In an effort to curb foreign arms imports the Ministry of War in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance has authorized the increase of subsidies to the Arms Manufacturing Industry. The Ministry of War also mandates the issuing of the M 2023 Assault Rifle replacing the G36 from active service. The Iberian Government also allocates funds for the creation of 200 more modern arms factories that should provide over 13,000 jobs throughout Iberia. Foreign Made Weapons will slowly be phased out and replaced by local variants. The Target Date for the Modernization of the Equipment of the Armed Forces is 2025.

Drills in the South
Persian Military Disciplined, Swift, Decisive

The Army conducted intense drills in the south of Iran, proving again the discipline, precision, and effectiveness of the best army east of the Prime Meridian. Drills have been constant in the Persian Army, you can search through the annals of the Tehran Daily Mail to find various reports of the drills of the army. The army is in constant lockstep with the direction of the democratic government, and it is with immense pride the Persian people view the first army of the people and of Republican values in 3,000 years of Persian civilization here in the center of the earth. The army conducted drills in a mock construction of the Parliament building and surrounding city blocs, simulating a scenario in which the heart of the Republican order was under threat from a foreign enemy, which reporters observed was modeled after Turkish uniforms in the War of Turkish Aggression of years ago. The Persian Army is always ready to defend the people. PM Akbar praised the efforts of the men, and also called out Lusophone for denigrating the status of the Arabic language and embracing what Akbar called "far-right theocratic neo-fascism." Prime Minister Akbar also spent time in government factories in Mashhad.

Anglo-French intervention proves Entente remains eternal

83 years to the week that the Franco-British Union was forged in blood during the Second World War, French and British servicemen and women fight alongside each other once more. Coordinated out of a command center in the Central African Republic's capitol of Bangui, the combined effort is carried out with the goal of defending the newly-established Coalition of National Independence and Protection against attacks from tyrannical armed terror organisations operating out of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. President Philippe Noir, who recently visited the museum ship Montcalm to lead an anniversary service at the site where the provisional terms of the wartime political union were signed by Churchill and Reynaud, enthusiastically expressed the commitment of both the Seventh Republic and the wider French Confederation to uphold the historical bond and legacy the two nations continue to share to this day, and declared that "France continues to hold an eternal debt to the Entente. We will honor our pledge to them under the Triple Entente at any cost, just as they did for us in the battlefields of the World Wars in what was our Republic's darkest hour."

RUSSIAN DEPLOYMENT OF TROOPS

MOSCOW- The Soviet Union on Friday announced the deployment of 5,400 troops to Afghanistan in addition to the earlier deployments by the Old Era regime in the past, describing it as an effort to bolster defenses against extremism and to prevent the recent tensions in neighboring Iran from spilling over to Afghanistan.

Supreme Chief Dibrov described the latest deployments as defensive in nature. The 5,400 troops include personnel operating missile defense systems, aerial surveillance to spot threats and engineers to fortify defenses. It also includes few fighter jets.

Eager to avoid potential escalation with Persia amid already heightened tensions between the fellow European states, Kremlin officials stressed the defensive nature of the deployment in a news briefing and noted that none of the troops would be heading to hot spots like Congo.

EUROPE DIVIDED

KALININGRAD- The Soviet Ministry of Diplomacy published an open letter on Tuesday criticizing the policies of the Spanish president Briana Alcabu, saying they will lead to more homocides in Congo and cause division in Europe, refering to the Spanish "humanitarian aid" to the SRC.
The Ministry said Spain's efforts to cause ideological conflict throughout the EU are now "plain and clear while threatening peacekeeping efforts and violating the European unity by indirectly supporting the FSR in Africa."

Right now, the Soviet Union is in talks with the French government to allow the use of Central African Airports by the Soviet Air Forces to conduct airstrikes on the FSR-backed SRC group to prevent further conflict and violence in Congo, which is planned to begin in the coming days.

TBILISI-Kremlin also expressed its concern and condemnation of the recent reforms by Portugal, which it calls "forcing Christianity upon the masses." Leaders of the Orthodox Church, which is the biggest Christian denomination in Russia, have expressed fear that such policies will create unrest and division among the people of Portugal and the teachings of Christ would only condemn such practices.
The Soviet Union has placed sanctions on the key proponents of the new rule as well as certain companies of Portugal as a protest to the practices which undermine unity and European values.

Galicia-Iberia Summit

The Socialist Republic of Galicia and the Spanish government are to meet in Santiago de Compestela for a around of bilateral talks. Premier Santos invited the leader of the Spanish Republic to discuss all things, but mostly about the future of the Iberian Peninsula. It is predicted that the two leaders will contemplate on re-uniting as one country during the Summit, but it is unknown how far these negotiations will go. The Premier of Galicia, who is particularly buoyed after his election mandate, is apparently looking forward to talking to his Spanish counterpart. This represents a strong turn to the left in Iberia, but also Europe. For the longest period of time, Galicia stood as the only leftist nation in Europe, oftentimes threatened with war and destruction. But now, with a new government in Spain, Galicia is looking to open its horizons and cooperating with the new left in Europe. Premier Santos is also looking forward to meeting the President of Lusophone, despite the controversies that might surround her. Santos said to the media that: "Palverio is an interesting figure, and Galicia will be happy to work towards better and stronger relations with Lusophone. When we meet I would like to question her on her allegiance to the Germanic Union. They have formed one agreement especially that is very anti-Galician, and I would like to have a conversation with her about that."

An exclusive interview with newly elected Prime Minister Suzuha Itai, BBS Correspondent Han Min-Sook will take the floor, and ask the Prime Minister about her vision for the country, and her approach to the world

(Note: H is the designation for Correspondent Han, PM is the designation for Prime Minister Suzuha)

H: “Prime Minister, thank you for your time, and congratulations on winning the elections.”

