FSR Attempts to Defend Itself with "Alternative Facts", Again

Recently, FSR newspapers once again attempted to defend their nation from the blatantly obvious truth: that they were behind the horrific terrorist attacks that left many Magellan and Italian citizens dead. The joint investigators rebuffed FSR attempts to discredit evidence, with some reportedly calling it "the behavior of idiotic lowlifes that people have come to expect from the FSR". They encouraged citizens to check internet archives themselves for a website with a similar URL and earlier times of upload. This website, undoubtedly the original terrorist website, was coded in Interlingua.

The investigators also called out FSR and Puertollanoan claims that information was being declassified too slowly, calling it another sign of defensive nature.

Magellan state run media has once again claimed that the FSR committed attacks on its soil. They have yet to provide evidence that the Federation has committed even one single attack, and instead cling to their baseless claims. They have once again reiterated the statement that the terrorist website was coded in interlingua. Even taking a look at the archived website will prove this statement false. The Magellan’s have also demanded that the FSR declassify more information, a half hearted political move. As a ‘response’, the Magellan’s have provided more space for foreign military bases. General Felipe Dias, who is in charge of the missile command and has access to Federation reconisdance data, has stated during a question session at a press conference on the testing of new helicopters that: ”It is my belief that we can’t sit by and wait for them to bomb us, we must do something.”

Extended Relations Accords in the Americas

The DEU has today concluded the ratification of 'Extended Relations Accords' with the North American Federation and the Magellan Republic in a series of major European initiatives that for the first time cover other continents outside of the organisation's periphery. The most significant of the agreements, described by Sixth Republic negotiators as "potentially a bigger agreement for Europe than the Marshall Plan or the DEU EIM", is the Trans-Atlantic ERA which will completely remove all tariffs on imports and exports between the DEU EIM and NAF unless specified under contingency conditions placed within the accord itself. The opening of consumer markets in North America will also be a huge encouragement to European investors. In the case of the ERA with Magella meanwhile, raw and refined materials as well as chemical products may now access the DEU EIM without facing the common external tariff in exchange for European machinery, motor vehicles, and plastic products now being able to enter their market tariff-free. This will especially serve as a boost for the DEU economies as they may now tap into resources needed to grow industry as well as have another market within which they can sell their goods.

French and Iberians meet in Andorra

Delegations from the French Confederation and Iberian Order met in the Andorran town of Encamp to discuss matters of shared interest, and also negotiate a bilateral agreement.

I. The Iberian Order and French Confederation agree to a complete demilitarized border along their European territories, Andorra, and Algeria/Iberian North Africa.
2. French Confederation vessels (civilian and military) may make use of the Strait of Gibraltar without hindrance from Iberia if they are notified beforehand.

Six Billion Dollar Arms Deal With Bulgaria

The Swordfish Class Missile Boat

Today, Bulgaria signed a multibillion dollar weapons deal with the FSR. The deal went smoothly as the Bulgarian goverment has agreed to the initial offering. As part of the deal, the FSR will sell forty Swordfish Class Missile Boats in exchange for six billion USD.

The Swordfish Class is part of the FSR's initiative to develop an effective missile-armed attack craft. The ship can operate in coastal and littoral areas with ease and can travel at speeds over 36 knots. However, the ships also have a catamaran hull which allows for improved capabilities in high sea conditions as compared to other fast attack craft. In addition, the Swordfish was built with stealth features in mind, featuring a polygonal-designed superstructure with its stealthy gun mount. The ship also has advanced datalink capability, which allows it to effectively coordinate with other assets in combat. Reportedly, the ship has some anti-air capabilities, but details regarding the ship remain speculative for the most part.

As part of the deal, the ships that Bulgaria will be receiving will all by newly constructed. The FSR has assured Bulgaria that the all the ships would arrive within three years or less. "Our shipyards will be quite lively for a while" an observer noted. The arms deal will also lead to Bulgaria navy to secure a better position for itself, as analysists have noted that a large number of these ships could potentially overwhelm an enemy fleet, including perhaps a carrier battle group.

This Morning the Japanese Economy was officially classified as entering a recession as the nation's mines begin to close across the Ryukyu Economic Zone and manufactures begin mass layoff to integrate new robotic workers into their production lines. Unemployment, which was at 2.7% over the last few years, has risen to an unprecedented 4.1% in the last few weeks. This is a combination of layoff and automation as companies are struggling financially without access to the global market. The Japanese Government has accelerated the New Japan Act to create new working jobs but the major companies of the nation such as Pentaocean and JMU are declining. ASD is one of the few companies still doing well thanks to their connections to Project Lancer, but they are an exception. How long until Japan enters a full recession is unknown, but the nation is feeling the weight of the choices of the Emperor.

With unemployment on the rise, many are trying to get the necessary 1,000 hours of aid work to apply for membership to JDOC. The 20,000 applicants jumped to 300,000 almost overnight as people who were replaced and laid off are looking to have food and housing for their families. This rush caught JDOC off guard and currently they are putting their volunteers to work building new housing units for the surge in applicants. JDOC has also been stockpiling food and acquiring several farms in Northern Japan for a steady supply of rice. The organization is asking for more manpower from the government, though it is unknown if the Diet will send anyone with their resources already starting to drain. Until that decision is made, JDOC has been establishing food and water distribution centers to any who are unemployed and are preparing to set up temporary housing units outside Tokyo.

