Soviet Union Declares War
The recent weeks within Eastern Europe have been turbulent. Retaining a calm demeanor Vostik has discussed matters of a response to the breaches in liberties within Calindelo. A shock to the populace the leading party has corrupted and diluted principles of socialism and communism to erect a regime dedicated to waging war on its populace. The Premier has discussed among her top officials from the Ministry of Defense and among the Soviet a course of action.

In a speech that she gave to Kremlin a day earlier:
"The myth and belief of Eastern European instability only continues to grow. Former brothers and sisters west of the Don corrupt the beliefs of Marx. They seize the means of protest from their people and respond with force. Ignorant, they ignore all calls for peace let claim themselves the prophets of such peace. Through silver laced tongues they lied their way to their peoples hearts and now seek to control them the way those before them have. It is an obligation for us to act not only to dethrone from power these corrupt officials but to ensure a peace from terror that is long overdue and in debt to the people of Calindelo.

Her speech though brief was aired nationally over the union reaching areas as far west as Minsk and east as Vladivostok.

OOC: I'll due army strength in the actual thread

Soviet-Magellan Peace Agreement
In recent news the birth of the Magellan Republic has echoed throughout the world bringing the interest of nations as far as Asia. In recent talks several Soviet diplomats made contact with the new republic. In these brief discussion it was agreed that the union would recognize the republic. With further inquiry the diplomats welcomed several delegates from the MR to Moscow where a peace agreement would be made.

After day of discussion the backbone of the new Soviet-Magellan Peace Agreement would be forged and titled as the "North Star-Southern Cross Agreement (NSSCA) an agreement within the following provisions:

- Soviet investment into several infrastructural projects within the MR.
- Decreased tariffs on good from the MR into the Soviet Union and vice-versa (equal to that of policies in relation to the NAF on the Soviet End.)
- Development of Project Frontier
- Decrease on Arms sales from the Union to the MR.
- Increased cultural and scientific cooperation
- Possibility of further amendments into the future.

Project: Frontier
Within the greater trade networks of the Pacific the Soviet Union had occupied an unfavorable position. Being too north to be in line with major lines of trade it is a sentiment shared partly with the Magellan Republic. Both sharing a position of wishing to develop their frontier regions long the east and south respectively these two parties have come to the agreement to begin development of Project: Frontier. To develop Arctic colonies along their cold frontiers for economic and scientific use.

Economically new settlements are being planned to be built along the north east of Russia and the south of the M.R. From this research these settlements will be placed along these areas deemed fit with roads built to connect them to established lines of commerce within their countries. This is expected to not only increase the amount of commerce to the frontier communities but also increase the range of Pacific trade by giving more incentive for other nations to as well trade in these areas.

Scientifically research teams will be sent to study and determine the effects of this project both in the short and long term with dedicated teams expected to spend multiple years to decades analyzing this question as well as aiding in efforts to preserve the biodiversity and indigenous communities within this wild tundra.

MEM-Pro: Phase 2.5

Merely a week after President Salamanca announced even more deals with foreign nations, primarily Asia-Pacific nations, as part of phase 2 of her plan, she just announced more yesterday. She has stated that these are a continuation of phase two and not part of a new phase, despite rumors that she is in secret talks for a hidden phase three. Her plan, the Magellan Economic and Military Recovery Program, often called MEM-Pro (OOC: I know it doesn't make sense but bear with me here, it's the best nickname I could think of), is expected to make Magella a Middle Power within the next fifteen years.

One deal of this phase is a sector-specific free trade agreement with Persia, the first of the three Middle Eastern great powers to sign economic deals with Magella. The Magellan exports of copper, natural gas, fruits, seafood, and wood products, such as tree pulp, cardboard, and paper will go to Persia without taxation, and the Persian exports of steel, fibers, and rugs will come to Magella without taxation.

Another update to MEM-Pro involves an already participating member, the USSR. The two lowered their mutual tariffs further, and began Project: Frontier as an initiative of the North Star-Southern Cross Agreement. This project began the development of less populated areas of both nations, the east for the USSR and the southwest for Magella. These new port cities would encourage even more Pacific trade by creating a new cross-Pacific trade network. The project also includes Soviet investments into Magellan infrastructure, and a mutual scientific observation of the biodiversity of these regions. Even with the development of these regions, both will also attempt to preserve indigenous populations and biodiversity.

Additionally, Magella bought five S-400 SAM systems from the USSR, arguably one of the best in the world, with radars able to simultaneously track 100 targets at a 400 km range, and different missiles resulting in a 40-400 km range and 20-185 km altitude, at speeds going up to Mach 6. Each system came with one mobile command post, one acquisition and battle management radar, six engagement and fire control radars, two early warning all-altitude acquisition radars, twelve four-missile launchers, and six masts for the engagement and fire control radars in forested areas. Additionally, Magella bought thirty Pantsir-S2 anti-aircraft weapons, with radars with 360 degree coverage and a range greater than 40 km. These anti-aircraft Pantsir-S2s are also equipped with twelve missiles with a 30 km range and 15 km altitude, able to take anything from drones to aicraft down, and two automatic, anti-aircraft, autocannon guns that can shoot 2,500 rounds per minute with a 4 km range and 3 km altitude. The Pantsir's radars can simultaneously track 40 targets, engage 3, and control 4 missiles. The two defense systems are both highly resistant to electronic jamming and can even detect some stealth aircraft (OOC: No clear word on whether they can detect F-22s or B-2 Spirit Bombers at great ranges, but they can at closer ones). They are able to integrate through the S-400s command module, and effectively create area access denial zones to almost all aircraft. The total cost was 2.2 billion, which Magella will pay off incrementally, only paying 500 million this year, and then the next, and so on for around four years.

Australians in Varna

Image

The President has voiced the issue of Australian Forces that may or may not be ongoing to support the Polish War Effort through the port of Varna. The President remarked that "Unless the Australian Government sends their word that the Australian Armed Forces stationed in Varna will be for peaceful purposes, the Bulgarian Government will be forced to ask the Australian Armed Forces to leave Sovereign Bulgarian Territory and mark the Agreement on the leasing of Varna null and void."

