Palatine Manor host National Health Day

Image

The Prime Minister's residence for the first time has made the Palatine Manor grounds accessible for the public as it hosted its first National Health Day activities on the South and East lawns. The activities initiated by First Lady Julia Marl saw over 300 Covonantians partake in cycling, running and other outdoor activities on the Palatine Manor grounds. Mrs. Marl expressed that it is her wish to see Covonantians live a healthy lifestyle and her focus has primarily been on health.

I believe as a country we need to practice healthy living, healthy diet, and proper exercising. This day of activities is really a way for me to get that practice started and it is one I believe that I will be taking across the country to get not only our kids excited for living healthy but the parents as well, as it's no secret that if the parents are doing it, the kids will want to do it too.

Image

Mrs. Marl noted that it is not the first she has put on sporting events at the Palatine Manor but it is the first one so large as been put on and gained much support and sponsorship.

The beauty of the Manor is that there is plenty of land space for kids and adults to exercise and get in shape. In fact since becoming resident of the Palatine Manor, I have made it a priority to host sporting events though on a smaller scale. But for this year I wanted to see a much larger event displayed with more people getting involved. The boys have also gotten in on the activities so its a day of not only healthy living and exercise but a day of fun as well.

The National Health Day programme at the Palatine Manor has seen support and sponsorship from the Health Ministry and Covonantian companies.

Opposition Leader reacts to Rooenan decision to aid Ventlimer

Image

Leader of the Opposition Crassus Gais on a campaign trail where he pledge his support for CPC nominee for the constituency of Hacket in Marlonicis expressed that Covonant is becoming weak in the eyes of its enemies. He made the declaration following the announcement of Rooenan move of providing aid to Ventlimer.

How weak have Covonant become that Communist states are bold enough to report that they will be giving aid to a neighbour of Covonant not only that but to even think of carrying out activities in an area where Covonant should have some influence. It is madness that while our Prime Minister is travelling the Isles kissing up to foreign nations and institutions, Communist states are moving closer to our sphere of influence.

Opposition Leader Gais criticised the government, where he expressed that they have become lost in their mandate and have failed to spread democracy to communist states.

Our government have failed in everyway to promote Covonantian ideals and principles and have instead been lost in a mandate that have made Covonant a weak international player. The government should make a move to promote Covonantian principles in every non democratic state or we will forever have enemies to contend with

He expressed that once elected Prime Minister his first mandate will be to declare communism a enemy of Covonant and will move to see it eradicated from the isles.

Covonant needs a strong leader that will make the position clear that Communism is a bad for Covonant's interest and the interest of our allies. I will make sure that my first order as Prime Minister will be to declare all communist states enemies of Covonant and I will ensure Covonantian allies do the same. Failure to commit will result in them being enemies of Covonant failing to join the cause.

The Opposition Leader has taken issue with Rooenan plans to aid Ventlimer calling the move provocative and imploring the government of Covonant to ensure it does not happen.

Rooenan must know its place, never to charter into Covonant's backyard. I for one would never allow it. The government must ensure it does not happen to show the Covonantian people that they are not blind to the tricks the commies will play. I am not blind to their ways. Wherever they go they bring their outdated ideologies that results in autocratic regimes and death. I propose to the government if the Ventlimians so much as accept any aid apart from aid coming from Covonant or Covonantian approved countries or agencies they should be sanctioned indefinitely. That will show them that Covonant should not be bluffed.

Many in Coventry have raised eyebrows at the comments expressed by the Opposition Leader. CBC political analyst Mikael Stokes have called Mr. Gais remarks as frightening.

It is frightening to listen to a person who could become the Prime Minister speak like this. It shows the type of leader he would be and quite frankly it shows a level of ignorance to how the international system operates. It is chilling to imagine Covonant as a bully so to speak and Mr. Gais is a bully in every respect. I find it a bit troubling as well that many Covonantians seems to agree with his rhetoric. He is doing well in the polls and he is expected to win his seat. What would be troubling is if his party wins on the 3rd of July.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Tilonius Vesa is urging the Opposition Leader to be quiet. He notes that his views are raising concerns for Covonantian allies.

I am getting tired of Mr. Gais. His views does not represent Covonant. I would be ashamed to have this man as leader of my country. What he is suggesting is having Covonant engage in a war with Communist states. It really discredits our hopes and goals of having a peaceful and stable region. And it is foolish for Mr. Gais to tell the Ventlimians a sovereign state that they can't accept aid from another country. Who are we to tell them that. Who are we to tell them only accept aid from us and those WE like. That is absurd and shameful. I implore Covonantians to make the right choice this election seasons as it may change the world we live in.