The roars of bulldozer engines began to rumble across Japan as the nation begins its largest earth-moving project. Fifteen different sites began to be cleared today by a crew of over 10,000 workers recently employed from layoffs across the country. The first major sites being built are the new Fabricator Factories and Research Facilities with a thorium reactor site also being cleared. Offshore the first pylons of three underwater wind farms have been driven into the seabed, marking the start of the offshore project. Closer to the shoreline the first segments of the new algae farms are being transported by boat for instillation off the coast of Tokyo. All of these projects are sending people to work across Japan, but so far the job openings are not keeping up with the demand.

The SA-100 Tenodera Air Defense System

While traditionally neither the NAF or FSR were seen as being on the cutting edge of ground-based anti-aircraft weaponry, a role which has for the most part been left to the Soviets, the SA-100 was designed as an attempt to change that. The designers of the SA-100 were tasked with making a weapon that could counter the aerial-based weaponry the NAF and FSR will field in the future, which itself is meant to counter the rise of aerial denial weaponry. With that in mind, the SA-100 was heavily refined over the course of its development, and reportedly "tested against next-generation weaponry."

As a result of being inspired by the S-400, the SA-100 is the world's first operation multi-stage air defense system. A range of up to 480 kilometer can be reached for air defense. And reportedly the system was designed with hypersonic enemies in mind. [OOC: It has a range of up to 650 kilometers for anti-ballistic missiles.The aerial defense system can simultaneously track and engage up to ten ballistic targets going up to 7 kilometers per second. The SA-100 also can destroy hypersonic cruise missiles and aircraft going at speeds over Mach 6. Other possible targets include UAVs, targets at low-orbit and space weapons launched from platforms such as hypersonic orbital platforms.]

Another innovation of the SA-100 is that one launcher per battalion has access to a railgun. The railgun is accurate enough to hit a target from 100 kilometers away and can fire ten times a minute. With its cheaper costs than conventional missiles, such a weapon can serve for medium range saturation air defense. The air defense system was also built to detect the next generation stealth technology, including aircraft which attempt to reduce visibility by getting rid of their vertical stabilizer. Not much information regarding how this is done has been released yet, but reportedly the SA-100 uses a myriad of advanced sensors that are resistant to electronic attacks and are capable of hyperconnectivity, as part of the NAF's and FSR's plan to revamp their military to be a "system of systems." The SA-100 can be rapidly redeployed by ship or air and is also highly mobile, as part of the plan to make enemy aircraft have to try to solve a new "maze" every time they enter airspace protected by the SA-100. In addition, the SA-100 supposedly has defenses systems against features that will appear in the next generation of aircraft, though what those could be wasn't said publically as of yet.

As of today, the nations of Australia, Italy and France had recently allowed our news organization to open up in their nations, our new Head Quarters setting themselves up in Bordeaux, Milan, and Munich. The HDI and Australia haven't decided on an HQ in Australia as of yet, but will be discussing that relatively soon. A further propping up in Germany, Austro-Danube, and Magella was proposed as well, however are still being negotiated. This will allow us to bring news from foreign countries to Canada, and back, thus giving meaning to our news organization's name. Before then, our news sources only existed in a variety of countries spanning from North America to Central America and the Caribbean prior to the unification of the NAF.

20th Anniversary of the end of the Canadian-American War!

Today is the 20th anniversary of the Canadian-American War; the longest conflict to take place in the North American Continent.

Exactly 20 years from today is the day that the armistice was signed between Canada and the Union State of America. After a decade of war, 1.79-2.38 million dead, and some of the most brutal fighting since World War 2, the Union State had finally reached its breaking point, calling for an armistice, ending the war in Canadian Victory. Many Northern US territories were placed under the control of Canada, the Union State had to temporarily demilitarize until 2010, and miles of demilitarization zones were propped up along the Canadian-American border. Later that year, Overbeck would relinquish his position as President for Life and hold elections, of which, the people kept him in power for the successes he brought them and his open willingness to embrace Democracy. The legacy that the war would leave behind would be one guaranteeing the Union State would never be capable of threatening the independence of the states to the West, never be a threat to Canada, and would allow Canada to rise as a global Super Power, as the war allowed for an economic boom, a growth in military strength, and a desire to assert itself as the sole successor to the United States' Legacy. It would lead them to later fight thew Iberians as they stepped into the Americas; invading Puerto Rico, prompting them to initiate the Canadian-Iberian War. It would lead them to their intervention in Danube, in Algeria, and in China.

Today tens of thousands of Canadians gathered in the streets; holding festivals, marches and celebrated today as their Victory Day. The Canadian National Armed-Forces held several military parades in major cities throughout the HDUC. Families and neighbors watched movies and held barbecues together to celebrate this day, and Fireworks were fired off throughout the nation from 5 PM - 2 AM. Hyper Democratic Party MP Alexander Overbeck, son of the former President Jordan Overbeck held a speech today in Ottawa, commending the soldiers who had fought in the war, and remembering the ones that had died. Alexander had stated in the speech,

"As controversial as many of the actions of the war was, you cannot argue that it wasn't a just war. The Union State wasn't going to stop at Michigan, New England, or the Confederacy, and the Union State was a ticking time bomb, soon to collapse in on itself in the near future. By invading the Union, we prevented a catastrophe drastically worse than what they were faced with. People will argue that our war was unjust, but if we didn't wage war, those same people would argue that Canada was unjust to refuse intervention."

