Well, in a bizarre way that makes sense. Except we'd probably just pay more attention to ship size, anyways. Some nation's battleships are the size of our cruisers and some nations have destroyers bigger than our warp ships, so we don't really care what they are called. We reassign designations based on size. The same as our ships pretty much, except Scimitar sized ships fall under "battleship class" and 3 km - 10 km falls as "dreadnought class". Anything between 10 and 80 kilometers is "super dreadnought class". 100 - 1000 kilometers would be "battlestation class", and above 1000 would be "planetoid class".
