Prime Minister Gais Condemns PLF Attack on Orsandian Military

Prime Minister Crassus Gais is today condeming what he calls the abhorrent act of communism in the ideological force attempt to take control of Orsandia. In a press brief a few moments ago at the Palatine Manor, the Prime Minister express Covonant's undying support to the legitimate state power of Orsandia and will work in tandem with regional allies to push back communist elements from taking rein.

This is an abhorrent act and an affront to the principles of democracy and should be akin to nothing more than a coup. The Covonantian calls on the PLF to resist their attempts of constant instability of the country's society and we call on the government to resist any forms of unrest inspired by the PLF. Covonant will remain faithful to democracy and will seek to engage an active role in the Gael area that has predominantly endured times of peace. Gael must not become a region accustomed to instability. We will be in dialogue with our allies in Gael notably the Noronicans and Osters. I have ordered our armed forces based in Gael to be on guard in the event Covonant in an act of goodwill, finds it necessary to support and protect the rights of Gael natives and the peace of the sub-region to engage actively to quell this occurrence.

Prime Minister Gais expressed that the country will continue to monitor events occuring in Gael and will maintain active dialogue with Gael allies. The Covonantian Armed Forces in Gael is actively monitoring the crisis taking place in Orsandia.

Malvern Alstaer Prepares for CU Summit

In less than a week Covonant stands to bear host to the Cooperative Union Summit on Finance and Trade. The summit that will see CU leaders converge to discuss matters of importance to the CU wil for the first time be held in Covonant. Foreign Minister Lydia Abbasca expressed that Covonant is prepared to host the summit that will not only see CU leaders, but CU Finance Ministers, Treasury Secretary and Governors of banks and other financial institutions in attendance.

Malvern Alstaer stands as the perfect city to host the CU Summit on Finance and Trade as it is the financial centre of Covonant. The CU has hosted numerous summits before in countries such as Ainslie and Noronica and Covonant will find itself added to list of countries where meaningful discussions will take place for the advancing of CU interest

The Summit is expressed to focus on areas spanning, CU trade, finance, regulations, banking, aid, and talks of a CU monetary currency will likely be raised again. The CBC will be sure to broadcast the event live.

Parties of The House of Commons, an Overview
 
With the provisional government more or less gone, and little more than a short week after elections for the House of Commons, who, despite internal factions have passed a fantastic 2.852 suggestions, for each only requires a simple majority. Turnout for the elections was extremely high.

First is the Socialist Party, with 26 seats out of 100, which is dedicated to abolition of the nobility, monarchy, and property. Despite being roundly condemned by the entire nobility, the socialists are fairly popular, and have the highest number of seats per party. The leader is Jean Armentier.

Second is the Constitution Party, which is dedicated to upholding the current constitution, and it is the primary party for those who hate the Socialist Party. They are lead by James Tordale, and have 23 seats.

Third is the Catholic Democratic Party, which is similar to the Socialist Party in economic and government ideology, but significantly less radical and generally socially conservative, with a caveat, government charity. Part of the turmoil with the party comes from its accidental alignment with many aims of the Protestant Party, to be mentioned later. The party is nominally led by Abbé Maraud, with 21 seats, though it appears to splintering even now.

The Monarchist Party, which favours the expansion of monarchial powers, is also a major contender, and is especially popular in the south. It favours expulsion of legitimists, direct engagement with SHOCK, and the rebuilding of the Ilse’s weak navy. It was also the driving force behind the passage of the law calling for an 80,000 man New Model Army, with a purely meritocratic command structure, which is a historic moment in Ilsan history, as bloodlines have previously determined generalship. The Monarchist Party is led by the King’s third cousin, Albert Faulkner, and has 21 seats.

The last three parties all hold fewer than 4 seats.

The Lortik Legitimist party has but 3 seats, and its head, Lord Jurgen of Landfall has been been missing for several days, and is presumed to be hunting in the hinterlands of the north.

The Protestant Party has 3 members, and a platform nearly identical to the Catholic Democrats.

The Blanchard Legitimist Party has but 2 members, and wishes to re-instate the exiled King Armand II.

The Nobles Party has 1 member, and has only one dedicated issue, re-establishing the prominence and power of the nobility.
 
Education
 
A recommendation has recently passed calling for more education funding with a near unanimous vote in the Commons, and great support in the
House of Lords. The question is primarily one of historical and lingual curriculum, though the teaching of anatomy and evolution are also hotly disputes. Many have proposed that curricula be devised at the provincial level by the Moot Council, or written by local funders of education. With the Ilsan literacy rate being one of the lowest of the Western Isles, the need is obvious, but the method, is less clear.

