Shanowinn To Help In Search For Airline

A Battle class corvette exiting RON Carrighinnis

Yesterday the Ahern of Shanowinn, Chulainn NaAchill, made a brief statement that Shanowinn has pledged to help the nation of Cruxa in its search for a missing airliner. Over the past couple of weeks, Cruxa has been attempting to find any wreckage from Bellisle flight 3767 which went down somewhere in the Mesder Sea. Thus far Cruxan efforts have unfortunately not yielded any results, as they haven't found any passengers or anything else. Whereas previously they were unsure about foul play, now Cruxan investigators are entertaining the prospect.

Chulainn NaAchill said that the Royal Owinn Navy (RON) is sending out three of its smaller vessels, Battle class corvettes, southeast of Shanowinn into the Mesder Sea and they begin to aid investigative efforts. Each also carries a helicopter which can help cover an area rapidly. "We hope that our combined efforts will find favorable results," the Ahern stated. There is no saying how long it might take to find evidence from flight 3767, but authorities are hopeful that more search parties will increase the chances.

According to the National Indigenous Protection Organization (NIPO), the tribe did never had contact with the civilized world. Photos from an helicopter show that they lived isolated in the protected area.

The National Indigenous Protection Organization (NIPO) bring out in this Saturday photographs of an indigenous tribe Tocariju that live isolated in the Cocó Forest, a preservation area in the south of Dragão do Mar. These are the first photos of the community, according to NIPO.

"Is too hard to approach because they attack with arrows. They are very angry. The archers shooted in my aeroplane when me and my team was flying over. They get too suspicious of non-indigenous.", said the NIPO representative.

"They take all the resources from the nature. They have a cultive of cassava, banana, and potatoes. In the pictures is possible to see some plantations, so they probably are not getting hungry. The tribe live near the Jucá river and have fishing habits too" said Dário Alcântara, an researcher.

According to the NIPO vice-president, other tribes of this the ethnic group have nomadic habits, but for some reason the founded tribe are establishing in the area. "We heard about miners trying to approach, but they didn't accepted and a fight happened. When the non-natives come there, they get killed with arrows. At 4:30pm today, an Executive Order was signed by the President to ban all travel between Ostehaar and the United Repiblican Lands due to the excessive amount of crime in Ostehaar and the homicidal doctors in Ostehaar. This executive order specifically notes the lack of care towards live that the people and government of Ostehaar have. The United Republican Lands has also classified the nation of Ostehaar as a human rights violator. In addition, all interactions with Ostehaar have been banned, except in specific circumstances, due to the Ostehaar government's lack of freedoms and human rights.

The Miklanian Government formally requests that the United Republican Lands repeal this atrocious breach of international protocol immediately. Earlier today the office of the Consul Adstutia sent out a press release that stated that the Consul Adstutia had sent a strong condemnation of the URL. This was in light of a travel ban on Ostehaar and a strong condemnation by strong ally Miklania.

The story so far is that the United Republican Lands is a majorly conservative nation. Earlier this week they charged three doctors with murder in many counts because they were practicing abortion in the nation, which outlaws this. In response many nations expressed dissatisfaction and a member of the Oster government went even farther than just displeasure. In response the URL heavy-handedly placed a travel ban on the nation of Ostehaar, an ally to many nations in the region. After this Miklania was the first nation to condemn the nation, it drew back airlines and even stopped exports of arms to the nation.

In order to keep up the pressure the Consul Adstutia stated that the nation of Polar Svalbard expresses condemnation on the nation of the United Republican Lands for its diplomatic attack on the peaceful Ostehaar and its extreme abuse of basic human rights. After that she stated that Polar Svalbard would be placing sanctions in the areas of arms manufacturing, RREs, chemicals, and primary industries which supply URL manufacturing in the textile industries. Hackers have recently released a large number of documents that highlight Svalbardian interests in the South-East of the region. It seems these hackers are in favor of communism as their "justifications" for this is that Polar Svalbard is being "too harsh" towards the OCWI. These documents show that the Consuls have been in contact with the nations of Kandana and Areguelista. These nations are in the center of where many of the communist nations are and thus it does not seem unreasonable that the government is putting forth interest there. More interesting will be if Miklania follows with Polar Svalbard and expresses support in the area.

