Referendum has a negative outcome for independece!

Yesterday the citizens of the oversea Imperialonian province of Imperialonian-Sadievi voted for independence just like the northern former Aapelistanian part of the islands. The voting-percentage was big enough to make the outcome binding to the Imperialonian government, though it was negative which doesn't make the Imperialonian-Sadievi islands independent.

It was a strong minority of people that wanted independence, a small 21% to be excact. 79% voted against the question: Does Imperialonian Sadievi needs to become an independent nation? That was a huge relief for the Senate and the Consuls. Otherwise the problem of finding a new government would have occured.

"Of course I'm happy! -so says consul Melas- Our Imperialonian Empire fought very hard to safe the islands from destruction and economic crisis when their prime minister died. I am more than happy to see the Sadievians still thank us for that!"

Today, the ash stopped falling from the skies, and bhikkustanis could finally emerge and view the devastation that has been visited on them. Many wept at the loss of all that they had ever known, taken from them in an instant.

All across the nation, holy sites and heritage areas have been destroyed, and people have been left without homes, power, food or water. These people are struggling to survive off what they can find, and foreign aid.

Altankhangai, Once one of the greatest refuges of knowledge containing many temples and universities has been severely damaged during the eruptions. Countless books, scriptures and Buddhist, Hindu and Islamic artifacts have been destroyed. It is a grave blow to the history and hertage of our great nation.

Several theories have been put forward to the cause of the eruption. Sangharaja Pruek Lin-kjer claimed that "the eruption was a karmic response to the violence erupting in our region," while Islamic imam Yoskek of the Herudi, a native nomadic group the roam the central plains said "it is Allah's wrath unto the treatment of his followers. Whatever the cause, Khan Surevi, in a statement from his temporary lodgings in Bhumidol, has proclaimed, "this tragedy that destroyed our ves must now also destroy tensions between us, as we strive to rebuild our world after the flames of the earth." Khan Surevi has promised to return to Bhikkustan to help with the rebuild.

NEL Destroyed

12 NEL bases were destroyed today. 490 NEL members captured and 521 Killed. It is believed that all NEL bases have been destroyed and that all remaining NEL members are located outside of Stralend. The Stralendese government warns nearby countries to watch out for possible terrorists attempting to enter their countries. They also warn that some countries may have already been infiltrated by NEL terrorists. The government would like any such terrorists to be deported to Stralend for capture.

The NEL leader, William Fosse, was captured in his house in Achtrecht at 8:06 PM. He will be interviewed and interrogated tomorrow. His execution for Terrorism and High Treason is scheduled for Febuary 10th.

Today, the government announced a deal with Franco-Albion that started in May of 2015 was finally closing and that new ships would be delivered on February 5th. These ships were 10 Haedui Frigates and 5 Global Destroyers. The purchase cost a total of 6.5 billion Dollars.

FIGHTER SQUADRONS DISBANDED; F-16 NO LONGER IN SERVICE

As part of the re-organization of the Oster Air Force, and with the integration of the latest batch of Miklanian F-21O's into the military, the Ministry of Defense decided to disband all of the Air Force's F-16 fighter squadrons - A total number of 7 squadrons, 140 fighters, and several hundred soldiers. In recent years, due to budget cuts and the F-21 deal, the F-16 squadrons have been inactive and many in the government had questioned the need to maintain them. This latest decision by the Ministry comes after promises to "make the DFO more efficient".

The squadrons expected to be disbanded are the legendary 101st and 105th, the 107th, the 116th, and the three "second batch" squadrons - 119th, 201st, and 253rd. 10 F-16XL fighters will remain active in the Air Force, as part of the 115th "fighter aggressor" squadron.

Minister of Defense Aarin Dulikh published an official announcement of this change to the press, adding that in the next few years Ostehaar will invest in the development of "new and better" fighter jets. He did not specify the nature of this investment.

