"It seems easier to just disappear... I can't focus, I didn't sleep at all last night," admitted Jess, finally looking up.

"oI can't blame you," Martin said, his arm creeping around jJess' shoulders. "Are you still sure you won't go to the cops? He's looking around, you know...the cunt. Anyway...if you want to get away from everyone I'll take you to a restaurant or shopping or something. Fuck school, you're far more important."

Jess smacked his hand away indignantly. "If you think it's best to tell the cops, you can, but I don't want Deimmar going after you or Anja or any of my other friends to get revenge on me. You're the only witness to what happened, you become a target it you call the police."
She shrugged. "I'll see how classes go and bail if things are too bad," she added.

"Jess..." Martin said slowly. "If I had a gun now, Deimmar wouldn't still be alive. That is how I feel on this. Anywhere...I'm sure I won't get killed by KwaDai. I'm more worried about you though. You're not in shock or anything, are you?|

After what seemed like an eternity of waiting and listening to the two girls next to him, the taxi Mikhail had been waiting for finally arrived.

Mikhail opened the door and stepped in. In thickly-accented English, he told the cabbie "The international school, please."

The driver looked at Mikhail confused and replied with a very slight Indian accent. "She can come too but I am very sorry, I don't know which school you are talking about. Do you have a street name or area code?", he asked.

Pulling a small, hastily written note from his pocket, Mikhail slowly read off "Imperial School of Yafran, Al Sufouh 10, Al Jazeera al Hamra."

He stumbled over the foreign words, making as much effort as he could to properly pronounce them but ultimately failing. It was bad enough that English already posed a slight challenge; now Mikhail would have to cope with a language that was half phlegm.

"Jess..." Martin said slowly. "If I had a gun now, Deimmar wouldn't still be alive. That is how I feel on this. Anywhere...I'm sure I won't get killed by KwaDai. I'm more worried about you though. You're not in shock or anything, are you?|

"I don't know... I hope not... Possibly," said Jess. "But this affects me more than you think... If my family finds out about this I'm not going to exactly be welcomed home.. I'm technically not supposed to be sleeping with anyone while I'm away but I was doing a good job of making sure my family didn't find out until now."

Bianca put the rest of her bags in the trunk, and then climbed through the already-opened door. "Thanks." She half mouthed, half whispered to the boy next to her, gesturing at him with her eyebrow. She shut the door behind herself, and looked at the meter; it already read 'Imperial School of Yafran'. Bana. Bianca buckled up and leaned back, expecting the vehicle to move at any moment.

"She said something about Operation Storm, didn't she?" sighed Anja. "The first time we fought she kept referencing that to hype up the fight, even though she knows how sore of a subject it is for me. That was our worst military defeat ever, even if you count battles we fought before independence."

Salman chuckled, picking up his plate and getting a decent, well balanced breakfast.

"That's terrible," he said, trying desperately to relate but inwardly wondering if Jess was exaggerating just a little bit. "Are you saying your parents would blame you for...what happened?"

Martin put his fork down and hugged her comfortingly.
"That's terrible," he said, trying desperately to relate but inwardly wondering if Jess was exaggerating just a little bit. "Are you saying your parents would blame you for...what happened?"

"You don't understand, Martin," sighed Jess. "My brother Seb would stick with me but other than that my family would push me away for making them look bad... That's what happens when you're from the most powerful family in the country I suppose."

"It was completed August 7th," explained Anja. "In the Republika Kroatien, the autonomous area in Western Armeia that Luka is in, it's a national holiday there... The rest of us usually take that day to mourn our dead."

"I suppose," Martin said, not really understanding the concept. "Why wouldn't your family just cover it up? Anyway...if things will be that bad, what does life hold for you now?"

"So are you guys ready for geography? It's our first class this morning", Tareq asked the group of Salma, Tarik and Zdenko at the table after taking a bite of lychee out of his fruit salad. Meanwhile, he had now noticed what Zdenko had mentioned earlier, the grey haze out at sea. Taking out his phone he quickly searched up the weather forecast for the next few days. "Crap...it's early", he whispered under his breath.

"That cheeky Saseko......."Ji An muttered to herself. "Well thanks for telling me, I appreciate it" Ji An stated as she leaned back in the cab exhausted.

"Yeah, we better go now," said Tarik, finishing his food. He hoped geography wasn't going to be hard, he wasn't good at it.

Jess

"It's kind of hard to cover things up where I'm from..." said Jess, standing up and leaning against the wall. "But, like, I'd probably get sent to some place abroad, maybe a college."

"Hm I dunno about that, you know the longer you keep an opponent around by being methodical or toying around leaves you open for a mistake and could be what she wants. Just remember the match first instead of revenge." Ji An replied

"I may as well explain this now...", Tareq sighed.

"We haven't had any rain, not a drop for over six months with temperatures above 40°c for a lot of that. Now that's not unusual we do live on the edge of a desert after all but every year for a few days we get very very heavy rain and wind usually after a period of intense heat and dryness so I expect that is what we can expect anytime soon, maybe this evening maybe tomorrow, I don't know exactly but it will come. Don't worry though it won't last very long, three days at the most, then it will go back to arid and warm again...just to prepare you", he explained. "Now! Lets walk to geography if you're all finished eating, we have a few minutes to spare so there's no rush".

Tarik

Tarik nodded and got up, taking out his notepad and scribbling down a few things about the cloud. He never knew what he'd use in a song, which is why he took notes on a large variety of subjects.