As the conflict in Orsandia continues to reach headlines around the region, the North Argus Aerospace Administration (NAAA) - the non-profit organisation that maintains and controls the flow of aerial traffic in Northern Argus, advises all air traffic not to fly over Orsandia airspace. Whilst it can't effect a no-fly zone, it reminds aircraft transiting through its airspace via radio.

After announcing yesterday that plastic items, such as stirrers and cups, have caused a frenzied of both online and protest activity in Altera; demonstrators saying it would stifle bio-plastic innovation. The Curia stated that whilst it was "pleased with the discussion", it was "concerned" that activists hadn't "actually bothered to read anything we published", as bio-plastics were exempt from the ban.

Assassins Abolished?

Princess Ariel Corietti posted a controversial tweet stating that assassins, a important cultural institution employing nearly 3% of the total working citizens in Nepenisea, should be arrested. Assassins, backed by the government agency Nepenisea Assassination Agency are despite Ariel's claims, not normally killers.
"We mostly spy, do sabotage, and occasionally kill criminals (and only criminals.)" said Bob Zancof, a very well-known assassin. Despite this, collateral damage may happen - in January one innocent was killed and two wounded in a car driven by a target, after the driver was shot by an assassin. In March last year three people killed by an assassin were later discovered to be innocent. The March assassin, named Robin Thormanu was arrested and is now facing three counts of manslaughter.
Senator Tony Reed is a loud defender of assassins. He spoke before congress a week ago to ask Ariel Corietti to speak about the orsandia civil war. Ms.Corietti still has not spoken on the issue.
"It's mad. She's using assassins as a diversion from the orsandia issue. It's, well, it's just not right." said Reed this morning.

A victory securing 1/3rd of the seats in the House of Representatives has left Athara Magarati Democratic Hangate's militarist Mahang, Ms Jyoti Thapa who is known better as Jrm Hangma, in a position to cement both her authority at home and her influence potentially shifting the balance of power further in the Isles as Athara Magarat rapidly militarizes under her reign.

Jrm Hangma's People's Civic Congress won 50 of the lower parliamentary body's 150 seats in Saturday's election, gaining 1/3rd majority and ensuring it has the number of votes to pass major overhauls and constitutional changes unilaterally. Add to the fact that minor parties such as Dragon Blood and True Path, which won 9 and 8 seats respectively, overwhelmingly support her militarization efforts. Athara Magarati political analysts and senior People's Civic Congress party members said they widely expected their Mahang, who has still 12 years left for her tenure (due to her succeeding terminally ill Paija Hang in a snap election) to make major political overhauls as well as previously unexpected constitutional changes.

Hours after the election results were declared, a People's Civic Congress spokesman said the party within weeks would pass a law imposing to allow Athara Magarati authorities to shoot suspected SHOCK members at sight or detain them without a trial; which was one of the many laws that the previous House of Representatives had stalled - leading in it getting dissolved by Jrm Hangma and the Divan-i-Magarati all of a sudden which further led to fellow Cooperative Union founding member Covonant filing a case against Athara Magarat for unconstitutional consolidation of power. Though Covonantian politicians prided themselves at winning the case and having the House of Representatives reinstated through elections, political analysts in both Covonant and Athara Magarat knew that it was actually Jrm Hangma who gained the strategic victory.

"The previous House of Representatives was the only force in Athara Magarat that resisted her grand political ambitions. Now she has something she didn't have before. A House of Representatives that bends to her will." An Athara Magarati political analyst warned. "And the Covonantians made a great mistake. Why else do you think she pleaded guilty in the court? It was to have people who agree with her get elected through legal means. The CUCJ case further showcased to the Athara Magarati people that there are forces out there always to attack the hangate and its ways either through terror attacks, by intimidation through military power or diplomatically. The San Montagnan Invasion of Athara Magarat changed the mindset of the Armajaist-pacifist Athara Magarati people. They now support the so-called active pacifism espoused by Jrm Hangma."

The opposition bloc Progressive Alliance, which is composed of various socialist and communist parties, and the newly-formed Armajaist Party gathered 41 seats each. The Armajaist Party had recently splintered from the People's Civic Congress; arguing that under Jrm Hangma, it had strayed away from the path shown by Lil Prasad Armaja, the first Mahang of the Athara Magarati Democratic Hangate. As for the socialist-communist bloc of Progressive Alliance, some sources say that their refusal to condemn the alleged Thuzbekistani involvement in the conflict in Orsandia lost them some of the seats. On the other hand, an independent candidate won in her constituency to get elected into the House of Representatives.

