A beginners guide...

The WorldVision Song Contest, based on the Eurovision Song Contest aims to provide and unite nations from different parts of the World through music. The WorldVision Song contest is an outlet to showcase the popular or native music of your nation. As with every contest, there are a few simple regulations that need to be adhered to.

  1. No real-life song can be entered into the WorldVision Song Contest; of course, the melody can be used but at least 80% of the lyrics must be re-written. Translations of real-life songs will result in immediate disqualification.
  2. Nation's are free to choose to host a national final or internally select their representative.
  3. It is compulsory to vote. Failure to do so will result in a one-contest ban.
  4. Each nation may enter ONE puppet nation; the master nation must confirm their puppet. Should a nation is found to be in breach of the one-puppet nation rule, sanctions and a disqualification will be put in place.
  5. A debutante nation cannot bid to host the WorldVision Song Contest. A nation must have entered and completed one Contest in order to qualify to host a Song Contest. Furthermore, a nation that has put a host bid CANNOT vote for their own bid. This ensures a democratic, and fair result.
  6. If a nation enters a puppet nation, the maximum amount of points that can be awarded to each nation is up to five points thus ensuring a fair and more equal chance for all nations to succeed within the Contest. If a nation is found to have awarded a higher amount of points, the committee will first allow said nation to alter their votes. If said nation fails to adhere to Committee reminders, the votes will be rendered void and will result in disqualification.
  7. If you suspect another entry to be either wholly or mostly plagiarised, please telegram the WorldVision Committee with your concerns. The committee will then review the entry before making a judgement. If your entry is disqualified for whatever reason, you will not be reinstated even if you edit your entry.
  8. Only the current host of a Contest or the WorldVision Committee can reveal results during the voting process.
  9. Under no circumstances will bullying, offensive and/or intimidating language or provocations of any form be accepted within the Contest, within both IC and OOC threads. WorldVision promotes peaceful and friendly environment. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. If at any point, you feel you are a victim, or feel someone has been victimized by another nation, contact the Committee, or a member of the Committee immediately. The Committee will ensure anonymity/confidentiality at all times.

Bam! Both EDO and Electrum sign on... for further details see below.

Network ENN Selection

If you vote in our National Final, then if you have one of your own, please link to it in your telegram, and I will vote in it too. This is the selection for Electrum's song, not the Electrum Diplomatic Offices.

The Electrum Diplomatic Offices will be represented instead by Gertrude Pullman with Everybody Sucks! (Especially the Youth)

Network ENN hereby starts the selection for the song for the 39th Worldvision Song Contest. After a great performance last edition, Network ENN is looking to seek the opinion of famous and well-informed international jurists to help decide Electrum's song. As Monday's Child's song "We're Just Fine" did particularly well last time, the runner-up of the last selection contest has being given a second chance. This song will be joined by four new songs. The song order has been randomised. Here's how the voting system works:

Give one point to the song you least prefer, then in order of preference: 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 points to the song you most prefer. Please send the telegram to this nation, Electrum Diplomatic Offices. The following song choices are:

By the by
by the Half Dollar Duo

Alo Contjalest Esa Poual Chantjal - Normand National Final
Image

BNRT has confirmed that Normandy and Picardy will return to the contest and so will Alo Contjalest Esa Poual Chantjal, the national final. A national jury, a televote and international juries will help decide which act will represent Normandy and Picardy at Worldvision 39. There are songs from across the Normand music scene, from the 80s revival to modern(ish) pop music. There are eight songs in total to choose from, so get voting! Just send a TG to Normandy and Picardy with 8 points for your favourite song down to 1 point for your least.

1 Où étiez-vous? - Maria Junsaer
Language(s) - French
Maria Junsaer, a Worldvision fan since it was first shown in Normandy and Picardy from WV32 and who campaigned for the country to enter, which it eventually did in WV34, has had 2 hit number ones and is a host of a Friday night show, 'Fun Fridays'. This song was written by her and a top Normand producer, Mark Gattison. The song is in French, Maria's first language as she is from the South East of the country.

2 I Need Your Love - Susana Pjapurt
Language(s) - English
Susana has recently signed with the BNRT owned record label and so was entered by the company into the selection process. She hopes she can kickstart her career across the multiverse as well as in Normandy and Picardy. She won the talent show, 'Quell Poualest Esa Val' (What Can You Do') in which she had wowed the Normand public (who are easily pleased) before being signed up.

