Marian Foreign Affairs Minister condemns incident in New Oranistan

Rodrigo Francisco, the general Minister of Foreign Affairs of Dragão do Mar, talked to the press about recent homophobic happening in our neighbor nation, New Oranistan. The incident in question was the stoning of a young man without name, in a rural community.

"We have to raise our voices against attacks to lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transsexuals. We have to oppose to aggressions, arrests and discriminatory restrictions that this people face. No types of hate should have space in the 21th century, especially the ones based in beliefs. I know, there is not a paradise, even Dragão do Mar have cases of homophobia-based aggressions, but something have to be done. "

Orume Moves to end Isolationist Policies
By Sehlâm Mekhebt-Hillet, Amhara ID, Journalist for the ERNA

| ORUME ASSEMBLY BUILDING, THE ELEPHANT PALACE, AMALIANÖR ABABA 13:40 |Within the confines of the Elephant Palace's press room, on a Mahogany Table lies the nametags of the three Orumeiki (Members of the High Orume Council) who constitute the sole gubernatorial organ below the Emperor/Ingkáh. The Orume acts as a unifying body between the two branches of the government, and act as the upper house to the Orume Assembly [Lower Orume Body]. The Orume Lower Assembly, consisting of 2 chambers, voted unanimously to end isolation. The Chamber of the Unions saw all 5 Islands vote for the Anti-Isolationist Bill [Called the Averyto Amali/Abra Amalia/ክፍት አማሊያ], and the Chamber of the States saw all 9 States/Federations vote for the Averyto Bill. Once passed in the lower Orume, the Averyto Bill made its way to the High Orume Council with the 3 Representatives of the Government voting aye for the bill - thus sending it to the Emperor for signature. Emperor W'menelik Ternale II signed the bill and promulgated the nation to accept the Bill. As press room's air becomes more and more dense with anxiety, the Emperor entered from the magenta velvet curtains, and made his first public appearance in 4 months. The Emperor, an Amhara Monarch, was wearing a bespoken Amrnai Suit, designed in the Trade Union Commonwealth out of imported Marian Silk. The Emperor was about to make remarks concerning the Averyto Bill and its passings, as he would finally open the nation up for Foreign investment: |

    | Emperor W'menelik Ternale II: | "Moments ago, by the hand of the Amali Impeiral Dynasty and Rule, the Averyto Bill and Act was signed, thus opening the ports of Amalhia to international trade and investments. The millions of ores that dot our Mountains can now be shared with the world. Our culture and history can once again be known by all who point their nose in the direction of our divine abode. Our people, language, history, and culture are both unique and vibrant, captivating the many conquerors, enticing them into the proud trap that is our defence mechanism: our people. The Amali have suffered in recent years, with the 2007-8 Recession destroying our economy. It has been 7 years, and in 7 years we have exceeded pre-Recession standards by 18%. This jump will propagate a capitalist agenda which will set our doctrine ahead by 2 years. The Ministries of Foreign Relations and Trade & Financial Harmony have been notified of the change in policy, and within the week we hope to see an increase in the Ababa Stock Exchange. Gratibighato good people of our islands, may Our Lord provide ease to break for all in our abode of heavenly beauty! "

| Following the Emperor's announcement millions entered the streets of Adis Amala, Lalibela Asmara, Ogadhiśu, and Nova Lisbon, celebrating the end of isolationist policies in Amalhia. The Emperor's own son lead a celebration in Adis Amala launching several [illegal] fireworks, illuminated the starry night sky. Houses across the Empire rung with the sound of Champagne popping! The Imperial Police in all 5 Islands have been alerted of a possible increase in drunk driving and other intoxicated-related accidents of nature. The Aymora see this move as one against them, seeing that their struggle of independence from the Amharic-dominated Empire will be ignored, and Amhara reannexation and reincorporation is inevitable. The Aymora Sovereign Territroy Group (Grupo Sovereinha Territolho Aymorais - GSTA) launched an attack on the New Lisbon Celebration crowd, injuring 6 people, killing none. The Imperial Police force on the Impala island has been notified of the GSTA's most recent insurgent attacks. From the end of Isolationism, the international community is left with options: support White Aymorais in its violent, yet justified, war for sovereignty, or embrace a capitalist Empire whose ports can redefine international trade in the Isles. |

ACEGAD declares victory in Wesland elections
Highland Ridge, Ainslie

With a majority of the vote already counted in the electorate of Wesland, a clear ACEGAD lead has been shown. Following a scandal involving the past LLST government in Wesland, this swing clearly shows the public’s opinion on the issue.

The LLST party, early in April, declined the recommendations that the Judicial Council gave to the electoral government. These recommendations surrounded reform of the Electoral Courts in Wesland, giving the Judicial Council temporary oversight of them. The LLST party, known for their progressive and liberal social policies, were seen as inconsistent by the voters who generally supported recommendations which ensured the upholding of Human Rights within the system. The LLST has previously campaigned for Human Rights, and the denial of these recommendations hurt their party.