Minister Vesa notes that Covonant will provide assistance to Ventlimer when called upon and welcomes other state in providing financial assistance. He expressed however that Covonant will monitor their actions to ensure there is no underline motive behind the provision of aid.

Do remember this is the CBC.

Secretary of State Blasts Gias for Comments

Secretary of State Vutna Crusso addressed Mr. Gais again today, blasting him for comments he made late in the week.

"Mr. Gias is a truly reprehensible person," he said for VPB. "Threatening to put sanctions on a nation because it accepted aid in a time of crisis is not only bad diplomacy, it is inhuman and a mark of bullish behavior. If this man is elected Prime Minister of Covonant, I should hope that he surrounds himself with good company as he is probably the one man in all of Xovenat who would lead his nation to war. He does not understand regional, national, or even city level politics. If that man belongs anywhere near the Prime Minister's office, it would be cleaning his restroom. I fear what will become of Covonant should he trick many with his fear mongering."

The uncharacteristic outburst from Crusso came after Gias, the leader of the opposition in Covonant, said he would declare all communist nations enemies of covonant and that only Covonant approved aid or activities could take place in other sovereign nations, even going so far as to say he would force Covonation allies to participate.

While the comments drew criticism from withing Covonant, Gias seems to have a secure base following that will not be deterred by his his shortsighted and ignorant statements one political science professor at the University of Ventlar said today.

"It will be interesting to see where, once these elections are over, our two nations stand. On one hand, you have the most stable nation in the Mesder looking at the possibility of a tumultuous election while Ventlimer looks outward for examples of nations who climbed out of similar situations as them. Both the Ventlimian election on June 15th and the Covish election on July 3rd will rock regional politics to its core as the consequences of intertwined economies and politics become more obvious."

Meanwhile, the election in Ventlimer has entered its final days with Opposition Leader Bulnir Aslat gaining in polls taken not only of Taurotians, but of minorities as well. President Katirni has also been falling in polls taken by a conglomerate of independent news sources.

"The Gap is closing!" Aslat said at a rally in the lowlands yesterday. "Soon, the people will finally have a voice outside of a corrupt administration and useless congress."

Aslat also went on to thank the Rooenan Central Congress for their aid.

"In a time of crisis, it is good to be reminded that even the most distant of lands can be gracious and compassionate. As the only nation to offer or send aid, the shipment of steel received this morning marks what could be the beginning of relations that could lead to great, red horizons for our nation."

This has been VPB.

May 20, 2017

New Aapelistan's Aleksei Nijakov concluded his two day state visit to Velah today, with a joint press conference with Comrade Lev Verdiyev, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Velahi Workers' Party. The visit, which has been said by both parties as a huge success, was the first high level meeting between Velahi and Aapelistan leaders in years, and the first meeting between Comrades Verdiyev and Nijakov, the leader of New Aapelistan.

The warming of relations follow the elevation of Comrade Verdiyev to the top leadership post of the People's Democratic Republic, taking the helm from the beloved departed Comrade Brandon Snow. Comrade Verdiyev has stated that he wanted to pursue closer relations with their northern neighbor, considering it "instrumental in ensuring peace in the Kavju region".

On the second day, May 20, Nijakov became the first New Aapelistan leader to address the Velahi People's Congress, where he spoke about the need to continue the communist revolution and the importance of solidarity between all socialist and communist nations in the region. He was also given an honorary degree by the Victor Caligan University and spent 30 minutes inspecting the VPANS Vichit with General Kabul Khodiev, Vice Chairman of the National Defense Commission.

The Pelangi Project succeed to bring colours to the countryside

Image

One of the colourful 'Kampung Warna' (Colourful Village) off the Muntok city

The slump and suburb place of a small city. Maybe you will expect an unorganized and lame collection of the so called houses. You are wrong. The government-sponsored 'Proyek Pelangi' (Rainbow Project) will saw the estabilishment of the colourful little vilage. Intended to turn back common perception that living in suburb won't cheer you at all, this little project became viral on the Instametre (pict-sharing social media). Apparently, the 300 thousands Stelles budget from the government to transform the village results—which include heart-motif murals, multicolor flags, polka-dot panels, and 3-D textured reliefs—have been a resounding success, as visitors from near and far make pilgrimages to the candy-color wonderland to snap photos for Instametre. The development of Kampung Warna is helping the local economy as residents are selling food and souvenirs to the increasing numbers of visitors visiting the area. It is becoming particularly popular with photo enthusiasts, which is unsurprising given the sheer number of opportunities it presents for stunning images. It’s also a social victory, as Kampung Warna was considered to be a slum in its former life, but now it is clean, attractive and vibrant. Mayor of Semarang, Hendrar Prihadi, helped with the painting himself, and it is hoped to ultimately extend the colourful theme to a total of 390 houses. The transformation was seen as an important social project, as it is encouraging citizens’ involvement in improving and beautifying their surroundings. It is expected that the overall budget will ultimately reach 3 millions Stelles as other activities need to be carried out in the area, including clearing and cleaning the local river.

