Sanctions Against New Aapelistan and Eurania

Following an announcement by the state-run media of Eurania on a transfer of nuclear materials from New Aapelistan to Eurania, the Vancouvian Congress issued widespread sanctions against the two nations.

"As of today, January 12th, no Vancouvian company will engage in trade with any Euranian or Aapelistanian company. No citizens of either nation will be allowed in Vancouvian territory. Any soldier or civilian found in our free lands will be detained indefinitely. Euranian and Aaeplistanian vessels shall not proceed within 100 miles of the International District, Illa Isle, or Vancouvia proper. Any further transfer of nuclear materials by either nation to any other nation, even of a non-weaponized nature, will be considered an act of aggression against The Free Lands of Vancouvia, and will be responded to in kind by Vancouvia and her allies."

This morning, a large portion of the Vancouvian fleet stationed at the I.D. left port and traveled east, mooring in the waters south of Verdon.

Atnaia Support Vancouvian Sanctions

Following the Vancouvian announcement of sanctions against New Aapelistan and Eurania, the government of Atnaia has declared its support of the Vancouvian action, and has said it will follow suit in the matter. It has reaffirmed its strong anti-nuclear position and has stated that the government remains committed to non-proliferation and international nuclear disarmament.

"In this international environment, no illusions should be made regarding the danger of such activities, especially in nations with ideals so antithetical to our own," said a spokesperson for the government.

While no military action or deployments have been announced, the government has stated that there will be no trade with the nations, and that incursions into Atnaian waters will be taken as an act of aggression. Furthermore, breaches of Vancouvia's sanctions will also be taken as acts of aggression by the Principality.

"We cannot allow this sort of behaviour," said the spokesperson. "While we respect the sovereignty of all nations, nuclear proliferation is a threat faced by everybody, and will only end in pain and misery."

Sanctions and Actions Against Eurania, New Aapelistan

In response to the actions of New Aapelistan and Eurania, Ventlimian officials announced the introduction of similar sanctions to the ones Vancouvia enacted earlier today.

"The free trade of Nuclear Weapons between hostile powers is a threat to all members of this region," President Gloyd said in a public address. "We encourage Vancouvia to continue in these actions and will dispatch 8 of our vessels to aid the Vancouvians. Also, all trade is to be suspended with the participatory nations in this exchange."

These vessels are 5 of the Rizal Class Corvettes.

Atnaia Also weighed in on the situation and announced similar sanctions.

Camtholia on high alert!

Recent news of the nation of New Aapelistan transporting nuclear weapons to Eurania has put Camtholia's military in a state of high alert!

The military has announced it's intentions to launch the bulk of Camtholia's navy to keep an eye on the nearby waters, King Alexander had this to say: "We mustn't be intimated by these acts of aggression, we will not tolerate any assault on our sovereignty, we will remain vigilant, and steadfast in our resolve".

The Noble Navy has announced that the fleets will be distributed in a defensive pattern, full details are unavailable at this time.

Many in Camtholia have expressed fear at what this means on a large scale, some have even expressed disdain at Camtholia's immediate military reaction to the event.

Camtholia has also gone into talks with it's allies in the Mesder Sea Treaty Organisation, who have also shown great concern at recent events.

Henry Lucer Named Regent

After several weeks of speculation regarding Prince James' ailing health, Palace officials announced this morning in a press conference that the Prince slipped into unconsciousness yesterday and is not expected to awaken in the near future. Prince James had not attended Parliament since before the New Year, and hasn't made any public appearances since his Christmas address. This had led many to speculate that the Prince had taken ill, which has since been confirmed.

Until such a time that the Prince regains his health, his grandson and heir Henry Lucer has been named Regent, and is expected to create an informal council to help make decisions on behalf of the Prince. This decision has been met by harsh criticism by the heir's opponents, who continue to point at Henry's unprofessional behaviour and lack of experience. While adopted as a term of endearment by the heir's supporters, the term "Magician Prince" is now also being used by his opponents to underline his strange and sometimes erratic behaviour.