Electoral Seats

Highland View ACEGAD 45%, LLST 25%, APC 20%
Highland View, a recent LLST stronghold is an electorate including the portions of Arnton which have the youngest population, is traditionally LLST.

Highland Ridge ACEGAD 41%, APC 40%, LLST 5%
Highland Ridge, including the town of Highland Ridge and the surrounds of it, typically is a marginal seat, often under APC control.

Tableland Downs ACEGAD 72%, APC 11%, LLST 9%
Tableland Downs, the more westerly parts of Wesland, an agricultural district, typically experiences a large ACEGAD majority. However, 72% is unusually high for this district.

Arnton ACEGAD 58%, LLST 25%, APC 10%

Hauton LLST 22%, ACEGAD 20%, APC 18%

Noah Redecki claimed victory in the Wesland Elections earlier this morning, thanking his supporters

“Thank you, citizens of Wesland, for your studious dillegence as always in the election process. We thank you and are honoured that you have placed this value and responsibility onto our party. From me, and the whole ACEGAD Wesland team, we promise to try our best to deliver optimal results for the electorate”

Carrighinnis Rebellion Crumbles Despite Heavy Weapons, Foreign Aid

Image
Ahernric authorities capture suspected foreign combatants and weaponry on Carrighinnis

Just days ago, extremists on Carrighinnis initiated an attempt to rise against the Ahernry. Although it may have started as an attempt to split from Shanowinn in favor of the treasonous highland cause, it appears that the short-lived rebellion was beset with factional disagreement. This has resulted in even further inability to hold off the Royal Owinn Army counterattack, which was inevitable.

The Carrighinnis rebels had some initial success in terrorizing the island for several days. However, they were incapable of sustaining their belligerent endeavor in the face of Owinn troops as well as the National Ahernric Police Service. ROA and NAPS forces have re-secured several points on the island, including parts of the city itself. Rebel snipers and ambushes still present danger for Owinn troops but the Army has said that armored forces are proving to be effective.

In the campaign to retake Carrighinnis island, ROA and NAPS troops have made startling discoveries. Even though the ROA counterattacks with well-armored and equipped vehicles, they have also captured several high caliber recoilless rifles from extremists, which can still be deadly. Additionally, a number of particular military rifles; the National Ahernric Police and Owinn Army are considering the possibility that they have been smuggled to the extremists. The rifles, for instance, aren't common issue for the Owinn military or government, let alone civilian ownership prior to these hostilities. Rumors, including among firearms enthusiasts, suggest that these type of rifles are used in Wellsia, but cannot confirm actual involvement.

Most troubling, the National Ahernric Police Service has been observed handling apparently high-value prisoners, which may not be from Carrighinnis, the highlands, or Shanowinn proper. Like with the firearms, rumors question foreign involvement. Due to the suspicion regarding the weapons and Wellsia, the Ahern's Minister of the Exterior Carmac Cadix Gall pledges to visit Wellsia and work with their authorities.

Religous Demonstration ended in peace

Image
The 45 Demonstration as seen in Bhinneka

"We demand the government to end this unilateral discrimination towards us!", the demonstrator shouted with loudspeaker. The 45 March (although it's already May, they didn't receive our opinion very well), as they called them, has been held in the capital and several big city, notably Gandaria, Kotapura, and suburb Najwa. The demonstration aimed to end decades long discrimination that all government had put blind eye on this matter, as they claimed. At Bhinneka, they started the march at Hadran Park, straight towards Hotel Samudera roundabout and finally ended infront of the Presidential Palace. The demonstrator consisted of several religion, most notably the Christian and Islamist. This wasn't the first appearance that both religion worked together. However, this was the biggest rally they ever held in the entire country.

Before the demonstration were held, there's several accusation that opposition party, Christian Conservative Party, would use the momentum to staged a coup. The allegation was denied when the Chief of Police told the press that the demonstration was held with Police's permission. The Christian Conservative Party leader, Kristova Jumhari also told the press that he had nothing to do with the press, claiming he will upheld the democracy process. This allegation isn't unusual, after the political tension had been heating up preceding governor elections.

Chief of Police, Asep Cunto, said that there's approximately 50,000 personnel guarding the demonstration in the whole country. There's also an unknown number of military guarding the demonstration. The Presidential Palace accepted the demonstrator demand to speak with the government after lengthy discussion with the police dispatch at 13.00. After the demostrator representatives concluded the meeting with government official, the President himself spokes to the crowd, "We hear your demands! We never discriminate or even abandon you! We are united, we are one. No one shall treated differently only because religious or even ethnical reason. We are a single country and we will solve this problem for the good of us!". The demonstration dispersed at 18.00 after the President's address. This should marked Samudera as a free yet united nation in which we are one because we are Samuderan, not because we are Christian, we are Samud, or anything else.