NHS and Quorum Mandate Burning of Bodies to Prevent Further Infection

Parven Crematorium in Schalkenmund has been designated a healthcare center and given government contract to deal with the bodies of Ticking Flu victims in Schalkenmund

PURTH-GRAJE, ATNA PREFECTURE, ATNAIA - As death tolls associated with the Ticking Flu continue to mount, the Quorum has mandated cremations for the victims of the disease. Bodies not selected for study will be burned at government selected facilities nationwide to prevent possible infection from contact with infected corpses.

"This move did not come easily to us," said Lady Jessica Lostwith of the Quorum. "We understand that the mandated cremations may interfere with religious or personal choices made by the infected individuals and their families, but the personal freedoms of the individual sometimes need to be subjugated to the public interest and well-being of the nation as a whole. Know that the victims of the Ticking Flu and their families have the deepest condolences of everyone in the Quorum and that our hearts and minds are with them."

Health advocacy groups have taken to calling for even greater quarantine procedures, with some asking for a State of Emergency to be called in Schalkenmund and total quarantine of the city. However, NHS representatives say such a move would actually be more detrimental than helpful at this stage.

"Such a quarantine measure would almost certainly invoke a mass exodus of healthy individuals from the city," said Dr. Rhys Matis. "Since the disease has a confirmed asymptomatic stage, and with recent revelations regarding a possible percentage of the population who may be entirely asymptomatic, this sort of exodus to nearby communities may actually increase overall national infectivity rates."

"The horse is out of the barn," said a different representative, who chose to remain anonymous. "Confirmed cases of the Ticking Flu are apparent nationwide. Schalkenmund may be ground zero, but cutting the city off would do nothing to cut off spread of the disease at this point. Efforts should instead be focused on nationwide detection, prevention and research."

Mandatory cremations have raised ire from Merritian Orthodox Balnian groups, who recognize a mandatory bereavement period before any interment. The Hasprach of Merrit spoke before an assemblage in Merrit City this morning on the issue.

"Mandatory cremations are an attack on the religious identity of thousands, Merritians and Atnaians alike," he said. "If the government seeks the advancement of the Atish identity, they cannot allow for this."

To aid in collection of bodies, military forces have been heightened in Schalkenmund, Kalghvisser and Ambress. A reminder to report all suspicious activities and possible Ticking Flu cases to your local Stone Wall-Bastion tipline.

May 20, 2017 | Fortaleza, Dragão do Mar

Dragão do Mar Outlawted the Caging of Birds

The Senate of Dragão do Mar, in Fortaleza, voted today that birds have right to live with dignity out of cages, flying freely.

Larel parrots rescued by the NGO Save the Cocó

Yesterday, many parrots of the larel specie were rescued from a man called Luis Augusto, that said he was the tutor of the birds, but, it was proved that he was a leader of the traffic of exotic animals in Dragão do Mar, and was arrested. The larel parrots were in terrible conditions, numerous birds were put in a few cages, some were found with injuries or had loss a part of its feathers. The NGO Save the Cocó is now taking care of them in Messejana.

The author of the law project, the senator Mrs. Maria do Rosário of the Green Party (PV), affirmed that the maintaining of birds in cages is a violation of their rights, and to allow their enclosure is to incentive the practice of exotic birds traffic, which is the cause of most of the conservation problems among bird species of the Cocó forest.

"The voting we are performing here have in hands the position of our country in front of the issue of the extinction of bird species, and with an approval we can support not only the conservation of the birds, but we'll show our commitment to the preservation of mammals, reptiles and fishes in the territory of Dragão do Mar, and mainly in the Cocó forest. I know that all the birds have the fundamental right to fly freely in the skies, and no human beings have the permission to prohibit it putting them in cages, being it with commercial objectives or any other"

