All across Middle Han was drown in sorrow and sadness tears. His family has been informed about the tragedy and the community is mourning with their loss...

And now, we are facing with terrorism of the world out there... although it's such a tremendous pain that we have to endure, especially to the Deputy Minister's family, we can not afford softness now. Our nation will not tolerate or negotiate with any terrorist activities..."- as Spokeperson of the Government Leniona Barleny Trang Dinh stated on the 21st.

Though the Government of Prime Minister Helen Morninglucius Linh Nguyen was critisized for: incapable of protecting their officers, having concealing the information on purpose and delaying the investigation. The Prime Minister herself has publicly apologized for it, and even the Emperor has written a letter himself to the Deputy Minister's family to ease their pain.

At 7:00 am this morning in the Shining Towel- the Capitol of The Government of The Empire of Middle Han, the Prime Minister has stated that she will cooperate with Moukere's forces to wipe out this terrorist group.

Further information is confidential, but we've found out that Masquess of the Southern Namsu province- one of the "Four Great Heroes"- Lord Benjamin Tan Tung Thien has been assgined to be the representative of Middle Han's force to cooperate with Moukere's people.

DARNA ANNOUNCES SANCTIONS ON BHUMIDOL

In its first move on regional issues since the elections, Dorias' new government enacted sanctions on Bhumhalese key officials Friday. Dihn Si Rehford, head of the Darna Finance and Economic Affairs Committee, announced the final approval of the new sanctions in a press conference.

"These [sanctions] represent a strong stance against the actions taken by the Bhumhalese government in recent months, and make it very clear that the regional community will not tolerate such atrocities," Si Rehford said.

The sanctions include freezing of Oster assets of Bhumhalese government officials and clergymen, and prohibiting Oster corporations from doing business with them. Among Bhumhalese individuals in the sanction list are members of the Bhumidol cabinet, and the Heads of the Bhumhalese Internal Security Forces.

Congress Issues Renewed Sanctions Against Bhumidol

Following numerous reports coming out of Bhumidol concerning horrific humanitarian abuses, Congress has re-issued sanctions against the Bhumalese nation: an effort to bolster the already present sanctions of several Coalition nations. Congress cited a growing concern that Bhumidol has failed to stabilize since mid-2015, whereupon Vancouvian Special Forces briefly occupied and conducted guerilla operations against Bhumidol in an effort to help overthrow the corrupt Bhumalese government. Although terms were signed at the end of the conflict to the aim of establishing a fair, democratic, and benevolent government, it appears Bhumidol has faltered back to their old ways, with several human rights abuses taking place over the past years.

The Vancouvian sanctions are mostly symbolic; Vancouvians were already wary of Bhumidol since the conflict two years ago, and little business nor travel is conducted between the two nations. In a poll conducted by VNN, 74% of Vancouvians are supportive of the renewed sanctions.

The Presidium of the Politburo expressed support for Areguelista's Socialist candidate Marina Lacasa, who remained the leading choice among voters, based on the recent poll taken by Areguelista 24. While the government has taken a more cautious policy with its neighbor, especially after Areguelista pursued closer relations with Polar Svalbard, a state known to have cold relations with the People's Democratic Republic of Velah, the Presidium is hopeful that with the victory of Lacasa, the two countries may find room to work together and forge closer relations.

Damage of SHOCK's Last Attack Revealed

Image
One of the worst-off streets

Only today has it become safe for our reporters and photographers to leave our studio and begin observing the area. SHOCK attacked Sığınağı arazi in large numbers, reducing houses and businesses to rubble. The estimated death toll is just over 2000. This is by far the worst crisis that Karahar has faced. As soon as the situation was cleared and it was legal to go outside the streets were filled with crying families who had lost their homes and businesses. All of the KMM reserves have been called into service and they are patrolling the streets. Nakhu Khal has arrived back, only to find that his house had been sorrounded and destroyed. He would have certainly died if he hadn't fled. He continued to control the military from a boat that was in international waters.
This time SHOCK is in for it. I have placed in a curfew and the KMM will search every house for guns. Be warned terrorists, if you do not declare a gun and we find it you will be deported or jailed for life. Sadly SHOCK still control some of Sığınağı arazi and are fighting fiercely to defend it. There are an estimated three hundred people that are in the area. It is presumed that they have taken them as hostages. We will do as much as we can to free those three hundred people.
-Nakhu Khal

SHOCK do still own some of Sığınağı arazi and are fighting to keep control of it. They have an estimated one hundred troops holding the three hundred civilians. SHOCK are using the civilians as a meat shield so that the KMM cannot bomb the SHOCK held territory. Currently there is a firefight on Tulag Street which is expected to become worse and worse. There are plans to send in some H-78 (horse) light tanks. Nakhu Khal is requesting aid from any country who can deliver it. SHOCK's number of troops has dropped significantly though. It is expected that the next attack will be on the nomads.
They came for my house in the middle of the night. I woke up to gunshots and windows breaking. I told my family to climb out the window and they did so. We crept along the street, falling over in the pitch black. The street lights had been destroyed. We had to hide in a bush as some rioters came past. Most of them left except for one who was about to set the bush on fire. I jumped out and tackled the rioter and put my hands over his mouth. I told Lumkup to make a gag and he did. We tied him up and took his pistol. We kept on walking until we could no longer walk. We all stopped and slept on the sandy plains, far away from Sığınağı arazi. We were picked up by nomads the next day. I will never forget that adventure.