Judge's confession reopens 33 year old case

two weeks after being diagnosed cancer and given 10 months to live, 72 year old retired judge Roberto DiFredo made a shocking revelation, the 1985 Murder Trial against mafia boss Marco Senzacuore was fixed. Roberto revealed this morning that Mafia Associates had broken into his house the day before the trial was to begin, and threatened to kill him, his wife and his daughter if he did not clear Senzacuore of all charges during the trial. "At the Time" he said "The Mob was everywhere and ran everything, and nearly still do today, even the Government was full of corruption. I also knew the mobs reputation, from 1975 to 1984, there had been nearly 80 mafia related murders, So I knew that I would have been just a number on that list. I feared for my life, and, well... I... I cleared him of all charges, he was free to run the mob. Sure he said he would kill me if I revealed this, but I am going to die soon anyway, so..." DiFredo has been placed under Police Protection, as the police fear Mob retaliation.

Marco Senzacuore was charged in 1984, with the murder of Emilio Danzano, who was suspected to have had mafia ties, on the night of the 13th of march. A Police investigation came to the conclusion that, Emilio Danzano, had been, for the past few months, transferring mafia funds into his own account, Senzacuore soon found out about this, and planned to kill Emilio as revenge, which occurred when Marco invited Danzano to Dinner at a San luca Restaurant, and after getting him drunk, brought Emilio outside and shot him in the back alley of the building. At the beginning of the investigation, it was unclear what had happened, but witnesses reported seeing the deceased Danzano at the restaurant with Senzacuore a mere 10 minutes before his death. This Revelation made the investigation of upmost importance for the San Luca Police Department, as it would mean, if Marco was convicted and put in jail, nailing a blow to the San montagnan mob. The investigation soon hit a brick wall as no evidence was found linking Marco to the murder of Danzano, the Crime scene was mischievously wiped clean of any evidence including the bullet, which was removed from the corpse before police arrived. It stayed like this for weeks, until a Shell casing was discovered at the scene of the crime in a bush. Police believed the killer, whom they believed was Marco senzacuore, in a rush to escape the scene, could not locate the shell casing and left it there. Police believed they had finally found the evidence, only problem, while their was a fingerprint on the bullet, it was only partial, but it still matched Senzacuore's fingerprints. Still, police believed it was enough, as Senzacuore's mob connection, location at the time of the crime, and his fingerprint on a shellcasing from the murder weapon was enough to put him behind bars. unfortunately, it was not, and he was allowed to go free.

The Now 73 year old Marco Senzacuore, who claimed in 2008 that it was time for him to settle down and retire, had been living in a San Luca Villa for the past 4 years. Police came to his door and put him in police custody this afternoon.

Cavallo appoints new Minister of National Defense

Prime Minister Giorgio Cavallo Announced this Morning that he had appointed a new Defense Minister; Vittorio DiSicilia, This will be San Montagna's thied Defense minister appointed in under 4 years the first being appointed in 2016 after the former Defense Minister's fatal heart attack and the second being appointed in 2017 by former Dictator Benito Franco. Cavallo said: "It is important to work with people with whom you trust to ensure peace in this great country, particularly from the evils of Fascism, terrorism and War, and that is why I have decide to appoint Mr. Vittorio DiSicilia as Defense Minister" DiSicilia announced that he will do whatever it takes to make sure fascism never again terrorizes the nation, and agrees with Cavalllo's proposed plan to do so, which includes a ban on the praising of fascism and harsher gun control.

The Fate of the Fuhrer

After the military coup last month it was revealed that Fuhrer Eisenberg was a war criminal responsible for the death of an innocent woman and her executioner, the euthinization of the mentally disabled and the experimentation on prisoners.
A trial was had to find out the fate of Joseph Eisenberg and his inner circle.
A large crowed of civilians cheered as Eisenberg was found guilty of mass genocide and they cheered louder as the jury sentenced him to death by firing squad.
the rest of the inner circle was found guilty and sentenced to a life long prison scentence.

we did get some words of the president, Wulf Kriegsberg.
"I dont agree, it seems idiotic to put him to death for killing but its not my choice to make, the people have chosen and i will obey the peoples wishes" he said.
We asked what he would have done.
"Me? i would have thrown him in a prison on an abandoned island so he could rot, it would have been max security and we would provide food and drink no showers or hair cuts, but thats just me the people want him dead."

Opinion: Barbarism as a Teutonic Trait
And how this trait manifests itself in the modern day

Once a Nazi, always a Nazi?

The hideous atrocities of World War Two hardly need explanation, their scope is so widely known. Millions of men, women and children killed off in the name of a Teutonic master race, and of a reich that would last forever. This sad event in modern history was but one of many examples of the true nature of the Teutonic people. A history of violence that stretches back to the days of the Roman empire, and one which still continues to this day.

To begin to understand how deeply-rooted war is in the Teuton's mind, one needs to look to where it all started. The Roman empire, a great and civilised nation, torn down by the incessant rages of a people born only for war. Their perverse hunger for blood did not stop here, sadly, and over the next millennia, their warfare set all of Europe alight. Thousands were killed, and for what gain? Teutons began the crusades, killing innocent Muslims in order to sate their wolf-like hunger. Entire nations were consumed, as we say, dans la gueule teutonique.

