidifying the creation of a new political union and a new power in Eastern Africa. After weeks of meeting in the three nations discussing everything from defense and trade to intervention in Africa by Europe and South America the leaders of the three nations decided to revive an old idea that had seen its end after the Great War, the East African Commonwealth. Originally created in the late 1800's, the Commonwealth stretched from Sudan to Mozambique and had led to the rise of a unique culture and mass industrialization across Africa. However, due to forcibly siding with the Central Powers in World War I, the Commonwealth was split between the colonial powers, ending an era of African Unity. There have been several attempts to revive the organization in the past and all have failed due to one reason or another, but today the Lion of Africa was finally revived. The tricolor lion banner was flown high today over the regional capitols as people celebrated the restoration as something that has been long considered an idealistic dream by many Africans.

In the capitol of the nation there was jubilation as Afrika City was once again holding the seat of government that had been lost to it in the Treaty of Versailles. Banners of green white and black filled the streets and the mausoleum of Simon Leonnis, the Commonwealth's Founder, was surrounded by cheering crowds. However, while the people celebrated many know that challenges lie ahead with the continent embroiled in civil war and proxy conflicts that could easily spill over into the fledgling nation. Military movements by both the FSR and Europe were also a concern as the government scrambled to fund a military and develop the national economy to be a deterrent for those hungrily eyeing the nation. To its South and West the DRC and Zimbabwe are caught in costly civil wars while Angola and Mozambique represent a possible route for a conflict with Socialist. To the north there was also the massive Zackarothian African Commonwealth which could either become a powerful ally or a dangerous enemy. Whatever the case and whatever the threat, the new Rais of the country, Jelani Nuru, made this promise to the country in front of the giant Lion of Afrika Statue in Afrika City.

.....for years now the powers of Europe and South America have been fighting war after war on the shores of Africa, fighting a cold war over the control of the resources and economic potential of our continent. However, not once have they sent aid to any of our nations prior to any conflict occur, not once have they stood in solidarity with us unless we served their interest of fit in the grand scheme of a new empire or a socialist order. Africa has paid for this for the last two decades in blood, sweat, and tears. Today, I tell the citizens of the Commonwealth and the people of Africa that there is now an alternative: an Africa for Africans. We have the ability to stand as equals on the world stage as we once did over a century ago under this same banner now waving across our nation. We traded as equals, were respected internationally, and a had a military fit to challenge the powers of Europe and beyond. The path back to that status will not be an easy one, but as the Rais of the Commonwealth it is my job to make that dream a reality. Africa will no longer be a backwater war zone, but a stable and respected continent on the world stage. So to the leaders of the world I say this: Enough blood has been spilled on our soil, it is time to stop sending weapons of war and revolution to our shores and extend and open hand to meet us not as subject but as equals.

Military Expansion Planned

With the EAC now in place on an administrative level, a large budget for military modernization is now in the works. While not an economic or military powerhouse by any definition, the EAC's armed forces are in a poor shape with Soviet-American War weaponry being the standard equipment in the field, an air force with fewer then 100 planes, and a navy on the verge of sinking at the dockyard. While in the grand vision of the future the military hopes to be self sufficient, for now it must depend on the military assets for sale on the open market to modernize, and quickly. With the threat of civil war spilling over from Zimbabwe and the DRC, the military needs to modernize within a short period of time or risk the Commonwealth falling apart around them. The military has been allocated just over 5 Billion to modernize the 200,000 strong fighting force of the Commonwealth. While this is a small sum it was all the commonwealth could offer with its current financial state. As such the military is focusing on modernizing its infantry equipment and light ground vehicles. A focus has been placed on a cheap attack aircraft as well. The military is searching for international bidders to try and contract or buy directly for in order to improve the military.

Massive Infrastructure Bill Passed

Shortly after approving the military spending budget, the government passed another funding bill that allocated over half of the government budget into improving national infrastructure. This includes everything from roads, rail lines, and ports to hospitals, police departments, and state funded factories. This funding is all part of what is being called the New Africa Initiative, a program meant to turn the EAC into an economic powerhouse in the region. Over a dozen cities received funding from this budget and a sizeable amount was allocated to revitalize Afrika City which has sat in relative disrepair since the end of colonialism. This funding also includes cultural and historical preservation such as restoring the 150 foot tall Lion of Afrika statue. The war memorial's golden plated exterior has been weathered and eroded over the past century since its construction and many looters have been removing the structure piece by piece. Cultural centers like Zanzibar have also received funding to restore areas like the city's Old Harbor to increase tourism revenue and preserve national history. Larger cities have also been reaching out to international companies offering them a place to set up factories and regional headquarters in one of the few stable places in Africa. Construction on new assets and restoration is expected to start sometime this week.

