Trans actress Danielle Mendes starring as Jesus Christ.

Theatrical performance about the Easter starred by a trans woman revolts Christians

Yeasterday, April 20th, the play "Os Crucificados da Atualidade", or "The Contemporary Crucified", was staged in Fortaleza in the "Páscoa Para Todos" festival, which counted with displays of movies, musical presentations and theatrical performances. Starring as Jesus Christ, the trans woman Danielle Mendes was accused of disrespecting the christian faith and caused revolt in conservative Marians.

The play received financial support of the Secretary of Culture of Fortaleza and was directed by Antônio Figo, who graduated in Visual Arts by the Federal University of Meireles. Interviewed by our reporter, Figo said “The part of Danielle in the play was to represent the suffering that Jesus passed two thousand years ago, and to represent the suffering passed by the LGBT population in Dragão do Mar and in radically conservative countries as San Jimenez, Thuzbekistan and Balnik. As a actress, she performed the part in excellent way and with total respect to the religious icon of Christianism. I'm sure that everyone who's criticizing her did never watch the play, and are taking images out of context as reference”.

The federal deputy Luiz Fiuza, of the Catholic Conservative Party (PCC), posted in his social networks photos of Danielle Mendes in the scene of crucification, with messages against the actress “Disgusting. These are images that completely shock and revolt me. That's what they wish to do with their so-called freedom of expression? To disrespect our sacred faith with the support of public money? And after all I am the one who gets called intolerant...”

The actress Danielle Mendes said to our reporter “Unfortunately, nowadays people hold too much to religious symbols and forgot the most important thing that Jesus taught to humanity: to love. I'm evangelical, and I know that to love the others as ourselves is the most important principle of Christianism. Those who are questioning my part as Jesus didn't understand my intention. I wanted to show to our people that the hardships that every LGBT knows aren't so different to hardships that Jesus passed”.

The federal deputy Amanda Menezes, of Marian Workers' Party (PTM), also pronounced in her social networks “Such hatred over the play is evidently caused by prejudice stimulated by intellectually dishonest and opportunist religious and conservative leaders. Their only objective of defame lesbians, gays and transsexuals through the manipulation of information, increasing the homophobia in the minds and hearts of our population”. The deputy Menezes, know for leading rallies of the Unified Republican Movement in the last year, became an active advocate of social progressivism and gender equality in the Chamber of Deputies of Dragão do Mar since the elections of 2018.

Prime Minister van der Lang resigns

By: Martijn van Dalen

The Prime Minister has resigned.

After the leak of thousands of documents implicating individuals in the public eye of tax evasion and in some cases, fraud, Edwin van der Lang threw in the towel and resigned from his post as prime minister.

While the investigation remains ongoing, the allegations were enough to have forced the Prime Minister to step down.

Evidence released on Wedenesday by the attorney general show that the Prime Minister across his 9 year tenure in that role saved more than $4 million by evading taxes.

The maximum sentence for tax evasion is upto 35 years imprisonment, but sentences are given taking the time span of the evasion and the total evaded.

Van der Lang could face anywhere between 3-7 years in prison taking similar cases into account.

He gave a statement on national television at 9am this morning.

''Following the leak of falsified documents last week, I have decided to resign to allow someone else to lead this nation whilst I defend myself in a court of law. These documents are built on sand and are falsified. I would never commit any form of crime against this country; one I love dearly and have led for nine years. The Conservative party will name my replacement in the coming days.''

Many cited the statement of the Prime Minister as damning proof he is in the wrong.

One user on social media said ''you can run but you can't hide''. Another said ''he says he is innocent but tries to make a run for it hmm''.

Reports say that Hugo Muller could succeed van der Lang as the first ethnically German prime minister in Tausklandic history.

More on this braking news later.

Yhaiva votes on independence

Image
According to the most recent polls 89.1% of the Yhaivans would answer yes to independence.

Over 3 million Yhaivans will head to the polling booths to vote on whether or not Yhaiva will secede from the Totzkan Union and form an independent country. After several months of lobbying, campaigning and even a delay of the referendum date tonight’s vote may lead to the largest political change in Totzka since the Union was formed in 1979. If Yhaiva does vote for independence FPANY, the party responsible for leading the independence campaign and who also control all three Yhaivan state governments, have said they will aim to see Yhaiva fully independent by 2021.

The question put to Yhaiva is “Should the governments of the State of Terra de Rosma, Terra de Salash and Terra de Osho secede from Totzkan Union and form an independent nation of Yhaiva?” According to the most recent polls 89.1% of the Yhaivans would answer yes. Perceptions of corruption within the Federal Government (particularly in regard to President Améro), a belief that the Yhai are culturally marginalised and the desire to control Yhaiva’s own resources were cited as the most common reasons Yhaivans want to leave the Union.

Almost all non-Ethnic Yhai citizens of Yhaiva questioned, such as the Ilhan and Pamil settler populations, said they would answer “no” in today’s poll, claiming they would be marginalised within the new country. 53% said they would strongly consider emigrating from Yhaiva in the event of independence. Their cause has been taking up be groups like the Segunda Cláusula Movement and the so-called ‘Army of 1901’ which have lobbied the federal government to allow Non-Yhai majority areas in the south of Yhaiva to remain within the Totzkan Union. Outside of Yhaiva 61.2% of Totzkans said the federal government should intervene to “protect the rights and property of non-Yhai citizens living in Yhaiva” in the event of a pro-independence vote.

However, President Améro’s guarantees to FPANY, the Front For The Yhai Nation, continue to impede any such efforts. Shortly after suffering disastrous defeats in the Comissão Popular elections last November Améro promised FPANY, the party responsible for leading the independence campaign, that he would not prevent the party from invoking Article 5 of the Totzkan Constitution, enabling the three Yhai states to seek independence from the Totzkan Union via referenda. In return it appears FPANY party leader Ado'Osho Kimba promised to support the government within the Comissão Popular until the referendum. While this political manoeuvring ensured Améro could continue to pass legislation unimpeded by opposition in the Comissão Popular it did result in massive drop in his approval ratings from 59% disapproval to 93%.

There are also concerns about what form the new Yhai nation will take. FPANY have produced vague commitments about “preserving borders” and “maintaining existing infrastructure projects” (a likely reference to the Almorea-Totzkan pipeline) but so far basic issues, like the structure of the new Yhai national government, have yet to be addressed. Part of this is due to the emerging split within FPANY between the so-called Modernists, who want an independent Yhaiva to take advantage of the steppe’s vast bitumen wealth, and the Nomadists, who want the Yhai to return to their pastoralist nomadic roots. Party leader Ado’Illusan Vilo desire not to alienate either faction has likely contributed to lack of real commitments to what an independent Yhaiva will look like, causing the future for Yhaiva to seem even more uncertain.