"Until the matter of succession has been discussed properly, power should be vested in Parliament," said Lord George Balter, one of Lucer's harshest critics and vocal supporter of decreased monarchical power.

Mary Wessich, the greatest contender to the throne, had this to say at a small conference of her own following the official announcement:

"My cousin was - is - a good man, and will be remembered by all of us, but the time is now for us to support those who would make this country great again. We should be supporting men with our best interests at heart, not men who can't even control themselves in public."

It is unknown whether the Prince will recover at this time.

Ayselfortia, which was recognised as a nation yesterday (After only 1 week of winning the rebellion), has now been added to the map and, unlike before, when it's land wasn't officially recognised, it is now illegal to enter Ayselfortia's territory without a valid passport. The economy has started to fix has the government had to cut back spending and citizens no longer had basic survival needs; however a bailout by the International Red Wheel has fixed it and the the economy is on the rise again.

The Prime Minister has accepted the construction of a military base on the east of the island to help protect against enemies and pirates.

The storm, named Storm Albert, passed over without much destruction as it had weakened over the Lotus Sea due to high pressure in the area. Temperatures are forecast to be around 10 to 14 degrees centigrade over the coming days with rainstorms scattered around. The sun will rise at 07:11 tomorrow and will set at 16:23

The Prime Minister of Ayselfortia has issued a Level 4 military warning due to nuclear weapons being transported from New Aapelistan to Eurania. The National Navy and the National Air Force has been dispatched and is patrolling the area near where the nukes were transported. A ship carrying high-grade C4 explosives into Eurania has been captured and the crew members are unofficial prisoners-of-war. The captain has been questioned and he has revealed that they are being transported for New Aapelistan's Intelligence Service. "Any unidentified aircraft or ships entering Ayselfortia's waters will be immediately captured and the shipmates will be arrested. Any further details are protected by AMI-1 (Ayselfortian Military Intelligence 1).

Following the high-profile delivery of nuclear weapons from New Aapelistan to Eurania, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published an announcement ending the diplomatic relations between Ostehaar and New Aapelistan. Consequently, the ambassador of New Aapelistan was ordered to leave Ostehaar within the next 48 hours, along with his staff.

Senate Levies Sanctions, Navy Scrambles Carrier Group


The Senate has passed a resolution to sanction and embargo New Aapelistan and Eurania in an emergency session early this morning. The sanctions come only days after Speaker Richard Harfson declared that the threat of a resurgent communist block was "non-existent". Several key members of the Senate, including Harfson, had used the small victory in the South Doppler Sea only a few months ago as evidence that the Cold War with New Aapelistan and her allies was over. The announcement by Eurania, confirmed by military intelligence reports, says otherwise. Already, members of Harfson's own National party who opposed the military and intelligence stand down are denouncing the decisions, calling them premature and dangerous. Federalist party leaders were unavailable for comment, but must of the votes for the stand down came from members of that party, along with the three Green party members in the Senate.

In response, the Navy has rapidly brought several ships in every military port up to full readiness. Sailors and soldiers are being brought up to combat status across the country, in preparation for a possible escalation. Camtholian forces, in response to the obvious threat, have already deployed their fleets in defensive positions around their territorial waters, and other members of the Mesder Sea Treaty Organisation are bringing their forces back online as well.

The RMS Stormkeeper and her makeshift battle group are scheduled to set sail tomorrow to reinforce the outnumbered Camtholian fleet.

King-Elect makes Speech about Yarkandi's Foreign Policy

The King-Elect, Kind-Elect Aldyn Barakur, has invited media and members of government to his mansion home, as he will be making a speech on Yarkandi Foreign Policy for the up coming year and reviews the year in passing. We will be providing coverage for you and will do a repeat of it once its over and later on tonight so that you can catch it even if you are at work or away from home. "Hello, and welcome to my home, I hope you all find yourselves comfortable. I have called you all here for something that is, rather spur of the moment, but is important none-the-less. I bring you here to talk about our beautiful nation of Yarkandi and how she interacts with other nations. I'd like to talk about our goals in foreign relations this year and talk about our successes of last year."

