Austria says no to spilt! People angered at becoming pawns
The Austrian government denied any role in the discussions between Prussia and Calendelo. The the people are protesting that their country is being used as a diplomatic pawn with them having no say. They have asked the DEU to step in.

Reconstruction in Greece

After the end of the brutal wars of the Balkans, much damage has been done. Being a responsible nation, Turkey is now spending billions of dollars in rebuilding Greece. The move comes as a part of the Turkish led reconstruction of Greece, in a bid to not only rebuild the infrastructure, but also society as Neo-Byzantine views that so completely dominated Greek politics are banned and rooted out of the government apparatus. Some partisans still roam back roads and launch surprise attacks on Turkish patrols, but overall, peace has finally come.

Rebuildings and Renewing cities and trust

Zackaroth has begun mobilizing a massive chunk of its Better Tomorrow Core, or BTC. BTC was created after the last Reigme war incase Zackaroth was forced to annex another country it had heavily destroyed. It was originally planned for Iraq but now is seeing its first use in Syria and much of its strength is focused on Damascus. Damascus was reduced to rubble after three thermobaric bombs where dropped upon the city, the inner city suffering the worst of it all. Trust still has not come between the Syrian people and the Zackarothian forces, but it has not exploded into violence yet, many fearful of another bombing should things boil over.

However, Zackaroth has begun to host refugee camps and are recruiting locals to help clear debris and begin construction of a new city. It will take years before the damage caused can be completely removed but the BTC estimates the outer city can be repaired within 3 to 6 months and the inner city, 6 months to a year. The BTC also aiding other villages and towns caught in the attacks. Since these where not heavily bombed and mostly occupied by Zackarothian and UMU forces, the BTC predicts atleast 2 months before these cities can be at the same level they where before the war and has plans to upgrade infrastructure once resources are available.

The past 12 months have been marked by political rioting, but it seems to have been finally died down as the arrests of radical leaders have been made, such as Tomas Partan. Police forces are "pleased and relieved" at the results, but in the wake of streets devoid of communist organizers, a few reports of lynching have come through as people wish to avenge casualties caused by radicals.

Presydent Karnik (pictured) spoke about this in his address to the nation earlier in the month, wishing "luck for those who deserve it, and apt punishment for those who do not. I hope this incident will be a warning to those who would commit such crimes again in this great country."

In the address, the President also mentioned that "Novask must unify more land under the name of peace and growth," not desiring "conflict with any of our neighbours," aiming to successfully trade on a large scale.

Regarding growth and trade, the civilian engineering companies are clashing against the weaponry giants; West Front Arms and Blackguard Military Services, who have provided most of military equipment for the nation, but have been reaching into civilian applications, competing with existing companies.

Stolat Aeronautics and the Federal Automotive Company, stable leaders of engineering developments, have experienced a sudden loss in staff as apprenticeships were offered by the army suppliers. The Novask Market Index value of these companies has decreased, with the biggest change at 7%.

MIO Chairman reports possible invasion

Intelligence services have picked up alleged "plans of attack" on the Federation. Sources, which will not be disclosed, failed to provide the attackers or the date of invasion.

The Federal Armed Forces have begun aerial and ground patrols, preparing evacuation centres for civilians, and are expecting foreign troops to assist in setting up defensive positions.

"We have a well-trained army with knowledge of the geography. Any attackers will not catch us off-guard- military services are working at maximum effort," assured 1st Front General Daniel Ambroz, commanding mechanized and anti-air corps.

Civilians are advised to remain calm and follow any state-issued orders. Children will not need separation from families.

British Forces Support Novask
The possible invasion as reported by Novask representatives has been responded to by British forces in the British Isles.
Figures in charge of the Sturmtruppen squadrons in Eastern European operations have reported that any military action towards Novask will not be ignored, as a trade partner of the Empire.

In other news - due to a gloomy energy crisis, thanks to Sweden the waste to energy scheme has been allowed to build plants all across the Empire. These plants will be administrated by British forces after construction, however all profits after upkeep costs will be paid to Swedish companies - however these costs are likely to be low due to offers of subsidised construction.
This will result in a possible total green energy reliance and a closer relationship with Sweden, as well as a no oil import plan for 2017.
Not only will unemployment levels tank across the Empire, but the epidemic waste problem in India is expected to dwindle.