Gifford condemns New Oranistani Government
Swansea, Ainslie

Gifford was in Swansea today, talking to ACEGAD heads in the electorate of Norlands. She has been a common appearance in the recent daily press conferences, especially running them by herself. She is a relatively junior minister, but Kenzai brought her into the administration due to her youthfulness, liberalist thinking and charismatic personality.

Gifford was also questioned on the stoning in New Oranistan
”This is just plain stupid. It is incredible that in the 21st Century we still see these incidents. This is a by-product of a theocracy obsessed with its own religion. I also find it horrifying that the Oranistani News Network included a picture in its news release.”

Gifford then proceeded to condemn the state, declaring that further diplomatic consequences will happen if these violations of human rights continue.

Jackson’s Independent Nationalists party formed
Highland Ridge, Ainslie

Lawrence Jackson, a renegade ACEGAD senator from Lower Verd, has formed his own party, the Independent Nationalist party. This was his initial statement:

For a time, a long long time, the conservative peoples in this nation have had to bow to oppressive centrists who rule us with an iron fist. This stops right now. Right now with me.

He then proceeded to continue with a large amount of offensive language, until some Federal Corporals accompanying a Judicial Council official who was watching this, told him to ‘calm down’.

The Whindin Church hit back at Jackson’s comments stating that they are offensive, disrespectful, and do not align with Whindist values. However, Jackson is an atheist, who is part of a minority due to his beliefs in Ainslie.

He was more composed as he spoke at an Ahnslen Press Club dinner in Highland Ridge yesterday.

I truly believe that the conservatives have been ignored, those centrists… they are so bad… practically witches if you ask me. It is so sad, what’s happening to the conservative movement here. Crushed by a pseudo democracy. Absolute dissapointment.

ACEGAD and LLST have already released statements discussing how deeply offended and disgusted they are by the very existence of this party. The Judicial Council is expected to allow this party to run in future elections, due to its' democratic mandate. However, it is very likely that the JCs will block any involvement from the Independent Nationalist party in the Ahnslen political sphere of influence.

SLSJ ATTACKS CATHEDRAL IN SOUTH JORENU

Image

This afternoon, 18 men in league with the SLSJ (Socialist Liberators of San Jimenez) launched an attack on a Catholic cathedral, taking everyone inside hostage. The SLSJ removed the cross from the top of the building and raised up the red banner that included the words "Abajo con su señor" meaning "Down with their lord". Policemen quickly arrived on the scene and were immediately fired upon by automatic weapons. The police were able to hold their positions until the National Guard arrived. Before the National Guard could take control of the cathedral, the SLSJ fired upon the hostages, leaving 12 injured and 3 killed. One of the three killed was the priest. The SLSJ began burning the books and relics inside. The fire became out of control and the cathedral caught fire. SLSJ men were seen running from the scene and were fired upon by the National Guard. It is expected that 4 of the men escaped the scene. The regional government of South Jorenu has ordered the lock down of the region's border. Martial Law has been enacted in the region until the 4 suspects are found. The Vice-President will address the nation tomorrow on how the government will respond to the attack.

Central Congress Encourages the Eradication of Bourgeois Culture

Earlier this week the Central Congress met at the request of the Rooenanian Communes. The Communes have been reporting a large surge in the prevalence of reactionary ideologies as they do every spring. This has caused much strife as these class traitors hoard what food is left over from winter and fight any hungry person who simply wants a bite to eat. These small reactionary cells have been dealt with quickly but the Rooenanian Communes have decided to come together to attempt to get to the root of the problem.

This morning the Central Congress announced their plan for solving the recurring problem of reactionary thought. The old Bourgeois Culture still remains in Rooenan. The Central Congress encouraged the people of Rooenan to begin the eradication of this culture. People soon heeded their advice, as they stormed en mass into libraries, temples, graveyards, and other containers of the past, to destroy any item that could encourage reactionary thought. Anyone defending the reactionary objects were subjected to public humiliation in front of hundreds of people. "This is a great start! However it is obviously just that, a start. This is an undertaking of massive proportions, but I believe we will succeed in creating a new culture from the ashes of the old." ~ Ziska Stephens

FC Cortes and Spearhead Battle for MFA Title

Cortes- On Sunday Night, the 2016-17 MFA Champion will be crowned before 60,000 fans at Rodrigo Estadio in Cortes. FC Cortes look to win their 14th title against the defending champions, Spearhead of Roggedam. Spearhead won the season series with a win and a draw, 2-1 and 1-1 respectively.

The state legislatures of Zeelandia and Calionte have already declared Monday as state holidays, allowing workers and families to partake in celebration or heartbreak, whichever may be the case. Last year, rowdy crowds in Jamesport closed shops and schools for days following their 2-0 loss to Spearhead in the Championship Final.

Both Roggedam and Cortes have announced increased security measures ahead of the championship weekend.