Senator Mrs. Maria do Rosário

| THĖDA PALACE PRESS ROOM, EAST WING 8:30 AM | Following the Death Xerexhēna (King) His Celestial Grace Virūsi Sāhvīīshār III, an emergency session of the Trien Council was called by the Xerexōn (Chief) of the Council minutes following the death of the Xerexhēna at 3:00 AM last night. The Trien Council, with the College of the Minīmexos (Governors) have confirmed Her Celestial Grace, Xerexhēni Amidala I, as his heir and as the new Xerexhēni (High Queen) of the Commonwealth. The new Xerehēni is known to be a tact politician, participating within the Mantle Council almost eight times in the past two years. Her Celestial Grace will be inaugurated within the week, and will be tasked with the selection of a new administration. The Chief of the Trien Council, Visenyx Veijīīn, has already pushed for the preselection of the 12 Minīmexos (Governors) and the 10 Xerexōi (Ministers) to charge the Mantle Council. The Mantle Council (charged with being both a Cabinet and the organ of Royal Legitimacy) has been disolved upon request of Mr. Veijīīn. |

| With the disolution of the Mantle Council and temporary Vacant Throne (Sédē Vecánté) the Xerexōn of the Trien Council has, undemocratically, removed autonomies from the minority provinces of Akeslæa, Khās, Amalia, Ouś (all Vpœditi) Keremaiya, and Sūl (Šaįhizi) - sparking small scale rebellions. The Xerexhēni Amidala I has commented on Mr. Veijīīn's political moves, and has deemed them as both dangerous and destabilizing to the nation. The powers of the Mantle Council, as of an hour ago, by vote of the Trien Council have gone to Mr. Veijīīn. These moves by the Chief of the Trien Council have shocked the nation, and have gained a serious division within the 12 Provinces. The College of the Minīmexos (Assembly of the 12 Governors) have officially moved to support the Trien Council - with many of the Minīmexon calling for the end of the Monarchy. The Trien Council and College have officially granted emergency powers to the Chief of the Trien Council after more small scale rebellions erupted in 6 of the 12 provinces. The Royal Foundation officially condemned this immediate transfer of power as an assault against stability and the Monarchy. |

| Following 4 hours after the death of the former HCG Virusi I, Mr. Veijīīn officially declared Martial Law in Ecumeneia, and has moved to assume the position of Chief of the Armed Forces. The Xerexhēni Amidala I reportedly moved the Royal Emergency Foundation to Akselæa, one of the six states in rebellion in preparation, for a possible assault on herself - by the Temporary Government. The Military has officially sealed the borders and the Trien Council in a vote of 185 to 70, issued a warrant for the detainment (not arrest) of the Monarch, with the Trien Council's committees in agreement that the Monarch has possibly lost the Mantle to the Ethereal Throne. Protests have erupted throughout the Ecumenian Commonwealth, with a series of Monarchist Institutions relocating themselves to Akselæa's capital, Almalityçah/ |

Peace Talks Fail, Rooenan to Evacuate Refugees

The talks with San Jimenez have failed to find a solution to the tension between the two nations. "The San Jimenez Delegation refused to cooperate. They acted like blood thirsty dogs towards the SLSJ." said Jengo Giffard, visibly distraught at the results of the talks. The Central Congress was swift to categorize the SLSJ as refugees and vowed to send planes for evacuation. "We are going to send dozens of aircraft to the island and back. We encourage members of the SLSJ to come to Rooenan, where they will be safe from harm." stated Callie Bartram, a congressperson from the North Frane Commune. "We are taking a peaceful approach to the situation. All we want is for the bloodshed to end."

Many pilots, both military and civilian, have volunteered for the mission, which has been dubbed "Operation Mother Liberty". These brave comrades will be in a very dangerous situation, as the San Jimenez Government has expressed that they "will not allow their escape". "It is my duty as a member of humanity and as a member of the internation Proletariat to aid those who are fighting for their liberty. I'm putting my life in danger, but it is for a higher cause." stated Ashlynn Adam, one of the pilots flying on the mission.

BREAKING NEWS

SAN JIMENEZ FORCES FIRE UPON ROOENAN PLANES

Rooenan planes were fired upon when they entered San Jimenez air space. The planes were intending to extract SLSJ terrorists and harbor them in their country. San Jimenez military forces were instructed to fire upon the planes. At the peace meeting, San Jimenez clearly instructed that Rooenan not get involved with San Jimenez affairs. The terrorists were not to be allowed refuge as long as they were guilt of attacking the life and liberty of the people of San Jimenez. The president is more than likely to be evacuated from the CU Summit Meeting because of the situation. A Decleration of War was declared by the Congressional Branch just earlier. We will update more on the story soon.

The Al-Yashir Prophet

Al-Yashir declares war on San Jimenez!

