Elections, Embassies, and Festivities
A mighty eventful weekend has just passed the Xrevaran government as the first week of campaigning ends for upcoming Parliament elections. A state meeting with a representative of Vucari and an ambitious roll of legislation from the Royal Palace have also taken place.
With all the seats in Parliament up for election, voters are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of candidates all with different ideals for the nation. The three main topics of these campaigns and debates seem to be centered around Foreign Aid, Industry, and the role of religion in the Xrevaran Government. The latter being the most divisive issue as candidates seem to be split down the middle between supporting secularism in the state and the other half supporting the tying of Xrevaran Law & Policy to the ”rules” of Heyúva. The Royal Palace will be revealing a list at the end of this week listing candidates from most to least favored and people have questioned their place to do so. The issue of Heyúva in the government finds its way into Foreign Aid as well, as the Royal Palace unfurls another set of Royal Decrees.
Royal Decree 10 has established state funding of Heyúva temples both domestic and foreign. Queen Eril had this to say on the matter:
”These temples are there for their communities first and foremost. They provide services that a government may not and become a place of refuge to those in need. Our hope is that through our funding, we allow temples to better serve their communities-engaging both the youth and elderly. It is time that we provide resources to those who have long served their communities so they may be able to do more.”
This also comes as preparations for March 16th begins to ramp up. The solar eclipse, which coincides with the annual Royal Gala, is an immensely spiritual time for those who follow Heyúva. We were able to get into contact with Grand Priestess Sesián on temple preparations for the event:
”Organizing one of the biggest celebrations in our religion is no easy feat. I am currently in deep correspondence with the High Priests of all temples across the Isles to ensure that they’re ready for the festivities. The one’s within Xrevaro especially as we expect many international visitors. The temples will be providing discounted meals and lodging for those traveling to ensure all can enjoy the solar eclipse in the home of the Gods.”
To make this possible, Queen Yuntun has been in deep talks with Alteran airlines Sterling and A.O.A.C. (Alteran Overseas Airways Corporation) to ensure that those of Xrevaran descent and/or Heyúva affiliations can enjoy a discounted travel fee to Xrevaro for the festivities.
The last major happening over the weekend was the finalization of an embassy with the nation of Vucari in Mejoél. The embassy can be found in at 2120 North Blossom Avenue in Mejoél’s Government District. The unique situation of Vucari has turned the funding of Heyúva temples in the area into foreign aid for the government to use as it sees fit. This is an incredible feat, thawing Xrevaran-Vucarian relations since they harbored revolutionary leaders who played a roll in Xrevaro’s communist uprising in the late-‘80s.