Dragão do Mar shows its support to San Jimenez entrance in the Cooperative Union

Peter Hernandez, the representative of San Jimenez arrived in Commission of the Cooperative Union in the last Wednesday, 4, formalizing the entrance of the country in the alliance. The delegate of Ainslie openly showed her disapproval to the procedure occurring, mentioning the irony in a theocracy entering in a liberal union. Others from Athara Magarat and West Suomi greeted Hernandez in a neutral figure. But André Marques, the representative of Dragão do Mar, announced the total support to San Jimenez entrance in the Cooperative Union. Check below the full pronouncement of André Marques.

"As the representative of Dragão do Mar i should gratify the entrance of San Jimenez in the Cooperative Union, and announce our total support to the country. With this, i have to explain that, all our questions about the Jimenean Theocratic Republic were answered, and completely clarified with the entering of San Jimenez in the Association of Luso-Hispanic Nations, which demanded a bureaucratic process of explanation of the Jimenean government system"

"Today we believe that San Jimenez is not an dictatorship, but a democratic state. The Jimenean theocracy is completely different of New Oranistan and the theocracies of biblical times, where civil rights are scarce and the political freedom is rare. The Theocratic Republic of San Jimenez is a modern one where the Catholic Institution do not controls the government, but symbolize it. After all, the citizens of San Jimenez are dominantly 98.34% Catholic, and a government should be representative, or shouldn't be?"

André Marques

Since the creation of the Association of Luso-Hispanic Nations, both Dragão do Mar and San Jimenez were approaching its relations, as well as with Amalhia, Areguelista and Corindia. But now with San Jimenez in the Cooperative Union, we should expect mutual initiatives of collective work between the countries.

The Marian Ministry of Tourism publishes a official letter

In the official letter of the Ministry of Tourism of Dragão do Mar, important touristic points of the country were highlighted, showing touristic destinations in all the provinces of the country, less in Solaria. According to the Secretary of the ministry, it is a strategical move.

As we know, June is a period of intense movement of tourists in our country. With this, many facilities are being create to people who want to know different places, like the cruise routes by the Travencian company Imperial Cruises. Especially the North by Northwest Route, which will start in Dragão do Mar, encouraged us to publish this letter"

Daniele Almeida, secretary in the ministry

San Jimenez joins CU, Ainslie voices concern
Coventry, Covonant

San Jimenez, a religious theocracy, has joined the Cooperative Union. The Cooperative Union is a multinational bloc of nations, specifically those from the liberal and social democracy spectrum, and the entrance of a right-wing catholic theocracy may change this precedent. Eleane Gifford today provided a statement regarding the incident.

”I find it incredible that Ms Hughes was the only delegate who specifically brought up the concern of this all. We would like to retain our neutral stance to San Jimenez, but we view their decision to join the CU as one with a desire to reform their government, although they could've done that outside of the union.

To further eleborate on this, Arendai has talked to the CU Ambassador in Coventry, and she expressed her desire to negotiate further laws and safeguards to stop this from happening, or perhaps, reverse this decision

New Abortion bill passes Ahnslen Senate
Coventry, Covonant
Seen as a win for the liberals and the leftist in Ainslie, after a bill limiting the rights of homosexuals in the nation, this new Abortion bill further relaxes former legislation prohibiting women from getting abortions except in circumstances when there is serious danger to their physical or mental health. The Reproductive Rights (Abortions and Accidental Pregnancies) Act 2017 (FED) is the new bill in effect.

The new act appears to be a response to Ainslie’s continued efforts to become more progressive and liberal, and this motion appears to be well overdue. With both the Prime Minister and the Head of State out on official state duties, the deputy Prime Minister and a member of the Judicial Council signed instead. These two individuals are more conservative leaning, and it is pretty clear that they respect the people’s wishes over their own. Blackmore has previously stated that she is not in support of this bill. However, Kenzai and Shirazi both agreed on the bills passing, so it did not get much resistance as it passed through the Senate and underwent discussions at the Judicial Council.

Reformation?

With unrest growing in the CU since the Theocratic Republic's admission, Peter Hernandez, the delegate to the CU, had called upon reformation in the San Jimenez government after hearing from other delegates of nations in the CU. President Canone was contacted by Hernandez and showed some support for the idea. Representatives of the regional government of Teran have proposed the Reformation Act. It is unsure of how the political parties will respond to this act. The Reformation Act would be the complete dissolution of the theocratic branch in San Jimenez and the dissolution of the Church in government politics. Many nations have advocated for Reforms in San Jimenez, most notably, Ainslie. For the Reformation Act in government to be passed, the regional governments would have to ratify the act and President Canone would have to sign off on it. President Canone, however, is currently abroad at the CU summit meeting so the document will be sent to Covonant if ratifed by the regions. No one is quite sure of what the future has in store for the nation.

Response To SLSJ Attack

Image

Today, Vice-President, George Davis, adressed the nation on the attacks by the SLSJ.

"It is clear that San Jimenez needs to boost efforts to subdue the SLSJ. The military on Maladium Island is simply not enough. WIth the president's approval, I issue an executive order to raise the armed forces on Maladium Island from 5,000 to a larger number of 10,000. The executive order also includes a naval blockade of Maladium Island. I know that with total support from the people of San Jimenez, we can officialy subdue the SLSJ and admit Maladium Island as a full regional government of San Jimenez. Thank you, your Vice-President, George Davis.

