Journalist Formally Dismissed, Summoned by Vanguard Chairman

Thuzbek State News confirmed today that it had terminated Baziri Asud, the reporter who released an article about the FWC and its choice to funnel funds to the military at the expense of the workers. In the same announcement, TSN said that Vanguard Chairman Lutfi had summoned the reporter to discover the source of the leaks. Hearings are to begin on Monday.

The announcement comes after days of waiting to hear from Baziri after he failed to report to work on Wednesday. This Publishing House can confirm it was not consulted or informed of his departure until the announcement hours ago.

The summons arrived shortly before Emin Vedat confirmed he had been summoned to Parliament as well, though that hearing is private and intended to be a "disciplinary hearing".

"We cannot allow the misuse of the open floor of Parliament as a way to spread falsehood even by proxy," Vanguard Chairman Lutfi said in a statement to TSN. "We must ensure that the debate floor is a productive place where solutions are sought after rather than a divisive battleground meant to churn the functions of the state to a halt at the whims of an offended minority."

The Chairman went on to say that all Islamic Socialist Party members were muted for a week while hearings progressed.

Islamic Socialist MPs could not be reached for comment at this time.

Welcome to Anaren's weekly federal election blog, which sums up the week's political news. We've certainly have had a busy few days this week. Here's what happened this week, with the newest posts at the top:

Mansell central in Dallama campaign, what?
This is another question we’ve been getting today. Instead of waiting until tomorrow to answer, we are fully aware that the electorate she governs is going to be voting for or against her in three days time - so let’s just get this sorted now. The short answer is that Mansell being so central in the Dallama Governor campaign means that she probably did not raise her hand during the meeting - although she did confirm that she was going to earlier in the week. It means she will become Governor if she passes the 50%. Although polling looks good for her re-election chances, the personal backlash in seeking to move up to federal then not following through could put her in strife.

It’s reasonably obvious that the party was not confident that she could not get the numbers at this point in time federally, but they still want her in Dallama.

How can a Governor run for PM?
We’ve had the question come through a lot, especially earlier this week. Although written in various ways, the gist was “How can Governor Mansell run for the ACEGAD leadership?”. It all comes back to party rules, with ACEGAD having one of the looser policies. Mansell is currently the Governor of Dallama, and Dallama is going to elections on June 9. So, what could happen is Mansell could resign from the Governorship and appoints her replacement one week before the Dallama election (after she knows whether she has got the numbers or not) and that would be completely fine.

ACEGAD ballot tomorrow
With Prime Minister Kenzai resigning at this election, the Ahnslen Centrists have confirmed that they are holding their ballot for PM candidate at 10am on Saturday. The tipped front runners at the moment are Dallaman Governor Emma Mansell, Foreign Minister Eleane Gifford and Deputy Prime Minister Thomas Wilton. The odds currently have it between Mansell and Wilton, both of whom come from electorates with strong ACEGAD foundations. However, an unexpected and left-of-field although legitimate and worthy candidate sits in Eleane Gifford - one of ACEGAD’s major assets in Norlands. By tomorrow night we should know who will lead ACEGAD to the next election.

Is this the ‘space election’?
With Corindia, Polar Svalbard and Scantarbia reaching to the skies, the notable absence in recent years surrounding space in Ahnslen discussion has to be discussed - particularly the omission of it in politics. ACEGAD are likely to follow an economic-scientific campaign, so space might just come up. Don’t count on it though, there’s always been some bipartisanship in Ainslie’s politics surrounding space and space activities. What Ainslie may be moreso involved with though is the legal regulations surrounding space which is a point where Ahnited and ACEGAD could differ opinions on. Only time will tell though.

Kenzai visits firegrounds

This morning the Prime Minister visited communities in Wesland’s southwest, which have been ravaged by fires and threatened by a decline in water. He flew over the ruined town of Seranah before meeting with firefighters in Ashtown, who have now contained the fire. Kenzai thanked them and then volunteered with locals to organise lunch. He was joined by Brianna Hailes, the Governor of Wesland who delivered a speech to the people of the electorate from the township.

New Party? Nope, it’s a name change...
The United for Ainslie Party, which those who follow political news in between elections will remember was as a merger between the Christian Democrats and APC defectors, has announced that it will change its name at their campaign launch this morning. What was interesting is that the minority party started their campaign early, a rarity in Ahnslen politics. The campaign launch was quite a quiet affair (although not in the words they used) and no former leaders were wheeled out like you’d typically see with the traditional parties. The real takeaway from this launch was that UFA will become known as the Ahnslens United Party or in a more abbreviated form, the Ahniteds.

BREAKING: Joint Air Force and Prime Minister Statement Confirms Successful IRBM Test
6-8-19

Just moments ago, after a missile was seen lifting off from northern Thuzla, a joint PM and Air Force Statement confirmed the successful launch of a IRBM which is "capable of reaching Raedlon and Southern Argus."

"Just a few minutes ago," an Air Force Spokesperson said in a snap press conference, "our engineers and other minds in Thuzbekistan completed a task that had been long put off by other needs. Today, we can confirm that we have successfully launched and guided an IRBM to its crash down target in the South Sea. This achievement comes as the result of thousands of civilians and military personnel alike and is one of the great accomplishments of our time. We now have the means to defend our nation and our revolution from those that would seek to destroy it."

The missile launch follows a failed one earlier this year that exploded after launch, showering debris over Thuzla. However, analysts predicted this launch some time ago.