FEDS SEIZE YHAI ACTIVISTS
Pro-independence Yhai party members arrested by federal marshals after Totzkan authorities launch abrupt crackdown

Image
Agents of the Federal Marshals Service prepare to enter a home in suburban Ballavasach, Gray Hills province, on April 23, 2019

BALLAVASACH (FBCA)- The Justice Department today executed arrest warrants for 27 Yhai independence activists, in a stunning and unexpected intervention in Totzkan politics that comes days after Totzkan President Fransisco Améro suspended parts of his nation’s constitution in the three Yhai states.

A spokesman for Attorney General Dave Merenlaine said that federal marshals, with the assistance of local law enforcement, arrested the unnamed members of FPANY, or the Front for the Yhai Nation, the political party which has backed Yhai independence. The Justice Department responded to legal inquiries by saying that sealed indictments exist and that the arrestees will appear before a federal judge for a fair hearing “as soon as circumstantially possible.”

Border crossings have continued unimpeded after the arrests, although provincial officials told the FBCA that “there is, and will be, an increased security presence at points of entry.”

On April 21, the long-awaited Yhai independence referendum, backed by the FPANY, was abruptly cut short by a security clampdown in all three Yhai states, which included the temporary suspension of civil liberties and involved the participation of armed troops. Although the next steps for the Totzkan government remain unclear, Tuesday’s arrest of FPANY members living in Almorea confirms that the Hallowell administration has been coordinating with their counterparts on the issue.

President Alasdair Hallowell, who recently returned from a state visit to Ainslie, has not made a statement to reporters regarding the arrests, but will speak to top Totzkan security official Govind Sarvesh regarding the matter tonight, according to sources within Carldon Hall. The President conferred with his Totzkan counterpart by phone on Sunday night, shortly after Améro imposed martial law on Yhaiva.

It is likely that the arrests were timed to coincide with the congressional recess; Congress adjourned on April 19 and will not reconvene until May 5. The Hallowell administration received a bruising from the legislature over the past week that saw the Secretary of State and top diplomats come under intense cross-examination in testimonies before Federalist-controlled committees. Legal analysts have remarked that, in choosing to seize members of FPANY now, the administration can avoid the inevitable congressional inquiry until next month, by which point it will have prepared a legal defense.

In a statement given to the FBCA tonight, the Almorean Civil Liberties Union said that “the arrest of Yhai activists residing legally in Almorea is a blatant and wrongheaded example of the abuse of federal power, and only serves to legitimize the undemocratic and destabilizing actions of the Améro government in Yhaiva.”

Besides the close military and economic relationship between Almorea and Totzka, the Hallowell administration has other, practical reasons to oppose independence for Yhaiva. FPANY leaders Ado’Osho Kimba and Ado’Illusan Vilo have promised to preserve key aspects of the free trade deal inked by the two countries’ representatives in December 2018, but these assurances have not been enough for Almorean officials, who have reportedly worried that an independent Yhaiva could rapidly spiral into violent instability that would likely necessitate the intervention of the military to protect lives and property across the border.

Minister’s son found dead; suicide suspected by the police

Sárruc, 1ch li méyili · 1203 | 1 May 2019 – A dead body found in one of the public bathrooms of Sárruc Central Station this morning has been identified as Corhad Demher, son of government minister Ranhòd Demher, spokesman Jamhord Soqhwqh of the city police has confirmed in a joint press conference during which First Minister Sanhad Bórya was speaking as well. Soqhwqh didn’t want to elaborate on the cause of death but said that there are clear indications that Demher took his own life. As the deceased is a close relative to a government minister however, it is likely that a full scale investigation will be set up. This was confirmed by First Minister Bórya, who extended condolences to minister Demher and his two daughters and their families on behalf of the government and the people of Nhoor, and asked the press to resepect their privacy in this difficult time.

Corhad Demher was born in 1989 as the only son and youngest child of theoretical physicist Ranhòd Demher and his wife Nháqo Barus, who died in a car accident in 1996. Corhad went to study art history in 2007 but after his first year he flunked and started working with as a bar tender in the capital. He ended up in dubious company and was arrested a few times, much to the embarrassment of his family. In recent years, Corhad’s personal situation seemed to have stabilised however and to the public he appeared to be doing well.

Following the swearing in ceremony that took place yesterday, Minister Ranhòd Demher officially stepped down as defence minister and took up the domestic affairs portfolio today; it was announced however that he will take an extended leave following this morning’s tragic event.

Government to investigate Nhoor membership of international organisations

Sárruc, 22ch li aprílili · 1203 | 26 April 2019 – The government will investigate a membership or an associated membership of international organisations such as the Coalition of Six or the Cooperative Union. This was announced by the ministry of foreign affairs following a visit of minister of foreign affairs Orumha Cany-Jwchmiqen to the International District earlier this week. According to the announcement, the government of Nhoor shares the values of peace and stability, and feels that our country could better contribute to the propagation of these values as part of an alliance than on its own.

Suvurnia
Who is Surevi Hang?

The Magarati-Suvurnian Billionaire has been in the spotlight lately

Image
Surevi Hang, pictured here at the Suvurnian Commercial Symposium

With the opening of the Bhikkustan Vihara, the KAR government has done two things. Firstly, they have reinforced their message of de-Islamisation and religious tolerance, strengthening their appeal to foreign governments especially. In doing so, they have also played into the political aspirations of someone who, until now, had been an unknown in the Suvurnian political sphere. But who is Surevi Hang, and what does he want?

Surevi Hang was born in the People's Republic of Chuli in 1962, in a rural Magar family. As a child he did well at school, being talented with languages and mathematics. He was a rebellious child, and from a very young age knew that his own beliefs were radically different from those of the state's socialist ideology. He graduated from university aged 22 and went into the diplomatic service, accepting a posting at the embassy in Suvurnia. In 1985, by now fully disillusioned with the socialist system following the death of his father in questionable circumstances, Surevi defected to Suvurnia. The following diplomatic fallout was immense, especially as he brought with him documents which confirmed UCCR support for the Syahiri movement in Suvurnia.

Surevi worked first as a political consultant and journalist, before attending the National University of Suvurnia to study commerce. Highly gifted in the commercial field, he took advantage of the privatisations which followed the fall of Communism in Athara Magarat to build up a wide range of business interests. A pious Buddhist, Surevi has been influential in his advocacy for the Suvurnian Buddhist community. His funding of legal defences for Buddhist temples and lobbying for secular movements has won him much acclaim in liberal circles, who see him as a principled philanthropist who defends democrat causes. For example, he is a major stakeholder in the strongly liberal women's interest and entertainment magazine "her world" (lack of capitalisation stylised), and one of the KAR's main donors. He has often been suggested as a candidate for election, but has so far remained mum about any such aspirations.