Bhumidol: Journalists Have Disappeared And An Unexpected Challenger Arises
Rajadhani, Bhumidol
The unfolding revolution in the politically intransigent country of Bhumidol has ironically been shrouded in a degree of mystery since the nation's Supreme Court lifted media censorship controls two weeks ago. As the nation has arrived at the heat of its revolution, a consortium of nations across the region have dogpiled on the authoritarian Bodhai Regime for its Stalinist tendencies. This has led to certain shadowy members of the ruling National Peace & Progress Party to find news ways to silence media - oftentimes with deadly consequences.
In the past week, 11 journalists and reporters, including 3 international journalists, have 'disappeared' in the country. The body of one journalist was pulled out of the Brahmada River by a farmer in Uttar Brahmada yesterday, at which the Bodhai Regime denied any wrongdoing, blaming the reporter for his close association to the Bhumhalese Underworld as likely being a key factor in his murder.
Across the nation, a deep sense of fear and urgency has clutched some of the most premier bearers of free speech, making some news organizations rethink reporting about the crimes of the Bodhai government, and in some cases silencing their voice altogether.
In the midst of this rising fear, an unlikely challenger to the Bodhai Regime has stepped forward, making her first appearance at a rally at Sri Manimegalai Megatemple in Amravarti, she spoke to an overfilled stadium crowd flowing nearly 3 blocks beyond the Mega Temple.
Rokhani Yagharu, who became the new leader of the Green Party of Bhumidol following the murder of it's previous president, called on, "all the people of Bhumidol..., [to form] a million-man march on Maharaja Fareway", the avenue on which the vast majority of the country's national level administration occurs.

Dr. Yagharu has also announced her intention to withdraw from her party's coalition with the National Peace & Progress Party, citing, "unprincipled hostilities that have severely divided the two parties". Her party is expected to vote as a block tomorrow morning to pass a vote of no confidence in parliament to disolve the current government.

Arnton International Airport opens to commercial airliners!
Arnton, Ainslie
Yesterday, the Arnton Airport Authority began the process of establishing international commercial flights. This is in the past was almost unheard of. Before this, only the national airliner could fly in and out of Arnton. This now opens up Ainslie to The Western Isles. Four nations currently have established routes with us:
  • Athara Magarat
  • Gudao
  • Norstham.
  • Dragao Do Mar
We look forward to more nations initiating routes with us.

FM Gifford and APM Blackmore adds Ainslie to the list of nations condemning Bhumidol's government
Hauton, Ainslie
"The authoritarian and illegitimate government of Bhumidol has committed several human rights abuses and demonstrated an alarming level of ignorance to their own nation, and where it is heading", Gifford stated.
"The government of the Unified Electorates of Ainslie officially condemns Bhumidol based on what our Foreign Minister has just said. We also sanction the Jayalithi Bodhai, her cabinet, and high ranking members of the National Buddhist Sangha of Bhumidol. as a result of this. We will continue to support the peaceful actions of protestors in Bhumidol, and look forward to the possibility of a new and better government for the people of Bhumidol", Blackmore added.

Kenzai Finally Takes A Break.
Morrisett, Ainslie
Sources suggest to us that Prime Minister Kenzai is taking some leave to relax before foreign leaders and ministers land in Arnton to meet with him and talk about issues of mutual importance. He was pictured sitting on a deck chair spending time with his family near the lake. Jane Blackmore, the deputy PM has been elevated into the position of Acting Prime Minister until Kenzai is back in his office.

Our excellent and dear comrade, Brandon Snow has passed away at the age of 71 years old. The Presidum of the Politburo has confirmed that the Chairman of the Central Committee and Supreme Commander of the Velahi People's Army has died 3:42am today, after he has suffered a third heart attack.

The news was received to such sadness of the country, not seen since the passing of his father in 1985. The hundreds of thousands of mourning men and women, young and old Velahi have flocked to the capital, outside the National Workers' Hospital after hearing whispers of the death of the Chairman, to offer the flowers and express their tremendous grief with the untimely death of our Chairman.

