The Minister for the Economy has decried the efforts by the North American Federation to raise the interest rates in the Bolivarian Republic in reaction to the coup d'etat in Zimbabwe. "What we are seeing is a de-stabilisation campaign against the revolutionary government of President Castillo," the Minister warned. "It is an attack against all Puertollanoans, and we will unite against the threat from the North while they attempt to breed poverty and disconnect in our nation after the successful efforts of the President and our party." These words have motivated the supporters of the government to take to the streets in reaction to the economic attack against the nation. Supporters have flooded the streets of Bogota, Caracas and Quito in response to the NAF interest increase. The strains of the protests are of anti-imperialist nature and supportive of the President, someone who has refused to speak in public on the topic. It's unusual in Puertollanoan politics for Castillo to outsource such a speech to a minister of his cabinet, there are many theories around why he hasn't personally spoke about it. "We're not going to take this sitting down," a supporter of the government said in the streets of Caracas. "Again, we're under attack by the imperialist forces working to undermine the Bolivarian Revolution. When we invest our oil money into eradicating poverty in the nation, the North American Federation try and undo all of our hard work." This anger has caused a fire bomb to explode in the political headquaters of the Alliance for Democratic Values, a pro-NAF party within the country. Reportedly no one was killed but the interior of the HQ was burnt to a crisp according to the local fire department.
