Puertollanoan General returns home; State funeral

A Puertollanoan General in the Eastern Socialist State of Poland has returned in a coffin today, to meet his family and loved ones. He was serving as the supervisor of the Puertollanoan divisions in Poland, within the Desert military Compound. In what was a celebration of the Worker's Front of Calindelo, that resulted in a massacre, the Puertollanoan Government has given its most deepest sympathises to all those that lost their lives. The General, L. Marcos, returned in a coffin, draped in the flag of the Bolivarian Republic. High General Hugo Chavez was present at the funeral, and gave a powerful and moving speech about comradeship and endurance. The State Funeral was fully costed by the government, and reparations were given to the family of the deceased. There are initial plans to build a statue of his honour in Caracas, his hometown.

Opposition spokesperson calls for CSN intervention over 'human right's'

Key Opposition Spokesperson, Alejandro Piena recently in a statement called for CSN intervention into what he calls: "fundamental human right's abuses." The CEO of PuertoVision and one of the head spokespeople from the Conservative Opposition in Puertollano explains his plea to international governments, saying: "the Castillo Regime illegally seizes private property and confiscates personal belongings, this is abhorrent to all civilisation," he continues to mention that, "this is a fundamental human right's abuse, and business-leaders alike in Puertollano should be given refugee status over this socialist catastrophe." To conclude his statement, Alejandro urges for the: "CSN to intervene and protect the citizens of Puertollano, protect them from President Castillo." This is all in response to the further seizure of corporate property by President Castillo. The program will see the complete eradication of private, corporate ownership of businesses, but rather collective ownership. Small businesses are exempt.

Eeconomic agreements, helping generate billions of dollars worth of trade and investments for Australia

CANBERRA - The start of the year saw widespread government agreements, economic investments and social programs of the Australian government with the nations of Bulgaria, the Philippines, Krasendof, Oshria and Ukraine.

In Ukraine, the government signed an exclusive agreement for the leasing of the port of Krasna Kosa for 10 years. In this span of time Australian companies, most notably TransGen, will be able to set up corporations and port facilities in Ukraine without fear of security. The leasing per year will amount to $120M. The deal also includes Ukraine being part of the Visa Waiver Program, and the sending of Ukrainian students to study STEM courses under corporation sponsorship. After these students graduate after 4 years, they will be instantly given jobs in several AusGroup companies and required to finish 4 years of service before they are eligible to apply for a job in other corporations. Almost $2.10B has been shelved out, with another $1.50B expected to also be added to help develop the small city of Krasna Kosa as agreed under the Ukraine Accords.

Another big benefactor of investments from Australia is the state of Bulgaria, although the country has experienced some instability and high levels of corruption according to several international watchdogs, the Australian government and many other Australian-based corporations have poured out an estimated $3.00B dollars into establishing corporations, city development, port leases, and development of the Bulgarian oil industry. Almost $1.80B of the total investment into Bulgaria comes from the agreement between both nations on Australia being able to set up a oil drilling and processing plants on the northwestern city of Montana, which has been found out to be sitting on top of a large oil reservoir, termed the Jurassic Oil FIeld, and the building of a 422-km oil pipeline from the Montana plants to the port of Varna, which itself has been leased exclusively for 10 years for $85M per year. The port of Varna itself as well as the entire Black Sea cost of Bulgaria will see an increased number of TransGen Shipyards that will be put under the subsidiary name of TransGen Bulgaria. The deal also included agreements between Qantas Airline and Sofia Airport for the former to have an increased market share in Bulgaria and Sofia IA serving as a temporary hub for Qantas for European flights. An ACHEUS research facility will also be established near Varna and will help sprearhead a scientific interaction with their Bulgarian counterparts in biotechnology and oil processing. AusGroup investments in Bulgaria is said to range from $400M to $500M.

In Africa, in a suprising turn of events, the Australian and Libyan governments agreed on the Tripoli Accords. The agreement gave Tripoli port for lease to the Australian government for $85M per year. It is expected that a new TransGen Shipyard will also be constructed in due time. Argus CyberSecurity was also given the project of developing the state of Libya's communication infrastructure and internet connectivity with plans of establishing cell towers and bringing in fiber optic connections, although the lack of technologically experienced Libyan workers is proving to be a big issue. About $400M-$500M has been invested into the country by Australian investors and corporations, with many investors stating that the huge Libyan workforce is a great source of labor and would greatly pay back investments in due time. A potential oil exploration and joint venture agreement is also in the talks.

An agreement between Krasendof and Australia was greatly praised by several economists as the two countries finally established concrete relations. Krasendof allowed Argus CyberSecurity to handle several sectors of the Krasedofian communications infrastructure and to help provide the rural interior communities with greater internet connection. The West Africa Agreement which the agreement was called also allowed TransGen Shipyards to establish its first African subsidiary under the name TransGen Luanda. The port of Luanda was also leased to the Australian government for $85M/year for 10 years. A railroad was planned to be established by Australia but Krasendor declined. It is estimated that the country has seen $2.80B dollars worth of Australian investments.

In Asia, the country primarily focused by Australian investment was the pearl of the orient, the Philippines. The entire island of Balabac was exclusively leased to Australia for a huge amount of $150M for an unannounced duration. It is concluded that the Island will be a strategic position for the Australian Defense Forces as well as a key naval base for the Australian Navy. The Island will also serve as a place for military exercises between Australia and the Philippines, as the two countries have agreed on a bilateral military alliance and have already started joint patrols in the 'West Philippine Sea'. The island itself is near to the oil producing regions of the Philippines and the agreement between the two countries have finally allowed Australian oil corporations to scan and drill for oil in the area. In other agreements, Australia agreed to develop the following provinces in terms of infrastructure projects, education facilities and Australian investment into developing local products for export to Australia: Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Palawan and Panagsinan. That would total to $5 billion dollars worth of investments.

The increased amount of Australian investments have been heavily praised as well as criticized by various groups and opposition parties, seeing that this Australian ventures with other countries is a way to show that the country is flexing its economic soft power and that the massive number of leased ports will very much help Australia have refitting and supply docks for its navy in the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans as well as the Black and Mediterranean Seas.

Sooner or later Libyan, Bulgarian and Ukrainian built oil tankers designed by TransGen will sail the Mediterranean

VARNA, BULGARIA - Along with the influx of Australian investments into several countries at the start of 2019, TransGen Shipyards has also seen it's own big share of agreements with several port authorities.

With the government's agreements of leasing several ports in the Mediterranean and Black Sea, TransGen has been allowed to construct new shipyards. One of these will be established in Krasna Kosa in Ukraine, 3 dockyards will be constructed with the capability to build 7-10 ships per quarter depending on the sizes of the ships that will be ordered. The dockyards will be able to build ships no bigger than 50,000 TEU separately, but the dockyards if banded together for labor and materials could be able to create 85,000 ton TEU oil tankers which might soon be heavily purchased as oil from Montanta oil plants will be sent to Australia. The 3 dockyards will be put under the authority of TransGen's subsidiary, TransGen Ukraine and will be employing close to 1,500 people as well as 2,000 contractual workers. The dockyards are expected to report profits of $3.52B-$4.61B/year.

In one of the most ambitous TransGen expansions, the corporation will be building close to 10 dockyards in 3 ports situated across the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, 6 dockyards will be constructed and grouped into triads in the leased Port of Varna, here ships of all classes and sizes will be built and the triad system will allow 3 dockyards to merge and be able focus into building oil supertankers, the third TransGen subsidiary to be able to do so, after TransGen China and Indonesia. The remaining 4 dockyards will be divided between the ports of Bourgas,3 dockyards capable of buidling 50,000 TEU cargo ships, and Balchik,1 dockyard that will be capable of building 25,000 TEU ships. TransGen Bulgaria is expected to hire close to 12,000 new employees and regularly contract 5,000 to 8,000 more workers. The subsidiary is the largest of any TransGen subsidiary ever established and has high expectations of profitting $19.55B-$24.55B in turning out 35-50 ships per quarter.

