Steelworkers mistakenly receive 40.000 rubles extra in their paycheck

SJEVERNATA, Minilov — Workers at the Valonija steel plant thought they were in for a nice surprise when they checked their bank account only to discover an increase in wages. In all the company paid out an extra 40.000 rubles to the 115 workers.

Unfortunately, the extra cash was the result of a mistake. Hopes that the little extra was some sort of bonus or share of the profits melted away when the management wrote to all 115 workers asking them to return the cash. The company explains what went wrong, but the letter came too late for some who had already spent the lolly. Others saw the cash whisked away as part of debt repayment plans.

Should the steelworkers fail to return the cash, then the company only has one alternative: to try and get the money returned via a court order. Whether the steel producer will be willing to walk this road still remains to be seen.

Yugoslovenski Conducts Large Scale, Impromptu Nuclear Missile Warning Test

Image
Testing of a Columbian Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballsitic Missile: Capable of hitting Pancevo with 5 nuclear bombs in 23 minutes

YUGOSLOVENSKI - Cellular devices across the country showed up with an alert just after 12:00pm YFT, with a dire message: Yugoslovenski was under the threat of nuclear attack.

Thankfully, however, the message was part of a drill. This is the first ever test of a national emergency text message, or SMS (Short Message Service). The test was also carried out via radio broadcast, nuclear alarm sirens, and television early warning. This was the message as presented by media:

SMS:
WARNING THIS IS ONLY A DRILL

FSR Early Warning Radar has detected multiple nuclear devices en route to Yugoslovenski. Take immediate shelter.

WARNING THIS IS ONLY A DRILL

Radio/Television Broadcast:
The Following Message is Transferred by the Yugoslovenski Ministry of Defence
The following message is only a drill. The following message is only a drill. At 11:55 Pancevo Federal Time, FSR Early Warning Radar detected over 200 nuclear-armed missiles in route to the FSR, Vihoslavia, and Yugoslovenski. Please take immediate cover in underground locations or in ditches. Do not go outside unless absolutely necessary.
The previous message was only a drill. The previous message was only a drill.

The Ministry of Defence explains that the impromptu warning was very similar to a real attack: There would be very little warning in any mass nuclear strike, and for sakes of authenticity, the test was conducted without any warning. Officials said that the test drills mimicked, but did not copy, actual warning messages, so that people know what to listen for. For television and radio warnings, there would be lists of instructions that individuals could follow. Officials also indicated of the potential to have phone messages followed up by automated phone calls listed only as "LEVEL ONE EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION".

Valentinov stated that the test was not about any specific threat, but rather to make sure that the new territories in Saintonge had been fully integrated into the Early Warning system. He also stated, likely to prevent any tensions rising, that Yugoslovenski remains committed to being a nuclear- and chemical-weapon free state.

Mikoli Baruskinov, a tourist from the FSR, stated that the early warning test even reached his cellular number. "I'm glad that it did this, that way I can know if I am safe or unsafe while I visit this country."

Yugoslovenski plans to introduce its own early warning radars to the situation: with the intention of detecting Hypersonic and Ballistic missiles en route to Yugoslovenski. If a nuclear launch is confirmed, the system is claimed to be able to send out the early warning situations itself: as long as the people in the stations allow it.

Motorists filling up with “Red diesel”

Motorists filling up with “Red diesel”

MALJUBAV, Minilov — Drivers faced with rises in the price of diesel at the pumps are no turning to the illegal practice of filling up their vehicles with diesel intended to be used as heating fuel. The level of excise levied on diesel used as heating fuel is far lower than that levied on diesel intended as fuel for cars, lorries and busses.

Heating fuel is coloured with a red dye so that it can be distinguished from other diesel. Consequently, it is known colloquially as “red diesel”.

A journalist from the Maljubav local news discovered that red diesel was being openly promoted and sold to motorists at a number of filling stations in the capital. The use of red diesel in motor vehicles is forbidden by law and anyone caught using it in their car, lorry or bus risks a stiff fine.

There is nothing illegal in a filling station selling red diesel. However, the filling stations that a VRT News team visited were also turning a blind eye to their customers filling their vehicles up with the fuel that is intended for use as heating oil only.

Red Diesel is considerably less expensive than normal diesel, costing around 93 cents at the fuel station we visited. This is more than 50 cents cheaper than standard diesel. A lorry driver filling up a 500-litre fuel tank would save 250 rubles by taking the risk and filling up with illegal red diesel.

Although filling stations are turning a blind eye to what is an illegal practice, the responsibility ultimately lies with the customers.

Anyone caught with red diesel in their fuel tank risks a fine between 500 and 2.000 rubles. Those accused of large-scale diesel fraud could be fined up to 5.000 rubles. Red diesel leaves a trace of red dye in a vehicle’s fuel tank and is easy to trace.

Big reforms on the way for taxi services

Big reforms on the way for taxi services

MALJUBAV, Minilov — The Miher-government has approved a series of measures that will mean big changes to the rules governing taxi services in Minilov. The new taxi decree will come into force by 2020 at the latest. The Transport Minister Dobravoda Tolleb says that the new taxi decree will mean “more taxis at lower prices”.

The system of fixed tariffs will be scrapped as will a number of other rules that are currently in force. However, one new rule is to be introduced that stipulates that all taxi drivers working in Minilov must be able to speak Minilovan.

In Minilov, taxi travel is viewed by many as an expensive luxury. There are also relatively few licenced taxis on the roads in our country. This is due to rules that impose fixed tariffs, restrict the area in which taxis can pick up customers, and a restriction on the number of taxis that can be licenced to 1 taxi per 1.000 population.

Once the new rules come into force taxi companies will be able to decide their own tariffs. The quota of 1 tax per 1.000 population will be scrapped as will the rules that limit the area in which a taxi can pick people up on the street to the municipality or city in which it is licenced. For example, at the moment a taxi that takes someone from Kademija to Trziste must return to Kademija empty. This means that the customer also pays for the return journey. Once the new rules come into force licenced taxis will be able to pick up customers in the whole of Minilov.

Furthermore, under the new rules that will come into force before 1 January 2020, all taxi drivers based in Minilov will have to be able to speak and understand Minilovan.