The opening of Bhikkustan Vihara has been a watershed moment for Surevi. With its opening, Buddhism has been recognised by the government as a part of Suvurnian history and society, an impressive feat considering only 6% of the population follow the religion, primarily immigrants from Athara Magarat and Harnadesh. One thing is for sure, Surevi is a very ambitious individual. With this task completed, what is next?
Muslim revert, supporting wasatiyyah for a true and moderate expression of our faith. Political centrist.

Noskhagen bombs: Seven confirmed dead, tens more missing

By: Martiin Dalanski

A series of three bombings in Noskhagen has taken the lives of seven people as it stands, with police saying the number of dead could reach in excess of sixty.

On Unity Day, which celebrates the unification of the Kingdom of Tauskland and the Territory of the Szar, people went out and about to celebrate the formation of modern day Tauskland.

People ventured to restaurants, pubs and stores to catch a good bargain on the Unity Day sales.

However three explosions at three densely populated areas of the city centre occured almost simultaneuously, causing near irreperable damage to buildings and killing at least seven.

Police say the public should expect the death toll to easily ''exceed sixty or even reach triple figures''.

The Prime Minister has chaired a meeting of the National Security Council, where he confirmed that this is a major incident and gave permission for military forces to be deployed into the city to assist police operations.

Operation Shadow as it is called, relates to an amount of reservist military personnel, mostly from the army, being deployed to various police forces that request additional support, and the soldiers are treated as additional backup.

Military equipment and gear could also be sent with the soldiers, but police in Noskhagen are generally well equipped to deal with such operations.

The Prime Minister gave a statement to the world's media shortly after chairing the meeting.

''Today I made the decision to authorise Operation Shadow, where military personnel will be joining police forces in Noskhagen as well as Szecina and Grenven to ensure that the public is safe in the days following this horrific act of cowardice. Officials already confirmed to me the deaths of seven Tausk citizens which is sadly expected to rise.''

As this story is still developing, updates will be posted and some information may be inaccurate, but The Keeper ensures its sources are incredibly reliable.

A series of three bombings in Noskhagen has taken the lives of sixty five people, says the latest police report. Tauskland's Unity Day celebrations were shrouded in thick smoke when at 6pm Tauskland time last night, three near simultaneous blasts rang out across the city.

A restaurant and two stores were attacked, the restaurant collapsing entirely, with nobody believed to have survived. Injuries have also reached far into the 200's, 259 to be exact. Tauskland's incredible health system is under incredible strain, but doctors, nurses and emergency personnel are determined to fight through.

The Joint Task Force of the Police, Fire and Rescue and the National Ambulance Service have made a collective statement saying that it is not yet possible to search the collapsed restaurant, The Ruzek, due to incredible safety risks, but ensured the public they were doing everything they can to get searching.

CCTV video stored at an offsite location in Szecina has estimated that anywhere from 45-70 people were in the restaurant at the time of the blast, meaning the death toll could exceed 100. Thirty three people are still missing after the blasts, with a large public appeal to find the missing persons. Tauskland's richest man Danil Illnjiki has donated an undisclosed sum to various charitable causes and organisations to assist various operations.

Today's sitting of Parliament was cancelled as a result of fears that it could be targeted, after police warned additional devices could be around.

As this story is still developing, updates will be posted and some information may be inaccurate, but The Keeper ensures its sources are incredibly reliable.

Arun Valley research students: Isles governments still unsecure about the size of their capital cities

Kyu Con says it can help Isles governments fix their "capital size" problems

Image
Keep saying that lady...

NEW LIBANG

Speak to any urban planner for long enough, and eventually you will hear four words: "city size doesn't matter". But size matters a great deal to many (most?) governments of the Isles (according to a recent study by Political Science students from University of Arun Valley, Hangate of Arun Valley, Athara Magarati Federation of Hangates).

The students, from their interviews with urban planners across the Isles, concluded that the size of a capital city does not matter. Any city run correctly, regardless of size, can work as the national capital and provide satisfaction for the entire population of the nation.

And the facts speak for themselves. An estimated 95% of cities in the Isles are of an ‘average’ size (1-3 million population); very few are significantly larger or smaller. When the Arun Valley students asked residents across 40 capitals in the Isles on the survey about what they want from a capital city, they consistently mention habitability, stability and attractiveness. Very few even mention size of the city they are living in!

But many (most?) Isles nations governments feel differently, the Arun Valley students concluded from their study. Isles governments, specifically the heads of the government or the state, compared their own nation's capital cities to the huge mega-metropolis of Nation X splashed across the media and concluded: our nation's is much smaller. The study reveals that Isles governments think that their citizens are always comparing the size of their capital city with those of other nations.

The Arun Valley students then recommended a well-known Magarati company based in Ghan Pokhara, Second Tamuwan Hangate. Who else other than Kyu Construction and Engineering to solve the lower problems of Isles governments? When interviewed by the students and then the Herald (along with the Beet), President-CEO Kumari Kyu sexily fixed her glasses and stated that Kyu Con would remove unnecessary elements around the outskirts of your average capital city and increase the city's size by twice in less than a year's time.

Image
Demographer Anita Pakhrin from Population Examination Institute of Science (PEnIS)

However, not everyone was convinced by the study's conclusions and Kyu Con's blatant self-advertising. Demographer Anita Pakhrin from Population Examination Institute of Science (PEnIS) says, "It is a real shame that the size of a capital city makes so many Isles governments, particularly the heads of states or governments, feel inadequate. I urge these government people to make peace with the size of their capital cities and stop comparing it with other nations. Your capital cities are fine as they are. Your citizens enjoy what you have got, your people will be happier and probably a better administration if you stop fretting about your capital city size. And it you want to be a great government, a fully functioning nation-state and well lubricated bureaucracy will send most citizens absolutely wild. I know it does it for me personally."

PHEONIX HOLDINGS INTRODUCING NEW 'CORPORATE GOVERNANCE'

Lucia McGall | Saltire Media
Image

Published 10 May 2019

NOLON - Pheonix Holdings is among the other sweeping changes being introduced all over Noronica, providing a new definition on means of governance. The concept of a sovereign wealth fund is most certainly not new, yet in Pheonix Holdings' case, it is one of the most extensive in the Western Isles. Its portfolio is wide, covering multiple industries and serving to smoothen out what its Chief Executive has called 'crinkles' in Noronica's paused economy. From infrastructure to security services, Pheonix Holdings has grown exponentially from its inception as mere inheritance.

