Ariel - Double Denim

9:00 PM
Semerí Festival Arena

The fans had been piling into the grounds of Senmerí International Airport since the early afternoon. Some had splashed out on rickshaws but most had come via trolleybus from the city centre. As they gathered in the forecourt of Hangar 2b, transformed temporarily into the Senmerí Fetsival Hall, their was an atmosphere of cheer and joviality. Friends from across the multiverse reunited, excited for their annual musical therapy. Suddenly, the hangar doors of the arena rolled open and the crowd streamed in. Quickly finding their seats, the audience played along warmly to the warm-up, an intern from CháReTe with a megaphone, "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, YOU ARE ABOUT TO WITNESS THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!". Hyperbole?; quite possibly but the audience knew what he meant. The crowd roared in anticipation as the hangar doors began to roll shut, blocking out the light of the setting sun over the distant mountains and bathing the auditorium in thick darkness. The tension was palpable.

The triangular backdrop to the stage flickers alive revealing a visibly pregnant Nání, winner of the 19th World Hit Festival, standing in Darbar Square at sunset, the dying orange light making the ornate wooden carvings of the ancient temples and palaces burn with colour. Nání smiles into the camera, "Hello! Swagatam! Welcome to Chámelíyá - and welcome to Senmerí as we join together for one of the multiverse's greatest musical celebrations under one sky." The camera pans up from Nání and points into the hazy blue sky where the first stars twinkle dimly. As the camera pans down again, it reveals that it is no longer in Senmerí but in Sterblichengokai, the largest city in Tödlichebujoku - close runners up in the previous edition - and a previous host city of the World Hit Festival. After a few words in Suomi (subtitled in English) from Pilvi, the last Tödlichebujoki entrant the effect is repeated twice more featuring Senka and Alja Gammël from Izmedu and Kalosia respectively. All together, they represented the previous top countries still competing in the Festival - the montage set the whole time to the edition's theme tune. As the camera pans down for a final time it reveals all four singers, dressed up for the night, standing outside the hangar, a slight crack in the door letting light spill out into the cool night air. All together the laugh, "What are you waiting for?!" and turn around to run into the venue. The backdrop suddenly fizzles out and the auditorium is once more submerged in darkness.

Yále! (Let's Go!) - Mátangí & Malina Ráná
Jan Jan - Inga & Anush

The auditorium fills with blue as the backdrop comes to life once more, this time displaying the sheer edifice of the famous Hiuñchotí mountains at night, their crystal peaks glowing in the light of defined galaxies. Below it stand two silhouettes, stark against the ethereal illumination behind them.

Ooohh, hey!

Spotlights fade on, revealing the identities of these singing totems, Mátangí and Malina Ráná, winners of the 17th and 18th World Hit Festivals respectively, dressed in glittering, matching gold and red sárís. Traditional musicians dressed in slick, modern daurá surúwáls positioned on the angular platforms at the back of the stage stand and play the opening drones whilst lights flash and sweep around the arena. The cameras catch the singers share a quick smile in anticipation of the exposure the multiverse is about to experience to Chámelíyálí culture before Malina steps forwards towards the camera and begins the first verse.

Stars are aligned, songs so divine
My spirits primed for a musical sensation
Bells chime, release the ancient sounds
That last for eternity

Mátangí moves to Malina's side and the two exchange another smile before Mátangí steps away leading the camera slowly back towards the centre-front of the stage, her voice noticeably softer in contrast to Malina's more bombastic sound.

Infinitely, they set us free
Can’t you see our liberty?
In unity we shout bright and loud
We’re allowed to give this offering of sound
All nations here, make it clear, for all far and near

As the song transitions, the lights intensify and the drumming loudens. Malina paces back towards the centre-front to join Mátangí and the two begin to dance in synchrony, shimmying around the spot, letting their hands flow in enchantingly intricate and delicate gestures, and bellowing out the chorus.

Everybody move together, the sweet sound of one night
Every person come together, singing out under one sky
Everybody laugh together, joy that lasts ‘til you die
Every nation come together, singing out under one sky

The cameras cut to shots of the musicians gently swaying their bodies to the music as the flashing lights glint of their instruments. On stage, Mátangí and Malina stand back-to-back, the camera rotating around them as they playfully bounce the lyrics of the verse between each other, taking turns to sing - smiling with the knowledge that they have been given the honour of singing the first words of Chámelíyálí ever on the World Hit Festival stage.

Ke duhkha ho? Ke noksán ho?
What is pain? What is loss?

Ke hudina ali gít sañga
It's nothing when you have a little song

La, háñsnuhos! Hijo nasochnuhos
So laugh! Don't think about yesterday

Ája din tapáíko jíwan surúhunchha
Your life starts today

The singers turn around to face each other, holding each other with one outstretched arm and holding their microphones with the other. The irresistible rhythm compels them to gyrate their bodies in time to the beat.

Eutá ákásh muni nach, sabai gáuñchha, “Yále!”
Dance under one sky, everybody sings, "Let's go!"

Puráno átmá jagáuchha, tapáí birsanchha kas’rí?
Old spirits awake, how can you forget them?

Eutá ákásh muni háñs, sañsár gáuñchha, “Yále!”
Laugh under one sky, the world sings, "Let's go!"

Sundara átmá jagáuchha, tapáí birsanchha kas’rí?
Beautiful spirits awake, how can you forget them?

The two singers release their grip on each other and turn and step towards the front of the stage and call out to the audience encouraging them to join in. Behind them, there is a flurry of colour as five Lákhe dancers and five Kumárí dancers stream onto stage from the left and right, lining up behind Malina and Mátangí,

Singing out!
Singing out under one sky!

The Lákhe and Kumárí dancers begin their spinning dance - twirling like whirling dervishes, the weave themselves in and out of each other in a dizzying blur, their dresses of flying fabric circling around them in a chaos of colour. At the front of the stage Malina and Mátangí press the audience further to join in with the dance, holding hands and gently moving about to the music.

Yále! Yále! Come and join the dance
Brothers, sisters, join your hands while you have the chance
Taktuk taktuk taktuk taktuk taktuk taktuk
Tak digdig da digdig tak digdig da
Ombombe, dednde dednde dednde dednde dednda

The lights briefly slow their manic assault as the cameras close in on the singers' faces, singing serenely to each other and into the auditorium, welcoming the world to their home. The frenetic dancing behind them seems to have calmed also as the song appears to catch its breath.

Yále! Yálálálálá
Yále! Yálálálálá
Everybody visiting our home
Welcome, one and all!

The respite is short and the lights begin to flash again as the beat builds up once more whilst the Lákhe dancers lift the Kumárí dancers in the air and spin them around before resuming their crazed spinning again. Lines of drummers fill up the aisles in the auditorium and the camera pans around the audience capturing it stirring and moving to the music. On stage the singers push the crowd to make one last effort.

Everybody move together! Yále! Yále!
One last time let’s make it better!
Singing out!

A flash of pyrotechnics released from the stage's perimeter sets the audience alight as the lights flash and strobe and the aisles of drummers begin to fill the arena with the sound of thunder. On stage Malina and Mátangí dance freely as the belt out the last chorus to the dancing morass of a crowd before them, the sounds and colours of the performance overwhelming them completely.