To a massive audience in the glorious capital of Kateb, out the front of the headquarters of the People's Protection Ministry of Al-Yashir (or more commonly known has the national headquarters of the defence forces), Great Overseer, Brotherly Leader, Allah's Prohpet, Leader Ali Ghannam rightfully announced Al-Yashir will go to war with San Jimenez. The People erupted in major applause at his wise words. This is what he said:

People of Al-Yashir! People of the World, listen now! From my podium here I announce today that we, alongside our revolutionary comrades in Roonean, that we will wage a glorious war against the capitalist war-mongering nation of San Jimenez. At the time San Jimenez violently shot down innocent aircraft of Roonea, the Rooneans were attempting to rescue socialist comrades looking for refuge from their imperialist overlords. This is not sitting well with me, or with the Ministry of Protection! We shall launch a revolutionary struggle against San Jimenez! Viva la Revolution!

Since this, the Al-Yashirian military is beginning to be prepped for war. However there has been no major military movements towards San Jimenez as of now.

TENSIONS IS BUILDING UP NORTH, GOVERNMENT REFUSED TO COMMENT

BHINNEKA, SPECIAL CAPITAL REGION, Antana News Agency - The crumbling peace talks between Rooenan and San Jimenez had resulted in the escalating tensions between each others. After the Roenanian launched 'Operation Mother Liberty' which aimed to evacuate the SLSJ by planes without consent and resulted in San Jimenez reacting, by shooting the plane which they dubbed 'violating San Jimenez air space'. This led to several international reaction, with Al-Yashir declaring war on San Jimenez and Siberia North condemning San Jimenez action and urging fellow communists to wage war against San Jimenez.

President Justuva Susanto, after surveying several government project, refusing to answer any press question, instead saying "We will take action, surely". There has been no official government stance, however our 'internal source' says the President was frustrated over the lingering prospect of war. He refused to say anything more than that. What will Samudera do in the case of war? Were the rumour that the agreement between Samudera and Siberia North contains 'secret clauses' regarding mutual defense? In fact, there has been an increasing activity in Siberia North naval base in Ofkos Islamd. The government had also refusing to comment on this one. This surely will affect Samuderan position in the future.

War erupts in the Isles!
Roonan and San Jimenez face off, Al-Yashir sides with the Reds

After weeks of tension and failed peace talks, everything came to a climax yesterday. San Jimenez fired at Rooenan planes as they attempted to evacuate members of the SLSJ, and subsequently declared war on the communist nation. Ali Ghannam, Al-Yashir's dictator, quickly aligned his nation with Rooenan. Siberia North quickly followed and announced it's support for the Reds as well.

Chief Executive Renolds held a hastily arranged press conference shortly after San Jimenez declared war, to announce Lardingo's neutrality:

After meeting with my cabinet, and members of both COPAD and COA, I am announcing that Lardingo is going to be neutral in this matter.

But when asked whether Lardingo might get involved at a later date, Renolds would not rule anything out:

It might come to it. We'll just have to see. I want to reiterate that this government will not rush into anything without taking into account the wellbeing and concerns of Lardingo's citizens and soldiers. I have been notified by the Head of the Council of Proposal And Drafting that a resolution is at vote to condemn Rooenan.

Abigail Kasy, head of COPAD, responded to questions regarding the proposed resolution.

The fact of the matter is Rooenen intruded on the private matters of a sovereign nation, and threw it's support behind a terrorist organization actively trying to overthrow the government of San Jimenez. While there is no plans for military action at this time, we want the world to know that Lardingo doesn't approve of nations that try to undermine the wishes of a foreign people.

The conflict is expected to be an intense topic of discussion during Jes's COPAD election debates.

Lardians march in response to war.

Protesters and activists are especially busy right now. Citizens marching in support of San Jimenez were met by counter-activists from Lardingo's communist party, who are calling for the government to align itself with Rooenan. There was also a sizable group who held a rally insisting that Lardingo remain neutral. All marches so far have remained peaceful.

Today's Poll:
Question: Which nation, if any, do you wish Lardingo to align with in the conflict?