3 I Want You - Sophie
Language(s) - English
Sophie, full name Sophie-Ann Jasperon, is an artist from Cherbourg, a port town home to the Cherbourg School Of Voice, which is second only to Rouen University's specialist music campus. She has had a series of top hits, and is hoping to bring her music to the WorldVision masses and make a name for herself across the multiverse.

4 Efryan - Er Rouennaise (Scared - The 'Rouennaise')
Language(s) - Rouennaise
A band who grew up within the Free City of Rouen, Er Rouennaise are very proud of their home and heritage and are a major part of the devolution movement, despite the extensive powers the city already has. This is why they are to sing in Rouennaise, a language which has been noted for it's distinct sounds and relation to Picard, spoken in the north east. They want to show the world Rouennaise culture and the language as well as to spread their message.

5 Oàn aféré-tos añeare? - Julia (Where have you gone?)
Language(s) - Rouennaise
Also from Rouen, Julia actually spent most of her youth travelling around with her father, as his job involved moving around the country. At the age of 12, she was forced to live with her grandparents in Rouen so she could have some stability in regards to school. She was taught Rouennaise by her grandparents, although she feels much less of a connection with Rouen than most from the city. She decided to enter a song in Rouennaise to highlight the language and the city of Rouen.

6 You Can Run - Small Lords
Language(s) - English
An electronic/synth-pop band from Avranches, Small Lords won "Best Breakthrough" at the Normand Music Academy Awards (NMAA) and have spearheaded the revival of synth-pop and new wave music in Normandy and Picardy. This song, like many off their other songs, has a deliberate message, this one about the role of the internet in society. They want to showcase Normand talent at WorldVision and they love the contest, so would love to go and perform in it.

7 Hiding Secrets From Myself- False Remedy
Language(s) - English
Another part of the 80s revival in Normandy and Picardy, False Remedy won best album at the NMAA, beating The Subtle Swords and Joanna Hugenot. They hate the style of music pioneered by Small Lords, and see it as unreal and fake. The band has a large following in Normandy and Picardy, and so the band feel that they will truly represent Normandy and Picardy

8 I Love You - The Swingers
Language(s) - English
Hoping to bring something different to the competition, The Swingers applied and were chosen as a wildcard act. Although relatively unknown, their music has been hailed by critics as refreshing and a good taste of the past. No one expected to see an act like this in the national final, so it came as a shock to most, even within BNRT.

With the end of the 38th Worldvision Song Contest, the PNB has decided to opt for a National Final yet again to determine Polkopia's entry. This National Final will once again be the Landa vy Polkopiya, which has served as Polkopia's National Final for several editions now. However, the formatting for the contest has been altered. In the past, only seven songs had qualified for the Grand Final. Now, due to the popularity of the Landa vy Polkopiya, that number has been brought up to ten. Furthermore, the end result will now be determined using a 50/50 international jury/televote system, meaning that Polkopians will once again have a say in who will represent them this edition!

In order to vote, please send a Telegram to Polkopia with the songs rated in Worldvision format (12 points to your favorite, 10 point to your second favorite, and 8-1 points for the rest.)

This entry has been controversial, especially among conservatives, as they see the actor and comedian Hans Rolf mocking Göring with his imitation and portrait of him. Furthermore, the lead singer of Der Luftwaffe is rumored to have a Jewish grandfather, which is not popular among the more fanatical party members even if the rumors have not yet been confirmed. Still, most Bad Nazis, especially the young, love the song. And since the Führer has the last say, the number will be performed.

Nation retconned: The Reich is now Nazis only aesthetically, not politically (although they still call themselves Nazis, but it doesn't mean anything. Hitler died in 1938, Himmler, Goebbels, Göring and the other criminals lost their power in the following power struggle and the Reich became a "regular" corrupt dictatorship). It's based/stuck in the 1950s - 60s, but thanks to Die Glocke we can interact with all worlds. WWII still happened, but ended in a tie. Some Wunderwaffe exist (such as UFO:s and Die Glocke), as well as revived dinosaurs.

This is only a parody nation. I do not endorse National Socialism in any way, nor the people associated with that ideology.