Astronauts Return

Joseph Barnier and Clémence Saunier of the French Space Agency today returned to Metropolitan France after completing their second landing on the Moon, while Alexander Gerst and Thomas Reiter from Prussia also completed their first lunar mission. The return module landed in the North Atlantic not far from Algeria, where the French Navy awaited their arrival. A final mission this year is already in the works, with planned international participation. Invitations are extended to EotUK, NAF, Puertollano, the KU, the USSR, and SNL to send one astronaut to take part in the mission to the Moon.

The ladvanian astronomy science department has paid much attention to the recent invitation to a mission on the moon. The top scientists have already been bugging the Joseph Lenin to expand funding, and with the invitation coming from France they hope Lenin will look their way. For this to be done congress must approve as well, but we believe this will not be a problem as the majority party is the NLE.

The Israeli Council of Wisemen declared conscription to be mandatory for capable males of the Kingdom. The move was made to protect the godly Kingdom from immoral groups which have the potential to undermine the foundation of the state.

Ladvania and Zackaroth agreed to accept the migrants from the Kingdom of Israel. This move of theirs was very commended by the Council who did not exclude a possibility of a great partnership in the near future. One of the PMs, Harun Mosakhel, even suggested a grand opening of the Ladvanian Cultural Museum in Ariha city.

North Atlantic moved to Liberia!

Today the North Atlantic division 1 fleet received orders to travel to international waters outside of Liberia. The fleet was currently docked in port Hamburg receiving munitions, when the Nachzehrer Special Forces Division walked up with orders from the Kaiser to move to international waters around 18:00 Central European time.

However the orders given by the Kaiser are still unknown, but many predict this will be yet another war for Prussia.....

Strasbourg Accords signed

The Sixth French Republic and Second Prussian Empire today signed a series of accords in the city of Strasbourg, aimed at greatly increasing the level of bilateral cooperation between the two great nations in 2017 and beyond. President Leonard has hailed it as being "As significant as the Élysée Treaty or formation of the European Federation." The Accords addressed three main sectors: Economic, Military, and National Affairs. Although much of the Accords is yet to be made public, the two nation's large shareholdings in Airbus were today placed into a single parent company owned by France and Prussia. In addition, German language schooling is receiving increased levels of funding in France, and vice versa. These are believed to be the first public signs of the Accords being implemented, but until more of the text is released the world can only speculate.

Pilgrimage to the Holy House.

Thousands of Israel's citizens are getting prepared for annual government-sponsored pilgrimage to the Sacred Sanctuary in Jerusalem, the Holy Land. The people promise to abstain from technology and social media and focus on worshiping their Creator on the Temple Mount. Israelis hope that God the Lord will return them to the state they were born in after the pilgrimage (i.e. sinless). The King Abraham ben Yusuf said he hopes that Jerusalem will become part of the godly Kingdom in the near future.

IN OR OUT?
After the most recent conflict taken place in Liberia many European nations have stepped in to take action to support France.
Many have speculated that the SNL will take action to help the ally in the African campaign, but in recent polls the citizens of the SNL are split down the middle on the war, close to half support entry while another close to half does not agree with further actions while a small part says we should support financially.
Joseph Lenin still has not said anything regarding the issue so not much is known whether Ladvanian intervention will be a thing in the near future.
If so a vote will be held in the legislative body to approve or deny entry in the Liberian war.

The Kingdom of Israel has designated the group of Scientology as "misguided cult which is dangerous to the society." Thus, Scientologists are considered "dangerous elements" in the Kingdom of Israel. Police departments and the paramilitary volunteers are stepping up in efforts to halt Scientology and buy their places of religious gathering from the group converting them to factories and stores to improve the economy.