They were quick to abandon the church as well, turning to the heretical ravings of the treacherous Martin Luther with open arms then proceeding to spread their heresy by force across the lands. France, beautiful, indomitable France, faced the brunt of their attacks like a true daughter of the church. The French people suffered for the sins of the Teutons. Over the next hundreds of years, Teutonic aggression crossed the world to trample wherever it could. They attempted the molestations of that poor damsel of the republic with rapacious glee, fighting all manner of degraded wars.

It was not only Europe that suffered under the wrath of the Teuton. The fair lands of Africa were subjugated violently, with mass ethnic cleansings as the racially minded murderers killed off entire races of natives, cruelly torturing the poor survivors til they too wished to join the ranks of the fallen. Such treatment was not enough to satiate them, however.

It is right, I believe, to consider World War One to be the definitively Teutonic war, and the place where this madness should have ended. The Teutonic despotates of Austria and Germany, bolstered by the secular and teutonised Enver Pasha, waging war on the free world with wanton bloodlust. They unleashed gas onto the women and children of Belgium and France in a manner only the Teuton can. Their mass killings were on a scale, at the time, only matched by their African exploits. When, eventually, the free world won, this should have been the end. A treaty was designed that established a set of fair repercussions onto the Teutonic people, and should have demilitarised them enough. But if a Teuton is the master of war, subterfuge is his next best skill.

We all know the story of World War Two, how the forces of Teutonic aggression brought Europe to its knees. Such a tragedy was soon stopped by the valiant French and British and Americans, and our Negarakitan readers will undoubtedly know the great achievements of our very own Tirailleurs Kepaniens in the fight against fascism, but it was at a cost. The communists, the Teuton's equal in depravity, were granted concessions as well. East Germany was, to me, the best example of a Teutonic state. Its sheer expertise at violence against its people and its spying skill showed this race at its best.

But how does this all fit into the world today? Today we see two states that happily carry the Teutonic mantle, Charbagnia and the Teutonic Savannah. Charbagnia shows the depravity of a Teutonic dictator who has unleashed gasses onto the French citizen's rightful anger for democracy, whilst the Savannans not only killed off the mentally enfeebled in a racial purity campaign but then followed this up with a violent coup that killed several. Even the good side of the Teutonic nation stoops to violence. These events are all shocking. But they are not surprising in the slightest.

UNS Dominion to Officially be Decommissioned: Defense Minister Ignacio

Minister of Defense Crixus Ignacio has announced in the Consul that Covonant will finally decommission its flagship carrier UNS Dominion. The aircraft carrier was decommissioned by the previous administration in 2017 but the move was stalled as the then Defense Minister Batiatus Sula paused the initiative as a result of technical issues. Defense Minister Ignacio expressed that the carrier has left a huge burden on the government's budget. He notes the decommission exercise will not affect adversely Covonant's role in the region.

It is high time we move hastily with the decommissioning exercise. It is too costly for us to maintain and quite frankly not much of an importance particularly for a country that boast the most military bases regionally. We can't speak about fiscal responsibility and fiscal spending when we waste our crowns on a equipment that though useful not much of an aid. In fact it is appalling that it has taken us over a year to complete this. We are a government committed to fiscal responsibility and we won't dilly-dally around the issue. My Ministry will see this exercise complete on the 1st of May 2018

Opposition Spokesman of Defense Batiatus Sula welcomed the move but lambasted the government for portraying the previous administration as reckless.

While we welcome this move by the government and agree that it was overdue, we are appalled that the government will try to portray the previous administration under which I served as Defense Minister to say we were negligen and fiscally irresponsible. I shall remind the Consul that it was this government that opposed our decision for decommission and now tries to acclaim political points for it. We tried to have it decommissioned but technical issues within the Ministry and the Naval headquarter saw the process to become slowed almost paused. The government is trying to operate on a PR approach to the public pressures of our increased military bases around the region. Is it something to brag about Minister that we have the largest number of bases regionally and we continue to see that number increase. How many Covonantians are deployed overseas and how does that benefit the Union. The Minister should not reduce his government to childish political chides but be honest in their delivering of military and government policies.

The last time the UNS Dominion was in service was last year November during the C6-San Montagnan conflict.

Covonant to Re-Assess Relations with Foreign States and Foreign Institutions

Minister of Foreign Affairs Lydia Abbasca in her sectoral debate in the Consul this morning, expressed the government's intention to reassess its relations with foreign states and foreign institutions. In her debate to the House she noted that Covonant has been operating on a foreign policy that has seen little gains to the country. She notes that with changes in the region concerning the international system, relations will have to be assessed and if necessary change.

