Elections, Embassies, and Festivities

A mighty eventful weekend has just passed the Xrevaran government as the first week of campaigning ends for upcoming Parliament elections. A state meeting with a representative of Vucari and an ambitious roll of legislation from the Royal Palace have also taken place.

With all the seats in Parliament up for election, voters are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of candidates all with different ideals for the nation. The three main topics of these campaigns and debates seem to be centered around Foreign Aid, Industry, and the role of religion in the Xrevaran Government. The latter being the most divisive issue as candidates seem to be split down the middle between supporting secularism in the state and the other half supporting the tying of Xrevaran Law & Policy to the ”rules” of Heyúva. The Royal Palace will be revealing a list at the end of this week listing candidates from most to least favored and people have questioned their place to do so. The issue of Heyúva in the government finds its way into Foreign Aid as well, as the Royal Palace unfurls another set of Royal Decrees.

Royal Decree 10 has established state funding of Heyúva temples both domestic and foreign. Queen Eril had this to say on the matter:
”These temples are there for their communities first and foremost. They provide services that a government may not and become a place of refuge to those in need. Our hope is that through our funding, we allow temples to better serve their communities-engaging both the youth and elderly. It is time that we provide resources to those who have long served their communities so they may be able to do more.”

This also comes as preparations for March 16th begins to ramp up. The solar eclipse, which coincides with the annual Royal Gala, is an immensely spiritual time for those who follow Heyúva. We were able to get into contact with Grand Priestess Sesián on temple preparations for the event:
”Organizing one of the biggest celebrations in our religion is no easy feat. I am currently in deep correspondence with the High Priests of all temples across the Isles to ensure that they’re ready for the festivities. The one’s within Xrevaro especially as we expect many international visitors. The temples will be providing discounted meals and lodging for those traveling to ensure all can enjoy the solar eclipse in the home of the Gods.”

To make this possible, Queen Yuntun has been in deep talks with Alteran airlines Sterling and A.O.A.C. (Alteran Overseas Airways Corporation) to ensure that those of Xrevaran descent and/or Heyúva affiliations can enjoy a discounted travel fee to Xrevaro for the festivities.

The last major happening over the weekend was the finalization of an embassy with the nation of Vucari in Mejoél. The embassy can be found in at 2120 North Blossom Avenue in Mejoél’s Government District. The unique situation of Vucari has turned the funding of Heyúva temples in the area into foreign aid for the government to use as it sees fit. This is an incredible feat, thawing Xrevaran-Vucarian relations since they harbored revolutionary leaders who played a roll in Xrevaro’s communist uprising in the late-‘80s.

Vancouvian Government Pulls Out of Westilla "E-Train" Project Amidst Growing Discontent on Both Islands

The Vancouvian Congress issued a formal notice today that the long-proposed elevated train project in Westilla would be postponed indefinitely until "peaceful and safe working conditions" could be restored to the city. The project, which has been planned since late 2015, was to construct a lengthy series of tracks in and around Illa Isle's largest city, giving Westilla a long-awaited mass transport network and modernizing the city's growing sprawl. It was also projected to create thousands of local jobs for Westillans, who have an unemployment rate 5% higher than mainland Vancouvians.

Northern Azure, also known as Vancouvian National Rail, issued a short statement that they were "disappointed" that their project had been postponed, stating that "Northern Azure was looking forward to the construction of a municipal rail-line in the Vancouvian heartland." Critics, and this news organization, note that Northern Azure is majority owned by the Vancouvian Government.

Several spectators have claimed that this cancellation, whether temporary or permanent, is a direct response to Illa sending ambassadors to the Thuzbekistanian socialist conference and the Luso-Hispanic Association, as well as continued cyber attacks against government websites.

It remains to be seen what response, if any, Illa Islanders will give in the coming days, or whether a peaceful resolution is possible amidst growing animosity between Vancouvia and its latest annex.

NRMA set to commence investigation into the entire 2016 National Racing Championship
The National Racing and Motorsport Association, the governing body of all vehicle racing in the country, has announced it will be mounting an investigation into the entirety of the 2016 NRC season, after it was contacted by Sands-Orwell racing team that Richards-ABA, another racing team, used documents from Sands-Orwell that were leaked by a mole in the team.
We are set to launch a full investigation into this matter. If Richards-ABA used any of these documents to help win the 2016 Drivers and Constructors championship, they will be most likely stripped of those titles. This is a very serious matter, and any news will be released soon.
Expect updates on this developing matter.

Intense rainfall causes flooding in metropolitan Nova Ceuta
Weeks of extreme weather has caused floods in major regions of metropolitan Cabo Azul, a populous city located in the eastern coast of Nova Ceuta

Image

The coastal, southern regions of Cabo Azul, and the Western and Northern zones entered the state of emergency due to flash floods, on the afternoon of Wednesday, 7.

According to the Center for Emergency Management, the alert was triggered at 3:15 PM.

The afternoon of Wednesday began with a mild sunlight between clouds in the city and with a record of rainfall in the southern zone. According to the measurement by the automatic meteorological stations of the CGE at 13:50, temperatures oscillated around 27 ° C and the records of moisture content exceed 53%.

"Passing rainfall of higher intensity can occur with electric shocks and a few gusts of wind, which increases the potential for flooding and falling trees. During the night the winds blow south and southeast, leaving the sky overcast with conditions for drizzles especially in the stretches of mountains ", reinforced the CGE.

The next few days follow with sunshine between clouds and temperatures in gradual elevation. The rains occur weakly and isolated in the late afternoon.

On Thursday, 7, the humid winds that blow from the ocean still cause a lot of cloudiness, but the sun appears in clouds and favors the elevation of temperatures throughout the day. The minimum fluctuates around 19 ° C, while the maximum can reach 28 ° C. At the end of the afternoon there can be rapid and very isolated rains.

Elections looming in San Montagna

march 7th 2018
Sabazio

When General Silvio handed over Benito Franco to Covonantian troops, a chapter in the story of San Montagna closed, and now, after months of rebuilding the nation, a new chapter opens, as San Montagna prepares to elect its next Prime minister. The Important decision made by the San Montagnan people will decide which direction San Montagna, just recently liberated from fascism, goes. Their choice will be represented by one of several San Montagnan parties should they reach a majority. These Parties are as follow, the Liberal party with candidate Giorgio Cavallo, the Conservative party, with Emmanuele Prima, the Nuovo CentraDestra (New Center-right Party) with Vittorio Giunta, Julia Vincenza, with the San Montagnan Democracy party and Emilio battisto with the center-right party.