Unsurprisingly, the "Every Man A Rifle" Reform has passed Canada's Parliament, and is already taking effect. The Canadian Council of Economics & Technocracy has called the local Canadian Governments together with technological-based organizations, labor unions, and firearm businesses in Canada to discuss an economic plan to mass produce firearms, meanwhile the government representatives have promised to create more institutions regarding firearm usage, tactics, and safety and legal usage. This is expected to drastically help Firearm industries, and is believed to rapidl;y reduce crime, and is believed to make the already invincible colossal that is Canada, all that more impossible to invade. With several health and food reforms taking place in the nation, this is also likely to help grow the serviceable manpower of the nation drastically as well.

Military Exercises held in Hudson Bay!

Today, naval & air forces of France, Austria-Danube, North America, France, Britain, Italy, and National Forces across the NAF (ie Canada, Pacifica, United States, Mexico, Central America, etc.) had arrived in Hudson Bay to hold military exercises, however there's one thing that the Canadian National Armed-Forces had particularly wanted to display in these exercises, and that was their Sub-Craft fleet.

As promised, the Canadian forces demonstrated the might of their new Sub-craft based fleets; particularly the CNS-Davis Sub-Carrier, which, recently, due to its fast speed but limited carrying capabilities, was classified as a Light Sub-Carrier. They had also demonstrated and shown their variant of the MLTS (Multi-Launch Torpedo System,) which is essentially their spin off of Japan's RTS, though it was able to strike faster, with greater accuracy, and with greater range thanks to its water-tight/water-protected electromagnetic propulsion, didn't have the quick rate of fire capabilities that the Japanese variant had. The original variants could fire 5 seconds in between being launched; the Canadian variant takes roughly 6 seconds to drain then be ready to fire again. Given its usage of electromagnetic propulsion, it's been nicknamed 'The Underwater Railgun.' They also had, as promised, unveiled their own Sub-Cruiser with specifications. Firstly, it's worth noting that it's the same Sub-Cruiser, but with multiple variants. There' a light variant named the CNS-Thunder Bay, a heavy variant named the CNS-Cascades, and an experimental variant which is yet to be declassified but is believed to be a battlecruiser variant, and all utilize thorium as their source of fuel. The light variant moves at roughly 40 Knots while cruising, and 52 Knots at top speed, has a displacement of 7,000 Tonnes and can carry roughly 5 subcraft, while the heavy variant moves at 32 Knots while cruising, and 37 at top speed, has a displacement of 29,000 Tonnes and can carry 11 subcraft. They're armed with Canadian MLTS models, but also introduces another weapon introduced by the Canadians in their subcraft fleet; The Automatic Torpedo System (ATS) which is a multi-barrel weapon meant to fire multiple torpedoes at once much more rapidly than the MTLS.

The Multi-Torpedo System is a multi-barrel weapon, usually comprising of 3-6 tubes meant to unload as many torpedoes into enemy as possible in hopes the enemy Subcraft or surface ship can't destroy all at once, or at best, do as much damage as possible. You may fall under the assumption that this is no different from the MTLS, given that it's multiple tubes firing very rapidly, however this concept is very different. While the MTLS fires its torpedoes out much like a revolver, the ATS has two different models; the ATS Type 1, which fires all the barrels at the same time, and the ATS Type 2, which fires multiple torpedoes out of one barrel. The former is quicker to reload, however cannot enjoy the comfort of electromagnetic propulsion, at least not yet; some experimental prototypes are being made with electromagnetic capabilities, however current designs are too unpredictable as of right now to be utilized on the field, and even the ATST-1 is unpredictable in the sense that, if it jams, it will be difficult to unjam. The ATS Type 2, however, just like its cousin, cannot enjoy electromagnetic propulsion capabilities either, at least not yet, though it's seeing greater plausibility of doing so to some extent. As long as the water-tight protection its given goes undamaged, however takes even longer to drain, reload, and has a long barrel making it more difficult to maintain, but not impossible to maintain, but its main problem with the addition of electromagnetic propulsion is its weight. Overall, the ATS system has a series of pros and cons to them, however the Canadian Technological institutions promise to find a way to peak their effectiveness by whatever means necessary.

Aside from their Sub-Carriers and Sub-Cruisers, the Canadians had also introduced their own Sub-Interceptors and Sub-Superiority Fighters. The Sub-Superiority Fighter, named CW-M1, is a small, versatile Subcraft with roughly 4 Internally mounted torpedoes designed to be medium ranged, and 2 externally mounted torpedoes meant to be of much longer range, at least to Sub-Fighter Standards, along with having 2 6mm gatling guns, and can move as fast as 72 Knots. This was Canada's first Sub-Fighter, and it wasn't the usual interceptor; instead this craft was made to be much more counter-offensive than purely defensive or offensive, being designed to kill enemy interceptors. The CW-M1A1 is the Interceptor variant of the M1, and has only 2 mid-range internally mounted torpedoes, but 4 externally mounted torpedoes in turn, giving it a much greater manuverability given how restricting internal torpedoes are, giving it a top speed of up to 74 Knots, and with it, 2 6mm Gatlings. All of these weapons have some sense of cavitation to them, allowing them to actually travel underwater, but of course like all new technology, it's not perfect. There's also the CW-M1A3, which is dubbed as a 'Heavy Interceptor,' carrying 8 Internal Mid-Range Torpedoes, and 2 external of longer range, and a single 6mm Gatling It's designed to be slow-moving at roughly 60 Knots, but generally maintain distance and superior firepower against other sub-fighters. Its cousin, the CW-M1A4, however, is a Heavy Superiority, carrying 7 Internal Torpedoes, and 3 External, and moves slightly faster than the Heavy Interceptor, reaching 62 Knots. Overall, the Heavy Superiority and Heavy Interceptor are, for the most part, experimental. Some distinct features seen in these Sub-Fighters consists of an active protection system; guarded by interceptor torpedoes designed to shoot down torpedoes aimed at their individual sub-fighters, AI assistance to help with aiming, tracking enemies, and the sort, and their own radar. Currently these things are helping slow down the Sub-Fighter, but as Canadian Waves begins to focus fire on building Canada's Sub-Craft Fleet, it's believed that soon this will be a non-issue. There were a series of other problems with some of the Sub-Craft, particularly the Sub-Fighters, but they're mostly minor issues that are expected to be fixed up by the next batches.