Everybody move together, the sweet sound of one night
Every person come together, singing out under one sky
Everyone, laugh together, joy that lasts ‘til you die
Every nation come together, singing out under one sky

A final crack of fireworks brings the song to its climactic finale prompting the audience to howl and applaud wildly. As the dancers, musicians and drummers swiftly file off the stage and out of the auditorium, Malina and Mátangí remain on stage quickly catching their breath, beaming with delight. As the crowd begins to settle they tease it crying, "ARE YOU READY?!" into the microphones causing the fans to roar back their response. Laughing, they continue, "THEN LET THE 20TH WORLD HIT FESTIVAL BEGIN!"

At the start of the performance, the entire stage is smoke filled. Then when the duo 8-BOT enters, the music picks up. Smoke clears, sorta, and reveals the two bearing samurai blades. Just before they start singing, they cross blades 4 times.

Look at the things that surround you
Those that he just burnt up
Him mortal life is a failure
He doesn't know to stop

Some would say love's to be needed
That it all wounds may heal
Both wounds and love are defeated
(when you're) made of flesh and steel

Two duos of swordfighters enter, crossing swords every beat.
Samurai
Understand
There's nothing left to add

You can't die
You can't rest
Till your enemies are dead

When the music "distorts", one of the two singers swings his sword, which is dodged via a swift duck of the other.
Samurai
Feel his heat
What comes close to him's dead meat

He can fly
He can beat
He'll wipe you clean off your feet
Enter "Samurai", a man covered in metal armor, dual wielding swords and with a robotic helent on his head. He starts swinging at one of the dancing duos. For the next verse, 8-BOT turn towards the other duo.
Now take yourself now you mortal
To pay the greatest price
You leak, you thunder, and rumble
When you are put on ice
8-BOT have put on glasses and coats, pretending to be the creators of Samurai.
It isn't sure why we built him
Take our apology
However it's now a sure thing
We've technology
They turn towards Samurai for the chorus.
Samurai
Understand
There's nothing left to add

You can't die
You can't rest
Till your enemies are dead

---

Samurai
Feel his heat
What comes close to him's dead meat

He can fly
He can beat
He'll wipe you clean off your feet
---

The song ends with a fighting scene, involving blows between the members of 8-BOT, the dancers and Samurai. At last, Samurai "kills" 8-BOT at once, and they fall to the ground. For unknown reasons the dancers also fall to the ground at the same time, leaving Samurai standing.

Anollasia
Gone Forever - Alice Bellerose
Moon River - Audrey Hepburn

Image

Alice Bellerose is an Anollasian indie artist, born on April 7, 1987, in Jefferton, Anollasia. She was born into an upper middle class family of French descent and started taking piano lessons at the age of 6. Later on, Alice quit piano and started taking guitar lessons at the age of 15. She really enjoyed guitar and stuck with it, playing it in her spare time. Alice studied at the Jefferton Conservatory, however she soon dropped out because it was too formal and strict for her. Instead, she formed a duo with her boyfriend at the time, Marcos Yeşilgöz, and they were called A&M, however it didn't work and they broke up. Alice found a deal with Little Billy Studios, a small and shabby recording studio in the suburb of Bridgeley, making her be classified as indie (which she considers herself to be). She has released 2 studio albums, Alice (2011), and Wonderland (2014); this song is from that album. The Anollasian broadcaster NATV (National Anollasian Television) offered Alice Bellerose to be a candidate for the Anollasian entry in the 20th World Hit Festival and she accepted. She was quite happy when she found out she was chosen to go to the World Hit Festival, an international contest viewed by many.

Alice Bellerose (dressed as in the image) makes her way to the stage with her acoustic guitar. There is a single spotlight shining on a barstool at the front of the stage. There is nothing on the screen; she doesn't need fancy visuals or colours, pyrotechnics, effects or anything. Such a simple song doesn't need them anyway.

She sits on the barstool and starts playing the first few chords, gently. She sings softly into the microphone.

Gone forever
Leading up the aisle
I lost myself in smiles
That day

Now deep in hate and
It's getting late and
I'm tired of knowing
How much love it takes

The rest of the stage is illuminated, revealing a tightly packed orchestra, due to the lack of an orchestra pit. The conductor, behind Alice, gently starts conducting and a soft string accompaniment is heard while Alice slowly sings a little louder, especially during "It's gone, I cannot go".

Who's the winner?
Gone, the love that rose
It's gone, I cannot go
Back there

This is supposedly the climax. Alice sings louder and very passionately. There are even a few tears in her eyes. The orchestra is also louder.

We're stuck in
A lonely wonderland
Will you take my hand?
And try to understand?

Alice plays the final chords to wrap up the song and sings the last verses, closing her eyes and looking down slightly, waiting for the end.

Gone forever?
We'll see...

The orchestra continues playing that soft accompaniment even after Alice stops and a glockenspiel player plays three soft notes. However, most of this last part was inaudible, due to applause.

"Thank you!" Alice shouts before leaving the stage and the lighting is brought to as it was in the beginning: a single spotlight focused on a barstool.

Praciba
Carnise - Kaiser Friedrich Fantastisch
Parijs - Kenny B

Image
KFF during one of his Praciba-themed shows held in Chameliya before the WHF, showing that he can twerk as one of the best

As it becomes Praciba's time to perform, all lights are dimmed. Due to these dimmed lights, no one was able to make up what was happening on the stage except for the technicians and mechanics that were sent, among others, with the performers. Wearing night-vision goggles, they placed the required props for the performance and carried the performers to their places. While the performer was more than capable of moving himself, it was deemed safer for him to get carried to their place, as something would probably be knocked over or the artist could get seriously hurt in the dark. What many people didn't know was that these technicians and mechanics were often chosen from the best strongmen of Praciba, with popular strongmen such as Barþy 'Man Crusher' Kóngresson and þieðerick 'Femboy' Choulß often receiving a quick course on how to install the specialized Pracib equipment, seeing as regular technicians and mechanics lacked the power and raw strength to lift the equipment and the artists.

Monaéroglisseurest Pleindanguilles
The Second Law - Funka
Panic Station - Muse

The stage is dark and the audience wait in anticipation of what is to come. During the first three beats of the song, each of the three band members are illuminated in a different coloured spotlight, firstly Christophe, wearing this, in a red spotlight; then Etienne in this and under a green spotlight and finally, Mathieu - lead singer of the group - singer and lead guitarist of the group - under a blue spotlight and in this. Mathieu, playing his guitar, walks towards the microphone at the front of the stage with his spotlight following him. As he begins to sing, the lights flash and then settle at a normal level, but are a mixture of different colours. The background shows weird kaleidoscopic images and splatters of different colours. Throughout the first verse, the band themselves remain where they are, but obviously move around to the beat. Mathieu makes some odd poses as he's singing and is perhaps a little too enthusiastic.

As I fall apart again
To perfect symmetry (woah)
And I feel myself break
Into something fixed (fixed)
I feel myself flowing
Like heat that's growing cold (cold, cold)
And I kind of like it
And I don't know what for (for)

During the chorus, Mathieu walks around the stage, continuing to move to the music and generally look cool. The lights keeps on changing colour and the background looks very psychedelic at this point.

Woah...
I am breaking down again
And it feels good, this order from chaos
Oooh
The clock ticks down and my name is drawn from the hat
Well, heat death comes to us all

During the voice, Mathieu looks directly at the audience, as if addressing them. Lyrics in different bright colours occasionally pop up on the background, which is back to showing it's strange kaleidoscopic images.

