Company executives' salaries cut by Worker Support Act |Federal Vote passed, government funds humanitarian aid for Liberia

Presydent Rosicky requested some twelve hours ago that the federal administration contribute to a vote concerning new legislation. Meeting with them for discussion, an agreement was met. The Worker Support Act is to aid the poor in Dakav as well as other labourers all over Novask, placing a higher minimum wage for miners, most factory employees, chemical and oil refinery workers, and any metallurgists.

The government first considered this when the issue of Dakav's wealthy metal and weapon factory owners were stated as a "bleak contrast" to the state of the working fathers there, to quote a New Novask member in 2002. In addition, the argument has been made that a citizen with more money can safely pay his taxes.

Opposition argued that after some time, workers becoming stable would be eroded by taxation again anyway, negating the point of sapping company money. In addition, small businesses face risks of running bankrupt, and even larger businesses may be worn down by the expense.

The Presydent also discussed intervention in Liberia, and has help passed a vote to send humanitarian aid- within a few days, military escorts will travel alongside medical staff to help treat wounded and possibly evacuate citizens.

I would like to speak of the turmoil in Liberia, which, I hear, is being currently torn by a history of anarchy and instability. Recently, larger powers have sent troops to intervene, as a way to help restore order. I stand to condemn unnecessary destruction, but I am not here to insult. Civilians must be treated and, if needed, transported to a safe place. I propose a temporary holding for both these purposes. Troops will be needed for protection, but weapons are not to be used preemptively. Finally, I promise to travel to Liberia to show that Novask may be small, but certainly able.

The Process of Latinisation

After the "Last Parliamentary Elections", the new government changed the official language from Greek to French and "Latinised Greek". But what is this "Latinised Greek"?

It is the Greek language with the same grammar but with Latin alphabet and Latin vocabulary -mainly French-. The reason behind this transformation is very simple: Adapting to the western nations and making it easier for Greeks to learn and to use the Latin alphabet -some say that it is because of the Maxvellein Relhophen Fregantes' French and German descendance-. 'Espalsio military threat shall be taken seriously'

Recently circulating around the news has been the Espalsio remarks, aimed towards the Kalmar Union and us. The Espalsio military threat shall be taken seriously, no matter the possibly idiocy their leadership pertains. The root of these military threats seem all but unjustified, and it is but a mere stunt to become more renowned on the international stage. As much as they'd prefer to deny it, their nation is still a totalitarian monarchist state and freedom is almost in-existent. However, as stated before, we will take the regimes threat seriously so that Puertollano lives are not at danger, hence we have sent an extra military force to protect Galicia from any possible invasion by the neighbouring Iberians. We cannot disclose what exactly we have sent, but this is a warning to Espalsio that any invasion attempt will be a complete fail. We're not concerned about Orostan turning on us, especially since they've been a diligent member of the International Assembly and since we've had increased ties.

The Slavic State is no stranger to the Soviet Union. Both states are predominantly Slavic and both states fought alongside against Fascism decades ago. There are many historical connections between the two nations which cannot be denied. Raptors in French skies?

In a major surprise to all, F-22 Raptor aircraft in the colors of the French Air Force flew low over the city of Marseilles today in an impressive show of military strength. Until now, it was completely unknown to all that France had been in the process of acquiring F-22 blueprints from the North Americans for some time, and that reports of a new aircraft being built by Dassault were actually a new variant of the Raptor. The French Defense Ministry today confirmed that "Although NAF has developed more advanced models of stealth than the F-22, and despite the presence of other Fifth Generation aircraft in the Republic's inventory, the decision was made at the highest level some time ago to pursue the introduction of the Raptor." The French Opposition has criticized what they view as "unnecessarily extravagant defense spending on a new toy for the President", but have conceded that the replacement of older models of aircraft was going to have been on their agenda had they themselves won the recent election.

Completion date for Pipeline set

The completion date for the Second Stage of the DEU's 'Eurasian Pipelines' project has been set at February 4 2017, according to the French DEU Ambassador. The Second Stage will travel through Turkey, the Fregantes Empire, and the SSS, supplying Eastern Europe will large quantities of Eurasian oil. Two other stages of the pipeline have been confirmed to be under review for possible construction:

The Espalsian Minister of Culture Alejandro Morillon praised the efforts of the Fregantes state to introduce Latin alphabet. The actions taken by Espalsio's government is quite a disgrace to any foreign diplomacy within their nation. As they prepare for war, over simple comments shows quite large ignorance within the establishment of their government. Akksum will not sit idly by and watch a war break out between the two countries, as the blood shed itself isn't worth the words, or even the paper that it may be written on in the future. If Espalsio's Government really wants to make itself well known in the community, they've damn well done it but not in the best way they could of managed. If the war does break out, we will have to side with Puertollano in this situation, due to the simple fact we barely have, or have no diplomatic relations with Espalsio, and the Puertollano are quite a moderate ally with Akksum. Having been also in ties with the former king. "Which I won't mention why." And has helped out country through the times of strive, and anger that once engulfed Akksum.

New leads to Yves?