23 Days until Yugoslovenski's first at-stake Presidential Election - what do the polls say?

Image
Current President Naum Valentinov (L) and Presidential Candidate Vladimir Porkovic (R), both of the Christian Democratic Party, arrive together for a Presidential Debate

YUGOSLOVENSKI - With the one and only presidential debate going to be the real limitation of a presidential campaign, the nation sounds off through a series of polls, and below are the averages of the last five polls conducted by the YFT

PRESIDENT:
Naum Valentinov (HDS): 79% (Projected Winner)
Vladimir Porkovic (HDS): 18%
David Pavic (SNJ): 3%

UPPER HOUSE
Christian Democratic Party (HDS): 309 seats (Projected Winner)
National Unity Party (SNJ): 79 seats
Democratic Party (DP): 8 seats
Slavic Liberty Party (SLS): 4 seats

LOWER HOUSE:
Christian Democratic Party (HDS): 1,775 seats (Projected Winner)
National Unity Party (SNJ): 205 seats
Slavic Liberty Party (SLS): 196
Democratic Party (DP): 99

The predictions show a massive sweep of the government by the Christian Democratic Party, ending 20 years of Democratic Party rule. The Democratic Party has not even placed forth a presidential candidate, as the party reels from poor handling of the aftermath of the Saintonge War as well as the horrendous mistake of Anton Milić's ballot stuffing measure, stuffing over 5.4 million votes to three of the various parties.

For the first time since the beginning of the democracy in Yugoslovenski, there is a 57% chance that the Democratic Party will lose all of its seats in both the lower and upper house. We predict a >95% chance of the Christian Democratic Party taking the election all the way through, which is higher than the 87% chance we gave it for the October 14th election.

National anger at the Democratic Party still seethes, as evident today when Protesters attacked Democratic Congressmen Denis Lilic in Zepce earlier today. Lilic has been admitted to the Pancevo Memorial Hospital with severe injuries. This is the most recent in a series of attacks against Democratic parliament members throughout the last two weeks, as the election cycle draws to a close. Check back on Christmas day for the last pre-election polls, and December 31st for the final polls going into the election.

Gate of Rectitude Vandalized -- Jan. 12th, 1971

The Gate of Rectitude, a heritage building constructed in the 500s, has recently been defaced with white paint, rotten fish, and excrement, Mr. Sungh, the Superintendant of the Palace Hall said.

Investigations are underway, and custodial staff have been placed on night-watch around the gate to prevent further damages.

The Gate of Rectitude is the southern portal leading to the Palace Hall, the building complex which hosts many state ceremonies and five-daily audiences between the monarch and government.

It is also the boundary between the public sections of the Palace and the private section, used as the Emperor's quarters.

"The Gate of Rectitude is a very old building that preserves architectural information dating from the late antiquity," Mr. Sungh reminds, "and for that we encourage the public to be mindful when enjoying it. Damages to the Gate erodes this historicity, and could be interpreted as contempt for the institutions of this country. The Antiquities and Heritage Act penalizes vandalism to the Gate with considerable fines and imprisonment."

The Superintendant denies any security implications this may have towards the monarchy or the public. "There is no reason at present to assume that these acts of vandalism represent a threat to public safety, and we have no plans to alert the Emperor of what is a relatively minor problem. The public sections of the Palace is to remain open for public tours," he said.

Former Maljubav mayor Murovisi dies at age 79

MALJUBAV, Minilov — The former Minister and former Mayor of Maljubav Pilip Murovisi has died aged 79. Mr Murovisi had been battling cancer and had been ill for some time.

Pilip Murovisi was Mayor of Maljubav for almost 20 years between 1993 and 2012. In the wake of the city riots in 2015, Mr Murovisi was accused by some of having been too soft on law and order during his period as Mayor.

In 2012 he was ousted as Mayor of Maljubav by a coalition of socialists and orthodox conservaties. Six years later, in October 2018, Mr Murovisi daughter Katerina Murovisi won the city elections and is now Maljubav’s Mayor.

The last time that Pilip Murovisi was seen in public was a few days before the city election when, despite being gravely ill, he joined his daughter in her campaign to become Mayor.

Avallone In Flames

AVALLONE IN FLAMES
TERROR AS COORDINATED ATTACKS HIT CAPITAL

IT just kept getting worse.

The horror unfolded in a series of explosions resulting in terrifying bursts of panic punctuated by moments of horror and disbelief. All around Avallone the sounds of sirens rang out interspersed with the pained screams of the injured and the dying.

There was where the Glasic Foreign Office once stood but a plume of smoke and dust, the building having ceased to exist in any tangible way, the winter market at Parliament Square hit at the same time now resembled the debris field after a plane crash with detritus and bodies littering the area, many in unnatural positions, some without limbs. Worse was yet to come, some thirty minutes after the first attacks explosions occurred at Grand Central Station and the Defence Ministry building.

Image
Counter terrorism officers outside Parliament House

Some people ran for their lives, some stopped to aid the wounded, others simply broke down in the streets not knowing where to go or what to do. Stay inside, go indoors or go underground? Where was safe, was anywhere safe? People fleeing the attack sites hid in shops, in alleyways, under cars and sometimes each-other, others fled to the river. For those attempting to flee, a most horrid thought must have dawned on them: Nowhere was safe.

For several terrifying, panic-stricken hours afterwards people bore witness to the inexpressible, the incomprehensible, the unthinkable during which time central Avallone resembled a war-zone. "I don't know what hell looks like but it must be better than this" said a security office outside the Defence Ministry building.

For hours after the attacks, people lingered around on the streets, uncertain where to go or what to do in a newly incomprehensible world. Many felt compelled to flee the city, taking ferries across the estuary to Waterford or heading south to Tarbert.

By the early evening thousands of emergency services personnel, rescue workers, and military reservists were on the streets of Avallone, buildings continued to burn fiercely, blanketing much of the city centre in a thick smog.

Image

Whilst there has yet to be an official statement regarding the number of fatalities and injured it must be well into the hundreds from the carnage seen at Parliament Square alone.

Interior Ministry encourages fireworks safety

MALJUBAV, Minilov — Fireworks can be fun and beautiful, but can also be very dangerous. The Interior Minister Ioan Pekmez encourages citizens to attend professional fireworks displays and practice fireworks safety.

"Professional fireworks displays are a great way for residents to safely enjoy fireworks," said minister Pekmez in an interview on MNTV. "If you choose to use consumer fireworks, please read the cautionary labels and performance descriptions. Fireworks can be dangerous if not used properly."

The ministry encourages citizens to follow these ten recommended safety tips:

  1. Follow the law. Make sure fireworks are legal in your community.
  2. Read and follow the directions and warning labels on fireworks packaging.
  3. Never allow children to play with or ignite fireworks.
  4. Light only one firework at a time.
  5. Do not point fireworks at homes, buildings, or people.
  6. Never consume alcohol or drugs while shooting fireworks.
  7. Make sure there is a bucket of water or water source nearby for emergencies.
  8. Be considerate of neighbours when it comes to noise.
  9. Pick up the leftovers and trash you leave behind.
  10. Pets and fireworks don’t mix. The loud noises can cause pets to become anxious or afraid.