Army Cracks Down: Jihadists Smoked Out

At the direction of Prime Minister Akbar and the Minister of Defense, the army acted at great speed to utterly destroy the terrorist rats operating in Iraq. With great speed, air and ground forces moved into coordination to destroy terrorist bases of operation, terrorist controlled complexes, arms caches, and seize ground at risk to falling into the hands of the so called "Swords of Dabiq" or Sayuf Dabiq. "These crazed madmen must be drawn out of their holes and destroyed." Thundered the Prime Minister to Parliament, to universal applause (a rarity these days) from around the hall, with every MP coming to their feet and clapping and banging their desks loudly. Air forces initiated a vast bombing campaign against terrorist targets, and this was followed up by ground movements of prominently Arab army regiments to destroy the remaining enemies. Though the campaign, codenamed Operation Cinderblock has been successful, officials warned that the threat of radical Sunni Islamism is far from gone.

The Navy has reportedly sent a squaron of ships to the South atlantic lead by the ROCS Hangzhou. The stated reason has been to "protect Chinese intirests from foreign or imperialistic ambitions". Recent news of Germanic Union warships harrasing civilian ships in the South Atlantic may have prompted this move. With chinese buisness finally expanding outside our country onto the international stage, corporations have focused mostly on Asian African markets.

THE GHOST OF LEOPOLD VERSUS THE SPECTRE OF COMMUNISM

Just over a week ago Germany has announced they have instituted a blockade of the Congo coastline, in a blatant violation of the international laws that Germany and the other empires of today claim to uphold. The brash and reckless actions of the Germans have forced the PRC's, SRC's and Angolan military to be put on high alert, with the SRC having already begun major preparations in case of an amphibious invasion.

In the wake of German aggression, South American cooperatives and Chinese companies have announced their intentions to continue trading directly with the SRC. Recently and related to this, a joint Federation-Puertollan fleet arrived in the water near the Congo and met with a Chinese naval squadron.

Just now, South American and Chinese cargo aircraft and freighters have started heading straight to the SRC, in open defiance of the German blockade. A pilot interviewed prior to take off stated that they would ignore any German orders to turn back. How the Germans will react is unclear, but President of the FSR Julio Higashi has urged for a peaceful resolution to the crisis.

Overseas Investors

Shortly after the establishment of the EAC, investors from multiple nations began approaching the government resulting in a number of projects across the country. The current largest project approved is a road being built by San Martinia from Afrika City to Zanzibar. The road will be the nations first highway, HW-1 and will be connecting the nation's capital to one of its busiest port cities. This project will likely increase the availability of goods inland as well as drive up the demand for cars in the EAC Market as until now personal vehicles were not considered to be a part of everyday life. There is also another deal currently being hammered out between the EAC and URT for the construction of a high speed rail between the cities of Mzizima (Dar es Salaam), Lilongwe and Lusaka to connect all three former capitals and nations together. While this will have promising economic implications the EAC also hopes to make it a symbolic one as well showing the unity between the three members of the EAC.

Canadian Military Advisors Arrive

The EAC Military will be receiving its much needed modernization thanks to the aid of one of the world's foremost military powers: Canada. In return for a military base in Zanzibar, Mzizima, and Lusaka and military access within the EAC's borders Canada will be providing the military with a number of benefits. First, Canadian advisors and strategists will be sent in to train the military in modern warfare and help the EAC establish its combat doctrine, solidifying the nation as a regional power in Africa. Second, Canadian arms companies will invest in the EAC by building factories and allow for the EAC to have a base of production for its arms. Third, sending the military modern military hardware such as the UI-22 Fighter to bolster the ranks and replace the current outdated equipment currently within the armed forces. This agreement has the military staff thrilled as it goes far beyond any expectations they had. Canadian Military Advisors are expected to arrive within the month and training will begin shortly after that.

Tensions Rise on the High Seas

While the EAC continues its establishment on Africa's Eastern Shores, the West Coast is in a state of crisis as Germany and the FSR prepare to clash off the coast of the DRC. Rais Nuru made a public statement today to both the FSR and the Germanic Union saying the following:

...to the major powers of the world now off the coast of Africa I am requesting that your forces on both sides stand down before this cold war becomes a very hot one. To the German forces I say this, your blockade is blocking weapons shipments, but it is also blocking food aid and other trade goods from arriving to the DRC, harming the nation regardless of their ideology. To the FSR, your rash actions of answering force with force is more liable to get your African Allies subjected to the full force of Europe then breaking the blockade. In order to avoid any further conflict I am requesting that the forces of the FSR and Europe as a whole cease military and logistic operations on the continent of Africa and request that a meeting be held between the powers here in Afrika. This meeting will not end the Cold War, but rather it will prevent it from turning into a hot one. The East African Commonwealth Formerly invites representatives of the FSR and Europe to our capital of Afrika City to try and hammer out an agreement. We look forward to your response.

