Happy birthday, Singapore. Here is a link to a live-action PTFS vs. Gigaverse battle.

It's an Interdimensional force of Agricultural Fanatics, that plan to turn the Earth into a Farm.

Weaponized farming equipment is one of Aeiouia's things. Our MLRS unit is literally a tractor, for instance. *Combine Harvesters are totally not possibly alt-canon Aeiouia, and I am totally not using that idea*

Actually, both are delicious. I've tried a deep-fried banana and a deep-fried ice cream on a day trip to Glasgow once.

A fair warning; if you try to write a description as extensive as that for even a moderately sized arsenal, it'll start getting old fast.

I'm not saying there aren't exceptions. I'm saying that you're not likely to be one of them. Then again, that isn't for me to decide.

It also makes a person stronger as a writer and their products much stronger - I mean, better then just a picture and stats out the ass. Not to say simple products are bad, but I think if a person pours work into a product or other work of writing they should feel good about themselves - I'd also acknowledge that person's ability to research into the subjects of their product and their ability to write that amount description fluently. I think it doesn't need to be said a well written product is a better product. As mentioned, more power to you the writer for a better product and better enthusiasm to write whatever you find interesting.

Worldbuilding / extensive setting is best. *Nods*

Although I suppose concise is even better.

I have to say that I probably prefer shorter, denser factbooks that are about where a NS nation is now, rather than Factbooks in the form of The Complete History of Romania, Vol. II. I like to have one nice big overview I can read that's dissimilar to a regular wikipedia page, and then be able to just jump straight into RPing.

Now, the thing is, I know that "show, don't tell" is a big thing for writing, but I think Factbooks are actually a golden opportunity to do the opposite. Wikipedia is supposed to be unbiased and draw from many sources, but you don't have to. You know what's going on in your country and you don't have to reverse-engineer it, so it's possible to say it directly. I want to know what your country feels like and where it fits thematically rather than the particulars of the parliamentary seats or the calibers of its assault rifles.

I suspect that a lot of NS players don't share my preference.

Nah, that's a pretty good preference to have, especially for people active in RPing and such. I would MUCH rather know, briefly summarized, a nation's history and character, as it helps to get a handle on who I am dealing with. When I was active on F7, I would always be that one guy who made a point to write a full sentence or several drawn directly from factbook information, which was a hell of a lot easier when I didn't have to sift through an endless morass of filler, divided amongst various factbooks with terribly uninformative titles. That's why I try to consolidate all of my info into one two factbooks.

Speaking of which, I am always open to ideas, suggestions, questions, critiques, criticisms, and such regarding my own nation info. All of which I appreciate.

Well, there's the Database-styled factbook writing for people like Blak, me, Frenco, the guys who just get some military gear up.

Or the 'incomprehensible self note' styled factbooks of Gigaverse that forces you to do a bullet pointed dispatch on facts one needs to know without diving into the morass. Personally, I'd appreciate if everyone did a bullet pointed intro to their nation before reading their factbooks to get them a basic idea of what the fuck is going on, as I too hate reading the factbooks for hours and then getting ninja'd when finally drawing up a response.

This seems to be the main reasoning for the NS statistics users, may they forever be damned.

Wow. Three whole paragraphs without a single dank meme. This is possibly the deepest conversation LoM has ever had.
