GENERAL IOSEF SVAT DEPOSES PREMIER, FREES PANHA FROM TYRANT

BUE-MAKH, November 29 (PNN) -- "THE FIRST DAY OF TRUE PANHA"

In the early morning hours, citizens of the unlawful capital of Trúan were awakened by glorious blaze and fiery explosion. While some ran into the streets in confusion, others, nearer the site of the tyrant's Revolutionary Mansion saw the truth -- a bomber flying into the distance, and, leaving behind it, the ruins of Yimar Svat's final resting place. Around the mansion, guards of the Premier fire upon those who stand with the Tyrant, destroying any last hope of her being saved for those who'd rather a despot drain Kho Panha of our lifeblood and beauty. Iosefas, comrades of our revolutionary vigilante, took out key ministers Lefer, Beaufort, Wuri and Markson before they could spring into place to replace the head of the snake. While minor rioting was reported in Cliaye, D'aranesi Island, Ancequetin and Puormi, the military reportedly put down riots with no casualties. The curfew on D'aranesi was lifted for the first time in three months, and bonfires (mostly filled with NAPO gear and Premier portraits) lit the island through the night, visible even from Belle Ilse en Terre.

Executions have been reported of sympathizers at the main military base at Ancequetin, where there is some resistance, but our contacts promise us the city will be safe for citizens by morning. The Ministry Buildings left standing have been occupied by those celebrating. Family members have raided police precincts for information upon missing family members. As news comes in, we'll report with new updates, but as of press time, it seems access to unapproved Athara Magarati television and websites has been achieved with the failure of the firewall, causing mass crashes from the number of people tuning in.

Citizens of Trúan accessed pre-NAPO radio and television equipment and, for the first time in thirteen years, expressed their joy at liberation to the rest of Panha. Those of us here at Panha News Network initially believed the coup a hoax and refused to air news of the explosions wracking Svat's outposts around the capital until we were greeted by the hero himself.

General Iosef Svat, Minister of Defense, brother of Tyrant Svat, aired this through PNN to all of Panha today.

Citizens of Panha.

It's been a long thirteen years.

For seven of those, I believed in my sister's mission. For seven years, we collectively as a nation turned a blind eye to the suffering of our brethren in North Bay. That suffering spread like an infection until the dust of it invaded every heart and household, until Yimar Svat's Medusa gaze turned all sense of decency within our hearts to stone with the chokehold she held around our island, our kho.

For the past six, I have done everything possible to erase the stain my actions have spread across the pure beaches of my home. I know it didn't seem like it to all of you. For some of you, you who had to pay the price for my concealment -- it is for you that I fought so hard for this revolution to thrive. Today, all of your sacrifices have mattered. Today, we took back Panha.

Perhaps it is most telling that the person who knows our tyrant best among all those living - me, her brother - was the one who saw Satan writhing below her skin. I believed in the unity she preached to all of this when she laid siege to Arseau. I thought I believed in her at the massacre of Uvritao. For unity, she said. For Panha. I reluctantly followed. I reluctantly followed the first time she threatened to kill me - when I refused to execute citizens refusing to leave their home in my hometown of Bue-Makh. My cowardice on the day of Resettlement is a shame I will spend the rest of my career fighting to erase. Even I, who loved my sister dearly in my youth, understand that anyone with a conscience must renounce former premier Yimar Svat. Now, I am not naive. Now, I understand that unity was never what Panha needed. It was the strength of the people to support it.

No longer will police kick down the doors in the night. No more will we be restricted from leaving Panha. No longer will we be forced to report those of Ilsan descent to hotlines, or fear going to work for accusations and denouncements. We will have a democratic nation, painted in the nation of the great states of the Isles. It's time we moved forward, not seeking to reconstruct Panha of seven hundred years ago, like that of my foolish sister. We need to move into the light, not away from it. Citizens, I am proud to announce to you that Yimar Svat is dead. With her, her three most treacherous cronies, and the rest to follow. Her death was easier than she deserved, but for all who doubt it, I will play video footage of Svat's office, showing her prescence at the time of explosions. Truly, today, we've made progress towards honoring our family who died under this snake's fangs.

But the work isn't done yet. With the military at my back, I will seek to transition as smoothly as possible into the next stage. We will reenfranchise the people. We will return to our true regional capitals. We will heal. Thank you to all of those who stood with me today, who hid this Second Coming of Kho Panha from the rats within our walls, to our partners overseas. I know you're frightened. Some of you may think this is an elaborate trick. But in time, you will see the truth, for today is the first day of True Panha.

PNN cannot wait to provide you with the latest updates on this day that will be remembered for the rest of Panharat history.

TODAY, WE TOOK BACK PANHA!

Government Orders Overlord To Stand Down

Image
31st Infantry Brigade in Lancaston
Last Wednesday, the country was rocked by rioting and looting in the Sessux Isle, southwest of the mainland, where thousands of people took to the streets to cause mayhem and major disruption to the city of Lancaston. The protests went as far as to block public services, disallowing those needing desperate medical attention from gaining it, selfishly using the time to loot and run amok. On social media alone, over three-thousand posts were uploaded, documenting the chaos.

The Prime Minister was reportedly in his crisis room the very moment that the situation blew up, his Chief of Staff Malcolm Schmitt telling NMC News that he took a 'very calm and measured approach'. However, his options were limited due to the fact that both the Bureau of Internal Security building and Police headquarters were both under siege by the rioters, meaning that they were unable to dispatch riot-trained officers to the scene. With the Prefect visiting one of the smaller islands under her jurisdiction, she was unable to return to the city.

Cornered, the Prime Minister was forced to call upon the Armed Forces. He was advised by senior Army chief, Sergeant Major Cameron Campbell, to utilise the 31st Infantry Brigade, as many of those in the brigade are Sessux Islanders themselves and some of the units are riot-trained, the skills being used in the city of Helmwerder, Charbagnia. The Prime Minister, having known about the Overlord's trip in Arván, asked that the Overlord and he, in an act of unity, take control over the situation. With the Overlord as Command-in-Chief and the Prime Minister being the one granted the position of advising the Overlord on matters of the Armed Forces, the two managed to calm the situation peacefully and with little violence in Lancaston. According to Sergeant Major Cameron Campbell,

"With the aid of military advisors, the two showed true leadership, able to quell the violence in the city of Lancaston with calm approaches. It is hard to remember that the two of them were disagreeing with each other weeks ago, as despite the physical distance between the two of them, they were able to coordinate a major operation in tandem with each other."

The 31st Infantry Brigade were efficient in bringing an end to the chaos in Lancaston, and many took to social media to thank both the Overlord and the Prime Minister for their efforts. However, concerns have been raised that the brigade has stayed in the city for too long, and as the situation calms, it would be appropriate for them to demobilise.

In a statement to the press this morning, Prime Minister Joshua McIntosh had this to say,

"The efforts by both the Overlord and I, and our staff, has brought about peace to the city of Lancaston, and consequently the Sessux Isle. It is with this in mind that I praise the Overlord for his ability to aid in this manner, as while the Overlord should not take direct control of the armed forces, I felt that in this situation, it was entirely warranted and so does the rest of the Government. I was proud to see such dedication in solving this issue, and we were in constant contact at all times. Now, however, I and the Government shall be formally requesting that the troops in the city of Lancaston are demobilised. The Overlord has shown his undying support and love for this country, and so he is given our highest praise. Usually, it takes a while for the process to be complete, so we shall be keeping tabs on the situation, but there is no need for concern. Martial Law has not taken effect in the city of Lancaston and everything shall return to normal very soon."

Politics
The disappearance of the nation’s intelligence agency head

The Federal Assembly’s effort to shed light into the ‘Orsandiagate’ scandal come to a halt after the head of SAFI, Hendra Gunauan, didn’t heed the calls to speak before the Assembly. It was later found that Gunauan went for a ‘worktrip’ few days prior to the Assembly’s calls, and had been missing since. His family know nothing about his whereabouts, as they are unaware of his work as the head of SAFI. “He never shared a story about his work, he always reasoned it will be a security concern,” his wife admitted. SAFI offers no explanation about the agency’s head status, but they assured that he is ‘alive and well’. Conspiracy theories alike have claimed that Gunauan had been ‘vapourised’ due to his failure in smoothly executing the covert operation in Orsandia, and linked the disappearance with President Justuva who had seen his position compromised due to the scandal. The Federal Assembly is planning to call SAFI’s command board to speak in front of the Assembly in an effort to get an insight to the agency, and have instituted a ‘fact-finding team’ to look further into the ‘Orsandiagate’ scandal, as the conflict in Orsandia has come to close. King Vladimir IV in the eyes of Samudera

The news of the death of King Vladimir IV came in shock for most. Crowned at the age of 24, he presided over the most turbulent time of the nation, the Red Storms, and brought the nation over the brink of collapse to its current prosperous state. Although the relations with Roendavar was never smooth, the reconciliation between the two was achieved a few months ago, with President Justuva officially admitted and apologised for Samudera’s involvement in the Red Storms. This was hailed as the King’s most meaningful contribution to Samudera, as both nations entered a new peaceful era. President Justuva sent his condolence and would help the transition of the new king in the next Treiorevikos should it be needed. “We are brothers,” said the President. Read more here..

