Interim President of the FNI takes office

Interim President of the Federation of Nativist Islands, Danilo Medina, has assumed office after in-depth governmental discussions between the Federation and the Bolivarian Republic of Puertollano. President Danilo Medina has been supported by Puertollano in his recent selection for the role of interim President, and he says the position is "no where near eternal", citing an election and referendum (date yet to be announced). Medina has a strong history in the ABC Islands particularly, being a resident of Aruba and a strong anti-imperialist advocate. During Operation Anti-Colonialismo, Medina organised local unions to rally in support of the Puertollanoan action, that separated the ABC islands and Il Deserido from their previous European masters. During his live inauguration, streamed by TeleSUR, on Curacao, standing alongside President Castillo of Puertollano, Medina rejected the Italian Caribbean 'Peace' Accords. The President of the FNI repeated numerous times that the small nation will not 'bow down to the demands of the European-controlled CSN', and he has reassured democratic elections once hostility is officially concluded and all infrastructure is repaired.

New telecommunications tower opens on Pointe des Châteaux, 6 miles from Il Desiderio to restore Italian radio and television services on the island

Today the government confirmed that Pointe des Châteaux Telecommunications Tower has officially opened and is in service, providing channels from Italy's seven main television and radio companies to the island of Il Desiderio and to the wider French West Indies. The telecommunications tower, located on the coast of Guadeloupe only 6 miles from Il Desiderio, is 288.4 metres tall, weighs 3,000 tons and will broadcast the following television companies channels: Rai, Mediaset, Cairo Communications, ROMA TV, Super!, GEDI Gruppo Editoriale and 7 Gold.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport says that "Construction of the tower began after it was discovered that the Puertollanoan regime had shut down all television and radio outlets on the island and replaced it with the teleSUR propaganda machine due to a so-called "technical fault" which was a cover for the oppression of free media and freedom of choice on the island by the Puertollanoan regime". The Ministry of Infrastructure also said that "It is important that these main Italian channels are restored to the people of Il Desiderio as these are the everyday television and radio channels that they have been tuning into and are comfortable with until the illegal occupation by the imperialist Puertollanoan regime removed all variety of views except for those of the regime."

The cost of the tower will be published in the next infrastructure spending review according to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport who say that the tower has been outfitted with state-of-the-art broadcasting technologies to reduce disturbances to broadcasts due to severe weather conditions or natural events such as earthquakes. The tower has also had a robust cybersecurity system installed with help from the COC and Argus CyberSecurity's Italian branch. Along with this cyber defence, the Ministry also confirmed that undisclosed physical defences have been installed at the site due the aggressive instincts of the Puertollanoan regime and the possibility it could be sabotaged.

But primarily it focuses on mental and physical based institutions and firearm training. This is to teach people the importance of owning a gun, how to properly use it, gun safety, and to teach basic usage in various scenarios. It's also meant to give everyone mental and physical background checks to guarantee that they are mentally stable, physically in-shape, and are in top-tier fit condition to own a firearm to both help simplify background checks, and to give those with mental disabilities and physical disabilities or those who just generally lack mental/physical fitness the help they need. "Firearms and arming citizens in Canada has prevented crimes before; Because people were able to formally, legally, and openly carry firearms, many crimes have been prevented. Militiamen have been able to fight domestic terrorism alongside official forces, the attempt on Stones' life had failed, shootings have been prevented because of armed citizens, the list goes on. Ministry of Defence orders 'Thermobaric Triad', with request for thermobaric SLBM's and SSBN's

Today, after the success of the Italian thermobaric bomb and thermobaric ICBM program, the Ministry of Defence publicly called for a 'Thermobaric Triad' by incorporating seaborne thermobaric capabilities. To do this the MoD has requested that Alfa Romeo Avio test the same thermobaric warheads used in its ICBM's in its SLBM's to allow for thermobaric weapons to be fired from under the sea anywhere in the oceans.

Armageddon-class SSBN's will be constructed to carry these SLBM's as they are the same missiles that carry the nations seaborne nuclear warheads. The MoD has specifically ordered for 6 to be constructed from Fincantieri at a cost of NAF$6 billion each, however due to the bulk order the cost for all 6 has been discounted from NAF$36 billion to NAF$25.2 billion. With 6 thermobaric SSBN's the navy will possess 96 thermobaric SLBM's which will each carry 6 thermobaric warheads, making a total of 576 thermobaric warheads possessed by the navy.

Many within the MoD have called 2020 "The year of thermobaric weapons" due to the fact that this year, apart from ordering 50 new fighter jets, all new acquisitions and proposals made by the MoD have been regarding thermobaric weapons and capabilities. However, despite the excitement towards the new missiles and submarines, they will not be completed for several years to come, however, the land-based thermobaric ICBM's have almost completed testing and will enter service soon, and the Aeronautica Militare has possessed Thermobaric bombs for severals years. Once the SSBN's and their accompanying SLBM's are complete the Second Italian Republic will officially be a 'Thermobaric Triad State'.