The key to understanding Pheonix Holdings' growth is to understand the process of its creation and who founded it. Several months ago, it did not exist, but now it is swiftly becoming a widely discussed topic in the office. That is due to the fact that it was created as a response to the national situation at the time, the so-called 'Royalist Division' that kick-started a nationwide renewal project, including the creation of Pheonix Holdings. The First Prefect Trystan Alexander, who was Prince before his election, inherited the Royal estate under his father's will. Instead of continuing the succession process, the First Prefect liquidated most of his newly-inherited assets and put his wealth into the reconstruction of the nation.

The First Prefect and the State Executive formulated a comprehensive plan to introduce a sovereign wealth fund to aid in reconstruction and the management of companies that were perhaps failing due to increasing domestic pressure from the past events of the year. Pheonix Holdings was born, with a steady backbone of financial support and an eager workforce to aid in stabilising the Noronnican economy. In some aspects, the company is held accountable to the First Prefect to ensure a smoothly-operated and transparent operation, but it maintains a strict policy of open collaboration with the industries that it encompasses.

Thus far, Pheonix Holdings has invested in several companies, including larger names such as Siork Airlines and Eyetech Security. With Pheonix operating as a major shareholder in these companies, it allows for a deeper and more diversified connection between the corporate and political world. While Pheonix has invested a large amount of the money it was granted through the First Prefect's donation, it has started accruing profit, which is set to increase according to projections.

The State Executive has also utilised this new connection with the business world to restructure Noronica's ageing systems, most notably its online services. The Noronnican Intergovernmental Network, a new online system designed through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Information and State Technology and Altera's Horizon Inc, was one such part of the restructuring project.

Through the careful yet emboldening efforts of the State Executive, Pheonix Holdings is a sign of a new dawn for the Noronnican Economy and the State. The Chief Executive, Lucas Lopez, made such a statement telling Saltire Media in an interview that, 'With the introduction of Pheonix Holdings, it is hoped that Noronica will take a step into relatively-uncharted territory that only a few other nations are making, the step into further corporatisation. It is plainly clear that the state was suffering from the disease of mismanaged complacency and misplaced trust for an ageing system. With this new government and new leader, hopefully, this marks the beginning of a wonderful relationship between politics and business'.

Following last year's successful launch of the Fraternité-1 module into low Earth orbit, and the successful introduction of the Constelación II Reusable Heavy-Lift Launch Vehicle, the Corindi-Svalbardian Joint Space Station (CSJSS) has been completed by the successful launch and docking of the Svalbardian Space Lab 1 module delivered by an Arildrion Industries Atlas World Bearer Rocket. The now-completed station is intended to perform pharmaceutical research in a low gravity environment, make observations of the Sun and Earth, test the effects of a low gravity environment on the physiology of astronauts, and to gain valuable experience in the construction and operation of manned space stations.

The CSJSS is intended to sustain a 3-5 astronaut crew for rotating shifts of up to periods of up to four months, and missions could involve EVA activity. A wide variety of experiments are intended to be carried out, both while the station is manned and empty. Some of the experiments to be performed include the winners of last year's high school and college level LEO Experimental Design competition. The station is intended to have a lifespan of over two decades, and remain inhabited for the majority of that period.

Corindi President Lindsay Abelló described the completion of the space station as "a technological victory, not just for Polar Svalbard and Corindia, but for the entire region. I speak for all of Corindia when I say that the work of this international team of scientists and engineers is a wonder and an inspiration, and gives me hope for humanity's future amongst the stars".

EXCLUSIVE: Strategos Ryansan's interview
with the Alteran News Network

Image

The following is a transcript of Strategos Ryansan's May 17th interview with the Alteran News Network.

CACISTUS LEON: Strategos Ryansan, thank you for being with us.

RYANSAN: Thank you very much, it's a pleasure to be here.

CACISTUS LEON: So it's been nearly a year since you were sworn in. Let me ask you, has the magnitude of the role hit you yet?

RYANSAN: It periodically hits me. It is a tremendous position that has been bestowed upon me. At times it has weighed heavily upon me. However, I do feel I was- I am the right man for the job. And I believe my record thus far proves it.

CACISTUS LEON: Is there anything in particular that has weighed heavily upon you?

RYANSAN: Rebuilding the Curia and the networks they once had was extremely difficult. You can't just bump people up the chain of command, you sometimes have to draft in people with that connections and experience. You couldn't want a steward to captain a cruise ship, you'd get someone with the right experience.

CACISTUS LEON: It's interesting you mention that. Many people in Altera have openly questioned the lack of democratic will. It seems you are advocating for such actions?

RYANSAN: On the contrary. As some of your media outlets have reported, I've ordered a commission to look into the establishment of a permanent Parliament to act as a second chamber - the first of its kind for several centuries in Altera. Things are changing in Altera - it just all takes time.

CACISTUS LEON: In your early weeks of your term, you made many new promises to the country. Do you think you've kept to them?

RYANSAN: I certainly think my record speaks for itself. The economy is growing, unemployment continues to decrease, wages are on the rise and investment is at an all-time high. We've worked within departments to help increase the efficiency of what we spend and how we spend it.

CACISTUS LEON: Would you acknowledge reports that the average Altera family income has decreased?

RYANSAN: Ah, I know what report you're quoting. No, I'd have to say I wholeheartedly disagree with their findings - mainly as their methodology was completely wrong. It reports that the average rise in incomes has decreased - not that incomes are decreasing as many are incorrectly quoting. On the whole, largely in part to the strong economy and reduced rate of taxation, the spending power of every family and household continues to grow.

CACISTUS LEON: Government investment is on the rise, a trend that the previous administration was fervently against. Why the increase in spending?

RYANSAN: We found that, in the past few years, there had been some stagnation in investment in key areas, namely education, transport to name a few. We needed some investment in these areas - completing the upgrades to Smart Highways and various new state-run schools, to name but a few of the projects.

CACISTUS LEON: Speaking of the economy, many have questioned your ties to Horizon and rumours that, thanks to your stewardship, your company is getting priority in major government tech contracts. What do you say to your critics?

RYANSAN: I've never denied or tried to hide my corporate background - in fact it's refreshing for many to have someone lead the country who isn't a career politician. We know that it takes leadership and the ability to look at the long term prospects of the country to keep us strong. Many countries forget this, particularly ones with leaders and political bodies that stay in term for only a handful of years. So I, like many, don't see it as a weakness.

CACISTUS LEON: And for preferential treatment for Horizon?

RYANSAN: Government contracts for those sorts of decisions don't go through my office and are largely controlled by the Curia and the various Councils responsible for issuing those contracts. Many of them side with Horizon as they have the technological knowledge, investment and track record for delivering these sorts of project.

CACISTUS LEON: Did it bother you that HyperWire were awarded the fibre optic contract and not Horizon?

RYANSAN: Not in the slightest! Sure, I have not doubt that Horizon could have handled the contract, but HyperWire is a solid company with great potential - they were the clear choice in that matter.