200 Dead in Massive Terrorist Attack in North Yorkford

At least 200 are dead, wounded, or missing in the largest attack in Vancouvian history. An explosion at the graduating ceremony for the 35th Vancouvian Special Forces cohort was followed by a stream of targeted gunfire against the cadets and their nearby families. Although reports are still coming in, it appears all terrorists have been killed or captured by base personnel.

Almost all major businesses have shut their doors, allowing their employees to go home to be with their families. Congress has ordered the fleet home to North Yorkford, while the air force has been scrambled and all international flights cancelled. The Grand Vancouvian Rail and feeder lines have substantially increased security and Congress has been moved to the secure bunker.

We will have more on this story as we receive additional information. For now, our thoughts are with the men and women of North Yorkford, their families, and the Vancouvian people. Let us come together now in this terribly trying time.

Top Story: SMI-2 Executing Citizens, Hacks Spark Outrage and Riots
Image

Just yesterday a hacking group known as "For the People" released numerous files from hacking into Svalbardian Military Intelligence Section II, also known as SMI-2. These files showed that 30 people who went missing across Polar Svalbard who were thought to be killed in murders or died in hospitals were actually captured and executed by SMI-2 in an effort to not allow Ticking Flu into Polar Svalbard. Many news agencies were confused that there were no cases in Polar Svalbard and many praised the government for being able to handle the situation but no one knew the truth.

It seems there was a massive governmental cover-up of this which has led many to question what else the government is doing. These documents having been released caused massive riots in major cities across Polar Svalbard today in which the military was brought in using tear gas, riot gear, and in many cases firing shots into the crowds due to attacks from the rioters. Over 20 citizens lay dead tonight, and hundreds more are injured through many cities. The mayors of many major cities have declared a state of emergency and the military is active across the nation.

It is unknown what is going to happen in the coming days, the coming weeks and many are fearful. People are calling for action against SMI-2 all across the nation and the Consuls have not released any press announcements about this yet.

Alta Riots Cited as Worst, Shots Fired
Image

With the uncovering of what SMI-2 has done riots have sprung up around the nation. The Riots were and still are the worst in the Capitol City, Alta. Here thousands of citizens have been marching through the streets, setting up fires, and attacking police. The military was called in and after hours of stand-offs with smaller weapons being thrown at the police and military personnel shots started to come out of the rioters' side. After that military personnel started firing back at those who had guns, although some citizens got caught in cross fire. As of now the military is enforcing a curfew and clearing the streets after the mayor declared a state of emergency.

Many tonight are fearful of what is going to happen, Svalbardian News Nine will try to keep the nation updated. Stay safe tonight, God bless everyone on this sad night.

With the continuing of the War that the MSTO has been fighting for a year the Consul Bellum has finally sent the First Fleet south. Talks of such have been in progress for months but nothing happened. As of now this is the only news available to the public. What is going to happen is unknown but it is hopeful this will progress the war along faster. Miklania and Doppler have been fighting off Aapelistanni forces in Doppler for over a year now and the fighting continues to be intense, many are hoping for good news to come of this with all the terrible stuff on the homefront.

SMN News
30 April 2017
Blue Waters, West Suomi

Today we have a very sad and gruesome edition of SMN News, so discretion is advised.

Massive terrorist attack in Vancouvia
Yesterday in North Yorkford, Vancouvia, at least 200 people are dead, wounded, or missing after terrorists planted a bomb at the graduating ceremony for the 35th Vancouvian Special Forces. After the bomb exploded, there was much panic within the audience, and the terrorists started shooting. It is unknown as of now who the terrorists are, what their motive was and what group they belong to.

All international flights to and from Vancouvia have been cancelled.

Vice President Finn Deksin, of West Suomi, went onto the news and had this to say,

"Today is a very sad day for The Western Isles. A huge terrorist attack has been carried out in North Yorkford, Vancouvia, causing at least 200 Vancouvians to be dead, wounded or missing after the attack. It is unknown what the terrorists' motive was, and what terror group they are part of. May I ask all of you to share condolences and please think of the fellow Vancouvians who were killed in the attack, and offer support to the victims' families if possible. Thank you."

Riots, protests and unrest after SMI-2 allegedly killed 30 people in Polar Svalbard
Starting from yesterday, there has been much unrest in Polar Svalbard, after a hacking group known as 'For The People' released files from the Svalbardian Military Intelligence Section II, also known as SMI-2. These files show that 30 people who disappeared mysteriously in Polar Svalbard were allegedly taken by military officials and killed, to prevent the spread of the Ticking Flu in Polar Svalbard.

This has caused many Svalbardian citizens to take to the streets and riot against the government. Several riots have become violent, with the Svalbardian military being called in on numerous occasions to control the crowds using tear gas, riot gear and even shooting bullets into crowds. 20 people have been killed in riots as of now.

