AGRAPURA, Kabar Sahari - Chief Justice Aditya Malanggeng was found dead in his house with one gunshot wound in downtown Agrapura, a small town in eastern Kraton. Police received the report from the neighbours that gunshots were heard from the Chief Justice’s house on Tuesday evening (06/02). Agrapura Metro Police immediately dispatched officers to investigate the incident.

It was known that the Chief Justice was going to be taking a rest from Monday to Wednesday, after complaints about dizziness and exhaustion from workloads connected to the Keverai leaks - in particular, the public inquiry. The Chief Justice lived alone in his house and was unmarried. The night before his death, it was reported that he visited Agrapura Downtown Park during his run. CCTV has been secured by the police.

This came as a surprise to many, as his position was threatened after he launched the public inquiry into the Keverai Leaks, which implicated the President and his cabinet alongside members of the PSS. The Chief Justice has been remembered as a passionate and affectionate guy, known as “the most honest and kind hearted” guy by people who knew him. The Chief Justice was only appointed to his role three years ago and became known for his strong stance against corrupt behaviour. He also has handled more prominent cases such as this current Keverai leaks inquiry.

The public inquiry has been paused, first deputy Chief Justice Dewana stated today.

Many conspiracy theories soon arose on TWItter and on other social media platforms, mainly involving President Susanto and the Keverai Leaks. The conspiracy theories stated that the President ordered the assassination of the Chief Justice due to his disobedience and his move to open a public inquiry into his case, threatening the whole plan. No one could confirm or deny the theory, and it appears that many people are believing it. many believe the theory.

Chief of Police Asep Kunto said that the Police will investigate the murder case, and mark it as a high priority. The Police have guards and set police line in front of the Chief Justice’s house.

Gang of Moose Gone Loose in Rou Llion

Moose are common all across Jagellion, but are rarely seen in cities. Today moose that are usually in the forests around Rou Llion have abandoned their homes and gone straight into the capital city. The total moose that are currently in the city are estimated to be around 120. It is unknown what sparked the moose to suddenly come into the city, but city officials warned residents not to interact with the moose. Schools and government offices have been shut down for the day.

Mayor Daryo Nieckisko released a statement earlier today:
"These moose are wild and extremely dangerous. Do not feed the moose! Do not interact with them! Do not try to ride them! Do not shoot the moose unless you are defending yourself. Please do not go outside today, we are assessing the situation. No further questions."

Unionists Gaining Public Support

Written in the Yorrkon Constitution, representatives have an election every 6 years, while senators and the chancellor have a 12 year tenure. Therefore, every 12 years, a fully new parliament is formed. The 9th Chancellery Election that comes to an end in March, after the Parliament Recess from February 20th until March 20th, will be the formation of the nation's 10th Parliament. For the past 8 months, political leaders have been holding rallies for the 9th Chancellery Election. The Unionist Party, the successor of the National Yorrkon Union Party of the 1930s-40s, has experienced a drastic rise in public support. This is after current chancellor Henry Gorvich signed a bill from parliament, officially allowing the role of chaplain to be present for the religious minorities in the Yorrkon United Forces. Conservatives as well of course, expressed their views against this passed legislation. The only support shown is from various Independent individuals, and members of the predominately liberal Progressive Party.

Nonetheless, the Unionist Party's roots comes from the Fascist State of Yorrkon's, National Yorrkon Union Party (NYUP), lasting 17 years from 1934 until 1951. The party had adopted policies such as promoting family values, including promotion policies designed to reduce the number of women in the workforce, limiting the woman's role to that of a mother. The NYUP as well promoted extreme discrimination against those of non Yorrik ethnicity, and created the Euthansia program. The program was specifically designed to exterminate disabled newborns, and disabled individuals under the age of 20. The NYUP was deemed successful in doing so, with some believing has forever changed Yorrkon's demographics. In a 1951 Census Report, 98.3% of the 14 million Yorrkon population was of Yorrik ethnicity, and 98.9% of the population did not have any form of disability. These results of the new government assembly was that of satisfaction, despite knowing the execution methods to achieve such a pure state. In the 21st century, Unionist Party members have managed to acquire 48 out of 320 seats in the Chamber of Representatives, and 3 out of 80 seats in the Senate Chamber. The Unionists are as well currently involved in a political coalition with the conservatives, totaling their seats to 88 in the House (48 Unionists & 40 Conservatives), and 13 seats in the Senate (3 Unionists & 10 Conservatives).