In Libya, a country recently expressing anti-Australian sentiments, a TransGen subsidiary is being established in the big port of Tripoli. The shipyard will include 3 dockyards, which will be routinely turned to a triad dockyard to house oil supertankers as Libya is seeking to trade its oil exports using highly affordable oil tankers. The Libyan subsidiary will be put under the name of TransGen Libya and will hire close to 2,200 people and and regularly contract 500 more people. The dockyards are capable of housing 50,000 TEU ships or will be able to build a 120,000 TEU oil tanker every quarters. Regardless the shipyard will be producing 4-5 ships per quarter and have profits close to the $2B mark.

|| TransGen Krasendof to be opened in February|| TransGen Subsidiaries will have autonomous boards || Japanese Islands to soon have TransGen subsidiary || TransGen buys 25% of shares of Navantia Shipbuilding corporation in Spain, gains major say in corp's board

World Cup Celebrations

It was a nice, cool day as the teams began the match. The stadium, impressive in its size, was still overrun in capacity. Almost the entirety of the nation watched as the game commenced. With changes in possession seemingly happening every second, every single Magellan had their eyes glued to the screen, anxious and waiting. Near misses occurred, as well as penalties. Ads came and went. Halftime was called. Still, they watched.

And then, the first goal. People say it sounded like thunder going off as thousands of Magellans cheered simultaneously, both at home and in Bogotá. Soon enough, there were only ten minutes left, and the score was tied. La Roja scored another goal, and another clap of thunder roared. With less than a minute left, one could hear a pin drop as everyone watched and waited in anticipation. The whistle blew, and the score was 2-1.

The roars of the crowd were louder than ever before, laughing and screaming and crying, for Magella had just one it's first World Cup! Many have said that there was a stampede to get inside the stadium as time wound on, and after Magella won. La Roja players began waving Magellan flags and singing the Magellan national anthem, and the crowd joined in. After, partying continued throughout the next day, with many fans marching down the streets of Bogotá waving their own Magellan flags.

Online, memes about Magella's traditional football rivals surpassed themselves in popularity. Many Espalsian Argentines were taunted about Magella's win, and a number of anti-Chilean statues and murals in Andea were vandalized with exclamations of Magellan victory. Such incidents only increased after the players of La Roja were cleared of any accusation of illegal practices, with many using it as proof that the Argentines "lost fair and square" and "should stop being salty", according to various tweets.

ITS Mariastella Gelmini

30th - 31st of January, 2019

Marina Militare procures 40 Dassault Rafales and third Charles de Gaulle-Class aircraft carrier from France- to be named ITS Mariastella Gelmini

Today ITS Mariastella Gelmini, a former Marine Nationale Charles de Gaulle-Class nuclear powered aircraft carrier, arrived in its new homeport of La Spezia where it will join its two sister ships ITS Sergio Mattarella and ITS Silvio Berlusconi. The total deal made with the French government for ITS Mariastella Gelmini and 40 Dassault Rafales to be used onboard the vessels cost the Italian government 7.16 billion, this sum of money has been loaned from the NAF with a 10% interest rate as the Italian military must retain a 'budget cushion' to allow it to have billions of its budget instantly avalible in the case of war or a natural disaster, and most of the procurement budget for 2019 has already been reserved for classified projects, leaving no space for a 7.16 billion spend on an impromptu bid.

The Marina Militare has said that the MANADS system and state-of-the-art radar systems and computer software is to be installed on ITS Mariastella Gelmini before it enters service whilst its aircraft are being constructed for the vessel meaning that the small refit wont impede on the ships planned official launch into the Marina Militare.

The government has said that the nations fleet of three nuclear powered aircraft carriers and one nuclear powered supercarrier put "The Italian navy among the ranks of the worlds superpowers and secures the Italian navy's goal of being a "Globally present power that is capable of protecting the interests of Italy, the Triumvirate and the DEU anywhere on the worlds oceans and projecting European power and influence the world over."

http://prntscr.com/j4kz8f

To be located within areas of the Soviet Far West, Central Asia, and Far East it is expected to increase the amount of power being produced within the country with 9% being allocated to emergency power services within the frontier to desolate communities. Among this Vostik has also announced the establishment of the "Stable Power Committee" or "S.E.K." abbreviated in Russian. Utilizing a total force of 114 people, the SEK will be conducting a review of old Soviet era nuclear plants to give rating on their functionality. Those that pass the review will be opened back up for governmental use while those deemed too dangerous will be decommissioned fully.

Further among their responsibilities will be enforcing a new series of laws passed by the National Soviet:

New Environmental Laws
Within the city of Kaliningrad a vote has passed to allow the detaxation of electric vehicles. In an effort to encourage more tourism to the city while keeping with recent national policy, the city has voted to levy cut sales tax and tariffs on vehicles that are electronic, adding no additional taxes on these vehicles besides the sales price of charging.

Another law passed is to see the first of an aggressive policy on carbon emissions requiring small vehicles(SUVs, luxury, ect) to go through inspections increasing the rating to a Euro 4.5 for emissions and 3.8 for larger commerce vehicles.

Ethics of Performance Enhancing Drugs on the Battlefield: ZGENS attempt at controlling the battlefield
Today it was announced that Zackarothian Drug and Genetics Company, ZGEN, is starting trial runs of a new type of drug that supposedly suppresses feelings of anxiety and fear in soldiers. While the Zackarothian military has not asked ZGEN to create this new drug nor funded the product, they have agreed to allow military volunteers to undergo the trials and tests.

This has caused some controversy within Zackaroth as many feel doping soldiers up is unethical and potentially dangerous. It is known that many countries may supply their air force pilots with Amphetamines(street term Speed) for particularly long trips over dangerous areas. The ZADF has admitted to doing so in the past when a former pilot sued the organization for forcing him to take speed by threatening him with grounding. While the practice is still ongoing the ZADF reports it is only given to pilots on extremely long and dangerous missions and the pilot must consent such an action.

But some claim what ZGEN is creating is different. Its one thing to use a pill to remain more alert and aware of your surroundings but to suppress fear and anxiety may be a dangerous cliff that the army is edging closer towards. While ZGEN has not revealed the side effects we can look at the side effects of pilots who took speed. Hallucinations, addiction, restlessness, insomnia and even psychosis is reported. When questioned about such risk ZGEN responded by saying there where indeed side effects but the drug is not meant to be used all the time by troops. It mostly for major and difficult battles as well as for spec op units who must sometimes go in behind enemy lines.

The way they described drug is that it controls chemicals in the user's body that emerge when confronted by the fight or flight instinct. The drug bonds with these chemicals and lessens their effect upon the body, supposedly allowing soldiers better reaction time, more awareness and less prone to panic. Some say this is dangerous as it could force soldiers to enter dangerous situation unknowingly, rather then relying on their "gut". They also say this drug could cause soldiers to be more willing to kill civilians and commit other war crimes as fear and anxiety play a role in regulating ones emotions. Without them in play, a solider could theoretically lose his moral compass.

But so far the Zackarothian military is still moving ahead with plans to support the project if the trial succeeds, saying any and all options must be considered in this day and age. After the destruction of Toss its hard to argue that point but how far will Zackaroth be willing to go?

teleSUR International
Our north is the South

Meet Nicolás Maduro, Candidate for Speaker

Today we're talking to Nicolás Maduro, the candidate representing Puertollano for the position of CSN Speaker. Tell us a bit about yourself, Maduro.