We urge Suomian citizens not to travel to Polar Svalbard for the time being, as it could be very dangerous due to the instability over there as of late.

Restoration of Ancient Hindu Temple
Image
Saribucandi Temple after it's restoration in 2017

The Saribucandi Temple (means Thousand-temple in Samud) now opens to tourists after a decade long restoration. Discovered in 1908 by the British governor-general, Sir John Stamford Raffly, the temple had been neglected for almost a millenia by the subsequent government. Only in 2009 did the government decided to restore Saribucandi Temple, that costs fortune for the taxpayers. The long neglected temple structure were in a miserable condition, after looting by the locals. The now restored temple is expected to bring tourism revenue for the country, and a controversial ban on pilgrimage and religious activity in the temple complex imposed by the government. This also expected to boost the locals economy that depends mostly on agriculture that suffered from heavy rainfall in preceding month.

The Hindu in the country remained half-heartedly accept the government's law that banned all religious activity in the temple comples. After the 45 Demonstration that some Hindu joined, along with the Christian, Islamist and Buddhist, the tension between government had been tenous. Compared to the frozen relationship between them for almost 10 years. The President says, "This should proof that our beloved country are indeed multicultural and love peace between each other. This should mark our commitment to open and promote our touristic destination to the rest of the world!" in the opening remark.

OSTEHAAR PROTESTS ADMISSION OF SAN JIMENEZ TO THE C.U.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Elena Brahurer commented on the recent admission of San Jimenez to the CU, during a press conference earlier today. Brahurer expressed the Oster government's criticism on the matter, and stressed the concerns that it may lead to a "bankruptcy of values" in the organization. "We were skeptical about the CU in the past," the Minister said today, "but this recent step makes it clear to us that we can't trust the CU to remain an organization that promotes democracy, stability, and freedom in the region."

"Unfortunately, the theocratic regime of San Jimenez can keep operating the way it does, but that does not mean that respectable alliances such as the CU should give it legitimacy by making the country a member," Brahurer added. Minister Gifford of Ainslie expressed similar objections to the decision.

Following the Minister's statement, the Ministry announced that Ostehaar will reduce its ties with the CU and its institutions to the necessary minimum. Bilateral agreements with certain CU members, such as Noronica, Covonant, and Ainslie, will remain in force.

In other news:
  • Still no new information on the terrorist attack in North Yorkford, Vancouvia, in which 200 people were killed. Prime Minister Rikard Vulf Dorias spoke with representatives of the Vancouvian Congress by phone yesterday evening, and later released a statement of condolences and support. According to the statement, he offered Ostehaar's help with the investigation of the incident and with "hunting down the perpetrators."
  • The number of cases of Ticking Flu in Ostehaar continues to decline with the announcement of 6 new cases this week. Dan Vortes, a special adviser to the government on the issue of the Ticking Flu, said that as of May 6th, a total of 43 confirmed cases of Ticking Flu were reported in Ostehaar, and 6 people died of the disease.

San Jimenez joins the Cooperative Union

The Theocratic Republic of San Jimenez has recently been admitted into The Cooperative Union.
The decision to admit a theocracy into a union of more liberal democratic nations is one that has been met with criticism from many.
Foreign Affairs Minister Adam Edinson called the decision "disappointing" but "hopefully one that leads to government reform in San Jimenez"

Fire Breaks out at Normansjet Market, Ipland City

The large and popular Normansjet Market located in Ipland City was on fire near the Western entrance on Besron Street.
The flame enguled a large part of the Market, and as many as 26 people are reported injured.

The cause of the fire was likely due to a kitchen fire in a bakery found in the market.

Cooperative Union, not so Cooperative?

Image

Cooperative Zone, Senoica, Covonant

Following a 2/3 majority vote by CU member states representative to induct San Jimenez as a member of the economic politically bloc, member states of the Cooperative Union have voiced opposition to the move, most notably the Ahnslen Ambassador Mrs. Olivia Hughes who expressed that the CU was being too conflicting.

Image
Commission Chamber

Fellow delegates, we are at the crossroads. We are at a moral intersection and the decisions we make here and now, but also in the near future are going to be those which define us as a Union. Our beliefs, although undefined, appear to be conflicting.

Mrs. Hughes noted that the CU must make its principles and values well defined so as to prevent instances of lacking vision and purpose.

Are our ideas of tolerance and acceptance leading us on a path to ignorance, where we turn a blind eye to nations who directly violate the very principles we have so successfully cultivated within the union? This is why I am presenting this to the Cooperative Commission today. We must define our values, so we can be resolute and steadfast in growing and spreading the values which make us great and united. Without these values dictating our vision, are we simply a group of nations meeting, like the League of TWI? Without values, we do not have a true purpose or vision. What has attracted so many nations, including ours, to join this union is the combination of a powerful economic marketplace of activity, as well as the state of agreement we have on specific issues. We must continue this precedent onwards.