Experts are divided in their predictions on the winner, The majority believe in either a Liberal or Conservative party win in the upcoming election. Only one of these parties had been a major player in the 2015 elections, when the Center-right party, the winning party, gained 45% of the vote, followed by 39% for the Liberals, while the Conservative and Democracy parties tagged behind with 8% and 6% respectively. The Center-right party went on to form a coalition with the Conservative party which dissolved in late 2017 when Benito seized control of the nation in a coup d'etat. Many experts believe these recent events will tip the elections in favor of the Liberals, as the Conservative party is campaigning on the conservation of San Montagna, promising not to change the nation or its cultural or religious identity, only to move forward and continue making San Montagna better by rebuilding the economy and other such deeds. While popular with many San montagnans, This has brought criticism towards Emmanuele Prima and his party as many believe that they are attempting to deny that the fascist coup was a popular uprising, and that they are attempting to preserve fascist ideals in the country, as many have said, including Liberal Candidate Giorgio cavallo, who spent months in a political prison during the Franco regime, his party is promising to promote Democratic values to the youth of the country, as well as finding the roots of fascist sympathies in the country, and destroying them, which has brought criticism as many say it is an attack on free speech. The Liberals also promise to become more active in the region, reaching agreements on many things including trade and allying itself to other countries, which they promise would end San Montagna's Semi isolationism.

This is all to be decided when San Montagnans head to the polls next week. For more developments check SMNN.com

NRMA investigation continues...
The National Racing and Motor Association has said today, that Richards-ABA was found in possession of over 150 documents, plans and blueprints of the 2015, 2016 and 2017 cars of the racing team Sands-Orwell as well as 25 documents from the Ajax Racing team.
The NRMA has also said that Suzuma Sport was found in possession of over 50 documents from Ajax team also.

'We have found Richards-ABA and Suzuma Sport racing teams to be in unauthorized possession of a total of more than 200 documents from the Sands-Orwell and Ajax racing teams. These documents contain blueprints, plans, confidential information among more. There will be a deeper investigation into how these documents were obtained. We can also confirm that among the documents found in possession of Suzuma Sport, we uncovered emails that Suzuma Sport planned the crash of Enrique Hernandez (Suzuma), as a deliberate act, which handed Hernandez's teammate Richard Ricarrdo the race win. There will be more on this soon as the NRMA deliberates.'

The NRMA has confirmed that Suzuma will receive a fine of £2.5 million for planning the crash of Enrique Hernandez, and Richards-ABA have been fined £7.28 million for possession of confidential documents. The fine will double, possibly triple if information from the documents were used to Richards-ABA's advantage in the 2015, 2016, or 2017 seasons.

A boat swarmed with refugees from Athara Magarat being picked up by Veronite Navy officials
Verona Beach Welcomes Magarati Boat People
Government Extends Offer of Rebuilding to Forlorn Ally

Verona Beach Athara Magarat is not the same as it used to be. Internal political strife, economic devastation, and infrastructure damage plague the country as a result of the invasion by San Montagna and several other contributing factors that have led to the nation deteriorating rapidly. The situation has become so intolerable, in fact, that many citizens have felt that placing their fortunes in nothing better than an overcrowded, leaky dinghy is better than the state of their homeland. The Magarati Boat People travel far and wide to find freedom, with many landing on hostile shores and others disappearing into the waves, never to be seen again. This, without a doubt, is a crisis. As the Chief Minister addressed in a recent press conference, "it is every able nation's duty to quell this tragedy, and thus, Verona Beach shall take up its duty as an able nation to do as it has before and take in these long-suffering boat people."

To this end, the 1st Fleet of the Veronite Navy, which was already operating near Athara Magarat to help restore the nation's maritime security, has been given full authorization to pick up any and all refugee boats and safely bring them to displacement camps within Verona Beach. Such camps include the former East Bay Detention Centre, which like many foreclosed Red Tarmac-era penal institutions, has been restored into a hospitable refugee holding location that will work to provide temporary housing and job training for refugee families until they can buy a house and make their way in the world. Veronite government statistics worringly predict, however, that the government is unable to continue sheltering refugees. As such, diplomatic channels has been opened and Verona Beach is asking for other nations to begin sheltering the Boat People as well and to take their fair share of the burden.

However, the government isn't just addressing the problem's symptoms. They're also going after the cause. The Veronite government, through the Ministry of External Affairs, has offered to aid rebuilding and political stabilization in the country's erstwhile ally while they rebuild to create more favorable conditions for those who may otherwise be forced to risk their lives at sea to find a better life.

President on the riots: “We are a civilised nation!”

KABAR SAHARI - 09/03/2018, 21:01

Burnt Police’s motorcycles in front of the riot mobs (9/3)

BHINNEKA, Kabar Sahari - The effect of the Keverai leaks still linger over Samuderans even though the leaks were released over two months ago. It marked the lowest point of Samuderan politics in almost three decades - since the fall of socialist Samudera in 1992.

A chain of protests demanding the government to reveal the truth soon popped up in every major city in Samudera, especially in its capital, Bhinneka. One of the biggest demonstrations were held early this morning by HMSS (All-Samudera College Student Association), in which they claimed was attended by 3,000 people.

They marched through the Independence Boulevard while chanting “Down with the lies!”, referring to the government reluctance to investigate the truth about Keverai leaks.

The demonstration was peaceful up until they arrived in front of the Supreme Court building, where a group of provocateurs threw stones at the Police who heavily guarded the demonstration.

Police stated that the crowds immediately descended into a havoc, in which the Police forces intervened to prevent riots to spread.

Eyewitnesses said that the ensuing havoc is ‘frightening’ and ‘ferocious’. With the Police forces heavily outnumbered, the riots become uncontrollable.

Ten police officers were reportedly injured during the riots, with further three police cars and five police motorcycles being burnt.

Police finally managed to subdue the mobs after reinforcement came from the other districts of Bhinneka and the state of Kraton. By 4 pm. Police declared that the situation was under control.