Thank you for having me on TeleSUR, it is my honour. A bit about myself, before joining the Castillo Government I was a bus driver, and the Union Leader for the National Transportation Union. During this time, I spent many hard days fighting for better pay, better work, and better conditions, especially for bus drivers across Puertollanoan. As you can see, my job outlook has drastically changed, and this shows I am a flexible man. I currently have a job in the Castillo Government, and I am Overseer of the Bolivarian Missions, aid missions to expand and grow our nation as a whole.

What made you want to run as CSN Speaker?

Well, I saw the circumstances of the world. There is much work for us to do before peace and stability can be brought back. Now, I could continue yelling at my television screen, but I spoke with President Castillo about my ambitions. Kindly enough, he endorsed me as the Puertollanoan candidate. The pride in this only is enormous, and even if I'm not elected, I will always work towards safety and anti-imperialism. I think our voting system in the CSN is broken, a small majority can force enormous pressure on a large minority. This is simply unfair, and can allow international bullies to use our international systems are their own play-things. That would be my first job as Speaker of the CSN, fixing the system. Second of all, I want to expand Puertollano's humanitarian work in the CSN. All of the major bills that provided guidelines to warfare were written and passed by Puertollano. I do not want to see an end to this. Under my tenure, more legislation will be written, and the current legislation will be enforced very strictly. No war criminal will be able to sneak past old Maduro.

What are your chances of being elected?

This is where it gets a little tricky. Many countries in Europe may downvote me as a candidate, but I want them to think carefully if they do that. We've had plenty of Europeans and Yankees as the Speaker, but no South Americans. I believe we deserve to have an important place in they world, and we respect international sovereignty and borders. I'm no enemy of Europe, of the URT, or of NAF, I am a friend of theirs. I want to work with them, and excel our diplomatic relations. Of course, should they decide to accept me and allow me to crack down on war-crimes and protect the innocent, I do have good chances being elected.

Do you have any final message to our audience?

Yes. I send a particular message to the world's leader's: Puertollano is a friend. We recently held the World Cup to express our gratitude to the globe. This is a sign of us opening up and rejoicing in our diversity. It was not only our pride, but our pleasure to host such an event. The international community came together and ignored politics and just got down to business. That's what I want the CSN to be like, just getting down to business. We will end the squabbling.

There you have it, candidate Maduro. Thank you for coming on.

No, thank you. Get ready to vote!

Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles open assembly plant in Australia making total investment of Ā1 billion

Today FCA announced that it is to open a new assembly plant in Australia to serve as the production centre for the Asia-Pacific region. The decision to invest Ā1 billion ($1.2 billion) into Australia was made by the FCA's board of directors after discussions with the government of Australia over the location of the plant and the impact it will have on the local economy of where it is based.

The Ā1 billion investment will cover the cost of building the plant which will employ 1,000 local workers with generous salaries and pensions. Furthermore, FCA will be using part of the Ā1 billion to improve local infrastructure such as widening roads and building new higher-capacity bridges to compensate for the increased industrial and commuter traffic caused by the assembly plant. FCA has promised it will employ local builders to complete the infrastructure projects, benefiting the local economy and community around the assembly plant.

With the FCA cars sold in Australia being assembled there, prices of FCA cars from Fiat's to Ram's will be drastically reduced to prices similar to prices in Europe and the NAF. Ram pick-up trucks are expected to become extremely popular in Australia, particularly in outback communities, whilst Jeeps and Chryslers are expected to sell well among middle-class families and in the dense cities of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Fiats are expected to sell well thanks to their small, economical design allowing city dwellers to find parking spaces and fit through the older, narrower streets. The other FCA brands including Dodge, Alfa Romeo and Maserati are likely not going to be sold in Australia due to lack of demand for these types of vehicles, however they will likely still be produced in the huge new assembly plant for export to the Asia-Pacific region.

FCA brands include:

- Fiat
- Chrysler
- Maserati
- Alfa Romeo
- Jeep
- Dodge
- Ram

Malcolm Turnbull kickstarts his Odyssey Tour on landing at Tehran International Airport

SYDNEY - Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull plans to spice up the upcoming month of love with a 20-day international tour that will see him visit at least 7 countries in 3 continents to attend opening ceremonies as well as discuss trade and military agreements with several countries. The Prime Minister recently left the country for the Greater Persian State's city of Tehran and will arrive in the country on the early afternoon of February. Along with the Prime Minister were several members of his cabinet and some key sector representatives of the egislature House and AusGroup.

This string of visits comes in after coming into agreement with several countries, many of which will be visited by the Prime Minister, and that the arrival of the Australian leader will further enhance cooperation and relations with those countries such as the planned research and development projects the government has agreed to invest on in Ukraine and Austria-Danubian Empire. The Prime Minister is also set to lobby with foreign investors on the possibility of investing on Australia's so called 'Silicon Valley' as the country aims to take a leading role in creating innovation, high technology, venture capital, cybersecurity, and web development. The prime minister will also discuss the possibility of reducing tariffs on country trade with Australia and vice versa, it can be said that all countries except those with trade agreements with Australia have a high tariff rate of 30%.

One controversial visit the Prime Minister will be that of its power rival in the Pacific, Japan, in which the country has pursued a more cooperative stance with the Prime Minister expected to join with his Japanese counter part in the opening of a TransGen Japan Shipyard in Kyoto. Although the two countries are still relatively tensed in terms of political and military perspective, the two countries have enjoyed a conjoining peace mostly because of the two countries' participation in the Alliance of Pacific Nations. Along with the opening ceremony of TransGen Japan, the two prime ministers will discuss about a free trade agreement between Japan and Australia on agricultural and material goods.

The Prime Minister recently posted an update about his trip via twitter

The FA-19S will proceed to land on CIS member nation Pakistan while the remaining 2 FA-19S will continue to escort the Pacific One until February 17, also to act as an advertisement for potential buyers.

Legislature House passes National Service Act
31 January | Jessica Nate Sanchez

Image
Conscription in Australia returns after 47 years

CANBERRA - The Legislature House passed a controversial bill last January 30, proposed Legislative Bill 4768 of 2019, or otherwise known as the National Service Act

The passed legislation therefore requires every able bodied man, from ages 18 to 38, regardless of religion, ethnicity, sex and socioeconomic status, to serve at least 1 year and 6 months in the military. All the more unpopular is the clause included in the legislation that after serving in the military for the required time, the personnel will not just become a reserve of the defence forces, but will have to pick a military specialization to enter of which the only the Army branch has been able to officially open, with 3 fields of specialization to offer. The Navy and Air Force currently are deciding on their own programs. Although the personnel will be able to resume his or her civilian life, he is still required by the Act to do 'military training' in his chosen military specialization.

This comes from the learned results of conscripted armies being largely ineffectiveness as conscripted personnel usually do not want to join the armed forces and that this use of force typically leads to cases of increased desertion and lack of combat mobility and broken down organizational structure, potentially causing mutiny. Because of this present problem concerning conscription, the Act gives the conscripted soldier to pick a field which he thinks will suit his needs and help cater his ideals, leading to a more increased active role for that personnel, although it may not be that high, it still gives the conscripted citizen the ability to chose what he thinks may best suit him.

The Army's specialized fields include:

Image
Mountain training in the Australian Alps

1) High Altitude Mountain Training Course (HAMTC) - The Australian Army conducts preliminary mountaineering and mountain warfare training for all cadets for a period of 2 years. The culmination is a course of a 40 km run and climbing a 5500-foot cliff with a fully loaded pack at night.. Special Tactical Mountain Unit or codenamed as Olympia Unit. HAWS Mountain warfare courses are conducted in the Australian Alps with snow-craft & winter warfare training in Mount Hotham done regularly. Because of its experience as well as its infamous grueling training course, the HAMTC is one of best mountain units in the world, incorporating several military doctrines from other countries mountain training and philosophy with an added mix of Australian ingenuity. The Olympia Unit is proficient in many aspects of snow warfare, among them shooting and attacking while sliding on skis and custom-made Snowcats, defensive tactics, and more. But it remains one of the less picked choices of the common reservist, with only 600-1,000 joining its training program and hardly leaving 100 - 120 eligible trainees for the Olympia Unit, which has 1,500 men itself.