"As many of you know, Yarkandi is a middle of the line country and that means that while we are powerful in some regards, we are lacking in others. Thus we need to find friends in this world. That is why I am maintaining a policy of friendly relations, with any nation who has not harmed Yarkandi. That is why we look for alliances with our neighbors, in order to safeguard our nation and theirs from threats. We look to establish more diplomatic agreements around the isles in order to allow better freedom of movement between our nations and encourage education and the economy of our nation and others' too.
We wish to establish peaceful relations with our neighbors and make sure that international trade routes are kept in tact. Along with that though we seek to keep a good balance of power in the isles, in order to safeguard the nations in the region that we live in, and to hopefully make sure that war is avoided, and as such we retain our commitment to the League of the Western Isles."

"As stated before we will be actively trying to maintain peaceful and friendly relations with all nations. The only reason that we wouldn't is if you are a threat to Yarkandi and her people. Currently our threats are a small amount of nations, but none the less with much power. Those would include the Ansuan Empire and her provinces, the nations of New Aapelistan and Eurania, and the nation of Cottoria. We wish not to incure hostile relations with these nations, but to let it be known that we are wary of them and their antics."
"We endeavor to strengthen our ties and form new ones with a plethora of nations, such as Ostehaar, Verdon, Umbrale, Myrtillia, Bhumidol, and Vancouvia. These nations, we have deemed, are quite condusive to what we strive for in our nation. They are seen as those who we can help, and who can help us. We look to them to encourage trade, education, peace and tranquility. It is in these nations that we shall spend much of our time to be friends with and hopefully allies with."
"Along with that our nation is built on our economy and her connections to the international market. As such, we look to establish more trading opportunities with other nations. Along with that we will be searching for new markets to purchase raw materials and markets to be able to sell our finish products to. Due to our reliance on trade we are strongly against Piracy. Being a pirate against our trade is punishable by death, and we will hunt down these terrorists. We call upon those we trade with, to also take this stance on piracy and we commend nations such as Polar Svalbard, Miklania, and Atnaia for their hunting down of these terrorists."
"I'd like to focus on what is probably the most controversial part of my statement, the balance of power. Currently in the region there are blocs of nations, such as the Mesder Sea Treaty Organization, the communist pacts of Eurania, New Aapelistan, and Cottoria, the 4 Passages, and the coalition formed by Vancouvia. But what of those not in those blocs? They are at great risk, they are at risk of being hurt or trampled on by the power blocs of the region. Thus we put forward this recommendation. That the small nations in the region find friends, it doesn't have to be us, but we are more than willing to do so, but you need a friend in this world, a nation that will protect yours the same as you can them."

The Union Supports its Allies Against New Aapelistan and Eurania

In a joint sitting in the Houses of Parliament (Consul) today, the senate has pledge its support behind those it views as the country's allies against the actions of New Aapelistan and Eurania. Minister of Defense Batiatus Sula made recommendations before the senate that the Union should have its forces be placed on guard to provide reinforcements to its allies if the situation escalates to military conflict. The Prime Minister, Imperatus Marl also weighed in on the matter.

"I have informed and advised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that diplomatic sanctions be placed on both nations (New Aapelistan and Eurania) provided that our borders be closed with relation to both aforementioned states ensuring no citizen from the Union make passage and entry to both aforementioned nations and no citizens from both states aformentioned be given passage and entry into the Union."

The Prime Minister also expressed his views on the matter, stating it provides an avenue for chaos and discernment to evade the region by nations who wish to portray aggression and destructive attitudes to the peaceful foundations of many nations including those deemed allies to the Union.

The Senate has advised the Prime Minister to provide military assistance to its allies, if the needs arise and if requested.