The Republic of Bulgaria will be supporting the Government of the Austro Danubian Empire throughout their war on Calindelo with Medical and Non-Combatant Aid. The Republic of Bulgaria will also send a 20,000 man Expeditionary Force to fight side-by-side the Austro-Danubians in battle.

One of many high speedtrains
TRANSCONTINENTAL RAILROAD COMPLETED

Brilliant news! The Transcontinental Railroad, brainchild of Persia Moves CEO Ardeshir Dilshad and Prime Minister Davud Akbar has completed. It is a massive system, including high speed passenger trains and standard cargo trains. In total it spans roughly a whopping 5,000 miles. Stretching from the warm seas of the Persian Gulf to the warm Caspian, to the staggering Caucasus Mountains, and then into the heart of Russia, diving into the Ukranian fields, but splitting off into the cold depths of Russia, passed the glory of the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, into the Finnish snow, across a revolutionary bridge to Sweden, into the Danish lands, through German pastures, Dutch tulip fields and then into Paris itself through the DEU Transport Network. It is perhaps one of the greatest engineering efforts in human history. The Orient Express has returned, better then ever before. With high speed trains carrying someone from Tehran to Moscow in just below 8 hours! Revolutionizing Eurasian trade, and bringing it ever closer. PM Akbar said "this represents one of the great opportunities in modern times. I look forward to immense economic growth, social progress, and continental connection from this great feat. I wish to commend to workers who worked to build this wonder, and they shall always be able to tell their children and grandchildren, I built the Great Railroad. I am a hero. Every worker will receive a bronze railroad spike, alongside the promised pensions from the beginning of the project." Trains will not yet run, because PM Akbar has invited the Soviet Premier, Ladvanian Prime Minister, German Chancellor, Nordic Prime Minister, and French President for a special event in Iran, where a final spike will be driven into the railroad on the Soviet-Persian Border, other world leaders are invited to attend this spectacular feat, this amazing ceremony! The spike is solid gold and carved with the Soviet Bear, Ladvanian Lion, Persian Lion, German Eagle, French cockade. Each world leader will have a shot at hitting in through. They will draw lots to decide who goes first.

What times we live in!

"Today, marks a big point in history that shows what great people within great nations can do within great countries working along side eachother dispite their political, social, or even economical difference. I would like to congratulate all those strong family men and women whom workedon the railroad, you men and women are the epitome of an honest working class that we cannot live without. I applaud persia for its efforts ant Mr.Akbur for showing his interests towards us and the company for treating our strong men and women with the upmost respect and dignity."
-Prime Minister Joseph Lenin

That was Joseph Lenin's speech after being sworn into the position of Prime Minister. The position of Vice president has been diminished there will only be a president and Prime minister. The individual whom is elected as Prime Minister will remain in his position until he or she resigns or is impeached. Robert Maxey has said the following in regards to the change.

"It shows that running the executive branch of our government is not a one man job, but instead many individuals aiding and supporting the elected president are necessary to run this glorious nation, the vice president whom is a large role is seen as the shadow or as a backup, but this is noot the case, this is why we have all agreed upon changing the position all together."

President Robert Maxey and Prime minister Joseph Lenin will make their esteemed trip and Joseph Lenin will have the honors as he is the one who signed it into effect in Ukraine, creating thousands of jobs and uniting several nations and increasing relations with The USSR and Persia. A remarkable achievement for Ukraine.

In other news, Vladimir Nica, the former Vice President Involved in a scandal was found dead in his home. Upon investigations from the congressional justice committee and local police it has been confirmed that Vladimir Nica, former Ambassador to the DEU and former Vice President has committed suicide. The esteemed official will have full honors and a state funeral where all are welcome to come, President Robert Maxey and his cabinet will attend.

This unfortunate incident has caused massive civil unrest and mamy conspiracy theories have gone as far to say the Joseph Lenin was behind the death of the esteemed delegate, Vladimir Nica had plans to move to france where he openly expressed his intentions to slander the Ukrainian Government. Some believe him communicating with the French government about classified information may have lead to his 'assasination'(as some call it). Prime Minister Joseph Lenin was deeply offended when asked about the topic and allegations surrounding it. He said

"What and ABSURD allegation, does the media have no sense of respect or line to stop?!"
After commenting he marched away with his team of security down the congressional hall.

OOC: They will never take power, just trying to make my politics more interesting

The meeting hall where delegates meet
First Meeting of the Tudeh Party of Persia

Since the Tudeh Party went underground after the Islamic Revolution, it has never held a congress. It waged a guerrilla war of resistance, or as it referred to it, "a protracted people's war for the liberation of the Persian proletarian class." They waged war against the Islamic Government and then the Military Government which eventually formed the PGU. However, after the formation of the new democratic order, they reformed as a political party, it was forced to disarm all militias by the government, but still exists as a political force advocating for orthodox Marxist Leninism and the "complete and final elimination of bourgeois democracy." It met in it's first congress yesterday, where it held to a platform of orthodox Marxist Leninism, often using the buzzword phrase, "anti revisionist Leninism." More moderate Luxembourgists tried to stage a political coup, but failed, sidelined. Though it has made a lot of sound and fury, it has no MPs, however it looks to change that when possible.

President Kraszanka Steps Down

Klein Barret
24th of March, 2018 08:24

Image
Former President Kraszanka after stepping down

In the wake of recent turmoil, the Calin Congress voted to impeach President Kraszanka and several other politicians. Legal charges were also pressed against Kraszanka, which if they had passed could have condemned her to jail. Supposedly, politicians had been disenchanted with President Kraszanka following her undemocratic and authoritarian reign, which had also led to an invasion of Calindelo by several major powers. They had also caught wind that Kraszanka planned to turn over Bratislava to the Austro-Danubian Empire in turn for peace and cash, which infuriated many, especially Slovakian politicians. However, the impeachment process didn't go as smooth as originally planned. According to first-hand accounts, before any politician even had time to leave the Polish Capitol Building the building was stormed by Calin special forces, and all politicians deemed unloyal were arrested on the basis of being "traitors" and "collaborators with the enemy." Following that, what had happened at the Capitol was censored from the news.