Born in 1945 as the son of Comrade Patrick Snow, the successor and dutiful son-in-law of revolutionary father Victor Caligan, Comrade Snow inherited the noble cause of the Velahi Workers' Party and the leadership of the Velahi state. He was a great revolutionary, the most ideal successor to his grand father and father, who led the People's Democratic Republic through more than 30 years of good and successful leadership and guidance.

Comrade Snow, proved to be a most skillful leader and guide who led the people to recover from the uncertain path of reforms and onto the way of steady self-reliant economic growth. With him gone, we shall commit to the Presidium of the Politburo for leadership until his successor is chosen.

The privileged Keomorans will be the first citizens to know this wonder of the Marian navy. The ship captain, Chico Cézar will be receiving the visitors with his officers staff. Other fifteen countries are enclosed in the tour.

"It's a honor to us to show our material pride!" said the sailor apprentice, Antônio Bezerra "My mates are apprehensive to see if there will be some famous Keomoran visiting our ship, i heard about even their empress could appear here! But anyway, our main objective are to make a good job and demonstrate the Marian dedication and traditions".

"I'm particularly enjoying this" said Chico Cézar, the captain "The travel is going very well, and Kevora is a extraordinary city. Later the ship crew will be able to visit it and know some tourist attractions, but i expect to depart in the Tuesday morning straight to Watper city, in Ipland".

Covonant to enact sanction against Bhumidol

Image

With increase reports of the Bhumalese government continued failure to address instance of human rights abuses and inability to crackdown on trafficking of persons in the country, the Foreign Ministry on its website this morning as announced sanctions that are to be placed with immediate effect.

The Union of Covonant Government is appalled at the current state of affairs in Bhumidol. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs having exhausted all diplomatic avenues to reach a common grounds with the Bhumalese government, is charged to stand by the international community and countries that are defenders of human rights across the Isles, with permission from the Consul. Lays out sanctions towards Bhumidol to be in place immediately.

The sanctions outlined by the Foreign Ministry website includes:

Freezing of Covonantian assets of Bhumhalese government officials and clergymen.
Prohibiting Covonantian companies from doing business with Bhumalese citizens.
Prohibiting travel between both countries (Indefinitely)

*The Minister of Foreign Affairs was not available to answer questions from the CBC.

Bhumidol Declares Partial Bank Holiday with Capital Paralyzed by Protests

09:28 - The Bhumhalese Federal Reserve Bank President, Tyapamee Li, declared that a bank holiday, starting at noon today, would be in effect across Bhumidol citing uncertainty caused by the eruption of anti-government protests across the capital.

Though the move has caught markets across the region by suprise, many businesses within the country feel that the break is much needed, after a crowd of over 100,000 protestors blocked all evening rush hour traffic along Maharaja Street which is considered to be the financial center of the nation yesterday.

Image
Protestors along Maharaja Street

Ganaraja Bodhai, the nation's embattled leader, which many critics have labeled as a 'closet Stalinist', expressed her, "dismay at the Federal Bank President's... lack of faith in the government's ability to maintain law and order". Meanwhile, international media reports pouring out of the country have shown that the government has started to violently supress members of the press and opposition, on top of its killing spree of trafficked peoples, indicating that the government is intentionally propogating a bloody conflict within its borders.

The Bodhai Administration earlier today suspended parliament on the grounds that the government may be under threat from a terrorist attack from Black Chakra, effectively allowing the ruling party to prevent a vote of no-confidence against the government.

When the CBC tried to contact the Covonantian Foreign Ministry, the Permanent Secretary Mrs. Likalia Cassia expressed that the situation will be monitored and an announcement made at the appropriate time. The Permanent Secretary in the Foreign Ministry made the remarks yesterday before sanctions were announced this morning. Mrs. Cassia also expressed that Covonant will be looking towards the CU to enact strict sanctions against the country.

We are looking to enact sanctions towards the country very soon, sooner that many might expect. With these grave reports of suppressing press freedom and continued disregard for human rights, we have to respond. The Foreign Minister expressed that Covonant will be looking to implore our allies and members of the CU to join us in sanctioning the government. They must understand that the international community does not support their actions.

As protesting intensifies across Bhumidol, economists are worried that the slowing Bhumhalese economy, which is showing early signs of capital flight, may soon give way to a deep recession.

Prime Minister Marl; Consul express sadness following tragic death of Covonantian Ambassador

The Diplomatic Corp community and Covonantians at large are mourning the unfortunate tragic death of Covonantian Ambassador to Moukere Mrs. Amanda Antwert. It is reported that Mrs. Antwert was a guest on the Moukeri president plane that met its demise after being shot at by local terrorist. Among the deceased are other diplomats from foreign countries and two Covonantian Praetorian Guards who were escorts of Mrs. Antwert.

In the Consul yesterday afternoon were shows of grief as both house came together to express their sadness at the tragedy. Prime Minister Marl in his address to the Consul expressed his admiration of Mrs. Antwert and her love for her country.