"From reporters within Chad, the Akksumian military has dispatched at most 100 special trained men to scout the region for the known Terrorist, Yves Chabert. President Leonard, prior to boarding a plane to London along with his extensive security detail, issued a statement in regards to recent events.

I urge all world leaders to show restraint in order to prevent the escalation of a simple miscommunication issue into an armed standoff. I have plans to meet with His Majesty Mario Avianni of Espalsio in Andorra after my trip to London has been completed. The President before deporting to the British Isles, came out in a press conference regarding the recent developments in Iberia:

We are living in troubled times, the last two years have been riddled with instability and wars. Non the less, the NAF will stand with Puertollano, honoring our treaties with them. If the Iberian's wish to go to war with our South American ally, they will have to go through the NAF and her army first. Take note, you have been warned Espalsio.

Despite recent trends in Puertollanoan foreign policy by denouncing many of our allies and their actions, the North American relations with it's South American neighbor still remains strong.

It's a new year, and the NAF's time of isolation is coming to an end, or maybe not, it depends really. Elections are coming up, and candidates are arising.
The NAF formed quite recently and had a very rushed election, the President in matter of fact was assigned rather than elected. Thus, it is only proper for the Grand Congress, and the Executive branch
to be "flushed out". Congress has been deadlocked between two 'factions', Isolationists and Interventionists. These factions aren't official, it's just the public grouping politicians with very common ideologies together. These elections will hopefully flush people out and end the deadlock. The elections shall conclude on March 5th.

Weapons Test

The miltary has announced that it intends to test a sub orbital Kenetic weapon later this week. The weapon will consist of a rocket, to bring it into th proposer trajectory, and a Kenetic bomb made of tungsten, the shape of a cylinder with a pointed end. The weapon will travel almost to geostationary orbit before it begins to fall down, and pilots make final corrections to its trajectory. The test will be conducted on the missile ranges formerly used for nuclear testing, and will be far less environmentally damaging. This new weapons system, codenamed "SPACE NUKE" despite its actual construction, is expected to be Orostan's cheaper, less environmentally damaging, method of producing large explosions.

New Era for Indochina

The 'Treaty of Indochina' had been the final act of the Third Indochina War in November 2016, officially ending a conflict which had dragged on for 388 days and toppled all of the Communist regimes in Indochina. There had been celebrations in the streets of Saigon, the capital of the Republic of Vietnam, which had lived in fear of being invaded by it's neighbors for 62 years since it's formation. But even in these early days of 2017, the impacts that the war has had on the people of the region are continuing to be felt. Vietnam remains the dominant nation in Indochina, with the South having prospered in the interwar years and the North having been partially industrialized by the previous government, but inequality and a sense of distrust in the North remains. Cambodia may have begun to heal on the exterior, but within the new state people remain divided and in many places in complete poverty, totally reliant upon Vietnamese food aid. And finally, Laos has only now been reunified under the new Principality following the withdrawal of the Prussian Occupation force in the Northern half of the country. Only time will tell if the withdrawal leads to a stable democratic Dominion as part of the Federation.

It is in this era of uncertainty that the Prince of Laos shall be hosting the Vietnamese and Cambodian Prime Ministers at a special summit in the Lao 'royal capital' of Luang Phabang to discuss the economic and humanitarian development plan for the French Indochinese Federation in 2017. A peace deal with the last Communist holdouts near the border with Thailand is also to be debated.

Ladvania Head of Education Henry Marchs Arrived at Athens!

Today the Senate and the Great Consul officially welcomed the Ladvanian Head of Education Henry Marchs. His plane landed at the Athens International Airport at 09:30 UTC+2

After the negotiations and some formalities, a conclusion was reached. At 18:45, the treaty was signed. Ladvania and Fregantes Empire officially created the "International Union of Education".
A public announcement was made by the Speaker of the Senate, Acallia Pandaros, stating that the union's ambition is to improve the quality of the education of both of the nations and encourage studying abroad in each other's educational institutions.

Israel got rid of its last pig today at 8:45 am Moscow Time Zone. Now there officially no pigs on the territory of the Israeli Kingdom. Space Launches Imminent

At two sites in Algeria, Hammaguir and Reggane, and one site in French Guiana, rockets are being readied for launching satellites into orbit. Two of these are to become part of the ISNS, while the third is part of a French military project that will provide an early warning system of missile launches globally and will supplement the Metropolitan Air Defense Shield. There is great excitement surrounding the ISNS satellites in particular due to their eventual state of the art systems being made public, hopefully becoming valuable assets for all global aircraft and shipping regardless of their nationality.

Two Days Ago, the Calin government has officially launched the Recon Satellite, Overlord - 01.

After the launch, Ludwig Krall went to the center of Lodz to deliver a speech concerning the launch of the Recon Sattelite. unfortunately, a group of armed men using unidentified weapons and clothing poured tear gas around the area.

When the chemical team of the police arrived to extract the president, the team saw president Krall, with a snapped neck and a slit in the throat.
Ludwig Krall was confirmed dead on 14:51.
The armed men were never identified. Even the tear gas containers were never obtained. There were no traces left.