The Union is not in a viable position to enact or enforce economic sanctions on New Aapelistan or Eurania, as both nations are not trading partners of the Union.

Cottoria Governments sides with New Aapelistan and Eurania

The Cottorian government today decided to make a statement supporting the actions of New Aap and Eurania. The Cottorian government decided it was necessary to support there allies in the region. With tensions rising across the Western Isles, Cottoria believes that it needs to stand firm with there foreign policy.

The population is divided on the issued fearing potential war for the nation if they get involved. Many anti-nuclear groups in Cottoria today protested outside the capitol building demanding the government stay neutral in the crisis. Promethean Defense Contractors Win Bid for Control of Sixth Division

In a surprise to most experts tracking the results of the Stone Wall Act, Lord Thomas Wessich's Stone Wall Security Solutions has failed to become the first private military contractor to win a bid on control of part of the Royal Army's Second Corps. Promethean Defense Contractors, owned by Duke Augustus Blaine of Combrey, have won a bid for control of the Army's Sixth Division. While the details of the management of the new system have yet to be announced, it is presumed that the Divisional Generals will remain military, assisted by representatives of the contractors, while the brigadiers and all troops below them will contracted to PMCs.

The winning bid has not been announced, but Promethean has said that it will sub-contract at least some of the division's battalions.

Presidential Address

In a moment, President Sebastion Gloyd will be making a statement regarding the attacks yesterday, with a death toll of now up to 600 dead, 40 wounded. Citizens have lined the streets in wait of this speech. Just a few hours ago, the Mount Killohattan Liberation Front, a communist paramilitary group based in the Southeast of Mount Killohattan, claimed responsibility for the attack, sparking massive protests across the country.

We have just been informed that the President will be speaking now.

*On the screen, it switches to the President.*

"My fellow Ventlimians, yesterday our great nation was in a state of peace and tranquility that we have enjoyed for some 50 years. Yesterday, citizens shopped, miners worked, and tourists bustled about in Fort Highland. Yesterday, our country found itself almost ready to forget its past, to begin a new period of peace and prosperity with nations of the Western Isles." The president paused, his voice grave. "Then, yesterday, Our great nation lost 600 people in a single moment. Our mines collapsed, our buildings fell, and our people cried." He looked sternly into the camera now. "Today, Our nation knows who ripped those people from our hands, who targeted our industries and our places of pride. And today, I come before you to inform the people that I have just signed the orders for the deployment of 2 divisions of our soldiers to attack the militants of the KLF." The crowds across the country applauded lightly, cameras turning as they did. "We will find them, we will route them out of their holes, and we will have justice!" The Applause was longer, but finally subsided. "However, these Terrorists did not commit this act alone. They have been aided by a corrupt banking industry with ever reaching arms. These banks stole gold from the people of Ventlimer and used it to fund pirates and funnel weapons to the KLF and others!" The President took a sip of water, then continued in a calmer voice. "My fellow Ventlimians, the road ahead will not be an easy one. We will face enemies within our borders and in our banks and in our streets. And we will route them all from their perches. Tonight, though, rest easy knowing that the morning will come only with news of our victory against these Terrorists."

That was the President speaking in Ventlimer City, announcing the first deployment of troops on Ventlimian soil for combat in more than 50 years and also discussing the corruption of banking officials who were dragged before congress earlier this week.

Doubi Begins Annexing
The island circled in red is slowly becoming Doubi territory as 2000 Doubi soldiers marched through the dense forest marking areas that would be good for civilising. The natives put up some resistance but it didn't last long. Spears are no match for guns and the very few guns they had were in horrible condition and many couldn't penetrate the bulletproof vest that every Doubi soldier wears into combat. A few camps have been set up and so have a few ramshackle huts but this small island will soon be Doubi territory and will have the same trademarked Doubi-ish buzz to it. The new island named, New Doubi is a great move by the Doubi government.