We have truly lost a stalwart representative of the Union. Ambassador Antwert showcased bravery in a mission that many others would shy from. When I was asked who I would choose to represent my government in Moukere, the only individual that came to mind was Amanda. She had a love for Moukere and its peoples, and she genuinely wanted to see that state develop. She was instrumental in many projects of infrastructural and sustainable development that Covonant embarked on in the country, and we are all sadden by her tragic pass. I want to express my heartfelt condolences to her daughter Abigail who is only 16 and I heard had a wonderful relationship with her mother who was adamant that her daughter be returned to Covonant following the increased violence in Moukere. To her husband Mikael, the Union weeps with you and you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Foreign Minister Tilonius Vesa also expressed sadness at the event and called for thorough investigation by the Moukeri force pledging assistance from the Covonantian Embassy in Moukere.

I am sadden by the news of our own being killed while on a mission to extend our hands of diplomacy. We should not let this incident cause us to be bitter towards the Moukeris but to extend our relations even more. I am calling on the Moukere government and local forces to investigate this matter thoroughly and Covonant is willing and ready to lend assistance in that venture.

Many civil society groups such as Action Covonant is calling for the resignation of the Foreign Minister, citing that he had first hand knowledge of increased violence in the country that could pose threats to Covonantian lives.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs should do the honourable thing and resign. He had first hand account of increased violence and to add insult to injury the now deceased Ambassador Antwert had literally begged the government to intervene in the Moukere matter as she had tangible data to show that it was a situation waiting to explode. The Minister should resign for his inability to act, to intervene in a situation that could have saved the life of Covonantians abroad.
(Cynthia Barnswell, Action Covonant President)

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=337003&p=30875865&hilit=Covonant+ambassador+to+Moukere#p30875865 (News post with Ambassador calling for Covonant assistance)

Minister of Defense Batiatus Sula has weighed in on the discussion and has assured that the tragic event will be addressed.

We can't just let it happen and not respond, obviously, something has to be done. I am not sure if it is our place to intervene. I believe the international community should respond, however we are not going to sit and wait on the international community, already three Covonantians are dead. We already have Covonantian peacekeeping forces on the island but we recognise that that is not enough.

Minister Sula expressed that in coming days Covonant is expected to outline its plan to assist Moukere with its increase in violence.

I am expected to visit the country in a few weeks to meet with heads of the country's military and security forces, where we will have to let them know that its not business as usual, we have to deal with this matter as it is already causing tensions within the international community

When asked whether Covonant will place military efforts towards the country, Minister Sula had this to say.

I am not sure whether that is an immediate option, however it is not an option we won't explore. I would first have to hear the plans from the Moukeris and see how best we can fit into it. But Covonant will play a role in this. I believe it is in our interest and our national security interest as well.

A new Covonantian Ambassador to Moukere is expected to be named early next week.

The body of the late Amanda Antwert is expected to arrive in the Union on Tuesday.

Intelligence Community break silence on Kumari of Coventry

Image
Intelligence and Data Centre Headquarters

The Intelligence and Data Centre (IDC) is today breaking its silence on the incident involving the Kumari of Coventry declaring religious war. Head of the IDC Lucius Frith expresses that such rhetoric is alarming and will not be taken lightly.

We were shocked at the Kumari of Coventry declaration of a religious war, but we were more shocked that the Kumari was bold enough to declare it. A Kumari is very influential to its followers but are seen to be very reclusive at times and tend to be very religious and not outspoken

Image
Kumari of Coventry

Mr. Frith expressed that the IDC will maintain its eyes and ears on the Kumari and other followers of the Kumari and members of Khas-Kirati religious groups.

We are being very vigilante. We are constantly monitoring the Kumari of Coventry, and the Kumari of Jueverna and other cities with large followers of the Khas-Kirati religious traditions. We are not trying to be prejudice against any religion, but as it stand a few members within the community are hoping to cause mayhem in Covonant and we can't allow that to happen.

Many are however arguing that the policies of the IDC towards Khas-Kiriti descended people will lead to discrimination and prejudice towards the group. Opposition spokesman on Cultural Affairs Gary Ebo expressed that he forsees grave levels of increased discrimination towards these groups and their religious traditions.

The root the IDC is taking it going to lead to crackdown on innocent Covonantian citizens who may be of Khas-Kirati ancestry. We already live in a prejudicial society where the media is not reporting on the abuse that these people face not just by ordinary citizens but by the government, and we wonder why we are seeing increases in terrorism on Covonantian soil. I would implore the IDC to not make this policy prejudicial as they say they won't but the statement from the IDC director says otherwise.

Army Success Against Highland Insurgents

Image
Royal Owinn Army troops outside the rebel town of Fiona.