Zackaroth miffed at new immigrants. Government sending some back

The High Leader took a blow on the international stage today as the immigrants taken from the new nation calling its self the Northern Kingdom of Israel, turned to out to be those criminals the country was looking to unload. This led to a massive public uproar and is considered an embarrassment on what has been a solid first term for the High Leader. The High Leader has promised each immigrant will be inspected and processed through an intense background check. Those who are unsuited for Zackaroth will be sent back to the Northern Kingdom.

This has reportedly also caused Zackaroth to drop a considered arms deal with the nation, as well as discussion to put the country on a limited trading list as they cannot be trusted.

After Zakaroth's most recent actions the SNL has taken an even more serious security measure with the 20,000 immigrants from the Northern Kingdom of Israel permitted to enter the SNLs borders. Investigations and background check have been extended amongst men preferably.

After France's most recent mission into space and invitation of other nations to join in the final mission the Soviet Council have found it in their best interest to join this last mission and join their comrades in arms and feather to the reaches of the final frontier.

North Israel: To be or Not?
Historically the USSR was one of the first states to recognize the created state of Israel which it would later show little support for. The Soviet Council had recently proposed the idea of establishing formal relations. But after what is termed by the council as "religious-zealousness" in terms their prosecution of of scientologist and their recent scandals in other allied countries such as Turkey and SNL, the USSR has decided in the best interest of the country that any formal recognition or support is to be halted.

After many years of dead cold relations between the USSR and The SNL, the President this morning during a press conference organized by congress discussing several things involving the nation has opened up a discussion saying

"Maybe it's time to open up to those with different ideals, and types of government that brings back horrid distant memories. Maybe it would not be so bad to open up an agenda with the newly reformed USSR and potentially start a new beginning"

Joseph Lenin was not so sure if Ladvanians should spend such money on the project but then was assured that it would only consist of sending an astronaut through the France space program, after this Joseph Lenin said he will look into it.
Even if action is approved the SNL will have to conduct a series of tests and evaluations to choose a candidate, and the Vice president has stated that "we would not know where to start looking"

A swift vote was held between congress and the president before the meeting to decide on the intervention of the Liberian-French War, Ladvania has voted NO on entering the conflict, but if any European soil is to be attacked Ladvania will undoubtedly enter the war in Africa.

French Elections

The Metropolitan France election campaign is heating up. Today, the major political parties concluded their final official debate.

Republic Party: Currently holding a large majority in the Sixth Republic parliament, the Republic Party has been in power for several years now. The leadership changes at the end of 2015 gave the party a fresh face in the form of Fabien Leonard, but his policies have received a mixed response. Supports an increased role in the DEU, decreased reliance of the Overseas Dominions upon the French military, and aims for major reductions in the country's budget deficit in 2017. Believes France is both a rightful Super Power, and should continue to act as one of 'the World's Policeman'.

Conservative Party: The main opposition bloc, opposes recent reforms made by the Republic Party regarding economic policy. Believes the current government only supports liberals to win the support of the Liberty Party, it's former rival. Argues for reinstatement of some previous Fifth Republic ideals. Mildly Eurosceptic, however would remain a DEU member and continue most current French treaty commitments if elected. Advocates for increased military spending, while also increasing the economic dependence of Overseas Dominions upon France.

Liberty Party: The third largest party in Metropolitan France, which had previously been the main opposition party until the Republic Party gained more support. Opted to work alongside the new government of the Sixth Republic in a coalition of liberals rather than remain in opposition and have to ally with the Conservatives. Supports recent proposals that French Overseas Dominions should be able to vote for the French President, does not want to strengthen or weaken the DEU from it's current position, and desires more social welfare.

Prosperity Party: Broke off from the Conservative Party before the last election, causing them to lose their majority and let the Republic Party take power. Supports large free market reform, and reduced government spending. Wishes to "reevaluate" existing trade agreements with other countries.

Continent Party: A party which strongly advocates isolationism from other continents, instead supporting increased involvement in European Affairs. Is willing to lessen strength of the government if it results in a more centralized in Europe.

So far the polls indicate that this is going to be a close election, with both the Conservatives and Republicans expected to achieve more or less the same number of votes this year. Consequently, the results of smaller parties will be the most important of this campaign.