Image
Jungle Operations Training Course in the Solomon Islands

2)Jungle Operations Training Course(JOTC) - The JOTC doesnt only specialize in jungle operations but also in counter insurgency tactics and jungle penetration, with added training in jungle survival and stealth. With long decades of history of fighting in jungles during the Second World War and Vietnam War, Australia can be able to call itself as one of the world's premiere military institutes imparting training in jungle warfare. The JOTC has 1,500-2,000 trainees, but only 40% will be eligible to join Australia's special jungle warfare forces.

3)Support Combat Personnel Course (SCPC) - Currently the number one specialization in terms of recruits and eligible trainees, the SCPC or popularly known among army units as 'Scops', trains recruits on the most important part of military warfare such as medical training and service training, the specialization was created in order to give recruits a much broader choice within a choice. It itself includes several specializations in medicine, engineering, science and combat training. It is regarded as a more advanced form of basic compulsory training. 4,000-6,000 join with about 3,000-5,000 passing eligibility.

|| Australian Defence Force to have 10,000-20,000 new conscripts for 1st quarter of 2019 || National Service Act conscripts to have $40,000 salaries during basic training and $8,000 allowance for specialization course || Australia to use Solomon Island jungles for training course || Army to buy more MBT-18 Williams tanks, Northcott class ships and drones || Protests against conscription and participation in Nigerian Civil War broken up by police, 19 injured || Military exercises to help increase combat effectiveness and structure of armed forces ||

Magellan Arrested For Assault - Says Statues Are Anti-Chilean Propaganda

Wednesday, January 16, 2019

A few hours ago 19-year-old José Sanchez was arrested in Tacna. He had tried to assault a homeowner who owned several statues of Andean leaders in their backyard. According to information gathered from witnesses and video surveillance, he was trying to vandalize a stone statue of President Santa Cruz. However, the homeowner caught him in the act and confronted him. A feuded argument began, which continued until José snapped and physically threatened the homeowner threatening to kill them. During that time a neighbor called the police tip line. A few minutes later José swung at the homeowner which led to a fight. The fight thankfully was shortlived as the police arrived only half a minute after it started. The homeowner is alright, only suffering a few scuffs. When José was apprehended it was found that he had a stored a knife in his pocket. During his arrest, José repeated swore at the police. After an investigation, it was found that José had come from Chile seemingly in a vendetta. Although the court hasn't decided it's verdict yet, it's quite possible that José could be tried for a wide variety of crimes including assault, felony-level vandalism, attempted battery and more.

After the Magellan victory at the World Cup, Magellan gangs have begun to come into Andea in order to vandalize Andean property on the grounds of seeing them as "anti-Chilean propaganda." After the incident with José Sanchez, the Andean Police Department has stated that it intends to have a "crackdown" on this activity. Already several Magellans were tried for misdemeanors and issued fines. The incident with Sanchez is the most extreme the incidents have gotten so far, but

Update: José Sanchez was charged with aggravated assault and sentenced to two years in prison along with a five thousand dollar fine.

Mass shooting kills 25 people, 8 police officers

Tragedy has struck within the city of Pu'er, when a police patrol stumbled upon heavily armed individuals who began shooting indiscriminately. Fighting spilled onto the street, killing and injuring civilians until police responded with more numbers. A total of 33 people, 25 civilians and 8 police were killed with countless injured as well. It is suspected that the perpetrators were criminal elements, but individuals have come out stating that they were not speaking Mandarin during the firefight with police.Their identities have not been relised but it is known there was 9 attackers armed with rifles and even explosives.

There have been unconfirmed rumors of foreign elements working within the Provence of Yunnan for a number of years but have been ignored due to the lack of evidence. This recent shooting has the mayor of Pu're and other cities within Yunnan to call for the Provincial Governor to react. His reaction has unfortunately been to put in place a curfew in the Provence and call for military assistance from Bejjing as fears that the rumors of armed elements withing the Provence may be true.

Shakeup of Chinese Senate, DDP and CSM merge to form the Social Democratic Party of China

News broke that the membership of the Chinese Socialist Movement and the Democratic Progress Party had merged to re-form into the Social Democratic Party of China. This has come after both sides found that their ideals have mostly aligned with each other and looking to expand their power within the Senate. The merger has formed strong sentiments against the SDPC from the CUP and KMT, callign it "A disgrace of democracy". The PFC has kept quiet, supposedly due to their former coalition with the DDP and seeing if it extends to the new SDPC.

ACHEUS unveils new next generation attack helicopter
7 February | Arthur Cranpim

Image
The AH-17 brings a new innovative weapon to Australia, the Zeus Aerial Laser Variant
MELBOURNE- ACHEUS recently presented the Australian government with 12 brand new AH-17 Raiders of its Project Raider of the secretive Epyris Project, the country's new next generation helicopters with multirole capabilities. This is the country's first ever major attack helicopter since the retirement of the famed UH-60 Black Hawks way back in 1989. Although the Raider is primarily to be used for attack and reconnaissance missions, the helicopter can be able to transport upto 6 men. The helicopter has several weapons systems such as Hellfire missiles and AIM-92 air-to-air missiles, as well as several weapons pods and a gatling gun that can be retracted into the fuselage, making the aircraft one of the most heavily armed. The helicopter itself is 100km/hr faster than the CH-47F which was recently the fastest helicopter in the world at 316km/hr making it the world's fastest armed military helicopter in active use, and the helicopter is able to reach a ceiling height of 10,000 ft above sea level at can sustain flight at extreme temperatures which was a primary specification by the government.

The AH-17 has 3 variants, but the most heavily regarded variant is the AHLWS, which has been incorporated with the ZAV-LWS. Helios III Laser Weapons System, a project that had lasted for 1 year of continuous research and development with heavy government support. It is still unknown whether the 12 AH-17s have such capability as the AHLWS is still said to be under test trials.

The 12 AH-17s were flown to Hobart Military Base and will be sent to Norfolk Island in the Pacific and Balabac Island in the South China Sea.

In the early morning of February 2, Pacific One landed at Riyadh International and was greeted by a Zackarothian delegation that welcomed the Prime Minister due to the absence of the Zackarothian leader. The delegation did not wait too long in Zackaroth after failing to agree on several agreements, but the visit ended with a nice banquet and a tour of the desert.

By the middle of the night of February 2, FA-19S leaving Riyadh International signalled the last of the Odyssey tour leaving Zackaroth for Bulgaria for a 3-day state visit.

Prime Minister Turnbull was greatly welcomed as he stepped out of Pacific One, the Bulgarian President greeted him as he stepped down the stairs of Pacific One and a military salute was given to him as he walked down the carpet towards a black limousine, flanked by a contingent of 6 black SUVs and 3 police motorcycle escorts. The Bulgarian crowd happily welcomed the motorcade as people crowded the barricades to see a glimpse of the Australian leader. Turnbull was escorted to the Bulgarian President's Office to a banquet along with the Australian delegation.

The next day of February 4, the PM was given a tour of the Black Sea coast as well as visiting several towns and villages along the way to see TransGen Shipyards and AusGroup corporation investments. The PM also visited the recently leased Port Varna where the biggest TransGen shipyard out of Asia was located, he gave a short speech to the shipyard's workers and staff and promised the Bulgarian-Australian relations will continue to strengthen and that development of Bulgaria will be key to Australia's own economic progress. The Prime Minister also visited a part of Port Varna where a possible military naval base would be set up. By February 5, the delegation visited the Australian made Montana Oil processing plant and the ongoing construction of the Montana-Varna pipeline.By the evening he boarded Pacific One on route to nearby Ukraine for another 3 day state visit.