"Even with the failed launch, most obstacles had been crossed by the time the missile exploded," a University of Baslov Engineering Professor said. "They achieved lift off and stable flight for a few minutes. Excellent for a first real test, despite the issues it had. This second test being completed is probably the result of some minor fix to the missile rather than a complete redesign of the previous one."

This is sure to put some opposition MPs in a difficult position after some called the project "an enormous waste of resources that will take years yet to achieve."

Consul Bellum Klark Zeltargo Condemns Thuzbek Missile Test

ALTA - Early today the Thuzbek government confirmed that it now has IRBM capabilities with a successful test that landed in the Southern Sea. This missile is stated to have a range able to reach Raedlon and Southern Argus putting Polar Svalbard and a majority of her allies firmly in the cross hairs of such a weapon. This is big news considering the hostile relations between Thuzbekistan and the MSTO.

Consul Zeltargo came out quickly with a press release that stated that the Svalbardian government heavily condemns the recent news from Thuzbekistan and demanded that the nation close down the missile program. He also reaffirmed that any attack on a Svalbardian ally by a hostile foreign power to Polar Svalbard will be met with heavy retaliation. Along with that he confirmed that he has no qualms in resorting to the nuclear option in retaliatory strikes.

Second Fleet Seen Heading South Towards Wake Isles

FREXNAKIA - Earlier today there were confirmed reports spotting the Second Fleet heading south towards what can only be assumed as the Wake Isles. No word has come in from the government or military on what their plan is with the second fleet but we at SNN had analysts come in to make assumptions on what would happen.

For the most part the assumptions are that a prolonged engagement is about to begin in the Wake Isles or that the fleet is going to put pressure on Wake Sud or even on New Totzka. We will have to see in the coming days what happens, especially with what is happening in Wake Atolla.

Human Rights Group Rallies As Wake Atolla Village Is Wiped Off The Map

ALTA - Early today big protests occurred at the capital in Alta as human rights groups and First Wave Activists rallied against the recent reports that the air force completely destroyed a Wake Atolla Village.

The report stated that it was confirmed that the village was being used to hide and train insurgents and was being used to create IEDs and store weapons. Nearby villages reported seeing a number of planes drop a large amount of ordinance on the village and some even claim that drones were used to kill anyone running from the village afterwards. Along with that there are claims that the soldiers sent in to confirm what happened killed survivors. The military is denying the secondary claims but did say that the mission was a success and that there were 41 confirmed insurgent kills and that the acceptable collateral damage only totaled at 62.

The protests are still ongoing but are stable with not much changing. Police are having a very hands off approach to this protest and the protesters won't cause any problems to your commute.

Nationale Arbeitsfront made compulsory by popular demand!

| After a short meeting on Thursday morning, the Rijksminister der Wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung (Rijksminister of Economic Development) Wilhelm Frederick Johanns announced outside his Rijksministry building that, after speaking with the rest of the Executive Cabinet, the Nationale Arbeitsfront, the National Labour Front, will now be compulsory for men between aged 18 to 25 who are not employed or are not in university or another educational path such as an apprenticeship. This move was based off the increasing demand by the Rijk's population to make the Nationale Arbeitsfront mandatory, which the government has indeed listened to.

| The Nationale Arbeitsfront gives its members a low-rent, comfortable accomodation in barrack areas, which have Ordnungspolizei presence to keep any Front member from attempting illegal measures. The living quarters in Arbeitsfront camps also have modern canteens, with hearty meals being served to labourers such as currywurst, lamb burgers and pasta dishes, and special Sunday roasts, Easter and Christmas dishes being served near those occasions. Nationale Arbeitsfront camps are now being planned to be built just outside Wilhelmsdorf, and also Auchen, to accommodate the influx of new members now the service is compulsory.

| The first major public works contract given to the Front is expanding the Autobahn network, and also building a new autobahn network through the Goudanpas range, and also to build new road networks for more public transport in the 'majorly disconnected south of the country', as described in this contract.

Saxon Rijk accused the P.R of Thuzbekistan of Disturbing Regional Peace

| A joint-statement from the Führer and the Rijkswehr High Command has accused the red beast of Thuzbekistan of disturbing the region's international peace. Here is an extract from the statement:

"It is clear the People's Republic of Thuzbekistan is determined to deliberately and purposefully disturb the natural order of peace within the Western Isles, and shall do this by any means possible. The recent test of an IRBM which, whilst it cannot reach the glorious Saxon Rijk, can reach Southern Argus, is a danger to the fragile peace with the nations of the region. The Saxon Rijk of Austrovik-Germania demands that the League of the Western Isles formulates severe economic sanctions towards the red menace that is Thuzbekistan, or face the Rijk resigning from the League entirely and taking its own serious action.

| The Intermediate-range ballistic missile referenced in this statement was the one test-fired yesterday, despite the failure of the firing of a different missile earlier this year. The safety of the Austrovik people is assured by the Rijkswehr and the government, and the Führer himself says that he will commit all his power to curtailing the dangerous infection that is red socialism.

President seems to threaten Polar Svalbard in tweet

ELLSBURGH (APA)- President Alasdair Hallowell took to social media on Sunday to make an apparent threat towards Polar Svalbard, Almorea's neighbor to the north, after reports surfaced suggesting current Svalbardian naval movements are meant to pressure the Totzkan Union.

In a tweet posted Sunday morning, President Hallowell said that the Svalbardian Second Fleet "had better watch out!" and cautioned the Svalbardian government to "be careful who you are provoking." The President mentioned the Svalbardian Consul Bellum, Klark Zeltargo, directly by name.