The Zackrothian liberals have once again reiterated their claims that it was Orostan that was responsible for the genocide of the war, and that it is Zackaroth who has been and is the victim. This narrative does nothing but reinforce the Orostani attitude that it is Zackaroth that must be made to know what genocide is. The Federation of Socialist Republics and Orostan have not forgotten what the meaning of genocide is. The Zackrothians seem to have done so. The bombing of governmental and military targets is not a genocide. The bombing of one important temple is not a genocide either. What is a genocide is the murder of ten million Orostanis for doing nothing other than living in Orostan. Zackaroth lost only about a tenth of what Orostan lost, and less than a tenth of what South America lost. The former leader of Zackaroth's statement must be taken as shared by a good portion of the population, and his addition that the "Orostani menace" cannot be allowed to survive is the same call for genocide that they have criticized the Orostani government for! It is precisely this type of rhetoric that the Fascists in Germany once used against the Communists and their other enemies. Zackaroth's victim complex will only serve to promote the thought in Orostan and the FSR that Zackaroth must be shown what a genocide actually is, that the entire country of Zackaroth must be made to pay for what it has done. While this view has been criticized by this paper in the past, and this view is by far the most violent, Zackaroth is certainly not helping. Should the former Zackrothian leader Abdullah win his election, it will reinforce the violent attitude in the Federation.

The Zackothian statement by the current leader was more heavily criticized in the press than by the government. In the Federation, it was considered obvious that a Capitalist government may view Islamists it has fought against as a favorable to Socialists, who it has also fought against. Historically, fascist movements have been preferred over socialist movements. An example of this is Britain and France's refusal to agree to an alliance with the Soviet Union against Hitler, instead opting to appease Hitler's demands. The Soviet Union could have had a million men on the German border had Britain and France united against fascism. They did not, showing their preference for fascism over socialism. The same basic principle applies to Nigeria, the Zackrothians likely would support the ICN over socialism. To the Federation's populace, this was incredibly obvious. It seems that the current Zackarothian leader is equally as skilled at historical illiteracy as his country is skilled at genocide.

The lights of the Italian city cast shadows down the beach, rail building machines half illuminated by the yellow lights in the distance. A small motorboat sat on the beach, somewhat unusual for this area. A hand was hung off the side of boat. It was not moving. The lights and dark shapes of foreign freighters sat on the water, unidentifiable flags flapping from poles. The bulldozers and other machines were unmanned. Prefabricated rail segments sat near them in piles waiting to be assembled into high speed rail segments. Machines on already built rail for ballast laying wore markings of Italian transport conglomerates, as well as a few Magellan ones. In the deserted darkness of this stretch of beach, nobody heard the small sound when an Italian guard was shot in the head with a silenced Tokarev as he reached in his pocket for a cellphone. He was swiftly carried off by a man and woman wearing black special operations gear, unidentifiable in the darkness. His body would later be dumped into the sea from a motorboat, with the other five of his colleagues. Guard patrols had been mapped out the two nights before, and this raid was taking place just before a guard change. It would be several minutes before the next guard arrived by car. The group of raiders went about the construction site, planting small packages inside machines and on rail. At the same time behind the construction site, more motorboats lined the beach. The parts of the rail line less guarded, the already built parts, were being sabotaged. Bombs were thrown over fences, guards posted in some places meeting the same fate as the other one at the construction site. By the time the next guards arrived, the men and woman who'd killed their friends were gone, faint outlines in the sand of their motorboats being washed away by the waves.

As soon as they arrived, they'd be treated to quite a show from the city. The tall office building that served as the headquarters of the Construction and Rail companies would burst into light as certain floors of the buildings were blown out in fiery explosions. These were the most vital offices, where plans and records were stored. It was also the offices where security camera footage was stored. Seconds after these explosions shook the skyline, the bombs on the rails and the construction site would explode. Machines, rail lines, and offices were destroyed in the attack, as well as at least twenty guards being killed in the building explosions or having gone 'missing'.

A grey sedan moves through the clogged streets of Santiago, passing pedestrians, houses, and shops. At the top of an office building not far away, a huge rifle is being assembled in parts by an operator. The barrel of the gun is large, and the receiver and firing mechanism is very large. It is an anti-tank rifle, and was designed and built in Orostan. Of course, all identifying marks have been removed from the weapon already. The shooting will take place at the next block, and the man driving the car has only perhaps a minute more to live. He, of course, is unaware of this. He is unaware that his career as a pro-independence MP in the Magellan parliament is going to come to an end in a very bloody way. As he stops his car at a red light among many other cars, a loud gunshot sounds over the city. The shell strikes the roof of the car, going through the former MP and out the bottom of the car. The man is unrecognizable now. Although brutal, this method is undeniably effective. It also proves that betraying the FSR will not be tolerated. The shooter escapes though a service elevator, simply walking away from the crime scene carrying a guitar case with what is most certainly not a guitar inside. He is picked up by motorboat at a deserted beach outside Santiago.