Our foreign policy has seen little to no change in the past 60 years. In the 21st century, Covonant can't afford to continue on that trajectory. Our relations with our traditional partners and allies must and will be strengthened but we have to engage other states, and there are some states that we have to be weary of and somewhat hard on to comply to the ideals and values we hold dear. We have to make a bold statement to enhance the international system if we intend to foster regional peace and the regional spread of democratic ideals.

Minister Abbasca expressed that Covonant should look to have more an active presence in regional forums and institutions and boldly leave her mark. She notes that such policy change is occurring and will be integrated fully in due.

We have to constantly remain active and vigilant. We have to make it upon ourselves necessary to get involved in all spheres of regionalism. We can't embark on a policy of regional peace and not take into account that our presence and interaction can contribute to such peace. Our foreign policy must be one of engagement but also one of accountability. We must hold states accountable in order for this system which major regional powers have invested time, capital and lives in creating and defending. This world order must stand and Covonant must make it her responsibility to hold that torch. We must become more interactive in regional institutions and hold those institutions accountable as well

Mrs. Abbasca expressed that her presentation is not to be interpreted as Covonantian interventionism or exceptionalism but rather Covonantian will to cooperate and collaborate.

We can't persist on a policy that is mired in Covonantian exceptionalism. Such behaviours will see states find hatred and envy in us. We must embark on a different approach one that sees not only Covonant win in the long run but the region as a whole.

Many have argued her presentation contradicts with the views of Prime Minister Gais on his call to contain non-democratic elements. Political Commentator Mikael Stokes expressed her presentation stands as ironic but still eschews elements of Covonantianism.

Her presentation lacked clarity as to how different such approach will be. In an era of technology where people and states can identify the ills of our ways over the decades. Does Covonant have that moral compass to light the path of regionalism and collaboration where the PM believes that non-democratic states should be isolated. This turn of policy will still see Covonant embark on interest serving strategies and policies. And if one looks deeper they would see a tone of Covonantianism and exceptionalism evoked. We shall lead the path, we shall hold states accountable. Why we? What have we done to show that we are morally capable to undertake that venture.

Hundreds dead in Helmvir landslide

At least 300 people are confirmed dead as massive land and mudslides hit Jorvvik's rocky northern border town of Helmvir, during the early hours of Wednesday morning and hundreds of people are still missing.

The disaster is Jorvviks’s worst in 50 years, the cause of the landslide is as yet unknown, but it may be the result of tunnelling work close to the border with Dormill and Situra as the country looks to extend it's rail network. The country’s president has appealed for international help.

A national emergency was declared shortly after the early hours of Wednesday morning, with rescue workers and military home guard units are at the scene in relief and rescue efforts.

“And in the worst case there was a landslide which took away a whole section of the hill that sits above the border crossing, just taking homes and families with it as well. So there have just been hundreds of bodies coming out of the dirt. We are trying to find any missing people and anyone in need of help and to look after, particularly the children who could be extremely vulnerable, xontamination is also an issue we need to worry about. I have authorised the deployment of our military to safeguard our people and help in the rescue efforts currently underway.” said Jorvvik President Lars Nordstrom, who is rushing back to the country from a diplomatic visit.

The eventual death toll is being forecast at least 500 but that figure is changing almost by the hour. The country is in shock and despair as news of the disaster filters through the country.


Mass flooding and mud still remain in the area as rescue efforts are underway.

The outbreak of war in the Urching Autonomous Region of Orsandia has heightened to new levels of carnage.

Following the surprise fall of Lahpso Taha and the advance toward the port metropolis of Lihai by the Communist Peoples Liberation Force, the Orsandian Government has begun nonstop airstrikes all across the region, joined by supporting aircraft from Ostehaar and Dormill and Stiura. Prime Minister Williamson had previously signed an executive order this week that allowed friendly military personnel access to Orsandian military instillations in order to fight back against the quickly moving PLF tide.

"Our nation now stands at a crossroads." spoke Williamson in a press conference. "Now that this war is ongoing, we owe it to the Orsandian citizens to eradicate the Communist menace from Orsandia and Gael once and for all to ensure a return to peace and safety."

Orsandian aircraft, from the Lihai Naval Air Base and Salsington Air Force Base, struck areas in Lahpso Taha and on the outskirts of Lihai, targeting PLF positions, and hoping to curb the PLF from making it into Lihai, which is currently under a state of mandatory evacuation. Unofficial reports suggest that numerous casualties have resulted from these strikes.

Pressed on by protestors outside of the Parliament, Social Democrat MP Ming Taozhen, screamed "It wasn't us ! We don't support these actions. It was those [expletive] in Keverai's fault for leaking all of that damning info. The leaker should be hung from a noose."