Cross-EAC high speed rail

Astaldi announces construction of high speed rail for the East African Commonwealth

Today the Italian civil engineering and infrastructure company Astaldi announced that it has won a NAF$30 billion contract to construct a high speed rail route in the EAC between the cities of Mzizima (Dar es Salaam), Lilongwe and Lusaka. This is Astaldi's first high speed rail contract outside of Europe as Atlantia, Astaldi's major rival, usually conducts international construction of Italian high speed rail for countries however Astaldi has proven itself to be more well-established in Africa than Atlantia, leading to it winning the contract to construct the high speed rail route.
Image
Trenitalia ETR 610 high speed train in the Alps

The scenic high speed rail route will cut across the EAC from Lusaka in the interior to the Indian ocean, connecting the capitals of three former nations of the EAC, a symbolic display of the unity of the EAC and a promotion of social cohesion across the diverse nation. Estimations from Astaldi predict that the economic benefits of linking the 3 large cities, which are economic hubs within the EAC, will far outstrip the $30 billion cost, with economic benefits of being able to travel from Lusaka to Mzizima in just over 7 hours expected to benefit the EAC economically by hundreds-of-billions over the next decades.

The high speed rail route will be 1,726 km and include a 61km-long bridge that crosses Lake Tanganyika, one of Africa's great lakes. Called the Lake Tanganyika Viaduct, it will be the 6th longest bridge in the world once constructed and will allow the high speed rail to cross over to reach Mzizima, a metropolis on the Indian ocean and a major economic hub of the EAC. The high speed rail route will be the 250 km/h standard high speed rail developed by Italian civil engineers in conjunction with Trenitalia, the state-owned and main train operator in Italy. Trenitalia will be building its ETR 610 high speed trains for the project, which run at 250 km/h and are one of the most robust Trenitalia high speed trains, making them the best fit for the hot, rural environment in the EAC. Staff of the EAC's train operators will be flown to Rome to conduct training in operating the ETR 610 trains on Trenitalia's testing tracks to ensure that the hand over goes smoothly once the project is complete.

The government of the EAC has agreed to a 10-year payment plan to Astaldi and Trenitalia for the $30 billion project. The Italian government hopes that the project will solidify and improve ties and relations between Italy, the URT and the DEU as well as encouraging investment into the EAC by other European firms by leading the way in investing into the country, which has great economic potential with a large population and rapidly improving infrastructure.

Taliscas: ‘Palveiro is Unstable’ | Lusophone Republic

Postby Lusophone » Fri Apr 26, 2019 9:42 am

MP Oluwakemi Taliscas: 'Palviero is Unstable' | Público Translated from original Portuguese to English

Image
President Sara Palveiro is on an international visit tour renewing and establishing relations as well as promoting her new foreign policy. She recently visited San Martinia (Anxiety Cafe) where it was announced that Lusophone would be entering a base sharing agreement with San Martinia. Palveiro's international tour continues to draw attention as she continues to defy norms -- after her San Martinia visit, Palveiro touched down in Puertollano where she established diplomatic relationships and visited a museum of Simon Bolivar. Her office denied criticism saying Palveiro's visit was insignificant and Palviero was there to "observe." Her office further emphasized it was not a recognition or taking any sides on the controversial topic.

However while Palveiro is earning her credibility as a 'stateswoman' with her party and the world, she is also drawing strong criticism from political challengers. Interviewed last night on 'Enfrente a República,' MP Oluwakemi 'Kemi' Taliscas doubled down and continued to denounce Palveiro and her government. Taliscas remarks are trending online, calling Palveiro’s foreign policy ‘unsustainable:’
Palveiro is touring the world telling us and the world that it's for the better. What her world tour, that we are paying for by the way, is really nothing but a vanity project. It's all to freshen up her resume. Her foreign policy is unsustainable and it’s not healthy for any nation or any relationship. And don’t forget, the President continues to push propaganda. That's not right. And you know what, the President is unstable. I said it. That's right, I went there. Every breath she draws, she is empowering the far-right in this country and all over the world.

