RECOVERY BEGINS!
Following the disbandment of the Directory, aid has been redirected to the needs of the state. The Directory had made a plan of recovery for Alantania that favored the wealthy but that has been changed to suit the needs of all. All Directory laws are abolished and temporary martial law will be in effect nation wide until the constitution is ratified.

Secure Economic Zones, Free Trade Zones, and Export Processing Zones shall be erected in the following places, to stimulate economic growth:
Free Trade Zones (FTZ`s) shall be located in Ethed, Goza, and Adech.

Alantanian Refugees Still in Peanuta

Over 100,000 Alantanian refugees have washed ashore in Peanuta over the last few weeks. Even as the conflict in Alantania draws to a close, the Nutty government has not stated that they have any plan for returning the refugees.

Although most refugees remain in Hypogea after arriving on the west coast, Civil Guard forces from all six provinces have been deployed to help organize the refugees into camps. Hospitals in Sparkyville, Patchtown, and Newport are overflowing and the Coast Guard has rescued 13,000 refugees out of Peanuta's waters in the past week alone.

"These people have endured tragedy and violence beyond imagination and their country will take months to recover," said President Linus Van Pelt in a radio interview this afternoon. "I urge Nutty citizens to join me in showing compassion and support to our neighbors from the south."

His cousin Lucy Van Pelt, the Director of Economic Affaires took a more dismal view. "We are a nation of only 6 million that is still recovering from a major economic crisis," she said this morning at a trade conference she is attending in Ienempyr, Dashgrinaar. "We simply do not have the resources to sustain this many newcomers."

Chancellor Brown has acknowledged that harboring these refugees can only be temporary, but defended his decision not to deport them immediately. "We managed to avoid getting entangled with a catastrophic war in Atlantia," he said. "Helping out a few refugees sounds like a small price to pay."

His chosen Vice President was fellow candidate Abigail Thomas, due to her interest in economy.

Donella Campbell, sister of James Campbell, has announced she is running for Council, as the open position due to Rodger Jackson's step down. Due to her charismatic and political skills, many support her.

"The King of Kamieniec Podolski has done nothing to do about the death of a Merri delegate, and to improve his citizen's rights. I want to make good relations; On one condition. Communist Revolts heat up in Nimyal

The Workers Party of Usaimar has begun revolting and rioting against local government figures and police in Nimyal. This comes after the passing of a historic bill that declares openly supporting communist ideals a crime punishable by 6 months in prison. Riots started on the 29th of July, but have since heated up, now with an almost 14,000 estimated protesters. Riot police have been keeping the protesters out of key areas in Nimyal, and the Usaimarian Army has set up checkpoints outside the city to prevent any Communist supporters from escaping. A Usaimarian Army Lieutenant Colonel made a statement earlier today saying,

"We will continute to deploy forces in and around suspected places of Communist action and will not refrain from keeping them there for as long as need be. Make no mistake, these soldiers are not here to play, they are outfitted in full battle gear and are ready and willing to arrest or kill any protester who dares threaten them".

The LTC went on to say that the soldiers deployed will not openly engage in taking down protesters, only keeping them within the city limits for the Nimyalian police to handle them.

RDS. Cypres retired!

David Mar made the announcment 2 days ago about increased funding to the navy adding another 1billion USD to the budget. The budget has increased from 3.7billion to 4.7billion. Along with this announcment Mar announced that they would be retiring the RDS.Cypres. The RDS.Cypres which was a light fleet carrier.

The RDS.Cypres will be replaced with the RDS.Chumash Which will be completed in a month. The RDS.Chumash is a 2 tower super carrier with a CATOBAR assisted launch and landing system. The flight deck is 319m long and can hold 84 fighter jets, 15 helicopters, and 1 bomber. (Not at once.)

NEW CONSTITUTION FOR THE ALANTANIAN PEOPLE
Early this morning, the 17 City leaders of Alantania finalized the new constitution for Alantania and her people. Alantania will formally be transitioning into a Federal Parliamentary Republic. Seeing as Alantania and her people are in no state to hold formal elections for the government positions, temporary officers shall be put into office till elections can be held. Dashgrinaar and Alantania officials have also been working closely in making a seperate constitution for those in New Hope.
In other news, Alantania will be repealing it's ban on automobiles and be allowing them into it's borders. This comes after the realization that many citizens in Alantania may have survived if they could provide themselves with their own transportation.

Drazieniel of National Defense, Assassinated!

Today, on August 1, 2015, Qacinor Gaal, the Drazieniel on National Defense, has been reported dead after a series of extremely violent protests against the forced conscription of citizens. "We are sorry to announce Mr. Gaal's death, after the series of bloody protests in Shidheb.", announces Flian Gaal, Qacinor Gaal's wife.