Similar sentiments have been expressed by media figures such as conspiracy theorist, Alexander Wen, host of the talk show MindClash, unleashed a tirade directed at the Thuzbekistani and Samuderan governments, accusing them of being "Marxist agents sent by the devil himself" to "Corrupt and destroy" Orsandia for its adherence to liberty and free market capitalism. Wen went on to accuse the Thuzbek government of acting on behalf of the "globalist elite" in the Isles of destablizing Orsandia as a gateway to attempt to "destroy Gael". Many pundits have condemned Wen's statements.

All emergency warnings are still in effect. In trying times such as these, we pray that the violence ends and that the loss of life doesn't rise to insurmountable levels akin to the 1st Civil War.

Athara Magarat to establish "legal ties" with Lortika: Jrm Hangma

The government of Athara Magarat announced on Thursday that it would establish legal links with neighboring Belle Isle en Terre's disgruntled ethnic minority Lortiks as a "legal state", a move that political analysts warn will create further tensions in South Mesder.

In an instruction released by the Athara Magarati Democratic Hangate's foreign ministry, Jrm Hangma reportedly ordered her government to recognize some documents issued by the Lortik separatists and cooperate with them on trade.

"The main motivating factor for all our actions in this field is care for the interests of the people of Lortika." The foreign ministry said in a statement. The Lortiks are one of the major ethnic groups in Athara Magarat and have a majority population in the Central Hangate, one of the 18 constituent city-states of the island nation.

Following the April 6th massacre in Fosseury Hall, some leaders Lortik Legitmist Party have fled to and been given political asylum in Athara Magarat, in particularly the cities and towns of the Lortik-majority Central Hangate where they received warm welcome as "cousins".

On 25th April, Legitmist leaders addressed the Divan-i-Magarati, the upper house of the Athara Magarati parliament for their recognition. They also requested the Athara Magarati government to denounce the April 6th massacre.

"The massacre is against all the norms of international law and the Ilse will do whatever it can do to suppress us diplomatically and politically and deny that it ever took place." A Legitimist leader told the Libang Herald and a dozen other news networks. "The Ilsan government announced all of a sudden in April 14th to have the Royal Palace in Fosseury cleaned and renovated. This is their attempt to hide the evidence of the massacre. And the parliament there has passed the Lortik Assimilation Act. The Ilsans are the aggressors and we are just a stateless people seeking our recognition."

Jrm Hangma's order however made no mention of recognizing Lortika's independence. Diplomats say that New Libang favors a two-state peace resolution to diffuse the tense situation from escalation.

Jrm Hangma did though instruct her government to move towards much closer ties with "Lortika" and has issued Athara Magarati passports for the Legitimist leaders given political asylum in her country. Lortik separatist leaders welcomed Jrm Hangma's order as a "positive step" towards independence for Lortika.

Following heated discussions in the League, Eadwine Ridderkerk has declared war on the Ilse, and announced the foundation of Lortika, a state comprising of Ostpaek in the north east and fringes of the mainland itself. The declaration was immediately followed by inconclusive border skirmishes, with few casualties. The House of Commons begrudgingly suggested war, a measure overwhelmingly approved by the House of Lords, and narrowly passed by the Peers. The Director of War has appointed the Duke of Surrey to command the First Corps and clear out all Lortiks from the mainland. Ostpaek has also been also been declared under blockade, with two Valeshia class frigates attacking all outgoing, Lortik commerce. Furthermore, the Ilsan government has taken credit for sinking a Magarati missile boat that was presumably headed to aid the Lortik cause. The Director of War has announced a naval strike against a Magarati missile boat with undisclosed Ilsan units being involved. The boat was sunk, but the Ilse has not revealed which ship sank the missile boat.

Of the eight Peers elected, three, all socialists, refused to be ennobled, citing the equality of man and oppression of the proletariat as the source of their rejection. After long argument, one of the socialists demurred and joined the other five Peers in receiving titles. The King is displeased with the blatant violation of the constitution, and many critics have pointed out that the Peers could simply ignore their title and form communes with the lands they would receive from ennoblement. The refusal has led to a decline in popularity with the socialists, who now face accusations of receiving monetary aid from Thuzbekistan. While these accusations are true, the circumstance was not foreseen by the constitution, and thus foreign campaign donations, even from foreign governments remain legal. The House of Commons, albeit with stiff resistance, is attempting to pass a law that will prevent that in the future.

A military source in New Libang told reporters on Friday that the Ilsan newspaper Le Île's reports of an Athara Magarati missile boat being sunk were true. An unidentified Ilsan ships reportedly fired a guided anti-ship missile at the First Central Argus War approximately 150 kilometers away from Athara Magarati waters. The source claimed that the Athara Magarati ship was searching for refugee boats and to guide them to safe shores, unlike the Le Île's reports to aid the rebel Lortiks in lifting the Ilsan blockade on the Lortik separatist Ostpaek stronghold.