Fireworks sales run from December 20th through January 1st. Citizens are urged to report complaints regarding the sale or illegal use of fireworks to their local police station.

The tonnage of Fluids and dry bulk goods grew by 4,5% and 5% respectively. Meanwhile, break bulk cargo tonnage has risen by 1.8%.

In addition to a rise in tonnage, the Port Company also reports a “wave of investment”totalling 2,3 billion rubles over the past year.

Dam County Celebrates Dayashina's Victory Day
Image
Dam County Air Base—Leased to Dayashina in 1992 for 999 years

In a historic gesture of reconciliation, the central government in 1971 rented a small airfield and some surrounding lands to Dayashina, which her air force has used to station its aircraft and train its pilots. What is notable is that the airfield was not far from where some of her fighter jets, just thirty years before, took to flight to rain down bombs on Kien-k'ang.

Themiclesia has always been a country that responded to changes with admirable speed, thinking little of its previous experience and even potential embarrassment.
Recently, the Dayashinese have appointed Dec. 30th "R-Day", or "Remembrance Day", to commemorate the sacrifice that her and the world's people have endured through the Pan-Septentrion War. Garrisons of her defence forces, which now dot the world, are required to celebrate this event.

Today's proceedings began with an overnight vigil dedicated to the civilians who died during the war. Themclesian law dedicates the 12th, 13th, and 14th of December each year to much the same purpose; the 13th, in particular, is the tombsweeping day, in which families broken during the war are encouraged to visit the tumuli of their departed kin. The 12th marks the day in which all enemy forces have departed from Themiclesia's pre-war borders.

Wing Commander Bliem next was present, delivering the condolences that the Air Force HQ has sent to the Air Base. He did reverence in the accustomed way and then pronounced the eulogy that the Minister of the Left has addressed to the members on the Air Base.

The officer in charge of the ceremony, Hayamori, thanked Bliem for his travel and announced their gratitude for the empathetic Themiclesian public.

The Mayor of Dam County, the Honourable Mr. Grat, made a short statement expressing the county residents' appreciation for the "endless happiness from plane spotting" and the "Dayashinese pilots' great dedication towards maintaining world peace". Hayamori presented the year's rent for the Air Base to Mayor Grat, on a human-sized cheque.

In recent years, the role of the Dayashinese-Themiclesians during the war has received renewed attention. Describing Themiclesia as a peaceful and progressive country, a considerable number of prominent Dayashinese people settled in this country starting in the 1910s and 20s to avoid rising militarism in Dayashina. When their fears were realized, Dayashina attacked their new home country along with Menghe. A number of them voiced despair as the world descended into war.

Yet when things could hardly become worse, they did. Skeptics in the Themiclesian parliament proposed a measure to conscript Dayashinese immigrants preferentially—to fight the invading Dayashinese. Some called this the "test of their allegiance", though the Prime Minister at the time condemned this view in the strongest possible terms. Eventually, to placate public outrage, a countervailing measure was given royal assent in 1937 to excuse new immigrants from conscription, until absolutely necessary.

This measure deepened the suspicion of some members of the public further, now claiming that the Dayashinese have infiltrated parliament. While these voices came from few mouths, they were pointed and continued to linger. Mr. Noru (no relation to the Dayashinese PM) recounted at the podium how a neighbour, who served in the Army as an officer, advised his grandfather, an opinion leader in the Dayashinese diaspora in Tonning, of the rather touchy problem of Dayashinese immigrants and conscription. On the one hand, they desired very much to help the country they chose to live in in whatever way possible; on the other, they were also hesitant to fight an enemy that could very well be their friends and relations.

The kind neighbour pointed out that the Army hierarchy was also caught in two minds. On the one hand, if the Dayashinese immigrants joined, it would show the world the country was united in defence of the free world, in contempt of origin and, in the sense of the time, race; on the other, the Army leadership secretly feared that the immigrants may not be the most spirited in a difficult battle against a kindred enemy or the most steadfast in the face of psychological tactics of the pathetic nature.

"As a friend," the neighbour said, "I dare suggest that you volunteer to serve in the Navy. The laws provide that if a family has a person in one service, others shall not be conscripted in order to protect their ability to generate income. Since the Navy does not expect combat, inasfar as their recent reports to the Ministry of Defence suggest, your enlistment there would not expose you to what is more difficult than any one of us to endure but acquit your family members of conscription and give the government, in my estimation, excellent cause to quell the skeptics in its various departments."

"The skeptics are ignominious in their questioning of your allegiances. They fail to note or maliciously ignore that none of the native[ Themiclesians] are fighting friends and family and crudely connect this natural reticence with disloyalty. What is difficult for natives can only be ever the more painful for you, and that is not accounting for the fact that you have risked your lives and property only to get here in the first place. As a soldier, I may not express my opinions on public policy publicly, and I beg you not to reveal what I write on this letter today until after I am discharged."

Noru's grandfather rushed to Nod-tju, where then Navy's HQ was located, to offer himself as a volunteer. In awe-inspiring lack of sympathy, the Navy had none of the Army's difficulties with Dayashinese volunteers; very soon, several hundred sailed with the Navy. Within four months, his grandfather's heroics allowed the government to launch a massive publicity campaign showing the world "exactly what Themiclesia was defending and how transcendent the cause was". By the end of the war, over 4,000 first- and second-generation Dayashinse people "sailed under the Themiclesian colours", since the Navy does not march.

Their foray into something they vehemently rejected before was justified by Noru. "None of us wanted to fight for any country, whether it's Dayashina or Themiclesia. But ultimately, a few perceptive people came forward and told us that fighting is only the second-worst possible thing. Being left with no choice but to fight is the very worst. We could have simply watched if Themiclesia ceased to exist, and there's little in the way to suggest our participation changed the course of the war, but at least by joining the Navy we could say we were exercising some freedom of choice. I think we could say we left Dayashina because there we would have no choice but to fight and then for an insufficient cause; we could not let that happen to us in this country, whose cause we thought was far more reasonable."

"And ultimately we couldn't forget Prime Minister Hniak. All over the world people were positively tripping over themselves to disparage the different, whether it was a different sex, a different origin, a different ethnicity, a different religion, or a different language; Themiclesia was unusually well-downed with such a string of extraordinary leaders whose ethics survive the examination of many generations after themselves."

After all the sentiments were expressed and gifts exchanged, the ceremony progressed with a number of fly-overs and a shared lunch.

"My grandfather decided to respect the secrecy of his neighbour's disclosure for the rest of his life, since that officer apparently died during the war," Noru told this paper. "In his later years, he gradually succumbed to memory loss, and we were unable to find out ultimately who this insightful officer was."