They will try to disorder you
But you'll come back again (again)
There's no use in crying
The tears are not yours (yours)
You'll bring yourself back
At some point, eventually (ly,ly)
At the moment you are washed up
But you'll shine eventually (yeah, yeah)

A group of people in strange costumes of different animals such as elephants, foxes and octopuses, all with garish colours and something wrong with them, weather it bite marks, missing ears, giant wounds et al. They dance randomly on the stage during the chorus whilst the band continue to play.

Woah...
I am breaking down again
And it feels good, this order from chaos
Oooh
The clock ticks down and my name is drawn from the hat
Well, heat death comes to us all

During the near-instrumental section, the strange dancers continue to dance and for a while, the band appear to have been lost amongst the dancers. Then, the band begins to appear above the dancers, rising up above them. The cameras move around Mathieu, slowly gaining speed as they do so.

Woah
Hey
Yeah!
Woah
Woah

The cameras stop spinning around Mathieu, and go back to a view of everything, occasionally show views from the side. The dancers once again appear to be dancing randomly, but actually it's all carefully planned. The lights keep changing colour as they did before and coloured spotlights zoom around over the stage and audience. At the very end, there is a flurry of pyrotechnics.

Woah...
I am breaking down again
And it feels good, this order from chaos
Oooh
The clock ticks down and my name is drawn from the hat
Well, heat death comes to us all
Woah...
I am breaking down again
And it feels good, this order from chaos
Oooh
The clock ticks down and my name is drawn from the hat
Well, heat death comes to us all

The Way You Are - Ofelia del Grando
Help Me Lose My Mind ft London Grammar - Disclosure

A drawn face is on a screen; it bears a resemblance to Ofelia. As the song starts, she starts singing the song.

Talk to me, and watch me crumble
I will fade, when you see
Almost religiously, you came over
Somehow I, made it through
(Made it through)

A spotlight turns on in front of the face, revealing Ofelia. As she steps forwards, singing, the face behind also continues to lipsync.

It's just the way you are
You are that something that can't be defined
The way you are, make me wonder
Where were you before?
You keep making my time
Seem ever better then before
You were better then never

The face disappears from the screen; instead, two screens near it display the face, still lip syncing. Meanwhile, the kyrics to the song appear on the screen in the middle.

Innocence, has been washed over
Cautiously, you kept on through
Has it been easy, to come to you?
Somehow I, made it new
(I made it new)

And it's, it's the way you are
You are something that can't be defined
You have always made me wonder
What it was before
Keep on adding time
Just make it ever longer
For what I'm waiting for

Everything on the screens disappear during this part; a lone spotlight is focused on Ofelia.

I'll be waiting, waiting waiting (6x)

Ofelia still continues to sing. At the last two lines in the song, the faces and the lyrics reappear.

And it's, baby, the way you are
You are something that can't be defined
You have always made me wonder
What it was before
Keep on adding time
Just make it ever longer
For what I'm waiting for

The stage is completely black and when the music starts the contours of the triangular shapes on the stage are bouncing with the violet, pink and blue light. Łuka wears the black overalls that cover her whole body expect from head. It makes her almost invisible in the dark. However the linear glares on her suit that outline contours of some parts of her body reflects the light of the violet stage. The light from the reflector behind her moves like a beacon and shows some solidified silhouettes of the four dancers (two female and two male ones). Łuka starts singing the first part of the song standing on the big black cube. We can see only their dark contour.

I'm just like salt
With pepper spice
I have a taste
That makes them bite
My gentle skin
Wears heavy steel
I cannot move
I'm people-proof

The dancers instantly start moving with their hands. They're standing on the edge of the stage. They wear the same uniforms as the main singer but without the glares.

Being not allowed to love (love)
Makes me want it even more (more)

Suddenly the violet light inside the black cube under the singer's figure appears and it is spreading inside this solid during the following part of the song:

They shoot with their law
And cut with some words
But it won't break my confidence
The cube inside my chest

The blue, violet and pink lights illuminate the whole floor and the triangular "hills". The dancers form two pairs and perform their modern arrangement during the chorus. Now we are able to recognize Łuka's face. She staring at one point somewhere above the audience. She tries to be stiff. She doesn't gesture or moving her head. It gives her some frigid pose. The violet cube under her is bouncing and outshines Łuka's silhouettes.

My heart is in a cubic shape
Its edges are too sharp
My heart is in a cubic shape
Not a regular one
My heart is in a...

The dancers put their backs to the walls of the big cube. Each dancer abuts the other side of the solid. Łuka kneels and the cube starts rotating quite slowly. The second versus comes:

Angel wings
I'm covered with
And satan's horns
They see above
Their torches glow
In the name of God
They'll burn me down
Or bury me alive

Łuka lies on the top of the cube. The dancers make some poses like the robotic shadows on the walls of the cube.

Being not allowed to love (love)
Makes me want it even more (more)

The cube is slowly getting brighter and brighter during the following part. The stage seems to lose its colour. Every single violet, pink or blue light outside the cube gently disappears.

They shoot with their law
And cut with some words
But it won't break my confidence
The cube inside my chest

The cube becomes the brighter point of the stage and suddenly explodes with the dazzling flare of light. The dancers act as if they are rejected by the explosion. Unexpectedly Łuka's silhouettes appears in front of the white box - still stiff and without any emotions (they are only in her voice). The dancers continue their dancing routine in pairs.

My heart is in a cubic shape
Its edges are too sharp
My heart is in a cubic shape
It irritates their eyes
My heart is in a cubic shape
You cannot even sculpt
My heart is in a cubic shape
Not a regular one

The light goes off. We can only see the white glares on the Łuka's suit and the bouncing lines on the edges of the cube that is still rotating. The invisible dancers are running around the whole stage. They look like they're in the panic.

Being not allowed to love
Makes me want it even more
You cannot sculpt my cubic heart
The only way's to let it beat

The dancers fall down on the floor. The bright violet and white light outshine the singer's face and body. She makes some gentle gestures with her hands with every line of the following part of the song. The stream of light are getting wider with every sentence.

I can't believe it
My organ is a cube
I can't believe it
You can't believe it
They can't believe it
My organ is a cube

The stage is now covered with the pink, violet and blue light. The pairs of dancers are performing their routine more emotionally than before. Łuka stands towards the audience and sings to them the last chorus. Her black outfit has been torn by the two male dancers. Now she wears ethereal white dress.

My heart is in a cubic shape
Its edges are too sharp
My heart is in a cubic shape
It irritates their eyes
My heart is in a cubic shape
You cannot even sculpt
My heart is in a cubic shape
Not a regular one
My heart is in a...

Łuka and dancers extends their hands toward the bug cube freezing in stillness. The performance is over. The artists turn out and bow to the audience. Everything seems to be perfect.

Britonisea
Mental Courage - Timothy White
Impossible - James Arthur

Timothy White is a boy from Quickenden. Like other Britonish Singers, he was born in Quickenden and due to the amount of Quickendenese Record Labels, Music tuitions, schools and KEWQAE Options, Quickenden is the heart and hub of live music, and that's why Quickenden children are being sent to these big contests. Last World Hit Festival, we sent someone who wasn't from Quickenden, and they didn't do well. Tess Philipa gave the country one of the best scores in WorldVision, as did Mya Richardson. If Timothy White does well, he is to represent Britonisea next time Britonisea participates. He will go against 25-Year-Old-Group Pleasentz, who's performance is in the Opening Ceremony, in the Ifd Brityunik Groupeme Challenge. They will be up against 4 others. It will be the first time that Britonish Citizens AND international viewers vote for their participants, truly representing the nation.