SEC. OF STATE VISITS CHEOJU
Thurson meets Cheoji counterpart to discuss bilateral cooperation; asks for calm in Noronica

Image
Secretary of State Kirk Thurson talks to reporters before leaving for Yeowon, November 30, 2018

YEOWON (FBCA)- Secretary of State Kirk Thurson today visited Yeowon, the capital of the Republic of Cheoju, for what the Almorean government has billed as "casual talks" with Cheoji leaders.

Secretary Thurson met briefly with Cheoji President Han Yejun in the Presidential Palace to deliver a sealed letter from President Alasdair Hallowell, before sitting down with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cho Young-Jae, for a "working lunch" that lasted for several hours. After drinking tea, Thurson and Cho were observed to light cigars.

According to an official readout, the two chief diplomats discussed "ways to strengthen bilateral ties between Almorea and Cheoju", including, specifically, "economic cooperation and trade policies that will bring benefit to both sides". In contrast to Almorea's sagging economy, Cheoju is a regional economic powerhouse, enjoying a near-zero unemployment rate. Discussions today included talks about listing Almorean companies on the Cheoju Stock Exchange.

The visit on the last day of November takes place amid criticism from some human rights groups, who point out the authoritarianism of Cheoju's government. The Nockarsh-based Political Freedom Watch questioned publicly on Friday why a high-ranking Almorean official was "hobnobbing with rulers that deny dissent and stifle the growth of any meaningful opposition". Neither the State Department nor Carldon Hall have returned requests for comment.

Speaking to the press shortly after arrival in Yeowon, Thurson responded to questions about recent events in Noronica. When asked about the situation in the city of Lancaston, where the Noronnican 31st Infantry Brigade continues to be deployed even after rioting was quelled earlier this morning, the Secretary of State called for calm.

"Almorea values its friendship with the Noronnican government very highly", Thurson said. "It's important to make sure that all constitutional branches of that government can live in harmony. I don't presume to order anyone around, but it's my job to advise; and as Almorea's top diplomat, I would advise the Overlord to disarm that infantry brigade and keep the situation in the Sessux Isle stable and deescalated."

Thurson also confirmed the attendance of President Hallowell at the funeral of Vladimir IV of Roendavar, to be held on Christmas Day. Several hours before the Secretary arrived in Cheoju, thousands of bouquets of flowers that had been laid before the gates of the Roendavarian embassy in Ellsburgh were loaded onto a State Department plane and flown to Dociara City as Almorea's official gift of condolence to the people of Roendavar.

Secretary Thurson is expected to stay overnight in Yeowon before leaving Cheoju tomorrow morning.

President Dyson: "The Armed Forces will have to be prepared to take the role of peacekeepers across the Isles.", Other Highlights from the 1st December Address
Image
Ships of the Navy sailing in the Southern Sea

By: Ellery Ackerman

President Cedar Dyson has been a halmark for new traditions for the Presidency, ones that will likely outlast his term, most especially are his bi-monthly addresses. Done twice a month, once at the beginning and again around the 20th, the President has come on TV, and livestreams, to address the situation in the nation and international events. Unlike the State of the Republics, which have become a horse-and-pony show for Forwards!, these addresses are considerably more personal than that, and among the few times we actually see the President in his home at Sud Alban, where he spends most of his winters. Today's hour and a half long address was in a more somber tone than previous ones, with the President remarking on the losses he personally felt in the wake of the Orsandian Crisis, and equal amounts of hope at its eventual conclusion. He also took the time to commend the nation's partners in Gael, Ruios most recent among them as Chancellor Don Hernandez recently approved the deployment of Ruioian troops to assist Orsandian and Dormill-Stiuraian forces in rebuilding Urching.

He continued on by stating that nearly all of the ships of the Dormill-Stiuraian Navy will be returning for Christmas before returning to deployments in January, personally requesting during the address that the Coast Guard and Naval Guards to serve as the bulwark of Dormill and Stiura's waters for the remainder of the month. After announcing that he would be attending five rallies throughout the Republics, he continued the somber tone of the address, commenting on the ARSF and its role in the fast upcoming Treiorevikos, the Roendavarian "festival" where the criminal justice system is suspended for three months following the death of the Roendavarian monarch. The biggest bombshell of today's address is what he said about Noronica, where he suggested that the United Republics should begin the process to work closer with the Noronnican-led Joint Emergency Response Force, both in Orsandia and even in Noronica itself, where the situation has begun to turn for the worst with citizens clashing with the 31st Infantry Brigade, which was deployed to suppress the growing lawlessness in the island, especially its capital city, Lancaston.

Ruios Deploys Military Personnel to Orsandia

Image

Large military convoys are seen leaving Ruios across it's northern border towards Orsandia

Ruios began to deploy peacekeeping and military units this weekend to Orsandia as part of a regional agreement to secure and rebuild the wartorn nation. Along the northern Ruios border, large convoys of military vehicles were seen along with helicopters moving towards Orsandia in what is being discribed as a 'United Agreement of Security' outlined by Ruios Chancellor; Don Hernandez.

Peacekeepers with Engineering, Medical and Support troops are being deployed alonside the forces of Dormill and Stiura also Orsandia to begin the rebuilding of the nation, starting with the area of Urching. It is unknown how long the deployment is set to last, but Ruios Military spokesman; Major Luis Santorno explained the importance of the mission:

"There is major rebuilding work to undertake in Orsandia including security and infrastructure. Power supplies, fresh water, road networks, bridges and major facilities all need to be assessed and repaired accordingly. Ruios is deploying a fairly sizeable force to ensure that Orsandia can begin to rebuild in the aftermath of such a terrible conflict. We have very modern electrical and mechanical equipment along with medical and humanitarian supplies to ensure that the people of Orsandia are taken care of during this important time. We will continue to work with Orsandia and also Dormill for as long as nessesary until Orsandia is capable of managing itself sufficiently".

The cost of Ruios' deployment is believed to cost several million rineros but Major Santorno insists that the cost is essential in maintaining a strong and united Gael region.

KUNÊSHÊKTÊMILU HYDROELECTRICAL FACILITY BOMBED, DEATH TOLLS UNKNOWN

KUNÊSHÊKTÊMILU - Disaster befalls Mênna Shuli after an explosion rocked the Kunêshêktêmilu Hydroelectric Facility an hour ago. The notorious terrorist leader known as "Father" has claimed responsibility for the attack, which has claimed the lives of an untold number of people as hundreds of thousands of gallons of water sweep from Lake Kunêshêktêmilu, causing extensive damage to the nearby city and dozens of smaller communities downriver from the facility.

"This is one of the greatest disasters of modern Mênnan history," 'AT Ihwalâ Luktsha stated on the announcement of the attack. "Beyond that, it is the single greatest act of terror in the history of this nation."

Death tolls remain unknown and unreported, as flooding in the areas below the dam have caused immediate relief efforts to be stymied. Beyond the immediate damages caused by the heavy damage taken by the dam and the resultant torrent of water, power outages have been reported across the country as the national power grid loses a capstone piece of infrastructure. These outages exacerbate already spotty electrical coverage for the country, putting more lives in danger across the nation.

In a press release put out mere moments after the attack, Father took responsibility for the attack on behalf of Nâtkut Sumi, referred to by English speakers as "Blue Yesterday". Father, who escaped Shaspêvman Prison in August, has been mostly quiet until now, although the organization he helped found has been vocal in opposing efforts by 'AT Ihwalâ to meet with protest leaders and establish reconciliation and cooperation in the wake of months of disquiet.

"The Mênna cannot go backwards," Father stated in his taped statement. "We are pushing for a country free from the hierarchies and slavery established by our so-called cultural elite. Any compromise is to sell ourselves again into the chains that we are so close to breaking. Let this moment be a wake-up call for the nation. The Princes would grind us into the mud. They would make themselves rich on our efforts. Let us pull down the edifices of their power. Let us remind them that all monuments eventually lie in dust and sand, and that the broken statue of Ozymandias read upon its plinth 'Look upon my works ye mighty and despair'. Who are the powerful when the power has been stripped from the gilded? Do not let the yoke of conspicuous consumption rest easy upon your shoulders. Sacrifices have been made. Do not let them be in vain."