The conspirators had hoped to keep Kraszanka in power. Many of them sincerely believed that the enemy coalition wished to partition Calindelo like had been the fate of their ancestors several times. In their logic, those who supported the impeachment were also those who would be willing to collaborate with the invaders and thus had to be removed. The orchestrators of the coup then briefed Kraszanka on what had happened and announced their intentions to defend Calindelo to the last man, woman, and child. What remained of the Congress, now simply a puppet then enacted a bill to give Kraszanka the authority to do whatever was necessary to defend the country.

In a surprising turn of events which followed Natalia Kraszanka mandated that the civilian government be returned to power. After overseeing it, she gave an emotional speech that was broadcasted throughout the nation, in which she admitted that she had made mistakes during her reign and apologized for them. At the end of the speech, she resigned from the presidency. In response, the grateful members of Congress dropped all charges on her, including the impeachment bill, though dropping that is more symbolic than anything. Almost imminently after, Congress approved a law to rename the country to the Calin Republic, in order to mend ties amongst ethnic divisions within the country. Almost amongst all of Calindelo, even amongst Kraszanka's most prominent critiques, many praised her graceful descent from power.

Following the declaration of the Republic of Calindelo, many drastic changes were made. The Calin Government was reorganized to bring "equality, fairness, and justice" amongst all member countries of Calindelo, as opposed to the previous system which many thoughts were Polish-dominated. Executive Mandate № 191 was repealed, bringing an end to what many called a clear example of government oppression. Finally, all political prisoners including former president Prochazk were released. All political groups were also unbanned from Calindelo, which was mostly viewed in a positive matter until people were awakened to the sight of fascist parties, although their influence they would wield following the next elections seems negligible at the moment and is expected to remain the same in the future. The supposed "Calin Spring" led to much rejoicing. In the time which followed, the FFCE mostly disbanded, with many being sufficiently content of the reforms. However, some sporadic violence remains, mostly in Slovakia but still much less than before.

However, despite much rejoice the War of Eastern Europe is still ongoing. Calindelo is surrounded from all sides by hostile enemies. Old fears have been resurrected amongst the Calin population, with many fearing that foreign powers will attempt to partition and subjugate them. Then there's also the threat of the DPRC, laying dangerously close to Warsaw. Many in the government appealed to relocate the base of governance to a more secure location temporarily. However, after the fierce debate, the proposal was shot down. The decision was vastly popular amongst the public, most whom thought that retreating from Warsaw while sending others to fight and die for it was cowardly. Despite this, it has been confirmed that preparations have been taken to move the government to an undisclosed location.

Today the Department of Defense finally opened the headquarters of the Advanced Research Agency in order to develop technologies for military use, particularly those which go beyond current military requests. While such projects have been done in the past, ARA seeks to help coordinate them by organizing them under one central body. Many outside observers have noted that the ARA heavily resembles the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency or DARPA which existed in the United States during the Cold War.

Government officially launches the Family Aid Initiative to all Italian citizens

Today the government officially launched the Family Aid Initiative, which has been debated and discussed by many in the government over the past year. The program hopes to see the Italian birth rate soar from its current rate of 1.37 births per woman to 2.1 births per woman at the very least. Below is the official summary of the Family Aid Initiative:

Proposed changes to existing legislation:
Abortion legislation:

- Reduce eligibility of abortion request to first 40 days of pregnancy (currently first 90 days of pregnancy)
- Eliminate abortion requests due to economic reasons (leaving health and social reasons).

Parental leave legislation:

- Increase paid paternity leave to equal time as maternity leave (22 weeks)
- Increase percentage of salary received to 100% for maternity and paternity leave (currently 80%)

Proposed new legislation:
Pregnancy income tax exemption:

- Pregnant women will be exempt from the 12% flat income tax rate imposed by the Italian state
- Partner of the pregnant woman will be charged reduced 8% income tax rate by the Italian state (Only applicable when partner is married to pregnant woman and lives in same household)

Childcare assistance:

- 50% of childcare costs will be covered by the Italian state for those who earn less than GDP Per Capita (Ā43,525 / $53,735)
- Those who earn less than Ā18,000 ($22,272) per year will have the full extent of their childcare costs covered by the Italian state.

The Goal of The Family Aid Initiative:
"The goal of the Family Aid Initiative is to increase the national birth rate from an abysmal 1.37 births per woman to, at the very least, 2.1 births per woman, equal to the current French birth rate. With a birth rate of 2.1 or over the population will be replacing itself, stopping the current population decline taking place in Italy. Optimal long-term results would be a sustained birth rate of 2.5 births per woman, slightly above the world average and giving Italy the highest birth rate in Europe, securing a large future workforce ensuring Italy remains a major global economy into the future beyond the lives of living generations."

President Mariastella Gelmini is an avid supporter of the family aid initiative and has even published her second autobiography at the same time of the launching of the initiative, titled "A Family-Oriented President", the autobiography discusses her family growing up (parents and siblings) and the family she has now (a husband and daughter), and she even discusses her desire to have two more children as she "Loves her family, and wants it to expand", also believing it is her "national duty" to have three children to contribute her part to increase the birth rate to at least 2.1 births per woman.

This autobiography is likely to cause some controversy among younger people who often feel pressured into having children despite wanting to be independent into their 30's unlike older generations. Her previous autobiography, "A Christian President" also caused controversy over its "Ostracisation of the largest minority religion of Judaism" according to one critic, despite the Jewish Leadership Council of Italy saying that it was not offended by the Christian nature of the autobiography.

Government Recognises The Magellan Republic

In one of the first acts as new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayomide Abioye Karimi discussed the issue of The Magellan Republic with the President of Sudan, Farid Ayotunde Najm. It was an important issue of discussion as it seemed to plague international affairs. It was decided in their meeting about half a week ago, of which the minutes have just been released, that the State of Sudan will recognise the newly formed Magellan Republic in South America.

The Government were set to announce the decision to recognise The Magellan Republic in 2 weeks, but the leak of the news has led the Government to come out today announcing their recognition of the independence of The Magellan Republic from the FSR.