The music started to play as he "Hummed" he came out in a dark suit. He walked slowly on to the stage and the microphone was in line with him. He then walks towards it and puts his mouth nears the mic as he starts to sing. The camera showed a shot of his face. His blue eyes glistened in the camera. He started;

One little spark in his eye,
Sparks my fly, but they will die,
Maybe this isn't right, I hope.
As a man, they tell you how
you should act macho and proud,
But what if I want to lay back, I did.

He had to sing a little bit louder, and so he took the mic out of the stand and decided to walk up and down the stage. The crowed applauded, only briefly, as the next part of the song began. The camera shot showed his face and swiveled around to the audience.

A mistake, how many lives did I break?
I pondered in the lake,
Made me notice, I lack the,

There was a pause. There was no sound from both the audience or him himself. The camera zoomed out from his face and in to the audience as the stage turned a bright orange colour.

Mental courage, it's all in my mind.
It gets you through the jungle,
Past the satellites.
Look at that little child,
Begging for the sunlight,
No mental courage, he is broken inside.

On the stage, there was a picture of a boy who looked malnourished. He pointed at the boy.

No one cares, no one's able,
to turn around and pick you up.

Looking at my childhood,
If I could go back I should,
But life isn't so easy, but I would,
I would!
Looking at my weakest faults,
I shaped the head, my soul now halt,
I thought it's easier as an adult, thought I could alt,
The world!

Two people brought on this velvet blue material across the stage and the camera went across it, and then zoomed in on his face.

A mistake, how many lives did I break?
I pondered in the lake,
Made me notice, I lack the,

The two threw the material in the air and it turned orange. The camera flew in to the air.

Mental courage, it's all in my mind.
It gets you through the jungle,
Past the satellites.
Look at that little child,
Begging for the sunlight,
No mental courage, he is broken inside.

No one cares, no one's able,
to turn around and pick you up.

One little spark in his eye,
Sparks my fly, but they will die,
Maybe this isn't right, I it

Sparklers start to fall down. Glowing a magnificent orange colour across the arena, he starting to almost plead to the audience, the audience who cheered and stood up in respect for the pictures of malnourished inable children in need.

Throw him some courage,
Give him some sunlight,
Make hit future look bright

What you'll do is perfect,
What you'll do is worth it,
Show him your courage,

Everytime he sang a high note he was bending over as he could feel the pain rising for his legs and throughout. It almost hurt him to belt out a note. But he done it correctly, so far, he hasn't gone off tune, which was good for a live performance. He wants to represent the 42nd contest for Britonisea; that's if Britonisea qualifies for the 42nd contest.

As no one cares, no one's able,
to turn around and pick you up.
As no one cares, no one's able,
We lack, mental courage

"Thanks Chameliya. Thanks" he said walking off the stage.

Normandy and Picardy
Messages - Small Lords
The Mother We Share - Chvrches

Small Lords have competed at WHF before (WHF17, in Cherbourg) where they came 4th, and after the rather disappointing result last time the group have been brought back in to try and help Normandy and Picardy do well again. The group is made up of Elissa Verend, the singer of the group, and Simon Grasven and André Serevin, who are the groups instrumentalists. They all live and work in the capital, Caen, where they have all lived since they were young; they first created the group whilst at university, and were spotted soon after by BNRT Music (The government-owned record label; yes, we have one). They have since had a successful career, that was helped even more by WHF, and have now had a series of Number 1 hits in Normandy and Picardy and relative success on foreign charts, mainly through fans from WV. This song was written especially for the contest, and will be separate from their upcoming album (The Bones). The song itself could have multiple meanings in the lyrics, although the two most popular theories are that either it is a simple tale of lost love than was doomed to fail, or that it is a song about the environment, written as if after the effects of global warming have become apparent. The band themselves have it quiet, although their performance is pretty certain to make it obvious.

The lights, tinted blue, fade on as the song begins, revealing Elissa standing in the middle of the stage, with Simon and André at either side of her with their synthesizers and other equipment, which have been decorated with green vine like stuff. This could confirm the environmental message but could also represent the decay and breaking down of a relationship. Elissa is wearing this] dress, and stands very close to her microphone stand. The stage is covered by a layer of smoke, which takes on the slightly blue tint of the lights. Throughout the first verse, not much happens, with the cameras panning around Elissa and the other two.

Open your eyes
To a dreary scene
As it all falls down
Everything that we-e-e built
But don't you see?
We brought it on ourselves
No matter what we do
There is no one to turn to

As the chorus begins, on the left and right sides of the stage something begins to come out of a small trapdoor. They appears to be factory chimneys, and smoke comes out of the top of it. The lyrics of the chorus are written randomly across it. This pretty much seemed to confirm the environmental message, but it could also represent how a relationship can turn dark, with this being represented by smoke, although this is a very tenuous link. Elissa takes the microphone from the stand and walks toward the front of the stage, slowly throughout the chorus. By the end, the chimneys are at their full height.

The messages came thick and fast
But we ignored them
No matter how much we try
We'll always damage something
Was what we did wrong or right
It isn't up to me
Never say anything 'cause
This is what we did

The lights begin to change from blue to red, slowly throughout the verse. Not much else happens now, and the camera again pans around, showing Elissa and the chimneys.

Are you happy now?
The battle's lost
The destruction wrought
And no-o-o-o-othing gained
As the water rises
Fuelled by our tears
Just remember that
This was our fault

The lights intensify and finally become red as the chorus begins, but not much else happens until the end of the chorus. Elissa 'finds' a tree stump within the fog and sits down on it, acting as if she is close to death. This again seems to confirm the environmental message, but could show how relationships can be cut short or be destroyed with great force, like the force required to cut down a tree.

The messages came thick and fast
But we ignored them
No matter how much we try
We'll always damage something
Was what we did wrong or right
It isn't up to me
Never say anything 'cause
This is what we did

Elissa sits on her tree stump, and the cameras are zoomed in on her face, showing nothing else. The lights are vey dim, and there is a very ethereal feel.

What was once was green
And full of life
Has been left desolate
By us-u-us-u-us-us-us
You know we did this
No question about it
Now the results are here
And now we know-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow

As the chorus begins for the last time, the background first shows a burst of light which due to the positioning of Elissa and the cameras make it look like a halo around Elissa's head. The lights become blue and intensify once again, but not enough so that the LED screen can be clearly seen. The background then shows pictures who have been affected by what has been cause by human industry, including pollution and climate change, as if the audience didn't guess what the message of the song was already.

The messages came thick and fast
But we ignored them
No matter how much we try
We'll always damage something
Was what we did wrong or right
It isn't up to me
Never say anything 'cause
This is what we did

Gim
Loneliness - Visual Singer
Will Be Alone - Kim Bum-Soo

Visual Singer (Born January 26, 1979), is a Gimian R&B and soul singer famous for his smooth vocals and emotive ballads. Particularly, he is noted for the song, "I miss you". This song became the theme song of a Gimian drama, "Stairway to Heaven". Visual Singer is the nickname of the singer, referring to his penchant to wearing large pairs of glasses to offset his mediocre appearance.