Ties Cut with Calindelo

After a somewhat democratic election by the Calindelan senate, Orostan has officially cut ties, including cooperation in space, with the nation. The new Calindelan president's first act in office was to arrest opposition journalists on unclear charges. The Orostani government has threatened to take the Calindelan money contributed to the Space Station, now named Kar Station after the late president of Orostan. The Orostani government is also able to nationalize any Calindelan businesses or assets within Orostan. If a fully democratic popular election is conducted, the president being determined by popular vote, is not conducted within an appropriate amount of time, Orostan will enact sanctions and nationalizations. In other news, two more modules have been launched to the space station. One of the modules was an experiment module, the other was a recreation module for the crew of the station. Orostan's first female astronaut, Maria Santos, also made it into space today to replace another astronaut who fell ill on Kar Station. Further Satellite launches have also been sent into space, including Orostan's first moon probe, Montevideo 1 which is designed to orbit the moon. New Rocket factories in Belem have also been constructed, and the sub orbital kinetic weapon idea has been shelved.

Since Calindelo's recent government change Joseph Lenin has been saddened by the death of friend Ludwig Krall. He is disappointed by the newly elected Calindelo president and his actions seen by Joseph Lenin saying
"this is not what Krall would've wanted"

Joseph Lenin even went as far to say that he has deep hatred for what may come to be in Calindelo. Joseph Lenin strongly believes it will become a totalitarian state after the arrests of Journalists exercising the freedom of speech. Lenin has not stated anything regarding a war nor militaristic actions yet.

In other news, the western Ladvanian border has been tense as the reserve guard and active duty troops mobalize near the Moldovan-Ladvanian border. Lenin has made no recent comment on these actions but the citizens of Lviv have

Dr.Gerald Palcevitski a polish historian teaching Ladvanian history in the University of Lviv has stated that "Ladvania has never attempted to take Moldova, but ever since it's independence it has desired so. Moldovans aided in the fight against the red army yet never became unifed with Ladvania, thus the desire to finally do so has always been there"

All launches put on hold

Both of the space sites in Algeria were today put under full military authority, with the rockets carrying the ISNS satellites being forbidden from launching until further notice. This has caused anger among the scientists and sponsors of the ISNS project, who have demanded that the government halt their interference or provide an explanation for the delays. However, the government and army have been unusually silent, refusing to comment other than to point out that the military satellite to be launched from French Guiana has also been delayed.

The French Representative to the DRS today called for a free election to be held in Calindelo to let the general public vote for their next President, and then hold a referendum surrounding the changing of the Calindelo name and flag. France held a referendum prior to the formation of the Sixth French Republic, and the Government believes that it is vital that the citizens of a nation must have full input into such large constitutional changes to any country. The French intelligence service has also offered their assistance to Calindelo in attempting to find those responsible for the assassination of the President.

Instead of suffering a 1 - 36 month jail sentence, they will be publicly humiliated, with the participation of the populations. The first "volunteers" for the law is the arrested journalists yesterday.

Espalsio Applauds New Calidelo Leader

His Royal Majesty Mario Avianni publicly praised the newly elected president of Calidelo. He hopes that the new leadership will be wiser than the previous one and cooperate with the Guild to bring the Espalsio-Calidelo relations to a whole new level (both names end with "o" again ). Espalsio is ready to support the new administartion financially and militarily as long as they remain a friend of the Latin Empire. His Majesty was so pleased with the auspicious event that he dedicated 10 minutes of the parliament session to express his thoughts on this:

Today, the wise people of Calidelo have made the right choice of electing a great and skillful president. I wish him success from the bottom of my heart and sincerely hope that he will be a true friend of Espalsio in Central Europe like Orostan is in South America. The people have already made a choice and another election is not necessary.

Military Base

During an official phone call with Josef Hornik, he allowed Espalsian Armed Forces to set up a military base near Gdynia. It is going to contain 5,000 Espalsian army and navy servicemen. Nothing fancy but important for defense purposes.

'Europe' rally in Paris

President Leonard today hosted a large event in the capital, where around one thousand supporters gathered to take part in a mass Q&A and celebration of the new political year. The Presidential Guards regiment were also paraded. Sadly, two protesters had to be detained after their demonstration against the acceptance of refugees in Algeria caused a small fight with pro-government supporters.

The secret facility in Greenland received the coded short-range transmission from Thule Air Base, only strong enough for those in the immediate proximity to register it, just as the target was about to move into range. Quickly, the hidden dome was opened and the French military technicians entered in the targeting details of the concealed directed-energy weapon. The minutes passed, before finally the weapon was ready. Meanwhile the target, Overlord 01, continued along it's orbital path, unaware that it was about to be attacked. Until suddenly, the fire order was given. The anti-satellite weapon fired, successfully hitting the target. Overlord 01's systems would be fried by immense heat as the laser made contact with it, 'blinding' the recon satellite. Although physically intact, the satellite would not be able to spy upon Earth until repaired. As soon as the weapon was used, the firing position of the weapon was once again hidden by ice shelves.