President Valentinov has submitted the first formal request to the new Parliament - end the J-49 Light Strike Trainer program

Image
SOKO's J-22 Orao, the predecessor to the J-49 Light Strike Trainer, will be entirely retired by the end of 2019 - likely all transfered to Maldania

YUGOSLOVENSKI - President Naum Valentinov has submitted a series of requests towards the near parliament when it takes its place on January 6th, 2019. The very first in the dossier is a request to formally end the J-49 program and hasten the retirement of the J-22 Orao - a bid to save money in the modernization effort. There are other military reforms and societal reforms listen within the dossier, becoming a manifest of the first term, as per the words of his spokesperson.

Naum Valentinov and the Christian Democratic Party have been given an >95% of a total sweep of the government, and an 87% chance that the party will hold supermajorities in both levels of the parliament. Additionally, Naum Valentinov is expected to win 85% of the vote, giving the president the ability to see the manifest through.

SEE: LIVE 2019 ELECTION RESULTS

Critics have already questioned abandoning the strike fighter project, leaving a critical gap in capabilities. Others declared the capability "useless", with "enemy air dominance" implied during a war. In the opinion of some experts, Yugoslovenski should be focusing in combat air-to-air fighters to help ground forces survive with air cover as long as possible. There could be fierce debate in the coming days as the parliament comes in to work.

Transport unions to stage protest at border crossings on Mon

Transport unions to stage protest at border crossings on Monday

MALJUBAV, Minilov — The unions that represent workers in the transport industry are to take action on Monday in protest against the government’s plans to make changes to the length of time bus and lorry drivers are allowed to drive and their statuary rest breaks. The protests will be held at a number of the busiest border crossings between Minilov and neighbouring countries.

The socialist and Orthodox parties MSP and COA warn against the consequences of the proposals that will be put before the National Assembly later this month. If approved then international lorry and bus drivers will be allowed to drive for longer and won’t have to rest for as long as is currently the case. The unions say that this will threaten the safety of the drivers and that of other road users.

Minilov wants to make it possible for drivers to spend their long weekly rest period in their vehicle, something that is currently not allowed. A bus driver would be allowed to drive for up to 12 hours a day on domestic journeys, something that is currently only permitted on international trips.

In order to inform other drivers of their grievances, the transport unions will stage protest action at the border crossings between Minilov and Beloslavia (northwest), Inkeri (northeast), Rajamaa (east) and Vihoslavia (west) between 7am and 9am on Monday. Although the protest could lead to delays the unions say that they don’t intend to block the motorways

Choe Sŭng-min Hospitalized After Serious Fall

Cho Hye-bin; 2019 / 01 / 05

Donggyŏng -- The Publicity Office of the Supreme Council released at 11:20 AM an official confirmation that Chairman Choe Sŭng-min suffered a "serious fall" within the Donggwangsan Palace earlier this morning and is currently undergoing emergency treatment in Donggyŏng Old City Hospital. Details on the cause of the fall and the severity of the Chairman's injuries remain sparse, and officials present outside the hospital have refused to provide additional information. Medical staff have thus far stated only that his condition is "not imminently life-threatening" and that he is likely to recover.

This is not the first time Choe Sŭng-min has been abruptly rushed to the hospital. Currently 79 years old, he has held the position of Chairman of the Supreme Council for more than 30 years, making him one of the longest-reigning heads of state in Septentrion. Unlike a symbolic monarch, he has also wielded active government power throughout this period. As one medical official commented last year: "The task of steering the most populous country in the world through economic and military challenges can only be described as monumental, and the mental and physical burden of tirelessly working through the night for such high stakes is undoubtedly behind the Chairman's faltering health."

Choe Sŭng-min disappeared from public view over the course of a few weeks in 2016, and again for several months in 2017, in the latter case leaving the hospital shortly before the 30th Anniversary of the Decembrist Revolution. In both of these cases, state offices imposed a similar blockade on information in order to curtail the spread of rumors, and the Chairman gave televised speeches from the Bŏdŭl-Ri Hospital outside the city to demonstrate the progress of his recovery. From the information which has trickled through, it appears that he is suffering from undisclosed heart problems and possibly tumors spread around the chest. His appearance has grown noticeably more frail, and since December 2017 he has walked in public with the support of a cane.

The most recent incident nevertheless shocked the public because of its suddenness. Prior hospitalizations, long and short, had been for scheduled treatment and recovery, according to medical staff; the most recent one came in response to a sudden emergency. It is still not public knowledge whether Choe Sŭng-min fell as a result of a sudden medical problem or experienced medical complications after a severe fall, but in either case it has created an atmosphere of alarm in Donggwangsan.

The Chairman still insists that his mental clarity remains as acute as ever, and after past hospitalizations he has cheerfully agreed to interviews and given improvised speeches to demonstrate it. Yet his increasingly severe hospitalizations have led his top subordinates, Kim Pyŏng-so and Mun Chang-ho, to take a more active role in managing national affairs in his absence. Over the course of 2018, Choe's apparently recovering health led to an apparent return to normal affairs, with the Chairman promoting Mun Chang-ho to the post of Deputy Chairman while reasserting his own primacy in domestic and foreign policy. If his condition continues to worsen, or if his hospitalizations become more common, this could cast a pall of uncertainty over Menghean politics.

Preliminary Numbers Suggest Consumer Spending Increased in Q4 2018
Consumer spending increased 8.2% over the course of 2018, according to preliminary figures published by the Ministry of National Economic Development, and now accounts for 47.3% of GDP. This is the highest share since 1993, and a marked improvement over its low of 36.2% in 2004. The overall trend confirms that domestic consumption, buoyed by rising incomes for workers, has replaced exports and investment as Menghe's leading driver of growth. more

Progress Continues on Thorium-Based Reactor
The new power plant, under construction in northern Gilim Province since April of last year, is part of a ₩50 billion (OSD 2.6 billion) project to develop a 100MWH reactor using the exotic but promising Molten Salt Reactor configuration. Though it uses Uranium-233 in its fuel cycle, the new design promises to be safer and more efficient than a conventional Pressurized Water Reactor while producing less dangerous waste. Museum Attendance Surpassed 500 Million in 2018
After years of increase driven by rising incomes and new construction, museums across Menghe recorded a total of 503 million visits over the course of 2018, a new high. Economic Growth Rebounds in 2018; GDP increase by 2.25%
Image
Themiclesia's largest stock exchange ends the year in historic gains

Kien-k'ang—The chief statistician of the government, the Minister of Agriculture (大農令, dadh-nung-mlings), has released official statements regarding Themiclesia's economic growth in FY 2018, which formally ended on Nov. 8, 2018. The figures, as accustomed, is adjusted to include the period from that date to the end of the solar year but exclude the period from the end of FY2017 to the first day of the solar year 2018.