Military forces have already been moved into the affected areas to begin what rescue procedures can be mustered, but much of the Mênnan ground forces have been tied up fighting warlords and rebels in the savanna. The Sâtêp has elected to meet out of regular session hours to coordinate a response to this disaster.

More information will be released as it comes in.

Marians to vote tomorrow in general election of 2018

Image
The six major parties of Dragão do Mar will dispute for the number of seats in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.

Participating in elections is a democratic right for Marian citizens with more than 18 years, which is obligatory to citizens between 21 and 59 years old. The general elections, that are held in the country once every four year since 1946, is when Marians vote to choose the representatives in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, the ultimate legislative bodies the country, as well as the Governor of their province.

The next Marian general election of is scheduled to be held in Dragão do Mar tomorrow. All 231 seats of the Chamber of Deputies will taken into voting, and in the Senate 40 seats of its 81 seats will be voted. The leader of the party that wins the most number of seats in the lower legislative house, the Chamber of Deputies, is expected to become the Prime Minister of Dragão do Mar in order to form the government and run the country. While the leader of the second placed party generally becomes the opposition leader. Depending on the results, the new composition of the lower house can either lead to the designation of a new Prime Minister or the maintaining Leonardo Pinheiro as Head of Government for the next four years.

Context

During his mandate, PM Pinheiro started a period of austerity with cuts in public investment that balanced the public finances and reduced the inflation. He reformulated the Labor Code with the objective of reducing the unemployment and privatized a number of state-owned companies. He also adopted measures of economic liberalization, and proposed the entrance of Dragão do Mar to the Cooperative Union that occurred in 2017.

Since the inauguration of Pinheiro's mandate, politicians of the left-wing noticed the lack of a single person to lead a opposition. However, deputy and ex-governor of Aldeota, Carlos Lacerda was choose leader of Marian Workers' Party (PTM) in 2017, regaining much support to his party. In the campaign for the PTM, Lacerda claimed that Pinheiro neglected the public services of education and healthcare with the cut of new public investments, that his reform of the Labor Code in 2017 was a depreciation to the workers' rights and that the privatization of strategic state-owned companies was the same as selling the wealth of Dragão do Mar. Lacerda also said that Dragão do Mar should strength relations with Almorea and solve old disagreements with the Totzkan Union.

Nobody cares about these signs of Magarati imperialism

Image
Sultan Yonghang with Magarati and Noronnican officials

NEW LIBANG

On Saturday, Mohammed Yonghang was officially crowned the Sultan of Kachee at the presence of Athara Magarati and Noronican dignitaries. The specific date has not been marked but Lortik people of Belle Ilse en Terre are soon to hold referendum on whether to join Athara Magarat as what Jrm Hangma has dubbed "associate hangate" or not. These are tell-tale signs that perhaps the Magaratis are once again back on their imperial path under Jrm Hangma who has been vocal that Chatha and Jaring (Terra-Nuova) be recognized as Magarati hangates not San Montagnan states. Thirty years ago, these situations would have caused international criticism of Magarati administration and huge sanctions with "democratic nations" applying their every diplomatic moves. Sixty years ago, the "Free Powers" would have taken combined military action against Magaratis. Yet today, nobody cares about growing signs that Athara Magarat is becoming militarized and influencing breakaway states across the Isles to join it.

Perhaps the "democratic nations" do not consider Athara Magarat a threat anymore? Perhaps they consider Athara Magarat to be a valuable ally on the war against terror? Perhaps it is because Athara Magarat is a "dedicated member" of the Coalition of Six (C6), Cooperative Union (CU )and Joint Emergency Response Force (JERF)? Perhaps they are more worried about the economy and vital Magarati imports? Perhaps they have their own internal issues to deal with than worry about possible Magarati imperialism?

Until recently the new island nation led by Sultan Yonghang was known as Frébonne state of Charbagnia. The name Kachee derives historically from the fact that it had been settled by Muslim Khas-Kiratis expelled from Magarati mainland during crackdowns on proselytize activities. Until 1779, Kachee had been a playground for the Charbagnian Republic and the Nyssic Colonial Empire. After the decolonization movement taking place in Noronica after the Imperial War, Kachee had joined rest of Charbagnia as Frébonne state.

To appease the Nyssic majority, the new nation's constitution, which is allegedly modeled on Constitution of Athara Magarat (1995), will have a Nyssic Christian as the Prime Minister. Ian McGregor, Trevor Cross and Magaidh O'Neil are among the candidates on the race to become Sultan Yonghang's right hand. And Sultan Yonghang himself will most likely act as a governor from Athara Magarat or Noronica than as the leader of an independent nation. From government to economy to military, almost every matter of this new nation is to tied with either the Magaratis or the Noronnicans.

If Lortika joins Athara Magarat as an "associate hangate", it will most likely share the same fate of Kachee. Magarati companies, unsurprisingly absent from rest of Belle Ilse en Terre, have dominant role in employment and investment in Lortika. Jrm Hangma has stated that the referendum's results would be respected no matter what. The Lortik people's referendum has been delayed time and again due to violent activities but political analysts agree that it is bound to happen. Lortika shall have its own government, currency, language and military but will be heavily dependent on Athara Magarat. It will be even more dependent than Kachee for Sultan Yonghang at least has Noronnicans to balance the overt Magarati influence.

After Kachee, the Magaratis are moving towards Lortika. The question of the hour is, who will be next after Lortika?

INTRODUCTION
On the evening of November 25, 2018, an event that would change the course of Roendavar for years to come has transpired, one that will change the very fabric of politics and life in the fair land that is Roendavar. On that evening, one of the most important and greatest rulers in all of Roendavarian history, has died. On that fateful night, the Hero of the 1969 Treiorevikos, the Father who Tamed the Red Storms, and The Reformer, Dragoi Kairaci Vladimir IV Draculul Avarești has died due to complications with his health after suffering a stroke on October 16, 2018.

It is a very sad time indeed. Most Roendavarians still know how the Great King Vladimir IV changed and reshaped the country into becoming an exemplary nation. He will forever be known as the King who managed to unite the four states of Roendavar into acting as one, rallying all Andavariari, Sudeveriari, Tillianorai, and Vastarosi, to the nation's cause and rebuilding a state where welfare and the well-being of the people are put first, along with vibrant cultural policies and strict environmental policies. However, before we go further into the Great king's achievements, let us first go back to the time where he was born.

EARLY LIFE
March 24, 1945. Roendavar has been brought to its knees by constant wars with its neighbors and the economic depression that was hitting the country hard. On that day, King Vladimir IV was born. Originally named Athriticus Ivarius Avarești, his father was the first Dragoi, King Cornelius Decebal Avarești, known for his role in toppling the violent Republic of Roendavar and restoring the monarchy to the country as well as his reforms that slowly allowed the country to recov er, and his mother was Ana Vandrosiari, a Sudeveriari from the ruling family of Constantiara City.

He was regarded as a smart but introverted kid. He was often seen frolicking around the Royal Gardens everyday as a toddler along with his mother, Queen Ana. Nicknamed "Athri", he spent most of his time in the Grand Dociara Library reading books about Roendavarian Culture and History, both of these fields having a great influence on him for the remainder of his life. Around his highschool years, the Young Crown Prince, instead of being taught inside the castle like his predecessors, chose to enroll at the nearby Dociara Central Highschool. During his time there, he had only a few handful of friends, but the most endearing to him was Luka Trezhenkiyev, a Vastarosi and a classmate of his. According to the Crown prince in an interview in 1962, Luka "...opened his eyes to the massive disparity between states in Roendavar.". Despite the Crown prince's reputation throughout his teenage life, he was reported to have no love interests, choosing to focus on his studies.

In 1963, Athriticus entered the Royal University of Roendavar in Dociara City, taking Political Science and Environmental Law. Professor Cristina Invetișiara, an esteemed Literature Professor in the University, commented on the Prince's capabilities saying "He was a very smart kid. Very adamant about his studies and truly wanted to change Roendavar.". He graduated with one of the highest honors in the country in 1968. After this, he continued to study further in the college and often took trips to Vastaros and Tillianan, monitoring and helping in environmental efforts. However, just a year after he was pursuing a life of normalcy, a series of events would rock the fabric of Roendavarian society. The Dark Year of 1969.