CACISTUS LEON: Moving on to domestic policy, we can't ignore the ethnic clashes that have occurred these past few months. You've promised great reforms, but that doesn't seem to be enough for your critics.

RYANSAN: I agree - this nation has always been about ethnic diversity and we are proud to have built our nation on a foundation of mutual trust and respect. Things have not always been easy and there certainly have been dark chapters in our past - what nation hasn't had any - but we've learnt and grown from these experiences. Unlike what some of the louder voices might suggest, we aren't a nation that actively segregates people. We are a nation of merit. We always have been and always will be.

CACISTUS LEON: Recent statistics put the percentage of female C.E.O.s in the Alteran top 100 businesses at 30% and only 26% of C.E.O.s are of Alteran decent. Do you not find these numbers worrying?

RYANSAN: It's interesting your bring this up. Can you point me to a case where someone has not been awarded a job because of their gender or ethnicity?

CACISTUS LEON: The numbers don't lie.

RYANSAN: Numbers don't lie, though they can be used to further agendas. In an ideal world, what percentage would you like? 50%? 60%? I am all for encouraging everyone to better themselves and to work hard. Merit is what this nation is built upon. But how should this be achieved? Quotas?

CACISTUS LEON: Many nations have looked into that and have seen some success.

RYANSAN: Uptake of Arts-based degrees are overwhelmingly taken up by women. Most doctors and nurses are female. Nearly all mid-wives are female. Should we be banning some women from taking these roles just to get more men into it? I think not. By all means, we should encourage everyone to take their own path in life - but we shouldn't enforce quotes purely to satisfy some need for quantifiable order.

CACISTUS LEON: Many of your critics are concerned that movements such as Altera for Alterans are gaining increased supp-

RYANSAN: No, they're not. Freedom of speech is paramount - yes - but when people use that as the defence for mobs of masked men and women destroying public property, they're no different from thugs and hooligans with a delusion of self-grandeur. They're not on the rise.

CACISTUS LEON: Your own Council of Home Affairs release statistics that clearly show a steep rise the number of incidents reported by police and private security contractors.

RYANSAN: Yes, that's true. They're showing an increase in the number of arrests.

CACISTUS LEON: Surely that's down to an increase in the number of demonstrators?

RYANSAN: I put it to you that our security forces are now better suited and experienced and arresting these individuals. If you're washing a car and switch from using a sponge to a jet wash - is their more dirt on the car or are you just more efficient at washing?

CACISTUS LEON: I'm not sure I understand your metaphor.

RYANSAN: But you get my point, no? There are two sides to every story. Yes, there may have been an increase in the number of demonstrators, but from what I've seen a greatly more efficient and well-resourced security force is what is the cause of the increase.

CACISTUS LEON: Next, I'd like to ask you about your recent push for a more assertive role for Altera in international affairs. How do you aim to accomplish this?

RYANSAN: Firstly, I'd insist we carry on the Diplomacy through Trade developed by the late Strategos Rector. We've continued to create closer ties with many nations, further developing our economics mutually, building stronger bonds of trust and increasing our influence in the world. It's worked globally for us thus far, so I wish to continue to push for its development.

CACISTUS LEON: Part of your plan for an increased presence appears to involve the military, no?

RYANSAN: Of course we are proud nation with a strong history in aerospace and our world class air force showcases this. But for all our technology and prowess, we historically have sat on the sidelines for many of the dilemmas that afflict the region. We have gained a reputation for being a respectable neutral power to many, but we've thus failed to capitalise on this. A military expansion, as part of a wider plan, could be crucial to further spreading our influence in the region.

CACISTUS LEON: Would trade be part of this plan?

RYANSAN: Of course. As it stands, our trade deficit is smaller than others - thanks to our exports in many sectors; namely aerospace, electronics, finance and e-commerce - but I'd like to see this expand to our other sectors that have been growing in recent years - with the incredible developments in our pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and green energy sectors.

CACISTUS LEON: A legacy of business, for business, by a businessman?

RYANSAN: We all benefit from capitalism. More business means more jobs. More jobs means high productivity. High productivity means better wages. Better wages means higher standard of living. We all benefit.

CACISTUS LEON: Mr Strategos, thank you.

    RYANSAN: It was a pleasure.

Senate confirms new ambassador to League

ELLSBURGH (APA)- The Senate today voted 25-8 to confirm the new Almorean ambassador to the League, Camden Zava, more than three weeks after the abrupt resignation of the previous ambassador, Barnabas Reid.

Mr. Zava was nominated by President Alasdair Hallowell to replace Reid after the latter quit on April 27 after grueling testimony before Federalist senators. In his message to Congress announcing the nomination, President Hallowell extolled Zava’s experience as ambassador to Noronica during the political crisis of the previous autumn and hailed him as an “excellent choice to represent the nation” before the region’s most important international body.

During his confirmation hearing, Mr. Zava testified that he would “pursue the administration’s multilateral approach to foreign affairs”, but insisted that he represented an “independent voice” with a “conscience”.

Senators were pleased enough with Mr. Zava’s credentials to cross party lines and support his nomination. Sen. Sarah Tolton (F-Gavshin) called the new ambassador a “smart choice” by the President and commended his Senate testimony.

Before travelling to the International District, Mr. Zava will address the 2019 Almorea and the World Symposium in Kingsford. The Symposium, the premier annual gathering of foreign-policy experts, was originally scheduled to host President Hallowell.

Ellsburgh mayor, eyeing 2020 spoils, presses for basic services

ELLSBURGH (APA- Ellsburgh mayor Marlon Caesar (A), who many analysts predict will seek the governorship of Adashawnee province in the 2020 provincial elections, today called for the Almorean Party to adopt universal basic services (UBS) as part of its legislative program.

Mr. Caesar, speaking to the Metropolitan Council, called for the Hallowell administration and congressional leaders to “guarantee fair and guaranteed access to basic human needs” by “adopting, promoting, and executing a platform that provides UBS”.

Mr. Caesar did not offer solutions as to how universal basic services in Almorea would be funded. As federal welfare spending currently totals over $53 billion annually, some have suggested that the cost of direct assistance could be “rolled over” into UBS programs.

President Alasdair Hallowell, who is expected to call for food security legislation in his upcoming June 24 address, has previously dismissed UBS proposals as “impractical”, although some in the party have pointed to the success of countries such as Athara Magarat in implementing similar policies.

Asked about his gubernatorial or, perhaps, presidential ambitions, Mr. Caesar was dismissive but could not help flashing a smile. “I’m doing this because I want to help people,” he told the APA. “It’s about time that somebody involves these proposals in political discourse.