Almorea and Totzka, along with Dragao do Mar, are members of the ALDRATO alliance, which was established in Ellsburgh earlier this year. President Hallowell currently occupies the rotating presidium of the alliance until 2020. Under the terms of the treaty, a hostile action by Svalbard towards Totzka would oblige Almorea to use force in response.

Vessels of the Almorean and Totzkan navies currently cooperate in the Northern Shield Initiative, referred to the President as "impenetrable". The initiative aims to patrol waters near Svalbardian maritime boundaries.

The Second Fleet may be heading south towards the Wake Isles, recently the scene of unrest by native First Wave peoples against the Svalbardian government. The Almorean government has so far declined to issue a statement clarifying its position on the situation, even after the destruction of a village on Wake Atolla by the Svalbardian air force.

After President Hallowell's threat had been retweeted over 200,000 times, Secretary of State Kirk Thurson issued a statement through his personal spokesman, saying that "the President speaks for the government with regards to foreign policy" and reiterating that "any attack on Totzkan assets will be met with a full, unwavering Almorean response." The State Department refused to comment on the situation in the Wake Isles.

SÂTÊP NARROWLY AGREES TO CONSTITUTIONAL COUNCIL, 'UHITAP RETURNS TO SERVICE

SHUHAKALLU - In his first act upon returning after his stroke last year, 'uhitap Âspu Kashaka has pushed the Sâtêp into pursuing immediate discussions to formalize a written constitution for Mênna Shuli. Votes by the present senators equaled 63 for, 4 absent, 3 abstaining and 25 against. The 'uhitap himself cast the 64th vote for, allowing for the two-thirds supermajority required to pass the measure. With this, Mênna Shuli will be pursuing the controversial measure of writing a constitution, a political situation which has often been conflated with low caste enfranchisement measures and modernization measures.

"Our traditions are important," stated a release from the 'uhitap's office, "but we cannot allow tacit and de facto legislation control the destiny of the Mênna. Our nation is built on an order laid down by our ancestors, and we cannot allow rigid opposition to seemingly foreign ideals lead us towards a state of anarchy."

Opponents to constitutionalism have criticized the 'uhitap's move, stating that he utilized the surprise of his return coupled with sympathy for his health to manipulate the vote to a result it normally wouldn't have acheived. According to these critics, the rousing response to formulating a constitution was only achieved because many senators felt "compelled to agree with any measure the 'uhitap supported, given the admitted bravery of his return to activity given the state of his body." These opponents claim that the vote was "forced through without discussion to blindside the collected senators" and that it should be brought back to Sâtêp discussions. They likewise criticized the 'uhitap's use of elective prerogative to sway the results to success.

"The irony," stated Kivêla Hitap Luktsha, who has stepped down from his role as 'uhitap a Tempore with the return of 'uhitap Âspu, "is that a written constitution would solidify their complaints into legislation, allowing them a means to actually pursue their accusations legitimately."

It is unclear at this time what shape a constitution, if any, will take. "There is much to be done before any constitution becomes a legal entity in Mênna Shuli."

Ar'ksens pride month events have been known to attract many tourists from across The Western Isles, this year Ar'ksen has been struck with an unpresident tourism during the pride month period, resulting in many hotels around the Ar'ksen region to be booked out.
Carelio Sel'varona, speaker of the Ar'ksen regional tourism department has sent out a call for locals to "open their houses, extra beds and couches in the spirit of Aruian visitors." additional she called for the government to backup the public transportation across the nation in light of the spike in tourism during the pride month events.

A recent survey by some Svalbardian think-tank (why are they here asking questions anyway instead in Wake Islands?) indicated that Magaratis tend to score relatively high when it comes to stuff like general knowledge. Maybe 12 hours of school has some advantages as our students cover topics that education ministers in other nations feel are unimportant. Well, turns out probably not. Most of the Magaratis who took part in that survey failed miserably at almost every question related to Dormill and Stiura. We in Libang Herald refused to acknowledge this. After all, it was a Svalbardian think-tank. They had some hidden agenda to show that our students were worthy of just the A-Grade. Which was why we took to the streets to ask students questions about "Enemy Number 1" ourselves.

Three simple questions asked and they all fail. So we tried asking questions about other nations (which we won't talk about here) and they all scored 100%. We also tried asking questions related to Dormill and Stiura a little bit differently.

Student A+: Dormill and Stiura was the Number 1 slaver nation in the Isles. This is why we refer to them as Enemy Number 1!

And we say there is no history revisionism in this country! No offense to our Doraltic friends but you guys are seen as the Number 1 enemy here. After all, Serangchongbang Hang was scared shitless and formed multiple Coalition just so that them little hangates would not be swallowed by Dormill and Stiuraian Empire like Sunuwar Hangate. And yes, Sunuwar Hangate was invaded by the Doraltics; but it was revenge for all those centuries of their people being enslaved by Khas-Kirati raiders and sold to Noronnican plantation owners or Marian nobility. We are still bitter that we had to free some 4 million (mostly Doraltic) slaves after the First Central Argus War ended and that we lost the war.

Magaratis should be thankful to the Doraltics for helping in uniting the divided hangates against a common enemy. We Magaratis should be grateful that at least almost everyone in those pesky foreign nations knows that New Libang is the capital of Athara Magarat and where we are located.