PM: “Thank you very much Correspondent Han. I would do my best to answer your questions. Please forgive me if I do anything wrong.”

H “Thank you Prime Minister. So first off, I would like to ask. What do you think of the Orostani Railway Corruption Scandal, that tore the nation apart from top to bottom a few months ago?”

PM: “Of course, it was a tragic case. The Mikado of that time let the government have a free reign, despite His office being a constitutional failsafe. This result the Suguhara Administration to technically turn into a dictatorship, and caused the country to be plagued with Police Corruption, Assassinations regarding political cases and people related to politics. The Orostan Railway Scandal is one of the few examples of it. My administration will try to rectify the wrongs done to individuals and groups both at home and abroad.”

H: “What do you think of Japan’s coldness towards Bengal?”

PM: “Japan has always been a country that pushes its ideals on everyone, both at their own people, as well as outsiders. However, they have failed to force it upon us, because our ancestors left their country and their occupied territories (Korea and Manchuria), and made a better life for us over here in Bengal. Despite us being a significant force in regional affairs, they view us as inferior to them, rather than as an equally powerful state in terms of economics and influence. Personally, I don’t think that modern Bengalis view Japan as an enemy like those from 40 or 50 years ago, however, the mindset of Japanese people of viewing us as traitors may be unchanged.

H: “What does the Prime Minister think of the conflict in Africa, and how will Bengal react to it?”

PM: “The conflict in Africa is obviously tragic. Countries and families being torn apart. Children being sent to the battlefield and deprived from a better future. All of this in the name of ideologies. This is wrong. However, to honor our commitment to the French-Bengali Security Treaty, we will send a few personnel, namely 2 fighter squadron and 1 transport aircraft to the country. We won’t take part in any direct fighting.”

A message from the President of the Iberian Federation and Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the CNT - FAI.

Image
A Snippet from the live broadcast across the nation

To The Iberian People in the nation and to the Iberian People abroad, rejoice! The Nation of Iberia rises! Your homeland that was riddled with corruption not more than 3 years ago is corrupt no more. Your Economy that was weakening and ailing is now as strong as ever. It is a great time to rejoice not only for us but to all the 7 sister republics of our great federation. My State Visit to Lusophone was a stepping stone in relations with our Iberian Sibling, as the bigger sister we take responsibility to support our sibling like family. In terms of Economic Stability, I myself allocated funds for the creation of more Infrastructure Projects throughout the nation. Thousands of Modern Schools to be built, thousands of modern hospitals and modern housing for the poor. This would create more jobs for the unemployed and they would take part in this golden era of infrastructure. My recent decision to give humanitarian aid to the Congo and the DRC was met with criticism from foreign powers such as the Soviet Union. I will say that Iberia is committed to peace in Europe and Africa and is heavily staying out from European - South American proxy conflicts. The Humanitarian aid will be unbiased and will be given out to everyone from all sides possible. I hope all of you would be fruitful throughout the rest of my presidency. I salute to you the hard working mother and the common worker for yours is the fruit of your labor. Viva Iberia, Viva La FAI y la CNT!

La Suisse to Megl Rasnal
From a democratic confederacy to a reborn empire in a year
by Arnold Schwartz, 4 min read
Image
Emperor Gabbriel I during his inauguration as the president of Switzerland

Just a year ago, Switzerland was considered a quiet nation that has managed to remain politically neutral despite the political turmoil of the nations around it. It was best known for cheese, chocolate, watches, and banks. Today, however, Switzerland is on the first pages of all major newspapers but for a very different reason. World leaders have expressed shock and sincere confusion as president Gabbriel Vvestri, elected just 2 months ago, proclaimed an empire and changed the country's name to Megl Rasnal. While the world scratched their heads, it was nothing surprising to Swiss people. Even as some took their frustrations over the reforms to the streets, the overwhelming majority of us got on with our lives as usual. To answer how we got here, the answer is longer, though.

June 12, 2015
In a small German canton of Uri, the governing Christian Democratic People's Party (CDP) is defeated by the Swiss People's Party (SVP) with its new regional leader Gabbriel Vvestri. With the population of just over 36.000 people, the campaign largely focused on local issues. Exit polls showed 49% of the population choosing 'a need for change' as the most important issue, 72% of them voting for SVP. The new government is quick to implement radical reforms that, in a few years, become famous nationwide and even more popular in the canton of Uri itself.

June 8, 2019
SVP is re-elected and Uri becomes the only canton in Switzerland to have a one-party majority as Vvestri's approval rating soars to 62%. Despite that, the campaign itself was controversial, with Uri's SVP publically supporting replacing the system of 1-year-presidency, which has been used in Switzerland for years, with a separately elected position of the president for 4 years. Those comments were heavily criticized by almost every politician in the country, but the SVP officials stood by them, saying that reforms enacted in the past 4 years could have been enacted a lot better if there was one person presiding over the canton for the whole term of the legislature.

December 13, 2020
An astonishing discovery is made in the town of Altdorf, Uri. While renovating a local library, workers have stumbled upon several volumes of Tyrrenikà, as well as a portrait of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Tyrrenikà - written by the last person known to have been able to read Etruscan, Roman emperor Claudius, is key to understanding the ancient language. While linguists were zealously starting to translate the language, Vvestri made a surprising announcement. Gabbriel, who was interested in Etruscan culture for a long time already, issued an executive order stating that Uri is the successor of the Etruscan civilization. The order made Etruscan the official language of Uri and changed the flag and coat of arms of the canton. It was quickly challenged in court and declared unconstitutional, however.