They had further revealed that the Canadian Forces have access to CLNK technology given to them by Japan in a trade deal.

The Canadian National Naval Forces claim to currently have roughly 5 Light Sub-Carriers, 7 Light Sub-Cruisers, 3 Heavy Sub-Cruisers, but are currently constructing more sub-crafts like these, and a couple more subcraft models that are being planned out. The majority of their Sub Naval Forces will remain located in the Pacific for the sake of power balance, however. They haven't stated how many Sub-Fighters they've produced thus far, only that they've produced "Many." Either way, this is without a doubt only the beginning of Canada's own underwater naval expansion.

2020 Constitutional Referendum results in

Approximately four hours after polling booths closed across the nation, the Puertollanoan Electoral Commission had concluded the counting of the national vote for the constitutional referendum. This has been a piece that President Castillo has been advocating for since his inception into the role of the President of the Bolivarian Republic. Unsurprisingly, Castillo's enthusiasm stirred social conscience and increased activism of the part of the 'Yes' campaign, or the 'Si' campaign. For the people of Puertollano to vote in favour of the new constitution, dubbed the 'people's constitution', it would inscribe the message of egalitarianism, justice and equality that Castillo has fervently advocated for into the national constitution. The result is as followed:

The National Conservative Round-Table Party, who were fervently in the 'No' campaign against Castillo's national desires are in the stages of tearing themselves apart. The far more socially conservative and right-wing of the party are calling for a boycott of the upcoming Presidential Election in response to the recent Constitutional Referendum. "We're on an unfair playing field," one prominent conservative leader said. "Castillo is hijacking the independence that should be in the constitution, but he's turned it into a political play-thing. He knows we rely on the honest contributions of small and large companies to represent the job-makers of this nation; it is an obvious attack to destroy his opposition in the upcoming election." While on the other hand, the moderate wing of the NCRTP is calling for a relaxation. "It's our duty to acknowledge the result of the votes," said National Secretary of the NCRTP. "Just because we've lost this vote doesn't mean we give up on democracy. That would be ill of us to do so." Despite these warnings from their own Secretary, a high-level Conservative politician, Alejandro Piena has applied for political asylum in the North American Federation. It is still unknown whether it was accepted or not.

Milan announces urban expansion plan after growth of Rome and Nuovo Milano as financial and industrial competitors

The region of Lombardy, of which Milan is the capital, was once the economic centre of Italy, accounting for 1/5th of the Italian economy and being home to all of Italy's major companies. However, with the completion of the Economic Dispersion Plan in 2017 with the successful conclusion of the Southern Development Fund and the growth of Nuovo Milano outside of mainland Italy, Milan's economic dominance over Italy has been greatly reduced over the past years, with Rome's new business city rising up and Nuovo Milano's unprecedented population growth, Milan has become somewhat of a relic of the past when those in the South of Italy were seen as poor, lazy and overrun by the mafia and those in the north were seen as rich but emotionless and cold.

In a bid to compete with Rome and Nuovo Milano, Milan's city government have announced the Milan Urban Expansion, the largest single project to ever be undertaken by Milan. The project will see dozens of Milan's suburban neighbourhoods within the metropolitan area around the edge of the city itself be completely gentrified and rebuilt, with new straight road layouts to efficiently build out the city. These new neighbourhoods will have the density and atmosphere of the central city, becoming part of the already urbanised centre. These new areas of city will expand the city population from just over 2 million to over 5 million, while the population of the greater metropolitan area will surpass 10 million.

The new parts of the city will consist mostly of medium-rise residential housing along with new shopping centres and thousands of office spaces scattered throughout the new area to house start-ups, small businesses and larger businesses. The vision for Milan is to become new start-up hub of Italy in order for the city to remain relevant as big businesses move to Rome and Nuovo Milano. The new neighbourhoods will be trendy and designed specifically with younger people in mind, with cafe's, bars and nightclubs to allow a great work-life balance. With several hundred acres of land within the new neighbourhoods being designated for parkland the area will also be great for young families to bring up their children.

The downsides of greatly expanding Milan is that many small towns and villages across Italy are seeing their populations dramatically fall, as young people tend to move straight to Rome, Milan, Turin, Naples or Nuovo Milano as soon as they leave home or graduate from University, with some towns even paying people to live and work in them, the future of towns and villages in Italy looks dire. But with a booming birthrate after the passing of the Family Aid Initiative not all hope has been lost, as the rapidly increasing population means that some young people will be bound to stay in their towns and villages to keep them running.

Without investments from the rest of the world, major companies across Japan are starting to feel the pressures of isolation and are continuing layoffs across the nation. However, this has also been extended to foreclosure on buildings as well. JMU and Mitsubishi have closed ten factories in the last two weeks due to defaulting on payments and no longer being able to operate a large number of factories under present economic conditions. Small business are being devastated as food markets are running low on food, consumer goods stores have empty shelves, and entertainment establishments are closing their doors. With many buildings now being sold on the housing market, prices have plummeted and the market is in a state of crisis between company moves and average citizens putting their homes up for sale. The 4.1% unemployment two weeks ago shot up to 5.6%, unheard of in economics. JDOC continues to be flooded with applications and volunteers hoping for government paid food and housing. Should this rate of decline continue this Rescission could very quickly become a depression.