Turnbull's arrival in Lviv was met with much enthusiasm in Ukraine but not at that level of Bulgaria. The PM was immediately given a warm welcome and a motorcade escorted him to the Presidential palace. Turnbull praise the high level security the Ukrainian government gave him. By the next day, the PM met with the Ukrainian Science Minister along with ACHEUS representatives to discuss about Australia's support for Ukraine's renewable energy project. The two sides shaked hands with Australia giving $20M dollars worth of assistance investment to help support Ukraine's project. On his last day in Ukraine he visited the port of Krasna Kosa as well as it's nearby city as a show of support to the city's development with Australian investments. At Krasna Kosa, Turnbull shaked hands with TransGen's workers.

During his 2 day visit at Helensted from 9-10 February, the Pacific One's arrival coincided with the mass arrival of Austria's 90 newly ordered Australian made FA-19S. The fighters were piloted by Australian pilots and gave a quick aerial demonstration for the PM's arrival at Austria before finishing the delivery. At landing PM Turnbull led the hand over ceremony to the Austrian Air Force who gave the PM and the Australian pilots tokens of appreciation. The PM, his delegation, and the pilots were escorted to an exclusive tour of Vienna's Fort Legion and even met the Emperor himself at a banquet his majesty had hosted for the Australia delegation. The next day, Turnbull met with Austria's Defence and Science ministers to discuss agreements, asking for the Australian Navy's participation in the upcoming ADE fleet exercise in the South Atlantic and Australia's support for the ADE renewable energy venture. The PM left for Puertollano at around 1:09AM of February 10.

The Prime Minister was heavily guarded but was able to met President Castillo himself as he entered the airport. During his 3 day stay, PM will continue talks to strengthen Australia-Puertollano relations and will also talk about potential military deals, he will also lead the signing of the Agricultural Trade Agreement with Castillo worth $100M dollars of agricultural products.

Project Charybdis Unveiled; The Austrian South Atlantic Wargames

For the past year the the entire colony of New Bucharest has been participating, at least in part, to the heavily top secret project that has been dubbed Project Charybdis. After many months of work, progress, monetary loans, setbacks, and tests, Project Charybdis is ready to be unveiled to the world's public. Project Charybdis has seen the construction of two sister "Charybdis" class surface subcarriers dubbed the SMS Charybdis and the SMS Scylla for the Kaiserliche Marine (Imperial Navy).

These subcarriers are the first of their kind, being set above the water like a typical carrier, but host to what Project Charybdis has also been working to complete: the first European variant of subfighter technology. Austrian engineers have developed and ordered forty Mark I Calypso Class Austrian Subfighters from the Project's base at New Bucharest.

The Charybdis Class Subcarrier works by providing a platform for specific variants subfighter to be launched into the water inside several hangars inside the deck of said carrier. When the subfighters resurface after operation, several cranes within said hangars will then be used to retrieve the subfighters and safely place them back onboard the ship. Each Subcarrier is host to two hangars, and the Charybdis Class Subcarrier must be stationary in order to conduct its operations. These subfighters will provide the Kaiserliche Marine the opportunity to join Japan in utilizing subfighter technology to elevate its naval capability to the next level.

Surprisingly to some, the past years have elavated Austria's Kaiserliche Marine to one of the most powerful naval forces on the Earth, and when joined with the Italian and Fregantes Navies under the banner of the United Roman Triumviate, boasts some truly impressive firepower as one of the world's few truly First Class Navies. The Roman Navy, as a whole, is one to challenge even the established naval powers of France and Japan.

In honor of the completion of Project Charybdis, the Austro-Danubian Empire will be conducting a massive set of War Games in the South Atlantic. These wargames will Austrian naval progress over the past months and years, and will be host to almost the entirety of the Kaiserliche Marine. All registered Austrian naval craft excepting the coastal patrol will be taking part in one of the largest shows of force ever conducted in the modern age. The Austro-Danubian Directory has asked the British government to be willing to allow the Volkswehr to make use of the Falkland Islands in these War Games, as the processes of the Wehrmacht and Reichswehr would like to be displayed in these games as well. The War Games are scheduled to take place in the latter half of February.

Government officially legalises 'celestial mining', MCI Group announces first trial mission for late 2019

Today, after extensive lobbying from MCI Group, the Italian government has officially legalised the concept of celestial mining to the private sector, with a 1,000 page legal code outlining a plethora of regulations and definitions related to celestial mining, which the code defines as "The exploitation of raw materials from asteroids, moons and planets, including near-Earth objects for use by the human race." The document also outlines a permit scheme for companies who wish to attempt celestial mining, a request must be filed to the Italian government specifying the specific asteroid or 'planetary sector' (defined within the document) of a planet or moon that the company wishes to receive a permit for to allow them to have exclusive mining rights to that sector.

MCI Group is the first company to announce plans to attempt a trial-phase launch after the new celestial mining legal code was published. MCI says that they are still many years away from the possibility of making a profit from celestial mining, however as a subsidiary of Eni they claim that they have a sufficient budget to make it feasible in the future, particularly when combined with lucrative government subsidies for the Italian space industry. MCI Group says its late-2019 trial mission to near-earth asteroid (410777) 2009 FD will conduct trial surface mining operations using a scoop and an auger of the surface of the asteroid.

A small sample of rock or minerals will be collected and transported back to earth, however the company says that the experimental mining equipment will be left on the surface of the asteroid to make the transportation of the sample easier, leading to fears of space pollution among environmentalists opposing the Celestial Mining Act 2019. Only a small sample will be returned to earth by MCI as they say the technology needed to transport large amounts of minerals back to earth to make a profit is not yet available but that the company is testing methods at its development centre in Sicily.

Due to the extreme costs of these missions for MCI the Italian government has agreed to pay for the launches of MCI's equipment from Guiana Space Centre until the company makes a profit, which likely wont be for many years to come. MCI claims that more advanced forms of mining are to be trialled at later dates which will allow it to collect more precious materials and mine a larger volume of rock, in turn increasing the likelihood of making a profit.

A committee of Italian Senators within the Curia Julia are currently drafting a proposal for the Celestial Mining Act 2019 to be copied into URT-wide law, with an official debate and vote expected in several months.

Politicians Impeached!

Just a little less than a month ago, the Ministry of Justice and the Minister, Hernán Larraín, spearheaded a quiet investigation into corruption of politicians in Magella's very own legislature. This caused quite abuzz among many, but most media outlets were asked to keep quiet about the investigation. Just now, we received word of the results. Over twenty politicians from both houses of legislature were removed from office. Some reportedly received campaign money from foreign nations, while others it appears were being paid money to vote certain ways on bills and acts. All were a part of the same political group, the remains of the former Party for Democracy, a notoriously pro-South American unity advocate. President Goméz is expected to make a statement today, as she is from the same group.

EDIT: In a stunning twist of events, both President Goméz and Vice President Ricardo have been connected to the corruption scandal, and movements for impeachment are currently proceeding. This was reportedly a surprise for the entire remaining legislature. We will keep you updated as the news comes in.

EDIT 2: Both the president and vice president have been impeached and are out of office! While there is no word on whether criminal sentencing is an option, Magella is currently leaderless. As per Magellan law, emergency elections will take place next week for both the presidency and the now vacated spots in legislature.