Vancouvian Congress Authorizes Massive Changes in Vancouvian Occupation Zone of Charbagnia

The Vancouvian Occupation Zone in former Charbagnia has undergone a revitalization today, after an early morning policy statement was released by the Vancouvian Congress, which outlined broad strokes changes for the large central-south swath of the country. The following summarizes the changes outlined by Congress:

1. The Vancouvian Occupation Zone will henceforth be renamed as "Vancouvian Agnion" and the residents there living will be known as the "Agnionese"

2. Vancouvian Agnion shall be governed under the laws of Vancouvia as a "Special Region" and shall be governed by a committee of Agnionese appointed by the Vancouvian Congress for two year terms. All Agnionese shall be granted much of the same rights as Vancouvian citizens, but shall not legally be Vancouvian citizens

3. All Agnionese are permitted the right to request relocation rights to the Vancouvian mainland and Vancouvian citizenship. Preference shall be given to those with needed and uncommon skills, and those signing on to the Vancouvian military

4. The border crossings with the neighboring zones shall be closed for a period of thirty days, effective immediately, with some rare exceptions

5. The Vancouvian military shall begin a "prolonged withdrawal" from Agnion, concurrent with the training and deployment of a 10,000+ strong Agnionese Defense Force

6. Vancouvian English shall be the national language, gradually replacing the currently de facto German. The Vancouvian cove shall be the national currency. Vancouvian holidays shall be celebrated alongside former Charbagnian holidays

7. Vancouvian businesses shall be permitted and encouraged to "develop, build, hire, buy, sell, and otherwise conduct commerce" in Agnion


These changes impact the roughly five million former Charbagnians living in Agnion, the most populous zone of former Charbagnia. Locals have already swept to the streets en masse, with both pro and anti-Vancouvian demonstrations underway. Helmwerder, the former capital of greater Charbagnia where roughly 3.2 million citizens reside, has polled largely pro-Vancouvia, in contrast with the more rural areas of the territory. Commentators have speculated that the more highly skilled, richer, English-fluent Helmwerders have a much better opportunity to be approved for Vancouvian citizenship.

Main concerns from the Agnionese are the possible brain-drain resulting from Vancouvian intentions to approve "the best and brightest" for Vancouvian citizenship, the seemingly overt dismantling of Charbagnian culture, and the continued lack of governmental representation. Congress has already addressed the last concern, releasing a statement late this afternoon that a transition to "self-determination and Agnion democracy" will occur within the next four years.

Roughly 5,000 Vancouvian National Army soldiers were deployed to Agnion the preceding week, likely in order to preempt any sort of mass uprising or dissent from the neighboring zones.

It is still unknown whether Vancouvian allies Noronica and Ostehaar were briefed on these radical changes before today. The northern French Republic of Charbagnia is likely to react negatively.

We all know that the Charbagnian War ended months ago. Magarati neo-imperialists got Kachee as their protectorate of sorts. Almost immediately, the laughably incompetent Magarati government started receiving threats from French Republic of Charbagnia (who have Enemy Number 1 Dormill and Stiura as their sugar daddy). And we all know what happened next for the Magarati paper tigers. In a move that Magarati citizens called "appeasement of Doraltic and Charbagnian aggressors", the Jrm Hangma administration and (former) Sultan Yonghang offered Kachee's merger with French Republic of Charbagnia; provided that the latter treated the former as a special autonomous region. Things were going as expected until good old Wellsia decided to barge in, overthrew Sultan Yonghang in a not-so-covert operation and installed a five-man council that answered to them. Wellsian ships now patrol Kachee and their soldiers flex their sexy muscles as Kachee women stare at them.

While this shit-fuckery was going on for months, someone forgot to tell the Vancouvian Congress that war in Charbagnia was over. Which is why, only yesterday did they announce the formation of Agnion. I cannot imagine what it must have gone for VSF or VNA. Some VNA soldier out there must have been super-pissed. "You are telling us war ended months ago and we have been murdering technically Vancouvian citizens till now? And here I was wondering why we are not seeing any more Noronnican or Magaratis dying from our friendly fires!"

Vancouvia is a modern-day colonialist nation and they are proud of that fact. So proud that they are literally calling their new territory "Vancouvian Agnion" like in the good old days. Imagine Magarati Kachee or now Wellsian Kachee; or Doraltic Charbagnia. Or Svalbardian Wake Atoll. Wait, that's a thing?

And like all good colonizers; the Vancouvians know where to start best that by language imposition. German will no be replaced by Vancouvian English. And Vancouvian Congress announced "prolonged withdrawl" from Agnion all the while sending 5,000 VNA soldiers to curb dissent. Dammit Vancouvian Congressmen and Congresswomen! Pick an option not both!

As for international support for Vancouvian Agnion; it has already started with the Hang of Khumbuwan and the Second Tamuwan Hang declaring Agnion a Vancouvian territory. These two men have been seen together a lot lately. They were also the first among our local buffons to announce support for Polar Svalbard in the Wake Atoll bleepfest. Then and now, they have been ahead of Jrm Hangma in making public statements.

Speaking of Jrm Hangma, what does she even do nowadays? The last time she made a public announcement was declaring national emergency over Hornet War. Before that, the only public statement she made that I remember now is "Illa Islanders are now off the list of Arun Valley Protocol after they were found supporting terrorists and Vancouvian Congress totally did not pressurize us or anything". You say what you say, Hangma. It was just a great coincidence that you and some Vancouvian Congress members announced some railway project and building yet another bridge connecting Magarati mainland and the International District. It was just a great coincidence that Magarati soldiers were in Charbagnia when that announcement was made.