February 17, 2022
In an upset, Gabbriel Vvestri has won the nationwide SVP primaries and becomes the party's leading candidate in parliamentary elections. Vvestri managed to get a narrow plurality of 36% of the voters. The key to his victory was the divided opposition positioned against each other. Vvestri campaigned on the reforms he implemented as the leader of SVP in Uri. He was attacked for the infamous Etruscan executive order but defended it with rapidly increasing tourism figures of the region. Vvestri's SVP is expected to come first in the upcoming parliamentary elections taking place in October.

October 16, 2022
Early election results were welcomed by loud applause in SVP's headquarters as it became clear that they were on the way to become the largest party by far. Final results showed SVP at 38% nationally with liberal FDP in second place with 13%. Fueled by the election results, a popular initiative proposing to abolish the Federal Council and replace it with 1 president becomes more and more popular.

May 9, 2023
Gabbriel Vvestri becomes the first directly elected president of Switzerland. He's elected with 46% of the vote in a vote held on the same day as the referendum on creating the position itself. The referendum passed, with 62% voting in favor. During his victory speech, Vvestri tells the cheering audience he's ready to implement the reforms he oversaw in Uri nationwide. The audience, however, falls into an awkward silence when Vvestri starts talking about the Etruscan heritage of the nation.

And here we are today. With reforms bringing the much-needed change into Swiss peoples' lives but starts to erase their national identity. In the end, every citizen of our nation will have to make a choice. Will we embrace the change, or will we ditch higher living standards for our identity. Everything is in the hands of the Swiss, well, at least for now it is.

Missionaries!

Postby Segentaea » Sat May 25, 2019 6:03 pm

The Harefoot Herald

Missionaries visit Harefoot

Yesterday, July 2, Canadian Orthodox missionaries visited the coastal town of Harefoot, Meddito. The mayor of Harefoot showed the Canadians the construction of the Segen National Space Agency, the Naval Port, and the various markets across the downtown area. The mayor, Mohammed Fukiharo, has this to say about the missionaries...

"These Canadian missionaries have a simple duty. It is to spread their beliefs upon this great nation. We know that we are a nation of diverse religions, but having these foreign missionaries is a blessing, no matter the God you believe in. In order to commemorate this long time coming, we want to unveil this new church we have designated."

The large blue tarp behind Fukiharo is pulled by 2 semi-trucks.

"With this new church unveiled, we want to also announce the changing of this street from Meddito Street to the brand new..."

Down the road, another tarp is pulled of a street sign.

"Canadian Missionary Avenue. The address is also 7 Canadian Missionary Avenue. Today is an exciting day. This new church not only symbolizes religious beliefs, but it is also the first time we have allowed foreigners into our country since the death of Gaddafi. I personally know Vydesbourne and he said that this point had to be made. We are no hermit country, we will be opening our borders to foreigners now. May these changes bring a new light to the country of Segentaea, the province of Meddito, and the city of Harefoot. Thank you, and have a great rest of your day."

Two hours later, a suicide bombing happened 5 blocks away from the ceremony. A police officer, 2 civilians and the bomber were killed. No group has yet to take responsibility for the act, but police suspect the LRLLL to be the culprits.

Missionary leader, Harry McMiller said in an interview with The Harefoot Herald that "The missionaries and the country of Segentaea are praying for the dead. We also would like to say that we will be at this church for a long while, and we will help anyone who cares to visit."

It has been noted that the Canadian missionaries have been taken hostage at the new church at 7 Canadian Missionary Ave. The LR/LLL have claimed responsibility. The terrorists are armed and the street has been shut down. Vydesbourne has called in the Segen Army.

President Sánchez Visits Russia

Image
6/06/2023 - 19:23 Clarin.com | Politics |

President Sánchez touched down yesterday in the Soviet Pacific city of Vladivostok, meeting with Aleksandr Dibrov, his Russian counterpart. The two were set to discuss San Martinia and Russia's close relationship, in addition to recent world events and the progress of Project: Frontier. Project: Frontier began as one of the components of the North Star-Southern Cross Agreement that first connected the two nations and has led to their ever increasing cooperation. Project: Frontier sees the development of San Martinia's Pacific southern areas and the Soviet Union's Pacific eastern areas to create a network of cross-Pacific trade between the two nations.

Project: Frontier's developments have been continuing at an unprecedented pace, due to the high levels of cooperation between the two governments and focus on their respective areas. Additionally, the scientific study of biodiversity in the areas as part of the project has flourished, providing much needed information about the biomes in those areas.

After their meeting in Vladivostok, where it is predicted that the two will continue forging a closer relationship between their two nations, they are expected to travel to focus areas on the Russian front of Project: Frontier.

الجمهورية اللبنانية

Currently experiencing high economic growth and soaring prosperity, following years of social, political, and economic stagnation, one could forget the rocky road that has led the small sized country of Lebanon to the developed well-known culture that it is, powered by a large diaspora that is now attempting to be highly influential in the Arab world. Lebanon, officially known as the Lebanese Republic, is a country in the Middle East, bordered by Syria to the north and east and Israel to the south, with Cyprus west across the Mediterranean Sea. Lebanon's location at the crossroads of the Mediterranean Basin and the Arabian hinterland facilitates its rich history.

A Look Back: On 4 July 1969, a faction of the army known as the Free Officers Movement and enlisted men gained control of the government and ousted President Charles Helou, and Prime Minister Abdallah El-Yafi. The coup was launched at Tripoli (Lebanese Tripoli) and, within two hours, was completed. Army units quickly rallied in support of the coup and, within a few days, military control was established and elsewhere throughout the country. Popular reception of the coup, especially by younger people in the urban areas, was enthusiastic. Fears of resistance proved unfounded. No deaths or violent incidents related to the coup were reported.

