The Ventismar Union

The Ventismar Union which was founded in 1990 is an international organization which promotes freedom, free trade and welfare among its members. One of its most iconic things is the single currency, the Lind, which is used in most member states.

The Ventismar Union's member states are rich western nations, located in the centre north of Sunalaya. On a continent named Ventismar. Throughout history these nations were rivals, but after the great wars the continent saw that cooperation would solve their problems, instead of brute force or diplomatic bullying. Unlike other nations in the world these countries set their differences aside; and promoted freedom, trade and overall prosperity.

Proposals

The Ventismar Union Common Economic Foreign Policy (VUCEFP) Bill

We must assure that the VU works together in trade to assure the optimum cooperation and benefit of all member nations, therefore, we propose this bill to the VU parliament.

1)Common Economic Interests
All nations in the VU will work together on shared interests regarding economy and money.
Each nation has the right to census trade, imports and exports as they would wish.
Any tax or tariff that is wished to be applied on trade goods must be accepted by all members in order to come into effect.
Each nation retains the right to agree on trade with other nations, which agreement would only apply to said nation

2)Foreign Trade
All trade agreements with the VU as a whole and foreign entities apply on all VU members

3)Overseas Territories
Overseas territories of member nations (e.g. Tahberl) will be treated as members of the VU when it comes to trade deals, meaning that they can supply their own goods while competing and profiting from the main VU market.

The Mandatory Popular Consultation on VU Treaties Bill

In order to guarantee the observance of the people's will by the Ventismarian governance, we believe that any international treaty, either between VU member states or between the VU and non member states, shall be ratified by people through referendum in each member state, therefore, we propose this bill to the VU parliament.

1)Mandatory Popular Consultation on VU Treaties
All nations in the VU will hold referenda with no quorum on the international treaties submitted by the Ventismarian Parliament
Referenda must be held within 4 months of the directive of the Ventismarian Parliament
Referenda must have positive response in all nations in order to proceed to the signing of the treaty

2)Procedure regarding future member states
By entering the Ventismarian Union, a nation automatically signs all the treaties previously approved and in effect at that date

3)Withdraw from treaties
Nations can withdraw from treaties only through abrogative referenda that cancel the result of the first referendum
Treaties cancelled in some nations will remain valid for the rest of the VU until the Ventismarian Parliament or further referenda in all the nations will cancel them

The First Ventismarien Union Expansion Bill

Following negotiations, the terms of the first Ventismarien Union expansion are now applicable to be applied to newly joining members

1)Appliment of VU treaties on new members
The Constitutional Democracy of Vekalse, The Kingdom of Magashegyi, The Republic of Kurilsk, The Crown Republic of Romaleus and The National Republic of SuperFruitLand hereby must comply with the following terms
Entry into the Treaty of Freiburg For Economic, Social and Cultural Collaboration and Collective Self-Defence promoting and managing cultural events and cultural preservation
Entry into the Ventismarien Unified Economic Zone opening all boundaries of resources between VU nations and recording resources as if the VU was a single political entity
Entry into the Ventismar Union Parliament and political system enacting law by the will of the people
Entry into the Ventismarien International Judiciary and union with the Ventismarien court system
Entry into the Ventismarien Nation State Zone and abolishment of borders between VU members

2)Enactment of VU laws on national level
All laws passed by the VU parliament will hereby be enact and put into effect on the sovereign territories of The Constitutional Democracy of Vekalse, The Kingdom of Magashegyi, The Republic of Kurilsk, The Crown Republic of Romaleus and The National Republic of SuperFruitLand

3)Line straightening on Foreign Affairs