The assassination will be pegged on political enemies once the inscription on the shell, "Death to those who support socialism" is revealed.

In another part of Santiago, another scene is unfolding. The leader of Magella's pro-independence party is saying goodbye to a colleage, and is getting into his car after a good lunch. As he turns his car's key and starts it up, an explosive mounted on the underside of the car is triggered. He is nearly vaporized, and his car explodes in a plume of fire mixed with smoke. Brutal again, but effective. No civilians are harmed, but their days are certainly ruined.


In a small town outside Santiago, the Foreign minister is visiting family friends. He is stepping out of a house, waving goodbye. The moment the door closes he is shot in the head from the window of parked car. The car is driven into the countryside and abandoned soon after, the driver and shooter escaping via motorboat. The car would explode later that day.

The aim of all of these events is to frame the killings on an intensely Pro-Magella group. This is corroborated by a statement from a little known website of a recently formed Fascistic group, publicized through a few social media accounts. The group will claim to be in opposition to the FSR, and in support of Magellan nationalism. It will state the killings were for the purpose of "liberating" Magella. The 'group' is ran off a supposed fishing trawler, which also catches fish. Should the trawler be discovered, a large conventional bomb will be detonated in its hold to destroy all evidence. The website is hosted through a network of worldwide, but mostly Magellan, proxies. The Federation is careful to make sure that the website does not even follow the same design as common or government Federation websites, instead basing it off of Magellan websites. All code is in Spanish, and there is absolutely no indication it isn't Magellan.

Zackaroth successfully tests first Hypersonic Missiles

Today, the Zackarothian military announced that Zackaroth had finally completed its 3 year hypersonic missile project, in conjunction with the NAF. Two separate tests took place. The first test was a Hypersonic Cruise Missile(HCM) fired from Zackaroth towards a derelict ship armed with a LAWS system. The missle reportedly was able to evade every attempt to shoot it down and destroyed the ship completely.

The next attempt was an ICBM launch aimed right at Zackaroth itself. The army assured people that no one was ever in any danger as the missile struck the remote desert in Zackaroth itself. This type of Hypersonic missile is a Hypersonic Glide Vehicle(HGV) . Once again the military made an extreme effort to shoot the missile down with no success. The military praised this accomplishment as years of work have finally paid off.

When asked what the difference was between the two types of missiles the military responded by explaining that HCM's are like typical cruise missiles only much faster and and glide at hypersonic speeds in the atmosphere. Another advantage is that HCM's can be placed on ships, jet fighters and submarines and be able to fire at any target in the world regardless of location. The final advantage is that HCM's can be maneuvered unlike normal cruise missiles that are at the mercy of both the computer and gravity. Because they move so fast and so low, they can defeat many modern missile defense systems, including laser based ones.

HGV's on the other hand must be placed on an ICBM and fired. Once the ICBM reaches maximum altitude, the HGV separates from the ICBM and glides at a hypersonic speed towards its target, benefiting from the same advantages as the HCM. HGV's also don't need to be loaded with ordinance as the kinetic energy produced can destroy a limited area alone. HGV's are also cheaper to produce.

The spokesman went on to claim that for the first year, Zackaroth will be producing 500 of both HCM's and HGV's, with some of the HGV's being added to Zackaroth's current stock of ICBM's, with the other half being saved. Both will enter service immediately. He declined to comment on whether any are active now.

Finally, when asked what type of ordinance would these weapons be armed with, the spokesman said that both type of missiles can be loaded with conventional, Thermobaric, nuclear and special ordinances. He declined to comment again on what special ordinances meant. The name of the missiles has not been revealed yet but the spokesman said they would release a statement on the official names once its available.

Italian Broadcasts blocked - PBSC deems 'illegal'

The Puertollanoan Broadcasting Standards Committee, a governmental organ which controls the standards and rules of broadcasting in television and radio, has deemed the recent Italian broadcast streaming into the Federation of Nativist Islands 'illegal' under Puertollanoan law. The Puertollanoan Broadcasting Standards Committee was given jurisdiction over the airwaves of the Federation during the beginning years of establishment, and therefore has legal authority to enforce the law in the Federation as to Puertollanoan standards. The signal of all Italian broadcasting stations have been blocked and prevented from reaching the FNI, unless they retract their 'illegal elements'. The greatest infringement was the negligence to pay the the 'Foreign Broadcasting Right's Tax' since its inception. The Foreign Broadcasting Right's Tax enforces that foreign broadcasting stations must pay an additional tax of 70% of total income per month to the Puertollanoan Tax Office. Until the Italian stations agree to pay this levy for broadcast into the Federation of Nativist Islands, their signal will be blocked.