The FSR had been attempting to prevent such a secession from the Union of nations, but with the recognition of any European and Asian countries, this task seems to appear harder for them every day. It was once said by a great philosopher than independence bids don't depend on any internal factors necessarily, although these can obviously help with support for secession. The only necessary requirement, he said, was that there was external support (ie. foreign nations which support/accept the independence bid). In this case, there is certainly external support for the independence bid. That's why, in my view, the assertion of independence by The Magellan Republic will be fairly successful; they have the needed external support for their bid for independence from Europe and the Asian-Pacific region.

I'm not an economist, so I cannot comment absolutely on The Magellan Republic's economic chances. However, I will allow my friend, Prof. Botha to comment for me.

''Undoubtedly, there will be some economic hardship from their independence bid. But we cannot really tell, from a Sudanese perspective, how successful The Magellan Republic will be at rebuilding their economic foundations through external links. There is willingness from the international community to trade with The Magellan Republic, within some nations even at a loss to their previous trade agreements with other countries, but it's whether the transition period will damage The Magellan Republic in the long term or not.''

Interviewing people on the streets of Sudan, there is a consensus amongst people in regards to the situation in The Magellan Republic, summed up by one 25 year-old female we met: ''It's not relevant to us... I don't care, really.'' Despite the apathy on the streets, the Government has obviously identified the importance of recognising The Magellan Republic, and will stand behind that decision.

Violent Protests in Juba

Christians in the largest city of Southern Sudan, Juba, have engaged in violent protests in the city centre, clashing with counter-protesting Muslims, and damaging stores and marketplaces.

They have been protesting at what they deem to be 'Pro-Islamic, un-Christian values' being imposed on them through law from central Government, of which they claim to have no say over. As argued by the Muslims, law and the foundations of society should be built upon Islamic law and Shari'a. However, the qualms Christians have with this is that they do not want Islamic law imposed onto their Christian lands, hence the violent protests.

With elections coming up in a few years time and the campaigners just starting to come out of the woodwork and announce their candidacy for a Government position, this could be the start of a series of protests by both Muslims and Christians alike, as well as Secularists, who all believe the other groups are imposing their values on to Sudanese society, and that what they believe should be the foundation of society.

One tonne of Cannabis and 100kg of cocaine seized by Italian police in drug raid on international drug trafficking ring in Naples

Over the past months the COC (Cybernetic Operations Command) has been working alongside the Italian police to monitor the activities of an international drug trafficking ring which has recently set up a new 'European Headquarters' for its drug distribution within an abandoned warehouse just outside of Naples. The Italian police were notified of the presence of the new drug distribution centre by an Guardia di Finanza sleeper agent embedded within the drug trafficking ring several days after its establishment, however the Gruppo di Intervento Speciale (GIS) did not want to make a raid right away, instead waiting for more drugs to be stockpiled in the warehouse. Furthermore, the COC were requested to listening in and monitor the group, waiting for the big prise- Mr. and Mrs. Schneider. This middle-aged married couple are the masterminds of the international drug trafficking ring and are in charge of the entire operation according to data from the COC and Guardia di Finanza sleeper agents.

The day came when the COC confirmed that Mr and Mrs Schneider were visiting the new warehouse as a shipment of 100kg of cocaine arrived from South America and they wanted to ensure that it was all there in person. The COC gave the go-ahead that the couple were in the building and the GIS team went into action, breaching the warehouse and killing 13 armed men, not thought to be Italian citizens, and arresting 8 unarmed men who appeared to be transport drivers for the drug distribution. Finally, Mr and Mrs Schneider were captured by the GIS team after attempting to make an escape in the chaos of the firefight and the couple along with the 8 drivers were taken to Naples prison for detention before trial.

The 8 drivers, as they were unarmed, were sentenced to 20 years in prison with chance of parol in 15 years while Mr and Mrs Schneider were sentenced to life in prison without parol. They will be allowed to live in a shared cell together in Italy's only mixed-sex prison. The pair confirmed in court that the tonne of cannabis and 100kg of cocaine were destined for distribution to Rome, Milan, Vienna, Bucharest, Athens, Paris, Marseille, Barcelona, Madrid, Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Zurich, London, Manchester, Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm. The incineration of the drugs will take place within the next drugs and the COC will monitor the dismantling of the drug trafficking ring now that its leaders and managers are incarcerated.

The head of Italian police made a statement claiming "We have saved the lives of many across all of Europe and the wider world today with the destruction of this toxic international drug trafficking ring however this is only one of many trafficking rings across the world, and while Italy may no longer be home to a drug trafficking ring, other nations in Europe and across the world likely have the same issue as we did, and it is not over for us, in the future another drug trafficking ring will likely pop up. While we cannot completely stop drug trafficking we must try and make it as difficult and as dangerous as possible for those doing it"

PM Akbar has taken a gamble on new elections
Akbar agrees to new elections

PM Akbar took a motorcade to Parliament where he was not scheduled to speak, he was welcomed to the house by MPs, SDU leadership had just adjourned an emergency meeting, which was followed by a brief cabinet meeting. Akbar was recognized by the Chair and began to Speak.

"Honorable Ladies and Gentlemen of the House. I come to you to speak to you on a concordat. A concordat between the people and my government. This government serves at the pleasure of the people, not a Shah or a General. This government promised the people strong and stable leadership. This government promised rebuilding and reconstruction after decades of repression and devastation. This government promised freedom and protection of freedoms after years of war and tyranny. This government promised a New Persia, a better Persia, a united Persia, and a just Persia. I believe we have consistently made good on these promises. Persia has excelled like never before. After the war this country was destined for disunity and poverty. This government, with the help of unrelenting commitment of the people and our workers, has built a Persia at the peak of it's power and prestige, Persia is the destination of the world's businesses and investments. Now we have an amazing feat of construction built to connect us with the world. Civil War and Destruction be damned! We rebuilt! We innovated! We did not merely recovered, we excel! This government however, has a concordat with the people, to be accountable, to be honest, and now a portion of the house has called for elections to fulfill that concordat. While this government has an enthusiastic democratic mandate, I have agreed to hold a snap election to occur in two months time. To evaluate what the people believe on pressing issues of the day. Not just politicians.

