REPORTS FROM BATTLE OF SVETA KATA

Yesterday Kravatoan and Vacrusian forces fought the first major battle of the war around the town and naval base of Sveta Kata. The base, close to Vacrusian lines, is the easternmost position of the Kravatoan military on the island.

At 6:00 am yesterday, forces from Vacrus’s surprise invasion advanced into the town limits of Sveta Kata. Around 6:45, fighting between the local garrison and this force began. The town is a key objective in the Vacrusian invasion, and Vacrus sent the bulk of its forces to take it.

Around 8:00 am, Vacrusian forces began to shell the town with light artillery, damaging the historic 1800s houses of the town and wounded and killing several civilians. After intense fighting until 4:00 pm, Kravatoan forces retreated from the town to the naval base, where the local squadron of 2nd fleet vessels launched missile strikes into Vacrusian resupply lines.

Currently, the town of 15,000 has been taken, signaling the danger of the war. These people will no longer be able to vote, nor practice free religion. Not just this, but the according to battlefield reports, Kravatoan POWs have been killed. The defeat is demoralizing, and alarming. All across the nation, volunteer numbers have spiked as many want to get revenge. Casualties are yet counted, but expected to be approximately 200 for Kravatoan forces and 100 for Vacrusian forces.


KRAVATOAN AND VACRUSIAN GOVERNMENTS NEGOTIATE

With the onset of true war apparent, Sandro Burkas has made his intentions clear to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. Today, he announced his plans to begin war negotiations with Vacrus, citing the battle of Sveta Kata as evidence of the coming brutality of the war.

“I am not a belligerent man,” he said to the Forum. He has invited Vacrusian delegates to speak with him in the Ministorial Ranch outside of Tuxernobli. He later declared that he wouldn’t back down from the 1623 line, saying “No matter the bloodshed however, I will not see Kravato become a weak nation under my watch. We will try to find a solution in the coming days, but do not worry, for it is our utmost intention to secure liberty and freedoms for our people.”

This comes just days after the declaration of war. One could wonder what the true intentions of these actions are, if they are to stall or to actually find peace. We will surely see in the coming days.

Throngist dictator Taica Berislavić officially has the Sapli Fever

It has now been officially confirmed that the fever-like symptoms developed by dictator Taica Berislavić were part of the Sapli Fever, a highly deadly virus originating in Kravato, which is currently battling the Sapli epidemic. The Sapli diagnosis was announced by the Throngist regime's head of the government Jarren Prica, who has been personally reporting on all diagnoses and giving health updates on the condition of Berislavić before the Throngist Party. Prica made the initial announcement that Berislavić was ill and reported on his condition during treatment in quarantine. Prica announced the initial airborne disease diagnosis and announced yesterday earlier in the day that Berislavić had developed fever-like symptoms after 5 days of illness and quarantine. Later in that day, almost on the verge of Day 6 of quarantine, Prica confirmed that the Throngist dictator had been diagnosed with the Sapli Fever. Given that the Sapli Fever is highly lethal, its' treatment is not so effective because of how new the disease is and that it has recently killed the King of Kravato, the fate of Berislavić is now in question. Yet two questions now remain - how did Sapli reach the Throngist dictator all the way from Kravato and has not seemed to affect anyone else? Who is going to be in charge of the regime now?

Amak Submarines: the ugly, the bad and the good

In an official report released today, Amak Submarines announced that it is discontinuing the DS50 model and focusing on the DS30 and DS10 models. The company lists several reasons for this decision such as the model doing below Amak's expectations and the low demand on midget submarines in recent years. As a result, Amak is also planning to lower its staff by 30% and save costs in several departments.

Many experts agree on the fact that Amak Submarines failed to market its midget submarines and find the right partnerships within the submarine industry around the western isles, which is why the report mentions that the company's CEO Farid Rahhal is stepping down next month along with several executives for a complete rebuild of the company. Rumors about the Ferry Initiative investing in Amak and the potential merger between Amak Group and Rovantivi are making the future of Amak Submarines exciting to say the least. Moreover, the upcoming ET+EC conference this June is also a great opportunity for Amak to find new partners in the United Federation of Gael.