1969: CORONATION, FEAST OF YRALIA BOMBINGS, AND TREIOREVIKOS
Image

On September 17, 1968, King Cornelius Decebal Avarești died, leaving Crown Prince Athriticus as the new King of Roendavar. This came as a shock to the Roendavarian people, as the Crown Prince was only 24 at that time. The Crown Prince had to stop his travels all across the country and remain in the palace to prepare for the 1969 Treiorevikos. He advocated strongly against the event, calling it a barbaric and centuries old policy. Despite his protests, something far more sinister was brewing in Roendavar.

Between the 1930s-1970s, a terrorist group known as the Brotherhood of Petals committed several atrocities all around Roendavar, including mass shootings, killings, kidnappings, torture, and both drug and human trafficking. On December 3, 1968, the main headquarters of the Brotherhood of Petals, located in Tillanora City, were stormed by Roendavarian police, arresting the group's leader Lord Marius Croantentinor Vasreveți Priore of Fină City and 48 other members. As a show of power, Police Chief Gheorgeanu Greveciea ordered that the prisoners be presented in front of the people of Dociara City. However, during the presentation, an angry mob broke through the barricades, grabbed Lord Marius, and beat him to death in front of a cheering crowd.

Although the government thought they finally finished the group off, they would soon face real terror on January 13, 1969. Queen Ana was at the Veireia Monument, as per custom, to deliver the proclamation of the start of the march to Mount Moldoveanești. As Roendavarians gathered around the Queen and prepared for the celebrations of the Feast of Yralia, a pickup truck filled with explosives and artillery shells drove through the crowd and exploded near the Queen, killing her and 53 people instantly, while 10 more would die en route to the hospital. Six more explosions rocked the capital city and its festive people. This was regarded as the deadliest terror attack on Roendavarian soil, and would have a massive effect on the Crown Prince Athriticus.

On January 17, 1969, he was crowned King, changing his name to King Vladimir IV Draculul Avarești, adopting the Vladimir name after the first three Vladimirs of the Ivarian Line, the Kings who established the Empire of Daciara. In the speech that would be known as the "Uniting Speech of the Roendavarians", the young King said,

"Roendavarians, long have we been separated by cultural and economic tensions, and this hatred has resulted in our men, women, and children, facing an uncertain future. If there is one thing we could learn about the Feast of Yralia bombings, that is, there is violence because we allow it to. We allow it to spread its malice upon us, forcing us. Roendavarians, I say enough. We shall fight back at those who wished for violence, and let them know, they shall be absolved. Unite, Roendavar. For our future depends on you."

A wave of Roendavarian nationalism would soon follow the televised event. Normal citizens banded together and waged war against those who sought to further tensions in the country. In the span of 16 months, 1, 278 people would die. Despite the high death toll, it was regarded as a victory for the Roendavarian people as, for once, the Roendavarian people forgot their differences and united against a common enemy. King Vladimir IV would be regarded as the Hero of the 1969 Treiorevikos.

THE RED STORMS
Image

King Vladimir IV enacted many social policies after the devastating effects of the 1969 Treiorevikos. These included free healthcare, free education, subsidized public transportation, and among other policies that favored greatly with the youth but it did not sit well with old voting majority. These policies were not to last as the 1973 State Elections saw the rise of leaders such as Andavarian President Nicolai Așanavici and Sudeveriari President Wiliam Serieste, who sought to undo the reforms, calling them "threats to Roendavarian economic stability." They abolished the policies, which greatly affected poor Roendavarians, especially in Vastaros and Tillianan. King Vladimir IV pleaded with the Grand Court on the annual Summer Meeting of 1974 in the Grand Court to return the policies, but to no avail.

The State Government's decisions were heavily criticised by the youth, especially students. They submitted several petitions to the Grand Court, but these were nto discussed further by the representatives. On May 18, 1975, during the graduation ceremony at the Royal Dociara University, students raided the RNRS (Roendavăriari Nacionaale Radio-ștationi / Roendavarian National Radio Station) and sparked the First Red Storm, the first of two civil uprisings called the Red Storms between 1970-1990. Students and other youth groups rioted on streets in several major cities, with excessive looting and vandalism. With growing tension against the State Governments, King Vladimir IV appeared on live television on October 3, 1975, calling leaders of various youth organizations to come to the Royal Palace. With the four state governments weakened under public pressure, they were brought under the decision of King Vladimir IV and the public to reinstate the policies, as well as the impeachment of all four presidents.

It was also during this time that King Vladimir IV met Alexandra Azaliți, a commoner in Vastaros during a visit in Lantaroci City. He met her during a walk on Lizhenya Park, and he immediately pursued her after that. He invited her and her family to live in Dociara City, where they eventually got married on July 17, 1980, and Alexandra was crowned Queen of Roendavar on July 28, 1980. Despite their marriage, Queen Alexandra bore no children between 1980-1990.

The policies greatly improved the lives of Roendavarians, especially in Vastaros. However, rising taxes and increasing burden on the populace, thousands of migrants escaping insurgencies in other countries and settling in Roendavar, especially from Samudera, as well as opposition to the dismantling of the Roendavarian army greatly angered certain far-right groups in Roendavar. These groups banded with the military and staged a coup on November 2, 1989, with the aim of abolishing the monarchy, especially King Vladimir IV, who they saw as the "destroyer of the Roendavarian blood". The entire city of Dociara turned into a warzone in a single night, with tanks surrounding the city and several artilleries pointed at the Grand Court. The event would be known as the Second Red Storm. In a strong speech, King Vladimir IV called upon the whole country to flock to Dociara City and support the government. Around 2,000,000 civillians entered the city between November 3-5, blocking and fighting the rogue soldiers. Eventually, they rebellion surrendered and the position of the monarchy was solidified.

After the Second Red Storm, King Vladimir IV finally removed any major opposition to the Roendavarian Government and strengthened the monarchy's position as the guiding hand of the country. It would serve as the benevolent parent of the Roendavarian people. HIs ability to defuse the Red Storms without causing casualties has earned him the admiration of the people that would last up for decades to come. This peace eventually gave way to Roendavar's societal upturn, greatly improving the country.

THE BLOOMING DECADE AND HIS LATER YEARS

After the devastating Red Storms, Roendavarian society stabilized and quality of life increased dramatically. Local production of goods accelerated and opened the country to international trade. The population, in turn, grew richer and, with more income, more taxes were received by the government which were used to fund socialized projects like healthcare and education. King Vladimir IV transformed a country entrenched in civil strife and violence into one of the most developed countries in the world in the span of a decade, from 1990-2000. The years were known as the Blooming Decade, a revitalization of Roendavar and its people.

Another well-known event during this time was the birth of the Crown Prince Ivan Alexandru Coaștas Avarești on January 11, 1991, during Unification Day and the start of the Feast of Yralia. This secured the Roendavarian throne and would guarantee the Avarești family's reign for another generation.

HIs other achievements include drastically decreasing the country's dependence on non-renewable energy and enacting a policy of a greener Roendavar. He successfully reduced income inequality in the states of Vastaros and Tillianan. He also reaffirmed Protacism as an integral religion of Roendavar and embarked on various cultural projects that promoted Roendavarian culture, rather than state culture. Under his reign, the country would see its ties with Samudera mend and a stronger alliance with the long-time friend of the country, Ainslie.

His benevolent reign would end on November 25, 2018, declared dead after a long battle with comatose brought by a stroke. His funeral would be commenced on December 26, 2018. The next King, Crown Prince Ivan, would be crowned on January 25, 2018.

King Vladimir IV Draculul Avarești is, perhaps, one of the greatest Kings of Roendavar. He managed to revive a stagnating country and transform it into one of the most prosperous countries in the world, in terms of culture and society. It is hard to imagine Roendavar without him, and it will be hard knowing that we will face the future without the Father who Tamed the Red Storms. Even though he is gone, the lesson he has taught us will forever remain in Roendavarian hearts, and that is, despite our differences, our sense of humanity comes first. When our country is free from hatred, we can live peacefully and prosperous.

On the upcoming Treiorevikos, we advise the people, will violence be the solution? If King Vladimir IV is still alive today, would he want to see his people shattered once more? Think, Roendavar. Think. And may we have a peaceful Treiorevikos.

Red Dragon on its last leg and a Monarchist Coup

Today seemed like another day under Weston's thumb. More lies, censorship, and propaganda.
Oh how we were wrong, at 12 in the afternoon Weston celebrated a great victory as the leader of the Red Dragons, Victoria Lucia, was assassinated in a raid.
At 2:30 we intercepted messages from the group and infighting had broken out, some committed suicide, and some even went home and gave up.
At 4:00 the radio chatter had stopped as the remainder had quit seeing no reason to fight.