Thirteen suspected provocateurs were caught, one of them being the Vice-President of HMSS. They have been detained and will be interrogated by the Police.

Whilst still in Enerah to supervise the development of national electric bus, President Justuva mentioned the riots in a press conference,

I’m personally disturbed by the riots in Bhinneka earlier this afternoon. We respect your right to express your opinion, but you have no rights to act like what you just did. Violence. Threats. Neither is acceptable. We are a civilised nation, not a bunch of violent people who abide the law of the jungle. Look at Orsandia and their violent protests. Look at what had fallen upon them. This is unacceptable.

HMSS, however, have a different version of the story of how the havoc turned out.

President of HMSS, Sujono, explained in his Gotube video that it was the Police who provoked first, by throwing tear gas canisters and firing rubber bullet into the unknowing crowds. Although he didn’t justify the riots that ensued, he said that the blame lies on the Police who wanted to ‘suppress freedom of speech’, and that the Police are complicit with the President to cover the truth.

Sujono also said that the riots won’t stop their effort to force the government to reveal the truth of the leaks, even though the Police had warned HMSS of their ‘harmful effort’.

The President’s speech has also gathered some attention due to the inclusion of Orsandia’s situation right now, which political observers have dubbed as ‘a ticking bomb’. Many have criticised the bad comparison, saying that it could endanger the relations with Orsandia.

Breaking News-The Union of Covonant Airforce Reports military Activities in Balnik

Image
Captured Imagery of Balnik Armed Forces attempt at Ballistic Missile Testing

The Union of Covonant Airforce through the Covonant Air Defense Institute is reporting that following a operation a short while ago that saw Covonantian fighter jets scout the skies of Balnik, the Institute has reasonable evidence to suggest grave military activities taking place in the country. The reports expressed that the Balnik Armed Forces are undertaking developmental projects which involves the construction of a submarine base in the northern portion of the country, as well as a large amount of advanced aircraft seen laying on military runways. The Institute however expressed that the most detrimental occurrence seen is the totalitarian fascist state intent on developing ballistic missile.

The Covonant Air Defense Institute on orders from the Ministry of Defense carried out military operations in the northern section of the east, primarily the Eterna Sea area. This involved the Union of Covonant Airforce carrying out surveillance routines over the skies of Balnik. Photograph imagery produced suggest that major military endeavours have been undertaken by the fascist state to include the building of major military base inclusive of a submarine base in the north of the country, the Airforce have also noted a large number of advanced aircraft for a country with a outdated airforce. The UC Airforce however notes that images produced suggest the Balnik state is undertaking ballistic missile test, while military equipments are seen as being transported to the south of the country.

Minister of Defense Crixus Ignacio has raised concerns following the reports. He notes that Balnik's attempt at militarisation is a threat to Covonant's interest in the east as well as a threat to the stability of the region.

The Union of Covonant Government has been concerned for sometime now on the activities of Balnik, a fascist totalitarian regime that has somehow remained virtually cut off from regional events and affairs to a large extent. But we were still concerned that the country could be concocting plans that may be detrimental to Covonant's military doctrine in the east

Minister Ignacio admitted that his Ministry had granted the green light to have the airforce carry out surveillance procedures in the fascist state, noting that the stakes were high.

We became very concerned from satellite imagery that suggested military activities were taking place in the country that could have far-reaching impacts on the peace in the region. We knew that this operation could have went both ways in the event that Covonantian aircraft was shot down. Our two fighter jets carried out the operation which lasted roughly 12 minutes before the Balnik airforce personnel ordered us out in an aggressive stance. We are pleased that no shots were fired but we are wholly concerned.

The Union of Covonant Government has raised their level of interest in Balnik to special interest case, while the Covonant Air Defense Institute has ordered the Covonantian owned Continental Airbase in West Suomi where the operations were launched to be on-guard in the event Balnik becomes aggressive to Covonantian presence in the east, particularly Kavju, Eterna Sea, and Gael. The Defense Minister is calling on the Balnik regime to desist from carrying out ballistic missile test as their activities serves as a deterrence for peace in the already volatile east.

Judiciary Concerned over Prime Minister's Gais Attempt to Undermine the Courts

Image
Chief Justice Gaia Hemt

The Judiciary is today calling the Prime Minister of Covonant Crassus Gais out for what they describe as a blatant attempt to coerce and influence the conducts of the courts. This allegation comes on the heels of the Covonantian Government receiving extradition request from the Miklanian government to have Mr. Johnathan Rowe, a Miklanian national convicted of attempting to distribute cocaine in Covonant who was handed down the death penalty. The Prime Minister had advised the President through letter to have the President insist on the Chief Justice Gaia Hemt to have the courts accept the extradition request to stave off a diplomatic fallout with the South Mesder State. Chief Justice Hemt expressed the move was not only unprecedented but serves to undermine the democracy of Covonant.

We the Judiciary branch of government is wholly concerned with the actions of the Prime Minister, never in the 278 years of Covonantian independence had the executive once tried to impede on the workings of the judiciary and such occurrence is troubling. Covonant for the past two and a half century has operated on a principle of strict adherence to the separation of power and the balance of power which has made our country among the most stable in the region. The Prime Minister's attempt to undermine the operations of the court through the President of Covonant is a grave occurrence and we the courts will not tolerate such instance.

She notes that the judiciary has ruled out the President's appeal and notes that it is unconstitutional and may strengthen the courts approach to the executive and legislature to ensure that the unique relationship between the three branches of government are upheld.

We have unanimously rejected the President's appeal and have advised both the President and the Prime Minister that such acts are not only unprecedented but also unconstitutional. We will be very cognizant from henceforth how we interact with the different branches of government to ensure that the unique relationship that is enshrined in the Covonantian Charter of Rights is not only observed and respected but strengthened.

She is publicly advising Prime Minister Gais to act within his role and such occurrence is detrimental to the democratic principles on which the Union is guided by. She notes a judiciary review will be established to see if legal grounds can be expressed in this instance towards the executive branch of government.