General Saddam Omar Aladeen claimed credit for carrying out the coup and was supported by a twelve-member directorate that designated itself the Revolutionary Command Council (RCC). Saddam through his post as the highest ranking General, became the country's de facto leader until the RCC constituted the Lebanese government after the coup. In its initial proclamation on 1 September, the RCC declared the country to be a free and sovereign state called the Lebanese Republic, which would proceed "in the path of freedom, unity, and social justice, guaranteeing the right of equality to its citizens, and opening before them the doors of honorable work." The rule of the Turks and Italians and the "reactionary" government which were overthrown were characterized as belonging to "dark ages", from which the Lebanese people were called to move forward as "free brothers" to a new age of prosperity, equality, and honor.

Saddam Omar Aladeen officially became the President of Lebanon, Chairman of the Revolutionary Command Council, Prime Minister and Supreme General in 1979.

The RCC advised diplomatic representatives in Lebanon that the revolutionary changes had not been directed from outside the country, that existing treaties and agreements would remain in effect, and that foreign lives and property would be protected.

Today: Promoted and supported by Saddam's government, Saddamism (Saddamiyya) is the political ideology based on the politics related to and pursued by Saddam Omar Aladeen. It is officially described as a distinct variation of Ba'athism, espousing Lebanese nationalism. It is militarist, viewing political disputes and conflict from a military standpoint as "battles" requiring "fighting", "mobilization", "battlefields", "bastions" and "trenches". These political views and ideology are based upon the views of Aflaq, Ba'athism's key founder.

An avid reader of topics on moral and material forces in international politics, Saddam's government is critical of orthodox Marxism, opposing the orthodox Marxist concepts of class conflict, the dictatorship of the proletariat and atheism; opposes Marxism–Leninism's claim that non-Marxist–Leninist parties are automatically bourgeois in nature and claims that the Ba'ath Party was a popular revolutionary movement and the people rejected petit bourgeois politics. Saddam claims that an Arab nation does not have the class structure of other nations, and class division was more along national lines than within the Arab community. However, he has spoken fondly of Vladimir Lenin and commended Lenin for giving Russian Marxism a uniquely Russian specificity which Marx alone was incapable of doing. He has also expressed admiration for other communist leaders for their spirit of asserting national independence, rather than for their communism.

Saddam's party is strengthened by Saddam's established party security apparatus and intelligence services. Most of 1970 was used to repress non-Saddamist thought and groups; for instance, a campaign against communists was initiated under Saddam's command. Several spy plots were created by the government; spies who were "caught" were accused of being a part of a Zionist and communist plot against the state. The Lebanese Communist Party (LCP) was skeptical of the new government and initiated a "popular revolutionary war" against the government but was duly crushed. Saddam responded by initiating a systematic campaign against the LCP and communist sympathisers. By April 1971 the "popular revolutionary" uprising had been crushed, and many were made to recant their beliefs publicly.

Saddam's Aladeen regime came to power by military force and since the 1970s, has followed a policy of the militarization of society, leading to the expansion of the old military elite. The military elite has since then gradually also evolved into an economic elite, since Lebanon is a planned economy; for instance, the government has appointed military personnel to senior positions in factories and companies. The government has placed more importance on military development than on the civilian sector. This military buildup is made possible because of Lebanon's oil production. Per capita military spending in 1981 was 370 percent higher than that for education.

In 1967, the Lebanese army consisted of 50,000 men on two-year service; the Lebanese Air Force had 170 aircraft. By 1980 however, these numbers have increased to a standing army of 200,000, 250,000 reserves and 250,000 paramilitary troops in the Saddamist Party-led Popular Army. The army has 2,500 tanks, 335 combat aircraft and 40 combat helicopters. By 1988, following a failed coup attempt, Lebanon fielded an army consisting of 955,000 standing soldiers and 650,000 paramilitary forces in the Popular Army. The army could field 4,500 tanks, 484 combat aircraft and 232 combat helicopters.

By 2011, according to watchdogs, the Lebanese army fielded one million men and 850,000 reservists; there were 53 divisions, 20 special-forces brigades, and several regional militias. The Lebanese military was able to field 5,500 tanks, 3,000 artillery pieces, the country had a strong air defense and could employ 700 combat aircraft and helicopters.

Palveiro’s New Missiles Are Having Decidedly Mixed Success |CNBC Translated from original English to Portuguese

We've heard plenty of bombastic claims about new Lusophine weaponry in the past few years from Lusophine President Sara Palveiro. But reports suggest that the development of new arms—many of them nuclear-capable—are experiencing decidedly mixed success. The first female president has continuously bragged about how Lusophone has a new nuclear-powered missile with unlimited range. But Lisboa will only produce a few of them because some weapons are yet to complete a successful tests and are too expensive to develop, according to sources with direct knowledge of Lusophine intelligence report on the weapons program. According to SILD, Special Inspection for Lusophine Development, new hypersonic weapons could be operational by 2020, but a nuclear-powered cruise missile won’t be ready for at least a decade. These weapons were announced by Palveiro as part of a package to modernize Lusophine tactical and strategic nuclear forces.

The cruise missile, referred to as “Skyfall” in intelligence reports, was tested once earlier this year. Prior to that, the weapon was tested four times between November and February, each resulting in a crash, according to sources who spoke to CNBC on the condition of anonymity. Assessments show that the longest test flight lasted just more than two minutes, with the missile flying 22 miles before losing control and crashing. The shortest test lasted four seconds and flew for five miles. The tests showed that the nuclear-powered heart of the cruise missile failed to initiate and, therefore, the weapon was unable to achieve the indefinite flight Palveiro had boasted about. The weapon, which has been in development since the early 2019, is believed to use a gasoline-powered engine for takeoff before switching to a nuclear-powered one for flight, sources explained. One intelligence report assesses that 'Skyfall' will not be combat-ready for another decade, despite Palveiro’s claim that the “invincible” weapon has a proven capability.