Zackarothian Cleric expresses concern about growing Islamophobia in the Americas

Today, ZNN held an interview with Cleric Abdur Razzaaq al-Salehi. Cleric al-Salhei is a Muslim cleric that has become a well known name in Zackaroth over the past few years, trying to promote peace in the world as well as inter faith dialogue between the three major Abrahamic Faiths. In his interview he expressed growing concern that thanks to the rise of he ICN and its terrible acts, that many are starting to associate Islam with suicide bombings and mass killings again. It is not. Ever since the extermination of Wahhabism and the secularization of the Arabian and Persian peninsulas, Islamic terrorism has been at the lowest it has ever been. The ICN is merely a byproduct of the refuse and rejected ideals that where forced out.

That's why I believe the Orostani attacks against Mecca and the statements by the Canadian President Stone,are dangerous. Interfaith relations are generally stable but acts and statements like this break down that wall. Calling for the destruction of Mecca or calling Islam a disease is not helpful and damaging. The ICN nor Zackaroth are the entire Muslim world. Muslims live in all countries and all over the globe"

Cleric al-Salhei has also called for an inter-faith gathering in the city of Jerusalem, saying it is a holy city for Christians, Jews and Muslims and that such a gathering may help ease tensions in an already divided world.

The following document outlines the activities of four AISE agents in Operation White Note whose objective was to detonate explosive devices inside the chemical plant at Parque Industrial do Jardim Sao Geraldo located in the outer suburbs of São Paulo adjacent to São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport. The justification of the sabotage is retaliation to the sabotage of the high-speed rail construction site in Cape Thetis which the government currently suspects was carried out by the government of the Federation of Socialist Republics or the National Industrial Board of the FSR. It is hoped that by exploding the plant some slight disruption in supply chains to local factories will be achieved for a short period of time and that the chemical explosion will wipe out other factories within the Parque Industrial do Jardim Sao Geraldo. Smoke and airborne chemicals from the exploded plant will hopefully halt flights from São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport for a short period of time and asphyxiate local residents.

02:42- Four AISE agents make their way into Parque Industrial do Jardim Sao Geraldo without being spotted and wearing the uniform of the chemical plant's employees for extra measures. Several guards were suffocated in order for the group to gain access.

02:57- AISE agents break open the door into the chemical plant after hacking the plants security system with help from the COC and temporarily shutting it down until its automatic reboot.

03:02- Agents split up and individually plant charges along pipes and storage tanks within the facility containing the highly toxic and flammable chemicals needed to successfully level the building.

03:21- Agents reassemble and leave the facility. A guard shone his flashlight across the carpark of the chemical plant and spotted the four agents making their way out of the industrial park and opens fire, alerting guards across the industrial park.

03:26- The four agents manage to escape the facility and travel 1.5 miles into a nearby forest however it was soon apparent that agent .51-p-74dek-qq1. had been shot severely by the guard and would not survive.

03:41- Agent .51-p-74dek-qq1. is pronounced TERMINATED and is disintegrated in a barrel of acid and poured into the sewer system to ensure that there is no trace of him.

Container ships moved around the port. Docked ships took on fuel and supplies, and at night they sat in the water, their crews sleeping. The huge container ships weren't very far from the shipping offices where the shipping companies oversaw their operations on Cape Thetis. At this time of the night, motorboats moving among the ships was unusual but was likely just last minute supply loading. At least, that's probably what you'd think if you were still up at this hour watching little black motorboats sputter around the port.

The sound of automatic weapons fire woke up half the city a little bit later. Soon after that, a shipping office went up in flames as its structure was blown out from underneath it, sending it tumbling into the street on top of cars and warehouses. Gunshots rang out across the port district, other shipping offices falling over after explosions. Motorboats tied to the piers began to take off, figures wearing body armor carrying off their dead comrades with them. As the motoboats took off, shooting at the police on the pier, explosions began to rock the ships anchored in the port or docked. Holes were punched in the sides of the ships, letting water come in and bringing the ships nearer to the water. Containers fell off the decks of the container ships as fires illuminated the water and the escaping motorboats.