The performance and the outfit of the singer is the same as what is shown in the following: Performance

I turned my back silently,
But I cannot make steady my empty heart,
There are still so much to say to you,
But my throat is dried by the painful heart,
And I remained quiet.

I will look back at the past days,
and I will wander through numerous memories,
as the long night begins.

Chorus:
I will comfort my loneliness,
I'm not afraid of goodbyes,
I can hold back my tears but,
Being alone makes me sad.

I will look back at the past days,
and I will wander through numerous memories,
as the long night begins.

Chorus:
I will comfort my loneliness
I'm not afraid of goodbyes
I can hold back my tears but
Being alone makes me sad

As the performance ends, the singer waves his hand at his fans and departs the stage.

Forgive It For Love - Lumikellot
How Deep Is You Love ft Disciples - Calvin Harris

Lumikellot is a music group from Blutigenteikei made up of singer Airi Wedekind and electronic musician Fester Saito. Occasionally compared to Talons, Lumikellot is less experimental and more pop-oriented than the WorldVision entrants, and with "Forgive It For Love", much catchier than "Last Words". With SterGo100's tantalizingly close finish in WHF19, the broadcaster is hoping to continue its streak of high placings.

The stage faintly glows blue, then goes dark. It then flickers white to the beat, and spotlights slowly illuminate Airi
Oooh...

I want you to stand here
Look into my eyes
Hold my hands and feel me
We're together, for life

She reaches out, and a subtle magenta pulses along the sides of the stage to the beat
Forgive it for love

She brings her arm back and closes her eyes
Just forget the silence
Forgo the violence
For us

Forgive it for love

An illustration of a rose, split in half, rejoins on the screen
We can make us stronger
Hate no longer
Live free

An image of a shattered plate dissolves to ashes and blows away on the screen
Forgive it for love
Forgive it for love
Forgive it for love

Just forget the silence
Forgo the violence
For us

The stage continues pulsing to the beat
Forgive it for love
Oh... Oh.. Oh..
Forgive it for love
Oh... Oh.. Oh..

She stares toward the audience, then shakes her head after the end of the second pair of lines, where the rose reappears and dies but then resurrects
Do you want to have me
Together till we die

Unless you want to leave me
Just do it, but still

Forgive it for love

Just forget the silence
Forgo the violence
For us

Forgive it for love

We can make us stronger
Hate no longer
Live free

She lets her voice loose, and additional white flashes join the magenta pulses
Forgive it for love
Forgive it for love
Forgive it for love
Forgive it for love

Just forget the silence
Forgo the violence
For us

Forgive it for love
Oh... oh... oh...
Forgive it for love
Oh... Oh.. Oh..
Forgive it for love

Fester, just barely lit, begins in Suomi
Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi rakkaudesta? (Can you forgive it for love?)
Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi minulle? (Can you forgive it for me?)
Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi rakkaudesta?
Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi minulle?

Forgive it for love

Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi rakkaudesta?
Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi minulle?

Forgive it for love

Airi and Fester sing over each other, as the flashes of the lights become more gradual and blend into one another
Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi rakkaudesta?
Be together, for life
Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi minulle?
Forgive it for love
Oh... oh... oh..
Forgive it for love
Oh... oh... oh..
Forgive it for love

Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi rakkaudesta?
Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi minulle?

Forgive it for love

Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi rakkaudesta?
Voitteko te antaa sen anteeksi minulle?

The stage flickers for a final time, then goes dark

"Thank you, kiittos all!" the two shout and leave the stage.

Lydia Korsikanë entered the music industry at the age of 17. She is now 21 and is working on her second album. Due to the format of the 14th Festival di Melodi Kalosiana, she entered the national final with her younger sister, Laura. As she won the competition, her sister will represent Kalosia at the 2nd Junior World Hit Festival.

On the stage, there was a white piano where Lydia, wearing this, was seated at. The background screen is off. To the side there were also 3 violinists. Lydia plays the opening notes to the song.

Ja zejo lë vocë
Di natur
Abit su nuša terra

E këlki ja faro
Ja penšo di te
Vedro ten faco bella

In this next part, the camera alternates between the violinists and Lydia.
Men vitë se
Un kanzonë
Ǧore perteži

As the chorus begins, the camera gives full attention to Lydia.
Ja aprežo men vitë ur
Ma kuanto timpo rimanëz?
Në sano sa puvo dirë adiu
Kadë’l moment venurë
A te

A brown gradient slowly emerges on the background screen.
Sento teži feliž
Kadë tu šui
Kadë sederti e eškolti a me

Fari men vitë fare
Un lussuria
Šuaki fot tu soriri a me

Again, the camera alternates between Lydia and the violinists.
Men vitë se
Un kanzonë
Ǧore perteži

In this next part the gradient in the background slowly turns into a picture of an evening sky.
Ja aprežo men vitë ur
Ma kuanto timpo rimanëz?
Në sano sa puvo dirë adiu
Kadë’l moment venurë
A te

Stars could be seen in that sky and they could be seen moving as if it were a time lapse.
Ja, ja
Vulo resti kon me
Ja, ja
T’amirar dë men korë
Ja, ja
Vulo dirë a te
Nël laša

The sky in the background turned a lighter blue (as if it was daytime).
Ja zejo lë vocë
Di natur
Abit su nuša terra

E këlki ja faro
Fa dolur penša
Penša di te laša me

Pirže men vitë
Se un kanzonë
Ǧore perteži

The background picture slowly faded to black in the next part.
Ja aprežo men vitë ur
Ma kuanto timpo rimanëz?
Në sano sa puvo dirë adiu
Kadë’l moment venurë

The background screen was off once again
Ja aprežo men vitë ur
Ma kuanto timpo rimanëz?
Në sano sa puvo dirë adiu
Kadë’l moment venurë
Sa tu diri adiu
A me

Lydia played the final notes and the song ended. She received a warm ovation from the crowd, who seemed to like it. Before she left the stage, she thanked the audience, saying "Thank you! Gretsi Camelija!"

Saying Goodbye

I follow the voice
Of nature
Living on our earth

And whatever I do
I think of you
I see your beautiful face

My life is
A song
It plays forever

I appreciate my life now
But how much time is left?
I don’t know if I can say goodbye
When the moment comes
To you

I always feel happy
When you’re here
When you sit and listen to me

You make my life become
A luxury
Every time you smile at me

My life is
A song
It plays forever

I appreciate my life now
But how much time is left?
I don’t know if I can say goodbye
When the moment comes
To you

I, I
Want you to stay with me
I, I
Love you from my heart
I, I
Want to tell you
Don’t leave

I follow the voice
Of nature
Living on our earth

And whatever I do
It hurts to think
To think of you leaving me

Because my life
Is a song
It plays forever

I appreciate my life now
But how much time is left?
I don’t know if I can say goodbye
When the moment comes

I appreciate my life now
But how much time is left?
I don’t know if I can say goodbye
When the moment comes
If you say goodbye
To me

Chámelíyá
Déjà Vu - Anu Támáng
In The Sun - She & Him

After three consecutive wins with three undisagreeable middle-of-the-road pop songs, CháReTe was increasingly coming under pressure by viewers and music connoisseurs to focus less on contest rankings and more on showcasing less well known Chámelíyálí musical talents. Their choice of Anu Támáng was therefore, by all means, a rather leftfield one. Támáng, an English literature student at the University of Chámelíyá and virtually unknown even in her native Soráng* music scene, first discovered rock and roll during her year of study abroad in the SLU. Now in her fourth, and final, year, her song Déjà Vu covers the themes of karma, reincarnation and the mundanity of modern-day life. *a university town in eastern Chámelíyá
The lights flicker as the opening drum beat kicks in before settling on a bright, but not garish, golden glow that bathes the stage. As the opening notes drone away, the camera pans serenely down a row of animal-headed people standing calmly in line - some wearing suits with others in casual day wear, all clutching various everyday objects like flip-up mobile phones, handbags and briefcases. As the camera reaches the end of the queue it focusses on Anu Támáng wearing a summer dress leaning uninterestedly on an old bus stop sign. She looks tiredly into the camera and begins to sing. Behind her, on the backdrop, a silent film plays of Anu indifferently walking backwards down a central Senmerí street whilst everyone around her goes about their daily business.