Speaking of an exciting future, Amak Submarines has also reported that it is working hard on a new project codenamed DSNN. Nasi Yuran, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will visit the nation of Kravato for an official state visit later this month as tensions between Kravato and Vacrus exploded into war between the two countries last week. Kravato and Vacrus have agreed to begin negotiations over the disputed Iersheno territory, claimed by both Kravato and Vacrus. Foreign Minister Yuran is expected to attend these talks as a neutral third party.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a press statement expressing "...a desire for peace, stability, and harmony between all nations, including Kravato." The Ministry has previously denounced Vacrusian aggression against Kravato, and the new 2024 budget is set to include discretionary spending for aiding Kravato

Tsunter Troops to be deployed to Iersheno

The Grand Conclave has announced today that military assistance will be provided to the Kravatoan government in the defence of the island of Iersheno. The small island has been embroiled in conflict for over a week after Vacrus sent 8,000 men to occupy Kravatoan land, a move that has sparked international outcry across the Western Isles. The Tsunter Government had previously declared its decision to increase sanctions on the Vacrusian regime.

The Grand Conclave has revealed that the 32nd Infantry Brigade, comprising approximately 3,000 men, will be deployed to the island to assist in the Kravatoan war effort. However, this decision has faced domestic criticism, with opposition politician Hilo Kaluhiwa speaking out against it. Kaluhiwa claims that the Grand Conclave should have insisted on operational independence and criticized the use of a conscript-based unit instead of the all-volunteer Expeditionary Organisations. Grand Conclave Press Secretary Cucumber Cadw defended the decision, stating, "The government has prioritised ending Vacrusian adventurism over all other foreign policy considerations. Deploying troops to Iersheno and saving lives is more important than wrangling over command structures with the Kravatoans."

In addition to the troop deployment, other military measures have been implemented in response to the conflict. The Army of the South has been mobilised and is now stationed defensively along the Tsunter-Vacrusian border. Elements of the First Fleet of the Tsunter Navy will also be deployed to Iersheno, although specific details about the nature of the naval contingent remain scarce. Some sources suggest that the Special Operations Naval Service, the Tsunter Navy's special operations unit, will also participate in the conflict, but this has yet to be confirmed.

To gather insights on the feelings of the soldiers about their new deployment, Tsunter Today reporter Flakes Bonnie visited Bonniemore Barracks, the usual base of the 32nd Infantry. Most soldiers expressed excitement and eagerness for their assignment, with anticipation running high for finally taking action against the theocratic Vacrusian regime, which has long posed a threat to regional and international security. Brigadier Stratus Bonnie, the commanding officer of the 32nd, informed Tsunter Today that he expects his troops to demonstrate both bravery and professionalism as they collaborate with Kravatoan military forces to defend their land against Vacrusian aggression.

Askusian reaction to Vacrus-Kravatoan War

A war has broke out between the mesder nations of Vacrus and Kravato over recent disputes between the two. With peace failing, and with Vacrus delcaring war on Kravato, shockwaves have already went out across the Isles. The Askusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a statement today regarding the current crisis unfolding in the region.

"It is clear that the path of war was decided by the regime in Vacrus”, said a spokeswoman for the AMFA, "And we are shocked that such a decision was made. Therefore our Government hopes that the conflict does not carry on long and that the bloodshed can be spared for diplomacy. Parliament has given the Ministry instruction that the nation of Krakato will be allowed to receive aid, whether it be financial or otherwise, as authorized between both the government of Kravato and the Republic. Additionally, Vacrus has been condemned for their escalation of a dispute into an armed conflict, Vacrus has no been cut of all access to the Central Canal to hurt its economy. We would like to drive home the desire, as many of other nations expressed, that the option of peace should not be removed or forgotten. There is still time to stop the conflict before it gets worse for all. Not only would this cause devastation for the nations involved, but it would have an widespread and felt impact on shipping across the Isles, hurting consumers all over. As of now, we shall wait and see what action are taken by both Vacrus, and Kravato.”

First National Party Splits

During today's legislative session, the leader of the First National Party, former Rhumba Tsumbia vel Kliig, announced that the party was going to rename itself "Rhu T'aazilai Throngist Beem hu Remodio", or "The National Throngist Party of Remodio." Kliig said this name-change was to differentiate the party for the Second National Party, which is currently in power. This sparked backlash from members of the party, who claimed that vel Kliig and other party leaders made the decision without consulting all members, and that they do not agree with Throngist principles. Six of the ten party members who are in the Remodin Legislature renounced their membership on the legislative floor and announced loyalty to different parties. Of those six, two joined the Chuuṣoostee Business Party, one joined the Second National Party and the other three formed their own party, known as "Rhu Chuuṣoostee Koliirai Beem", or "The Chuuṣoostee Conservative Party." The other four stayed apart of the newly-named National Throngist Party.