Large demonstrations across Japan have been occurring in major cities as people are making their voices heard. The demonstrations are asking for the opening of borders throughout the Empire and putting an end to this imposed isolation by the Emperor. The Demonstrators are having the most impact in Tokyo where thousands have taken to the street in peaceful protest, sitting in front of the Imperial Palace. Police units have been deployed to prevent any violence from occurring, but many of them are just as disgruntled as the protestors. As if an economic crisis was not enough, Farmers have begun to refuse to sell their crops to the government or JDOC, particularly in Rural Northern Japan. With winter approaching and food becoming a commodity in the nation, the farmers do not want to give their food to a government that they view as the cause of the current economic crisis. Many farmers have banned together in co-ops to strengthen their voices. The government is unsure of how to handle this situation but it appears the military has made up its mind as the 6th Division was activated and is preparing to intervene in this issue as food is a critical resource in Japan where the demand is far above the production levels. PNN wants to make it public knowledge that the group is selling food to both the general public and JDOC volunteers using their own money to buy the food and not government funds.

A New Provincial Administration

---

Ever since the Latinisation process, or Latinophilia, the native Greek culture of the Fregantese State has been under the influence of Western European cultures, mainly French and German cultures respectively. With the fomation of the URT, new cultural influences, whose origins are the ADE and Italy, have started to show themselves. As of now, the historains and the sociologists of the Fregantes Empire have reached a unanimous conclusion: The Fregantese State is no longer culturally homogenous. According to the recent studies, the Greek culture, which differs from region to region to begin with, was subjected to different types of influences with varying degrees. As such, new cultures and regional identities emerged, and the cultural unity of the country slowly eroded away. Fortunately, this poses no threat to the contiuned existence of the Fregantese State, as the general population of the country seems to bein favour of a united state, rather than a splitting of the country.


However, one question remains: How did this phenomenon came to be? How can a culture change and start to vary region to region in such a small amount of time, and in the 21st century? Although none can give a complete answer, the sociologists have named a specific event, which might be the root cause of the phenomenon: the Greco-Turkish war of 2016. The war was a disaster created by the nationalist government of the time. Nearly the entirety of Greece was occupied, and it would take a new government to sign a decent peace agreement. The war rendered the population hostile to nationalism, and this can be interpreted as an amplified version of the decline of German nationalism after the II World War. With the Greek national identity in pieces, and with the introduction of the Latin Alphabet to the language, the culture became heavily influenced, and offered nearly no resistance. Change happened differently in every region, resulting in different local culture.

The last overhaul in the porvincial system, and the introduction of the "Grand City" title, were mesures to adapt the bureaucracy to this cultural change. Five cities (Athens, Sparta, Larissa, Persiteri and Kallithea) were given the Grand City title, and as the local cultures continued to develop, the number rose accordingly. Unfortunately, giving certain cities some autonomy showed itself to be insufficient and throughout the government, there has been talks of a new provincial administration system. The new sytem fuses the governance of the Ancient Greek City States and the regional states of the Latinokratia period. The Empire is splitted into 12 regions, and these regions are further divided into units called "civitas" ("city" or "settlement" in Latin).


Every region has a regional assembly, made up of representatives of each civitas. The regioal assembly elects a regional "Kuvernitis", governor, and the Kuvernitis adminsters the region while sharing power wtih an "Exarch" appointed from Athens. Every civitas too, has an assembly, called "Civil Assembly" and it elects a mayor, "Dimarch". the Dimarch serves for two years and administers its Civitas while also sharing power with an "Axiomatikos", officer, appointed from Athens. There are also special administrations, which are governed only by Exarchs and Axiomatikos'.

The region of Attica is home to the national capital, Athens. the regional culture is called "High Athenian" and it is heavily influenced by the French culture. French and Latin-Greek widely spoken. Contrary to the Greco-Frech culture, there is also a significant influence of the Polish culture and other cultures of Calindelo, as many refugees came and settled in Athens during the Calin Civil War.

II: Boeotia
Boeotia is an important region for the Fregantes Empire, as it is the Silicon Valley of the nation. Many high-tech and Information technologies companies have their centres and production sites in Boeotia, and the regional capital, Thebes, hosts the Fregantese Computing and IT Institute, which maintains the high-tech infrastructure of the country. The regional culture, "the Boeotian culture" is inspired by the German culture,
and the regional architecture is an imitation of the Bavarian and Berliner architectures.

The Morean Peninsula was occupied by the French during the Greco-Turkish war. As such, the foreign influence has been a controversial issue in the region for a long time. Those who stayed, accepted the foreign influences, and created a regional culture, which is considered "weird" by the rest of the country. Its culture is essentially influenced by the Spanish culture, but nowadays the main source of influence is the Italian and Occitan cultures. In addition, the Art Nouveau arhcitecture has become the general norm for the architects in the region, which made the region have colourful buildings, and cities look like "little magic-kingdoms".

FSR and China sign arms deal worth 21 billion dollars

SA-100 Air Defense System

Today, a new chapter was signed between China-FSR cooperation. With the contracts finalized, both countries have agreed to sell each other equiptment, which in total is worth 21.4 billion NAD.