Junine Celebrations of 2019 are already the most expensive in the Marian history

The Junine Celebrations, know as "Festas Juninas" in Dragão do Mar, are historical and multicultural festivities that happen all along the month of June in many cities and towns across Dragão do Mar. In has origins in the Medieval Dragão do Mar, when Tabajaras, at the end of the winter, celebrated the goddesses Jaci and Miriagna, that are related to fertility, making prayers and sacrifices to guarantee abundant harvests. In the 20th century, at the 40's, the Jacirian comunity in Dragão do Mar came back with the tradition of making celebrations in the month of June, and incorporated many other elements of the Marian culture, and with that they attracted most of the Marians to participate to the celebrations in their own cities, despite their individual beliefs.

Several Marian cultural manifestations are present in the Junine Celebrations, for example, the Marian traditional music, cuisine, dances, arts and folklore. Consequently, June is considered the month where tourists can get to know the Marian culture in a much more immersive way, attracting thousands of visitors to Dragão do Mar every year, in the month of June. Due to this characteristic, this celebration is one of the most important in the country, responsible to stimulate the Marian economy in sectors as hotel businesses, services and commerce.

To take advantage of the economic potential of the Junine Celebrations, the Marian government provides funds to the festivity every year since the 60's. However, in the last month, Prime Minister Paulo Lacerda announced a ambitious plan to boost the Marian tourism and bussinesses with the 2019 Junine Celebrations. In his statement:
"In the past years, the Marian population witnessed a real indifference of our executive power, that, by cutting several investments destinated to the culture, didn't attend to the popular desire to use all the potential of the Junine Celebrations to commemorate the Marian traditions and attract foreign capital. During my mandate, this misuse of our capacity to thrive will not happen again. In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, I'm announcing that in this year we will quadriplicate the funds destinated to the financing of cultural and touristic attractions during the Junine Celebrations."
With that, the federal government expects to bring 10x more tourists to Dragão do Mar during the period of June than in the last year, therefore, no financial loss is being spected.

In the middle of the month of June, the increace of governmental funds to the Junine Celebrations already showed results. So far, in this month 6 musical festivals had already happen, while in June of the last year only 2 music festivals happened. Also, 424 municipalities will have festivities funded by the Ministry of Culture in this month, while in the last year only 118 received funds to finance their Junine Celebrations.

Führer and His Majesty Demand Independent German Republic in Charbagnia

| After a brief meeting with the Führer und Ministerpräsident Adolf von Hersmann, and His Royal Majesty King Wilhelm Micheal I, and then further conferences with members of our great Volk's Rijkstag - the greatest symbol of Saxon True Democracy - the Austrovik government has formulated as campaign for the Germanic peoples of Charbagnia to gain their right to independence under a Germanic, Saxon True Democracy.

| After a short press conference in Auchen, the Rijskminister der Internationalen Angelegenheiten (International Affairs), Konstantin Frick, made this statement outside the Rijksministry building of his department:

'The Saxon Rijk of Austrovik-Germania, along with the people within her borders, wish to see their German brethren released from foreign control from the imperialist, ignorant and outright arrogant attitude of the occupying overlords to the Germanic peoples who wish to have their own independent state. The Rijk will commit all available time and effort into instigating the proper and moral way to come about the creation of a Germanic, True Democracy, much like the Austrovik Rijk, to allow the Germanic Volk within these wrongly occupied territories to be free, and intermingle with their brethren from our great nation. The Rijksministry der Internationalen Angelegenheiten will issue a demand for a plebiscite to be held for areas of majority-German speakers within the Charbagnian Federation's occupied zones, and also demands that Austrovik Ordnungspolizei officers are permitted into polling stations to keep the peace. The latter is optional, of course, but the Germanic people must have a say.'

Vancouvia Begins Violation of Germanic Rights in "Special Region"

| Just yesterday, the Vancouvian creation of Vancouvian Agnion within the same island of Charbagnia further violated the rights of the German people who, for many-a-year, had lived peacfully. Not only was the occupational and imperialistic overlords here to stay, but the were planning this motion to do with language:

"Vancouvian English shall be the national language, gradually replacing the currently de facto German. The Vancouvian cove shall be the national currency. Vancouvian holidays shall be celebrated alongside former Charbagnian holidays."

Tempers flare in Bundestag

Earlier today, tempers flared in the Bundestag — Paratan's highest legislative body — over the latest act King Wilfrith V enacted last night, which outlawed firearm usage by any resident that is not in the military. Bundestag member Colin Marley, leader of the opposition, states that "[t]he King's Firearm Reduction Act will dismantle our nation from top down. We need to put a stop to this tyranny", and that "[t]he Crown is not ever-lasting. If [Paratan] stands up for [them]selves, then [they] can overthrow [the Tyranny]."

However, Ameyalli Notah had something else to say when interviewed last night. According to him, "[the KFRA] is a huge step in putting Paratan back into the sacred state it was before those [...] Germanians came years ago," and that "the kingdom is a good way to keep the Germanian majority from governing these sacred lands."

LGBTQ+ Pride Events Kick Off in Earnest Across Brulafi, Expected to Be Largest Turnout on Record

DUDLEYTOWN- Festivities celebrating LGBTQIA+, or GRSM (Gender, Romantic and Sexual Minorities) Pride this month have already begun pushing attendance records so far and are expected only to grow even larger, according to the Secretariat of Internal Affairs in a memo published late Thursday afternoon. Pride parades and events have been nothing new in Brulafi, with the first being a government-sanctioned parade in Turbay to celebrate the legalization of homosexuality in 1967. Up until now, the largest events had occurred in 1981 and 1982 to commemorate the Brulafi People's Health Board updating their charter to prohibit doctors from denying hormone replacement or other gender-transitioning surgeries and procedures to patients. Indeed, Brulafi has had an extremely progressive and inclusive policy towards the community, especially when compared to other nations across the region and even in the immediate vicinity of the country. This had led to the development of a subset of the tourism industry in Brulafi known as "LGBTQ tourism," itself leading to the number of people from foreign countries visiting Brulafi pride parades amounting to almost 40-50% depending on the area. Increasing tourist visits to the country are cited by the Secretariat as the reason for the record number of attendees at Pride events across the country. While it's not known why this year specifically is the record-breaking year for foreign and general attendance, it's generally believed that the rise of reactionary and other far-right parties across the Isles has made many GRSM members feel unsafe in their home countries. Therefore, they may flee, if for a moment, to a safe haven that welcomes them like Brulafi.