We
Get out of bed
Just to say things already said
What is the point of life
If there is never some spice?

A rabbit-headed business man taps Anu on the shoulder, turning her to face him and holding her in a short embrace. Anu then falls into the arms of the owl-headed schoolgirl next to the rabbit before spinning round to the elephant-headed builder next to her. The camera follows Anu down the line as she pirouettes, leaps and floats into the arms of each animal person whilst she sings. The animal people sway gracefully in time to the music and join in for the chorus.

Déjà vu
Déjà vu
This again
This again
I’ve been here before but I cannot explain
The future's lost but I try
To keep my
Head up high

The final animal in the line, a warthog-headed athlete, places Anu gently onto the stage after momentarily lifting her into the air and he and the other animal people promptly leave Anu on her own in the middle of the stage (taking the bus stop sign with them). On the backdrop behind her, Anu continues to walk backwards down the street, her eyes vacant and sleepy and her mouth surreptitiously yawning.

There’s
No moving on
From the things I keep doing wrong
Wait to die every day
Just to be reborn again

The spotlights focus on Anu keeping her brightly illuminated in the centre of stage as the animal people pair up around the perimeter of the stage and begin to ballroom dance briskly around her. Anu continues to sing to the audience, into the camera, seemingly unaware of the surreal spectacle surrounding her as the cameras capture brief flashes of swirling dress and waltzing animal faces as they whirl past the cameras.

Welcome back
Welcome back
Yesterday
Yesterday
Looking for tomorrow but it’s just the same
Getting fed up of today
But it stays
Never fades

The animal people slow down their dance and begin to hop gaily towards Anu in the centre of the stage, congregating around her and nodding cheerfully in time to the music. Anu remains oblivious to the menagerie encircling her.

So I guess
So I guess
That it’s true
That it's true
The world keeps spinning but it never renews
There’s no one to answer to
Thanks to you
Déjà vu

The stage darkens as the street on the backdrop fades away leaving the profile of Anu staring emptily out into the audience from blackness. The lights around the backdrop swivel and pivot letting their silver beams sweep the auditorium. On the stage, a frog-headed grandmother hands Anu her slightly battered semi-acoustic guitar whilst an eagle-headed youth in a hoodie places a creaky old apple box with 'Ijchhádhárí Soch' ('Wishful Thinking') scrawled on in dark marker at her feet. Anu takes the guitar and steps up onto the apple box without acknowledging the frog and the eagle and begins to play confidently on the guitar. The animal people pace backwards away from the raised Anu and begin to skip and frolic freely in a cricle around her, pulling out streamers from their sleeves and waving them dreamily in the air. The camera cuts between shots of the galloping, dancing animals and of Anu playing the final riff. The lights begin to pulsate as the riff nears its climax. Suddenly, as the guitar cuts out the animals fall to the floor and all the lights go out save a single one on Anu who stands and holds her guitar triumphantly in front of the roaring home crowd. Visibly overwhelmed, all she can manage is a nervous "Thank you! Dhanyabád!", desperately hoping that her performance will go down with the multiverse as well as it did with the audience.

Jika Kau Tidak Separah (If You're Not As Bad As I) - Siska
Há Um Mar Que Nos Separa - Leonor Andrade

Siska had previously participated in the World Hit Festival 15, with the song Nilai Sempurna Hanya Mimpi (Ku Telah Berusaha) which was originally written for the WorldVision Song Contest. She was asked to return to the WHF stage with a new song this time.

On the stage, there was a band playing behind her, and the background showed a picture of a moving road, making the impression that Siska and the band were moving towards the screen/audience. The lights were dim.
Malam sekali, aku galau
Pusing memikirkannya
Cinta yang sedih ini telah hancur
Tampaknya kau tertarik mendekati aku
Apa yang harus kulakukan?

The lights became bright.
Jika kau tidak separah
Cintaku yang sebelumnya
Maukah engkau menjadi
Kekasihku selamanya?

Matahari, telah terbit, hari baru
Dan lagi kita bertemu
Kau memberikanku sepuluh bunga mawar
Apakah cinta bersemi lagi?

Jika kau tidak separah
Cintaku yang sebelumnya
Maukah engkau menjadi
Kekasihku selamanya?

Jika kau tidak separah
Cintaku yang sebelumnya
Maukah engkau menjadi
Kekasihku selamanya?

Engkau tidak separah

The song ended, the crowd cheered (although not as loudly as some entries), and Siska left the stage after saying "Terima kasih! Thank you Chameliya!"

Late night, I'm yearning
Headache from thinking of it
This sad love is destroyed
It seems you're interested in being close to me
What should I do?

If you're not as bad
As my previous love
Would you want to be
My pair, forever?

The sun, has arisen, a new day
And again we meet
You give me 10 roses
Is love blossoming again?

If you're not as bad
As my previous love
Would you want to be
My pair, forever?

If you're not as bad
As my previous love
Would you want to be
My pair, forever?

You're not as bad

Christarnea
Dziewięćset Dziewięćdziesiąt Dziewięć (999) - Kobaltova
Naucz Mnie - Sarsa

Kobaltova and the three male dancers enter the stage. The men wear loose golden trousers but their chests are naked and covered with tattooed nines. The singer wears a long black dress that reminds the one from her videoclip. The screen shows the translated lines of the song lyrics in a form of modern lyric video with golden, black and white colours. At the beginning the three men are standing still in a row behind Kobaltova. The intro part is accompanied by the dynamic golden reflectors around the stage.

Jeden pocałunek i jestem w niebie
Niewolnicą słów: "Kocham Ciebie"
Dziewięćset dziewięćdziesiąt dziewięć
Tyle chcę...

But then the stage is black with some white light on the contours of the triangular scenery. Kobaltova has an eye contact with the camera man that circuits her and the audience. The dancers still stand at the background doing nothing. The artist seems to be imperious and independent. Her gestures show grace and femininity.

W mej głowy zakątkach, w trzech cyfrach - dziewiątkach
Niczym omen zły schowałeś się ty.
Zmusiłeś szatana by stanął na głowie
Choć zbędny mi on, mam go w tobie

She walks across the edge of the stage waving and smiling to the people in the hall. The dancers keep their eyes on her.

Wiedz, że mnie nie zdobędziesz
Płomieniem piekielnym
Nie kręci mnie jego moc
Ja chcę byś boskim pierwiastkiem
Mnie zmienił na zawsze
Przepędził z mych trzewi zło

The scene becomes golden and white. The air from the wind machine dispels the dress. Kobaltova stands in the central part of the stage. Her long dress is waving in the air. The dancers come closer and perform their arrangement that reminds some tribal routine. They look as if they are fighting. Kobaltova observes their efforts singing the chorus.