Santiago - the next morning

A sniper stood on the roof of a hotel, a semiautomatic and accurate rifle in his hands. In his sights on this slightly windy morning were the President and vice president of Magella, here at a party meeting. He had the leader of Magella in his sights, and pulled the trigger just as a man he didn't see walked in front of him. The bullet grazed the minster of agriculture's head, deflecting it and striking the Magellan president in the shoulder instead of the head. The sniper, not to be discouraged, went for the Vice President, sending two bullets at them as fast as he could. The first bullet hit them near the collarbone, not fatally though. The second grazed the top of their head. The sniper lowered his gun, knowing that today he'd been beat by bad luck. He could hear police officers coming up the stairs of the hotel now, and opted to take the elevator today. The elevator doors closed as a grenade rolled out of them. The sniper thought it might be a good idea today to go out the back exit of the hotel.

He'd leave the hotel through an alley, walking off with a medium sized briefcase containing a disassembled sniper rifle. He'd leave Santiago by motorboat later that day.

Communist revolutionaries arrested in Phnom Penh

ARVN military police today arrested fourteen individuals on accusation of plotting a campaign of violence with the aim of restoring the genocidal regime in the Indochinese Federation. Three of those arrested were former officers of the dictatorship who had gone into hiding following the Third Indochina War. They shall be put on trial, and if found guilty, may face perpetual detention within the dominion's most secure prison.

French Confederation to tap underwater resources

The French Confederation has announced plans to expand oil and gas drilling operations in the South China Sea. By 2025, it is hoped that annual revenue from the industry will double assuming there are no technical setbacks. It is believe that the decision was made to exploit the reserves in the near future as talk of a ban on non-renewable energies by 2050 is lobbied by environmental think-tanks although this is yet to receive government consideration.

TEN TONS OF CHLORINE SENT SKYWARD AT CHEMICAL PLANT EXPLOSION

In Sao Paulo yesterday night a chemical plant exploded after intruders had broken in. Guards shot at the intruders, killing or incapacitating one of them who was dragged off by their accomplices. A Chlorine tank was ruptured in the explosion, scattering ten tons of Chlorine over the surrounding area. This plant was scheduled for modernization, and the NIB has begun clean up operations as police investigate the scene. This explosion under suspicious circumstances happens after explosions rock the construction site of a high speed rail connection between Cape Thetis and Magella. It is unclear why this chemical plant specifically was targeted, as it was manufacturing cleaning supplies for domestic consumption and not anything of military or particular economic value. A guard interviewed by this paper said that the intruders "...weren't regular criminals, they were trained." The intelligence community has been quiet so far, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Computer malfunctions were reported in the plant's security system just prior to the explosion according to the NIB.

Terrorist Attacks Rock the Nation!

Over the past couple of days, many events have taken place that have completely shaken Magella's population to the core. The day before yesterday, a horrendous attack took place in Cape Thetis. The targets were the construction sites of the new railway, in addition to the offices of the company Atlantia that was coordinating and constructing the railway. Four Magellan citizens were killed, including those visiting the targeted areas to assist in the coordination and planning.

The next day, Magella itself was attacked. Representative Rosario Moles, of the Arica Province was driving home to see his wife and two children when his car was brutally destroyed by what authorities say was a anti-tank shell. In downtown Santiago, Representative Enrique Velázquez was killed by a car bomb in the parking lot of a grocery store. Newly-appointed Minister of the Exterior, Sofía Ramos, was reconnecting with an old friend in Valparaíso when she too was slain.

And now, just yesterday, we received word that attempts had been made on the lives of President Salamanca and Vice President Casales as they exited an office building in Santiago. Luckily, both will survive without any permanent harm.

President Salamanca is still in recovery, however she was able to share some words.

"These attacks, horrendous, brutal attacks, have and continue to cause me and many others a great deal of pain. I knew most of the victims personally. I considered them my friends. I've known Sofía since we were little children. I remember...just yesterday they were breathing just like us, among the land of the living. I laughed with them, argued with them, ate with them. The sudden, unjust taking of their lives is...we will need time to mourn. But we will not stand by. We will find the perpetrators, and all foreign nations who back them, and they will be held accountable."

Shortly after, a joint-investigation was launched by Italian and Magellan authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice. Many have pointed fingers at the FSR, including, in unconfirmed reports, many politicians. Such accusations are based on the fact that none would have more motive than the FSR to assassinate leaders of Magella's secession or to destroy a link between Italian Cape Thetis and Magella. They are also supported by the realization that the supposed "terrorist group", a nationalist group that only made an appearance for the attacks, would have no motive at all to assassinate members of the National Party of Magella, especially not politicians who led the secession movement. While the authorities have released no official statements, preliminary findings seem to confirm these suspicions. The bombs and shells indicate an advanced level of weaponry that no terrorist group would have any access to. Additionally, the anti-tank shell fired at the car of Representative Moles was reportedly inscribed with the phrase "Death to traitors", only fanning the flames further. It is likely that these attacks were perpetrated by the FSR.