Do they give a dam?
Another electoral division to watch is Elwin, which is centred around Manning’s largest city, Rathane. A major local issue is the construction of a new dam which is expected to reduce river flows into the city yet tipped to dramatically improve the city’s water secrrity. In an odd turn of events, environmentalists are protesting against Katrina Eveneau, the STP inclumbent, in the division for her stance in support of the dam. This strange divergence between science and environment is an interesting challenge the STP have not had to yet face in recent years.

Kentarre? That judge is running?
Yes, it is official. The man who survived the most significant dissolution of the Courts we have seen in modern Ahnslen history, was a major contributor to the Buzz review and yet still remains popular in the country is running to be an Independent Senator. And it’s going to be in his backyard in the division of Henden. The Conservative Party’s Arthur Negarin holds one of the party’s only seats in Ainslie by a 3.2% margin. With significant ACEGAD investment in the electorate, it appears that they might’ve been eyeing the seat. With the entrance of Kentarre, it could be very hard for the party to flip that seat to light blue. Kentarre, although only recently being open about his politics, seems to be a happy medium between the rural conservatives and the young liberals of Highland Ridge. This electoral division is perhaps the one that has demographically changed the most since last election, so it’ll certainly be one to watch.

What’s in a name?
Following UFA’s name change, the long standing liberal left party has changed its name from the LLST to the Science and Technology Party (STP). Nothing else seems to have altered in the party except for the name, although time will tell. We asked Political Scientist Dr Rohan Harrane why so many parties were changing names, to which he replied that “parties may not want their name - their immediate brand - to limit them in what they can do ideologically”.

Voters in Dallama haven’t taken well to the reintroduction of Governor Mansell at the electoral level. After not getting the numbers in the race to be ACEGAD’s Prime Ministerial Candidate, she almost didn’t get the numbers in her own electorate - ACEGAD heartland. Whilst her and her party will still enjoy its long standing majority in the electorate, Federal ACEGAD will be holding its breath, hoping that the 7% swing against her will not translate to the national elections.

Gifford wins leadership ballot
Foreign Minister Eleane Gifford will become the second ever female party candidate for Ahnslen PM and the second in ACEGAD. In a ballot where Deputy PM Wilton, Defence Minister Pat Carboni and herself stood, the popular Norlander got the numbers. Leaving the building where they were conducting this ballot, she had her first words to the media. Here they are:

“ACEGAD is the party not just for the East, but for the whole nation”

Commentators believe her win is part of a wider ACEGAD strategy to break down the east v west political tribalism and also a response to the threat the Ahnited party pose across the entire nation, including the west and south where the rulng party has performed well.

Second Tamuwan Hangate opens memorial for 338 victims of the Hornet War

The Hornet War 338 Memorial in Ghan Pokhara, Second Tamuwan Hangate

The government of Second Tamuwan Hangate has publicly announced the opening of their memorial for 338 victims (so far) of the Hornet War. The memorial has been built in the outskirts of Ghan Pokhara, the hangate's capital city. More than half of the deceased hail from Second Tamuwan Hangate and their government had long considered it their duty to respect the victims.

"We apologize for our failure to protect Tamuwani citizens." Tanahu Hang of Second Tamuwan Hangate said in public conference. "This memorial contains the names of victims only during the peak period of February, March and April. There were significantly less number of the deceased during May and I promise on the behalf of the Second Tamuwani government that we will establish another memorial for the few who are yet to be remembered in coming days."

The remaining victims mostly hail from Liba Hangate or Hangate of Sinja with a few from Hangate of Khumbuwan but they all have been included in the Ghan Pokhara memorial. The highly controversial Thebe Kulung Hang of Khumbuwan (who blames a "Central Canal immigration invasion" for gang wars in his hanagte) was quick to thank his "Tamuwani special friend" and blamed Liba Hangate and Arun Valley for the deaths.

"The deaths would have been significantly lower if they all had listened to my idea. Sorry, it was not only my idea. Quite a lot of people supported it. I told them we should round up all these super hornets and ship them to an uninhabited island. But no, the political elites of Liba Hangate and Arun Valley felt the deaths of Magaratis were totally excusable in order to protect the environment of some uninhabited island. What has this 'great sacrifice' done for us? The whole world is laughing at our incompetent Aruneli and Libangi dominated central administration which allowed more than 300 Magaratis to die just like that. And many are still dying. And let's not even talk about the livestock."

Karma Hangma of Liba Hangate, in her own public conference at New Libang, thanked Magaratis for staying together with the government in the crisis. She said that "hangates have to stop blaming each other and work with the central administration to minimize the risks". Heavy rainfall throughout the month of May significantly lowered the number of human and animal deaths from hornet stings and scientists proved that the fungus also had a hard time spreading its spores to infect other hornets during this time. However, curfew still remains in the Tamuwan region, Sinja, Liba Hangate and southeastern Khumbuwan. Both scientists and the Magarati government warn that once the heavy rainfall stops, the deaths from the hornets (which are now at figures of less than five per week in contrast to dozens of death every day in February) will rise once again.