Part of the deal related China ordering three SA-100s regiments from the FSR worth 16.2 billion NAD. The Chinese military had expressed their interest in acquiring the SA-100, and reportedly they'll be testing out the aerial defense system's capabilities. China will likely use their new SA-100s to protect their major industrial hubs with them having purchased 27 battalions consisting in total of 216 launchers. Another separate deal was signed for replacement parts and possible maintenance for the SA-100 systems.

On the other hand, China will be selling the FSR an aircraft carrier for 5.2 billion NAD. The aircraft carrier originally was ordered by the Magellan Navy. However, they ended up canceling their request before the carrier finished construction. With the carrier left partially built the FSR Navy eventually took interest into it. Some modifications ended up being made to the original design plan to account for the needs of the FSR Navy, namely that the carrier will now use a nuclear reactor rather than a steam turbine. The carrier will also be the FSR's first carrier to have an anti-torpedo torpedo system built in, as opposed to it be added in through upgrades. USSR and NAF agree to Revolutionary Trade Deal

After many months (ICly) of discussion among the representatives of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and those of the North American Federation have come to an revolutionary trade deal in the field of Sustainable Industry. Upon their agreement within the city of Toronto, the two powers have agreed to sign the Toronto Green Agreement (TGA):

Akram and Abdullah clash in the most heated exchange of words yet

Today, the High Leader himself revealed the results of the investigation of the thermobaric bomb of Zackarothian origin that ended up in the hands of terrorists within the ICN. This bomb was discovered by the NSRA and FSR troops before it could be used. Zackaroth was accused of supplying the ICN with the weapon, something it has vehemently denied.

The investigation revealed that during the first Nigerian Civil War, Zackaroth indeed did sell older model Thermobaric weapons..but it was to the then legitmate government of Nigeria. Around 3 or 4 bombs where sold. This means the bomb that went off in Onitsha was also a Zackarothian made weapon as well. This sale was legal however as Thermobaric bombs are not classified as WMDs under Zackarothian law and free to be sold to other nations. High Leader Akram however still slammed Abdullah's choice to give the former Nigerian government weapons of such destructive potential when it nearly toppled over. He also criticized Abdullah for not saying at all during the second civil war, knowing that any of the three factions could have come upon them.

The latest European lie: Puertollanoan soldiers sexual assault claims

Let's take you to our reporter in Grande Anse, in the Federation of Nativist Islands. Please explain this recent and bizarre claim about Puertollanoan soldiers on the island?

Well, new in the list of fabrications against the Bolivarian Republic and South America is that a Puertollanoan soldier was responsible for the rape of a woman's son and daughter on the Federation of Nativist Islands. These allegations would be damning if true, but alas, no evidence has been given to substantiate this absurd allegation.

So what evidence supports that this did not occur?

Easy; where are the reports? Surely, if this did occur, the parent of these children would file a law suit against the National Bolivarian Armed Forces of Puertollano. However, non such exists. There are no witness reports, there is no hard evidence. The children have been assessed for these supposed injuries, but the results do not return in the favour of the Italian Government. That means that there was no DNA, no CCTV footage and no specific soldier/s have been found who were supposed to have committed the crime. Again, another slander against South America using baseless evidence and fear-mongering.

What has an internal military investigation found?

When the allegations emerged from the Italian media, the National Bolivarian Armed Forces obviously conducted an internal review and investigation into these alleged crimes. In their statement, the Armed Forces said: 'no evidence supports the theory that Puertollanoan soldiers have sexually assaulted children.' There you have it, no official complaint. We don't even know the identities of these claiming to be the victims of the assault. The Italian Government needs to have some respect and decency, to not create fabricated propaganda in an effort to re-assert their colonisation of the Federation. Such allegations levied against Puertollano are not to be used as a political mud-sling. People need to understand that this is a serious topic and it only de-legitimatises the impact it has had on actual victims. Appalling.

Why has this been brought up again recently?

The ex-High Leader of Zackaroth, Abdullah, has brought it up to use as a political football. He repeated these claims during a rally of his, attempting to attack the current incumbent High Leader. TeleSUR condemns all fake news and it especially does not appreciate it when foreign election candidates use unfounded allegations to attack the reputation of other governments. Abdullah hasn't given an apology yet, but we're unsure whether he will give an apology to the real victims of sexual assault in the world who are being de-legitimised by the Italian Government.

This obviously isn't the first European fabrication in South America, is it?

No it isn't. That's what makes this entire incident less believable. Recently, the leader of Magella was caught lying about her supposed facts about the alleged FSR bombings. Other networks, TeleSUR including, comprehensibly debunked these lies spread by the European media. This is another attempt to alienate the people of South America, the people of the Federation and to influence democratic elections. Why else would the Italian Government portray Puertollano as an evil entity while a democratic referendum is to occur soon to decide on their independence? We live in sad times.

Anger amongst the public at how the current government has dealt with the Il Desiderio situation and slowing economic growth has all been put on Mariastella Gelmini's shoulders, but with a loyal fanbase and being a feminist icon in the country, Gelmini certainly has her supporters as well as her enemies. Forza Italia's manifesto has laid out plans to boost the economy through further infrastructure spending to 'Advance Italia!™" and through spending on incentives for start-ups and tax breaks for existing companies. Forza Italia also outlines plans to further increase military spending to encourage patriotism, greater protect the country as well as give business to Italian defence companies to keep people in their jobs and boost the economy.

In its election manifesto the party has called for the round-up and detention of all Romani peoples in Italy, distancing Italy from the DEU, Deporting all Puertollanoan's from Italy and the re-establishment of the Italian Biological and Chemical Weapons Research Program (IBCWR) which was shut down after it was discovered that the program had secretly dropped anthrax weapons on the people of Nigeria. The party and Matteo Salvini have been under heavy criticism from all political parties and many in the general public for their extreme views, but it is thought that the party could have a large amount of 'closet supporters'.

