The sun rose on Weinam this morning shining a new light down on the nation. The shades of red that shrouded the nation for decades are being washed away with a new identity of blues and golds as Weinam dramatically shifts from the Left to a more Center - Right position in the world. News of Weinam's shift in political views are still echoing around the world, but Weinam is wasting no time in transitioning from red to blue. All communist propaganda, messages, statutes, signs and banners are being removed and burned from every city, town, street and building. The Weinamese military, police force, security services and government departments are also undergoing radical change into the new light. The country already feels so different, it feels fresh, reinvigorated and happy. People have been seen dancing, laughing and smiling in the streets waving blue flags and the new Weinamese flag soon to be unveiled has also danced in the breeze of rebirth.
President Lin Zheng, who was appointed leader following the controversy of her predecessor, has guided Weinam into new territory with strong confidence and determination to build Weinam into a global powerhouse. Reforms in trade, security and economy was the foundation for this historic moment which we now stand. It is going to take some time before Weinam is fully transitioned, but changes are already being made, changes which are giving the Weinamese citizens hope and freedom for a brighter and stronger future.
Weinam's change in stance is not without it's troubles. Weinam had a very strong and close friendship with Thuzbekistan and Samudera during it's communist years. Those friendships are unlikely to remain standing, given recent developments, yet President Zheng doesn't seem worried or fazed by the fear of broken relations. Zheng admitted that it hurts to suddenly close very open and free relations, but Weinam now had the means and the freedom to build even more ties to the international world. Zheng also stated that Weinam does not have any ill-feelings towards Thuzbekistan or Samudera and will continue to seek communication with both nations wherever possible.
Freedom of the press and media will also play a huge part in the future of Weinam. The ability to provide uncensored and unbias affairs to the people of Weinam will bring mass information never seen before. Television and radio shows previously banned or censored are now flowing through the airwaves, as are movies never before shown in Weinam. These changes are going to take some time to adjust to, especially for those who know of no other life, but it's hoped that the country will see these radical changes benefit the population over the next few months as a new brighter sun begins to shine over the country.
The Oturian national, who was arrested for spying, is to be released without charge. The unnamed individual will be allowed to leave Weinam and return to Oturia with all charges dropped. It's thought that the reasoning is related to the new Weinamese political stance, but official reasoning has yet to be given. The man will be given a free flight from Weinam to Oturia, but is believed to be unable to re-enter Weinam for a period of 12 months as the countries immigration, visa and visitation policies are being restructured. Prisioners across the country are also being reviewed following this change, with many more expected to be pardoned and released over the coming weeks.