FOURTEEN MIKLANIAN DIPLOMATS EXPELLED ON ESPIONAGE CHARGES

Francis Urchardan | Saltire Media
Image

Published 19 May 2019

NOLON - The United Prefectures of Noronica is today expelling fourteen diplomatic staff from the Miklanian Embassy in Nolon who were identified as 'undeclared intelligence operatives working under the abused powers of diplomatic immunity', by the Ministry of State Security (MSS). In a statement to media representatives this morning, the Noronnican Chief of the MSS revealed how Miklanian Intelligence operated a 'wide-scale intrusive intelligence operation' through their diplomatic staff in Nolon.

In an unexpected media conference, the Minister of the Ministry of State Security unmasked the alleged espionage operation conducted by the Miklanian Office of Strategic Intelligence on Noronnican soil. The fourteen operatives operated under the guise of diplomatic staff, three of them being of high ranking within Miklanian diplomatic hierarchy. It was hinted at that these three specific operatives were present in several classified meetings alongside the Miklanian Ambassador, where they met Noronnican intelligence and military staff alike.

A key part of this plot is the fact that twenty non-diplomatic suspects were arrested around the city, accused of being operatives recruited and handled by the fourteen diplomatic staff who operated as handlers for these individuals. According to Professor Harold Tiernan of the University of Gwynon, "Intelligence operatives within an embassy do not usually act as agents themselves, instead acting as handlers for those operating in the field as ordinary citizens".

In response, the First Prefect addressed the issue in the chamber of the State Executive, saying, "This was a blatant and calculated attack on national security going on for the past few months as Noronica reeled from instability. It is no secret that Miklania and Noronica have had soured relations in the past, but this was an attempt to bully and exploit an unstable nation to steal vital intelligence. It is a clear sign that Miklania is afraid of other nations rising to mediate its unbalanced power share in the region, flexing its muscle to act with gross impunity."

Asked whether this may be happening in other Miklanian embassies and consulates around the region, the First Prefect said that, "I would ask that other nations exercise caution when dealing with possible intelligence threats of this scale. However, I would hope that Miklania has not breached the understanding of diplomatic immunity in other nations."

In a time of regional instability, the Miklanian military-industrial complex continues to prosper without checks and balances on its power. Now that Noronica has emerged from its instability, the First Prefect promised to "work with its allies to bring about an equal and stable state of balance within the region to replace the unbalanced share of power." Asked whether he was referring to Miklania or the Mesder Sea Treaty Organisation as a whole, the First Prefect did not confirm.

"Safety March" Against the Planning of a new Nuclear Power Station collapses into violence

    | With the calm rising sun slowly creeping its way through the clouds on a sunny day in the Saxon Kingdom of Austrovik-Germania, almost 5'000 people took to the streets in the capital Hortendorf carrying banners, wearing face paints and costumes to protest against the planning of a new state-run nuclear fission plant just of the coast of the coastal city of Pottersdorf, after growing concerns of the safety and radiation issues that come along with nuclear fission plants such as this. The Kingdom already owns two fully-operates nuclear power plants which currently produce around 34% of the countries homegrown electrical energy output, with the remaining 66% coming from other sources. However, Austrovik-Germania still struggles to fulfill the demand on electrical energy, with the entire energy supply only produced around two-thirds of what the country truly needs.

    | The protesters began marching down Prachtallee carrying banners proclaiming "Meine Kinder wollen keine Leukämie" ("My children don't want Leukemia"), and other messages, and also carried loud horns and continued to generally disrupt the Wednesday-morning commuters. Things took a dark turn when a Jugend der Leute (JdL, "People's Youth") member threw a carton of strawberry milkshake on a protester, who immediately reacting out of impulse and punched the teenager in the face, giving him a black eye. This led to several other JdL members rushing to the scene to support their injured comrade, who then proceeded to hit and attack protesters.

    |The police moved into the scene around fifteen minutes later, and soon after 120 arrests were made, every one of them being protesters who marched on that morning. The JdL member, who shan't be named for privacy reasons, is now in a stable condition at home with his family. The government itself is looking into alternative for the new power stations. The Minister for Environmental Security, Josef Gustav Marnheim, produced a report on hydroelectricity and its possible use in Austrovik-Germania in a report which is now commonly referred to as the "Marnheim Complex", where several dams are built in the same river each supplying energy to a corresponding power plant. The mountanious terrain to the south of the Kingdom also provides the perfect platform for this suggestion.

    | Another suggestion made by the Austrovik automobile firm Ubermacht is to employ the use of more thermal power stations in the region. Currently, Ubermacht is developing Pre-Combustion Carbon Capture and Storage (PCCCS), which is where coal is combined with oxygen to form carbon monoxide and hydrogen, then water is added to start a reaction, which creates liquid carbon dioxide and hydrogen, and the former is stored and the latter is burnt to produce electricity.

REPORT: FWC System Failures in 2018 Recession Were Made by Choice
Baziri Asud
5-25-19

In 2018, the League of the Western Isles passed a "League Resolution to Promote International Peace." It called for the sanction of Thuzbekistan for the intervention in the Orsandian Civil War which ended late last year. Most nations answered that call. With a simple stroke of the pen, the region shattered the Thuzbek Economy. Ports were closed, factories were shuttered, and, for the first time since the System was created, the workers were left on their own.

In Baslov and many other cities, both large and small, workers were left without pay, without housing, and without a stable food supply. According to recent study by the Islamic Association of Thuzbekistan, Mosques flung open their doors in all parts of the nation, feeding and housing the starving families. But, without government support, the IAT reports that Mosques and other private charities were only able to cope with about 20 percent of the unemployed masses, leaving millions to the hands of the government, which had promised Thuzbekistan's workers a minimum income, secure housing, constant employment, and food on the table. But as days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months, the payments never came. As families waited for their tax money to save them, the System did nothing. No payments were ever delivered.

As a result, thousands protested, sometimes violently, in Baslov, Bashlon, Turvin Ghada, and Ashluv. Small rural communities like Zalmen refused to pay their taxes and vandalism marred the government and financial buildings in Ashluv. All of these prompted harsh punishment from the National Police. The Protests were violently ended, the farmers were forced to pay taxes with several disappearances being rumored in Zalmen, and order was eventually restored. However, by the time it was, the Orsandian Civil War had come to an end and the sanctions were slowly being lifted. But, throughout these many months, not one payment had reached the people from The System. Now, according to the leaked reports from Parliament and the redacted reports from economic think tanks within The System, the Thuzbek people know why:

The FWC and Prime Minister Alaattin Cihangir decided not to make those payments.

The report leaked from Parliament by an unknown source quotes recorded conversations in the Ashluvian Palace, official statements between the FWC and the Prime Minister's office, as well as orders from the FWC to the Provincial and Local Councils. Using these sources, the Parliament's report depicts a FWC and Prime Minister who decided that the government should not have to honor its commitments to its people. Instead, they chose to expand military spending, move ahead with failed missile tests, and to perform expensive deployments of our largest naval assets. While the people of Thuzbekistan literally starved, the military was looking to pick a fight with its unending support from Ashluv. Instead of start the massive infrastructure projects that were not only needed, but were the go-to method of controlling unemployment, Cihangir and the FWC worked feverishly to keep the government and its military funded throughout the crisis.