All seemed good, but one problem loomed.
President Weston had abandoned the principles we were founded on, liberty, loyalty and justice.
Her power was a threat, and despite everything said she was very disliked, often forcing media to lie about her popularity.
But something had finally exploded, something in the making since the fall of the 4th Terrak Empire.
At 9pm a group of 50 soldiers lead by Tullis Quer, descendent of Frai Quer I, Prince of the 3rd Terrakie Empire, had stormed the Dunik Capital Building.
Earlier at 8:30, soldiers backing the heir to the throne had held military bases hostage, arresting pro Weston soldiers temporarily, some even broke into fighting.

At 9:15, Jane Weston, who was out numbered, abdicated, and at 9:20 she ordered her troops to stand down.
At 9:30 all fighting ceased, and the message had got through.
Jane Weston was placed under arrest for war crimes at 9:32, and at 9:40, 13 generals were also arrested for war crimes.
They will be tried on December 20th.

Tullis Quer had addressed the nation at 9:50.
Stating that he will ascend to the throne and he will establish a constitutional monarchy in Oturia.
He will never allow another "Weston" incident to happen again.

Ruios and Vancouvian Infantry begin early morning exercies

Ruios and Vancouvia began an 8-week long joint military exercise this morning as the two nations strengthen their ties. Large military formations were seen in Northen Ruios as Vancouvian Ground Forces joined Infantry and Armoured Brigades from Ruios in 'Exercise Iron Taco', a two month operation which will include air force exercises around the International District (I.D).

More than 5,600 military personnel from both nations will take part in the exercise over eight weeks. Iron Taco incorporates the tri-services, this year the training scenarios involve multiple tasks and missions including, disputing resources and territories, counter-terrorism and anti-smuggling activity, information warfare and evacuation operations. The exercise will provide the two allied nations the opportunity to train together across air, land, sea and cyber domains.

The exercise will finish on 3 Febuary 2019 inside the I.D, where the forces will conduct urban operations with troops from the Ruios Parachute regiment and Vancouvian Special Forces taking part and air support provided by Ruios and Vancouvian naval aircraft.

Ruios Army Commander, General Gulermo Bachoa said that the operation will be of great benefit to both nations.
"This exercise gives the Ruios participants a chance to train with our allies and partners, honing our skills and developing our tactics. It is hugely important in making sure that we can fuse all elements of our capabilities, enhancing our ability to conduct joint operations now and in the future. Iron Taco prepares our troops in the best way to meet the intensifying threats our country faces by providing a major opportunity to exercise with our allies. Our Armed Forces are the face of global Ruios, and training side by side with troops from Vancouvia means we are stronger and more capable when it comes to keeping our countries safe and protecting our way of life."

24 People Dead in Gang Warfare

Biggest gang related murder for 20 years

The Sheriff of Jalejo, Panala County has declared a county emergency after 24 bodies were found dumped in an alleyway, believed to be a gang related massacre. Several of the bodies, including men and women were found with hands and feet tied and killed in multiple ways according to Scene Investigators. The bodies were discovered in the early hours of yesterday morning as local Law Enforcement and County Sheriff's cordened off the alleyway and a two-block exclusion zone around the scene.

Sheriff Hermes Estavez has declared a county wide emergency this morning. He believes that the bodies was related to known gang activity that plagues both Panala and Slain Counties. The identities of the body remain undisclosed for now as investigations continues but Sheriff Estavez thinks is could be the result of an ongoing escalation in gang violence. Speaking to reporters, Sheriff Estavez confirmed that this was the worst massacre in Panala County in over 20 years:

"I can confirm that the bodies of twenty-four people were found inside Jalejo in the early hours of yesterday morning. Several of the bodies were found tied up and all with gun shot, bladed or blunt weapon trauma. We believe this to be the result of local gang disputes over drugs and territory which has plagued our great county for decades. We are currently investigating several avenues of enquiry but it will take time. We ask the public of our fair town to remain vigilant and notify local Police or Sheriff of anything deemed suspicious. We do not think there is a wider danger to the public and that this is a isolated gang incident. I have authorized more police patrols and county road blocks to ensure the safety and security of this county".

If you have seen, heard or know anything about this crime, please contact police on 111.

More on this story to follow as it develops.

2018 TREIOREVIKOS: GUIDELINES

This is an official announcement and statement from the Roendavarian Government, approved by the Grand Court, and sanctioned by the Crown Prince. All guidelines are final and will not be subject to change.

Dăira, Roendavarians! It has been a week since our previous King, the Late Dragoi King Vladimir IV Draculul Avarești, has passed away, and it has also been a week since the 2018 Treiorevikos has started.

Again, the Treiorevikos is a centuries old Roendavarian tradition wherein certain acts of crime are legal for three months, unless extended or declared over before the time frame, after a monarch's death. However, to balance this time of lawlessness, emergency services like healthcare, fire protection, etc., are still available and will still act to combat threats to safety. The Roendavarian police will also try to stop any crime but they cannot perform any arrests. All historical and significant buildings have immunity. All emergency services, both offices and personnel, have immunity. All foreign assets have immunity and all crimes directed at such shall be punished. As a security measure, Treiorevikos will temporarily be halted on December 26-27 to ensure the safety of foreign guests and people.

Although the Treiorevikos has always been part of Roendavarian culture, the current government is committed on its stance to make the 2018 Treiorevikos as peaceful as possible without incident. As such, we would like to discourage all Roendavarians to participate in the event and not support any rogue factions seeking to uproot the progress we have already achieved. Despite all our warnings, Roendavar is a free country, and therefore, we cannot truly dissuade you from joining. The government asks this of the people, make this the most peaceful one yet.

We assure the international community that international laws and human rights shall still be observed. We cannot guarantee your people's safety here in Roendavar, but we shall assure you that we shall try to keep them safe.

If you wish to participate, below are the list of crimes that are legal and crimes that will stay illegal:

Allowed Crimes
  1. Murder, although heavily discouraged.
  2. Robbery, Theft, and Looting
  3. Arson*
  4. Assault and Battery
  5. Slander and Hate Speech
  6. Terrorism**
  7. Motor Vehicle Theft
  8. Fraud
  9. Vandalism
  10. Drug Manufacturing, Trafficking, and Distribution***
  11. Harassment, Public Disturbance, and Disturbing the Peace

Crimes that will stay Illegal
  1. Tax Evasion
  2. Sexual Assault and Rape
  3. Mass Murder****
  4. Extortion and Kidnapping for Ransom
  5. Money Laundering
  6. All other crimes not mentioned

Notes:
*-Except for National Parks, Structures of Cultural Importance, and Nature Reserves
**-Terrorism is a broad definition and it is up to the courts whether to classify if an act is legal or not. We suggest the populace to refrain from doing so.
***-See Drug Classifications Act. All recreational drugs classified in Category 1 and 2 (ex. Marijuana and Alcohol) are legal. Categories 3 and 4 (ex. Cocaine, Heroin, Ecstasy) shall remain illegal.
****-Vague Term, although courts would count Mass Murder as "an event where ten or more people are deliberately exterminated with the intention to kill". Debatable in court.

Special Report: Murder on the Mesder in Nirapanza city

Image
Nirapanza's Porto Velho slums are one of Totzka's most violent districts

The Federal Government has announced it will not be deploying the Armed Forces to restore order to the murder-ridden city of Nirapanza. Instead the director for the Federal Security Headquarters, Govind Sarvesh, prevailed on the Estado Nirapanza state government to put more State Security Officers on the ground. Last month the city’s annual number of homicides reached 6,613, the highest it has been since the end of the Totzkan Revolution. Over 150 killed were State Security Officers while 19 were children, belonging to the city’s Chebey community. Four local Academia da Vidas have announced they are moving their facilities outside the city, evacuating over 1,600 children from the city. While apologists claim the recent spike in murders was due to last month’s elections the truth is Totzkan homicide rate has been steadily rising throughout the country since President Amero took office in 2015. Power struggles within the Conselho Supremo has seen Section 5, Director Sarvesh’s conventional security forces, neutered in favour of Section 9, the Executive for Domestic Security under Director Yuuta Hummel. Hummel’s agents may be efficiently infiltrating terrorist cells and rounding up journalists in the night, but they care little for stopping gang shootouts or theft at gun point. And of course, it is the ordinary Totzkan citizen who suffer as a result.