Today, Basso-Estena shall become a protectorate of Stralend. This has been decided on by the government, who have conceded that the Estenan Army is too small to defend itself, but with the help of Stralend, we will be able to stand. Trade deals have also been agreed on, helping the strong Estenan economy. We will buy weaponry from them to arm our own men, as they produce great equipment. Basso-Estena shall still be independent, but we will rely on them for defence in return for trade. We thank them for this very kind service they do unto us.

NUCLEAR EXPLOSION DETECTED NORTH OF CAMTHOLIA; NEW AAPELISTAN SUSPECTED

Last night at around 03:35 AM, Ostehaar's low-orbit research satellite LORS-II recorded a "double pulse" of light and high energy radiation - A known characteristic of nuclear explosions - from a location at sea north of Camtholia. Using the bhangmeter installed on the satellite, it was later confirmed that indeed the recorded "double pulse" was a nuclear blast, with a yield of about 60kT - Almost three times the yield of the "Fat Man" bomb dropped on Nagasaki.

No official comment was made by any government or organization in The Western Isles, yet anonymous sources in the Oster Ministry of Defense claimed that the recent hostilities in the east, involving New Aapelistan and Camtholia, along with the location of the explosion, put the blame on the agressive Communist nation. Various reports indicate that around midnight last night, fishermen at the south-eastern extension of Eterna Sea spotted what appeared to be a New Aapelistanian naval vessel making its way northwards.

It may take several days for a research vessel to get close enough to "ground zero" of the suspected blast, in order to perform detailed analysis of the incident. Meanwhile, it is recommended for fishermen and travelers to avoid being near the area in question.

Congress Calls for International Action

Following confirmation of a nuclear blast north of Camtholia by both domestic and allied intelligence agencies, Congress immediately acted in an emergency morning session, declaring that any "future tests of a nuclear nature" by any nation will be seen as deliberately aggressive moves against Vancouvia and its allies.

Although the Congressional report failed to direct the blame to any specific country, Senator Arnold Yates uttered a few brief words outside the Capitol building. "It is clear that this is a reaction of the New Aaeplistan leaders who feel increasingly cornered by sanctions and their participation in the so-called Imperial War. This is a nation lashing out, desperate to display its power when it has none."

Congress's statement also included calls for all nations to usher in forceful sanctions against New Aaeplistan until they dismantle their nuclear program.

Nuclear fears run rampant



After the recent nuclear test north of Camtholia, Estenan citizens are stocking up on emergency foods, and more and more men are joining into our armed forces. There have also been lots of people selling investments in overseas countries, especially nations involved with the "Imperial War". People have protested in the streets to form embargoes on New Aapelistan and Eurania, and the government will vote on these propositions soon. Several suspected communist guerrillas have been detained today, with charges of treason and conspiracy to rebellion. We hope that this is all that will come of this, as the government have demanded that any McCarthyism will be punishable as well. In these treacherous times, we must stay together and trust one another. Suspicion will be the end of all of us.

Today the Stralendese government stated it would remain neutral on the issue of the nuclear testing north of Camtholia. Foreign Affairs minister Rudolf Lutte stated that "We cannot be sure if it was really New Aapelistan launching those nukes, if they even were nukes. It may just be a desperate attempt by Camtholia to bring other nations against New Aapelistan in order to save itself. If this is true it is understandable that a nation in a position like Camtholia would do a thing like that although it is still not right to do so. I cannot decide which of these possibilities it is and neither can President Joseph Verbeeten. For this reason among others we shall remain neutral, at least for now."

