Matribhumi Girls to embark on South Gael tour
Matribhumi's Grade 10 students won Khyulpa's 'School of Vendriothos'
The 'School of Vendriothos' competition, organized by shipping company Khyulpa Line in memory of the 338 victims of the Hornet War (of which most were schoolchildren), has been won by Matribhumi High, an all-girls school from Ghan Pokhara, Second Tamuwan Hangate.
"Second Tamuwan Hangate has highest number of Hornet War victims. We know what it was like. Many of us lost people close to us; including our classmate Sangita Adhikari. We miss her everyday. Our win is dedicated to her, the other victims and their loved ones." Class captain Rubina Ghyabre said.
Over 160 Magarati schools (including branch schools in Almorea, Dragao do Mar and New Totzka) participated in the inter-school competition. Ayusha Pongi-Lama and Rubina Ghyabre in Group Debate, Ankita Koyohang in Solo Dance, Bidhika Raut in Football Juggling and the entire class in Short Drama came first to usher Matribhumi High as the winners of the competition.
Besides certificates and cash prize, the winners were also given the golden opportunity of a South Gael (Aruia-Ainslie-Roendavar) tour offered by Khyulpa Line. The girls stated that they were getting for their "exciting tour" that begins on Friday.