Rooenan: 21%

San Jimenez: 39%

Remain neutral: 40%

PRESIDENT SPEECH ON DECLERATION OF WAR ON ROOENAN

Image

After failed peace talks with Rooenan, several planes were flown towards Maladium Island to provide refuge for the terrorists in league with the SLSJ. On sight, the planes were fired upon by San Jimenez military forces. President Canone was immediately evacuated from Noronica at the CU Summit Meeting and was flown into San Jimenez. A speech was given today by the president addressing the situation to the people. Thousands of people gathered to hear the speech anxiously. This is what was said:
"Citizens of San Jimenez, as you know, San Jimenez military forces have fired upon a plane belonging to the nation of Rooenan as it attempted to provide refuge to SLSJ members in their country. From Rooenan, Siberia North, and Al-Yashir, we have been labeled as murderers of the innocent. We have been labeled as aggressors. They call us aggressors yet we called for the peace talks to prevent the situation we are currently in. At that peace meeting they informed us of the planes heading for San Jimenez. We directly stated that San Jimenez would eal with the planes if launched and advised Rooenan to halt the action. Rooenan however refused and we did exactly what we had informed them we would do. They call us murderers yet that label belongs to those they are currently trying to rescue. We remember the church attacks. We know that the SLSJ is not a minority of refugees. They have attacked the life of our people. They have attacked the sanctity of democracy. They've killed our mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters. The SLSJ has attacked the freedom and liberty of the Jimenean people. So tell me this, why should we allow the SLSJ a safe passage to Rooenan when they are guilty of these acts of terror? The SLSJ will not be given safety when they themselves have taken that right from so many innocent women and children of the San Jimenez island. I, as well as many of you, have been against a war with a foreign nation, however, that day is upon us. I say to you, let us not shrink from the situation at hand but grow from it. I praise those who stand by San Jimenez right now. With their help, either economically, militarily, or moral support, the Jimenean people will be able to secure the rights which they treasure so dearly and relive the true refugees of Maladium Island from the aggressive SLSJ. I call upon you all to take up arms and defend this island from all enemies that attempt to destroy our nation. I know the Jimenean people will fight with every ounce of effort. Now I must conclude this speech. Stand strong and San Jimenez will be victorious. "May God defend the right and may God defend democracy!'

The crowd erupted with cheer and the waving of the San Jimenez banner after the speech. Broadsides across the nation are calling the Jimenean people to arms to defend the island. Factories have begun speeding up production for arms against the communist enemies of San Jimenez. The president is currently meeting with other politicians and military leaders to discuss further action by San Jimenez.

Dragão do Mar move ships to the Argean Sea

The frigate of the Kanidé class, and corvettes of the Piaba class were patrolling the northern coast of the country

Image Image

Today Dragão do Mar relocated ships to the Argean Sea, more precisely to the point between San Jimenez and Ostehaar. They are in total one frigate and tree corvettes, that before were between the Argean and Mesder sea, but they get around Leetika and recently passed by Michigonia. The movement of the ships can be an answer in front of war declarations on San Jimenez.

The Marian frigate is capable to launch anti-aircraft missiles. The government of Dragão do Mar is allied with San Jimenez and might want to increase the defense of the country, as it is facing threats by communist states after shooting down an airplane from Rooenan, which was going to rescue members of the terrorist group SLSJ.

We can not yet know the consequences of the action of Rooenan, which announced total support to the group, and now can face sanctions by several nations and mainly by the ones of the Cooperative Union, where San Jimenez is a member. The Marian Prime Minister, Leonardo Santiago, have talked in the Leader's Summit of the CU about his positioning:

"We have seen that the nation of Rooenan have no limits, being a militarist country guided by an extremist ideology, which also recused a peaceful conversation. I support the proposal to rise sanctions over Rooenan, and if the situation get worse, the strong arm of Dragão do Mar will be ready to act in favor of San Jimenez"

Casualties of the Black Fog and How They Were Kept Hidden

By Brison Svleek

In the days following the lifting of the Black Fog, much damage has finally seen the light of day. In Valshwab, the lowland city, homes were destroyed, farms sunk, and city streets turned into bogs of disease before the rivers receded once more. In the mountain city of Colzun, hospitals were filled as men whom had been forced to continue to work in the mines became irreversibly ill. In the passes leading down to Ventliri, cars, buses, and trucks alike littered the mountainside, many of the vehicles still unattended as this article is penned. In a particularly tragic case, an overturned bus lay shattered against a boulder along side the winding Highway 12, which has not seen maintenance in years, according to locals in the area. In the face of senseless and tragic losses, Ventlimians have turned to the numbers and reports in an effort to understand their position.

In the lowlands, it was reported that at least 400 people have gone missing or been confirmed dead when the rivers burst their banks as it bent towards Valshwab. Hundreds more have been wounded, according to the Mayor.

"Between the rain and the melting of the snow in the mountains at this time of year, The River Yaro burst. It swept many away immediately and collapsed many of the houses in the poorer communities. The dead in those neighborhoods are still being counted," the Mayor said. "As for the injured, our hospitals were over capacity with issues due only to air quality shortly before Yaro burst. Now, there is an estimated 5,000 more injured to see to, some of whom died during the fog due to the inability to transfer them to Ventliri."

In Colzun, there was no flooding and the weather itself did little damage. However, the fog did not only slip into the homes and workplaces of its inner city residents to cause thousands of casualties, but it seeped into the mines as well. In one coal mine, it is reported that 154 men were found suffocated due to the lack of ventilation in many of its shafts.