Themiclesia's economic growth has almost doubled from 1.24% to 2.25%, following last year's economic downturn.

"Themiclesia's growth is encouraging but unstable," the Secretary of State for Appropriations commented, "our economy is still in its explorative phase from the traditional, mechanical service sector into a less technical and human-service and knowledge-based one."

Additionally, experts find concerning signs in the break-down of GDP contribution this year.

"Trading volume and IPOs in the Gep-bah Stock Exchange has jumped by almost 40% this year, which means it occupies an unusually large portion in the GDP growth that we present now," the Minister of Agriculture said, "on the one hand, it definitely demonstrates investors' confidence in Themiclesia's productivity and future potential, but it also means the economy is not as productive in substantive as we would hope. Nevertheless, investments take time to mature, and we have good reason to believe that is in the near future."

OPINION: The War in Saintonge was a Disastrous Mistake

Image
M-84 of Yugoslovenski's "Mighty Army" sits destroyed in Novi Pazar

Yugoslovenski's Greatest War. The Mighty Sebrenskan Defense Force. All of these have been stated about the Yugoslovenski Army in Saintonge - fighting a collapsing government to 'liberate' the Sebrenskan people living in 'oppression'.

Yugoslovenski no doubt achieved military victory in Saintonge - but it also took so at great cost, despite the Sieuxerran Army doing the bulk of the fighting.

"Saintonge redirected its forces southwards to fight Sieuxerr. Yugoslovenski still took heavy losses."

The military of Saintonge was definitely impressive. Yugoslovenski's on paper military sure seemed better equipped in all, with the new M-110 Main Battle Tank - which is feared by the Grand Alliance, being a significant upgrade from the T-74/M-84 in service already - seeing its first real combat in the history of the tank design. This was all fine. But when it came down to it - Yugoslovenski was not, and dare i say, still is not, ready for a war. Yugoslovenski's military had overwhelming victories at first, taking almost no casualties in the initial invasions. But her luck ended quickly. As Yugoslovenski's military moved closer, resistance steepened. An M-110 was taken out by a 1980s rocket launcher, and then the livesaver came. Sieuxerr invaded three days later, while Yugoslovenski encountered stiff resistance in the north. But it was not still in Yugoslovenski's favor. Saintonge redirected its forces southwards to fight Sieuxerr. Yugoslovenski still took heavy losses.

To the untrained eye - Saintonge surrendering unequivocally in just one month showed overwhelming resolve. But Sieuxerr really faced most of the brunt of the force. ANd it still took Yugoslovenski one week to take Novi Pazar - even after the city had largely had its defences wiped from previous air bombardment.

With all of this, we beg the question - Is Yugoslovenski ready for the next big war? If Saintonge is the track record the Military will have - our enemies will win the day in Yugoslovenski.

To this end - however - Yugoslovenski has made advances. Naum Valentinov has asked for FSR assistance in modernizations of the Ground Forces, a detail that is sure to enjoy military enthusiasts and worry the West. But just modern equipment is not going to help. Yugoslovenski's Army and Air Force need far more training, for the best equipment in the world can still do nothing in the hands of lowly trained forces.

GLASIC TROOPS READY FOR EXERCISE CARMAN

Glasic troops have completed integration training with Crainnic, Rajaan and Tairngiric allies in preparation for Triple Entente Exercise Carman XI in Tír an Crainn

Image
Glasic highland infantry

After several weeks of intensive training in the harsh conditions of Tír an Crainn's northern training area troops from the three nations now present a tightly-knit and well-prepared force prior to Exercise Carman, which is due to begin on the 28th of January, lasting until mid February.

The Glasic Minister for the Armed Forces Liam Murphy said:

Whether it’s by the sea, from the air or over land, Exercise Carman will demonstrate the ability of both our and allied armed forces to at short notice to deploy and integrate with our mainland allies in an increasingly unpredictable era for the region.

From the air, Tír Glas is contributing a variety of aircraft including Venom and Goshawk fighters which touched down in Dunaree last week, whilst from the sea a collection of Glasic vessels not seen in such numbers since the 1980s – will support the exercise as part of a multinational task force including the Crainnic and Tairngiric navies.

With over 200,000 participants from six nations Exercise Carman XI is the TE's largest exercise in well over a decade and will test the entente's ability to interoperate as seamlessly as envisaged.

The Glasic-led multinational force will face the challenging task of countering a pre-emptive and rapidly advancing attack from a peer level enemy, a role filled by troops from Tír Ealga and Tír Fáil who are familiar with the terrain and environment, as well as a small Dayashinese contingent.

National Strike on 13 February

National Strike on 13 February

MALJUBAV, Minilov — Minilovan trade unions have blown up talks on a framework wage agreement for the next two years and have called a national strike on 13 February.

The Orthodox, socialist and liberal unions are unhappy with the decision by the economy minister Serž Pobuna to limit wage increases to a mere 0.8% besides the automatic index rise to compensate for inflation. The unions say that the scope for wage rises is insufficient and object to what they call the employers' inflexible approach. They decided on the action after a joint meeting.

Unions and employers were set to agree on a framework agreement on wage rises for the entire private sector valid for two years. The negotiations take as their point of departure the wage norm set out by the 2015-agreement. The unions say that the norm offers insufficient scope for talks. They calculated the norm based on the contested new wage law introduced by the Miher administration. The unions claim the law, the decoupling of the index for one 2% rise and stricter rules on early retirement have complicated talks.

The unions want to see a rise in spending power and for employees to enjoy economic growth. They are seeking changes to the 2015 wage norm law. The caretaker government now has the task of mediating. Unions and employers have a month to come up with a deal. Otherwise, the government will impose its view on the scope for wage increases, although there are concerns an outgoing administration doesn't possess the power to do so.

Service Sector takes hit as Jedorian economy begins 2019 with rocky start

STRANA MECHTY – A new report from the Economic Bureau dominated Jedorian economic and financial concerns as it was revealed the service sector shrank by a total of 8%, leading the Jedorian economy to begin the new year on uneven footing. The fledging Jedorian service sector, which primarily focuses on telecommunications, shipping, and retail, had been expected to recede by experts given the conclusion of the holiday season, but the 8% decrease surpassed most predictions which estimated a maximum of a 5% drop.

The news is a sore sport for an Administration that has spent the last four years prioritizing the growth of the service sector as a means to balance out the Jedorian economy, which has long relied on raw materials and manufacturing to serve as primary source of exports and investment. Despite several initiatives and subsidies granted in recent years the slow growth and recent downturn have cast doubt on the value placed by Archon Jaan Kask’s efforts to vitalize Jedoria’s primary sector.