Miklanian Extradition Request"Likely to Fail"-Chief Justice Hemt

Image
Justice Ministry Headquarters, Coventry, Covonant

The Chief Justice Gaia Hemt is announcing that the extradition request made by the Miklanian government is likely to fail as the courts end the negotiation period with the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She notes that while the negotiations and talks were productive, the law stands in the favour of the courts denying the granting of the extradition of the Miklanian Mr. Johnathan Rowe.

I believe that tomorrow the Covonantian Correctional Services should be able to carry out the penalty on Mr. Rowe for failing to observe and appreciate Covonantian laws. I am however pleased with the constructive discussions held between our courts and both the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but the courts have come to a final agreement that to accept the extradition request would be an affront to Covonantian Federal and Local laws. The request is most likely to fail and the Miklanian Embassy shall be notified of this through the Foreign Ministry to express it to the Miklanian government. The Covonantian Judiciary does not respond directly to a foreign government but through the relevant Covonantian authorities and in this case the Foreign Ministry.

Chief Justice Hemt express that Covonantian laws are concise and final and she is disappointed in the way in which the government has tried to undermine the laws of the country.

I understand from a personal level that a country would wish to maintain good relations with a foreign government particularly one that has regional presence similar to Covonant, but we cannot fall to the will and might of a foreign country. We have to set an example for other foreigners that Covonantian laws apply to them too once they are in our country. I am not stating that Covonantian laws don't provide for extradition for foreign nationals to their home government but it is tiered and concerning primarily petty offence. Distribution of illegal drugs in Covonant is a penalty that the Covonantian courts alone deals with whether it involves foreign or local nationals. And we demand that our laws are not only appreciated but respected by foreigners and their governments as well.

Chancellery Inaguration 2 Weeks Away

March 9, 2018
Renston, Lestar

Image

March 23, 2018 is a date that will go down in Yorrkon history books. Voters year this have elected a total of 320 members into the Chamber of Representatives, along with 80 members into the Chamber of Senators; as the 10th Parliament has been fully dissolved from the past 12 years with 2018 marking the beginning of the 11th Parliament of Yorrkon. Parliament voting has resulted in relentless street clashes with local police in province capitals, due to the unprecedented outcome of Unionist Party majority. The Unionist Party, over the course of 5 months, has gained popularity, allowing to claim a Chancellery ticket for election. Large televised rallies have further spread the party's influence and public support throughout the nation, in which has come clear from the voting polls. The Unionist Party has now claimed majority seats over the Chamber of Representatives, and the Chamber of Senators. A major factor for this extraordinary victory is the merge of the Conservative Party to become an extended branch of the Unionists.

Within the Chamber of Representatives, the Unionist Party has claimed 256 out of 320 seats. Holding an 80% majority. The Chamber of Senators has experienced similar results, with the Unionist Party claiming 56 out of 80 seats for a 70% holding. This election has seen the least amount of seats held by the Progressive Party and Independents. Progressives have only managed to obtain 31 seats in the Representatives, while Independents seized 33. Meanwhile in the Chamber of Senators, the Progressives claimed a mere 9 seats, while Independents seized 15.

In what has become a daily occurrence in the Yorrkon Capital of Renston, protesters consisted of left-wing and Progressive Party liberals have clashed with police in acts of violent demonstration. The Unionist Party leader and Chancellery candidate, Felton Vince, has encouraged Unionist supporters to not "reside to the violent demonstration methods" of the protesters. Media sources have stated the violent protests have rifted the reputation of the Progressive Party, costing them the Parliament, and furthering the support for Unionists. As the party majority has been obtained by the Unionists, Felton Vince will surmount over Independent Candidate Charles Ramos, and Progressive Candidate Marvin Morris as Chancellor of Yorrkon. Vince has stated it will be "a long awaited need of nationalism", and to "further the principle ideals of Yorrkon in the Eterna", in which some sources claim was Vince's way of cooperating with Balnik to the north of Yorrkon. A nation that has seen itself cut off in international affairs.

Federal Workers Council Announces Overhaul
3-10-18

Today, the chairman of the Federal Workers Council, Azul Barshlan, announced that the Federal Workers Council's automated management system was receiving an overhaul to "bring it inline with the current attitude and ideologies present in the Socialist Parties current membership." The program comes after there were minor complaints about the "efficiency and accuracy of the current programs" a source close to the chairman said after the press conference.

The program, which was created in 2007 by a foreign company, is now going to be domestically created for domestic needs.

"Though the current program meets our requirements," Chairman Barshlan said during the conference, "our people not only deserve a better system, but are demanding it. By all rights, they should have it. This program will be produced in Thuzbekistan for Thuzbeks."

Common complaints regarding the system were that it was inefficient by most standards in 2018, was rife with errors, and sometimes made mistakes. According to the Chairman, the blueprint in mind would "fix these problems rather easily."

The job is reportedly going to the Bashlon Software Collective, or BSC. As one of the main centers of information technology in Thuzbekistan, BSC is up to the task, according to its chairman.

"We are proud to take this task for the Thuzbek Workers. A more efficient plan is needed and the specifications of the parties and government are all easily achievable with today's technology," the Chairman of BCS said. "We are most appreciative that the leaders of our nation do not just accept contentment, but continue to work towards a better future. We will enact all the plans of the government and ensure that our economy serves Thuzbekistan well."

Derya Nadire, the chairman of the Vanguard Party, said the "blueprint was the center of intense negotiations of party leaders" and that "the talks were some of the most productive for internal reforms as we have ever had."

The Chairman of the Vanguard declined to comment on the Foreign Minister of Vucari's comments in a recent news interview in which he said that the talks were "unproductive".

Some sources from within the parties also hinted at the possiblity of further automation in Thuzbekistan's factories, which the Chairman of the Thuzlan Workers Council said would "enable more of our workers to tend to areas we desperately need them- be that in the emerging service sector, on a Turvinian farm, or even in a mine. Freeing up more manpower only enables Thuzbekistan to do what it needs."

Some groups, especially the Islamic Conservative Party, spoke out against it saying that it would remove a crucial human element. However, there has been no comment to their concerns.

Orsandian Riots Grow in Size, Violence as Massacre Infuriates Protestors

Throughout the week, fires have burned throughout Orsandia as protests became riots after the brutal reprisal of the Fantung Bay Bridge Massacre. Fire departments have been overwhelmed with calls and police cannot maintain order in some parts of the cities.