Like all Naga-class missile boats, the First Central Argus War had 26 crew onboard at the time. The attack comes hours after Jrm Hangma announced Athara Magarat would establish "legal ties" with Lortika. It is uncertain what will happen next but Athara Magarati government sources state that they would seek apology from the Ilsan side than become war-hawks over this incident.

Rations to Decrease
In a devastating storage mishap, thousands of tons of stored produce are no longer viable for human consumption. Following the drought and fires of years prior, Xrevaro’s crop output has fallen well below domestic and international needs. In September of 2017 an official rationing program was put in place to ensure that all people had their basic nutritional needs met.
Tons of produce were prepared and stored in refrigerated buildings across the nation to provide for local communities. A systematic failure in the refrigeration of multiple compartments has led to the spoiling of 15% of the stored crops.
Already a 5% cut in rations to the average family is expected, but as the event unfolds the percentage may rise. The Royal Palace has no comment to offer except the the issue was being investigated.

Worst shooting in Mandeka in decades; shots fired in Haylem, Williamsburg

Haylem, a notoriously poor and crime-ridden neighborhood in Williamsburg, has just had a mass shooting, the worst in Mandeka in decades.

Locals started phoning 113 to report gunshots at 4:10am on Sunday morning. Witnesses also said that the shots came from two people who jumped out of a car, shot their victims, jumped back into the car and sped away. This all happened on 7th Avenue. Since the shooting only just happened, we can’t say for certain how many people were killed and injured, at the moment 4 people have been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and 2 people were pronounced dead when the paramedics came.

It is thought the shooting was gang related, as all the victims albeit one were dressed in green clothing, the colour of the Crio gang. The shooters were dressed in blue clothing, the colour of the Killaz gang.

One bystander, a Pure African woman, who was identified as Patricia Johnson, was caught up in the shooting. She has no known gang affiliation. She saw the guns of the shooters, and attempted to disarm them, successfully disarming one and throwing the gun to the side, but unable to disarm the other, who shot her in the stomach. She has been hospitalized. Many are hailing her as a heroine, as she bought time for victims and bystanders to run away.

As pacifist as Mandeka is, there will definitely be a huge uproar in reaction to the shooting, and a huge crackdown on gangs.

Well done to Patricia Johnson, the heroine of this situation. Because of her distracting the gunmen I was able to run away and phone 113. We need more people like her in Haylem.

WEINAM TO MONITOR LORTIKA SITUATION.

Weinam is to closely monitor the situation in the South Merder Sea as tensions escalate between Athara Magarat and Belle Ilse en Terre. Weinam has expressed anger over the sinking of a naval ship as war was declared between the two nations. Weinam has offered to meet with representatives from both nations in a bid to cool hostilities and resolve this situation but so far there have been no confirmed talks. Coincidentally, the Weinamese Navy began flexing it's muscles as it conducted live fire exercises within it's territorial waters. Weinam's aircraft carrier joined a sixteen strong ship fleet as training was undertaken in what is thought to last the next few days. The navy exercises are not related to the South Merser Sea crisis but Weinam officials stated that it's navy is to be kept on it's toes with rising regional tensions. It's unclear how the crisis will pan out, but Weinam will keep vigilance as the next few days unfold.

'Sun, sea and love: People in south of Merhion 'happier' than rest of country

It's official: People living in the southern region of CDB, short for côte de beauté, are happier than people living in the rest of Merhion, according to the results of a new survey.

The study, conducted by Merhion pollsters Hugry Nehbour and published in the Laquicend magazine revealed that 87 percent of people in CDB are "quite" or "very" happy to be living there. That's 22 points above the general weighted sentiments of people in the rest of Merhion.

And while the sunny weather is no doubt a contributing factor, Lionel Kinsley, Editor-in-Chief of Laquicend was keen to point out that "it's not only that".

"The survey shows that in CDB the population is more satisfied than the rest of the Merhionian with the number of shops, proximity to services, access to public transport and healthcare," he told the Merry Front.

But it wasn't all good news for the region.

While the study revealed that the region's inhabitants are 79 percent "mostly satisfied" with the number of shops and local services, health services (75 percent), cinemas and museums (71 percent) and the air they breathe (64 percent), it also highlighted some of its problem areas.

For example, 67 percent of those surveyed blasted the high cost of housing, 57 percent complained about traffic conditions, and 69 percent said that employment was an issue.

To improve "the level of well-being", 90 percent of people said they would need a "better income" and 81 percent would like more free time and a cleaner sea would also be necessary.