Mrs. Hughes was however not alone in her stance concerning the admittance of a state that is ideologically and politically oriented from all the other CU states. Covonantian Ambassador Mrs. Lucretia Silvania sought to use Covonant's influence in the bloc to open the space for reform. Mrs. Silvania who was quick to vote in favour of San Jimenez membership in the CU seems to be moving away from that position, as she is looking for the other members to amend the CU laws.

The points raised by Mrs. Hughes is one which Covonant greatly supports. And in all honesty, she is right. We are not synonymous in any way to the league of TWI and we have to have a unique element that sets us apart. That distinguishes us as different from the other alliances. And I believe that difference would lie in our ideologies and our purpose. I believe Mrs. Hughes has provided a great platform that I believe may lead to constitutional change for the CU

Mrs. Silvania in the meantime has presented a resolution to the Commission that is expected to be voted on later this week. Around the region in Cooperative Union member states, citizens in various countries have expressed shock and anger at the CU decision to incorporate a theocratic state in the bloc. In Ainslie many have shown solidarity with Ahnslen Ambassador to the CU Mrs. Hughes by calling her a true supporter for human rights and freedom.

Of all the representatives over there in Covonant, it took an Ahnslen to tell them that they were wrong and it makes me proud that my people are not afraid to stand up for what's right. Maybe the other delegates will learn a thing or two from Ahnslen leadership
-Anthony, Hauton Resident.

In Ipland many were hopeful that the CU will deal with the issue.

I am shocked that the members allowed the CU to fall into somewhat of disrepute but I believe they understand the severity of the matter and will deal with it.
-Tonik, Ipland City Resident

Over in Covonant, Opposition Leader Crassus Gais who has been public of his non support of the CU has expressed that he is not surprise with what has taken place. He notes that the CU have been losing sight since its beginning.

Image
Crassu Gais, Opposition Leader

What we are witnessing is an organisation that is struggling to remain relevant. They have really shown the Isles that they have no objective nor purpose this is why I was against Covonant ever being a part of that fanatical institution. But it seems they won't stop until the entire region is a member as they care more about economics than politics.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Tilonius Vesa who recently returned from diplomatic mission in Bhumidol has called the Opposition Leaders remark as damaging. He notes that Covonant did not simply join the CU but created it, and must be mindful that its success means the success for all member state and non member state.

Image
Foreign Minister, Tilonius Vesa

I am deeply upset at the remarks by the Opposition Leader. He presents the CU as though it does not have the ability to reassess its mandates and policies. Some of the brightest men and women work at the Cooperative Zone to ensure it remains true to its purpose and relevant. His remarks are damaging not only as a Cooperative Citizen but someone who is looking to become Prime Minister of a country within the CU that yields great influence. I think people need to stop thinking that the CU is a perfect entity. It was never a perfect entity. What it is, is an institution that believes that true cooperation can allow nations to achieve economic and political success and that conflicts in the Isles would be lessen. If we all have hopes that it will do just that, then statements that are destructive to the cause would not be expressed.

Over at the Cooperative Zone, the CBC TWI spoke to Covonantian Ambassador to the CU Mrs. Lucretia Silvania who expressed that the CU is not in a existential crisis as others are claiming and that the matter is well under control.

The CU is strong and we are continuing with business as usual. We are not in a crisis of defining our position. We know who we are and what we stand for. What we are doing is safeguarding our principles and enforcing our laws.

When asked whether foreign opinion had influenced the CU Mrs. Silvania had this to say.

The CU is made up of 12 states so if any foreign opinion that would influence the operation and mandate of the CU, it would come from one of those 12 member states. We of course cherish the views of CU partners but we have to operate on what works for the CU. If we notice a breach in CU laws we have the capabilities to rectify it

When asked on the possible outcome for San Jimenez, Mrs. Silvania noted that the CU members would have to decide on that.

It is not an issue where I can give an answer on. It is a collective issue and that matter happens within the Chamber. I can state however that there is unison and understanding of the situation among all members and we are working with ensuring the CU in the end showcases to the Isles that we are a formidable force capable of handling our affairs

Travencian President McMurray resumes duties

Image

Travencia City, Travencia

At 12pm Travencian Standard Time, President Fredo McMurray has resumed his duties as acting president following complications of a chronic illness. McMurray has admitted to suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn's Disease and Psoriasis, something he has kept a closely held secret since entering politics. While under treatment by his personal physician, McMurray had suffered recently a severe flare that failed to respond in adequate time to steroids. It was soon discovered that there was an abdominal abscess which needed immediate surgical intervention, which discovered the president was at risk for rupturing his severely ulcerated colon. He responded well to surgery, and has been rehabilitating for the last few weeks. While recommended to take it easy, and get ample rest and relaxation he has been given permission to resume his professional duties.

Foreign Minister Vesa concerned with riots taking place in Polar Svalbard

Alta, Polar Svalbard

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Tilonius Vesa is calling on the Svalbardian government to desist from using excessive force on protestors. He notes that the country is portraying a bad image to the international community that could result in diplomatic backlash.