After video emerged of an unprovoked police massacre at Fantung Bay Bridge, Thuzbek officials stood in solidarity with the workers and their plight. Today, the Prime Minister reaffirmed that solidarity in a brief statement:

"The refusal of the Orsandian government to act in a responsible manner will only sink the country into more violence. Thuzbekistan has and always will condemn the actions and inaction of the Orsandian government."

In a later press conference, the Foreign Affairs Minister joked that the Orsandian Prime Minister was "weak and indecisive," stating that "If anyone else were Prime Minister, the situation would have been solved in a weekend." He later apologized for his statement, calling it a "hot mike" moment.

Regardless, the riots have continued throughout the week and many are feared to have been killed or wounded.

This has been Thuzbek State News.

Tanah Merah presence at Thuzbek conference criticised

IRP supporters protest the rise of Communism across the isles

Fears of a new cold war have been circulating across the Isles, as the communist world steps up its activities despite the collapse of the EUSR. The People's Republic of Thuzbekistan called for a socialist conference, which was attended by the usual suspects such as Vucari and where global revolution was spoken of. However, there was a frightening twist as representatives of the Tanah Merah Parti were photographed at the event led by the firebrand Fatima Sisano. She turned up the event in a revealing and unislamic dress, showing disregard for the nation that she represented, but the most worrying sign was the hat that she wore, a maoist cap like those worn by the Shahirista rebels. The Shahiristas were a violent communist terror syndicate who waged war against the Negarakitan Republic by bombing banks and killing innocents. That Mrs Sisano would wear such an outfit and praise these bandits has raised many fears among many Negarakitans that this could herald a rise in terrorist attacks, a fear heralded by the recent terrorist protests in Orsandia which have resulted in riots and deaths.

Abdulwahab Shoriye, a member of the Islamic Revival Party, was interviewed by Koran Tempo about his thoughts on the incident. He said that "this incident merely goes to show that the snake of communism must be completely trampled beneath our shoes and thrown out like the jewish plot that it is. They bombed our mosques, they are in servitude to the Kufr and we shall not stand them. Believe me, beheading communists is easier than talking with them! They bombed my parents in Majsid Akbar, now we should stand firm against them worldwide. We should show them that their perversion should not exist.

Renai flood pumps running again
10 March 2018

Image

Renai finally got its flood control system up and running again, after the city engineering office announced Saturday that the pumps were again operation. Last week's heavy rains caused the river Ortina to burst its banks, flooding the capital city and nearby areas. Hundreds of residents were forced to evacuate, while certain parts of the city metro were completely shut. Schools, hospitals, business were filled with brown water, as rodents from the city's canals scurried to higher ground.

Michelle Walker, a small grocery owner, complained “the pumps were not working properly.”

Residents have started to complain the massive amount of money city officials spent to prevent flooding went down the drain. The pumps are part of the city’s $400 million project to combat flooding and rising seas.

Susie Carpenter from the Engineering office said, “This event was significantly higher in intensity than our system is designed to handle. The system was overwhelmed."

Overwhelmed and without power.

"The power went off during the storm, and some of the new pumps stopped working.” she added.

Since thursday, the city engineering team raced to install temporary generators to augment the submerged ones in the pump stations. Some pumps have broken down completely, unable to cope with the volume of water that the Ortina received during the onslaught of last week's heavy rains. While the water level rose, some stations were waterlogged causing the generators to stop working. They have now been replaced and have been operational since thursday afternoon.

The Merhionian Armed Forces have been helping local responders and volunteers with rescue and relief operations. Thuzbekistan earlier deployed units from its Eastern Fleet along with some relief goods.

City officials have confirmed that the water in the river has stopped climbing, although they said that it can take days, if not weeks for waters to completely recede to normal levels.

Balnik's activities concerning - Beckett
10 March 2018

Image

Minister of the Armed Forces Julie Beckett expressed concern over Balnik's reported militarization. The Covonant Air Defense Institute on Friday first broke news of the Balnik Armed Forces attempt at Ballistic Missile Testing. Defense officials have confirmed the testing, with a growing number of members in the National Assembly split on how the country should deal with the situation.

Merhion already has a number of defensive options to deal with a missile fired out of Balnik, experts say. The country has naval destroyers fitted with missile defense systems which can be positioned to shoot down projectiles, but the system is far from perfect.

Beckett has issued a veiled warning that if the security of the Merhionian people or Merhionian territory is threatened, then the government will respond.

Peril Over Balnik

March 11th, 2018

ImageBalniki War planes preparing an intercept

Concern in Balnik was raised yesterday as several military aircraft were launched from Ramsvelt AFB in an emergency sortie to intercept an unknown target that was navigating Balniki airways without proper clearance or indentification. Hours later in a statement released by Colonel Ilya Vastenkić

"The unknown aircraft that our pilots intercepted over southern Balnik were identified as JAC P.123 fighter jets belonging to the Union of Covonant. The confrontation between the planes lasted around 15 minutes where Covonant fighters broke off and were escorted out of Balniki airspace. We have reason to believe that these fighters were conducting some sort of surveillance and were surveying classified Balniki operations. We are glad to report that a diplomatic incident did not occur and no weapons were fired."

After the speaking of Ilya Vastenkić ended Lieutenant General Valsyli Undya had the following to say about the Covonant media and their prior release regarding the situation.

"First off I am grateful that no servicemen of either side were inflicted with any sort of harm or violence. However with that out of the way I will move onto the topic at hand, the government of Covonant have painted us as aggressive warmongers as they have come to the conclusion from their recent surveillance for whatever reason. I will say that they are not only liars perpetuating false claims but they are also hypocrites, they have an abhorrent amount of military sway over the Western Isles and not only that but have a large military bloc and economic hand by their side. They only wish to target Balnik to add it to their list of subdued nations. As a result of this we will be issuing a complete foreign media blackout until further notice. Covonant aircraft that will be approaching Balniki airspace beware because as of today, any unidentified aircraft of Covonant origin that breach within 50 kilometers of Balniki airspace are subject to aggressive and deadly force. That is all."

