Stones wins Canadian Presidential Election by a landslide!

Unsurprisingly, Former President of the North American Federation Lucas Stones won the Presidential Elections in Canada.
Not long after the decentralization of the North American Federation into the Federal Union of North America, Stones and Willford had to resign from their positions. However, this was far from the end of the young Stones' career. Still fervent and idealistic, and now experienced, this was only the beginning of his career, and he had planned only to continue his work as a politician and hopefully, President of Canada. This was a dream that he would inevitably succeed as seen today as he won the vote by an 85% land slide not seen since President Overbeck's presidency.
Being president alongside Willford did force him to make some concessions. While Stones did say it was an "honor to work with Willford, and was definitely an interesting fellow." the dual presidency was still in his eyes, and the eyes of many Hyper Democratic movements throughout the Federation a bit of a detriment insofar as his plans. "Despite some of the setbacks to my plans, I was still pleased to be able to implement what was important." Stones had commented just last month. He isn't wrong to say what he implemented was indeed important; the updates to the constitution and the federalization of the Council of Economics & Technocracy are indeed important and distinguishing features of Hyper Democracy. The fact he was able to implement it on a Federal level is what is truly amazing despite the opposition he faced.
He promised, in the Canadian Presidential elections to assert Canada as not only the arm and blade of the newly reformed Federal Union, but also as a Global power, and a defender of the Americas and intends on reviving the old "Overbeck Doctrine," essentially a Canadian version of the Monroe Doctrine, and intends on continuing Overbeck's policy of being a "Terror to tyrants and despots." He wishes to expand on the "Every man a farm" reform, make way for more homes for Canadians, and expand on automation and education reforms to ensure that the inevitable mass automation of industry "harms the working people as little as humanly possible. Ideally, prevent it from harming them at all while maintaining economic feasibility." Lastly, he wants to further connections to "Fellow Anglo countries such as Australia and Britain" and "maintain positive ties with France and the likes." Whether or not this entails any military alliance is still in question.
His opposition not having much to back him into a corner with, and having respect for Stones practically gave the election to him. The Vanguard Hyper Democratic Party of Canada won 85% of the vote, with the Hyper Socialists with Bertrand Marshall coming in shortly behind with 7% of the vote, Daryl Victors coming in with the Canadian Union of Fascists with 4% of the vote and with a mesh of other parties making up the remaining 4%. The former Hyper Democratic President of the North American Federation is now the President of our Hyper Democratic Union.