"The miners have suffered a great deal," said a local union leader on the condition of anonymity. "Thousands lay in the beds of hospitals and tents or at their homes, suffering in silence. Many have died in the mines and it will be impossible to know the true number of deaths until we explore each and every mine shaft that was affected."

Meanwhile, as the nation attempted to operate as normally during the crisis despite warnings from the government, vehicles had been crashed and bodies left there until only yesterday. Chief Naslin of the Colzun Fire and Rescue described the scenes as "nightmarish" and "revolting."

Image Image Image

"The cleanup along Highway 12 will take days, if not weeks. Bodies left to rot since the first day of the Fog must be removed," he explained. "The vehicles themselves may not be recoverable for sometime due to the steep slopes that Highway 12 traverses."

And how did Ventliri fair during this debacle? About as one would expect. It is, after all, the home of all manufacturing and is the single largest city in Ventlimer, holding some one and a half million residents, all of whom have access to electricity via coal power plants. It was Ventliri that was the true source of the smog and it was Ventliri that suffered the most from it.

Despite having the best hospitals in Ventlimer, they were only just brought below capacity 2 days after the Black Fog was lifted by wind. During the Fog's extended stay, Ventliri is said to have suffered some 75,000 residents who were injured or sickened and, most importantly, almost 1,000 dead citizens. There are no words to describe that level of suffering from such a simple issue as whether to turn off a coal power plant for a couple days.

And how, exactly, is the Ventlimian media reporting this?

They're not. The only story run regarding the consequences of the Fog mentioned only 354 deaths, a few thousands injuries, and a mere hundred and fifty thousand cases of illness. How could such gross negligence occur in one of the most trusted networks of Ventlimer? How could the mangled bodies along Highway 12 go unseen? How could the 154 minors dead in a shaft not be heard? How could the destruction in Valshwab be just a footnote in an article?

Here is how.

After days of calls, rumors, and confirmed reports, it is now clear that President Katirni and the Department of Public Affairs actively covered up the true extent of the damage to the detriment of the people. Reports from across local offices and precincts of police, fire, and health and safety offices which VPB based its numbers on were doctored, faked, or had, in some manner, had their numbers reduced.

"Katirni and Decipa were actively putting out this fire, as some of my superiors put it," one Police official from Valshwab said. "I would submit a report and it would be kicked back within minutes with a note attached detailing what the numbers should be."

The note was written and signed by Decipa and it read as follows:
Mr. ----------,

By order of the Esteemed President, all reports are to mention no dead without permission of the Public Affairs Department. For Valshwab, there shall be no more than 10-18 dead mentioned, no more than 14,400 injured, and no more than 50 Million in property damage.

For the sake of Ventlimer's position as it attempts to build itself up in the eyes of the world, please resubmit your report.

Aslon Decipa,
Secretary of Public Affairs

Similar notes were issued to the fire and rescue departments of Colzun and Ventliri, which have surfaced on the web carrying the seal of the Public Affairs Department.

So what is the effect of this incompetent cover up of the true nature of the damage? It is that Ventlimer has not been offered aid, has not requested aid, nor will it recieve any for so long as the damage is hidden. More and more people will die in situations like this if Ventlimer does not change immediately. There is no question that ignoring this crisis and the consequences of it will lead only to the further recession of Ventlimer into the abyss of a failed state.

Foreign Affaires

The government of Ploxenburgh has just announced that legislation is confirmed to be passed sometime this month regarding foreign policy. The parties report mutually agreeing that they will be open to alliances and are encouraging embassies to be opened between surrounding nations. Although it is still a speculation, some political analysts may claim a diplomatic summit regarding foreign affaires in the region to take place.

More news on legislation on Friday.

Moukeri Soldiers protect the republic

As the Foreign imperialists try to drag us down, we stand strong. Yesterday a force of 500 Moukeri soldiers alongside several tanks broke the terrorists' lines in the Mandewo Department and killed several of them. The terrorists, led by the Huyti Inyezi, have been marshalling their forces there in the jungle ready for a big attack. Our brave soldiers routed these foes, crushing them in open battle. Elsewhere, our air force has performed several precision strikes on the terrorist occupied city of Ngema in Mandewo, where most of the insurgents are based. An attack on this city is likely soon. The city of Himora has been pacified, apart from several rogue neighborhoods where Huytis are resisting violently. Together, we can crush this revolution and bring strength to the nation. A free and Independent Moukere is only attainable if these mercenaries are crushed.