Palveiro’s push to develop weapons of this caliber has sparked concerns of a rapid militarization. What’s more, the latest revelations come a little more than a year after the Frente Nacional politician touted her nation’s growing hypersonic arsenal. Of the six new weapons Palveiro unveiled last March, CNBC learned that two of them, a hypersonic glide vehicle and air-launched cruise missile, will be ready for service by 2020. The new hypersonic glide vehicle, is designed to sit atop an intercontinental ballistic missile. Once launched, it uses aerodynamic forces to sail on top of the atmosphere. One intelligence report, according to a source, noted that the hypersonic glide vehicles were mounted to a SS-19 type intercontinental ballistic missiles — and one test featured a mock warhead. Previous intelligence reports, which were curated last spring, calculate that the glide vehicle is likely to achieve initial operational capability by 2020, a significant step that would enable Lisboa to surpass other countries in this regard.

A new hypersonic cruise missile dubbed "The Dagger” has also been tested at least three times and was mounted and launched 12 times from a F-15C fighter jet. Additionally, work is underway to mount the weapon on a strategic bomber. On Thursday, CNBC reported that nearly 20 of these Lusophine missiles were recently moved to a military testing site, signaling another milestone for Lisboa’s hypersonic weapons program.

This news comes it was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Joao Bolsonaro, will be an incoming national security adviser and will have the ear of Sara Palveiro at a perilously fraught moment in world affairs. A notorious hawk who advocates the unilateral wielding of Lusophine might, Bolsonaro is dismissive of international diplomacy. The introduction of one of the most aggressive thinkers in the world of Lusophine foreign policy, will spread fear in diplomatic circles that the Palveiro administration could be poised to take an even more dramatic hawkish turn.

The former ambassador, whose basic approach to diplomacy is summed up in the title of his book Surrender is Not an Option, has had a long, frequently controversial career in government. What’s even more worrying is he is described as “a seasoned bureaucratic infighter who has the skills to press forcefully for his views” – and he has a long history of using those skills to undermine Lusophine diplomacy.

It's a busy week for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has had to respond to foreign backlash on the Frente Nacional's 'Lusophine Identity Law' and a new law mandating Crucifixes be displayed in public buildings. Responding to the Soviet sanctions:
Lusophone will never apologize for preserving it's culture and history. The Russians are mistaken because we are not enforcing anything to the "masses." The masses are are not being forced to be Catholic because the masses are Catholic.

The Ministry also responded to Persia's comment about Lusophone's "far-right theocratic neo-fascism:"
We are not denigrating the status of the Arabic language. Lusophone has immense respect for the Arab language and culture but Lusophone is a country that primarily speaks Portuguese and we also must respect that.

The Segen Army tried to get into the church in a failed attempt. The terrorist group now going by the Libyan Revolutionaries has lost one member, but five of nineteen missionaries have been slaughtered. The stand off against the militant group is continuing.

Roman Senate announces plan for Latin to become official language of the URT, with modernisation programme involving linguists from across the URT

Today the Roman Senate revealed its ambitious plan to make Latin the official and majority language of the URT. It has troubled many senators since the founding of the URT that they often require translators just to communicate with fellow senators in the Curia Julia leading to the formation of the Latin Modernisation and Adoption Committee to investigate the feasibility of making Latin the official language of the URT with significant modernisation for the modern age.

After some heated debate in the Curia Julia, the senate voted in favour of adopting Latin as the official language of the URT. A panel of the URT's top linguists has been established, based in Florence, that will be officially responsible for developing contemporary Latin for the modern age, taking into account German, Greek and Italian to influence contemporary Latin, to ensure that people across the URT and the romance and germanic speaking world more widely will not have as hard a time grasping contemporary Latin as many have with old Latin. This will also make Latin an in-touch language with daily-life in the 21st century where old Latin is not and modifications presented by the youth in the future will also be accepted to ensure the language remains prominent and contemporary in the 21st century and into the future.

The process to make contemporary Latin the Lingua Franca in the URT will take decades, with all education across the URT required to be at least 50% contemporary Latin once the language has been fully fleshed out by the experts and the language becomes more widely understood. High on the agenda will be to adopt Latin in the URT's bureaucracies by requiring compulsory Latin education for those working in government bureaucracies as a single language will be essential to improving communication and efficiency between the three states of the URT.

Both the Roman Senate and the linguist panel have made promises to ensure that the Italian, German and Greek languages will not be made obsolete or fade into irrelevance and will still be taught in the education system as well as remaining official languages of the URT alongside Latin.

The Academic Party Wins the Post-GNU Elections!

Image

A year ago, a political crisis had rocked the Senatorial State. A disagreement in the Senate had spread over the people, and the mismanagement of the affair by the then Minister of the Interior had further aggravated the situation, turning it from a peaceful demonstration into a police tyranny. Many local governments and authorities of the country had denounced the government in Athens, with Thessaloniki and Preveza openly declaring their defiance.

The crisis lasted for six months. For six months, the threat of a civil war was upon the nation, like the sword of Damocles. Fortunately, the crisis died out, and the government signed an accord with the two unruly cities, thus creating a Government of National Unity. The GNU was envisioned to last for six months, and then would be dissolved in favour of an elected one.

For three months, the three most prominent parties have been campaigning throughout the country. The Academic Party, with Chancellor Jean-Martin Fleuchaim at its head, was poised to clean its name and regain its supremacy in Fregantese politics. The Fregantese Centre-Left Front was concentrated on consolidating its voting base in Central Macedonia and Eastern Thrace, while also making gains in the Aegean Islands against local parties. The Secular Pacifist Party on the hand, focused on keeping itself relevant, and tried to maintain its position as the third biggest party while making sure its relations with the Preveza Special Administration were intact.