UPDATE 3/1: The joint investigation released a statement that, thanks mostly to the Italian COC, they were able to pick apart the website of the framed perpetrators and found that the code was written in Interlingua, and ran through a variety of FSR proxies. With the investigators all but confirming the horrendous attacks were taken out by the FSR's terrorist organizations, an official government response from both Italy and Magella is expected soon.

HOBART -The Australian Head Navy Command has formally released statement regarding the commissioning of the country's first naval sub carrier, with the new carrier christened under the name 'ANS James Cook', in honor of Captain James Cook.

The James Cook was delivered on early December from Japan, though serviceable the navy wanted to undergo several sea test trials in order to determine the full extent of the new vehicle's capabilities and coordination with several naval assets such as destroyers, subfighters, submarines, and drones.

The James Cook will be home to the ANS' 1st and 2nd Underwater Squadrons which are currently patrolling the Eastern Pacific seaboard. The subcarrier will also be used as an underwater communications facility and forward naval headquarters. The carrier has not yet been fitted with armaments, according to reports, although several rumors have stated that the ship will be fitted with nuclear capabilities as well as retrofits to its water pressure plates and communications systems.

CANBERRA - An additional division, the 8th Mechanized Division, will be sent to Nigeria as the last additional forces to bolster the current 80,000 strong Australian Army force there. This puts the total force in Nigeria close to a hundred thousand. This comes as a result of a highly debated issue whether Australia should still keep troops there after the Holy Nigerian Army had collapsed months prior or continue to put pressure on the ICN. The decision came after Australian forces finally entered the city of Onitsha and numerous reports of brutality and savagery on the ICN side.

With the upcoming Australian elections on September 2020, it is still up to debate whether Turnbull had made Nigeria an accomplishment or a burden to his time in office, with public polls reporting a 27% satisfaction rate for the interventions in Nigeria and East Timor. Sanarov shocks Andea with presidential victory

Communist candidate Vivivana Sanarov has won a shock victory in the Andean presidential elections, stunning many political observers.

Her Labor rival Rubén Miralles former representative and former secretary of state was predicted to win in the elections after a series of favorable polls. However, by the morning after election night, Sanarov had won at least 40% of the vote, securing a victory against the Labor and Syndicalist candidates.

Sanarov, whose parents left Poland in 1972 following been taken refuge by the Andean embassy, promised to work tirelessly achieve true communism, which would be reached with a new and revised form of Socialism with Andean Characteristics. Similarly, in the past, she accused the Labor Party of becoming too reformist and centrist, and of not being serious on their goal to achieve communism.

The Communist Party is also on course to retain its plurality in the Andean People's Assembly - which will likely make it easier for the new president to pass legislation.

But Sanarov, who has been roundly criticised during the campaign for her aggressive approach, sounded more conciliatory as she addressed a victory rally of supporters in Lima at the end a long night.

With her family by her side, she said: "I'm reaching out to all of you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great country."

"I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all of Andeans. While the campaign is over, our work on this movement is now really just beginning,"

She also said that he would "deal fairly with everyone” including those beyond Andean and Federation borders, adding: "We will get along with all other nations willing to get along with us. We will have great relationships."

And she paid tribute to the other candidates, who telephoned her to concede only minutes earlier. "Miralles and García both have had worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe them a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country," she said. "I mean that very sincerely."

Earlier today, Miralles tweeted: "This team has so much to be proud of. Whatever happens tonight, thank you for everything."

The following document outlines the events of Operation Sweeping Sky as reported by the single surviving AISE agent involved. The objective of the two agents involved in the operation was to raid and destroy a train carrying nuclear fuel by boarding it from a siding on the edge of Irecê, a bustling town with a population of 62,527 people located in a rural setting in the centre of the State of Bahia's savannah region. CLASSIFIED: OPERATION RED OCEAN

The various terrorist attacks which had recently occurred in South America had caught the attention of Andean intelligence officers. During the last days of the Ramirez administration, an investigation began to identify the cause of the attacks, especially of the first one in Cape Thetis. Eventually, the evidence began stacking up overwhelmingly stating that the terrorists were rouge Orostani soldiers.

By the time that Sanarov won the elections, sufficient intelligence was gathered to identify most if not all of the conspirators. Although the conspirators seemingly had good intentions for the FSR, it has been becoming fairly obvious by now that such actions did nothing but hurt the FSR in the international stage. In addition, by acting without official authorization the conspirators were performing armed mutiny. Following President Sanarov being briefed on the situation, she decided that the only viable option was to crack down on the conspirators.

At midnight, Andean special forces were dispatched to detain the conspirators. Outgunned and surprised, most of the conspirators were quickly forced to surrender. The most difficult part of the operation involved the floating base of operation within Magellan waters. The conspirators there were heavily armed, and interrogation of a captured conspirator led to the discovery that the boat was capable of self-destructing. Given that destroying the boat wasn't an option due to the need of keeping the operation secret, the Andean task force was forced to take more unconventional methods.