ALDRATO Grand Council to meet in São Tiago, North Mesder Armada strengthened

The Grand Council of ALDRATO, which consists of the heads of government of the alliance’s member states, are to meet in São Tiago. This coincides with an announcement made last week by the National Armed Forces Supreme Command that the North Mesder Armada was to be strengthened with assets from the southern Mesder Armada.

The conference between Améro, Hallowell and Lacerda will take place on next Thursday at the airbase TAF São Tiago. The agenda for the conference is currently unknown although it will likely concern the recent actions of the Svalbardian military in the Wake Atoll. Polar Svalbard has recently taking extreme actions to crush Wakeite separatist movements, such as indiscriminately killing civilians in ‘search and destroy’ operations in an attempt to bomb the island into submission. Alta illegally occupied the island in 2016, violating the 1990 Treaty of Karanoa in which Polar Svalbard and Totzka both agreed to a policy of non-intervention over the Wake Islands. The media of the Polar Svalbard has also begun an campaign of using highly aggressive rhetoric against Wake Sud, the last independent Wake Isle. Alta has accused Wake Sud of supporting resistant efforts in Wake Atoll and North Wake, a possible pretence to justify a Svalbardian invasion of the island. In a recent poll 71% of Totzkan’s surveyed said the government should take action to prevent Alta taking control of Wake Sud.

The conference will coincide with the movement of elements of the Totzkan Union Navy from the Mesder Armada, based on the south coast, to the North Mesder Armada. Although the NAFSC spokesperson was reluctant to give details multiple Corvettes and Frigates will be moved along with Revolução-Class Assault Ship, TUNS Unificação and its support vessels. The ships are expected to arrive at Cas Vilsti on Wednesday. The spokesperson chose not to comment on whether the navy was deliberately strengthening its northern fleet in response to the emerging crisis in the Wake Islands.

Earlier this week in a government staff meeting president Del'falco wad quoted saying over Vancouvias actions in Charbagina: "this Is a typical Vancouvian behavior, nothing shocking or new. Its characteristic to Vancouvia, its rooted deep in their blood." This quickly spread through many of the opposition leaders accusing Del'falco of collectivisim and hate speech
"Del'falco finally shows his true faces, we knew he could not keep his farce any longer and the charade ends here. Del'falco should be impitched before election for this hateful remarks." said senetor Ar’tio Elando leader of the Socialist Gael and member of the opposition in a press conference.
Del'falcos office published a statement saying "This was not a hate speach rather a remark on the Vancouvian imperialistic ideology that is not new, Vancouvia has a history of expansion to reach places it has no Business in. Del'falco simply remarked that it is not new to the staff and should not come as a surprise recent actions. Senator Elando would do well to sit this one out as he himself expressed a some condemning remarks over Vancouvias intentions in Gael."

About four months after Renaut and his reformed KCDP party won the elections, the first purely democratically elected leader of Keverai has welcomed the leader of Scantarbia to the nation’s shores. Leaving Arcturus, having embarked on a tour to multiple different nations, Dr Nicetas Akylas, a PhD graduate in Astrophysics, he has sought to foreground Scantarbia in several industries including renewable technologies, telecommunications and astrotechnology.

Yesterday at Kevara Gardens, the two men met for the first time in a lunch meeting where work was ‘not on the table’. Today, however, Renaut finalised negotiations with the Scantarbian leader that began months ago between the different ministers of the two nations. The two leaders also held a press conference this afternoon to reveal these new measures they have agreed on.

“Before I begin, I would like to extend a warm and public welcome to Dr Akylas, my colleague and friend from Scantarbia. Our two nations, although sharing many strategic interests, have not yet had as extensive discussions as we’ve had over the past few months.

To that end, our two governments have a broad range of new measures which will improve trade between our two economies and also strengthen our relationship
Keverai has always had an overdependence on imported energy sources such as coal. This, both for environmental and strategic reasons must be at the very least reduced. I am happy to say that the Scantarbians have agreed to come alongside our admittedly small renewable tech industry to train and grow it using their expertise. In the short term, there will also be many solar and wind farms built to immeaditely trigger an effect on the Keveraite grid.

Moreover, we have agreed to source goods from the Scantarbian defence industry although specifics have not been completely reached. This will help us to modernise and increase our capabilities.

Furthermore, Scantarbia and Keverai stands to improve trade not just regionally but globally. We have signed today a preliminary agreement which sets out a course to deregulate our finance sectors and encourage the importation of Scantarbian rare earth minerals. ”

In addition to this, they have agreed to bolster the lines of communication between Kevara and Arcturus, particularly on Southern Sea affairs.

Political commentators have highlighted that Akylas was quite a left-field choice to be the first visit of an international leader to Keverai post-election. However, a visit from a technocratic nation is particularly notable given Keverai’s meritocratic past and how the non-democratic past of the nation has become a topic many citizens hold strong hostility to.

Yet, these same commentators are acknowledging the similarities of Scantarbia and Keverai and their potential to forge a close relationship both economically and diplomatically. Akylas and Renaut, both relatively young leaders, seem to be the men to bring the relationship of the two nations forward to a brighter future for both of them.

First Major Battle In Wake Atolla Confirmed

We finally have solid confirmation of a solid ground battle between Svalbardian forces and insurgents in Wake Atolla.