Finally, Movimento 5 Stelle (M5S). The party is now lead by the young and popular Luigi di Maio after many leadership changes during the great decline of the party over the past years, however the party has had a fresh start and appears to be gaining popularity again, rapidly catching up to La Lega in the opinion polls with some predictions that it could gain the 3rd most seats instead of La Lega, however this claim is very disputed and wont be known until the final elections results are announced in several months. M5S's manifesto calls for a major increase in spending and borrowing to get welfare spending and healthcare spending over the NAF$100 billion mark while increasing education to NAF$150 billion from its current ~NAF$140 billion meanwhile the Ministry of Defence will have spending cut from ~NAF$140 billion to ~NAF$80 billion and spending in remaining unmentioned sectors will be frozen. M5S have been heavily criticised for wanting to increasing spending so much as many say it would "cripple the country with debt", many also say that decreasing defence spending so radically would lead to the loss of thousands of jobs.

The small town of Obihiro in Japan's northernmost island of Hokkaido, home to a large farming community, was placed under military occupation following the refusal of local farmers to hand over their supplies of food to the government. The 6th Division rolled in with armored vehicles and over 10,000 troops all over the Hokkaido early yesterday to force farmers to hand over their supply of food. While many farmers did give up willingly other did not and several farmers were detained. Obihiro residents took this to the next level by blocking off the roadways with their own vehicles and preventing Japanese Military personnel from entering the town. 205 residents faced off against over 500 military personnel in a 5 hour standoff. To the horror and shock of the town and to the nation the military troops opened fire on the blockade, killing 23 and wounding 38. After this show of brute force the townspeople related and gave the military access to the town, but the incident has sparked outrage across Japan.

In major cities like Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagasaki there have been mass protests against the harsh actions of the military and many are demanding to know who ordered the men to open fire on the civilians. Neither the Emperor or the government have commented on this, stoking further unrest across Japan. This unrest, already present from mass unemployment, low food availability, and the economic downturn has created a very unstable situation across Japan. This most recent action has even caused local government officials, military leaders, and company executives to question the government's current motives and why they seem to be stoking the flames of a potential crisis.

BREAKING: Revolution of "Party and the People" topples President

President of the Sixth Republic and French Confederation Marcel Dutoit was today toppled from his position as head of state and figurehead of the Republic Party. Political demonstrations have been ongoing intermittently for months as a result of his personal decision to escalate the war in Nigeria, and following the bombing of Abuja his presidency became untenable. In the end, it took four million citizens taking to the streets of Paris, Algiers, Saigon, Hanoi, and Vientiane in a coordinated move to force the removal of the President of the Confederation. The rallies outside of France were sourced from anger that troops from Indochina, Europe, and Algeria were all deployed (or have at some stage been deployed) in Nigeria. Ironically, in Cambodia he retained support due to his development program bringing about rapid improvement in living standards due to be completed next year in 2021.

While the Republic party voted to removed Dutoit, it has yet to finalized their new candidate for the presidency. Prime Minister Lamar, returning from the Saigon Summit, will be extended authority temporarily to act as head of state and government as per the constitutional process until new elections can be held and is speculated to be a possible contender. Meanwhile, renowned Confederation diplomat Charles Dupont has resigned as Speaker of the CSN, and returned to Paris from Iceland in an attempt to claim the party candidacy himself. The CSN Speaker had publicly denounced Dutoit's actions as being contrary to the CSN's values and principles of the Republic itself; he is viewed as a solid liberal candidate who can distance himself from the government's Nigerian disaster and has been the driver of positive DEU and CSN reform where possible despite some foreign and domestic opposition.

Conservatives call for Constitutional Convention

Philippe Noir, leader of the Conservative Party and their coalition partners in opposition, has demanded a Constitutional Convention be held immediately in response to what he called "complete and careless misuse of power by the governing and military elite." In a statement the Party outlined a reform platform which was comprehensive and broad reaching. It would include economic nationalizing of vital industries, limits on migration, an end to foreign aid, new limits on the armed forces and President, and criminal proceedings against the former President, members of the defense ministry, and many of those deployed in Nigeria. The media and public has had a mixed response to what is being called unfavorably the 'Noir Manifesto'; while many believe that a Constitutional Convention is the best way forward as a nation to recover after the nightmare of Nigeria, many fear that the Conservatives seek to purge elements of the army, navy, and air force who were innocent of any wrongdoing as well as taint the entire governing coalition with the wrongdoings of Dutoit. At the same time, it could open the door to startling conservative reforms on social issues - this is still opposed by the majority of the population who had only lent their current support to Noir in order to bring down Dutoit. For now however, nothing can be done until the Republicans appoint a new Presidential candidate and they decide whether to endorse such a Convention.

BEIJING - Several trade deals between China and Australia have been put into effect. One such deal , one of the biggest ones ever made by Australian companies, worth more than $25.5B, "The Two River Project", will overlook the development of the Chinese interior towns and cities , specifically between the Yangtze and Huang He , in the fields of agriculture, water treatment facility, biotech power plants as well as the opening of new 'trade centers'. These trade centers will be established in present Chinese cities in order to attract most of the interior population to stay in their respective provinces. These setup was envisioned after research studies showed that most residents of the country's poorer regions in the interior were mass migrating into already overcrowded coastal cities in the south and east.