All these efforts have met their results, and the numbers were announced:

Academic Party - Jean-Martin Fleuchaim: 56%
Fregantese Centre-Left Coalition - Jacques-Andrei Marrilos: 23%
Secular Pacifist Party - Georgos Ferideriou: 21%

With a clear majority, the AP dominated the elections, re-establishing its supremacy over the government once more. Jean-Martin Fleuchaim was sworn into the Chancellorship office once more, and Athens rejoiced.

The Otranto-Corfu Canal To Be Extended To Preveza

Image
The extension is shown in crimson

In 2022, the Otranto-Corfu Canal, a URT mega project, was given the green light. Now, the construction work is nearing its first year, and continues with the same rigour.

There has been an important alteration to the plan, however: An extension to Preveza.

Preveza as a city became relevant very recently. Initially, it was chosen to be the new harbour of the Fregantese Navy, so that the Fregantese naval power could be projected westwards more efficiently. The following urban and metropolitan expansions attracted many high-tech companies and other corporations, such as the notorious Mirai. The city and its surroundings were then designated as a Special Administration, further attracting capital and people. It became the third most largest and the third most influential city of the FE in just five years.

In January 2023, the Preveza Special Administration pressured the Athenian government into proposing an extension from the Corfu station, just like Ioannina. The demands were acquiesced to, and the also proposal got Italian support. As such, the Preveza extension is now a part of the project.

Details as to whether the extension will have railway connection haven’t been made public yet.

Latin As a Lingua Franca?

Image

One of the prominent topics in the Curia Julia (the Roman Senate) recently has been the introduction of Latin as a Lingua Franca for the URT. The concept is a polarising one, gathering support from numerous people alongside the scepticism of the others. A URT-wide committee was formed and some decisions regarding its education were taken. And thus the debate has also begun in the FE.

“Latin is a dead language. It lacks life, it cannot evolve. It is out of touch with the world, even more so in the 21st century. In addition, it is very difficult to learn, making it impractical as a Lingua Franca, not to mention the effort and the investments needed to adapt the education system to accommodate the Latin courses. Just because it is a prestige language, just because it is the old language of the Roman Empire, doesn’t mean it can be reintroduced to our lives. The concept is artificial, but most importantly, futile.”

-Dimitri Venizelos, PhD in Linguistics, University of Athens.

“Revitalisation of Latin is an interesting and radical idea. If it succeeds, we can see a rebirth of the Roman culture, but also its adaptation to our contemporary standards. It will be a Herculean task: Restructuring the education system, promoting the usage of Latin in daily life, gradually introducing it into the URT bureaucracy...

However, the benefits can overshadow the costs. If Latin becomes the new daily language, then the national language of the FE, Latin Greek, will die out. Latin Greek is young and isn’t necessarily used by many Fregantese individuals. This gap was closed with French, but to what extent? If Latin is to be reintroduced, then the state should spare no effort to promote the language as a supporting element for Greek Latin, instead of an usurper.”

-Gustave Korinizcy, PhD in French and Romance Language Studies, University of Larissa.

Learn how these Canadian geniuses killed the Left-Wing Opposition leader in the Pacifican Civil War
July 2nd, 2023
Written by Albert Stringer

You'll never believe it.

Imagine this; a two foot RC submarine rigged with explosives. Imagine this as well; taking out a leader of your opponent with it.

Let's start from the beginning.

It's 1997; near the end of the Pacifican Civil War. Los Angeles is being besieged. The Revolutionary Army of America (RAA) was holding out against Pacificans being assisted by Canadian air-forces, artillery and special-forces. The Canadians were tying up loose ends in the far north, predominantly dealing with other opposition forces such as secessionists. The RAA Leader, Kim Fleming quickly rushed to evacuate, as the city was encircled, air superiority was lost, and Pacifican forces were rapidly closing in. Luckily, for Fleming and his high command under him, he was about to escape on an armed and repurposed yacht. Unfortunately for Fleming, they weren't about to escape at all.

As they got aboard, they spotted a yellow, toy RC submarine in the water. One of the security guards with them picked it up out of the water and brought it in to show it to Fleming. Right as he entered the yacht, that's when it exploded, killing everyone nearby including Fleming. Not long later, Pacifican forces would reach the yacht and find Fleming's corpse- at least, what was left of it. A soldier on board the yacht recalled, "It was as if someone came in and massacred them; mutilated them, the sort. I was disgusted at first, then after I heard about what happened a few hours later, I couldn't help but to laugh."

To this day, the assassination of Fleming is widely considered one of the luckiest and coincidental successes in history. Given how the RC submarine was made, there was a solid chance that it would not explode like it needed to, and the RC to begin with was just meant to destroy or disable the yacht, killing Fleming was entirely a coincidence.

Lucas Stones' state visit to Portugal!
July 5th, 2023
For the first time since the Canadian-Iberian War, a Canadian leader visits Portugal.
Written by Noach Leeuwenhoek

Canada and Iberia share an interesting history with one another. 6 years into the 21st century and they were already at war with one another. After that, they became a protectorate for a short period of time before regaining full independence. The recent actions of Lusphone and the shared values has lead to Canada wishing to reestablish good relations with Portugal. With this in mind, President Lucas Stones will be conducting a state visit to Portugal and will be aiming to establish better relations, and perhaps economic and military agreements if convenient. "We have shared values, and we very recently share a history of liberation. It is important for Canada to maintain positive relations with countries that share such things with us, but the real nail in the head is that we both share common interests." Commented President Stones on his way to Portugal.