The recent closure of borders between Areguelista and Bhikkustan is likely to be a concern in these negotiations. Truly this was unexpected although it may show Areguelista's commitment to being anti-communism. This will likely endear the nation to the Consul Bellum who is very anti-communist and was a major point in his election.

Task Force Raven diverted to help in search for missing plane



In a rare opportunity for the press, information on Task Force Raven has been released. The Task Force is heading out of dock in order to help look for a missing Cruxan plane, Belisle Flight 3767. This plane went down a couple weeks ago and with the Cruxan government unable to find it and the nation of Shanowinn coming to their aid, the Consul Bellum stated that missing planes need to be recovered so that aviation is safer for all nations. Thus he continued that it was the international community's necessity to aid in finding the plane.

Many have stated that possible targets may be New Oranistan or Vioraux if it truly is carrying an SMI-2 team. Sanctions Placed on Human Rights Violators

During a late-night session of Congress, sanctions have been placed on Ostehaar due to its human rights violations, specifically due to its denying a person's right to live. As a result, all financial and banking accounts of any person from Ostehaar shall be frozen and any and all trade goods originating from Ostehaar, shall receive a ban from use in the United Republican Lands. These sanctions shall remain until Ostehaar takes action and passes legislation banning topic of its violation. This means that Ostehaar shall remain sanctioned until its government passes legislation respecting all life from conception to natural death.

New Law Passed

A new law was just passed minutes ago. This law, called the Travel Regulation Act. This new law gives the government the right to deny a person entry into the United Republican Lands if that person is a criminal or using a passport from a nation that the United Republican Lands has deemed a Human Rights Violator. Another clause within the law taxes any trips to a human rights violating country by up to 200% the cost of the trip. This law repeals the travel ban against on Ostehaar.

This new act will provide the average Oranistanian their basic human rights and freedoms, and not just the wealthy. However, Shiite citizens have pushed for them to be included, as all but them were. Act-271B was the second attempt from Oranistanian parliament to enact basic freedoms (Act-271A was a complete disaster and was less representative of New Oranistan's growing religious diversity).

Ship from Dragão do Mar rescues 220 refugees in the Mesder Sea

The Barroso corvette (V-34) from the Dragão do Mar Royal Navy, while in a routine navigating, rescued 220 refugees from New Oranistan in high seas.
They were trying to go to other nations in the Wake Island Region, but the tide pushed they too far away.
The Marian ship received a message from the Keomoran Maritime Search and Rescue Center, an alert of the existence of this boat.

"The Keomorans had two patrol boats, but without sufficient space, they called us" said an Navy recruit. All the action were authorized by the Marian Navy commandant.

About the ship

The "Barroso" Corvette departed in January, 29 from Dionisius Towers, in the north of Dragão do Mar to replace the Frigate "Union" in the Mesder Sea patrol.

With project and national fabrication, the Corvette is a ship with 103,5 meters of length and 2,4 thousand tonnes. With autonomy to stay 30 entire days in mission.

With crew of 191 men, the ship will stay in the Pirambu port until Monday, then he will go back to Dionisius Towers. So, when the "Barroso" Corvette come back, the Frigate "Union" will return to the missions.

There have been some voting issues in Erdehare, where voters were turned away from voting at the South Erdehare District Hall following a failure of the computerized voting system. Voting was back to normal once the problems were fixed, according to reports.

Voting this year is largely seen as unnecessary by many Osters - mainly in the south of the country - as another term for Prime Minister Rikar Vulf Dorias is the widely expected result. Indeed, voter turnout seems to be low in comparison to the same time period in recent elections. Still, enthusiastic campaigning was seen in most voting places around the country, with university students especially doing most of the field work.

The polls will close in 10 p.m. tonight. By tomorrow morning, either acting Prime Minister and head of 'The Labor Party' Rikard Vulf Dorias, or head of the opposition and leader of the 'New Ostehaar' party Mikahel Si Ardner, will be announced as the winner. The elected Prime Minister will have two weeks to form a new coalition, and will be inaugurated on February 21st.