Jeden pocałunek i jestem w piekle
Niewolnicą pragnącą wściekle
Dziewięćset dziewięćdziesiąt dziewięć
Tyle rzeczy złych o tobie wiedzieć
Jeden pocałunek i jestem w niebie
Służebnicą słów: "Kocham Ciebie"
Dziewięćset dziewięćdziesiąt dziewięć
Tyle razy chcę ci to powiedzieć

She comes closer to the three men and gently flirts with them touching their chests and whispering in their ears. They are looking at her with a kind of wild lust in their sight. They are kneeling and crawling following her steps when she travels across the stage.

Jak Gabriel Archanioł na skrzydłach swych zanoś
Mi szczęście i płacz jednocześnie
Lecz nie myśl, że wiecznie oznacza bezpiecznie
Odetchnąć mi daj tak od siebie.

Wiedz, że mnie nie zdobędziesz
Swym czystym sumieniem
Bo grzeszną naturę mam.

The dancers catch the cloths of her dress and dancing in a circle around her. The light is getting brighter and the golden light are getting crazy.

Jeden pocałunek i jestem w piekle
Niewolnicą pragnącą wściekle
Dziewięćset dziewięćdziesiąt dziewięć
Tyle rzeczy złych o tobie wiedzieć
Jeden pocałunek i jestem w niebie
Służebnicą słów: "Kocham Ciebie"
Dziewięćset dziewięćdziesiąt dziewięć
Tyle razy chcę ci to powiedzieć

The singer pull the pieces of the fabric and the long dress turns into the shorter one. The dancers fall on the floor and crawling towards the audience. The piece of cloths serve as some kinfd of leashes. She holds them all in her right hand following the men.

I w ogniu piekielnym stopimy się w jeden kształt.
A w wietrze niebieskim niech ostudzą w porę nas.

Kobaltova release the leashes and the dancers stand up in front of her. They're performing their tribal dance routine each one on his own. Kobaltova walks across the whole stage making slalom among the performers keeping the eye contact with the audience, the camera and the dancers.

Jeden pocałunek i jestem w piekle
Niewolnicą pragnącą wściekle
Dziewięćset dziewięćdziesiąt dziewięć
Tyle rzeczy złych o tobie wiedzieć
Jeden pocałunek i jestem w niebie
Służebnicą słów: "Kocham Ciebie"
Dziewięćset dziewięćdziesiąt dziewięć
Tyle razy chcę ci to powiedzieć

Kobaltova secretly disappears somewhere in the background. The dancers bow towards the people in the hall. We can only hear loud Kobaltova's "Thank you" from behind the scenery. What a show!

One kiss and I'm in heaven
A slave of the words "I love you"
Nine hundred ninety nine
I want as many...

In the corners of my head, in the three digits - the nines
Like the bad omen, you have hidden.
You made the satan stand on his head
Although he's useless for me, I've got him in you

Know that you won't reach me
With the hellish flame
Its power doesn't turn me on
I want you to change me forever
With a divine element
Banish the evil from my entrails

One kiss and I'm in hell
A slave that wants madly
Nine hundred ninety nine
To know as many sinful things about you
One kiss and I'm in heaven
A handmaid of the words "I love you"
Nine hundred ninety nine
I want to tell you this as many times

Like the archangel Gabriel bring on your wings
Joy and tears for me at once
But don't think that always means safe
Let me take a break from you

Know that you won't reach me
with your pure conscience
Because I have a sinful nature

One kiss and I'm in hell
A slave that wants madly
Nine hundred ninety nine
To know as many sinful things about you
One kiss and I'm in heaven
A handmaid of the words "I love you"
Nine hundred ninety nine
I want to tell you this as many times

And in the hellish fire we will liquefy into a one shape
And in the heavenly wind they will cool us down on time

One kiss and I'm in hell
A slave that wants madly
Nine hundred ninety nine
To know as many sinful things about you
One kiss and I'm in heaven
A handmaid of the words "I love you"
Nine hundred ninety nine
I want to tell you this as many times

One kiss and I'm in hell
A slave that wants madly
Nine hundred ninety nine
To know as many sinful things about you
One kiss and I'm in heaven

RTI's WHF team knew that they've been riding on a wave of good fortune since Izmedu's return to the contest two editions ago, with Senka attaining the country's first podium result and a 3rd place finish that, while seeming unlikely due to WHF19's voting order and came as a relief once the voting had fully played out, no one had truly expected. While Senka had been something of a risky choice due to a perceived stigma of older singers using WHF to revive their careers, RTI knew that the song had played to the melancholic theme that Izmedu has sent in each WHF. While undoubtedly that it has brought good results, it was high-time to take risks and approach WHF a little differently. Senka's good result only encouraged the mindset further, and thus RTI searched the music scene with a different set of criteria.

The eventual entrant, Maja Krznar, was selected after countless searches turned up no good singers suitable for WHF20. Of course, this wasn't Maja's first brush with the World Hit Festival, for she had presented the Izmeduan votes in Kasin and was also part of the WHF19 shortlist that RTI had created during its search last edition. Her selection was spurred on by RTI contacting those in former shortlists to send a song for consideration, and Maja, realizing that this could be an opportunity to further her singing career, sent in a few rough demos to WHF in the hopes that at least one song would catch their attention. To her surprise, within a week of sending the songs to RTI, Maja Krznar had been chosen with one particular song being singled out.

Maja, hailing from the upper regions of Izmedu in the district of Palatocka, spent her early life in a small municipality called Lišaj. From a young age, Maja had discovered her penchant for singing and songwriting, finding it to be a therapy in an unstable and dangerous home and local environment. Her childhood in Lišaj was spent during Izmedu's period as a totalitarian state, where secret police would often come to the crime-riddled district and try to 'resolve' crime via mysterious disappearances of criminals. Initially lauded as a great tactic against crime along with such methods automatically entering the propaganda of the time, Maja had discovered that these mysterious disappearances had served to worsen the crime situation in Lišaj and the surrounding municipalities. Organized and professional crime took a new life of its own under the situation made petty and visible crimes almost impossible to commit, and Maja could recount more experiences of violence, threatened or real rather than the times she could be a normal child. There were certain experiences she wouldn't dare speak of, such as a murder of a family member she witnessed with her own eyes and the bizarre, almost unknown circumstances of it that even she herself was unable to comprehend.

These experiences had naturally affected Maja's sound and musical interests, leaning towards more soul and blues as well as harsher lyrics rather than the straight-up pop that most upcoming young singers tend to default to. In fact, the blues style as well as the mournful and yet simultaneously aggressive tone she carried was her claim to fame, with the release of an album entitled nowhere (lower-case intentional), an album centered around the themes of violence and living in a world that continuously puts your life in danger, garnering significant critical acclaim despite not doing well commercially. The experiences from the past had invariably formed the basis of her musical style and identity, and that was more evident in the entry she had sent, entitled 'Outlaw,' the very song that caused RTI to jump on the Maja Krznar ship immediately.

The song had been created due in part to an expressed desire to find a newer, more upbeat sound, while remaining true to the themes she has stuck to. It was written in the perspective of trying to convey the power-hungry criminal, the 'outlaw' who disregarded morality, which was an odd experience for Maja as she often wrote the reverse. The end result was something that she hadn't expected, different from what she had envisioned, reading almost like a narrative of confrontation interlaced with the original themes she had in min. Though it wasn't the expected product, Maja submitted the song anyway, feeling confident about it, and now it is Izmedu's WHF20 entry.