Canadian special forces liberates missionaries held hostage in Libya!
July 8th, 2023
24 Canadian Federal Guardsmen successfully liberated hostages actively being held in Libya by Revolutionaries.
Written by Erhard Plank

As of recently, about 19 Canadian Missionaries have been kidnapped in Libya by Revolutionaries. The Libyan armed-forces had attempted a breakthrough, however failed miserably and lead to 5 of the missionaries getting shot. Luckily, 16 Canadian Federal guardsmen, supported by an E-21 attack helicopter was able to storm the Church successfully. They silently managed to subdue guards around the gated area of the Church, and proceeded to storm the building from every side imaginable; they busted through walls, ceilings, glass panes and through any rooftop entries that existed, and stormed the front of the Church. Most of the 33 were killed or captured there, except for roughly a dozen of them which attempted to escape in vehicles.

One of the vehicles were destroyed by the E-21 using its 30mm chain gun, killing 3 and the remaining survivor was gravely injured, dying shortly after being dragged out of the vehicle by Libyan authorities. The other 2 which eventually reached the border saw the ongoing chase, and stopped the vehicles and arrested the remaining revolutionaries. The captured revolutionaries back at the church were forgiven by the Missionaries, however still taken and turned into the Libyan authorities as well. Their mission was a success.

Zackaroth and Persia hold naval exercise in Gulf of Oman

Today marked a sign of friendship between Zackaroth and Persia. Formerly enemies when Persia was ruled under the Sha, these unlikely allies have found common ground in defending the Middle East from aggression and extremism. This naval exercise was commenced by two highest naval ranking officers in the Gulf, shaking hands and promising to ensure the safety of all Zackarothian and Persian people who live on the coast of the Gulf Oman as well as within the Persian Gulf itself. The exercise itself is thought to have been a simulated invasion of the Gulf of Oman by an enemy attempting to breach it. During the course of the event, what looked like a Zumwalt-class destroyer was present but attempts to get pictures where stopped by Zackarothian government officials over seeing the event. When asked about the shipped, they only responded by saying information will be coming forth soon.

The test was concluded by the final test of the Zackarothian Hypersonic Cruise Missile, now called Point Break HCMs. The Point Break was fired at a derelict fishing ship provided by Zackaroth as a stand in of an enemy ship. The missile was fired from an operational Hyperion 2 5th Generation multi-role fighter, which is finally expected to enter service this year. What is noteable about this was the Hyperion 2 fired the missile while over Toss, to much fanfare. The missle traveled around 1,000 km before hitting and destroying its target. It is believed this was a response to the country, Lusophone, own comments about hypersonic weapons and to the world that Zackaroth's own modernization project is nearing its zenith.

THE BATTLE OF SAO LUIS

A dispute between representatives of the Federation National People’s Police and the Canadian National Police Force in São Luis over the prosecution of a group of suspected Canadian human traffickers caught in Orostan turned into a brawl and gunfight on Monday. The Federation group was preparing to hand their prisoners over to the Canadians in the local police station when, according to those involved and witnesses, an argument broke out over if the prisoners would be prosecuted under Federation or Canadian law. The Federation group refused to hand over their prisoners under the impression that the action would be illegal without holding them to Federation laws on human trafficking, however the Canadian group had been of the opposite opinion. It is unclear who drew their weapons first or fired the first punch, but it was believed to have happened when the Canadians attempted to leave the police station with the prisoners despite the Federation group’s protests. Outside the police station, a fist fight between the Canadians and South Americans escalated into a gunfight when a weapon was discharged by mistake. The Canadians took shelter behind a captured American M4 Sherman tank displayed as a trophy monument in front of the police station, which had formerly been the headquarters of the local communist insurgent group in the 1950s, and exchanged gunfire with Orostani police. There were no casualties on either side, however an Orostani was grazed on the shoulder by a bullet. The Canadians, who had opened the tank’s hatch by shooting off a lock, took shelter in the armored vehicle. Unable to rectify the situation, the Sourh Americans called for reinforcements. Ten minutes later, the tank was completely surrounded with police and and soldiers, several of which with anti-tank weapons and heavy machine guns. The Canadians, despite this, refused to surrender until their “right to hang those motherf-ckers” suspected of human trafficking was granted or a Canadian of sufficiently high rank ordered them to. A little over an hour later the Canadian ambassador arrived, and ordered them to stand down. The Federation and Canadian governments have both agreed to not prosecute anyone for the event, and planned a meeting to repair extradition policy between the two countries.

Airforce flyby in Tehran
We will resolutely resist the schemes of the Neo-Ottoman Aggressor!

Prime Minister Davud Akbar spoke to assembled army officers yesterday, assembled officers and soldiers in Tehran. He spoke on the subject of threats to the security and integrity of Persia. He elaborated on the threat of Turkey. "Turkey is still run for Neo-Ottoman, imperialist leaders who have a design for an Empire encompassing 19th century boundaries of the Ottoman Empire. They still aspire to their former lands in Syria, which you our army, and the proud people of Kurdistan and Syria liberated from the Turk in the Glorious Victory of the War of Turkish Aggression. Still they plot to undermine public safety by supporting the treasonous terrorists in the KiK, who have conducted numerous attacks against our police, army, and innocent bystanders. I say to your our proud soldiers, we will resolutely resist the schemes of the Neo-Ottoman aggressor!" receiving immense applause, Akbar would go on to praise the Near East Accord, and applaud alliances with European and neighboring nations. But by far the most applause was for calling out the duplicity of the Turks. Akbar then oversaw a flyby of Air Force supersonic jets, and also scheduled mountaineer exercises on the border in collaboration with Kurdish forces.

Tronador III Launches SABIA-Mar-2 Satellite

Image
22/07/2023 - 22:32 Clarin.com | Technology|

The Tronador III space shuttle, which finished development in 2022, has conducted its first actual launch from Puerto Belgrano near Punta Alta in Buenos Aires province. It launched the SABIA-Mar-2 satellite, the second and final satellite of the SABIA-Mar system. The two satellites in the system contain, among others, two multispectral cameras and a thermal infrared camera. These scientific satellites are being used to conduct ocean color analysis and collect surface temperature information, chlorophyll concentration, turbidity, phytoplankton primary production, water quality changes, algal blooms, and coastal sediment dynamics.

