APROSIAN TOUR 'A SUCCESS', I FLORIN CELION FLIES TO THE INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT FOR GALA
Politics and International Relations
28th of January, 2021
DAŠARÓD, APROSIA- A rare sight in the realm of Roendavarieil politics as i Florin Celion Faunus Eleos Caenalren Iralethias toured the Aprosian People's Democratic Union, also known as Aprosia, as part of the Royal Tour. He would be the first Roendavarieil monarch to have ever visited Aprosia, signifying a normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries at the height of increased cooperation between the two.
On January 18, i Florin Celion Faunus Eleos Caenalren Iralethias landed in Dašaród International where he was welcomed by members of the Aprosian government. The entire 8 day tour was described to be 'solely professional' by the Royal Press. The Roendavarieil monarch visited the Council of States on January 19 and had a meeting with a majority of the Aprosians heads of state. During a formal speech, the Roendavarieil King expressed understanding and cooperation between the two countries, quote,
"...and it is, perhaps, a greater circumstance in which brings both our countries together for a purpose. It is not the differences that set what we be, but our similarities set what shall be. Similar interests, similar goals, similar missions, a similar vision for a future. This... this is why our two countries stand together today and, in goodwill, beyond."
Part of the Royal Tour in Aprosia included the King's visits to Roendavarieil investments in Aprosia, including factories, to assess their conditions. The following days of the tour focused on formalizing economic cooperation between the two countries. The Roendavarieil monarch has promised to allocate more investments into Aprosia in terms of economic growth, energy, social programs, and many more. A series of agreements were signed that detailed further cooperation between the two countries in the future, a move that would benefit both countries in the long run.
After negotiations and meetings were done, the Roendavarieil monarch toured the old Aprosian city of Ašín and visited important cultural sites in the area. It was reported that the King was in a good mood during the tour, mostly marvelling at the cultural sites of the old city. According to one of his aides, he was at awe at the different culture he had witnessed and expressed hope that he could return to Aprosia in the future.
On January 26, 2021, after days of touring Aprosia and attending meetings with state representatives, i Florin Celion Faunus Eleos Caenalren Iralethias departed Aprosia and arrived at the International District where he will be staying to help organize the Western Isles Gala that would see a meeting of much of the region's representatives. Reports released to the public say that the Gala was partly sponsored by the Roendavarieil government.
The overall mood of the Aprosian tour was seen as fairly neutral, which was no surprise to the Roendavarieil delegation. Unlike the countries of Ainslie and Thromsa who have close ties with the Roendavarieil monarch and have decades of cooperation with Roendavar, diplomatic relations with Aprosia, while established, were mostly out of the matter. In fact, Aprosia has been a controversial country to much of the Roendavari people. Several NGOs and advocacy groups have warned about the state of human rights in Aprosia, most notably its treatment of marginalized group and its status as a de facto dictatorship.
The Hall of the People have been the most vocal against the Roendavarieil monarch's visit to Aprosia.
Vaicaris Cierael Ivareinil Thasclerin, one of the most vocal members of the Hall of the People, have implored the Roendavarieil monarch to reconsider his visit to Aprosia, quote, "As a nation of compassion and understanding, we must not embrace though whose ideas stand against us. What use is our stance as the country who defends the rights of the people if government itself defiles it?"
Despite criticisms from various sectors of society, the Roendavarieil government has pushed through with establishing ties with Aprosia. Roendavarieil political experts say that this entire shift of present relations between the two couuntries are mostly economic in origin. Sweeping regulations and reform in the Roendavarieil government have resulted in manufacturing companies in Roendavar to outsource production to other countries. Furthermore, a growth in the Roendavarieil economy, fueled by its service sector and robust trade with other countries, have seen Roendavarieil investment directed to other countries. These, as well as the renewal of the Roendavarieil Cooperation and Investment Agency in 2017, have been tapped by Aprosia.