Maja took a few deep breaths before she went on stage. There was a certain pressure of being the last act to perform. Initially calm at the beginning of the show, anxiety began to build as nation after nation performed, and it hit its peak as soon as it was Izmedu's turn to the WHF stage. Maja stepped onto the stage, hoping that the song she had would resonate and make an impression to the multiverse...

The stage was darkened as final preparations were set, with Maja standing in the center in front of a microphone stand that she was holding, with mic already near her mouth. A few seconds passed before an fast-paced piano notes rang out, signaling the first few seconds of the song. Digital smoke resembling that of gunfire started to materialize on the screen. Maja then began to sing, a spotlight immediately shining upon her revealing her to be wearing this ensemble (along with flats instead of the heels in the picture).

Walked away in ice cold blood
Saw you pull the trigger
I thought you were beyond your petty, tired vendettas

As she sang, Maja placed one hand to her hips and cocked her head to the side after the second line, a tired look in her eyes indicative of the lyrics. The camera kept a distance from her, though an eye roll was clearly visible at she sang the third line.

Did my time and played the game
Guess that wasn't enough
Never asked for the bounty on my head, but that's life

An additional beat was added to first verse's continuation, which caused the screen to flash white, making the smoke black, as well as stage lights to also flash to the beats. Maja began to sway slightly to the beat, with the camera beginning to take more dynamic angles and switching them per two beats.

Now it's all come down to this
Two lives at a showdown
Fighting over pride and glory
For who killed the other

An auxiliary drumbeat was added, with the stage lights flashing in threes to the new beat while the main triangular screen maintained the original beat. The camera caught a close-up of her at the last line, doing a sweep and catching an annoyed and bemused look in her expression.

You sold yourself to the devil
You thought you knew everything
But if anyone here's going home tonight, it won't be you

The camera switched to a sweeping view of the stage as the screen flashed in various colors, primarily alternating between white, black, blue, red, or yellow, changing the smoke which had also began to billow strong. The lights also flashed to the beat, some timed and some sporadic. Maja held the microphone stand close to her and began grooving to the chrous' louder and higher volume beats and giving it her all vocally.

You messed with the wrong woman
Simply put, I'm an outlaw
Capable of destroying you
There's a reason I'm still here

Maja tilted herself and the microphone stand slightly forward as she sang, with her stopping the groove temporarily and returning to it once she tilted it back. The camera switched to a close-up of her for the final line of the chorus, a look of self-assurance as she closed the chorus. Maja took the microphone off the stand and stepped in front of it, with the lights turning off and the screen returning to the black background with the smoke fading away somewhat.

I see that fear in your eyes
Begging for my mercy
Just know that it's not my style
Crime and chaos are my cards

Similar to the previous verse, the lights and the screen resumed their flashes with the beat. Maja had also began to snap her fingers to the beat and walking along the edge of the stage. The camera, initially on a wider view of the stage, switched to a close-up, with Maja singing the last two lines directly to the viewers at home.

You hear the sirens out there?
Bet you can't outrun them.
True felons walk away clean
I'll just leave you to the dogs

The smoke clouds on the screen began to increase in size and volume, as it flashed a subtle red and blue that succeeded the regular white flashes. The camera circled around Maja as she walked to the center-back, closer to the screen.

You sold yourself to the devil
You thought you knew everything
But if anyone here's going home tonight, it won't be you

The stage lit up with the flashes from the light and the screen that were a repetition earlier from the chorus. Since Maja was without a stand, she made fast movements pointing forward, as if she were intimidating a person.

You messed with the wrong woman
Simply put, I'm an outlaw
Capable of destroying you
There's a reason I'm still here

Maja grooved during the chorus' second half, with the camera maintaining its distance and circling around here as the lights continued their flashing, though the smoke from earlier was starting to dissipate during this chorus.

The song immediately went into its instrumental interlude, with the lights immediately shut off and with the screen now devoid of smoke, and now showing black and white vertical bars that were moving horizontally, with some of the bars also moving upwards or downwards. Maja simply grooved along to the interlude, with the camera switching to a circular view of Maja to one that put her in front of the screen.

You sold yourself to the devil
You thought you knew everything
But if anyone here's going home tonight, it won't be you

The lights returned, with Maja heading straight into the more intense vocal of the chorus. However, the screen was showing a different graphic instead of flashing various colors, with the sight of blurred police sirens as well as shadows of a person getting arrested by an officer. This contrasted with Maja's look of utter, almost menacing glee, looking as if she enjoyed the sight on screen.

You messed with the wrong woman
Simply put, I'm an outlaw
Capable of destroying you
There's a reason I'm...

The police lights disappeared as the chorus went on, though the look on Maja's face did not wear off. The lights, in compensation of the flashing screen no longer being there, began to shine in various colors. Some flashed to the beat alternating between red, green, white, and/or blue.

You sold yourself to the devil
Now the devil's against you
Someone has to take the fall, thus you pay the consequences

The lights continued with the flashing, with the camera stopping its wider shots and focusing on Maja instead for the final modified reprise of the chorus. Maja walked forward, coyly singing to the camera.

You messed with the wrong woman
Simply put, I'm an outlaw
Something you'll never match up to
You're behind bars, I walk free

For these final four lines, the focus still remained on Maja. The instrumentation was at its most chaotic with the lights flashing randomly at this point, but despite the light's chaos, Maja looked collected and confident. The lights began to slow down their flashing at the final line. The final parting shot of the song would be Maja, her face sideways with eyes straight to the camera, putting her chin slightly up as she sang the last words of the song. The spotlight on her dimmed as the song faded out quickly.

The cheering immediately started as Maja took a few moments to recollect herself, breathing and trying to process what she had just performed.

“Thank you!!!” She shouted to the microphone in an attempt to relieve her stress and release the adrenaline, before walking backstage.

Union of Confederate Regions Television

Live Coverage from the World Hit Festival, 20, from Senmerí, Chámelíyá
Hosted by Daniel Richards.

Hello and welcome to the 20th World Hit Festival, the 20th World Hit Festival, the 20th World Hit Festival which also signifies the 2nd Junior World Hit Festival. Now this is what I have to say and public, you are on my side. They had the cheek to say "They weren't happy about the results" Excuse me, Kalosia, FYI, we won the bid because we won the bid. Look at other nations, like yourself. You put in a lot of songs for both the WorldVision Song Contest and the World Hit Festival and don't win. Well it is the same with Bloodbath Generation, Britonisea, Normandy and Picardy- actually no, not them. Well you get what I mean. So I urge that Britonish viewers, and any other viewers watching the UCRTV Channel (Over 100 in the UCR) to not vote for Kalosia. However instead of me not telling you the voting information, the recording will just *Cut*. Which is a shame. Sad face? Too bad. This is what we need Chameliya. No breaks, rubbing their hatrick in our faces, nor do we need a stupid host. At least Mini, Tess and Jon are interesting, intelligent hosts. Well done, Chameliya. Britonisea is performing 7th, one of our lucky numbers, but after what I just said, don't expect us to win. Let's get on with the music.

01 Lons

That was very annoying, I am sorry, that was annoying. God, my head. At least the lyrics made up for the bad deal, urgh god my head still vibrates, I need to move on to the next nation, ouch.