Since Remodio's legislative system was reformed in 2006, the makeup of the legislature has never been shaken up so drastically. Rhumba Tuurn Ropine had the following to say about the shift in the legislature:

"Today, Tsumbia vel Kliig and the National Throngist Party finally showed their true colors and they paid the price. They lost key members, and I look forward to working with them to contain the threat that is Throngism. If the party does not back down, I will see to it that they're banned from the legislature. For now, drowning out their voices is the only course of action."

In response to the renaming of the First National Party, the Second National Party has taken the opportunity to rename itself as well. Party leaders will discuss in the upcoming days what the new name shall be. Insiders expect the new name to be "The Party of Trua", a reference to the famous Remodin historical figure.

Not even a year after the 2022 election, and the Remodin Legislature is already shaken up. How will this affect future policies? How will Tuurn Ropine navigate this major shift? Remodin Political Analyst, our very own Kevon Buurdin, believes that one of two things will happen: The Throngist Party will die out and Tsumbia vel Kliig will be left standing alone in the legislature at its' sole member, or the party will make significant gains in the 2026 elections. Despite a surprising turn towards moderate centrism in the 2022 election, the perceived apathy of the Democracy Party and Tuurn Ropine's rhetoric against Lesvan Throngism has created a shift towards extremism displayed by national policy polls. More Remodins are supporting increased government control of the economy, which has always been the focus of the Second National Party. But more Remodins are also supporting pro-Chuuṣoostee national rhetoric, which was traditionally the focus of the First National Party until lately, where both government-controlled economics and nationalism have become the party's focus under Tsumbia vel Kliig. Depending on how he navigates the next 3 years, he can gain great power or fall flat on his face.

Romancia Situation Update: Baumes Suffers Defeat in Skovina

Skovina lays in ruins as Romancia regains control of the city.

ROCHELLE - In the late hours of May 14, Baumes launched a massive surprise attack on Romancian defenses near Skovina, quickly overrunning them. Nearby Vacrusian troops quickly rushed into battle and assisted the Romancians in defending their lines, resulting in the first direct engagement between Vacrus and Baumes. Despite their best efforts, however, the far-outnumbered Vacrusian and Romancian forces were eventually overwhelmed and defeated, allowing Baumes to move on to Skovina virtually uncontested. And on May 16, Baumes finally arrived on the outskirts of Skovina, met by a prepared Romancian force ready to defend their city no matter the cost.

More than two weeks into the battle, weak defensive lines and logistics have proven dangerous for Baumes, who earlier this morning retreated from Skovina with low ammunition and morale. Fighting in the city was considerably intense, with Romancians being pushed back to as far as the city center. In just a week, nearly a quarter of the entire city has been taken over by Baumes, with thousands of people fleeing Romancia each day. At least 55,000 Romancians have left their homeland, mostly fleeing to friendly or neutral states such as Kravato, Veldhaven and Bavarno. 13,000 troops from Romancia have been lost, and 7,900 from Baumes. Around 4,800 civilians have been killed as well. 100 have been lost from Vacrus as well, 2 civilians from Warfburg were also killed in a crossfire between Romancian militias and Baumish forces while attempting to save a family on May 19.

Initially, Baumes had the benefit of surprise during the offensive. For the first week, Romancia was barely hanging onto the attacks, which saw some of the deadliest airstrikes throughout the entire conflict. However, unknown groups have reportedly succeeded in intercepting several Baumish convoys carrying logistical support to Baumish forces in Skovina, after Baumes' main bridge for logistics mysteriously collapsed on May 10. Baumes believes that a third party is assisting Romancia, especially after the assassination of a Baumish general in Ringë on May 18. Their presence was confirmed during the Battle of Skovina Airport, in which unknown foreign troops assisted Romancians in defending the airport through heavy support.

By May 24, Baumes' element of surprise was beginning to wear off. On that day, Baumes lost central Skovina and saw heavy casualties. Baumes continued suffering defeat after defeat in Skovina in the next following days. Reportedly, Baumes was only holding onto around 5% of Skovina by May 30. The following day, a Baumish company was ambushed and massacred by Romancian guerilla groups operating in Skovina. As of June 2, it has been confirmed that Baumes has retreated and left urban Skovina.

Meanwhile, pressure is mounting heavier than ever on Baumish president Armando Guerrero. Earlier today, the International Court of Justice announced an arrest warrant for Guerrero, who is wanted for attacks conducted in civilian areas along with mistreatment of POWs. The organization urges all member nations to hand over Guerrero to their jurisdiction in case he ever lands on their territory. Due to this, Guerrero has canceled an official state meeting with Warfburgian president Jeremy Brennan scheduled for June 8. The Baumish parliament has also begun discussions of the removal of Guerrero.