Covonantian Correctional Services, Confirms Death of Miklanian Convict
Coventry, Covonant

Image
Covonantian Correctional Services Head Office

The Covonantian Correctional Services (CCS) has confirmed the the Miklanian Johnathan Rowe convicted of attempting to distribute cocaine into Covonant was executed by the state. The confirmation came about after rumours were being circulated around Covonant that the Miklanian was extradited to Miklania. Head of the CCS Apascia Sennia made the confirmation yesterday on CBC Radio 5 Live news programme, Weekend Prime.

The Correctional Services can confirm that execution orders made by the state was handed down to Mr. Johnathan Rowe age 24, Miklanian national. Execution was by lethal injection. And time of execution was 2:45 pm on Saturday March 10. There was no complication in carrying out the execution order.

The Justice Ministry also released a statement following the execution of Mr. Rowe. According to the Justice Ministry, Covonant was in the right in the exercising of the country's laws. The Justice Ministry has declined to comment on the Miklanian/ Covonantian relationship, stating the Foreign Ministry has that responsibility. The Foreign Ministry however has not issued a statement on the issue. Read more...

Cooperative Union: West Suomi Membership Revoked, Eurania Barred from CU Entrance
Cooperative Zone, Senoica, Covonant

Cooperative Union Commission

The Cooperative Union in a historic move, voted on Friday to have the membership of West Suomi withdrawn from the Political-Economic Union. In a vote that saw the two motion failure to meet a positive two thirds vote on both the Acceptance of Eurania into the CU and the Renewal of West Suomi's membership, the Cooperative Union lost a member state as well as lost the chance to increase the members of the CU. The CU vote came amidst both Eurania and West Suomi forming a political union which CU members saw as a threat to the stability of the organisation. CU Secretary General Daniel Entemont called the move not only historic but necessary.

The CU was very concerned with the moves that West Suomi was taking with Eurania, and the timing of Eurania's wanting to join the CU was unfortunate in advancing both countries cause. The vote in the Commission is a testament to the concerns that the CU members had particularly due to the uncertainty of what the Union between West Suomi and Eurania would entail. This is a historic vote for the CU as it is the first time the CU has really come together to decide on the fate of another members status with the bloc, but it also shows the necessity of the democratic principles which the CU has adopted and I can say that the CU once again looked out for the collective interest rather than for individual members.

Secretary General Entemont expressed that the CU is undergoing major reforms particularly in its acceptance of member states. The Commission in its report expressed that states have been wait-listed to join, some for months. Secretary General Entemont expressed that the CU is still strong and stable despite calls for reforms, and that is term in office will deliver on reform programmes and measures, in that area. Defense Ministry Issues Warning to Balnik following Aggressive Threat
Coventry, Covonant

Image
Ministry of Defense

The Ministry of Defense has issued a statement calling on the Balnik regime to retract aggressive threat made towards Covonant's armed forces. According to Balnik's Lieutenant General Valsyli Undya, any Covonantian aircraft that approaches Balniki airspace or any unidentified aircraft of Covonant origin that breach within 50 kilometers of Balniki airspace are subject to aggressive and deadly force. The Defense Ministry calls the statement provocative and could sum up as war rhetoric. The Defense Ministry is calling on the regime to lessen its militaristic stance and to concede on Covonantian demands.

The Ministry of Defense is concerned with statements coming out of Balnik, that seeks to target Covonantian military and civilian crafts. Covonant takes threats such as these very serious and would request the Balnik regime to desist from their misguided show of force. Covonant will continue its military service around the region, particularly in the Eterna Sea area to secure regional peace, and to act within Covonant's national and security interest. We call on the Balnik regime to also desist from the carrying out of ballistic missile testings which Covonant will continue to monitor to ascertain whether our demands are met. Covonant will continue our military service without hindrance regionally. We will however respect the sovereignty of Balnik and it's territorial space if we find no hindrance to regional peace, or to Covonant's interest in the Eterna Sea. We advise the Balnik regime to soften it's stance in the interest of both our states to coexist peacefully.

When asked by Defense Minister Crixus Ignacio whether Covonant plans to conduct more military activity in the Eterna Sea, he declined to answer directly on the question. He however expressed that Covonantian Armed Forces will act in the national and security interest of Covonant and will not bend to foreign threats.

Sir Giles Executed

Sir Giles, following a lengthy investigation and short trial was found guilty of treason on 1 March, and hung, drawn, and quartered the following day. His charges were the following; murder of an agent of the crown, gross negligence, gross incompetence, espionage, diplomatic sabotage, aiding malcontents, and 49 counts of murder, for the Ilsan dead in the war with the United States. He was quickly found guilty on all counts by a royal judge, though popular opinion is not entirely satisfied with decision, notably Sir Giles’ son, Sir Robert, who has elected to fulfil his father’s challenge to League Junior Ambassador Sieuward Rademaker, and to kill him, or a suitable substitute. King George II has insisted that Sir Robert desist, but the youth remains obstinate.

Constitution Formed

After weeks of deliberation, a Constitution, which has not yet been released to the public, has been drafted and sent to be reviewed by the King. This is an amazing act on the part of King George, as he will, in effect, be ceding a great deal of power to a new, national body. However, rumours and hints point to massive military reform, including the abolition of hereditary knighthood and many privileges of the nobility. Also included in the reform is a national guard, though it is unlikely the King will allow such a gathering, and standardization of equipment is also being pressed. Other significant advances include a charter of rights, including freedom of the press, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, right to a fair trial by peers, right to a lawyer, right to homosexual union, and freedom of assembly.  It is very likely that the king will reject several of these, and it appears the delegates attempted to pack a large number of so-called rights into the Charter. Administratively, the Parliament has attempted to instate its own members into the higher government offices, though the King has rejected this in favour of royal appointment only.

Questions raised over the future of the Monarchy.
Tuesday 13th March 2018 - 10:14

Following recent surveys and public questionnaires, doubts have been cast over the future of the Monarchy and Royal rule in Cymru Celtia. Kings and Queens have ruled the nation for over 1000 years but in the 21st century is this still viable ? King Merrion I is in his 43rd year of reign over Cymru Celtia and many are believing his rule could be the last. The public is set to vote in the coming months whether the Monarchy should remain or the country seeks alternative forms of government.