A while later, the boat was approached by an Andean submarine. The submarine soon deployed its special forces, which tried to stealthily board the boat at night and disable the crew. Upon entrance, the enemies would be met with a barrage of stun grenades, taser guns, and tear gas. The special forces also had access to conventional weaponry, but such would ideally not be used. If control of the boat was successfully established, the crew would be detained and the boat would be brought back to an Andean port, where it'd be subject to further investigation.

Following the incident, the conspirators were to be interrogated and then dishonorably discharged from the military. In the future, Andean intelligence services would keep an eye out for any suspicious activity happening within the Orostani military, to prevent a similar situation from occurring again and to make sure the FSR military would remain under civilian control.

As a result of the conspirators' actions, in the municipality of Irecê nuclear fuel had been leaked towards a local water reservoir. Soon after the Italian attack, immediate actions were taken to avoid further collateral damage, and testing would soon begin to see how severe the situation was. A manhunt was also set to find the remaining AISE agent who escaped from the scene.

Military installations begin construction in Caribbean

"The threat of Empire has never been more present," said President Castillo of the Bolivarian Republic to a rally of military officers. These were the words that the Puertollanoan President echoed before officially announcing the construction of military installations across the Federation of Nativist Islands, with the approval of the newly inaugurated President Danilo Medina. "After our spate of liberation in the Caribbean, the status quo of European supremacy has been threatened, and I will continue you threaten it," he said, justifying the construction of at least 4 military bases, spread across the ex-Germanic ABC islands and the ex-Italian Il Deserido. Government announces mitigation strategies after deadly attacks in Cape Thetis believed to be connected to FSR or NIB

Today the government announced a series of mitigation strategies to help prevent any future attacks in Cape Thetis by suspected FSR or NIB spies. The government has not confirmed whether the attacks were definitely carried out by the FSR or NIB, however claims that the nature of the attacks points to the NIB "significantly". The sabotage attacks against the high speed rail construction site and the Port of Luigi Binelli Mantelli has claimed the lives of 83 people with several people still reported as missing. President Mariastella Gelmini called the attacks "Targeted acts of terror agaisnt the integrity of Cape Thetis".

The government of Cape Thetis has been granted permission by Rome to execute a Section 21 Mass Arrest Warrant for all FSR-born residents in Cape Thetis, who number 5,290, approximately 0.33% of the population of Cape Thetis. Residents have been informed over local news and radio to report any known FSR-born residents to the police or military ASAP. Anyone who is found guilty of harbouring FSR residents in Cape Thetis will be prosecuted, fined and could face up to 12 months in prison or even life if they are found guilty of espionage. The 5,290 people, including children, will be detained in Jupiter Airbase and Barracks in north eastern Cape Thetis due to the large number of people being detained.

Rome has also given Ā50 million in extra police and counterintelligence funding to the Cape Thetis government as well as relaxing laws regarding imprisonment without trial for people suspected to be saboteurs by counterintelligence. Rome has also dispatched a fleet of 6 Comandanti-class patrol ships, 4 FREMM Frigates and 4 M-class SSN's to Cape Thetis from metropolitan Italy to help the existing Cape Thetis fleet patrol the waters surrounding Cape Thetis after CCTV captured a blurry image of small black vessels landing on the shores of Cape Thetis around the time of the attacks and leaving afterwards. New advanced radars will be used to scan Cape Thetis territorial waters 24/7 and infrared will be used at night to look out for possible saboteurs. Anti-FSR Policies Signed Into Law!

Just a couple days ago, terrorist attacks rocked throughout the nation of Magella and neighboring Cape Thetis. It didn't take long for the joint investigation launched between Italian and Magellan authorities to find the perpetrators, who many suspected all along: the FSR. Alongside the preliminary evidence found, as stated in a prior article, authorities announced that they were able to find and capture the terrorists involved that did not flee back to the FSR, and that they had all but proven their allegiances, claiming "Death to Magellan traitors!" before swallowing cyanide capsules.

Almost immediately after, new Anti-Terrorism laws were proposed, before finally being approved three days later. Commonly called the Anti-FSR laws, they are primarily aimed at the FSR due to its recent terrorist actions. First, the FSR was labeled as a state sponsor of terrorism, and all access between the two countries have been blocked. For the next two weeks, Magella will accept returns from Magellan citizens, and any and all FSR citizens are allowed to leave; however everyone else is blocked from crossing the border. This is to block terrorists from entering the country. Additionally, the Magellan navy has ramped up naval patrols over the northern Pacific coast and the Atlantic coast. There is a full travel ban being enforced. To prevent the terrorist propaganda from entering the minds of Magellans and convincing them to join the cause, all communications from the FSR have been blocked, including TV, radio, and websites.