In other news - Minister of Foreign Affairs Elena Brahurer responded on the United Republican Lands' anti-Oster sanctions yesterday evening, stating that URL's actions are "ridiculous and absurd."

When asked about a possible Oster reaction to the sanctions, the Minister replied: "We are not going to do the same, of course. We have no reason whatsoever to act against the citizens of another nation by freezing bank accounts or banning goods. All citizens of the United Republican Lands are still welcome to visit Ostehaar if they please. It is a bit cold now, as you probably know, but the views are still great." Minister Brahurer added that actions will be taken to ensure that no property of any Oster citizens is "stolen" by the government of the United Republican Lands.

The presumed death toll is around 117.

This is shocking. I am disgusted in the manor that SHOCK has conducted this attack. They focussed on the innocent people who could hardly fight back, and then attacked the ambulance workers. We have sent in riot police. We are currently waiting for the order to send in armed police, or even the army. We advise all citizens of Sığınağı arazi to stay at home and keep all doors and windows locked.

Covonant to send back refugees from New Oranistan

The Covonantian government is looking to send back refugees from New Oranistan that flew into the country illegally early Sunday morning. Roughly 48 individuals from New Oranistan many among them being women and children flew to Coventry, Covonant in hopes of seeking refuge from the violent uprising taking place in New Oranistan. Minister of Foreign Affairs Tilonius Vesa has announced that the government is making urgent steps to have the individuals who have been staying at Gloriana Immigration Detention Centre in Coventry since Sunday to be immediately returned to New Oranistan.

Covonant is not obligated to accept these refugees. We are not signatories of any international agreement that states where we have to accept them. Under our laws they are here illegally, and as such should be returned to where they came from. We (the government) is moving swiftly to have them removed. And I can assure they will be out of the country latest today.

Many Covonantians are however voicing concerns as to why the government should not turn them back. Among those voicing opposition to the move to return the refugees is Action Covonant President Mrs. Cynthia Barnswell who is leading the Refugees are Welcome Here campaign that is having many support around the country.

Covonant is a liberal country, and I find it hard that our government is behaving harsh towards persons seeking refuge in a country like Covonant. We should be welcoming to those fleeing war and oppression. We have this xenophobic attitude towards other countries in the isles and its people. We were opposed to Bhikkustanis coming in and now we are opposing New Oranistan. We are sending a bad message to other nations around the Isles when it comes to our accepting of refugees. Let us hope we won't one day need assistance in the event we have a crisis.

Attorney James Civiles who is president of the Covonantian Bar Association agrees with the government that they are not obligated to taking in refugees and calls the Welcome Here Campaign a threat to national security.

The government has to exercise caution in this matter. Who are these people coming here. None of them have Covonantian visas. So should we permit them to stay on the basis there country is at war with itself. Non-sense. It is foolish to let emotions override critical thinking. They do not belong here. We did not say we are taking any. Other countries around the isle can deal with them. Covonant is not a refugees club.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, is hoping many do not view this as Covonant being harsh but notes the government has not created a policy on admitting refugees and it would be hard to have these individuals many of whom are children and women to integrate into the society. He is calling for change of the New Oranistan government.

Covonant does not have a comprehensive programme to deal with the admitting of refugees. I am not sure if one will be created, I can say however that it is not a priority of the government at this time. What I will however do is caution the New Oranistan government to change from there style in governance as they are leading down a slippery slope and fast.

There is fear that more refugees may be seeking to enter Covonant prompting the government to be extremely vigilant.

Minister of Agriculture, Industry and the Environment to represent Covonant at Climate Summit


Minister of Agriculture, Industry, and the Environment Gallus Caelianus

The Minister of Agriculture, Industry, and the Environment Gallus Caelianus has departed Coventry for Kirsdoff, Ipland for the staging of the Western Isles Climate Change Summit. Accompanying Minister Caelianus is Permanent Secretary Mr. Lucius Orientalis. It is expected that Minister Caelianus will be raising issues concerning countries use of fossil fuel in the region and call for major reductions in the usage. Also expressed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Industry, and the Environment is Covonant's hope to be a supporting member of reduction in harmful substances being emitted into the atmosphere.