Particularly dangerous is the Porto Velho district which saw over 300 murders between February and September this year. The district, composed of hundreds of abandoned fisheries and beached fishing vessels hastily converted into cramped living accommodation in the 1980s, is overrun with unemployment, gangs and crime. One resident, Kamala, a 26-year old resident of the Porto Velho told us “its near impossible to live here anymore. Every night it’s just more and more shooting and every morning there’s just more blood and bodies in the water.” Kamala tells us how her neighbour, Tércio, was killed only four months ago. “There was many twenty or twenty-five of us having this barbecue when we hear gunshots and we don’t think anything of it because that’s all common going’s on down here. A little while later we start hearing this ringing sound and bullets start rolling over the deck and we realise we’re in the crossfire. Now Tércio used to run with the Armed Legions under Chirapati back in the ‘90s so he’s got his Guadaña with him, his service rifle right. Now he’s smart enough not to use it, he’s just making sure we’re not troubled while we all get back to our boats. Tércio makes sure we all get to our homes, no casualties, and then he goes to back to his and, well, it turns out that’s where they [the shooters] were firing at us from. They dumped his body in the Mesder. I don’t think anyone’s fished it out yet.” When we asked Kamala if the government should be doing more to protect her city she patriotically replied “In the first articles of our Constitution - the provisions of peace in Totzka - there’s a clause which goes something like ‘In event of violence between any individuals, organisations or provinces within the Totzkan Union the government shall intervene and resolve such conflict prioritising peaceful means to do so.’ There’s violence everywhere but I don’t see the government doing anything.” Kamala currently works in Nirapanza’s entertainment district, she’s been hiding her salary away with the hope of buying a home in Sao Tiago and leave behind the Porto Velho slums for good.

Porto Velho is belonging in Commissioner Aline Carmo Rao’s district. Carmo was recently influential in securing the government a majority within the Comissão Popular and some may hope Carmo’s new found connections with the Federal Government may lead to the situation in the slums improving but Kamala remains unconvinced. She tells us she didn’t even know what her Commissioner looked like until her face started appearing the news four weeks ago.

Put simply, the Estado Nirapanza State Security Section (SSEN) does not have the manpower needed to restore order to the city. State Security Director Virgílio Harshad Sharma told us “We just not recruiting enough officers to adequately patrol large portions of the city. We aren’t being given the funds to give the officers a decent salary. Most guys on the street know they can turn over more working for syndicates, maybe as protection or enforcers, than they will in uniform.” In 2016 the Federal Government cut a lot of programs designed to enable Federal Security and State Security to support each another claiming that funding was being embezzled by local politicians and State Security Directors and yet now they claim that this weakened State Security section must be wholly responsible for their inability to protect their city. It seems the Federal Government, like Kamala, is giving up on Nirapanza.

"This is a haphazard action with lack of consideration to the municipal soveirgnity of Del'Alexin first and as a whole to the entire Gael region. BREAKING: Sudden Riot Sweeps Alban and South Alban, 5 dead, several more hospatalized
Image
The Situation in Arván has suddenly deteriorated with no end in sight

By: Ellery Ackerman

As the situation in Noronica worsens, the Territory of Arván (the disputed Dormill-Stiuraian Administration in the peninsula) has been fighting a long yet quiet conflict to remain in control of the situation and not call the attention of the Noronnican government. Unfortunately for them, a spontaneous riot organized by unknown individuals has swept the area, focused in Alban, the capital of the Territory, and South Alban, Kapolder. Reports from earlier this afternoon suggest that while police and SWAT in both cities initially contained the situation, more and more members joined in coordinated attacks throughout the following hours, overwhelming police and driving them further from the centers of violence. Reports also indicate several cases of looting, arson, and general violence has gripped the cities. Governor Tuur Klerkse of Kapolder responded to the situation in South Alban by deploying the 2nd Kapolder Citizen's Guard, ordering them to reinforce local law enforcement, but has not suspended posse comitatus, stating "The men and women of the police of South Alban shall retain their authority to enforce the law, this should not be considered an invasion by the Citizen's Guard." When the Governor was asked later in the same press conference if he would send troops to Alban, he responded in no certain terms that due to the political situation in Alban, he would not be able to deploy troops, but would support any effort to restore order in the city.

Check the results of Dragão do Mar's 2018 general election

Image

Yesterday, a number of 12,139,063 million citizens across the country gave their votes for senators and federal deputies between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, to elect the parliament of Dragão do Mar. Now with 99.99% of votes accounted, check here the changes in the Marian executive and legislative powers.

The Parliament

As suggested by opinion polls on the election of yesterday, PDN and PES lose seats in the Marian Congress, while PTM and PCC had major gains. However, the rise of PTM was much bigger than expected, as the party was expecting to elect 65 federal deputies and in the end of the day it elected 95. Specialists have commented that there is a high chance that losses of PDN and PES were caused by a polarization caused by right-wing populism advocated by the PCC, and PTM's projects with inspiration in left-wing populism, causing a split in the most centrist parties that favored the center-left PTM.

With a confirmed change in majority of the Chamber of Deputies of Dragão do Mar, the leader of the Marian Workers' Party, Paulo Lacerda was confirmed to serve as the Prime Minister of Dragão do Mar for the next four years, with his mandate starting at January 7th 2019.

Paulo Lacerda is graduated in law with Doctorate in Public Law and Government Economics. He started his political career as provincial deputy in 1988 as a member of the PDN party, but changed to the PTM in 1992 and served as federal deputy in the following years. He served as mayor of Fortaleza from 2000 to 2004 and governor of Aldeota from 2006 to 2010.

Lacerda is highly against privatizations, especially in financial, mining and energy sectors. He intends to create social programs aimed to the low-income population and immigrants. Lacerda said he won't cut welfare funds, and that he would rather increase it if possible. He told that the reform in the Labor Code approved in 2017 by Leonardo Pinheiro would be revoked, and that he would enact a statute to give more power to labor unions and adopt measures to increase workers' productivity. According to him, he defends a "humanist public security", that combines social programs, measures to decrease economic inequality and the police action, and he's against gun possession legalization. In the economics, he intents to reduce tax exemption and the Marian foreign debt, and to increase the taxes of the high-income population.

PM Leonardo Pinheiro, who campaigned for a re-election with support of his party, couldn't overcome popular disapproval. According to a internal source, the serving PM Pinheiro have done a phone call today to PM-elect Paulo Lacerda, congratulating his victory.

Vancouvian Occupation Zone, Charbagnia

Vancouvian Congress Authorizes Massive Changes in Vancouvian Occupation Zone of Charbagnia

The Vancouvian Occupation Zone in former Charbagnia has undergone a revitalization today, after an early morning policy statement was released by the Vancouvian Congress, which outlined broad strokes changes for the large central-south swath of the country. The following summarizes the changes outlined by Congress:

1. The Vancouvian Occupation Zone will henceforth be renamed as "Vancouvian Agnion" and the residents there living will be known as the "Agnionese"

2. Vancouvian Agnion shall be governed under the laws of Vancouvia as a "Special Region" and shall be governed by a committee of Agnionese appointed by the Vancouvian Congress for two year terms. All Agnionese shall be granted much of the same rights as Vancouvian citizens, but shall not legally be Vancouvian citizens

3. All Agnionese are permitted the right to request relocation rights to the Vancouvian mainland and Vancouvian citizenship. Preference shall be given to those with needed and uncommon skills, and those signing on to the Vancouvian military

4. The border crossings with the neighboring zones shall be closed for a period of thirty days, effective immediately, with some rare exceptions

5. The Vancouvian military shall begin a "prolonged withdrawal" from Agnion, concurrent with the training and deployment of a 10,000+ strong Agnionese Defense Force

6. Vancouvian English shall be the national language, gradually replacing the currently de facto German. The Vancouvian cove shall be the national currency. Vancouvian holidays shall be celebrated alongside former Charbagnian holidays.

7. Vancouvian businesses shall be permitted and encouraged to "develop, build, hire, buy, sell, and otherwise conduct commerce" in Agnion

These changes impact the roughly five million former Charbagnians living in Agnion, the most populous zone of former Charbagnia. Locals have already swept to the streets en masse, with both pro and anti-Vancouvian demonstrations underway. Helmwerder, the former capital of greater Charbagnia where roughly 3.2 million citizens reside, has polled largely pro-Vancouvia, in contrast with the more rural areas of the territory. Commentators have speculated that the more highly skilled, richer, English-fluent Helmwerders have a much better opportunity to be approved for Vancouvian citizenship.