In Other News: Almost every single action of former president Goméz is being scrutinized by the public; Man eats five-year-old microwavable hot dog, claims to be able to see the future; Cougar caught on tape assaulting a car to allow the owner's pet cat to ride on its back; Preliminary construction plans for 5G network in Magella begins; Population of small town convinced Elvis is playing music in their church; Widespread protests over arrests of Magellan citizens in Andea over alleged destruction of propaganda

All Italian cities and large towns to gain full 5G coverage by late-2019, nationwide coverage by late-2020

Today the Ministry of Infrastructure announced that, in partnership with Vodaphone Italia, a major expansion of the 5G network in Italy is to be undertaken. As of now only Milan, Rome, Naples and Turin have full 5G coverage (Milan was the fist city in Europe to have 5G access) however the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced a grand scheme to have 5G in all cities and large towns with a population greater than 50,000 by late-2019.

Not including the cities that already have 5G coverage, 144 cities or large towns are listed as having over 50,000 people (Including Nuovo Milano), meaning there is a big task ahead for Vodaphone Italia and the Ministry of Infrastructure to have full 5G coverage in these locations, and it is likely that Vodaphone Italia and the MoI will contract the work needed to be done out to local companies in the places with smaller populations as the extent of work required is less due to their smaller size and required coverage area.

The Ministry of Infrastructure has also set some time in late-2020 as the date when full 5G coverage will be achieved nationwide, work on which will begin once the current task of getting coverage to cities and large towns is complete. The project has been named 'Vodaphone 5G', due to Vodaphone working with the MoI to complete the project, contributing funds towards its completion in return for recognition as the "Pioneers of 5G in Europe".

The Austro-Danubian Empire

Austrian and Italian Navies Set into Position, War Games to Commence!

The much awaited Austrian War Games have commenced in the South Atlantic Ocean. The full might of the Austrian Imperial Navy (Kaiserliche Marine) has been publicly broadcast of the world to see. Both the Austrian Mediterranean Fleet and the Austrian Atlantic Fleets have been commissioned into the South Atlantic, each bearing significant firepower in themselves. The Black Sea Fleet has been left to patrol the Empire's borders, while the Italian Republic has sent a large fleet of their own to safeguard the North Atlantic in the event that any unexpected crisis occur during the War Games.

The War Games will be the first time that the supercarrier SMS Empress Nicole, and the sister subcarriers SMS Charybdis and SMS Scylla are put through military tests beyond what has been conducted in the Mediterranean. The Austrian Imperial Navy also unveiled another technology created during Project Charybdis with the launching and first appearance of the Siren missile. The Siren is an advanced missile/depth charge that is specially designed to target large submarines and subfighters in the water. It works by (once it hits the water) detaching many high powered explosives at different depths in the water and all exploding in a column at once, acting as a large column of depth charges that would crush any submarines or subfighters in the vicinity. The production factories and military bases at New Bucharest have rolled out hundreds of these, and the first batch are being tested to major success in the South Atlantic.

As part of the War Games, the Reichswehr has sent 25,000 military personnel to New Bucharest to join the 25,000 Foreign Legionnaires who are stationed there at a regular basis. The Reichswehr and Fremdenlegion will be working together in Cape Thetis to conduct many military operations to showcase Austria's military prowess.

Several media outlets have reached out to the Emperor Martin von Habsburg-Lorraine with only one being successful. When a reporter from TeleSur approached him getting into his limo to attend morning service of church, he was asked what the Austrian public should make of the War Games that are taking place in the South Atlantic and whether or not they should be seen as a threat to any nations of the world. His response was eerie for sure, being simply that "The Empire always gets what it wants."

New Party Rises to Power!

After the impeachment of former president Goméz and a number of other politicians represented in Magella's legislature, emergency elections needed to take place per current Magellan laws, since there are no current approved FSR laws on how to deal with such matters. Just yesterday, Marina Salamanca was elected the new president of Magella and was inaugurated only a couple hours after the results were finalized and it was established that no recounts were requested, so as not to leave the Magellan people seemingly leaderless. Of the 21 seats vacated in legislature, the National Political Group of Magella, which Salamanca belongs to, gained 12. While they were a major power in Magellan politics beforehand, they had never gained a majority in legislature or the presidency. Analysts say this is just one effect of a steady increase in nationalism.

After being sworn into office, Salamanca's first order was quite bold. She put forward a proposal to legislature, which was already gathered for the recent changes, to secede from the FSR, "effective immediately". The proposal made it's way through both houses rather quickly, winning by just 26 votes in one house and 18 in another. Salamanca has cited an increase desire of the population as the reason for such action, and the "ineffectiveness and apathy" of her predecessor as the only reason they had not already seceded. According to a survey of almost 10,000 Magellans in Santiago, around 78% support the move, compared to just 27% of the population who were against joining the FSR in the first place.

The leading cause behind this upturn in Magellan politics is most definitely the steady increase in nationalism among the population ever since it joined the FSR, by, according to some, "thin" margins. After almost a year with them, much of the population found "overbearing Orostani influence" to be the main threat to Magella, rather than foreign powers (although the occupation of Argentina by Spain often tied). They claimed that the culture of Magella was being suppressed in favor of a joint culture, and the Spanish language minimalized in favor of a shared Interlingua. Many thought that the FSR government was attempting to wipe out Magella's culture purposely in order to fully integrate it into an idea of a "united South America".

The World Cup also caused quite an abrupt bump in an already growing nationalist populace, especially considering Andea is one of Magella's most heated rivals, with Orostan another, albeit less so. The brutal arrests and biased sentencing of José Sanchez and other Magellan citizens in Andea who were destroying public and, on occasion, private anti-Chilean statues, murals, and other propaganda only fueled the fire, with hundreds of widespread protests demanding their release to the "fairer" Magellan criminal system. Then there was the effort from the FSR finance board to integrate machine learning into the economy of the entire FSR, which ran on three different systems according to different SFR's. Many Magellan citizens saw this as a further attempt to remove anything Magellan and replace it with something Orostani, which currently functions on a decentralized planned economy based on computerized calculations.

The increasingly dire situation in Nigeria was yet another cause for alarm among the Magellan populace. Many didn't support the war, claiming that the CSN already had more than enough forces to disrupt the bloodiness, and that, since the NSRA had already been established as a nation, aid should be sent to them instead of wasting troops and money on joining the CSN banner. The increasing tensions, which had previously almost seemed to be subsiding, between Magella and Spanish-occupied Argentina after the World Cup, and what seemed like relative indifference by the rest of the FSR, also spurred on this move.

The impeachment of numerous Party for Democracy group politicians, and their ties to corruption, also angered many and was definitely in their hearts and minds as they voted. Although the specifics of the investigation have not been released as of yet, it was widely known that they were impeached for accepting illegal campaign funds from foreign nations, and that they were paid to vote certain ways on different issues. Many suspected that the face behind the money and funds was the FSR, and that they were forced into joining the federation by corrupt politicians. According to most statistics, this was the tipping point for many voters.

After Salamanca's announcement, the newly re-established Magellan military, made up of the former Magellan military before it was incorporated into the FSR, imprisoned the few Orostani and Andean soldiers in Magella with the intention to send them back to their homes. Although technically while under FSR rule there was a joint military, Magella had joined for less than a year, and the cultural, language, and geographic barriers made it almost impossible for full integration, and most of Magella's soldiers stayed stationed at home, so they were able to overwhelm the relatively small amount of FSR soldiers. Military equipment and weapons were confiscated, as they are part of Magella's garrison.

The details of the secession were also laid out by Salamanca after legislature's approval. Soldiers of the FSR were to be sent home, and all military bases became Magellan. All of the hydroponic farms, with the third wave currently under construction, also became Magellan, since the construction coops were contracted by the Magellan SFR. Most statistics agree that the third wave will give Magella food self-sufficiency, although Salamanca has made open her stance that trade for food will still occur (albeit less so) and the farms are to allow Magella food in case of embargo or other economic sanction. The preliminary construction of 5G cellular networks had also begun as an FSR-wide initiative, and will continue in Magella as a Magellan initiative. Since almost the entirety of Magella's infrastructure was built before joining the FSR, this act of independence will have little to no effect on the nation's infrastructure. As a reestablished state, it exited all alliances it was previously in as part of the FSR. Salamanca's government has formally requested entry into the Alliance of Pacific Nations, as the Magellan Republic, and asks for recognition from the CSN.