Several days have passed since the National Ahernric Police Service regrouped away from the insurgent city of Damhford. Although there was little action, the Royal Owinn Army knew that Highland fighters were training, and potentially trying to advance into Ahernric territory. With its assets being brought to bear, the Royal Owinn Army struck out against the rebels in two main areas.

The first area of focus was in the vicinity of, and including the town of Fiona. Fiona is located to the northwest of Damhford near the edge of the lowlands and highlands. A unit from the 5th Infantry Division, supported by artillery, advanced against a known insurgent encampment by the town. Reports from the 5th Infantry Division claim that the Highland fighters were taken by surprise in the assault and particularly by the artillery which targeted rebel positions. After a brief firefight, Owinn soldiers took several prisoners.

The Royal Owinn Army has also quelled violence on Carrighinnis island. Extremist sympathizers recently stormed government facilities violently, and even opened fire at Royal Owinn Navy personnel at base Carrighinnis. Elements of the 70th Army Police Battalion, along with National Ahernric Police and Navy personnel have now struck at rebel hot zones. This task force struck at two separate locations. The Army Police and Naval personnel struck at the gathering point for an imminent armed rebellion on the isle. As they came under fire, the government forces responded with superior firepower and tactics, overcoming the defenders. At the same time the Ahernric Police prosecuted a local news office in the town, home to the "Rockisland Inquirer," which incited the Highland sympathizers to the recent violence in Carrighinnis.

Fiona Bombarded, Civilians Injured and Killed!

Image
The town center and its people were pummeled by Ahernric artillery.

Fiona residents were caught in a deadly bombardment from Royal Owinn Army artillery. We would call it "indiscriminate," although that would imply that there were legitimate targets at all in the town. There were not, as brave fighters were already engaging lowland troops away from Fiona. Many families from the town were attempting to evacuate Fiona, and were just getting underway when the shells came down.

A mother of two, Helena Cobh, was observed wailing over the bodies of her fifteen year old son Bersi and husband Evan--both had been brutally killed by a nearby shell impact. Helena's eleven year old daughter Ingrid could be seen shaking and teary-eyed. Neither are these the only victims. As the narrow roads were congested with civilians on foot or in cars trying to get away, the "effectiveness" of the shells was even more gruesome. In some cases rubble from damaged buildings, craters, and burning vehicles blocked off escape routes for other vehicles, which kept them boxed within the target area.

Those taking shelter in buildings were not guaranteed safety. Among various homes and businesses destroyed, "The Treebender" was heavily damaged. The Treebender is, or was, a restaurant-bar-store conglomeration which in many was served as the life of the town. Many people in crowds attempting to gather supplies were showered with debris, with saddening casualties.

We cannot possibly comprehend why this criminal bombardment took place. Clearly the people of the town did not intend to fight, but were fleeing from the advancing lowlanders--for good reason. If this shows what the lowlanders are. Many can be seen taking up arms where before they may not have, to make sure that the lowlanders do not do the same to their loved ones and home.

I'll place my knapsack on my back,
My rifle on my shoulder,
I'll march away to defend my home
And kill some lowland soldiers!
I'll kill some lowland soldiers,
March on down to defend my home
And kill some lowland soldiers!

Before we shall ever bow our head,
Before the tyrants harm us,
I'll give my all to the Highland cause
And die in the Highland army!
And die in the Highland army,
I'll give my all to the Highland cause
And die in the Highland army!

VELAHI CENTRAL NEWS AGENCY

February 25, 2017

Image

News of the death of our excellent and dear Comrade Brandon Snow has continued to shock and cause sadness to the people of Velah. The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party and paramount leader of the People's Democratic Republic of Velah was pronounced dead by his doctors at 3:42am today, after suffering from a third heart attack. Doctors administered emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation and injected with vasopressin but to no avail.

Police authorities now report that the gathered crowd outside of the National Workers' Hospital in Caligangrad have ballooned to 500,000 people, causing other patients with minor medical conditions to be redirected to other hospitals. The number is expected to continue to rise after the body of Comrade Snow is transferred for the appropriate display, details of which have yet to be released.

The Presidium of the Politburo has called for an orderly show of respect and remembrance for the former Chairman, while ordering the deployment of an additional 5,000 national police personnel within the immediate area of the National Workers' Hospital to bolster security. The Presidium, after paying their respects to Comrade Snow, met at an emergency meeting earlier today at 6:00am to discuss transition plans. A problem is that the present Constitution did not specify which powers of the Chairman of the Central Committee may be exercised by his deputies in the event of his incapacity or death.

The National Defense Commission has placed the entire Velahi People's Army on alert. While no definite security threat has been identified by the party, the move is by the NDC is to ensure the safety of the People's Democratic Republic, especially in these dark times.