While the report does not detail how MPs reacted to these realities, this publishing house has obtained a document from the Prime Minister's office to the Vanguard Party Leader and the Opposition Leader, who were both appointed by the Prime Minister and historically have had the job of keeping the parties in line. In the document, it details a Thuzbek Intelligence report regarding the general views of each party. Excepting the International Socialist Party, the document states that "all parties are vehemently opposed to the current administration." It goes on to state that "The conservative party of Thuzbekistan is acting as a ringleader of cross-party opposition to the administration." At the very end, it gave an ominous warning:

"If the parties are not brought back in line, then extreme action must be taken."

This was only days before the death of the Conservative Party leader in his own home.

At the end of this report, the picture is clear: The Federal Workers Council and the Socialist government chose not to care for the one group they have always claimed to care the most about: The workers of Thuzbekistan. Instead, the neutered Islamic Association of Thuzbekistan reports that the only reason there was not a mass panic was because the religious opened the doors to the workers even as the government shut theirs.

SOLARIA: PAVING THE WAY FOR A GREENER TOMORROW

By Alfred Alabaster, 25 May 2019

ARCTURUS - In order to concentrate its efforts for a greener tomorrow, leaders Scantarbia's 35 start-ups and company convened together on the country's capital, Arcturus. In this meeting, which doesn't allow any media to come inside, ends up with a decision to unite into a single company called Solaria. With its motto "Blue Roof, Blue Sky", Solaria aims to create a greener tomorrow, now. The company website, which is still hugely work in progress, can be seen here.

"We see this as good progress, for the wellbeing of the environment, our children, and our society's sustainability", said the country's leader, Nicetas Akylas when asked for his comments about this new company last Thursday (23/5).

From the information made public by the company, we know that the company produces solar energy generation utilities. These items, ranging from small household rooftop photovoltaics and solar roof tiles up to huge multi-kilometer squared solar power plants. Not only power generation Solaria also offers power storage products. Again, these products range from wall-mounted batteries which could be equipped in your ordinary house, essentially creating a microgrid, to a massive battery complex which could act as a back-up power supply for an entire city when the power plant suffers failures, preventing potentially economically-devastating blackouts. Not stopping inside the confines of a finite Earth, the company also produce aerospace-grade solar panels for use in satellites or space stations.

But with this new company, there are rising concerns on how will they plan to recycle old, retired and unused photovoltaics, due to the fact that some of the materials inside such objects are inherently toxic in nature.

Arildrion Industries CEO gives press talk on involvement with the PSSA over the CSJSS

Just today Arildrion Industries CEO Zacharias Wikström gave a press conference on the companies recent involvement with the PSSA (Polar Svalbardian Space Agency). This was in regards to the companies' Atlas World Bearer Rocket bringing the Svalbardian module of the CSJSS to space. The CSJSS is the Corindi-Svalbardian Joint Space Station which was just recently docked together on May 16th and will soon have its first astronauts inhabiting it. For Polar Svalbard this station brought together funding from many sectors of the economy, especially the pharmaceutical companies, which funneled itself into the PSSA in order to help the agency complete its section of the station.

Arildrion Industries received the contract over other launch options like Corindia or the Alteran Republics mostly because this was seen as a joint-Svalbardian venture and the PSSA wanted the whole section of station to be purely brought up by Svalbardian means. This was especially helpful for Arildrion Industries as this was only the second time one of their heavy lift rockets has sent cargo to space. This was the main point of the press conference as brought up by Mr. Wikström.

"Yes we were very excited when the agency brought us the contract for the Svalbardian section. This was a big step for us, especially as previously the world bearer only had one other commercial launch which was the defense satellites launch back in February. It was a little nerve racking but I was confident in my people that it would work."

SNN Reporter: "What do you say to questions about whether Arildrion Industries will follow in SpaceX's lead towards reusable rockets?"

"While we're always looking at steps forward in the industry, reusability is not a concern for us at the moment. For one thing we are much too far behind SpaceX in that study to even boast that we are pursuing that goal in any meaningful way. They've been working with that as their main goal for a decade whereas we have been mostly pursuing reliable launches. The thing about this industry is that it is an inelastic market. While yes companies like SpaceX may have advantages in that regard, there are many factors that go into how contracts are obtained than just that. Next question please."

Consul Adstutia Issues Statement On Enchanta

Recent news and traffic across the internet suggests that Enchanta is entering into a large amount of civil unrest and turmoil. Just recently the Enchantan government released a mandate declaring martial law. Currently not much is known about what is going on in Enchanta and our network will be sending in journalists soon once it can be ascertained what the current threats are in that region.

At the moment though the Consul Adstutia and her office have put forth a statement. This statement says that Polar Svalbard hopes that any internal strife in Enchanta can be solved quickly and with little bloodshed. Polar Svalbard though will remain out of the conflict as best as it can and hopes that other nations in the area will not further hinder the situation. In addition to this it is not advised for Svalbardians to travel to or conduct business in Enchanta.

SNN will keep you updated on this situation as more reports become available.

General Elections in the Kingdom - Your Candidates Shown Here!

| After the ongoing corruption scandal with the current ruling party of Austrovik-Germania, the NlP (Nationalliberale Partei, National Liberal Party), including its leader, Christian Von Ganz, have signed a unilateral Act of Resignation after two years and three months out of the total five years possible in office. This, of course, leads to a snap election within the country, with several candidates running for office. Die Volksstimme has compiled a list of every candidate running for the office of Minister-President on the 28th of May.

Friedrich Strocher, of the SDP (Sozialdemokratische Partei): Strocher was born on the 23rd of January 1982, and has long-since campaigned for a better quality-of-life for the working class, and also against the economic disparity between the south and the north of the country. The SDP manifesto puts forward changes such as free public transport, greater investment in cultural recognition and a raise in corporate tax for large businesses. It also contains methods to cut-back the size of the Rijkswehr, the armed forces of Austrovik-Germania. Currently, Strocher is only really finding support in the southern regions of the Kingdom.

Angela von Halsburg, of the CDU (Christlich-Demokratische Union): Angela von Halsburg was born in 1964, and currently is the chief executive of the Foodbank Charity in Austrovik-Germania, protecting those who are in danger of falling below the poverty line. However, the CDU asa whole is in shambles, with various factions and groups fighting to assert control over policies and the overall direction of the party. Currently, no manifesto has been released by the CDU.