Another convoy heading to the Southern part of the island was ambushed although this time it was by a larger force of irregulars that tried to stay behind to kill more soldiers. Instead the brave men and women in that convoy took the initiative and got into defensive positions, putting up return fire, and called in for support. From what our photographers were able to get pictures of, our analysts suggest that our amazing airforce was able to drop a large amount of ordinance extremely, close to the road into the forest, in what they call a 'danger-close strike'.

Wake Isles Command disclosed that 2 men were killed in the attack, the names of which are unreleased for now, and would not go into specifics on how many were wounded. We here at SNN pray for the families of the soldiers who died and pray for those that are injured.

This comes off the back of some silence in the Wake Isles. It seems that the insurgents are content to take their time with this, just as the military is taking its time with this. Our analysts believe that the insurgents are trying to pick their targets and plan while our military is trying to keep the status quo as best as it can without adversely causing harm to interests on the island. We do know though that the second fleet has deployed around the island and has set up an arms embargo and is also tangentially assigned to an arms embargo on Wake Sud.

Whether this attack will embolden or push back the insurgents is anyone's guess but we wish the best for soldiers stationed in the Wake Isles.

Consul Samantha Hartega Announces New Svalbardian Plans For Raedlon

Earlier today Consul Hartega announced that Polar Svalbard would be pushing for increased friendship and inter-connectivity between the nations on and around Raedlon. She stated that one of the goals of her administration in this cycle would be bringing the nations of Raedlon together in a closer bond.

To start she stated that she would be visiting each nation to discuss a number of topics and to try and see through any issues that nations may have with Polar Svalbard.

KING LOOKING FOR A CONSORT

In an interview with King Leon III at the joust Saturday he hinted at marriage but quickly jumped to a different subject entirely.
Today however we got confirmation, King Leon is looking for a wife to rule beside him.

As ancient tradition a consort can help bring nations closer and prove useful diplomatically, though the king seems mor intent on keeping his bloodline alive.
The real question is if any nations are willing to step up, perhaps another royal fancies our king, this would also stick with the tradition of only marrying royalty, but maybe that is a stigma to be broken.

PREPARING FOR DEPLOYMENT

There has been increased activity on the base with the majority of Scantarbian surface fleet docked on the Port of Aldebaran. This level of activity is unseen before except in wartime conditions. Firstly, we need to know that the militarized Outer Taurus Island acts as a giant island-wide military base for Scantarbian Armed Forces, providing essentially everything for operating an entire army and it is heavily defended from air, sea, and land invasion. It also acts as a staging point for our troops if they ever going to go on deployment.

You could see in the distance the SNS Mare Imbrium is currently being loaded with logistics and vehicles. Flying around us and on the ground right there, we could see Mi-26 helicopters, also known as the behemoth, transporting equipment across the island, wow they are really huge helicopters. Hey! Turn the camera right there fast! A single An-225 is on its final approach to land on the airbase, carrying logistics from other parts of the island. As you can see here everything is being prepared for a deployment, or at least that is what I could infer from this vantage point.

Now, earlier this morning, we are able to contact and initiate a short discussion with the VP, Johannes Setiabudi, asking his comments on what is currently going on here in Outer Taurus Island that is currently bustling with activity. He explained to us that our troops are going to aid Menna Shuli and Miklanian Armed Forces to topple down a corrupt regime. The regime that we’re talking about here is widely known to have intimate ties with cartels and terrorist groups inside its territory. What we mean here is the regime of San Javier. Now this ties has a possible domino effect throughout the entire region destroying the already fragile stability existing inside the status quo. Therefore the circumstances require us to maintain stability in the region to prevent the forces of evil to spread outwards of San Javier and brought harm upon our calm islands.

The operation itself, nicknamed, "Hephaestus Sword", will be in effect as soon as the fleet made its rendezvous with Menna Shuli and Miklanian Fleets already operating in the region. Our troops will be focused more on support and reconnaissance instead of actual offensive, although this might change in a later date. May the stars bless our troops in this mission. Orsandian Parliament Passes Sweeping Economic Relief Bill

YANG KONG- In the midst of the daunting efforts made by Orsandia and the Isles community to undertake reconstruction and relief efforts in Western Orsandia, the Orsandian parliament passed a controversial 3.2 trillion OSJ comprehensive spending bill, upending a weeks-long gridlock on the bill from fiscal hardliners in the Orsandian Coalition, which comprising of the centre-right Conservatives, Federalists, and Libertarian parties. In a 274-226 vote, several members of the Conservatives shifted their votes alongside the Liberal Democrats, helping capitalize Prime Minister Williamson's steadfast effort to push the bill through and secure a majordi policy victory in spite of months of tension and governmental disagreements on how to address relief efforts.

"We cannot rely entirely on the international community to help us at the moment, aid and support has been limited at best, so this passage was a pleasant victory for the Orsandian people." said Emmett Lee, MP of Rouecaster.

The bill itself, comprises of a 2.2 trillion OSJ economic stimulus package intended to artificially spur additional economic growth and recovery to the Orsandian markets, down nearly 42% near the onset of the West Orsandia conflict. The bill, expected to be signed by Williamson this evening, will also call for lowering the import tariff rate to 0%, lowering interest rates by 2.5%, and creating thousands of jobs in West Orsandia to get displaced and unemployed citizens back to work. An additional 1 Trillion OSJ will be allocated to funding reconstruction and relief efforts, providing funding for infrastructure repairs, and providing displaced citizens with food,water, and medical based resources that are in high demand throughout the region, in addition to defense funding to allow the Orsandian military to requisition materials and manpower to spearhead humanitarian peacekeeping & relief efforts alongside Dormill-Stiurian troops that have remained in Western Orsandia at the request of the Orsandian Government.