Some have questioned the need for such an abrupt secession, but Salamanca reiterated her stance that independence was wanted by many, and preliminary polls have proven that she is right, by quite a large margin. A little under 80% of Magellan citizens, gathered from an online poll, support such a move, mostly from southern areas, where many felt "sidelined" by the FSR's industrial focus. Over the Capital Building, the flag of the FSR was lowered and the flag of Magella was raised.

In a somewhat separate scandal, former Minister of Defense and Commander in Chief Andrés Aguado admitted to giving funds and researchers to Project Charybdis, an Austro-Danubian Empire project, without the knowledge or approval of then president Goméz, as well as signing a number of defensive treaties allowing Austrian military access to Magellan bases, and, in case of hostility from the FSR, airports and ports right after president Salamanca's proposal passed this morning. While according to the Magellan constitution such a move is legal, he needed to get approval from Goméz before making such actions. He was formally kicked out of office once a separate Ministry of Justice investigation proved his claims to be true, but many supported his move and called for his reappointment. They kept saying something similar to "the enemy of my enemy is my friend," referring to the Austro-Danubian Empire. In somewhat of a compromise, he was pardoned by Salamanca, although some critics have called the move "evidence of corruption". The validity of these treaties were reaffirmed by Salamanca and Aguado's successor, which has drawn both abundant praise and criticism.

Zackaroth recognizes Magella as its own nation

Today, the Zackarothian put a statement on the nation of Magella, a nation that had previously been in a union with the FSR until it suddenly left a few days ago. The High Leader had this to say on the matter. "The nation of Magella has decide to leave the FSR and strike out on its own. While the circumstances could have been better and an official vote called, there is no doubt this was a popular move according to Magellan people. Zackaroth would like to welcome Magella into the world as its own entity and officially recognizes the country as a full and sovereign nation. We look forward to working together as we do with others, in the days ahead"

When questioned if this would inflame the FSR, particularly Orostan the High Leader had this to say. "While I have no doubt there will be hurt feelings over this, I personally oppose any type of super national unions between nations. I feel it erodes cultural, economic and the people's power as well as slows down response times to quick occurring events. As I said, I would have preferred an official vote but according to Magellan polls, the move was supported by 80% of its people. We mean no disrespect to the FSR or the nations that make it up, but Zackaroth will recognize stable, free nations"

Prime Minister Turnbull returns from Odyssey Tour

Malcolm Turnbull returns from the Odyssey Tour.

CANBERRA- After almost 20 days of travelling, Prime Minister Turnbull returned to the country's capital to resume his political duties. On his return the Prime Minister drove to the Legislature House where he gave a speech concerning his trips success in achieving its goals of helping initiate Australian leadership and influence into the international stage, his speech ended with a standing ovation from many of his supporters in the legislative body.

Prior to his return back to the country from the so-called "Odyssey Tour", Turnbull last visited Japan, where he stayed for 3 days to discuss economic, military and diplomatic agreements with the Japanese Prime Minister. Also there, he and PM Abe joined the ceremony on the opening of a new TransGen shipyard in Kyoto. For his last day in Japan, he went to visit the Japanese's research facilities as well as get an exclusive tour of Japan's renewable energy sources.

Although having just come off fresh from a long month tour, the PM is rumored to be preparing for another visit, probably to the Magellan Republic in South America after news came out that the former SFR has declared its independence from the Federation of Socialist Republics. Though it is still uncertain whether or not the country may indeed recognize Magellan's independence or not.

The Zeus Naval Variant - Laser Weapons System

HOBART- Almost a month after Helios III and the Australian government witnessed the testing of the ZAV-LWS, the group has reportedly finished preliminary stages of the naval variant, in the Bass strait. Media were not given the exact location of the test trials in order to safeguard the project's details. However a lone amateur shot has been spreading all across the internet of a Northcott destroyer successfully destroying what appears to be a small drone.

If successful, the ZNV-LWS might see use in several military vehicles that the government is planning to upgrade, especially the navy. If considered to be a failure the entire laser weapons will be returned for further analysis.

Some Australian vehicles that have been equipped with the ZAV-LWS are the FA-19, F-35, AH-17 helicopters and Poseidon B-8. It is still being denied that these vehicles, disclosed as well, will be participating in the Nigerian civil war.

Australia recognizes Magellan Independence
February 24 | Roger Peterson

The Australian Legislature House on February 23, 2019 officially recognized Magellan as a sovereign nation

CANBERRA- In an unexpected turn of events, the Commonwealth of Australia officially recognized the Magellan Republic, a former Socialist Federal Republic of the Federation of Socialist Republic, as a sovereign nation and acknowledges its return to nationhood.

The Legislature House officially recognized the independence of Magellan on February 23,2019 Australian time. This action of the legislative body comes after Prime Minister Turnbull called for the body to reach out to the new nation in the hopes that a strong relationship will be born in Magellan's time of adversity and struggle to find its existence among the seat of nations. However, only 27% of the House actually liked the idea of supporting such decision, and that the decision to recognize the new country was passed through a referendum from 10,000 people from all across the country that saw 66% vote in favor of recognizing Magellan.

As of February 24, plans have been declared that Prime Minister Turnbull will fly to South America to talk with the new Magellan de facto leader, Marina Salamanca, about the South American Initiative, a series of agreements both affecting the economy, infrastructure and development of Magellan as a new country.

The Initiative includes several AusGroup agreements that will establish TransGen Inc Shipyards, an Argus CyberSecurity facility that will help reconstruct Magellan's communications system and hardware, and help develop further Magellan's internet connectivity and establish a strong cybersecurity presence. The 3 combined will account for a massive investment of $3.80B Meanwhile, to help complement for the FSR's infrastructure that will be taken away, the Polish-based AusGroup company Holtz Constrcution will be given government contracts to help rebuild and construct most of the Magellan Republic's roads, railroads, and bridges at a price of $6.5B. Research corporations such as Helios III and ACHEUS Corporation will also be setting up facilities to help establish a stable national power grid, specifically renewable for Helios III, while ACHEUS will be filling the Magellan market will energy-efficient appliances that use less electricity to help lessen the burden of a big electric consumption. Helios III expects that the URT will surely send aid to construct new energy generators.

To help revitalize the Magellan Republic's tourism and transportation industry, an agreement between Qantas and Magellan will include the renovation of Magellan's international airport and Qantas building a new terminal to open its first South American Hub. It is expected that such developments will better help Magellan's tourism industry get back to its feet. The Visa Waiver Program has also been extended to Magellan for each countries' citizens to enter the other country with no more visa requirements.

To help aid in the trade and commercial sector of the new country and to help alleviate the shortage of cargo, bulk, oil and other ships Magellan has made an agreement with Australian National Line to use Magellan ports to carry Magellan goods and products to other countries free of duties. Primarily, Australia wishes to increase its trade with Magellan and because of the threat of embargo and a coming famine due to its secession from the FSR, Australia and Magellan will be signing a $200M worth of agricultural goods under the Agricultural Trade Agreement.

Dili Embassy attack leaves hundreds dead
February 24 | Arthur Cranpim

Image
Images taken after the Dili attacks. More than 50 Australians were killed in the horrendous attack.

DILI, EAST TIMOR- The political and social situation in the small nation of East Timor has turned into complete anarchy as several political factions have all together abandoned the rule of law with many local politicians forming own separate private armies levied from local districts to fight for them.