MP Kemi Taliscas also highlighted teachers' concerns that the Frente Nacional's right-wing nationalism is now making it's way to schools and history textbooks. Rolled out at the beginning of last school year for K-12 students, history textbooks seem to have become more political. The Ministry of Education deflected these allegations and said:
We are beholden to no one. President Palveiro's withdrawal from the IUE was just and right. We get to dictate our history and our education, not the globalists. Children from other countries can proudly boast about their histories. How can we not? Lusophone is a glorious nation and with a glorious history. Our children are being brainwashed and our history is being erased. The reality is, our children are taught that they have every reason to criticize Lusophone. To see only the darkest historical aspects.

Taliscas also criticized the recent goodwill tour of three Lusophine warships to Orostan, which recently wrapped up concluding five days of joint drills on navigation and communication. Taliscas declined to specify her position on Lusophone’s DEU membership but made it clear she was more receptive to Europe than South America.

Orostani Fishermen Released
Image

Recently, three Orostani fishermen were arrested for trespassing in San Martinia's EEZ and illegally gathering resources from the fish stock. Their boat was detained and the three men were held for questionings on suspicions of sabotage or terrorism, although the three have now been released back to Orostan with their boat after an investigation found them innocent.

The arrests seem to be another indicator of tensions between the two nations, especially with the arrests of a San Martinian couple touring Orostan for suspected industrial sabotage. It is expected that these tensions will either flame out or continue to increase as the intensity of the proxy wars in Africa increase.

Despite the release of these fishermen, the Buenos Aires and national governments have announced significantly higher patrols in the Río de la Plata and a strict registration of all boats, ships, and yachts of all sizes that are to be traversing in San Martinian waters. Violators are set to pay a significant fine if they do not get all the necessary permissions. It is likely that this move is due to fears of further Orostani encroachment on San Martinian waters, which is why similar moves have been made in the Pacific coast near the Orostani state of Andea.

Opinion: Neo-Imperialism and the World's Response

Over the past decade or so, the world has seen a steady increase in imperialistic nations and actions, most notably from the Europeans and Orostanis in their Cold War. It's evident in European overseas holdings, like the French Indochina or the British India, and Orostani-captured territories like the ABC islands/FNI. However, the conflict between these two imperialistic blocs has caused the most damage, as seen in Africa. Nations like Nigeria, Mozambique, Mauritania, and the DRC have all seen these effects, some being torn apart by foreigners’ imperialistic ambitions.

The consequences of imperialism have historically affected the subjected peoples much more than the colonizers. A similar situation seems to be shaping up for this new wave of imperialism, with many residents of such nations being displaced, injured, or killed. Meanwhile, nations like Germany and Orostan continue to inflict damage on other nations in their Cold War, simply moving onto the next battlefield after each conflict. There have been no consequences for them.

There have been little to no responses to this unjust, cruel series of events. Most, if not all, nations fall on one side or another of the Cold War, and actively pursuing policy that would put them at odds with both sides would be suicidal. However, many nations object to such actions. The East African Commonwealth, for one, newly formed, aims for an Africa for Africans, not just as a way for foreigners to wage war with African residents as “casualties” rather than their own citizens.

San Martinia has been relatively quiet on the imperialist front. It falls on the European side of the Cold War, but has not involved itself in any of the proxy wars taking place. It seems likely that President Sánchez opposes such imperialistic actions, especially through his stated support for the EAC. However, San Martinia’s geographic location, next to the belligerent and often military-crazy Orostan, puts him in a tough spot, which means San Martinia will likely continue its policy of remaining in obscurity when it comes to such wars.

WAR GAMES IN THE BERING

VLADIVOSTOK — The Soviet Union announced that it will hold joint naval drills with Canada in few days, in another sign that the countries' militaries are growing closer in cooperation after the last war between the two countries.

The "Safe Sea 2023" drills will be held off the St. Lawrence Island in the BEring strait, Defense Ministry Gen. Vladimir Lebedev said at a monthly briefing. Taking place from Monday to Saturday, they will feature ships and submarines along with fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and marine units.

Gen. Lebedev described the drills as "joint maritime defensive operations" aimed at "strengthening the two navies' capability to commonly address maritime security threats."

"The exercise does not target any third parties," Gen. said.

Bonded by a common goal of improving post-war relations., Moscow and Canada are on the way of forging what they describe as a "strategic cooperation," expressing their shared opposition to the "unipolar" world.

The reformed Soviet Navy marked its 10th anniversary this week with a fleet review attended by President Aleksandr Dibrov, who is also head of the armed forces and has expanded the country's military might. Last year, Dibrov said the mission of transforming Russia's navy into a "first-rate world navy" has "never been more urgent."

To achieve those goals, Russia is also building ships at a faster rate than during the stagnant era of the previous leadership.