According to most major polls, this move is supported by over 80% of the population, with most of the rest remaining undecided. Overwhelmingly supported by legislature, the only united opposition came from the Far-Left Alliance, the organization with the least seats in both houses. While the communist parties have never been widely supported in politics, there have been reports that their base's numbers are at all time lows. The Popular Front had a less united response. With most of their politicians having been exposed by the corruption scandal, their support too has decreased, and there are some rumors hinting that the political alliance will break up because of it.

A less supported move, however, was another recently passed law, enforcing conscription of able-bodied males into the military. This bill barely had the support necessary to pass, and the citizens' response was just as divided. Arguments for it made interesting points about how a larger military is needed if Magella has any chance when standing up against any future hostilities from other nations, especially the FSR. Others pointed out that such a bill would, in addition to Magella's extensive gun control laws, allow for an increasingly trained and armed populace, should they pass all requirements to own one. It is likely the law will not be permanent, however there are already many petitions challenging it. From early analyses, though, it appears none will be able to garner the support necessary.

Today, the FSR's military announced the release of the MBT-1 Jaguar, which was developed jointly with Puertollano. Designed from the ground up to operate in difficult terrain the MBT-1 Jaguar features several key innovations not found in other tanks.

One of the more visible features of the Jaguar is its advanced suspension system which allows for individual control of every bogie on the tracks. This allows the Jaguar to "sit," "stand" and "kneel", as well as "lean" towards one side or a corner. "Sitting" gives the tank a lower profile and offers superior handling over roads. "Standing" gives the vehicle higher ground clearance for maneuverability over rough terrain. "Kneeling" increases the angular range in which the tank's gun barrel can elevate and depress, allowing the vehicle to fire its main gun downhill as well as engage low-flying aircraft more effectively. The suspension unit also cushions the chassis from vibrations when traveling over uneven terrain, as the bogies can be adjusted individually on-the-fly. Using the suspension system, the Jaguar can also elevate its main gun up to twenty-four degrees, which allows a curved trajectory attack at a hovering helicopter target 5 kilometers away.

The suspension system also benefits from a high-resolution terrain-scanning solution. This allows the vehicle to "plan ahead" by scanning nearby terrain up to 50 meters away in all directions and calculate the optimal position of the bogies in order to improve vehicle handling over uneven terrain. This also plays in with the computer-aided aiming solution, as the tank can automatically adjust for terrain changes while aiming.

The vehicle can cross rivers as deep as 4.1 meters using a snorkel system, which also serves as a conning tower for the tank commander. The system takes approximately 20 minutes to prepare. The turret becomes watertight while fording, but the chassis can take in 500 gallons of water to prevent excessive buoyancy from the air inside the vehicle and keep the tracks planted firmly on the ground. Furthermore, the tank can enter combat-ready status as soon as it resurfaces.

The Jaguar also has a hard-kill active protection system to protect the tank from anti-tank threats. It uses a three-dimensional detection and tracking radar and a thermal imager to detect incoming threats. The active protection system can detect warheads up to 150 meters from the tank, and a defensive rocket is fired to destroy them at 10–15 meters away. With that, the system can neutralize rocket-propelled grenades and anti-tank guided missiles. As for softkill capability, the tank is capable of VIRSS grenades which can effectively block optical, infrared and radar signatures. The tank also has a Radar Warning Receiver and radar jammer. Four all-bearing laser warning receivers are also present to alert the crew should the vehicle become targeted, and the computer can also deploy VIRSS grenades towards the direction of the beam.

The Jaguar has a 130mm electrothermal-chemical gun which is mounted on an unmanned turret. Several military analysts from various countries have already said that this might "revolutionize" tank warfare. In addition to the reduced profile, faster firing rate, and increased protection from the unmanned turret, the ETC gun provides greater range, accuracy, payload, and firepower than conventional guns. Also, the munitions of the ETC gun is insensitive to non-engineered methods of firing, which means that the Jaguar is fairly immune from their ammo being detonated by a penetrating projectile.

Although not much is known about the Jaguar's armor, the tank utilizes a composite blend which is kept secret and an NBC system. More innovatively though, the tank utilizes electromagnetic reactive armor, though not much info has been released about this technology. The tank also features improved optics and engines. The fire control system was greatly improved, and atmospheric sensors alert the crew if the tank enters a hazardous environment. Moreover, unconfirmed reports state that if in an emergency, the tank can be piloted by just two crewmembers, or even just one.

Finally, the tank was built to be network-centric. In fact, its speculated that the tank can automatically spot and track visible targets, compare them using the data link established with other friendly vehicles to prevent redundant target engagements and fire its main gun without manual input.