The Prime Minister would elaborate on his point, but the message was clear. The motion passed with 197 votes in favor, SDU backbenchers are reportedly very worried, as they worry for their seats and voted no. However, several UIC MPs also voted nay, fearing a loss to their seats.
The Tehran Daily Mail has conducted a 4 way poll of exclusively Iranian parties with the party and party leader:
Social Democratic Union (Davud Akbar): 40%
United Islamist Coalition (Saeed Jalili): 25%
People's Party (Jamsheed Zartosht): 22%
New Democracy (Khaliq Harun): 13%

SDU maintains a massive lead, and it seems highly unlike they would lose their majority, it seems Akbar seeks a renewed mandate to deal with current crises.

For reference here are the results in vote share last time, when the SDU won a massive majority.

Social Democratic Union: 43%
United Islamic Coalition: 22%
People's Party: 14%

Independents: 13%
New Democracy: DID NOT PARTICIPATE

'Il Deserido' liberated by Puertollanoan Forces; failed ADE counter-attack

The Island dominion known as 'Il Deserido' only hours ago was liberated by the Puertollanoan Forces, asserting control over the Town Hall, Port and Airstrip, with the Governor in exile. In a mission, dubbed, Operation Anti-Colonialism, the Navy and Missile Forces combined strategic power to liberate the island from the Italian military occupants, who had controlled the island after they bought it from the French Confederation. Blasted at the time by Castillo, calling it a disgrace that the European nations are still trading and bidding on South American soil, a blockade was enforced to prevent the eventual Italian take-over. After an agreement in the North American Federation, known as the Treaty of St. Louis, the Italian Military forces were downsized, but not to the liking of the South American and Caribbean people's. Since this recent liberation, the island has now been re-named to the Federation of Nativist Islands, under the protection of the Bolivarian Republic of Puertollano. Visas have already been given to all Puertollanoan citizens to permanently move to the island, an assertion that safety and stability has returned. After giving the land back to the people of the Federation and of the Caribbean, Italy's fervent manipulator, the Austro-Danubian 'Empire' attempted to stage a counter-attack. Thanks to the actions of the new Magellan Republic, pleading for European interference in South American affairs, a fleet of the ADE was prepared to launch an invasion against the anti-colonialists of Puertollano. The disgraceful attempt at an invasion of the Galapagos Islands, a world heritage site and important scientific wonder of the world is telling of their 17th Century Foreign Policy. Again, Europe refuses to acknowledge the sovereignty of the South American people, but will only respect South American sovereignty when it suits their interests. Their invasion was pulled back in a white-flag surrender. The Austro-Danubian Empire reverted their flimsy attempt at annexation in turn for Puertollano not destroying their military parameters given to them by the Magellan Puppets. It is apparent that, in the midst of the illegal Polish War, anti-imperialism has won again.

The Election has begun
Campaign begins

The election has begun, Prime Minister Akbar took a trip to an industrial park to meet with the SDU's traditional constituencies, industrial, unionized workers. They received him with enthusiasm, as in many places, the recent prosperity holds strong, and have reap the benefits of Akbar's reform. He's hoping if they turn out and along with middle class and minority SDU voters, they will cruise to a swift victory. PM Akbar is concerned about low enthusiasm, as the election has been met with apathy by many. And radical parties, typically Islamists, gather more enthusiasm. Saeed Jalili meet with clerics today, looking to gather them to preach in favor of them in today's prayer services. Jamsheed Zartosht visited a suburban community in Tehran, trying to sway middle class voters who were strong PP constituencies, now are contested by Akbar's SDU. Khaliq Harun visited Tehran's University, hoping to sway non religious student voters who typically favor the SDU. It seems the Akbar is trying to consolidate his voter base, hoping to get as high turnout as possible, while the Islamists are seeking high turnout as well. It's all about turnout, but it looks like opposition parties will divide the anti SDU vote, as they are in disagreement as well. But nothing is assured for PM Akbar, and polls are showing him way up, but possibly losing a few seats. Akbar seeks to perhaps lower expectations, but maintain his large majority.
Here is an average of the polls
Social Democratic Union (Davud Akbar): 39%
United Islamist Coalition (Saeed Jalili): 24%
People's Party (Jamsheed Zartosht): 23%
New Democracy (Khaliq Harun): 14%

SDU maintains a massive lead, and it seems highly unlike they would lose their majority, it seems Akbar seeks a renewed mandate to deal with current crises.

The Empire Goes to “War”

For quite some time, the two constituent members of the United Roman Triumvirate; the Austro-Danubian Empire and the Italian Republic, have been in a state of war with Calindelo, now known as the Calin Republic. While the Fregantese government remained silent, here is the list of important events regarding the subject:

1) A series of protests against the authoritarian rule of the former president took place in Bratislava, and an armed militia named “FFCE” came to be.

2) The protests were supressed, leading to a harsh criticism of the Calin government by the European community. The Empire becomes interested in the issue at this point. The Calin population of Athens was reported “to be in a state of misery and anger”.

3) As the protector of all Danubian peoples, the Austro-Danubian Empire, along with the Germanic Union, declared war on Calindelo, and Austro-Danubian Army surrounded Bratislava. The legitimacy of the Austro-Danubian was confirmed by the other URT constituent states.

4) The Italian Republic nominally declared war. The Empire provided rocket launchers to its Austro-Danubian counterpart.

5) Now: The Calin President resignes, the Calin Republic is declared, armed conflict continues.

In order to honour the URT cause on the issue, the Empire officially declared war on the Calin Republic. The government ensured that no direct military action will take place, but there will be a material aid to the Austro-Danubians.

The Magellan Republic Officially Recognised, the Magellan Entry to the MCG Now Official

The Magellan Republic, a former SFR of the notorious FSR, declared independence and has been negotiating with various countries about various subjects. One of these subjects was the official inclusion of the Magellan Republic, to the Mediterranean Commerce Guild, a URT based commerce organisation.