The Kask Administration is dealing with further criticisms from opposition members who have insisted the Archon relax protectionist measures which have limited foreign investment and international trade. Opposition Leader Valdemaras Kvasinskas called for further free market reforms and criticized the Archon for “coddling” Jedorian domestic industries and businesses.

The news serves as a counterbalance to the more positive conclusion of 2018, which saw Jedorian GDP close out the year with a growth of 2.1%, lower than the Government’s goal of 2.5% but higher than 2017s 1.7%. Unemployment also dropped below 10% for the first time and exports rose, which the government credited due to improved ties with the Galenosphere. It’s hoped renewed ties with the Galenic nations can help improve Jedoria’s trade revenue, given the uncertainty regarding Casterra and recent troubles in the international market following the coup in Colombia.

But events in Vinya have done little to assuage such concerns. Foreign investment remains limited as potential investors are cautious to involve themselves in a potential violate Vinyan situation. With the continent still reeling from the horrific terrorist attacks in Avallone the future of stability in Vinya has once more been thrown into a flux. Not helping matters was the impromptu announcement that the Jedorian Federal Forces announced a sudden major military exercise, code named “Apsaldēšana”. Over 350,000 Jedorian military personnel are expected to take part in the exercise, who’s scale is the largest Jedoria has seen since the days of the Socialist Republic. The unexpected nature of the exercise was justified by the Jedorian National Defense Bureau, which stated the exercise was a “shock therapy” reaction to an apparently poor internal review of the state of the Federal Forces, which prompted backlash from opposition members who questioned how after billions in aid and training the Jedorian military remains in a low state of readiness and quality.

Still, there remains a few signs of hope. Increasingly good ties with the Galenosphere are credited with increasing consumer confidence and consumption, while Jedorian exports of petroleum and steel increased as well by 7%. Both imports and exports increased during 2018 and are expected to continue, with a total of $352.9 billion worth of goods exported and $365.8 billion imported.

Will we pay the bill for a pair of these?
Are aircraft carriers the future for Themiclesia?

I
n the Council of Protonotaries today, the Progressive Prime Minister Mrang Srjen and Secretary of State for Defence Teng Hlung together tabled a white paper titled "Sensible Choices in Defence Matters", which included provisions for the purchase of two aircraft carriers from the Organized States. The chamber was not whipped today by any party.

"Mr Speaker," the Leader of the Opposition replied, "I feel bound to express a common sensation of shock from this side of the house. The plans the Government has revealed only deepens the very widespread concern that we, in the Liberal Party, and millions of Themiclesians possess about the Progressives' apparent ignorance of the requirements of this country's people. Shock and dismay, Mr. Speaker, about the lavishing of public money on toys and instruments of provocation."

The Prime Minister did not reply directly to the Leader of the Opposition's objections but appealed to the parliamentary parties in the Council to have a full and free debate. "These plans are still under discussion, and the Government has made no commitments to any party so far," the PM explained.

The government then proceeded to reveal several assessement papers prepared by the Naval Defence Institute of Themiclesia, which collectively, according to the Secretary of State for Defence, speak in favour of acquiring a pair of aircraft carriers.

Next, the Secretary of State for Defence explained that "unfortunate turns of events" in Khalistan, in which Themiclesia has, at the behest of the Organized States, committed to sending troops. According to him, these troops, initially just over 3,000, under the Liberals' previous government, now number well-over 10,000. "A proper equipped pair of aircraft carriers will permit us to slash the Army's establishment in Khalistan by more than half. We shall be able to satisfy our treaty obligations and bring our compatriots back to safety."

When questioned how that would be possible, Teng provided that "Themiclesia's fleet of fighter jets and bombers will better be able to assist the soldiers on land." Furthermore, Teng also leaned on the lack of assistance from the Organized States, which "has unfortunately been a challenge to arrange in a mutually-satisfactory manner between the two countries" that are "now sharing in an enterprise of critical importance."

He emphasized that the government feels a "great compunction to provision for the safety of citizens who have volunteered to discharge our obligations to our allies" by the "best available means".

In a dramatic reversal of moods, an opposition MP, Mr. Ga of Kwang-'an, also produced a paper he claims was written by the Parrot Group, a privately-funded international relations research institute, which propounded the countervailing view that Themiclesia does not need to expect increases in defence commitments towards the Grand Alliance. "If aircraft carriers are ordered today, they will not be laid down until a lengthy discussion phase has settled on the details of the vessels, and completion lies thereafter, perhaps seven or eight years," he asserted.

"The war in Khalistan, with much credit to our soldiers, is approaching a definite conclusion. According to this paper," which he waved in the chamber, "the remaining parts of the war are highly terrestrial in nature. With the coast virtually clear of enemies, an airport can be built there, which will permit our airplanes to take off and land without obstructions; this costs markedly less than a pair of aircraft carriers."

Then, he argued that at the earliest possible date of receiving the aircraft carriers, which is "probably in 1980, the war would have been long over, and then our carriers have no use. All states that have carriers under its colours have exigent and permanent reasons to have them. The OS posseses several territories overseas. The Tyrannian Kingdom likewise. Sieuxerr has long-term obligations towards its former possessions. Themiclesia, as she stands, has none of those."

Mr. Mep of Mjen-tju, in the Liberal Party, concurred with Mr. Ga's sentiments. He further stated that acquisition of aircraft carriers could trigger another panic wave in Maverica and, to the Government MP's vociferous heckling, "our fleet of fighter jets and bombers would need to be expanded rapidly, since aircraft carriers require a different kind of aircraft."

"The government has inexcusably omitted the costs of procuring another hundred or so fighter jets and bombers suitable for carrier use," he shouted across the revolting chamber, "as well as their maintenance, training for their operation, and the future costs of manning and maintaining the carriers themselves."

"These are absurd suggestions and represent nothing short of an impingement on the reputation of MPs not only on this side of the house," the PM replied to the Speaker, "but also the dignity of the chamber. The government has not been permitted a chance to present its views in full because of obstruction from the members of the Opposition," he said, flipping to the back of the white paper, "which have clearly been printed up till the year 1994, representing all costs the honourable member have alleged for twenty years into the future!"

"Mr. Speaker," the Secretary of State for Defence shouted, ostensibly without permission, "the Government stakes its future on the integrity of this white paper. If any part of this white paper is dishonest about the costs of maintaining carriers and their equipment, including aircraft, then not only will the Government drop the paper, but I shall retire from public life."

"Let us not foget the most resolute Secretary of State has already retired from public life four times before now," remarked the member from Sii-de', Mr. Ho, "once in 1951, then in 1958, then again in 1960, and most recently in 1967. He has not failed to return each time," he chuckled, "Mr. Speaker!"