Foreign Affairs Minister appeals to Rooenan to deescalate tensions towards San Jimenez

Image

Minister of Foreign Affairs Tilonius Vesa arrived in Rooenan earlier this morning where he met with Rooenan political leaders urging them to seek peaceful means to end the rising conflicts going on between Rooenan and San Jimenez. Minister Vesa speaking to the Rooenan Central Congress expressed that the international community would not respond lightly to the conflict.

Covonant and our allies and those within the CU is imploring the Rooenan government to desist from their acts of confrontation with a sovereign state conducting matters relating to their national security. If Rooenan continues on that path the international community will be forced to respond in a manner that will be detrimental to the peace and stability of the Isles.

Minister Vesa expressed his concerns at the conflict and noted to the Central Congress that it is an invasion on a sovereign state.

The actions taken by Rooenan must be viewed as an act of invasion on a sovereign territory whatever the reasons and means of that action may be, Covonant nor our allies will tolerate it. Which is why the Covonantian government is pressing hard to us finding a peaceful solution to this matter, without placing troop lives on the line for a not so noble cause.

He notes that Covonant though seeking a diplomatic route will not hesitate to lend military support to its ally San Jimenez. He expressed to the Rooenan Central Congress that the country must prioritize and choose its battles wisely.

I come here not to scold the Rooenan government (Laughs lightly), but to use diplomacy as a route that could see a conflict that I envision would be widespread and chaotic to not occur. Do not be mistaken by our openness to negotiate and to use diplomacy to solve our issues, because my government sends me with a message that if the Rooenan government does not heed to warnings from regional powers and the international community, Covonant and by extension our allies will not hesitate to lend support to San Jimenez who having gained membership in the Cooperative Union is by association an ally of Covonant. The Rooenan government must make wise decisions and prioritize the battles they seek to engage in. This one I can state undoubtedly is not a wise decision

The conflict between Rooenan and San Jimenez began less than 2 weeks ago with the Rooenan forces declaring to rescue refugees on the San Jimenez territory of Maladium. The San Jimenez government is claiming the individuals on the island are members of the SLSJ, a San Jimenez terrorist group that follows a communist ideology.

Minister Vesa is expected to arrive back in Coventry later tonight. Do remember this is the CBC

Foreign Affairs Minster condemns peace talks!

The foreign affairs minister has condemned peace talks today. This comes after the Covonant Foreign affairs minster visited Rooenan today.

"The peace talks will be failures! They will always be biased against the communists and always has been! I call on Rooenan to not accept the peace talks until the communists stuck in SanJ are given the chance to leave the country!"

More coming soon...

Central Congress Reacts to Speech by Covonantian Foreign Affair Minister

After a speech by Tilonius Vesa, the Foreign Affair Minister of Covonant, the Central Congress held an open forum to hear what the people of Rooenan had to say. As people stood before the congress and called in on their phones they voiced many different opinions. Many people were angry that Covonant had the gall to tell Rooenan what to do. Others agreed with Tilonius Vesa, saying that Rooenan could not affoard a war against a majority of the Isles. However there was one thing that all the people who spoke agreed on. Solidarity. No matter if the person was for or against war, they supported Rooenan solidarity with the oppressed people of the SLSJ. The Central Congress released the following statement.

"Rooenan does not want war. It has never wanted war. The people only wish to see the end to the persecution of it's comrades. Our Militias could fight. Every comrade could fight to the death in a bloody struggle. But we do not want this. The Central Congress encourages the nations of the Isles to evacuate the SLSJ. They are people who simply wish to be free. They are workers, united, fighting for liberty. Rooenan welcomes them with open arms. If our fellow nations will not help to prevent the military of the tyrannical San Jimenez from wiping them from the face of the Earth, then Rooenan, with a heavy heart, sees no alternative but war."

Since the declaration of war by San Jimenez the Militia's have been on full alert. The beaches of Rooenan are undergoing fortification in the case of possible invasion. Most communes, especially the ones on the coasts, have mandated twenty four hour sky surveillance. Fishing boats have been advised to use extreme caution and to only harvest from the western side of the island.

Rooenan Allies with Gherrum

Meetings between members of the Rooenanian Foreign Assembly and the Premier of Gherrum ended this week with both sides benefiting. Both nations declared a mutual defense pact, so that if one nation is attacked, the other will defend them. To go along with this is the agreement to annual joint military exercises, and the importing of Gherrum oil for Rooenan foodstuffs. "If the situation with San Jimenez escalates I am glad to have a friend who will support us with their military. And if relations with Covonant go sour and they cancel our trade deal, then I am glad that our people wont be without the resources they need." said Jeannette Kästner, a farmer from the Long-Rock Commune. Republican factions of Rooenan have protested the alliance, but in the face of crisis most people are content.
