I gotta find out what issue this is from, bro.

That's one of the newest issues, that's what happens when you agree to allow the AIs run the economy.

Just bought 20g of BSCCO, and the physics department is letting me use some of their liquid nitrogen.

I have been preparing for this.

And I am ready.

Haha, you make it sound so intense. Really, it's just a mundane little thing that only interests hardcore science geeks like myself for more than a passing moment. No explosions, just a floating piece of ceramic. Really, it's only exciting and remarkable if you know enough about magnets in the first place to note the extreme differences in behavior.

It is fucking awesome, hence the reason I'm slapping down a fair sum just to play with it on my own. I'm just saying that, to appreciate the fucking awesomeness, one has to understand why it's so fucking awesome. Most people probably assume unconstrained levitation is a property of ordinary ferromagnets as well, so some explanation is required as to why superconducting diamagnets are so fucking awesome.

BSCCO sux balls. It can only be used for high-field magnets due to having low H*, unlike YBCO.

Feck. Oh well, I can cancel the order, then have some strong words with the physics department for not telling me. They should be able to put me in contact with the supplier again so I can get my hands on YBCO. Then again, would a neodymium magnet suffice even for BSCCO?

You probably know significantly more about inorganic chemistry than me, as the most advanced education in that field that I possess consists of two semesters of AP chem back in highschool. Everything since then has been either on my own time, or in occasional and irregular instances in which my studies and research overlap with that of other fields.

Hell, I had a seizure when they showed the floating paperclip in our science class. They took a magnet and put it on a pole, and then put a paperclip tied to a string that was slightly shorter than to the pole close to the magnet. It blew my mind how objects could seemingly levitate. And then how you can use electricity to do the same thing, but you can turn it on and off?

Easily one of the coolest things about superconducting magnets is their ability to levitate... without the string.

And science..., science is fecking awesome.

Nowadays, the average Vistoran sports a fair number of subtle genetic augmentations. Oddly enough, however, these rarely include an increase in height; despite everything, the average Vistoran adult male stands at just a hair above 170 cm. Soldiers, however, usually recieve augs that more visibly enhance their physique.

Holy fuck, that's some excellent work!

I've always wanted to make a weapon sheet (among other things), but I don't have access to decent art tools anymore. :(

Nah, this computer runs on Ubuntu, and I'm too lazy to look into Linux-friendly software (which I might have a hard time running, considering I can't even get teamspeak to work properly).

Something bad happened to it and the only way my friend could salvage it was by putting a new OS on it. Ubuntu was free. :<

Anyway, there is a reason my mom's been doing so much tax homework. I maybe (just maybe) might be getting a pretty good gaming rig in the near future. Maybe.

Also, just saw it. Fucking incredible. 9.5/10 easily. Better than anything Lucas made imo.

Sounds great. I'm considering selling my old PC and getting a PS4 with the cash. It might be an old fart of a computer, but it was an absolute beast of a rig back in its heyday and at least some of the parts probably still cost a premium.