WATERFORD ATTACKED
PANIC AS EXPLOSIONS TERRORISE WATERFORD

Armed police along the embankment this morning

Waterford, Tír Glas.

Between 9:56am and 11:30am yesterday morning a series of bombs were detonated on board cross-city and Waterford Metro trains as well as two buses in the city centre. Thus far there are known to have been at least 77 fatalities with scores more injured, a partial tunnel collapse has prevented rescue efforts to at least one of the underground trains from being undertaken.
These attacks come around two months after the events in Avallone which claimed so many lives. Whilst as yet unproven, it is perhaps likely that these attacks will be found to share the same motive as those in Avallone last December.

Image
Princess Niamh at St Oswald's this morning

Princess Niamh this morning toured St Oswald's and Queen Katherine's hospitals in Waterford to meet with the injured and families of the deceased before appearing at Waterford City Hall alongside the mayor of Waterford Conan O'Shea to address the citizens of Waterford and Tír Glas as a whole sending condolences from her sister who was unable to attend, being in Tír an Crainn.
Later in the day the Prime Minister would address the nation on the events of the previous day ending in the deployment of the regional yeomanry for the first time since the Glaso-Dayanese War to bring security and safety to the streets of both Avallone and Waterford. This represents a marked change from previous attacks, perhaps signifying a change in tack for the Glasic government on the root cause of this most serious issue.

The Prime Minister is expected to meet with her opposites from Tír an Crainn and Tír Tairngire in the coming days to discuss the situation whilst the newly appointed foreign secretary Emer Kobayashi is to fly to Jedoria.

The Emperor of Dayashina, Hokogata Garden, 2019
In all his age, the Emperor of Dayashina himself made an appearance in Hokogata Garden today, and took his opportunity to his expend his energy by speaking very briefly, to offer his condolences to the people of Tír Glas for the recent attacks on Avallone and Waterford.

"My family offers its deepest condolences to the families of those who have been pushed out of this world by the Avallone and Waterford attacks. We sincerely hope that the Glasic people may recover from this ordeal, and come back stronger," the Emperor uttered, "and may they strike down those responsible with the force of righteous vengeance."

It was the first public appearance by the Emperor in almost a year's worth of time, so the broadcast took both Dayashina and the international community by surprise. Various concerns have been raised about the Emperor's health, as he appeared very frail before the cameras. Though, sources close to him have insisted that the Emperor is in perfectly normal health for his age, and that he was simply "living" at this point. One source implied that the Emperor may have ceased his pursuit of medical preventative measures, and has been focusing the rest of his natural energy on living out each day in an increased state of both peace and enlightenment.

Dayashinese and Glasic Mountaineers, Ex Carman, 2019
The MoD has recently released a statement of confirmation after images of Dayashinese soldiers in Tír an Crainn, participating in Exercise Carman, surfaced online just yesterday. Over 45,000 Dayashinese Armed Forces personnel have been confirmed to be engaging in the exercise, including "various sea and air assets" as complement. Prime Minister Daichi Noru followed up on MoD Tobukawa's confirmation, stating that the soldiers were there as a "show of solidarity" with their allies in Tír Glas and their close associates in the Vinyan Union, who have recently suffered a series of terrorist attacks, with a collective casualty count mounting up past three thousand.

"The Republic of Dayashina remains committed," Noru said, "to combating terrorism and injustice in Meridia and around the world. In this most unfortunate case, our closest allies have been stricken by the red right hand of evil. It is our duty, not only as allies, but as a civilised and honourable people, to display our solidarity with our greatest partners. At the end of the day, a verbal commitment to utterly unbreakable ties means nothing without action. Tír Glas has been side by side with the Republic through thick and thin - it is now our time to be by their side during their time of tribulation."

Kien-k'ang, Themiclesia.

The Empress Dowager, with the sovereign, today appeared before the Court to deliver royal assent to recent legislation and attend to other ceremonies of state. However, one slight surprise apparently occurred during the usually unremarkable proceedings.

After the Meridian and Cavalier Attendants have impressed the great seal and pronounced assent from the throne, a measure was laid before the royal presence to express condolences for the recent loss of life at a tragic series of attacks in the Glasic nation.

This incident follows a previous series on the Glasic capital city, Avallone, just last December. A similarly tragic event occurred in Dayashina earlier last year.

"Before the Enclosure Gate, the Protonotaries, Your subjects, reverently show: the President of Correspondence, the Minister of the Left, the Minister of the Right, the Secretary of State for Civil Affairs, the Secretary of State for Public affairs, the Secretary of State for the Environment, the Secretary of State for Public services, the Secretary of State for Transport, the Secretary of State for Appropriations, the Secretary of State for Technology, the Secretary of State for Commerce, the Secretary of State for Defence, the Secretary of the Left, the Secretary of the Right, Your subjects, reverently show:

Whereas, on the 2nd of Feb. last, a tragic incident occurred in the allied state of Tir Glas, causing at least 77 fatalities and more injuries,

Whereas, as a state sharing in its friendhip and assistance for the previous seventy years and then much longer,

We, your subjects, pray it may please Your Majesty to accept and pronounce to Tir Glas Your Majesty's sympathy for the grieved and suffering, and condolences the terrible losses in life that occurred on the day afore-said;

And furthermore, we, Your subjects, pray it may also please Your Majesty to issue letters of consolation in Your Majesty's sympathy that move the heavens and the earth, to those Tir Glasians currently in Themiclesia and have suffered the loss of their family or friends, and we, Your subjects afore-mentioned, make obeisance again and so show reverently.

And we, Your subjects afore-mentioned, make obeisance again and so show reverently."

The Empress Dowager was pleased to give royal assent to the foregoing measure.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister read his declaration to the Court, regarding the government's position on the recent affairs.

"Your Majesty's subject, President of Correspondence Mrong, reverently addresses Your Majesty,

"Your subject has heard recently of the terrible events that transpired in Avallone, once in Decenmber, and again only two days ago, and in view of its implications on the peace and good governance of this country and the expectations and concerns of the people, Your subjects, the several secretaries of state, have diligently prepared the following for the knowledge of the great and high officials before Your Majesty.

"Our understanding of the situation is, in the plainest terms, imperfect. We wish that whoever perpetrated these most tragic, most terrible feel no ill towards our country or any of its people. We have no reason to think that our policies towards foreign states and the conduct of our representatives abroad have constituted affront or otherwise has moved ill-meaning individuals to something akin to the explosions in Avallone.

"In recent years, this government has sought to rebuild the trust and privilege that the world, in ancient times, vested in our custody. We cannot ignore the several times when we have failed to meet the expectations of foreign states when we ought to. We may confidently say that all of them have been supremely instructive in what a responsible nation ought to react in various circumstances, including dire ones.