The Empire, along with the entirety of the URT, recognised the young state into nationhood and undiscutable sovereignty. Official relations are established between the young republic and The URT. As of now, the economical prosperity and stability of this new nation and friend is an important issue for the Triumvirate. The Magellan raw resources must find its customers in new markets, as the nature of the future commerce with the rest of the FSR is still unknown and unpredictable. The URT will become a prime importer of the Magellan resources, and will provide these resources access to its markets via the MCG.

Through these plans, the Magellan economy is hoped to avoid a major crisis, and the URT (and hopefully, by extension, Europe) has certainly found a valuable trade partner and a beneficial associate. May these relations last long.

A Peculiar Thing in Preveza

With the new expansion project for the city is underway, many people across the nation came to the city, looking for jobs and many other opportunities. Over the course of a month, the city’s population doubled, and the urbain are saw a massive expansion.

The city life changed, many new places opened up, and the city became more lively. As one local put it: “The city evolved”. There was a new Preveza, a new metropolis in making.

However these optimistic dreams were cut short, when an individual was found frozen to death at the city centre at 14:00 (the day’s hottest hour) under the effect of a temperature at a value of 27°C. This shocking, horrifying and yet intriguing happening had no explanation. According to the camera records, the body just appeared in a frozen state at 14:00. The possibility that the records were changed is in consideration.

The even weirder thing is that nobody really noticed the rather peculiar appearance of the corpse. According to one eye witness the body “was, for a time, like a natural part of the square, not attracting any sort of attention, then it became very obvious and ‘visible’ at 02:00 pm”. At first, the notorious Fregantese attitude of “minding only oneself’s business and nothing else” seems to be the case, but the entire square didn’t notice the appearance of the corpse, and only three minutes after, the first reaction came.

Many questions are being asked about this corpse, which was identified to be Haussmann Farouln, a Salonican who settled in Preveza about two months ago. How was his body able to freeze at 27°C? How did he end up being frozen? An investigation by the local police was interrupted by the orders of the Ministry of Interior, and a special team of investigators were sent.

The Election has BEGUN
Saeed Jalili Allies with Hardliners

Saeed Jalili meet today with a meeting of the Knights of the Islamic Revolution, an extremist political group that has been agitating against the current government. In his speech, he defined his party as a far right ultra religious party. He said ton the group of men with lengthy beards and religious banners.

"Yes, we are all reactionaries, and you are enlightened individuals. The socialist atheist we have in power know wants us to jump ahead 1400 years to a world without God, without families, without Islam. A world run by Western Secularism. They, who want freedom, freedom for everything, the freedom of parties, you who want all the freedoms, the intellectuals: freedom that will corrupt our youth, freedom that will pave the way for the oppressor, freedom that will drag our nation to the bottom."

These radicals who had previously booed him for insufficient conservatism applauded his move, Jalili apparently has left moderate conservatives to the People's Party, and has turned to the radical right to get the Muslim base of Iran, still very much there, to turn out in massive numbers. However, Iran has changed, Persia has changed since 1979. There is a large middle class, less fanaticism, his lurch to the right may well succeed in gaining seats, maybe force a hung Parliament, or it may well destroy his party or force it to face serious questions once again.

Here is the current average of polls.

Social Democratic Union (Davud Akbar): 39%
People's Party (Jamsheed Zartosht): 24%
United Islamist Coalition (Saeed Jalili): 22%
New Democracy (Khaliq Harun): 15%

The Prime Minister's Official Portrait
Akbar emphasizes progress and development

Prime Minister Akbar went from Mashhad to Tabriz, across the country, emphasizing the rebuilding the SDU government has overseen. He spoke to a large crowd of diverse people, emphasizing the staggering statistics he claimed. GDP tripling since the fall of PGU, GDP per Capita tripling since the fall of the PGU, immense economic progress, and the new railroad, which has already created 1,000 jobs in Tabriz. He received an immense crowd, and polling has indicated the areas where the new railroad runs through have seen an average of +4% for the SDU. Akbar seems confident of victory, with reason, but he has bombarded the airwaves. He broadcasted an ad put to this music, where he emphasizes those statistics, and comments on the cages in everyday lives, the rising middle class incomes, workers living decent lives and able to progress. Wages up, and a fairer economy in his views. Will voters agree?
Social Democratic Union (Davud Akbar): 39.5%
United Islamist Coalition (Saeed Jalili): 23.5%
People's Party (Jamsheed Zartosht): 23%
New Democracy (Khaliq Harun): 14%

Magellan Citizen beaten to death in Lagos as tensions over recent FSR split rise

While the Nigeria Civil War still rages, the NSRA has faded from the news as elections are currently being set up to fullfill CSN demands. However, today the country has found itself once again in spotlight and once again for the death of a foreign citizen. This time however, the details are unclear. Recently the country of Magellan left the FSR, causing a rise in tensions around South America and in the world. It seems that tension has spread to Nigeria as a Magellan Aid worker was killed when he was beat to death by three NSRA citizens. The incident was captured on video, showing two men argueing and a brawl suddenly breaking out as two other men joined the fray.

In it, you can hear one of the men scream "Traitor! Traitor! Capitalist Pig!" as they get who is presumed to be the Magellan citizen on the ground. Lagos police quickly arrived and arrested the three men, while the Magellan citizen was immediately brought to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from brain trauma. This incident also high lights that the NSRA still has not charged anyone with a the past death of an Italian citizen or the war crimes committed by various NSRA army members at the on set of the war.

The CSN News team reached out for comment on these cases but the NSRA has said it will be sometime before anything is made available to the public.

Although having only one dockyard, TransGen Greece will be able to build ships having a TEU of 100k or bigger
THESSALONIKI - A new shipyard of TransGen Inc will soon be opening in Europe, specifically in the United Roman Triumvirate nation of the Fregantes Empire. The lone shipyard will be put under the subsidiary name of TransGen Greece. The shipyard have a single dockyard, however it will be able to build large 100,000 TEU cargo and bulk ships, best suited to the European market which has most of the world's demands for huge low cost shipping since the European continent is host to many trade organizations and agreements.TransGen Greece is still expected to be increased to 2 more dockyards in order to catch up with the market demand. The shipyard will hire 1000 employees and another 400 contractuals for the shipyard with an additional 1250 if 2 more expected shipyards are to be finalized for opening operations. The dockyard is expected to bring $1.80B profits.