Meanwhile, the Presidium has received words of support and condolences from other world leaders, with more expected in the days to come

Supreme Court Seizes Control Over Military and Police, Removing Ganaraja Bodhai from Power

08:00 - Late last night, the Supreme Court, together with the Rajyadharmam Preservation Committee, unanimously voted to decapacitate the NPP government led by Ganaraja Jayalithi Bodhai. Chief Justice Bodhisinha issued warrants for the arrest of the Ganaraja and her cabinet on a variety of charges ranging from treason to murder. The former-Ganaraja Bodhai could possibly face a life sentence for what the justice described as, "flagrant abuse of power... and gross mismanagement of even to most basic administrative instruments of the national government".

Meanwhile, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court came on state television early in the morning in his first public appearance since the fall of the Chavam Regime, announcing the establishment of a transitional council to oversee the transition of the government and constitution to a form that, "reflects the deepest desires of the Bhumhalese populace", which over the past month have been protesting a spiraling human trafficking crisis spearheaded by the national government. The justice stated that the Rajya Sabha and Office of the Ganaraja would remain suspended for the next two weeks, while fresh elections are called to fill the highest seats of power in the country.

While appearing on state television, the Chief Justice said that the main goal of the transitional council will be to, "provide undisrupted administration over the nation, to ensure social and economic life in the nation can remain undistrubed, so that the country undergoes a peaceful, and predictable transition to a more democratic and transparent structure". So far, the transitional authority has made good on their part in upholding orderliness, sanctioning a 48-hour period of martial law over the entirety of Bhumidol to give political parties, "sufficient time to organize peaceful election campaigns... devoid of the violence seen over the past several weeks".

"All in all, we want the international community to know that their business and people are safe and sound in Bhumidol", said Chief Justice Bodhisinha. "We are a nation that prides itself in peace, harmony, and good organization. Everyone will come to see that even in times of change, our nation remains remarkably stable".

The RPC additionally voted to ban the participation of the National Peace & Progress Party indefinitely, citing, "concerns that the party may be directly influenced by former high ranking officials from the Chavam era". Political spectators are expecting the Green Party to win by large margins in the national elections, and for the Communist Party to make meager gains as well.

The President Addresses Fiona Bombardment

Image
President Tadhg Dúney spoke outside in downtown Damhford.

This morning Tadhg Dúney spoke about Fiona, the town which just yesterday suffered under a terrible Owinn Army barrage. The Highland Voice covered the extent of the damage and carnage in its last issue, and now the President has weighed in. He gave the following speech:

Dear men and women of the Highland Republic,

I am greatly saddened, as I learn that our relations in the town of Fiona came under assault by lowland artillery yesterday. I am sure that you aware of this gruesome incident. As I understand it, the brave men and women who were taking up arms in that area were not in the town. They were attempting to fend off the Royal Owinn Army troops who were attacking them, outside of Fiona.

Now I understand the passions which now have flared up since; I see proud men right there who have just joined to fight for the Highland cause and have their arms. I cannot begin to see fault with their devotion. I thank them and every man and woman who does so, that we can maintain our sovereignty. However in this time of excitement and determination I must issue some caution.

In the declaration of our Republic, which I delivered, it says the following: "we wish that no one who serves that cause will dishonour it by cowardice, inhumanity, or rapine." I am referring to the last two terms--surely our brave defenders will not tend towards cowardice. Rapine is "violent seizure of one's property." So in this time of outrage, do not endeavor to harm the regular people of the lowlands with raiding and retaliation.

Fight their soldiers, throw them all back as they come, I say! But do not fight their civilians. We must defend our homeland rightfully, and that is all. Thank you, and may these new recruits serve our Republic with steadfast hearts in this our finest hour!

NaAchill: Artillery Strike on Fiona Was Not Intentional

Image
The Ahern presented the initial ROA report on the incident.

Yesterday Royal Owinn Army, Navy, and National Ahernric Police Service personnel worked together in their first counteroffensive against the Highland Republican forces, which took place both in the Highlands as well as Carrighinnis island. Rebel encampments and outposts were struck, and the Ahernric forces returned fire; numerous arrests and captures were made. However the action on Carrighinnis is largely overshadowed by an incident which occurred in the Highlands themselves. As Army soldiers engaged a group of insurgents outside of the town of Fiona, they called for artillery support. The artillery shot at the Highland fighters as intended, however they shifted fire and shells started to fall on the town itself. Many inhabitants appear to have been trying to evacuate due to the firefight nearby.

Ahern Chulainn NaAchill assures that the Royal Owinn Army will begin a full, official inquiry into the incident shortly. The Army Police Investigative Detachment (APID), he says, is already forming a team to head the inquiry. The Ahern also discussed the ROA's preliminary report, explaining why the guns shifted their fire onto the town and its inhabitants.