Svalbardian Government urges nations to caution themselves

The Svalbardian Senate and the Consuls have agreed that while we do not know who tested this nuke, which is concerning, they are strongly urging governments not to be too reactionary. While there have been rumors of a second Imperial War, nothing is official yet and there is no need to stir the pot. Currently as far as all nations know, there is no nation to blame on this issue and it would not be good to start a witch hunt. Wildfire Spreading Fast

BREAKING NEWS

A vast wildfire has been tearing through rural areas on the south western side of Doubi. The red area on the map indicates the already burned area and the orange is the area that could be affected. Fire-fighters have been desperately trying to put out this monster of a fire but even the constant stream of monsoon buckets cannot put out this fire. The death toll is sitting at approximately 200 but the amount of crops destroyed is astronomical and Doubi citezins will soon probably be put in to some sort of ration. The food loss is so far not a problem but it is expected to take its toll.

Prince Terance Put In Hospital

While fulfilling the role of the historical King Otrygg Thorbrandsson in the new theatrical play "Agadjari" by fameous playwright Simon Linton, Prince Terance broke his leg.

Prince Terance, the second oldest son of the king of Theimar, is an acclaimed dramatic actor. He debuted at the age of fourteen as the character Cullen Dallas in the theatrical play "Sons of the Sword", also by Simon Linton.

"When it was my queue to get on stage, I tripped and fell down the stairs," the Prince commented. "I was too focussed on my lines to pay attention to my movement, and that proved disastrous."

Prince Caelan, Prince Terance's younger brother, remains positive despite his brother's injury.

"I told him to break a leg," Prince Caelan humored. "Little did I know that he would take it so literally!"

Joss Eccleston, the up-and-coming actor previously seen in the theatrical play "The Dark Merchant of Lowell", will be filling in for Prince Terance until the Prince has fully recovered from his injury.

Naval games begin in the Mesder Sea

Today, I am standing on the VNS Mercury, a new Global Class destroyer being put to the test here in the Mesder Sea along with all 4 of its sister ships, 10 of the new Frigates, and 10 of the corvettes. The VNS Spoiler, a replenishment ship, is also here today, keeping the navy here full and making escorted trips back for refueling itself.

The plan is to test the new vessels and get the crews oriented with the weapons in combat simulation. While the vessels are fully armed, the software is switched so that it doesn't actually fire any weapons. However, Admiral Birthmire, who is in command of the fleet here, assures me that it is as simple as flipping a switch to flip back to real time combat readiness.

These games will be continuing throughout the weeks ahead as every system is tested and retested.

Ernormous Uranium Deposit Found in the Bashnya Mountain Range

After a recent geological survey by the Federal Institute of Valta Yevka in the Bashnya Mountain Range, has uncovered another Uranium Deposit. Multiple other deposits have also been previously discovered, as well as worked, but none are as large as this one.

Most of them have an estimated fifty or so tons of uranium, but the most recently discovered, has been estimated to have over a hundred tons of uranium making it the largest deposit in Stordavian territory to date.

Early yesterday morning five high ranking NDO officers were captured by CPS operatives near the Donné-D'uns border. While initially it was planned that they would be brought to the îles Du Soleil as prisoners; President Antoinette, with advisement from CPS command César Perreault, brought the terrorists to Versailles. There the decision was made to execute them for their crimes against the nation. Things only got more controversial from there. It was then announced they would be killed via guillotine. The one to announce this radical idea was César Perreault and it was later confirmed by President Antoinette. The execution date is set for Sunday, February 7th and tickets to view the event can be purchased online, or in participating stores. Prices starts at ₦200.00 for front row seats and go all the way down to ₦50.00.

"Fighting For Freedom" is the new slogan for the government sponsored modern day coliseum made to bring poverty stricken aberrant-class (those who descend from english ancestors) citizens of the PPU. Since Voyageur was given to Domanania a new city sprung up nearby for citizens of Voyageur that decided to stay loyal to the PPU. This new slum city that has yet to be given a name has made a less than ideal home for those who cannot afford an adequate living space. Therefore it would be horrible to not give these people a chance at a better life. Thats why only they can participate in the coliseum since they are the ones who need it the most.