Main concerns from the Agnionese are the possible brain-drain resulting from Vancouvian intentions to approve "the best and brightest" for Vancouvian citizenship, the seemingly overt dismantling of Charbagnian culture, and the continued lack of governmental representation. Congress has already addressed the last concern, releasing a statement late this afternoon that a transition to "self-determination and Agnion democracy" will occur within the next four years.

Roughly 5,000 Vancouvian National Army soldiers were deployed to Agnion the preceding week, likely in order to preempt any sort of mass uprising or dissent from the neighboring zones.

It is still unknown whether Vancouvian allies Noronica and Ostehaar were briefed on these radical changes before today. The northern French Republic of Charbagnia is likely to react negatively.

Yesterday: Scenes Of Chaos As Police Wrestle Control Of Alban

Arván And Kapolder Confrontation As Riots Calm
Written by: Fabien Macrot

As the rioting in both Arván's Alban and Kapolder's South Alban calms due to the efforts of authorities on both sides, tensions rise dramatically as troops of the 2nd Kapolder Citizen's Guard move into contested territory. In response, Arvanan troops have lined the unofficial border. With the threat of violence looming, the Prefect of Arván, Lord Bartholomew Montague calls for calm and cooperation on all sides.

Yesterday, the memory of the chaos of 2017 violently sprung to the streets of Alban, as a so-far unclaimed riot festered in the southernmost city of the Prefectorial State. Leading the efforts was Prefect Montague, who coordinated efforts to put an end to the rioting. Resorting to the use of Arvanan troops to restore order to the streets and suburbs of Alban, his authority brushed against that of the unofficial Dormill and Stiuraian Alban administration in the city, who were coordinating their own efforts on the streets.

The chaos in Alban swiftly subsided once troops entered the city, as at around 7:00 this morning, the violence ceased. The same could also be said for South Alban. The Governor of Kapolder, Governor Tuur Klerkse, ordered troopers of the 2nd Kapolder Citizen's Guard to quell the situation in South Alban, meaning that both cities were under the control of their respective authorities, but this served only to worsen the situation.

Due to the usage of Dormill and Stiuraian military on a contested territory, Arvanan state troops were forced to line the claimed Dormill and Stiuraian border as per protocol. The Noronnican Prime Minister, Joshua McIntosh, who had so far remained silent on the situation, called the situation an 'act of senseless posturing by the Kapolder State administration'.

When the Arván Post attempted to contact the Prefect's office, the response was that 'he is currently in discussions with Dormill and Stiuraian authorities'. With the Nolon administration seemingly allowing its Prefect to handle the situation, this begs the question as to whether he will be able to solve this issue alone.

The Arván Post will keep you updated on this story. If you want to be first to be updated, make sure to allow notifications on your device.

Gael
Vancouvia-Ruios Wargames: How does this affect regional tensions?

The decision of these two governments to flex their military muscles could not come at a more potent time. How will Gael react?

In recent years, the Gael region has attained a reputation for its stability as opposed to other areas of the Isles which often see large conflicts. 2018 has not been Gael's year in this regard. Samudera has been struck with political and judicial crises following the death of a chief justice, Negarakita's stable ruling coalition has collapsed following corruption charges leading to a snap election, Dormill has had problems with Arvan and Roendavar is heading into the first Treiorevikos in almost 50 years. This is without mentioning the Orsandian civil war, which has only just started to wind down after months of violence. This series of unfortunate events has cast a shadow over a region which for years was a shining example to the rest of the isles.

This has been the backdrop of Ruios' recent decision to hold war games with Vancouvia. The war games will take place for the next few weeks and shall, in the words of the government of Ruios, "mean [they] are stronger and more capable when it comes to keeping [their] countries safe and protecting [their] way of life". Vancouvia, for their part, spoke of how the drills were primarily aimed at improving their ability to fight terrorism. Both of these explanations are perfectly valid. As Vancouvian Senator Debby Oliente said, "Vancouvia and Ruios have every right and responsibility to conduct these war games". Then what is the trouble here, and why have several Gaelitic nations been up in arms about the manoeuvres?

As a region, Gael is relatively close-knit. While rivalries between nations clearly exist, there are very few openly hostile relations between Gaelitic nations. This has led to a sort of inward focus among many of the nations and a general distrust of foreign influences. Alliances such as the G4 are testament to this. So the involvement of an Argean power such as Vancouvia in military matters in Gael is seen by many as the involvement of a foreign power which they do not trust. For their part, Vancouvia have done little to put down such fears. Their ham-fisted treatment of the Illa Isle issue has been combined with a steady dial-up of foreign deployments across the isles. Even domestically, there are fears that Vancouvian imperialism is a true danger, so the traditionally suspicious Gaelitic nations are understandably worried by this. General Storm of Vancouvia himself said that the purpose of the drills was to "strengthen [Vancouvia's] capabilities abroad". Their desire to get involved in the Arván dispute has also been interpreted as a warning sign by many in Gael.

Aruia was the first nation to address the issue, highlighting the lack of consultation with neighbouring nations and tactless timing in a region which currently wants little reminder of war. The Ahnslen foreign ministry expressed "early concerns about unnecessary activities close to our sovereign waters", while Negarakitan Minister of Foreign Affairs Hasballah Yusuf decried the "lack of respect for the rest of the region", and while acknowledging that Ruios and Vancouvia had the right to pursue such actions stating that "Negarakita could not support the timing of the war games, and would watch the situation closely". No Gael nations have threatened any actions against either party, as these are just early days, but the mood should be read by both parties lest they try to increase their military actions.

"CONGRATULATIONS, PAULO"
President congratulates Marian PM-elect Lacerda, expresses hope for "even warmer relations"

Image
President Alasdair Hallowell waves to the public after leaving Carldon Hall, December 5, 2018

ELLSBURGH (FBCA)- President Alasdair Hallowell today called the Prime Minister-elect of Dragão do Mar, Paulo Lacerda, to congratulate him on his party's recent electoral victory that will deliver him the premiership beginning on January 7.

Carldon Hall announced the call in a press release this morning, saying that Hallowell and Lacerda shared a "friendly and animated" discussion. Hallowell is half-Marian and, broadly speaking, shares liberal political views with Lacerda. Lacerda has frequently expressed his wish for closer relations with Almorea.

President Hallowell offered more details on the call as he spoke to reporters upon leaving his residence this afternoon, en route to a meeting with Treasury officials. The President described Lacerda's victory as a "great moment" for Dragão do Mar, and elaborated on his hopes for Lacerda's premiership.

"I know Paulo. I met him when I was a senator. I can tell you, he's a great guy, and he's gonna bring even warmer relations- an even warmer attitude, I should say, to the diplomacy between us. I want the alliance to grow stronger, he wants it to grow stronger, and I can tell you we have some exciting plans in the works."

Pressed as to what this meant, Hallowell declined to say more. The President also expressed his appreciation for outgoing Prime Minister Leonardo Pinheiro, who was initially slated to visit Ellsburgh in January. The invitation has been re-extended to Lacerda, who has accepted it, according to a source in the Almorean embassy in Fortaleza.

Lacerda's impending promotion is another bright spot for an administration that has scored some domestic wins in recent days. After much haggling, the 2019-20 federal budget was passed by the Senate on December 3, and is expected to be signed into pending effect by President Hallowell tomorrow. The President will also sign a bipartisan bill to spend $130 million to power all government buildings in the capital with solar power.

Hallowell has, however, been troubled by the Inspector General's ongoing investigation of the Transportation Department, which began in early November when $12 million was found to have disappeared during an audit. The economy also continues to be an issue; in November's report, unemployment held steady at 14.6% and labor force participation fell further.

Another headache for the administration has been the ongoing situation in Noronica, to which Almorea is linked by economic and ethnic ties. The past days have seen spiking tensions in Arván between the prefectorial government, supported by Noronica, and Dormill and Stiura. Secretary of State Kirk Thurson issued a statement earlier today, asking for "rapid and clean deescalation in Arván".

The Secretary of State also called on Dormill and Stiura to "respect the territorial integrity of the Prefectorial State of Arván[...] the Federal Union of Almorea defends the right of the Arvanan people to peaceful self-determination."

DEATH TOLLS CREST 1000 IN KUNÊSHÊKTÊMILU DISASTER

KUNÊSHÊKTÊMILU - Death tolls following the bombing of Kunêshêktêmilu Hydroelectric Facility have broken one thousand, with more reports of the dead coming in each minute. The number of injured and displaced has yet to be full Military forces on the ground have described the scene as “something post-apocalyptic”, with much of the basin below the dam being flooded and whole villages being wiped off the map. Workers are struggling around the clock to prevent further damage the dam, which may break and cause more flooding to the area.