The survey was carried out by telephone, from April 7th to 9th and covered a sample of 1,006 people aged 18 and over.

After a renewed offensive on Saturday, the First Division First Corps of the New Model Army has cleared Bellemon of the enemy. Despite intense pockets of resistance, the Army was able to clear out most of the Lortiks with little trouble. Indeed there were many reports of berserker charges by small companies of knights and militia. The Lortiks also had no air support and little in the way of artillery and armour, most of which they are saving for the main Ilsan assault. Insurgency has also been fairly docile, as most resisting villages were treated to the old mediaeval tradition, mercy was offered once, and if refused, no quarter was given. Unfortunately the Lortik enclaves preferred not to humble their pride.

After several months of intense play testing, Ironsides Gaming has released Bonds and Brokers, a matérialist game of wealths and acquisitions. There are three types of wealth: currency, of which there are several types with fluctuating value, property, stocks, the most unstable, bonds, fairly stable, and bank accounts, which store money and give a bit in interest, but may be ruined by players or events. Each player starts out with 100.000 livres, but can easily invest in the three other currencies, f which some are more stable or valuable. Currencies can always be exchanged as one of two actions per turn, as well as buying cards. Every players has five cards in their hands from the action deck. This deck contains properties, stocks, and bonds that players may buy, as well as cards to hurt other players, like bribes, inside trading, theft, support rebels, buy bank, and many more. These cards allow a player to directly damage another players finances. With random events every hand, including devaluation of property, currency, bonds, stocks, and banks, it is necessary to invest carefully. Each devaluation has four grades, 1-4, which increase successively in intensity, with 4 being the highest. When the sum of the devaluations exceeds five, the game is over. Whoever has the highest value wins.

WEINAM WARNS ILSAN NOT TO POKE 'HORNETS NEST'.

Weinam has officially warned Belle Ilse en Terre not to poke a 'Hornets Nest' over the conflict in the South Merder Sea. Weinam has been monitoring the ongoing conflict between Athara Magarat and Belle Ilse en Terre as war was declared between the two nations. Plans for talks with the nations were ignored and now Weinam is considering it's options as it gave it's official backing to the Lortiks. Weinam President, Zhihao Yu gave a statement this morning at a press conference.

"People living in glass nations should not throw stones. Weinam has been watching from the sidelines and has become concerned about the treatment of the Lortiks. Ilsan should cease all actions of hostility and not poke a hornets nest. Weinam will no longer sit by and watch and will consider it's options over the coming hours".

Options considered by Weinam are unknown, but could include limited military intervention, supplies to the Lortiks in the form of weapons and equipment, or a full evacuation of Lortiks. Weinam are unlikely to consider a full scale military action against the Ilsan, but there has been an increase in Weinamese military movement over the past few days as ships and planes began large scale exercises in the Nova sea. There has also been mentions of Weinam's powerful submarines and strategic bombers which could play a key role in any potential future action Weinam takes.

Fates of Samuderans in Orsandia

LIHAI, Kabar Sahari - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued travel ban to Orsandia following the break of communist insurgency in Urching Autonomous Region, western Orsandia. The statement were issued immediately after news came about the ‘war’, which has reached the outskirts of Lihai. Previously, the travel ban was only issued for Yangkong and its immediate area.

This was done to protect Samuderan citizens from the violence that is still brewing up in Orsandia, Foreign Minister Cahyadi Kunakara stated.

Currently, there are an estimated 3,000 Samuderan citizens residing in Lihai, with an additional 78 individuals elsewhere in Urching Autonomous Region. The number has gone down from approximately 5,000 individuals in Lihai last January.

Evacuation efforts have been proposed by many, but so far the government has shown no indication of doing so. They have only issued notices to Samuderans in Orsandia to leave the nation, without providing a mean to do so. Agreements with neighbouring countries, however, is still going to resolve some Samuderans that took shelters in their territory, especially Aruia and Ainslie. There are rumours that the government will take a part in the ongoing evacuations in Lihai with other countries as the discussion progressed. Ainslie has also announced its intention to temporarily revoke the Morrisett Agreement with Orsandia in light of the recent events, in parallel with Samuderan statement today.

Humanitarian aid will be the major focus soon, with cooperation from other countries, the Foreign Minister said yesterday. Samudera’s position is neutral in this ‘disheartening’ situation, but it will fully support and respect a nation’s sovereignty over its territory.

Surprisingly, trade with Orsandia only took a slight hit in terms of trade volume, although the economic activity in Lihai has almost stopped entirely, with the Port of Lihai only opened for evacuation efforts. Ships that used to dock in Lihai are now diverted to Salsington, or Yangkong.

Many could only hope for the best with all the chaos in Orsandia, including Samudera as one of her neighbours.