TransGen Greece is the 3rd European subsidiary of TransGen, the company already having several dockyards churning out ships in Ukraine and Bulgaria, notably Krasna Kosa and Varna. However the opening of a port in a URT country comes as a surprise since the URT is technically at war with an Australian CIS of Calindelo. However the CEO of TransGen, Josiah Jayson, has said that the international politics is not their agenda and that TransGen will operate normally as it is a public corporation with investments from several thousand investors, about 7% of the company is owned by European individuals, firms or other corporations, which takes a significant portion of the 24% of total stocks owned by foreigners.

TransGen is still seeking various partnerships and agreements with several national government in the strive to expand its operations in Europe and the Mediterranean.

Australian Operation in East Timor

An Australian soldier talks with East Timorese children during Enduring Freedom
TIMOR- Australia's Operation Enduring Freedom to East Timor finally reaches its full strength of 5,500 soldiers and another 3,400 Support Combat Personnel (Scops). Enduring Freedom has already been ongoing for 3 weeks, coming after the horrendous attack of local rebel groups called the Liberal Movement Party that left hundreds of Timorese asylum seekers and 51 Australians dead. The operation's objective is to secure and help stabilize the East Timorese government through detaining LMP insurgents as well as helping government forces secure areas where local warlords have risen up to take for their own while simultaneously helping East Timor communities with relief goods, free medical aid and helping spread the idea that Australia will help East Timor in its darkest hours.

The Australian government has expressed that Enduring Freedom will not be a military operation but will be a humanitarian mission that will help East Timor be able to revert back to its former normal situation as well as help local government agencies to once again be able to function and operate without security threats.

However, there are several sources that are stating that the Australian military will be staying in East Timor for a long period of time in order to subdue LMP figures which the Australian government sees as 'terrorists'. The presence of naval ships as well as several AH-17 attack helicopters also serves to give the message that Australia might be showing off its policing power on this area of the Pacific.

AusGroup Fund announced that its total assets across the world have reached a whooping $855 billion dollars from buildings, market value of subsidiaries, real estates, leases, corporate shares, investments and several more. Another $274 billion dollars were garnered from AusGroup's total investment funds which finally put the company's total wealth fund at over $1 Trillion dollars.

The group recently opened several franchises, investment projectsm plants and development facilities in Europe, helping the opening of hundreds of Chinese startups as well as increasing the total real estate share in the South Pacific Islands for tourism. The group is eyeing to reach the $1.5 Trillion mark by the end of the year as AusGroup seeks to consolidate major assets such as real estate and communications in cities in Europe and the expansion into Africa through construction and transportation projects.

The disclosing of the AusGroup Fund's huge fund served as a magnet for more investors putting their money on the AusGoup Fund for it to grow.

Australian Investments hit China once again
April 28 | Roger Peterson

Image
A multi-billion dollar Australian-Chinese project will see billions of water transferred across from South China to North China
BEIJING, CHINA- Australia finally got the thumbs up from the Chinese government for Australian investors and companies to build 2 major projects in China that will serve to help bring the huge country's poorer interior regions come into contact with the coastal cities' rapid development growth brought about by huge Australian investments. These will be a huge water transfer system called the South-North Water Diversion Project.Chinese State Construction corporation will help in the construction of the pipelines that will have 4 routes.

The Australian-Chinese project will cost $56 billion, with Australian based companies and individuals accounting for 75% of the investments The project would divert 44.8 billion cubic meters of water per year from the Yangtze River in southern China to the Yellow River Basin in arid northern China. It will also displace hundreds of thousands of people. An estimated 330,000 people were recently being relocated for the expansion of the Danjiangkou reservoir, which marks the beginning of the project's middle route. While the resettlement program included some improvements over the Three Gorges Project, some resistance was met, however various local aid was given in order to help them.

The project is being built in an attempt to curb the over-withdrawal of groundwater and supply more water to industry, cities, and China's breadbasket in the north. The government plans to complete the Eastern and Central Routes by 2019/20 and the hard Western Route by 2021. Climate change, water pollution, and frequent droughts are exerting huge pressures on major northern cities such as Beijing and Tianjin. After finishing construction an AusGroup-Chinese dual ownership firm will be established to manage the pipelines and pumping stations with the idea of becoming a public corporation in the next few years to invite more investors to help pay back the huge cost of the project which will become very profitable as water is an important commodity.

The water pipelines, pumping stations and flow stations would need to hire more than 6,000 to 15,000 workers depending on the rate of completion and successive developmental stages.

Another major project is an interconnected railway system that will connect major coastal cities with those in the interior regions where huge numbers of human resources would be very beneficial to China's rapid economic growth. Almost nearly all of east and southeastern china is already home to millions worth of trade volume with Australia as tons of minerals, electronics, cars and agricultural products land in China from Australia and in return hundreds of cargo boxes full of consumer goods are sent back to Australia. The opening of such interconnected projects will help bring China even closer to each other and the fast and easy delivery and selling of goods to and fro the country as well as the more cooperative increase in potential markets for Australian projects.

As Australian involvement intensifies, RHIB boats will become even more common
CANBERRA- With the CSN's election of a new speaker, the hope of increasing the CSN limit troop count has finally been made by the new speaker, asking the CSN to increase it from 25,000 to 90,000 men.

The country currently has over 23,000 troops stationed in Nigeria, however about 40 soldiers have been killed and 140 soldiers wounded with about 30 soldiers sent back at critical conditions. Public opinion on the war is still relatively high, however due to several simultaneous foreign incidents such as the Polish Crisis and the recent Dili attacks, many groups are stating that Australia should have a foreign policy that focuses on securing its nearby neighbors from violent rebel takeovers and that Nigeria is a waste of time and lives.

The Legislature House still supports the Nigerian cause since because of it the country has finally helped establish a functioning state in Nigeria under the Nigerian Socialist Republic. Although a recent event had recently put the country's support on the thread, the government is still taking a strong stance on supporting the small growing state, as the Federation of Socialist Republic is doing.