SOVIET SUPPORT FOR FUNA

The Supreme Chief of the Soviet Union Aleksandr Dibrov commended the devolution of the former NAF calling it "breaking the shackles of captivity" in his weekly speech before the National Council:

"We have witnessed a significant event, my comrades. On that day, the ordinary people of North America have made their choice and their power prevailed. Finally they have broken the shackles of captivity and delcared their will to live freely in a devolved society. But with that, our responsibility grew even bigger. We, as a European bloc, have to do the opposite by growing more united; for through unity, we will be able to preserve our greatness and resist potential enemies from the outside. With a more divided North America, Europe will be able to outshine other great powers and become a superpower itself."

As a veteran of the Soviet-Canadian war, Dibrov is described by some as very pro-European and sometimes criticising what some experts would consider friendly states, like the former NAF and the Persian government.

France withdraws from European Defense Community?

The Seventh Republic today announced their intention to suspend participation in the European Defense Community, pending a review of the DEU opt-in alliance's administration and scope. A spokesperson for the foreign ministry stated that "We hold separate treaties with all EDC signatories, hence putting the usefulness of the DEU EDC into question. This is not a final decision, but France will not honor the EDC nor expect others to honor their obligations to France via the EDC for the time being." Considering France was the architect behind the EDC, this has come as a surprise to some, however it has been postulated that this is perhaps an effort aimed at offering an olive branch to those within the governing coalition who oppose escalation of African skirmishes into a larger conflict.

Other news:

French Government assures public that they have no involvement in the DRC or Libyan affairs.
Sovereignty over Glorioso Islands to be shared with EAC.

Strategic Offsetting? MoD Declares the Imperial Armed Forces to be ‘Unparalleled’ in the Asia-Pacific

"Know your enemy and know yourself and you can fight a hundred battles without disaster.” - Sun Tzu

27 February, 2023 -- Strategic Offsetting? The phrase might mean little to most but to the Imperial Armed Forces it means life or death. Japan, being an island nation, has historically been vulnerable to naval powers. The United States Navy in the Great Pacific War was able to successfully choke our Empire by systematically eliminating our navy. The entire military apparatus has learned from the mistakes made almost 70 years ago and has applied it to the modern-day high speed battlefield. That is where Strategic Offsetting has come from. The idea is that Japan should employ capabilities that offset those of potential adversaries to augment traditional forces. While we see the Navy or Air Service swelling in size, we also see the development and procurement of anti-ship ballistic missiles capable of being fired inside the Home Islands and tagging targets anywhere in the Asia-Pacific. The adversaries would have to endure substantial loses before being able to attack themselves.

How does this make the military ‘unparalleled’? Japan’s security concerns lay solely in the Asia-Pacific. The Empire is not worried about vying for influence in Africa or partaking in neo-colonialism. Japan’s only concern is to maintain the integrity of our Empire and to prevent the Asia-Pacific from falling pray to ideological conflicts. The Imperial Armed Forces are already large, well-trained, and employ some serious equipment. Any aggressor would find itself strategically and tactically offset and unless they desire nuclear war, defeated. This is where the MoD stakes its claim and is something the people of Japan and the Armed Forces should revere.

Self Defense Forces announces expansion. Bengal and Japan vies for dominance in Asia-Pacific
Image

Minami Yukino, Self Defense Forces Correspondent

Today, in a press conference called by Minister of Defense Kitsuo Aranagi, he has announced an expansion of the Self Defense Forces “to combat unchecked Japanese aggression in the Asia-Pacific Region”. He said that “the Empire of Japan is trying to spread its influence across Asia through military means, unlike Bengal, which is trying to spread its ideals through peaceful ways.” And that “the Empire may take military action against Bengal indefinitely”.

After this, he unveiled the widely anticipated Sakura Shield Missile Defense System, which has been created in response to Japan’s ambitious nuclear and ballistic missile program. MOD has said that “the MDS’s functions will be eventually expanded to handle air invasions, and it will eventually cover all of Bengal”. As of now, the Sakura Shield MDS only protects urban population centres. But its believed that it will eventually protect all of the country in the next three years.

He also announced that a new Amphibious Assault Vehicle that can carry VTOL aircraft will join the Maritime Self-Defense Force to bolster Bengal’s air capability at sea

Maybe Japan kicking our ancestors out was actually a blessing. We were able to build ourselves up, rather than using money looted from Asia during the war

Palveiro: 'Enough is Enough' | Lusophone Republic

Postby Lusophone » Sat Apr 27, 2019 4:56 pm

Palveiro: 'Enough is Enough' | Público Translated from original Portuguese to English

President Sara Palveiro touched down the The East African Commonwealth today following the South American leg of her tour. Palveiro's visit comes at a time as nations around the globe have their eyes on imperialism and as many establishment pundits have conceded to her delight, "Palveiro's views were never far-right. They are mainstream, we have just tried really hard to ignore it." President Sara Palveiro spent the day meeting the Rais and shared her thoughts on issues in Africa:
I'm so glad that my message of multipolarism, is--and pardon the pun, multipolar and echoes 'round the world. The days of the world order as it exists today are numbered. The nations at questions are Lusophone's friends, and as friends we have to speak truth to each other and hold each other accountable: enough is enough. They must change if they seek to do real good.