The leaders of the protests apologize for Qacinor Gaal's death. "We are truly sorry for the incident", says Galma Roun, one of the leaders of Ralpan Jhaugher, one of the groups against the forced conscription. "The police started beating up some of the protesters, so panic pushed many of us to retaliate", she adds. "They were afraid they [the police] would kill them if they didn't join the army", she finished.

Promise of Peaceful Solutions to Overcrowding, Bright

After weeks of discussion in the Department of Education, Sciences, and Technology and the Department of Infrastructure, led by Sec. Ibian Jhalia, leading Jhaugheriel scientists have found a solution to crowding in the country: zalbions. Zalbions are extremely tall dwellings, made to house the maximum number of people by being built beside the mountains. "These zalbions might not solve the whole issue, but they will definitely help a lot", announces Ibian Jhalia, the Secretary of Education, Sciences, and Technology. "Ironically, these would greatly increase Adashie's population density", he adds, "but the zalbions have an advantage: three dimensions. A moderately spacious area, multiplied by something around 200 to 250, and BAM! That's how big these things are", he adds.

Another solution has been found to the issue of overcrowding, in Shidheb, Vantiar, yet it seems less promising than zalbions. "We'll see if we could pull this off: settlements on the sea", announces Lavoer Siplion, the Secretary of Infrastructure. "Hydroponics would feed the people who would live on the sea; of course, these settlements would be near the coast, as it would be costly to maintain them in deep oceans", he adds. "These might be more costly, but if this is reasonably possible in the near future, we can integrate this plans with some smaller zalbions, and BAM! Even bigger settlements!", he finishes.

"It would still commence, but to a lesser degree than before", says Zaqiar Fen, the newly-appointed Secretary of National Defense. "Now that some peaceful, and cool-sounding solutions have been suggested, the Department of National Defense feels that Nascent Islands isn't the difference between life and death", he adds, "but we might still need it. I don't think those solutions would be implemented early enough to save Jhaugher", he finishes. Conscription has already been finished; acquisition of newer vehicles and equipment is in progress.

New Hope Constitution Finalized
This afternoon New Hope finalized it's constitution with approval from both Alantania and Dashgrinaar. The nation is slowly awaking from the shock of the disasters and is beginning to move yet again. Alantania will still be run by environmentalism but the laws shall be relaxed to encourage foreign investments. The ban on cars that was repealed shall be replaced by a strict standard of only allowing electric and/or Eco-friendly cars into the nation.

Uranium Deposit promises to enrich Abrishian
Today at 11:00 AM, prospecting company Nukes4U has uncovered a large Uranium Deposit in Abrishian's south-west, and a few people had a few disagreements.

"This is a terrific find!" claims Nukes4U CEO Nick Strange. "It will provide an enormous stimulus to our economy and create thousands of new jobs. It's a win-win! All we need from the government is to bulldoze the rain forest that's on top of the deposit."

"You've got to be kidding," says Green politician Dave Hanover. "This rain forest is a thousand years old! This country needs environmental protection, not less. And to destroy the environment for to mine uranium that then goes for nuclear bombs--well, that really sticks in my straw."

"There's no need for an either- or decision," says the government's Minister for Mining, Clear-Felling, and the Environment. "We can persevere most of the rain forest and allow mining of a small part. After all, think of all the good money from this uranium deposit can bring to Abrishian."

Alantanian Refugees Deported

The first ships full of refugees from Alantania departed from Peanuta today bound for New Aapelistan. About 25,000 refugees will be transported to New Aapelistan over the next week. This is roughly a quarter of the 100,000 refugees estimated to have fled to Peanuta following the devistation in Alantania.

The news came as a relief to the citizens of Hypogea where most of the refugees have been camped. The province has been in a state of emergency for nearly a week.

Protesters complained that Chancellor Brown acted irresponsably by sending the refugees to a communist state. "I'm afraid we're just sending these refugees to be abused by a government that will see them only as a labor source," said one activist.

Others are glad to see the departure of refugees Peanuta never asked for. "We are still very overwealmed here," said one hospital worker in Patchtown. "Many Alantanians came with serious health problems, and we just don't have the resources to accomidate them. And the majority of them are still staying here."

Wave of Populist Sentiment Spreads Through Country

After the completion of the military intervention of the Alantanian directory, and the success of the Civitas Algrinaari movement, the idea of political reforms have swept through the country. Verdon's current government does not grant the general population the right to vote, where the countries decisions are decided only by the elite rulers of each Verdonian province and the Grand Consul. The idea of civilian voting rights has been championed by current duke of Vielha, Matheu de Rosselli, a long-standing advocate for increased political freedoms. M. Rosselli pointed out the high risk of corruption of bureaucratic officials due to the low risk of replacement by voting, and has argued the need for popular referendums to assess the true will of Verdon's people.

With the tenth anniversary of Verdon around the corner, also comes the election of a new Grand Consul. Whether or not M. Rosselli's popular appeal is enough to sway the other dukes to appease their citizenry is yet to be seen.