Polar Svalbard needs to understand that they are an influential state in the region and for the government to have the military called in to inflict deadly harm to civilians, it damages their image and makes it harder for them to advise other states to tow the line.

He expresses that the Ministry was shocked at receiving news of leaked documents showing where the government had been directly involved in the killing of Polar Svalbardian citizens. He however notes that the Covonantian government will not be reactive on the matter for uncertainty of the leaked documents being authentic.

We were all shocked to hear that the government in Polar was carrying out killings of its own citizens but we have to be mindful not to be too reactive to all the news that have been reported. We are monitoring the matter and will wait for the authenticity of the document being revealed.

Minorities Embrace Calls For Reform in San Jimenez

Image

Reform in San Jimenez has gained support from countless international nations since the admission to the CU. With the Reformation Act being proposed, minority groups across the nation have called for government action. John Dune, A Jew in the country, has organized protests urging San Jimenez to pass the bill. This was said at a public rally in downtown Gran Teran.

The Jewish community has been silent for too long. It is time for a change in this country! The nation claims to fight the SLSJ in the cause of freedom, yet denies an entire religion of its freedom. President Canone has stated his support for the bill, so its time it passes. The Theocratic Republic is failing to provide freedom to the minorities and needs to be replaced. I urge all Muslims, Buddhist, Christians, and people of all religious backgrounds to unite and support the Reformation Act so that every citizen of this country may enjoy freedom!

Some politicians have stated their opposition to the bill, including the representative leader of the Centralist Party, Samuel Davis.

The president's decision to admit San Jimenez to the CU was a grave mistake. We cannot change our government because a small percent of the population is dissatisfied. Canone and the Confederative Party have led this country down a terrible path. Because of the president's actions, we are in a bloody war with the SLSJ on Maladium Island! I believe that it is time we stop the president and his radical Confederative Party.

Despite efforts from the Centralist Party, the Reformation Act has gained significant supporters within the borders of San Jimenez and beyond. Dune has organized many protests across the country and in the capital, Gran Teran. The representatives will vote on whether the bill will be passed and sent to the regional governments for ratification. The vote will be held on Tuesday in the House of Representatives. The Confederative Party announced that they would not stop fighting Davis in politics until every person can enjoy freedom in San Jimenez.

More Ahernric Brutality as Carrighinnis Goes Down FIghting

The rising on Carrighinnis has failed and now we know why.
We are starting to see a pattern of Ahernric indiscretion in the field--especially when it comes to the National Ahernric Police Service. Recall how they have barged into the properties of Highlanders to deprive them of the means of self-defense, and pulverized simple peaceful shepherds for being unable to pay extortionate Ahernric tithes. And remember how the ROA killed innocent civilians in Fiona with indiscriminate artillery fire? We think you've gotten the idea.

Now, NAPS thugs have continued with what is appearing to be business as usual. Even still, it is shocking how there are more than one reports of Ahernric Police brutality and bloodlust. In the city of Carrighinnis itself, it appears that these thugs have, more than once, thrown volleys of grenades through houses where resistance was suspected, killing and maiming innocents inside. It is possible that NAPS has also treated Atheists and Agnostics harshly, but we are looking for further information. GIven the state of the lowland theocracy, it is plausible.

The people of Carrighinnis have fought well against Ahernric tyranny, and the reprisals thrown upon them by the Ahernry are deplorable. Ahern Chulainn NaAchill seems obliviously fanatical about the course of events, yet we can only hope that those who have had life and liberty stolen from them have not suffered in vain; including Carrighinnis. We can only hope that someone in the lowlands will see the error of their ways.

"Everything Fine" Says Hegemon Wessich

Image
Hegemon Thomas Wessich before giving a press conference earlier today

Hegemon Wessich of Atnaia took to the stand in Purth-Graje earlier today to discuss the ongoing ticking flu crisis. "I know things look grim, I encourage all Atnaians to remain calm and continue to report all cases of sickness and reanimation to the proper authorities" said Hegemon Wessich, before coughing several times into his sleeve, "In particular, I urge the residents of hard hit areas such as Kaldwasser and the Crombej Prefecture to stay calm, keep indoors, and dispatch of any walking corpses as quickly as possible. Remember, just because it used to be your father doesn't mean it won't kill you! Aim for the head and don't wait for them to get close, I hear they have a mean sprint to 'em". It was at this time that the Hegemon's words were drowned out by a second fit of coughing.

Hegemon Wessich went on to discuss the importance of protective hygienic measures, security checkpoints, and stockpiling ammunition, making particular note to avoid flamethrowers and heavier firearms, saying "Even though that sick flamethrower may look like it'll do the job, it's really just a recipe for a charred house. We don't want our cities looking like San Javier", He paused to wipe a mix of blood and saliva from his lips, "Besides, it's far too expensive anyway. Best to stick it out with something small."

Following this, the Hegemon collapsed from the stand and was assisted off the stage by several aides.