The worsening situtation started almost 8 months ago, the East Timor government is its breaking point. The chaos started from small protests of the opposition party Liberal Movement Party regarding the current democratically elected government's inefficiency in addressing the country's problems as well as corruption and unequal distribution of oil incomes . Over the next few months from August to October, government police and LMP supporters clashed resulting to severe instability and loss of life. As the LMP support dramatically increased in those months, national agencies found it more difficult to continue providing basic government services leading to massive economic consequences as banks closed and unemployment skyrocketed.

Slow to act with these issues, the government announced a national state of emergency and requested help from the international community, most notably the CSN, however due to the Nigerian conflict, not much attention was given to the situation in East Timor. This lead to East Timor requesting help from its nearby ally, Australia on October 2018. The Australian government having been a longtime ally and a sender of humanitarian aid to the country helped the government crackdown on LMP supporters by sending technical aid in the form of military and civil advisers, the technical aid proved to be successful and during the month of November little to zero cases of instability and insurrection occurred, around the same time ,the Australian government recalled its technical advisers after the Australian government called its small aid a success and hoped that the events in East Timor would remain as is.

The Australian recall sends back thousands of Australian military advisers and civil servants back to Australia, leaving a rather stable government in East Timor. However, the LMP renewed its political activism once more as the last if the Australians left, this time using more deadly weapons such as knives, bats and pistols to raid government agencies and attack government official's homes. The attacks started a chain reaction of events as the economy quickly fell once more and as the East Timor government was incapable of enforcing its sovereignty on its own borders. As the economy plummeted, many East Timorese turned to the black market to make ends meet, especially drug and human trafficking, goods smuggling and piracy.

On December 2018, the Poess family were kidnapped by East Timorese pirates in their yacht during their vacation time off the coast of East Timor triggering once again Australian opinion in the country's situation. The Poess family were successfully rescued on early January but the situation in East Timor turned to the worst as a bad line of communications within the Dili police led to a mass shooting of protesting LMP supporters. The massacre killed more than a 100 people and injured thousands, and eventually led to the 43,000 man strong LMP to declare a military front against the national government and gains massive support as thousands of people follow their cause of equality.

However thousands of loyal government supporters flee from scenes of riots and most go to the Australian embassy for political asylum. Hundreds soon follow suit as the situation grows worse. Bolder LMP supporters finally take up arms and take over abandoned police equipment. Government forces stay strong in DILI but the surrounding southern coasts soon turned into a political power struggle between the LMP, government and several local politicians. On January 4 the Australian embassy in Dili, housing more than 639 refugees gets attacked by rebellious local politicans, leaving 11 dead East Timorese and 4 Private military contractors. The attacks leads to the Legislature House in Canberra debating on the notion of intervention in East Timor once again. The House on February 7 agreed in favor of intervention. Massive protests in Australia occurred as many saw intervention as another huge gamble of lives and government money.

Image
About 5,500 Australian soldiers will be deployed for the humanitarian mission,Operation Enduring Hope

Last February 19 to 21,over a 3-day course, an LMP contingent of more than 1,500 men and women armed with grenades, makeshift guns, rocket propelled grenades, bats and knives as well as several technicals attacked the Australian embassy in Dili which housed more than 730 refugees, mostly government supporters. A call for help was received by the nearby ANS Granthill LSD and a Chinook was sent but was turned back due to RPG fire. Although the embassy had more than 60 armed guards, 40 government troops and 20 military contractors, and an CV90 Armadillo infantry fighting vehicle, the overwhelming numbers, lack of ammunition and dwindling number of troops forced the embassy to accept an unconditional surrender on the early morning of the 22nd. A horrific massacre happened thereafter with LMP forces firing and hacking away at the government supporters seeking asylum in Australia. The Australian workers in the embassy were not exempted and several LMP supporters raped Australian women working as employees, while the men were beaten to the point of death.

If not for an arriving armed AH-17 on , the massacre of the embassy would've gone worse. The AH-17 crew were able to secure and enter the embassy compound and radio for help. On February 23, 10 Australian military trucks arrived with 200 Australian troops and evacuated the remaining survivors, 2 Chinooks extracted the Australian embassy employees directly to a nearby Australian LSD for medical treatment.

About 329 East Timorese were killed from the ensuing massacre, Of the 30 embassy employees 7 were killed, 16 of the 20 Australian women employees were raped, 4 killed after. Of the 60 armed guards that kept the standing for 3 long days, 44 were killed and 2 still missing, of the remaining 11, 8 were seriously wounded.

Such attack on an Australian embassy has caused shock waves to the nation-continent, with several conflicting groups, politicians and news medias finally uniting to support an intervention into East Timor and to bring to justice those who had committed such horrific attacks, notably the LMP. The hashtags #DiliAttacks, #StayStrongAustralia, and #RememberDili quickly became famous all across the world. On February 24th, the Legislature House finally passed the act to send 5,500 military soldiers to start Operation Enduring Hope, an intervention founded on the idea to bring stability to East Timor and to extinguish radical groups and associations that pose a serious threat to the stability of East Timor and Australia.

NAF, GU, NMF agree to new aircraft regulation

The governments of NAF, the GU, and French Confederation have agreed to a new series of aircraft safety regulations. The new laws will require all airlines, foreign and domestic, to have their aircraft certified to a standard agreed by all three authorities. Any aircraft who fail to meet the standard will be forced to provide a disclaimer to all of their customers, and be taxed 1.5% additional to any other charges. This will apply across the airspace of all three countries.

The first country to be officially given this warning are airlines from Bendicion.

The Continental Standard

Long live Europa

A CSN Speaker for Europe?

The Continental Standard has been able to arrange the following exclusive with CSN Speaker candidate Charles Dupont of the French Confederation. We hope that our readers find it informative.

INTERVIEWER: What is the greatest challenge facing the CSN?

DUPONT: "Without any doubt, Nigeria. The last war there, only a year ago, millions of people perished on two continents. And now half of the world has seemingly abandoned the CSN mission there. We cannot allow this to be the Yugoslavia of our time. If I am elected CSN Speaker, I shall work to keep Nigeria high on the international agenda. I shall lobby to improve the CSN deployments, and help ensure that stability may be restored."

INTERVIEWER: You have had a distinguished career to date; our DEU Ambassador, a reformer who created the DEU Assembly and many of the major opt-in projects, were the first to raise the topic of Nigeria in the CSN, was the leading figure behind the intervention authorization and peace settlement with the socialists there, hit the headlines in 2017 when you debated publicly against Mr Castillo over the DEU, helped establish alongside Mr Castillo the anti-tax evader IBRC, and was the architect of the DEU evacuation of civilians from Zambia and Krasendof. What has been your greatest achievement to date?

DUPONT: "Creating the DEU CHA. Being able to ensure that public healthcare is accessible to all across more of Europe is an idea that crosses boundaries and political alignments. I've made use of it myself, and have seen many of our DEU neighbors within our own Republic doing the same. I am proud of what Europe has achieved. And I hope that such humanitarian, de-politicized issues, may similarly be pushed at the CSN level. I do hope that the nations of the CSN take my record into consideration; our Sixth Republic has worked with many nations, of different alignments, in recent times. We hope to continue to do that on a range of topics."

INTERVIEWER: What do you think about the potential Speaker of Puertollano's comments surrounding South America being deserving of a chance at the office, rather than the historical North American and European domination?

DUPONT: "They are not wrong. I would like to see South America represented more globally. If I am not elected, it will not stop me from trying to cross alignments where possible to reach consensus. However, there can only be one Speaker. And so in this race we must be rivals, but that is just the way this system works. I am sure that as time goes on, regardless of who holds the position, we will continue to all do more together than apart. The same applies for the DEU Assembly and APN. Speaking of which, the French Confederation CSN Delegation will be hosting a party on the night that the CSN Speaker is elected. Win or lose all of the world's other CSN delegations, including my competitors in this race, are invited to attend."

We thank Mr Dupont for his time.