The Summit as already went underway with many nations representatives already being in attendance. The CBC will bring regular updates following the progress of the summit.

Communist Party Pushes for Statue of Former Leader


Thousands gathered in the capital city, New Madrid, to urge the government to allocate
funds to erect a statue of former leader, Guillermo Carmona Núñez, outside the capitol building.

There is currently a push, led by Communist party leader Eduardo Navarro Herrera, to erect a statue of the former national leader Guillermo Carmona Núñez outside the nation's capitol building. Carmona Núñez was president of Gan Fingolka from 1967-2010. Navarro Herrera was Carmona Núñez's personal advisor from 1980-2010. The party is collecting signatures in hopes of forcing a referendum in the Federal Assembly. As of February 7, they have 56,000 of the necessary 100,000 signatures needed for a referendum to occur.

"We musn't forget our past," Navarro Herrera stated at a rally last weekend. "Leader Carmona Núñez was a good person and an even better leader, but President [Valeria] Gonzalez Puente spreads propaganda by claiming that he created a broken country and that we are now picking up the pieces. Leader Carmona Núñez took care of us, and plenty of people agree with me."

Two years ago, the day of Carmona Núñez's death was declared a national day of celebration after a vote in the Federal Assembly. The vote ended 76 for and 14 against. Many believe that celebrating the death of Carmona Núñez is justified and reject the thought of erecting a statue of the now-deceased leader. "I sobbed happy tears the day Leader Carmona Núñez died," commented an unnamed citizen. "I remember when I was growing up that I would go hungry almost every night because we did not have any food. Leader Carmona Núñez promised to take care of us, and he never did. I refuse to allow a statue of him be outside the capitol. If the government makes a statue, I will spit on him every day on my way to work."

No comments have been made by President Gonzalez Puente regarding the issue at this time.

Arvanan Refugees Fill Camps in Calionte

Cortes, Calionte- As many as eight thousand refugees have filled three camps in Calionte, which the eastern Michigonia state has set up in the wake of the occupation of Arván. The first wave, numbering an estimated three thousand, were those who fled the Arván peninsula prior to the late December invasion by Norronican and Vancouvian forces.

Last week, the Confederate government passed legislation appropriating more than $10 million in emergency funds to support the state's refugee assistance operations. Notable Conservative Party MPs have called for caution in allowing blanket asylum into the country, but were hesitant to take a tougher stance against the program, citing Michigonia's historically open-door immigration policies.

As part of the program, steps are being taken to provide options for the refugees: citizenship or repatriation to Arván. WIth Norronica and Vancouvia in control of the peninsula, order and normality have begun to resume. Still, many have fled poverty, violence, and organized criminal activity, and have expressed interest in assimilating in Michigonia.

States Increase Funding for Private Police

New Dover, Hillsbora- Some states in Michigonia have increased funding to private police companies in response to unrest in neighboring nations. Hillsbora recently passed legislation to appropriate $20.5 million for "public security personnel," with the majority of the funds going to private security contractor Rockford Services Group.

Governor Wendell Poolman of Hillsbora cites the recent rise of the terror group SHOCK in neighboring Karahar and elsewhere, but expects Michigonia to remain safe:

"We have the utmost confidence in our security servants. Our public and private partners have done swimmingly in regards to keeping our citizens safe."

Calionte has also stepped up police and even some military funding, in the wake of the Arván conflict. Security contractor FFG recently signed a contract to patrol the eastern border, and manage the security at the state's three refugee camps. Michigonia President, Carlos Torres, the Federal Councillor from Calionte, has expressed support for the moves by his home state, but stopped short of suggesting national financial support despite local pressure to do so. In statement earlier today, the President said:

"The Confederate government stands with our states, and we wish to assure the people that we are doing all we can to coordinate the appropriate provisions to ensure their safety."

Socialist candidate Marina Lacasa is leading in recent polls for the 2017 presidential election. With over a month to the election, it is unclear who will win, but it is predicted that either Lacasa, Secretary of State Adriana Laguna of the Democratic Progressive Party, or independent governor of Lagurife Saúl Quesada will become President. Areguelista 24 has not endorsed a candidate yet.