“You’ll shift some rubble a tiny bit, and suddenly a body will bob to the surface,” said one soldier sent to help with relief. “It’s horrible.”

Sâtêp members are currently pushing for the ‘uhitap a Tempore to withdraw from negotiations with groups that have previously supported or been supported by Blue Yesterday. According to the traditionalist segments of the government, “being seen maintaining diplomacy with these organizations comes across as tacit bending in the way of terrifying terrorist activity”. ‘AT Ihwalâ has commented that “as much focus as possible should be put on relief efforts” and that “until the immediate threats to our civilian population in the wake of this disaster are quelled, all other matters pale in comparison”.

“Our attentions and efforts are required in the areas most affected by the aftermath of the dam bombing,” ‘AT Ihwalâ stated. “Until such a time as we have accounted for the collateral damage caused for this heinous action and have aided those survivors we can, political concerns and divisions have to be set aside.”

Individuals in the modernist camp of Mênnan politics have commented that the bombing may not have caused as much damage as it did if Mênnan infrastructure hadn’t been left to decline in the past decade. In addition, this decline has also caused problems with relief efforts, with many roads into the region being insufficient for the needs of regional support following the disaster. Internationalist thinkers have called on the government to reach out to foreign supporters in this time.

“If other nations and organizations find it in their hearts to aid us, they will be welcomed with open arms and all the hospitality of the Mênna,” ‘AT Ihwalâ stated in reply. “I have already ensured that a request will be made in the League.”

Power across the grid has remained spotty as the remaining turbines of the dam have been still since the bombing. Eastern Mênna Shuli has been hardest-hit by outages, causing further risk to the populace. While smaller communities remain relatively unaffected due to limited electrical infrastructure in the first place, larger cities are more drastically affected. Some hospitals have stated that the outages have put many in danger, while traffic problems have been exacerbated in many places. Spikes in collisions and lethal accidents have been reported, and criminal activity in several areas has already seen a rise.

“Nâtkut Sumi will be held to account for this week,” said the ‘uhitap a Tempore. “That I can promise.”

Your Weather: Arnton - 10C/-4C

DOMESTIC: Hailes’ ACEGAD wins big as APC falters further
Arnton, Ainslie
Voter turnout was well in the 90s when it comes to percentages in Wesland, as residents sought to vote on their futures - their verdict on the past year of ACEGAD Governance, their confidence in the APC and their interest in the illusive Indenats. A strong lead throughout the past three weeks of campaigning has allowed Brianna Hailes to win the Governorship with a 13% lead over second place, oddly in line with opinion polls conducted throughout the election campaign. Hailes was sworn in at Government House on the 3rd of December and held a speech on the lawns subsequently to this, following tradition for Governors of electorates. Typically, party victories are only celebrated after election results come out - the Governor-elect's speech only occurs after his or her's swearing in.

Ardill and Dobson conceded quite early with their preference flows to ACEGAD bolstering the party's defence against the up and coming United for Ainslie party. Escalation in combatative rhetoric between Dobson's APC and UFA resulted in a change in preference flows which meant that none of the other four largest parties were doing preference deals with the former leftist juggernaut.

Dobson did not speak in front of his party faithful, but Ardill addressed a gathering of LLST supporters in Hauton that night.

”Our bold vision for a Wesland which is further prosporous both in its social life and in its natural environment has had support for a long time. We are thankful for the amount of voters who did turn out for us but unfortunately it did not get us across the line. We look forward to seeing what a Hailes ACEGAD Government will bring us and we congratulate the winners on such a respectful campaign. We do hope we will be able to collaborate with ACEGAD like we have in the past. Thanks for coming out.

Ardill's noticeable evading of the LLST crisis that ultimately lost them the Governorship back in 2017 and quite possibly in this election seems to unveil a new leaf for the party with the liberal leftists seeking to capture the young ACEGAD vote which rallied so strongly for Hailes.

Xavier Broadby of the Independent Nationalists party stayed defiant and did not concede the elections, despite being far ahead of the lead in all the opinion polls and only getting a noteable swing towards his party in the Western Tablelands. He spoke on Saturday morning when the official election results came out.

”One again the centre will fail Wesland. Only we are the Party that can deliver more jobs, a stronger culture and a more steady future for Wesland. We congratulate Hailes on her hard fought win and congratulate ACEGAD for their efforts in the election, but we watch with concern as they continue to take Ainslie the wrong way one electorate at a time. The Indenats are not finished yet. We will be back. Thank you."

So, let's see how the parties ended up polling at across the regions:
  • ACEGAD has won Arnton North comfortably and the safe seat of Arnton Central stays with the party. Despite a declining LLST vote, Hauton is taken by ACEGAD as a result of preference flows. In Highland Ridge, Upper Wesland and the Wesland Ranges the dividends of increased focus on the regions by the party has delivered them this seat. A small majority in the Southern Tablelands allowed the party to retain the seat.
  • UFA has won Arnton South after a tight race with ACEGAD and have won Eastern Forests and Foothills easily. UFA has won over Port Blaxland.
  • Preference flows didn't move exactly as planned in Western Tablelands with many of the UFA voters indicating their second preferences as the Indenats. This, combined with the growing base of voters in the seat who support Indenats ideology has allowed them to take the seat.

Both the LLST and the APC do not hold a seat, yet have won particular council elections.

And the final result for Governor of Wesland:
Here's how the candidates for governor fared:
  • Brianna Hailes (ACEGAD) - 41% +2
  • Lucas Gillmore (UFA) - 27% -2
  • Ashton Ardill (LLST) - 9% -3
  • Xavier Broadby (IN) - 9% +3
  • Isaac Dobson (APC) - 6% -1

A 14% swing against ACEGAD on a council by council basis is actually a victory for the party who have effectively managed the correction of a vote which saw LLST voters go straight to ACEGAD amidst a crisis in the liberal leftist party. In addition to this, strong campaigns from UFA and the Indenats made it additionally difficult. Despite the swing saying differently, this is a good result for the ruling party in the electorate who have maintained control of Wesland with a comfortable 61% majority.

INTERNATIONAL: Refugees to go to Roendavar under Hailes’ maiden policy
Arnton, Ainslie

Following the recent Orsandian Civil War and subsequent sanctions on Thuzbekistan, the latter nation has been launched into a deep recession with their export-oriented economy being torn through causing mass unemployment, high rates of inflation and a significant worsening in the economic outlook for the nation. As a result of this darkened speculation, many Thuzbeks have been looking for a way out of the nation, legally or illegally. Whilst the wealthier people have moved to nations like Samudera and Keverai and those in the lower class unable to leave, the declining middle class has searched for options from neighbouring nations.

Many of the nations nearby have been declining or recovering, leaving one major beacon of stability - despite how dark or grey it is throughout the year. Gresswell Island - utilitarianism and natural social equality makes the Island an excellent place for refugees if it were to have facilities that could support a sizeable inflow. For reference, only 10 refugees have been allowed into the Island in the past two years, just under 10% of the total citizen population of the area. This makes Gresswell Island one of the most desirable launching points to more stable life in a nation like Ainslie (whom technically Gresswell Island are a part of) or other nations in Gael which is far easier to do if refugees made it into the Unified Electorates.

However, Ainslie's often compassionate approach to government policy does not translate to immigration policy, leaving it exceptionally difficult for refugees to enter the nation. This leaves Ainslie in an interesting place to respond to this increase in economic migrants from Thuzbekistan. As the federal immigration policy does not offer a framework for the management of migrants of an economic nature, it is left to the electorates to decide. As Gresswell Island is technically a part of Wesland from a legal standpoint, it was left to the incoming Weslander Governor to work on it. That person is Brianna Hailes, who won convincingly in late November.

Today, in one of her first speeches as Governor revealed the creation of a new policy surrounding these economic refugees as well as announcing her visit to Gresswell Island.

"With the Federal Government busy with the Norlandic Government and facilitating the legal processing of Orsandian refugees, a new issue has presented itself on the shores of our most northernmost territory - Gresswell Island. It was left to the Wesland Electoral Government to decide upon appropriate action and with support from Ms Gifford, we have struck a deal with the Roendavar to initially process up to 2,000 migrants in Greston for transfer to the nation. Whilst Roendavar is not the most stable at the moment their ability to manage migrants in the future is quite outstanding and similar to our own capacity. A tent city will be created near Greston to ensure these migrants are safe and warm whilst we do the checks we need to."

Non Governmental Organisations have been rapidly preparing to go to Greston after the news revealed by the Governor of Wesland. REM, a medical NGO as well as the Peace Coalition have announced that they will be rushing to Gresswell Island to support the refugees