Because of this, the Legislature House is focused on stopping the spread of the HNA which horrifyingly crucified 3 Australians by sending another contingent of 30,000 soldiers and 20,000 Scops to the already 23,000 and 40,000 strong Australian CSN contingent. This mobilization of troops caused several bad and good criticisms, however the first deployment of troops would begin by the 29th of April with 2,500 troops being transported via sea with full strength estimated to be reached at end of May. The additional troops are said to just in time for a new CSN offensive.

People's Party Pivots to Australia

With rumors that Australian political and business leaders have approached the Persian Government with plans to extend a massive road network into Persia from China and the USSR, Jamsheed Zartosht has gone on the offensive. Rumors came out that PM Akbar has put off the proposal, at least for now. The People's Party ran an ad in Mashhad, Baghdad, Tehran, Basra, Tabriz, Isfahan, and Mosul. It shows Jamsheed Zarosht saying the potential economic benefits on the project, of transport and job creation, and the killing line is when he says that this can rectify SDU mismanagement, and he sharply criticizes the Akbar Government for "a knowing or unknowing lapse of judgement." A spokesperson for the Cabinet said that negotiations were ongoing, but said PM Akbar was not ready to engage, without knowing specifics of cost, or whether it will uphold the rights of workers in Persia. Jamsheed Zartosht visited Mosul today, where he rallied with the only People's Party MP in Northern Iraq, Najib Mubin. He spoke about the effects of what he described as "The SDU's inability to run a modern economy." He visited a factory before leaving to visit Tabriz. Experts have characterized the election as a likely SDU win, but things could change.

So-called "Anti-Fascists" attempt riot in Milan- Mowed down by police cavalry

Today a group of so-called "Anti-Fascists" attempted to stage a violent riot in a low-income residential suburb of Milan to protest against what they claimed to be "The big conspiracy"; that Europe and the west is in fact a fascist block who have simply brainwashed the public into believing that they are what society should be through control of the media. These ludicrous allegations by the obviously deranged group, which many politicians have labelled as 'a violent cult', have absolutely no substance and are just the views of a small radical minority who "belong in the looney bin" as stated by the president herself.

As the protest began to become more violent, with protestors smashing windows and cars parked in the streets and shooting fireworks at police officers, the Milan Municipal Police decided to request cavalry units to the scene. As the column of horses travelled down the street containing the protestors they broke their line and spread out to the width of the street, before riot police where rapidly ordered to disperse to the side of the street and the cavalry charged into the crowd, crushing and injuring several people who did not run or disperse. The protestors where shook to the bone, the municipal police riot officers took this opportunity to charge into the confused and dispersed crowd, beating anyone who didn't leave the area to the ground and arresting them.

Ambulances where on scene the entire time to treat the wounded, including several police officers and one horse. Wounded protestors were then given fines and orders to appear in court where they will be sued for wasting police and paramedics time.

Amateur footage of the charge was recorded by bystanders: Image

Riot police also used tear gas to help disperse the crowd: Image

"THE UKRAINE ONE THE MOVE"

Pime MinisterJoseph Lenin begins one of his projects to improve Ukrainian living standards and has actively worked with both parties to come up with a new policy.
The 'Ukrainian Family Act' has been passed after president Robert Maxey signed forward the bill it has many parts that aim towards preserving the eastern culture and deter the west from pervesing the Ukrainian family as well as rewarding married couples to encourage them to have children which is aimed towards Ukraine's decreasing population problem. It will include many benefits to Ukrainians in every province like:

• Tax cuts for married couples with children or those that are expecting
• Restrictions to be made on western television in Ukraine, have more emphasis on Eastern(USSR, SNL) television and certain channel's and networks with similar values like teleSur
• Give more freedom to Labor Unions
• 1 year maternal leave for all expecting mothers (it can be extended to 1 year and 6 months)
• Longer leave for service members who have a family (spouse and kids) at home
PM Joseph Lenin was very happy with his first victory in congress once again, Robert Maxey has not had any comments on this but the public has. Many upper class people are worried of Lenin's policies and his attempt to make Ukraine more Socialist, many have fled the nation but those loyal to the Motherland have stayed and believe that Joseph Lenin is doing what is necessary to develop a strong future generation.

In other news, the ESF along the SNL-Poland border have been asked to leave and the the border has been reinforced with many Ladvanian Intelligence Department (LID) and guard Units. The SNL issued out a statement to the EIM and France thanking them for their quick response and willingness to aid a nation in need.

The level Nationalism has risen in the past months including within the province of Moldova most likely due to the wealth the SNL has brought to the region. For example, Krasna Kosa has been the most ambitious project for the SNL and it is aimed towards helping the Moldovan province and its Ladvanians. More towns across the SNL have formed Militias and recruitment within the military and LID have increased as well.

In other news, the SNL has placed Poland as a CRITICAL state in the travel index, discouraging citizens from traveling to the country. Dispite the status, many volunteers have gone to poland to volunteer and join the fight. Many service members disagree withthe SNLs Neutrality but the government states that neutrality is only to preserve the Ukrainian household and to prevent losing a generation. That has been the latest in SNL news, Thank You

Zackaroth finalizes Oil Pipeline deal with Sudan, British Egypt

Today, the Zackarothian Oil Agency, ZoA, announced that it had finalized a deal with Sudanese and British officals about a pipeline that will extend from British Egypt, into Sudan and then cross eventually into Somalia. This pipeline will apparently cost 4.3-4.5 Billion dollars and will be a joint effort by both ZAC/Zackaroth and Sudan. Both countries will share an equal 45% of the profits while the extra 10% will be given to British Egypt for allowing the pipeline. ZoA has stated that pipeline will work similar to the Turkey/Zackaroth/Persia Pipeline. It will allow Mediterranean and some Balkan nations easier access to both Sudanese and Zackarothian oil. For ZAC, this is a major win for the Project Mogadishu plan.

Some earlier reports quoted that the British wanted 10.00001% but this has been blamed on a mistranslated document that was publicly released about the deal.