He cites "an error with the new firing solution for the battery, which was compounded by a communications issue." Thus far it is unclear whether the "communications issue" was a matter of technical malfunction, or a verbal mistake over the unit's communications. An error in the firing solution could mean that at some point the coordinates for where to shoot were altered, or a forward observer reported incorrectly. NaAchill said that regardless of such details, "it was unintentional, and if there is criminal intent behind this terribly unfortunate accident, then the responsible party or parties will be severely punished." The Termon Telegraph will be following the APID's efforts closely, and any judicial action which may take place.

Gifford questioned about Shanowinn
Arnton, Ainslie
After showing great interest in the topic, Gifford finally answers questions about The war in Shanowinn.

As Kenzai is still on leave, Foreign Minister Eleane Gifford is quickly becoming a favourite of the Ainslie Press Club. Today she was incredibly open, and not just honest about why the Deputy PM was not at the conference.

"Blackmore would if she could actually climb over mountains of paper. I heard she has been using the back door due to this. Andrew [Kenzai] would be horrified to see that."

Kenzai later tweeted today, "I guess I shouldn't have been watching the news today, but I guess that's the downside of being PM."

As there was not much to talk about, Gifford answered questions from the reporters.

"How is AMOL going?"
"Well, we haven't had an AMOL day yet, so I can't speak for anything. Especially since I'm the foreign affairs minister."

"What are your thoughts on the political conduct laws which are going through parliament"
"It's a pretty young bill, and therefore I'd rather not comment on it"

"In your perspective, how is the war in Shanowinn going?"
Gifford paused.

I wasn't sure if it was in my place to ask that question, but then I remembered that it is Ainslie and they simply had to reply to our questions.

"This is my personal opinion, not necessarily the intended actions or opinion of our ministry. If you'd like me to be honest with you, I will be now."

"The lowland government is further incorporating religion into their state and the highland government is offended by it. My question to them is Why wouldn't they be? The Ahern is starting to use force which is completely unnecessary and while we agree that the highlanders shouldn't be marching into the capital or something, there’s a point of compromise. I am planning to go to Shanowinn soon to talk to their government about the situation. We will then take an opinion directly and take action on it."

"Then what do you recommend, Ms Gifford", one of the reporters then replied.

“At this point, we recommend that the Ahern should grant the Highlanders autonomy. We believe that if other nations saw the situation as we do, the Ahern would be seeing some condemnations from foreign governments. I'm not ruling out condemnations and sanctions if they do not respond to this."

And with that, Gifford stepped away from her lectern and wandered back down the hallway immediately behind her.

T20 HITSIX returns tomorrow!
Arnton, Ainslie
The lights at the ACG are being tested and the pitch is being monitored. It is finally time for the next FIS T20 HITSIX Comp, which starts tomorrow. Will Noronica win again? Or will an underdog take the title. Over 20 teams from all around the Isles will descend on Arnton tomorrow to play the great game.

Our Arnton Thunder look in good form, after their shocking loss to Borderton last season. Debutons, Rathane Sixers appear to be a dangerous team and we look forward to their participation as well.

What will this season hold? We’ll have to wait for the first games tomorrow.

Today is the last day of autumn, and as we head into spring temperatures will warm up. We request Ahnslens to prepare bushfire survival plans, even if they are in urban areas as fires can be sudden and unpredictable.

Transitional Council Working to Stabilize Markets, Rescue Victims of Human Trafficking, and Much More

13:38 - Just over 24 hours from taking control of the government, the transitional council already appears to be breaking under a burgeoning load of urgent matters to address.

Early this morning, the RSE SENSEX declined 67.3%, confirming the worst fears of foreign investors and the RBB (Reserve Bank of Bhumidol) of a deep recession instigated by regional sanctions on the Bhumhalese economy. "Economic sanctions from Polar Svalbard and Covonant have cast a great degree of uncertaintly over the ability of Bhumhalese firms to reasonably operate without the interference of international sanctions", a report from the NERC (National Economic Research Center) read. Chief Justice Bodhisinha, currently the head of the transitional council along with the other 14 justices of the Supreme Court has implored the governments of Polar Svalbard and Covonant to lift sanctions on Bhumhalese individuals and private firms, stating that the, "instability from economic recession will... [significantly hinder] a peaceful atmosphere", for what may be the first fair election in the nation's history.

At around noon, the transitional council enacted a General State of Emergency across Eastern Bhumidol and the capital region, citing, "numerous uncounted for civilians potentially suffering in... a socially engineered humanitarian crisis". The statement served as the first ever from the Bhumhalese government acknowledging the existence of trafficked peoples in the country along with their gross mistreatment and widespread casualties. In the afternoon sriteesam, Chief Justice Bodhisinha is expected to debrief the media and international community on the establishment of a paramilitary task force to search for and rescue abducted peoples from so-called 'slave-warehouses', 'red rooms', along with secret brothels and casinos. The transitional council admitted that over 100,000 abducted peoples may be living in such conditions, being subject to denial of basic amnenities, a wide range of physical, emotional, and sexual abuses, and death.