Of the $25,5B investment deal, more than 80% came from AusGroup corporations. Many AusGroup corporations are slowly transitioning their Chinese assets from manufacturing sites of consumer goods, raw materials and human capital into a more innovative program that envisions to enhance Information Technology capabilities. Helios II and Argus, two tech giants of AusGroup have significantly boosted their status in China with the opening of new 'smart-stores' that highlights a combination of shopping, dining, business and technological advancements into a convenience store.

Russian warship to be salvaged

VARNA - A century old Russian warship, the Grom, has finally been studied, assessed and surveyed by teams of experts. The study shows that the old warship was sunk by Ottoman forces during the last days of the Russian revolution, with the ship supposedly heading towards the Mediterranean, possibly to link up with British naval forces in Crete.

What has been more intriguing is that the ship supposedly carried Romanov gold bullion, as payment to arms and weapons bought by the Tsar for loyalist forces. Records showed that no delivery of the payment was received and that the Grom was sunk during this time. Video footage from the ship has also shown glints of metal. Although studies are still ongoing in order to find the real total value of gold transported, it is estimated to be between carrying 500 tons of gold.

Reports have been coming that a Bulgarian salvage team has been hired in order to get the wreck to the surface for a more clear view.

CANBERRA -All is not well for Malcom Turnbull after survey polls showed that his net satisfaction ratings have got a significant drop. From 47%, only 22% of respondents stated that they are ok with the policies made by the Turnbull administration. His most recent campaign to institute embargoes on the Federation of Socialist Republics have reportedly lost his camp more than 2/3 of their campaigning funds and trust ratings on the PM have reached an all time low of just 14%.
With elections drawing near this 2021, many are speculating whether or not Malcolm Turnbull still has one last trump card to get re-elected.

HOBART - The Australian Military has informed the public in a press conference last May 28th that it is closely monitoring the situation in Japan. The military also reported that all naval assets just outside of the 'Neutral Zone' have been put into high alert and that the navy is positioning its destroyers, submarines, Saildrones, and air assets to enclose Japan. In other words, the Navy is imposing to "block the outside world from Japan". "This is to prevent the ongoing conflict from spilling over to other countries such as China and Korea where refugees could in turn create factions to support their home turfs", said Navy spokesperson Neil Trudl.

In order to impose the blockade, multiple fleets of the Australian Navy were reorganized and diverted to Japan. From the Black Sea Fleet, to the Pacific Fleets, more than 50 destroyers,10 amphibious assault ships and 100 helicopters,60 subs and underwater fighters, plus carrier, and 400 of 750 Saildrones, will be part of the blockade, dubbed "Kamikaze".

The Air Force is also ready to support the Navy's blockade with air assets from Hainan and Philippine air bases.

Canberra is still silent on the matter of the different factions currently engaged in Japan.

Canadian Subcrafts begin to enter mass-production!

Canadian Waves was the only business in the Canadian ship-building industry to focus on developing sub-craft. Was. As of today, several Canadian Ship-Building Companies has got together, utilizing the Council of Economics & Technocracy to form an agreement to begin mass-producing these Sub-Crafts. Currently, Newfoundland, the island known for making up much of Canada's ship-building industry, is undergoing massive changes to help accommodate for producing sub-craft. The Canadian Ship-Building industries have even gone as far as to buy patents for producing said Subcraft, allowing for further innovations and allowing more businesses to produce such crafts legally. Thus far, the National Canadian Navy has ordered an additional 12 Light Carriers, 20 Light Cruisers and 5 Heavy Cruisers along with more Sub-Fighters.

Of course, producing existing sub-crafts is far from the only thing being done; Canadian Waves has been working on several new designs for newer Sub-Fighter models and larger Sub-Crafts. Currently they are working with several engine companies to design much more effective Thorium reactors for their Sub-Fighters that would enable them to move faster, and are working with several other Canadian ship-building Companies to design a much more versatile Sub-Fighter Design. There's believed to be another three classifications of Sub-Crafts that Canadian Waves is currently working on excluding Sub-Fighter designs.

'The British Imperial Federation and Germanic Union Treaty of Friendship and Security' signed in London!

Today Ben Müller travelled across the English Channel to meet his counter parts in London to discuss the future of Anglo-German relations. The meeting has gone very well and as such 'The British Imperial Federation and Germanic Union Treaty of Friendship and Security' was signed.

Details around this Treaty have been vague however a couple confirmed terms of the treaty are cooperation between Caribbean territories as well as a Mutual Defense Pact.

The timing is also suspicious as is happened the day after the French took Dutoit out of office on the same day, some radical conspiracy theorist have even claimed that the German government is replacing their French alliance with a British one.

Constitutional Convention convened

The major political parties of the Sixth Republic have gathered in Paris to hold a Constitutional Convention following the appointment of Charles Dupont as the Republican presidential nominee. In an excellent political maneuver, Dupont and Lamar worked to open the convention immediately, before the election for Dutoit's successor can be held. This frustrated Noir's efforts to seize power quickly as the government still commands a healthy parliamentary majority and thus dictates the fate of the convention. While the Conservatives now denounce the government for not giving the public an opportunity to vote for the new President as soon as possible, Lamar has declared that new limitations of executive authority must be imposed within a new constitution so that Dutoit's actions cannot be repeated. For the most part, public opinion seems to have accepted Lamar's reasoning and Dupont remains relatively popular as a result of his past DEU reforms. The convention is expected to last for at least a week as Conservative demands are inevitably watered down and refuted by the government's parliamentary majority. When the convention is complete, if it recommends a new constitution the draft text will be put to public referendum.