"To address concerns which have been voiced by prominent individuals, this government wishes to assure all parties that the country is well-defended in terms of force, against miscreants. Defence spending has increased considerably in recent years, by as much as 25%; the defence forces have endeavoured to procure the newest and most effective measures to defend our country's precious peace.

"Yet the defence forces are, ultimately, the last resort Themiclesia has towards its problems. Our most revered predecessors, wise and sagacious ministers before us, have told us that force is never the solution to any problem. At the very best it is a compromise with a foreign actor, arbitrated by the life and death of our citizens and therewith the size of our wallets. No matter the enemy, human life will be lost, ours or theirs. As our predecessor, President of Correspondence Kaw so memorably said, before this very Court, in 1930, "Who is not a brother or son, and who else is not a husband or father?"

"We are firmly in our belief that no person ever starts a war for no good reason, or any rational government. Rather than resorting to force, Themiclesia has historically asked itself what are the roots of current problems. We must ask, how else can the vines of wrath be starved of the juices of anger on which they feed, rather than how can one raze off its violent blossoms and watch it return and grow another season. These are the steps that our predecessors have found and proven valid, and this government will not abandon them.

"These are the reasons why the Foreign Office has forwarded a white paper calling for an independent analysis for Themiclesia's policies in each foreign state and how their governments and peoples react to them. We believe only through greater understanding and conciliation can we avoid the root of the problem in foreign animosity. Eighty years ago it led to one of the gratest wars in the history of the world, and we are emboldened by the mandate that this country's people have lain on our shoulders, to demonstrate to the world that ours is the desire of some of the finest and most conscientious for an excellent reason. We are sure, beyond doubt, that the world's governments are in a common alliance with us arising out of the common human mind that exists before and transcends national borders, religious beliefs, and political doctrine.

"May it please Your Majesty."

Then, the Foreign Secretary delivered a speech before the Throne.

"[...]

"The Prime Minister has put this government's position with precise arguments and compelling terms.

"As with the common philosophy that all men share and the most stringent and exacting requirements that we, the several secretaries of state, Your Majesty's subjects, have the distinct honour to shoulder, the world is a fast-changing place. The Foreign Office has striven with all resources at its command to defend the country's peace acquired through innumerable and humbling sacrifices that individuals have made, and no part of the society need be concerned that any man here is doing the utmost to protect it against erosion by confusion or malice.

"Were it up to us or our allies, all states are responsive to the demands of its people; however, as the Prime Minister states, the world is imperfect. We are unfortunately unable to know what its complete picture is and all the interests that may cause unforeseen consequences. The state of Vyzhva is, by all accounts, one such opaque place. We would emphasize that our mission in Vyzhva is maintaining regular disocurse with their leadership, but answers are not forthcoming as to its connections with the events in Tir Glas. We have theories as to why this may be the case, but nowhere do we find a place where we can help the situation. The Prime Minister has mentioned that, despite many things, our abilities are limited; if they were not, this Office would be extraneous, and the defence forces with it. I am certain that my colleague, the Secretary of State for Defence, agrees.

"Yet in spite of these facts, we have no reason to believe that our country is threatened, even the most remotely, by anything resembling what occurred in Tir Glas a few days ago. They obviously make the best choices available to them, as do we. We know that we have objectives that differ in apperance but agree in principle. It may come as no surprise, then, that the respective foreign ministries of Tir Glas and that of Dayashina, they close ally, have conversed with each other and assured this government, in a very complete statement, that nothing concerning has arisen. We are inclined to agree with them, and the evidence from them and from our most able colleagues so moves us. Though some of their statements may appear contradictory to what we have recounted so far, we ought not forget that diplomacy is rarely the most overt art. We hope and anticipate that our concerns with instabilities in Vinya are soon to a conclusion, satisfactory to all parties concerned.

"As for the military exercise to occur between the Dayashinese and us, the Secretary of State for Defence will be delighted to cover in more detail. As part of my portfolio, I wish to assure the Court and its great, high, and potentious members, that all views are adequately accounted for.

"May it please Your Majesty.

And some time later, the Secretary of State for Defence spoke.

"[...]

"Your Majesty, it is the desire of Your subject and his servants, in the first place, to account for some recent activities that have come to public attention.

"First, the Air Force has reported that the second batch of F-35 fighter jets have reached shore a few days ago and now are being tested. Results are positive and as expected thus far, and this ministry will ensure that all receivables are in proper order, to give the fullest and most responsible treatment of public funds that the Ministry of Defence has committed to during their initial purchase and to assure the public that tax money has been used according to all pertaining legislation.

"Second, the Air Force has reported that Themiclesia's third patch of the N-10 helicopter is now out of development. The Data Processing Systems ltd., in partnership with the Civil Aviation Group, via its subsidiary Xenon Technologies ltd., is slightly late to deliver its electronics; nevertheless, no action is to be had, as contract provides a slight buffer to account for various delays, which have unfortunately but unforeseeably occurred.

"Third, the Air Force has submitted an additional budget measure that this Ministry will examine closely relating to the upcoming exercise with Dayashinese forces as the Minister of the Left has lately mentioned. Of the exercises that the Air Force has participated in the past, this one takes place in a rather different environment and will involve flight over thickly forested terrain and aquatic environments. Relevant funds will be charged to the Consolidated Fund such as article 140 through 151 of the Discrete Defence Expenses Act, c. 12, G-L. LXIII requires. The Chief of the Air Staff reports that he will develop strategies with his subordinates intensely and meet the challenge with resolution and diligence.

"Fourth, the Navy has submitted an additional budget measure for the prolongation in the storage of the N-8 helicopters.

"Fifth, the Navy has reported that STS Rang-trjung has been handed over to the Museum of Maritime Trade as a display piece. This matter is reported to the Court, and we beg Your Majesty's pardon to intrude upon the precious time of the great and high officials before Your Majesty, out of the requirement of articles 40 and 41 in the Disclosure Act, passed in the fiftiety year of the late Emperor's reign.

"Sixth, the Army reports that nothing under the Disclosure Act has occurred within the previous month meriting mentioning before the Court.

"Seventh, in recognition of the selfless and commendable act of throwing himself under a bus to rescue a pedestrian, for which he suffered fractures to the femur and ribs, the Chief of the Army Staff reverently petitioned this Court to recommend to the Emperor the honour of the Lieutenant of Timbers for Sergenat Hljang of the Third Division; the same was ratified by the Protonotaries, and to which Your Majesty has graciously granted royal assent three months ago. Sergenat Hljang, having been discharged from hospital, is present at Court today to accept Your Majesty's bestowal of this title upon him. The Chief of the Army Staff deeply and again in obeiscance, in the accustomed manner, if it please Your Majesty.