A few protests have broken out as some natives from the land told people about the beuty of the land and that the tranquility of it shall be ruined. He was the ambassador of the island. (since the island isn't a country he wasn't really a ambassador but he was as close as it could get) He offered to give the island as long as it was used as a animal sancuary but the Doubis continued on relentlessly.

The island set untouched for many years but the first boats full of settlers are coming to build an airstrip and start a coastal city. Now to finish off with a quote by his excellence, Doubi D Doub. "This will be a pricey move, a gamble and shall take a small death toll most certantly. Putting these minor setbacks beside, if it works we will have gained a vast chunk of land and a new generation of natives to join our fabulous country."

Breaking News - Eruption Alert!

Today geoscientists discovered that the Mount Marasthra, a dormant volcano in central Bhikkustan, is about to erupt. All people in nearby villages must evacuate immediately. The Red Weel and other aid organisations are on standby to provide aid once the mountain erupts. Scientists have warned that the eruption could be massive, on a scale unseen for a long time. There is a large chance of massive ash fallout that could spread across The Western Isles.

Ventlimian vessels loading with aid supplies for Bhikkustan

Today, Ventlimian ships were loaded with cargo marked with the universally known red cross marked on its top, ready to send food, water, and other essentials to Bhikkustan.

"When nation's face hardships without aid, their suffering is prolonged and their people grow resentful," Vice President Samuel Wirthland said today. "As soon as we get their government's ok, we will be shipping these supplies to their harbors."

This comes as Bhikkustan announced that their volcano was ready to erupt on scales not seen for many years. These kinds of volcanic eruptions can be violent, destructive, and deadly. Those not killed in the blast of rock and lava must then face an air full of Ash. At its best, flights can be cancelled, and at its worst, people begin to struggle to breath.

A large pirate ship floating in the waters near Ayselfortia has been captured and the crew members are awaiting trial.

SANCTIONS ON NEW AEPELISTAN

Sanctions have been placed on the country of New Apelistan (hereby referred to as "NA") from fear of nuclear weapons being imported in secret to Ayselfortia. NA ships or aircaft closer than 200nm (Excluse Economic Zone) to Ayselfortia will be sent back. Any ship or aircraft within a 12nm bubble around the island WILL be destroyed. All NA citizens are being deported currently.

Government Military Privatization Plan Announced
Stone Wall Security Solutions Wins Bid for Seventh and Eighth Divisions

Following yesterday's announcement regarding Promethean Defense Contractors bid for control of the Royal Army's Sixth Division, the government of Atnaia has announced the functions of its privatization plan. According to military spokespeople, independent contractors will bid for divisional contracts. Each division will be headed by a general of the Royal Army, but all troops under the general will be employed by either the contractor or sub-contractors. According to the announcement, all current soldiers will be vetted based on combat experience, disciplinary activity and service history, and will either be removed from duty with compensation or offered contracts from the private military contractors that win the bid on their divisions. At this time, it is assumed that two-thirds of current forces will be retained, while the remaining third will be replaced by current employees of the defense contractors bidding for divisions.

Also as part of this announcement, Minister for Defense, Lord Thomas Wessich, has announced that his own company, Stone Wall Security Solutions, has won the bid for control of both the Seventh and Eighth Divisions, and that it is in talks with sub-contractors regarding control of brigades in the Eighth Division.

President Found Dead!

President Florence Belrose was found dead in his brother's house this morning. He had been giving a speech in Liberté Square, Port Myrtille, on Friday. His brother, Joseph Belrose, invited him to have dinner at his house in Lavigne. Florence was shot in the abdomen and Joseph was shot in the head. All members of the Presidential guard that were present were also found dead, many killed by assault weapons. 7 men were found dead outside of the house, all carrying various assault rifles, some even wearing kevlar vests.

Police are still searching for the remaining killers. Evidence suggests that Florence and Joseph were shot with 9mm rounds, probably from a handgun. It is estimated that around 14-18 people were involved in the President's murder.