Those who volunteer to perform in the coliseum will be paid handsomely as their life is on the line. For each round only one out of the two fighters can live, but that has not stopped many desperate impoverished people to signing up and the first show is tomorrow at noon. Tickets start at ₦25.00 and go upwards of ₦100.00 for the best seats in the house.

CPS has finally finished their new facility in Donné which is a sister building to AMBER. This new facility has been dubbed Julius, and it will house CPS's nuclear, and space program. However lately the public has been skeptical of the organization, specifically in Riviére where people have begun demanding more information on what exactly CPS is doing. To make matters worse, earlier this week photos arose again showing more gruesome photos of human experimentation taking place inside CPS. Late last year similar photos surfaced and the result was a statement made by César: "Under no circumstances, would CPS engage, or even think about experimenting on fellow human beings. It is appalling that such accusations would even surface and we are confident the general populace will continue to place trust in not only CPS-43 but in the entire CPS organization as a whole. AMBER is a productive facility that prioritizes the advancement of society and the PPU as a whole. However the photos in question today are a bit more terrifying, so terrifying that we have chosen not to publicly post them and spread them further. There has been no comment by CPS yet on these new allegations but a poll given Thursday showed CPS approval ratings for each major PPU city.

Scarletts new song "Wild" has topped the Isles hot 100 chart and has remained there for 7 weeks, however the happiness of this achievement has been cut short as rumors of Scarlett being pregnant have been all over twitter for the past few days. While this is typical for artist, these rumors have been taken seriously by many and they make sense, and Scarlett her self has not addressed them for days now. The baby daddy has not yet been named if there even is one, and Scarlett has gone as far as to cancel her upcoming concert in Polar Svalbard.

Wrapping us up is the unfortunate news involving the Pacific Dove which has had many animal activists around the region infuriated. The beautiful beloved bird that is unique to the PPU is loved for its scrumptious taste and is a staple among Pacificer diets. However due to the environmental conditions of the nations mixed with the want to eat them, the bird has reached alarmingly low numbers and ecologists have predicted the bird to go extinct by 2017 if not before hand.

Oranje Atoll, a member of the Elek Atoll group is now open to foreign research teams. Professor Thiemo Peeters stated "We are looking forward to studying these salmon and finding out more about these beautiful fish". Currently no foreign countries have shown interest in sending a research team.

Isles Academy of Music and Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Announces 2017 Show "Yet to be Decided"

Earlier this morning, the Isles Academy of Music and Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (IAMMPAS) announced that the 2017 Awards Show location is yet to be decided, though it is most probable it will occur in the Four Passages.

The 2016 show is being hosted in Ienempyr, Dashgrinaar at the Rosé Center - as decided art the IAMMPAS Summit last year.

The Centre will be capable of hosting over 150,000 watchers, along with around 5,000 celebrities along with their their families. Designed in 2003, and finished in 2014, the Centre is the largest in Dashgrinaar, and preparations for the Show have extended back in November of last year. The 155,000 people will be situated within 7 ringed tiers that extend upwards, with the celebrities in the smallest ring on the bottom which connects to the stage. Tickets for the 2016 show have been on sale since September, with over 130,000 of them already being sold. The show will occur on the 14th (probably later IC).



The IAMMPA has also declared that for the 2016 show, 5 new categories of awards have been added - Best Co-Performed Single, Best Breakthrough Artist, Best Motion Picture Score, Best Book-to-Motion Picture Conversion, and Best Co-Performed Album.

Domanania Allows More Private Industry

Earlier today in the Grand Congress, after months of debate, the Congress has just put forward an act to allow greater private industry to operate in Domanania.



After many decisions to allow foreign companies such as Warm Seas to operate business in Domanania, the new law has given greater freedoms to private industry.

"As of this day, any industry not regulated by the government can be owned privately and operate with greater freedoms. This is extended to foreign industries as well, of those overseas have greater freedoms to operate. Companies still have to operate with government regulations, but those industries not controlled are protected under this bill." -Freedoms of Private Industry bill