This satellite is just the tip of the iceberg for the San Martinian satellite industry, however, as the country has traditionally been been a leader in the Americas for the technology, being one of the few nations that can locally design, build, and launch a satellite.

Other satellites include the four Earth observation satellites in the SAOCOM system in heliosynchronous orbit, with dual purposes of soil, water, and vegetation observation to maximize agricultural efficiency and disaster prevention and management. With the latter three of the SAOCOM satellites (1B, 2A, and 2B), are twelve SARE light satellites (1B 1-4, 2A 1-4, and 2B 1-4) that are part of San Martinia's unique "segmented architecture" system. The SARE satellites, stationed in Low Earth Orbit, work in conjunction with their respective SAOCOM counterparts for functions distribution and coordinated pointing, either belonging to the assigned optical series with high spatial resolution sensors or the microwave series with synthetic aperture radar. Additionally, there exists the three ARSAT-3K satellites in geosynchronous orbit that conduct telecommunication services, Internet access, IP telephony, and digital television for the Southern Cone and beyond. Although the SABIA-Mar, SAOCOM, and ARSAT satellite systems are federally owned, private companies have also gained some experience in the sector. The company Satellogic operates the Aleph system of six ÑuSat Earth observation nanosatellites for monitoring of agriculture and weather events.

Many have begun to wonder if a space station is next on San Martinia's space technology, but CONAE put to rest those rumors, stating that such an ambitious project is "not on the table."

Strange glow reported off the coast of Zackaroth

A strange glow was report last night near the Gulf Oman out at sea. Star gazers noticed a large glowing patch of sea out in the distance. Blurry pictures where taken but at the distance, nothing concrete can be seen. The glow was confirmed by multiple witnesses and reported to the local authorities. Various explanations have been given to the strange glow, from bioluminescent algae, to something left over from the recent Persian and Zackarothian naval exercise. It also includes the more extraordinary such as a new Zackarothian nuclear weapon, a new biological weapon or even aliens. The Zackarothian government says it is well aware of the glow and sent out patrol ships to investigate, finding nothing of note. They also said the area is safe and no radiation of any sort has been detected. When asked for theories of what it may be, they offered no comment.

Campari Group releases new 'Euro Cola' soft drink, to be sold throughout Europe

Today Italian beverage manufacturer Campari announced its latest product- Euro Cola. The cola drink has ambitious aims to become the preeminent cola in Europe, where it will be exclusively sold as well as in some of Europe's overseas territories such as Cape Thetis and the European Caribbean.
Image
The drink has initially been released in three varieties; Standard Euro Cola, Euro Cola Light and Euro Cola Caffeine Free in order to make Euro Cola avalible and appealing to as many consumers as possible to ensure it can effectively compete with the current major cola brands.

In Italy Euro Cola has already been a success, with large amounts of media attention surrounding its release and a marketing campaign encouraging Italians to switch to Euro Cola in order to support Italian jobs and industry whilst not having make sacrifices financially as Euro Cola will be priced competitively with other cola brands. The Italian government has officially endorsed Euro Cola, and it will now replace all other cola brands currently used in the Italian government and all government bureaucracies to help support Italian jobs and manufacturing.

Euro Cola has also done well outside of Italy, where it is being marketed as an alternative to 'traditional cola brands from overseas, run by foreign corporations' and will be marketed as a cola 'specialised for the European palate and produced inside Europe, for Europe'. Many have commented on Euro Cola's superior taste, claiming it 'keeps the nostalgic taste of cola, but elevates it to a new level.' Campari Group has responded to the positive feedback across Europe by increasing production output from its newest manufacturing plant in Novi Ligure and has confirmed that it has a secret recipe that gives Euro Cola its 'supreme taste' when compared to other cola brands.

When asked if Euro Cola could potentially expand outside Europe, a representative from Campari said that they did not currently have any plans for expansion outside of Europe except for the possibility of expanding into the San Martinian market due to the large European population living in the country, particularly in major cities such as Santiago and Buenos Aires as well as areas just outside of Cape Thetis where many Europeans live and 'would not want to miss out on Euro Cola, which will be avalible just over the border inside Cape Thetis'.

Palveiro's Foreign Policies Are Better Than They Seem| Público Translated from original Portuguese to English
President Sara Palveiro “is not given sufficient credit for her foreign policies,” writes a senior fellow for Lusophone foreign policy at the Council on Foreign Relations. “All the chaos generated by this flawed president does produce actual policies, the substance of which in many cases is likely to be more consequential than the ways by which the policies arrived and the character of the woman who formulated them,” the report asserted. “What matters most is the effectiveness of Lusophine policy over time and its consistency with Lusophine national interests, not the personal qualities of its leaders.”

The new Council Special Report, Palveiro’s Foreign Policies Are Better Than They Seem, assesses the Palveiro administration’s foreign policy—including its ties with allies, relations with major powers, and policies toward international issues, trade, and climate change—nearly a third of the way through the president’s first term. It assigns a letter grade to each of President Palviero’s major foreign policies, as well as a final grade for her overall foreign policy, and concludes that some of Palveiro’s “individual foreign policies are substantially better than her opponents assert.” The report however, also acknowledges President Palveiro’s significant foreign policy shortcomings.

The report comes as President Sara Palveiro and Canadian President Lucas Stones celebrate and mark Canada and Lusophone's shared history. Commenting on his visit, Stones said "We have shared values, and we very recently share a history of liberation. It is important for Canada to maintain positive relations with countries that share such things with us, but the real nail in the head is that we both share common interests."