Palveiro also expressed her backing of the Afrika City Summit:
For too long Europe and it's competitors have pranced around the world blindly, but now, that is over. Here we are today, clearly aware that their actions in Africa are spilling African blood. African nations are and must be sovereign. They are our equals, they are not less and they demand justice. Europe must come down from it's high horse and own up to any proven crimes and atrocities they've committed. Europe must realize that Africa is not Europe. Africa is Africa. It is not Africans for Europeans. No. They are not puppets. They are not children that need managing. It is Africa for Africans.

Palveiro has also announced that a Lusophine delegation will be attending the Afrika City Summit to show solidarity and offer any support if needed. President Sara Palveiro's international trip is expected to conclude after her state visit to Helensted where she will have a one-on-one meeting with the Emperor.

Socialist Republic of the Congo

A tense standoff happened when South American and Chinese freighters and cargo planes challenged the German blockade. Much to their relief, they were allowed to pass. The planes and ships were visiting for trade reasons, and in fact, not a single weapon was carried by them. In light of the recent success, trade between the FSR and SRC swelled. In addition, the FSR also agreed to help the SRC rebuild its educational system, which has severely suffered after years of civil war and the legacy of Belgian colonialism.

DRC Civil War Part 8: Blockades and Propaganda

The DRC Civil War almost erupted into a full scale war as Germany blockaded the very small coastline of the country, attempting to block support for the SRC. This plan backfired horribly as only 1-2% of supplies came by sea directly, with most of it coming from Angola and The Republic of the Congo. This ineffectual blockade has made Germany both a source of scorn and mockery amoung the SRC. Anti-German resentment has built up and many internet memes have spawned as a result. Germany ultimately backed down, allowing FSR and Chinese ships to pass.

However, on the ground the story was different. Both the ICC and HDMC are pushing the SRC. Despite the extra supplies from China and the propaganda boost, the SRC has lost ground to its two foes. In the north, the ICC was able to regain some of the lost ground and push the SRC out of Gemena and Binja. Against the TDA however, the where not able to push through the defensive line and where forced to retreat. It is believed the ICC is funneling in supplies from its section of the CAR, having been able to firmly establish itself due French inaction. It is believed if the French had launched a full on attack on the ICC's CAR branch, they would be forced to divert resources. Its unknown if the French would do this now or continue to hold their area.

The HDMC was hit hardest by the negative publicity by the SRC anti-German propaganda campaign but they quickly denied any German help or even expressed any desire for Germany to aid them despite the pledge for aid. Protest sprung up in former SRC territory by people unhappy with the German problem, but these where broken up by HDMC troops as peacefully as possibly. On the frontlines, its been said the HDMC commanders have told its troops to ignore SRC propaganda and Germany stupidity and only to focus on the fight against the SRC. The HDMC has stepped up its own propaganda campgain, trying to block out SRC propaganda by explaining its government style, appealing to the Christian religious nature of its people and trying to expose the SRC as a propped up South American government.

OP-ED: A Takeover | Lusophone Republic

Postby Lusophone » Mon Apr 29, 2019 2:56 pm

OP-ED: The Frente-Nacional's Takeover | Washington Post Translated from original English to Portuguese[hr] In Lusophone’s last presidential and legislative elections, the French National, Lusophone’s far-right party, shocked the world and won an absolute majority in the Parliament.

Since 2011, Palveiro took leadership of the party from her brother and has successfully rebranded it. Instead of being portrayed as extremists and xenophobes, Palveiro has portrayed the party as protectors of Lusophine identity and Lusophine values. Mounting cases and allegations of corruption from Lusophone’s center-left and center-right parties have left Lusophines fed up with politics and Palveiro’s rebranded Frente National came to power by setting classical liberal ideals against globalism and in favor of secularization, which she claims is a result of ‘a Christian heritage.’ Palveiro promotes Lusophine nationalism by claiming she is protecting Lusophine identity and now, she’s set her sights for the courts.

The party already has a majority in both Houses of Parliament and has the presidency, so it’s initiated a takeover of the judicial branch. The party has lowered the retirement age for judges, forcing out 1/3 of the Supreme Court and has packed the Constitutional Court with loyal judges.