Image
His Highness, King Merrion I

A Republic, a Confederacy or a United States presidency style government has been mentioned on public forums over the past few weeks. However, many are opposed to removing the crown who see it as a national identity and a sense of pride among the countries 8,000,000 + population.

Max Bygraves, speaker for the Union Against Monarchs said this was a turning point in the country and a chance to 'get with the times'. "Kings and Queens ruling over nations is a bygone and ancient era. It makes no sense to keep such an ancient way of governance. This is a chance for Cymru Celtia to start afresh, bring new ideas and innovations to its people. The monarchy will always part of our history, but we need to look to the future and that begins with a new way of governing this country"

Jrm Hangma dismisses the House of Representatives of the Athara Magarati Democratic Hangate

Image
Jrm Hangma tells reporters reasons she dismissed the House of Representatives

Jrm Hangma announced to the nation on Tuesday that she had to dismiss the House of Representatives to protect the Athara Magarati state from the grave risk posed by SHOCK attacks and political instability in the democratic hangate. The House of Representatives is said to have in dismissed at around 5 pm on Tuesday by Divan Hangma, the Speaker of the Parliament, acting on Jrm Hangma's orders.

Government officials and Jrm Hangma told reporters that the 150 member House of Representatives had been dissolved for their continued refusal in working alongside the Divan-i-Magarati and Jrm Hangma's cabinet (the two political entities whose members are interlinked). The majority vote in the House of Representatives against mobilization of the Deathstalker unit against SHOCK fugitives was the last straw, government officials stated.

On February 25th, a shootout had taken place between four SHOCK suspects and the New Libang Police at Pinnachan Chilly Bar and Restaurant where an Euranian diplomat had been murdered - with evidences pointing to the four. Two men had been killed in the shootout by the police while the third man had been shot dead by the sole woman in the SHOCK team. Police reports had stated that the woman had attempted to shoot herself with her own Noronican-made NA15 Semi-Automatic Pistol but failed.

On February 28th, seven more SHOCK suspects had barged in at the Rukum Detention Facility, freed the woman whom authorities have identified only as Tara and stolen a USB drive that the New Libang Police had recovered at the crime scene in Pinnachan Chilly Bar and Restaurant before escaping out of the country.

Image
The House of Representatives has been dismissed and emptied

Jrm Hangma had requested governments and police across the Isles to keep track of the SHOCK team with the USB drive but her own country's House of Representatives had voted against the deployment of the Deathstalker unit. On March 1st, the Defense Ministry and Athara Magarati Intelligence (AMI) had pinpointed Belle Ilse en Terre as the most likely destination the fugitives have escaped to but the House of Representatives had voted down the Divan-i-Magarati's deployment of the Deathstalker unit citing interference of foreign law and territory as well as terming the motives behind the formation of Vancouvian Special Forces (VSF) trained Deathstalker unit to be extrajudicial. The House of Representatives had also argued that the monarchy of Belle Isle en Terre had not even been notified of possible deployment of the Deathstalker unit.

After two weeks of deliberation and the House of Representatives continued refusals on other matters as well, Jrm Hangma vested the Divan-i-Magarati with full authority of the nation's affairs and had Divan Hangma officially dissolve the House of Representatives. Rumors have been flying abound that the Divan-i-Magarati in return will ensure that Jrm Hangma is the head of the state and the government for lifetime. Jrm Hangma and government officials brushed aside such rumors as 'nonsense' and told that they were contacting the authorities of Belle Ilse en Terre to deploy the Deathstalker unit after the SHOCK team with Drive X.

"It remains to be seen how other countries will react to the various events happening in Athara Magarati hangate." A former member of the House of Representatives seeking anonymity said. "This is unconstitutional. She should have consulted the Supreme Court as well as the people through the Tribal Council of Elders before deciding such hasty moves that has now put our country's fragile democracy at more risk than ever. She is just one step away from becoming a dictator."

Ancestor Day

Hello fellow Outrians, Happy ancestor day.
For many generations we have celebrated where we came from and who we are.
We are glad to report that the day went on with no major problems.

President Weston paid homeless shelters enough money to hold a feast really setting an example for all leaders.
Weston, like everyone else, later had dinner with his family and friends.

Today is a happy day, have fun and stay safe.

Manhole explosion today, in the center of New Berlin

The problem occurred around 16.30 this Tuesday, near the theater Count of E'deaut. The images show the flames coming out of the manhole and at least two explosions. Some people who passed by were frightened by the bursts and tried to protect themselves. According to Edith, the manhole cover was thrown out with the explosion.

"I was leaving for a job for my company, when I saw that there was a lot of smoke coming out of the manhole, some workers at a nearby building soon isolated the area with an insulation tape. the manhole went by air. People were scared, "said Edith Cécile Delorme, a French immigrant.

Jacquinot Robespierre, a merchant at the Hoffmann Cultural Center, said that when he noticed the smoke in the manhole in front of the building where he works, he called the suburb. Firefighters at the headquarters also confirmed that they were fired for an incident at 154 Veit Hoenigberg Street.

Asked by Lhre Informationen, Konigz, the utility responsible for the power supply, reported that company teams have isolated the area around the underground box.

Still according to Konigz, "technicians are taking steps to perform the necessary services." The company also said that it "is evaluating all possible causes of occurrences in its underground network, without measuring efforts to ensure greater reliability of the power distribution system."

The City Hall Operations Center reported that on-site traffic is interdicted between Steinhäusser Square and Albwyn Wittgenstein Street, causing slowness and retention in the surroundings. Traffic is being diverted down the street from the theater.

Securities Regulatory Commission blacklists 5 Cryptocurrency And Crypto-Asset Websites
16 March 2018

Image

The Merhionian Securities Regulatory Commission (SRC), announced in a press release that they have added 5 cryptocurrency and crypto-asset investment websites to a blacklist on March 16.

The five offending companies continued to advertise and market their services as investment opportunities to the Merhionian public, despite new regulations. The blacklist also contains businesses that unlawfully offered investments in commodities like rare earth metals, wine, and diamonds.

The statement reminds consumers that “no advertising materials should make you overlook the fact that high returns always involve high risk.” It further advises consumers to by duly diligent before making an investment, to learn as much as one can about the company or intermediary, and to only invest in a product one understands.