Heinrich Strasser, of the NAA (Nationale Austrovik Arbeitergewerkschaft): Heinrich Strasser was born into a working class family in the southern city of Hertlin in 1953, only to watch his father die whilst trying to defend the family home from armed burglars. With this scene stained in his mind eternally, Strasser joined the NAA aged 23. Since then, he has transformed the party from a group of socialist liberals into the hard-left socialists that we see today. Currently, the NAA manifesto contains promises to boost the size of the military to 1'000'000 active units, and also to construct new Autobahns through national parks to help connect southern regions to the wealthier north. However, Strasser has faced growing backlash for his colourful love life and also his alcoholism, which he denies in its entirety.

Bertha Merkel, of the Grüne Partei: Merkel has, for all her life, campaigned for a greener, brighter Austrovik-Germania since an early age. Involved in the violent clash between Ordnungspolizei and environmentalists last week, Bertha was released on bail due to the election. The party she stands for is currently pushing for a greater appreciation of Austrovik wildlife, and also an expansion of the national parks in the country.

Adolf von Hersmann, of the NAHp (Nationale Austrovik-Heilspartei): Hersmann joined the NAHp aged 14, after his mother died of cancer and his father forced him out the family residence in 1978. The young boy took refuge on a nearby farm, where he saw first-hand the wonders of a 'simple life', and how the family he stayed with were deeply connected to the land. Aged 23, in 1987, Adolf moved to Valcia, and was baptised and become a devout Austren Catholic Christian. On his journey, he also noted the economic disparity between the north and south. He became leader of the NAHp in 2001, and has since then campaigned for a violant overthrow of the monarchy and the entire political system, and to found a "New Austren Order".

Election Season In Wake Sud Comes With Stern Warning From Polar Svalbard

KARANOA - Wakeite Socialists made important gains monday in elections in Wake Sud, strengthening the party's position in the fledgling nation. In the Pahia (Senate in English) the nation's socialist party has gained a majority, which will mean that they have strong sway in the nation's government. The nation's king, King Kapueo Napua, has stated that he hopes that they all can find common ground and lead the nation to prosperity together.

Furthermore socialists won seats in multiple regional governments and local governments. This is likely due to the nation's continued economic slump since the First Wake War in 1998. In addition to that the nation receives minimal international aid due to its isolationist policies and its hostility towards Polar Svalbard. Refugees from North Wake and Wake Atolla have stated that they hope that the new socialist dominated government will take a hard stance against Polar Svalbard and its continued control of their home islands.

In response to this news the Consul Bellum stated that Polar Svalbard does not look kindly upon the proliferation of communist ideals so close to its home shores. Along with that he stated that he hopes the First Wave peoples continue to know their place and stay in their holes. While this strong rhetoric is not well received by all, many Svalbardians support how Polar Svalbard has handled the situation in the Wake Isles.

Strong Protests Break Out In Wake Atolla

KA TEMA - Protests have again broken out in Wake Atolla, the territory recently incorporated into Polar Svalbard after the military's Operation Whiskey Alpha in 2016. Since then the area has had constant internal strife against both military forces and corporations that have moved onto the island.

These protests seem to coincide with the recent elections in Wake Sud and may be meaning that a fervor is starting to sweep over those in the Wake Isles area. These protests were largely separatist in ideal and were extremely large. It was non-violent though and while the local military units were on standby no force was needed and the crowds naturally dispersed at the end of the day.

The question also is if these protests are in connection to the recent protests in some small towns in the Dorlec Mountain Range that were against unfair treatment towards first wave peoples. Some signs in the protest were in regards to the mistreatment across the millennia towards first wave peoples by Europeans and the second wave peoples who came to Polar Svalbard. How this situation will develop is anyone's guess.

Massive Victory for the Heilspartei - Adolf von Hersmann elected 15th Minister President

| Across the entire nation this evening, thousands have been celebrating on the streets after the election of Adolf von Hersmann, the leader of the right-wing Nationale Austrovik-Heilspartei (NAHp), with over 56% of the national vote, and winning 373 of the 602 possible seats.

| After the victory was announced, Hersmann visited the Hortendorf Winter Palace, followed by the city of Valcia, to be officially inaugurated Minister-President of Austrovik-Germania. He also had a game of golf with the current Austrovik Crown Prince Michael Gustav Wilhelm, due to the current King's inadequate health to leave his accommodation; Micheal, who thoroughly enjoys a game of golf, told Die Volksstimme that Hersmann "was a relaxed, friendly and welcoming man". Afterwards, he arrived in Valcia, to meet and discuss matters with the Royal Bishop of Austrovik-Germania, Francis II, on religious and political matters. According to the Bishop's spokesperson, the meeting was "remarkably constructive, relaxed and friendly in its nature". Adolf also visited his hometown of Norconderm, and was welcomed by cheering fans and merry faces.

| Whilst in his hometown, Hersmann made this small speech in a farmers' market:

"Brothers, sisters, farmers, cobblers, maidens and labourers. We have secured a decisive victory. Not only have we begun the journey to a greater, brighter Austrovik Rijk, but also have begun the journey for greater recognition of the normal Austrovik national. The farmer, who works long hours every day to not only put bread in his family's plate, but to put a meal out to an entire city every week. The labourer, who works industriously in harsh factory environments so the people of the Kingdom can have as little as pots and pans. The people who make the Volk thrive and operate do not simply just deserve, but demand recognition for their sacrifices for this nation. The Austrovik National Salvation Party will work day-in, day-out to ensure that the general working folk receive what they deserve.
Not only that, but we will bring back what the entire country deserves. Socialist and liberal flim-flam has stained the culture of Austrovik-Germania, and has stained the people of this glorious nation too. Our healthcare system, ruined by influxes of illegal alien migrants from the four corners of the world, fails to save countless lives every day due to the ignorant and disgusting attitude of illegal immigrants. The NAHp will secure the borders of this glorious Rijk. No more migrants. No more liberal flim-flam. No more of this disgusting behaviour by devilish socialists to destroy this nation's culture! Our glorious Rijkswehr, once the shining jewel of the state, has now been torn, dissolved and made obsolete by previous governments for what good reason? We have dangerously imperialist neighbours on our doorstep. Take a good, close inspection of the Black Isle. Is it owned by Mesder natives? Does it even at least operate under its own jurisdiction? Of course not, it is owned by imperialist threats from the east!
We cannot let this country's flame die out!"

| However, whilst still winning the election, the NAHp did not win the required amount of seats, falling 28 seats short of the 401 seats (roughly two thirds of the Rijkstag), however, it has been reported that talks have commenced between the NAHp and the Grüne Partei, which gained 13 seats, resulting in 31 Grüne Partei Abgeordnete (Members of Parliament) in the Rijkstag. This "National Green Coalition" could give Hersmann the majority in parliament, and a more concrete NAHp victory.