The Frente National has also fired over 11,000 civil servants and 280 military officers, labeling them ‘enemies of the Republic’ and has cracked down on the media, slapping fines up to $400,000 on news organizations that it didn’t like the coverage of—and it’s been using Lusophine nationalism to justify their moves.

Image

Palveiro tops it all today after she concluded a lengthy international tour. Returning home from Helensted, forming a new friendship and signing a base sharing agreement, Palveiro signed a bill that will allow her party to replace every single judge in the Supreme Court. The new law gives the Frente Nacional unprecedented powers, powers that slide Lusophone further towards authoritarianism.

Anti-European Protests in Turkmenistan
Image

Coming live from the Turkmenistan Soviet Republic, the street of Ashgabat have been flooded by tens of thousands of protestors. The protestors claim that the Soviet government has betrayed socialist principles and the Soviet people, with some even going as far as calling the current administration European lapdogs. "For years the traitors in office have aligned with the same countries that stabbed us in the back during the Soviet-American War," one protestor claimed.

Although the emergent movement has mostly been centered in Ashgabat, it has been starting to spread to the other Central Asian republics. The protestors have demanded the resignation of the Soviet Supreme Chief Aleksandr Dibrov and an immediate end to ties with Europe. Even though the protests are only a few days old, many worker councils have started to put their support behind the protest movement, showing the growing unpopularity of the Soviet government's revisionist policies.

New measures announced to minimise casualties caused by airstrikes in Libya to avoid ostracising local residents

Today the Ministry of Defence announced that it is adopting tactics to minimise civilian casualties from its targeted killing airstrikes and airstrikes on key infrastructure and supplies of the Benghazi Revolutionaries throughout Cyrenaica. The main tactic to be used is 'roof knocking', the practice of dropping non-explosive or low-yield devices on the roofs of targeted civilian homes and other buildings that may contain innocent civilians as a prior warning of imminent bombing attacks to give the inhabitants time to flee the attack. In
Image
Aftermath from an airstrike on a BR weapons cache
addition to this the COC will send warning text messages to mobile and land-line devices prior to bombings in order to give additional warning to civilians while singling out known BR fighters and those who are on the targeted killing list not to receive the text messages to help mitigate the impact of the warnings on the actual targets of Italian and Libyan government forces.

These measures have been implemented after the governments wartime ethics watchdog investigated reports from the Benghazi Revolutionaries themselves of a high number of civilian casualties occurring during Italian and Libyan government airstrikes on BR terrorist targets in Benghazi itself as well as in villages and towns outside the city in Cyrenaica region. A spokesperson from the of Defence said "We have been closely investigating these claims of civilian casualties from the Benghazi Revolutionaries in conjunction with the independent wartime ethics watchdog and have come to the conclusion that civilian casualties have been too high to continue operations as the Aeronautica Militare is currently. Whenever conflict occurs, our priority is the safeguarding and minimising of civilian casualties while still holding a hard enough stance to appropriately combat threats." Apart from complying with the wartime ethics watchdogs findings, the Italian and Libyan governments are also attempting to avoid the ostracisation of civilians caught up in the conflict by ensuring that families and communities are not destroyed by airstrikes and give locals reassurance that the Italian and Libyan forces are taking all measures possible to avoid the death of civilians and safeguard innocents.

Unrelated to these announcements from the Ministry of Defence today, the ministry also confirmed reports that four Canadians, suspected to be mercenaries, were involved in a shoot out at a Benghazi Revolutionary meeting, rigging the exits with nail bombs and wiping out all BR members involved in the meeting. A spokesperson from the Ministry of Defence said "Whilst the Ministry of Defence does not condone the actions of these four people and believes that their use of nail bombs is needlessly unethical, we will not be taking active measures to prevent individuals from involving themselves in the conflict unless a situation arises in which these individuals cause terror or death to civilians on the ground, in which case action will be taken to subdue the threat to innocents on the ground."

Libya: The Crisis Worsens

Attempts by the Italian and Libyan government to win back the people in the Cyrenaica region are somewhere within the middling ground. After causing an untold number of civilian deaths by attempting to wipe out the Benghazi Revolutionaries, a change in tactics was announced among the Italians by trying to limit civilian casualties with a tactic known as "roof knocking". However, this tactic has been criticized as a cleaner version of mass killings as many BR members are Libyan citizens themselves and its almost impossible to tell the difference between who is and who is not a member of the BR. Since the first air bombings, support for the BR has grown in Cyrenaica, with many cititzens, especially those who lost friends and loved owns, refusing to cooperate with Libyan officials. In an interesting twists, citizens who have gotten text messages and calls about impending Italian strikes are letting BR members know about the attacks. Its even been reported that a custom phone app has been made to detect such text messages and automatically send alerts to BR members. This phone app seems to have been custom made by whom, is unknown as this moment.