This move by Merhionian regulators follows a pattern of suspicious attitudes toward cryptocurrencies from the national government. Just last year, the central bank governor issued a warning on the high risks of investing in TWITcoin, claiming it is a speculative asset, and neither a currency or a digital currency.

Visa-Free Agreement Cancelled with Samudera
Terry Jermov announced last Thursday that the previous agreement between Samudera and Torom on Visas has been terminated and now for Samuderans to visit Torom, they will need to carry a Visa. Any Samuderans already visiting in Torom do not need to show a Visa upon leaving the country, however they will need one when coming back. A period of two weeks will be given before the agreement is cancelled for any Samuderans who already have plans to visit the country and have booked a flight or ship ride.

When asked for the Grand Council's reasoning behind the decision. The elder Supervisor said, "The Grand Council has decided to terminate the agreement over the fact that Samudera has been losing stability, especially due to the Keverai Leaks few months prior. After the suspicious death of Samuderan Chief Justice Malanggeng, we in the Grand Council have been discussing on the matter of Samudera's relationship with Torom. After weeks of discussion, we have decided to cancel the Visa-Free agreement made months ago for the safety of the country."

INTERNATIONAL: Deal with Samuderans reached over refugees
Arnton, Ainslie

Following five days of negotiations between Ahnslen and Samuderan diplomats, a joint conference between the two foreign ministers has unveiled the two nations’ plans to address the evacuations of Ahnslen and Samuderan residents. The government will collaborate with Xrevaran non-governmental organisations in order to build a temporary settlement 5 kilometres northeast of the border town of Curenne. Evacuees are being asked to go to this camp and avoid the town of Currenne, since processing of refugees is occuring in the township.

It is currently of note that the Federal Government has delegated the operations and administration of aforementioned camp to the Electoral Government of Norlands. That government today stated that it is only accepting and processing Samuderan and Ahnslen nationals, as those people are the only groups which are currently assessed to be eligible for the 433 and 434 policies.

The Ahnslen Regional Stability Force, in collaboration with the Samuderan Army and the Samuderan Air Force, today announced that they would begin official evacuations from Yang Kong and Guangfeng. Additionally, they will directly evacuate (from places other than Yang Kong and Guangfeng) nationals from either nation who are considered to be in risk zones.

INTERNATIONAL: Doomsday Cult clashes with ARSF in Xrevaro
Arnton, Ainslie

The Cult that has recently been making news, the Loyal Brotherhood of the Times that are Nigh, travelled to Xrevaro to witness the totality of the solstice. This led to a strange and destructive ritual coming about, which involved members of the cult killing one another near the temple of Sesit and then proceeding to attack a local village.

They were met by peacekeepers from the Ahnslen Regional Stability Force who had been deployed to the nation following natural disasters and large bushfires which lowered the productivity of the nation and consistently threatens the native population. The fanatical cult members opened fire on the peacekeepers, who immediately moved to their defensive positions.

Patrick Carboni, the Defence Minister of Ainslie, provided more insight into the matter.

“ARSF Peacekeepers, alongside local authorities, have engaged a group of Ahnslen nationals in dense forest which was nearby a village. We can confirm that there have been no ARSF peacekeepers have been killed in the operation, and it appears that the local personnel that were injured have received adequate medical attention.”

This situation has led to an increasing polarisation of perspectives regarding Xrevaro between those who advocate for a complete withdrawal, and those who believe Ainslie has a moral duty to help Xrevaro.

Reliable sources have been stating that the government is “reevaluating their strategies” in regards to Xrevaro and will release a statement in the near future. There have also been calls for increasingly stricter laws which pertain to people leaving Ainslie who may be a harm to others or themselves.

Minister of Ahnslen Affairs, Caitlin Marsden condemned the acts stating that they are “hardly representative of Ahnslen values” and “stands committed to investigating the nature of this cult and combatting it at its start.”

Human Rights groups have been criticising Ms Marsden’s response, citing that it may restrict freedom of speech and expression.

Chancellor Gorvich; Last weekly press briefing

As it has come clear the Unionists have taken an immense victory in the Yorrkon Parliament, it has been accepted that the Unionist Party leader Felton Vince will take the oath as 11th Chancellor of Yorrkon on March 23, 2018.

This remaining weekly period is used to commence the transfer of property in the chancellor's residence, to that of the new chancellor-elect.

Current Chancellor, Henry Gorvich made a short speech on the matter at what has been his last weekly press briefing:

"As the process begins for me to relieve my duties as your chancellor, I am brought with more sensation of the hope for the future of Yorrkon than ever before. Despite the push for governmental reform, our stratocracy will continue to be efficient. Our military will continue to serve. Businesses and corporations will continue to provide quality services. And what is the most imporant factor, is that our citizens, young and old; will continue to prosper, and obtain the benefits of living in this nation. Felton Vince, our now chancellor-elect, I know will serve his duties to the best of his abilities, as I have done so myself. As a stratocracy, he has done his service for our country and his time in politics, demonstrating the desire to fulfill the principle values of Yorrkon. Regardless of what you see or hear on television, newspapers, or from your peers; one should not underestimate the leadership before it is evinced. This is certainly not the end, nor the beginning, but a new chapter of Yorrkon's history that will never stop being written. I thank the Yorrkish people for my time as your chancellor, and will now shortly be once more living among the population with you. Thank you".

On Inauguration day, Chancellor-elect Vince, will be accompanied by Chancellor Gorvich on a march through the capital's main avenue.

Felton Vince will be inaugurated at Renston Palace where he will state the Oath of Office, and have his service uniform pinned the with chancellery ribbon, badge, and shoulder straps.
Then will proceed to further march the avenue before stopping at 7th Kaldak Street, the official residence of the chancellor, and be welcomed into the home.

Chancellor-elect Vince is said to be celebrating the occasion, and is preparing himself among the staff to move into the new residence.

Howard T. Weston steps down as President of Oturia

In December of 2017 President Weston came out saying he was going to step down in 2018 and after months of campaigning Howard stepped down letting the new president take her place.
His wife Jane H. Weston became the new president and we know she will do as good a job as Howard.
We welcome you, President Jane Weston.

But don't worry, Howard hasn't left the political scene, he has become a foreign affairs and relation delegate.

From all Oturians, Good luck.