The transitional council has stated its desire to refrain from trying citizens accused of holding trafficked people, out of fear that doing so will spur mass killings of such victims. "Our primary goal is to save these people, and to give them the opportunity to live a full, free life", Justice Archana, a member of the transitional council told RGT. "Turning this into a matter of accusing civilians of wrong-doing might make matters far worse".

Crackdown on Rebellious Activity Following Bomb in Carrighinnis

Image
Overhead view of the blast zone.

Shortly before or after midnight this morning, February 27th, it was reported that an explosion shook the town of Carrighinnis. Three suites within the row were heavily damaged, while adjacent establishments received varying degrees of lesser damage. The blast shattered nearby windows and forced debris out onto the street, which was then promptly blocked off by local responders. The National Ahernric Police Force followed.

The target was the former base for the periodical "Rockisland Inquirer," which authorities shut down just recently for their part in inciting rebellion and violence. The Ahern-loyal Office of Faith Community then assumed control of the connected suites, for use as a branch office on Carrighinnis. The Highland Republic extremist sympathizers on Carrighinnis are responsible for this destruction. The bomb was detonated as revenge for the unintentional, accidental Royal Owinn Army barrage on the Highland town of Fiona. Due to the fact that the bomb exploded around midnight, no one was inside the branch office, and thus none of the civilian workers were killed or injured. However one nearby innocent civilian was killed by shrapnel, and two others were injured.

One couple, who were walking back home from a night on the town, rushed around the corner to the scene. They report that a vehicle screeched to a halt outside the bombed building. Allegedly two masked suspects exited the vehicle, then fastened a piece of paper and a tan and blue plaid scarf to one of the walls. Along with this they also fastened a Highland Republic flag with a red bar on it, the "military" or "at war" variant, which is indicative of not just political resistance but armed Highland insurgence and terrorism. The suspects then drove off; authorities later seized both items. The paper charged that the CRF, or "Carrighinnis Resistance Force," is taking responsibility for the bombing, supports the Highland Republic, and "denounces the rise of Ahernric aggression and oppression on Carrighinnis."

By the late morning there were various reports of people wearing plaid scarves at their hip as they walked in the streets. The scarves appear to be the same as or similar to the one the terrorists placed at the blast site. The authorities have apprehended a number of these suspects and sympathizers. In addition to the scarves, one group displayed an "at war" Highland Republic flag to a passing NAPS convoy and attacked it with an improvised explosive device. The National Police were forced to respond decisively, leaving three of the attackers dead. The others retreated.

In that convoy was Captain Korey Baldan, who is in charge of the current NAPS force in Carrighinnis. He explained that as a result of the attack and the connection of the symbols to violent insurrection, all Highland Republic flags and plaid scarves will be banned and appropriately prosecuted on Carrighinnis.

"Anyone with these scarves and anyone with a Highland Republic state flag, or depiction of one, will be arrested and investigated on the grounds of treason and aiding and abetting enemies of the Ahernry. If it is the so-called "at war" or "military" variant of the extremist flag, then it will be taken as admittance of enrollment in armed forces of the Highlands, and so perpetrators will be treated as prisoners of war. If they resist or make violence then authorities will be forced to respond in a lethal manner.

Revenge Begins against Huyti Cockroaches

Moukeri National Guards in Himora

At the command of Colonel Abakoto the National Anti-Banditry Division, the national military internal affairs division of moukere, were deployed against Huyti terrorists in Himora. The Huytis were responsible for the death of beloved president Khalfani, and soon faced retribution from the heroic Koto guards. At least three hundred terrorists were detained, with several casualties on both sides as the terrorists fought back.

The Huytis have long tried to destabilise our nation. In history, it was the who began the Guinea-Vertaquein Genocide when our nation was but a young and unstable one. They have resisted the collective land reforms, trying to keep their economic hegemony that has strangled the Koto people for many a year. Together in unity we tried to grow, but they resisted. These terrorists are just another example. Any Huyti who wish to serve their nation should register at the Milice des volontaires du peuple, a group of like minded patriots that hold true to the dedicated nation that our forefather Afram Kwame dreamt of.

Colonel Abakoto made a speech to the Comité d'Urgence pour la Défense Nationale. "These Inyenzi shall be crushed beneath our feet. They are but cockroaches. We are the Lions of Moukere. The proud people. The upright people. Our revolution is above all the petty greed of the Huytis. We must fight to safeguard it. La révolution avant tout! Down with the Inyezi!"

We hope that all will be safe in this time, and wish for a speedy resolution to the insurgency.