A tipping point nearly came this weekend when reports of a Canadian Mercenary group attacked and killed BR members who where organizing a relief effort to aid citizens affected by the attacks. The attacks left all inside dead and in particularly brutal fashion. This has angered the civilian population in Benghazi and a massive protest almost turned into a full scale riot as people burned Canadian Flags and demanded that the Libyan government find the people who did this. 5 people where killed, including one law enforcement officer who was burned alive trying to put out a flaming flag.

The BR maintains its innocence in the Christmas Days attacks in Italy, again stating it was a radical sect of the BR that was inspired by the ICN and that they do not condone such methods. They also reminded the world that Italy also has other enemies besides radicalized BR members, such as the people who suffered the Italian Anthrax attack in Nigeria during the Second Civil War.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF FRANCE

MOSCOW -Following the French announcement about their intention to suspend theIR European Defence Community membership, the Soviet Supreme Council has voted to leave the EDC pact for good. The results were later approved and executed by the Superme Chief Aleksandr Dibrov. The rest of the 300 council members abstained. The decision was defended citing the redunant nature of the Defense Community for the Soviet Union and a waste of money which are much needed after the Soviet stagnation period. Russia already has pacts and partnerships with major European powers, namely France and the United Kingdom in the Triple Entente. In fact, the Soviet and French governments are discussing possible expansion of Russia into the Franco-British Combined Forces of the Entente.

Even without the allies, the Soviet Union is strong enough to defend its people and motherland thus, a membership in the EDC has become useless for the country. The Minister of State Sergei Lavrov gave an interview saying that nowadays, the differences in foreign policies of the member-states are vast and the Soviet Union cannot take responsibility and throw itself into another war because of an irresponsble action by another state. He discussed the recent blockade of Congo by Germany and how the German actions have made the country a proven liability for all the members.

The Soviet Union also decreased its contribution to the ESF by 50% as well as cutting the Russian manpower and membership contirbutions to the organisation in half. Nonetheles, the Union of Soviet States of Russia still remains a reliable partner and friend of Europe.

TROOPS SENT TO TURKMENISTAN

ASHGABAT- After the protests had filled the streets of Ashgabat, the capital of the Turkmen SSR, Moscow sent several Internal Troops brigades to help the local law enforcement. The head of KGB Vladimir Butin has arrived this morning to meet with the city authorities and discuss possible solutions. The protests calmed down after the results to leave the EDC were announced and the president of the Turkmen SSR has personally thanked the Supreme Chief for supporting this decision. The people of Ashgabat oppose the Soviet-European cooperation fearing that it will lead to the assimilation of the country and a loss of its unique culture and becoming another puppet of DEU as opposed to an equal member. However, throughout history, the Soviet Union has demonstrated through various examples its will for cooperation and preservation of its values.

DRC Update 9: The Big Crunch

The SRC and TDA have both suffered serious setbacks as the HDMC and ICC pushed inwards. The ICC, viewing French inaction on their CAR branch as a sign they can focus more resources on the Congo, launched another assualt on the TDA. The TDA was unable to counter this time and was pushed back, their defenses eventually putting a halt to a wider ICC gain. Meanwhile, the ICC pushed against the SRC, who where taking up defense against them to focus more on the HDMC. The ICC was able to push against the SRC line and drive them even further back. The ICC's zealot nature and unorthodox methods are compounding the fight against them as propaganda seems useless as the ICC will massacre execute scores of people found to be or thought to be plotting "socialist" methods against them. Crimes against humanity are abundant in the ICC territory and one online video has emerged with the ICC stoning and them burning to death several local government and capture SRC troops. The crimes are quickly reaching Nigeria levels of brutuality but the CSN believes as long as the West and South America remain at odds, they will allow these horrors to go on as long as it benefits them.

Meanwhile the HDMC encountered its own problems but quickly rallied themselves. Supplies given to them have not being going to the front lines, instead they have been going to border clashes with SRC agents attempting to infiltrate the HDMC borders and also stop insurrections within areas gained from the SRC. These have mostly been successful, with supplies taken from the SRC agents and distributed among the local populace. The war front went unexpectedly however. The SRC initially had an upper hand but the HDMC was able to rally themselves and push the SRC forwards. However, the fractured push left their rear open. Reportedly, NSR and SRC agents have created a backline and are attempting to nullify the gain the HDMC has just made. It remains to be seen what will happen.