Progressive members, and few Independents have expressed their fear of Yorrkon repeating its history of the nearly two decades of the Fascist State of Yorrkon. However, the Unionists, Conservatives, and many Independents are thriving exactly for that purpose. 31 year old Army Major, and Unionist Party leader, Felton Vince, personally believes that "a modern model of a Unitary State will greatly benefit Yorrkon on unprecedented levels". Also stating "Chancellor Daltan (fifth chancellor of Yorrkon from 1934-1950) at the time had very prominent views for those particular decades, however, in 2018, many of those policies are simply irrational". Unionist Party members in this campaign have been promoting ideals of reincorporating the euthanasia program of the disabled, banning religious clubs to be held at public schools, increase in militarized police, and spites against liberals. Policies that Daltan had implemented, but Vince states were "irrational" was the discrimination of women and non Yorriks in the workforce. Vince on this matter has stated "The thing for each race to do is be proud of itself. And when the Yorrkish and good people of this country finally realize that they can do that without hurting or being obnoxious to anybody else, they will finally become more successful to survive and to keep this great country going. Women and non Yorrkish ethnics certainly have a place in this society to benefit our economy, and shall not be shunned from being able to further the development of this fine nation, if they are perfectly healthy and able. That of course would be a waste of our resources, and trash our cities if we simply allow them to mope our streets". Predictions of this election are not expecting the Unionists to win the chancellery, however, with many independents leaning their support for Unionist policy, parliament is expected to see Unionists hold majority of house seats; especially with the coalition with conservatives. The Unionists will, what many hope for, is to return the traditional values of the Yorrkish people to the nation, and squash religious and degenerate influences.

Government To Implement New Social Security System By 2019

KAHAR: Labour Secretary Ms. Zhang Xue Qing announced the implementation of a new social security system, the Pensions & Contributions Fund (PCF), that will happen at the start of 2019. This comes after the Legislative Council passed the final draft amendment of the Labour Select Committee's Social Security Act.

The new Pensions & Contributions Fund would be directly administered by the PCF Board, an agency under the purview of the Labour Bureau of Definus. Under the PCF scheme, employees would be required to contribute 20% of their income to PCF while employers must provide 15% of their employees' income to their PCF. Additionally, employers that provide contributions up to 20% of their employees' income will be exempt from corporate tax. Definese may draw on funds from their PCF account to pay for medical insurance and housing loans, and the PCF Board on behalf of the government will top-up any account that falls short of the annual contributions amount of DFB 25,000 (NSD 5,000).

While the government has branded the PCF with attractive interest rates matching inflation, most critics are wary of a single clause that shuts out most of their life savings – that the funds in the PCF account may not be withdrawn upon reaching the retirement age of 67. Instead, the PCF Board will split the remaining sum in the PCF account over the next 33 years and provide handouts on a yearly basis. Should the yearly handout fall below DFB 25,000, then the PCF Board will provide another 10% of the handout. If a Definese is unable to receive part or all of the 33 years of handouts, then the PCF Board will absorb 50% of the funds in the PCF account while the other 50% would be given in full to the next-of-kin.

Many Definese have expressed their discontent over the new PCF system, with opposition hardliners branding the PCF as "highway robbery". Ms. Zhang rebutted that the PCF was necessary in ensuring that future generations of Definese are well-provided for upon retirement. In a press conference, Ms. Zhang proclaimed the government's outlook on the future of the economy, "The Republic of Definus is not well-equipped to provide pensions for every single Definese. Our tax system needs to be lucrative to allow for businesses to grow. Only with the PCF can the government guarantee that upon retirement the Definese people will have the means to live out their final years."

Critics have long pointed out that due to the extremely low tax rates that Definus have established over the years in order to attract foreign investments, the government would need a new scheme to finance its long-term needs.

Protests Rage on as Ahnslen Evacuations Increase Tensions

---

Amid growing protests across Orsandia revolving around the corruption of cabinet members in the past prime minister's government, the Ahnslen consulate in Yang Kong was evacuated voluntarily due to safety concerns from protests which grew increasingly violent, and had an detachment Orsandian Royal Marines on site at the consulate to ensure a safe evacuation of Ahnslen perssonel.

"It is a shame that it had to come to this." noted distinguished political science professor Lenoid Pertrenko at the University of Orsandia, Lihai.

"This phenomena, of such widespread protests and disarray was not forecasted to be such a pivotal factor to the nations health. This is especially prominent considering that communist ideology, and its societal influence, has been long thought to have been dead since the Il-Chang dictatorship fell here."

The scene outside of the Ahnslen embassy in Yang Kong was one of extreme tension. Protestors hurled bottles and rocks at the defending security forces, who responded by firing tear gas into the crowd. Protestors scattered in all directions, with various suffering injuries in the commotion. Guangfeng Police and the Internal Service arrested various members with felony assault, vandalism, and disturbing the peace charges.

"They run scared. They fear us. Orsandian capitalism and corruption are in its late stage !" screamed a protestor with the #OccupyOrsandia movement, who proceeded to pelt a security officer with a rock, knocking the officer over. The protestor was hit with a rubber bullet and apprehended shortly after.

The Executive Quarters released a statement, noting that the Ahnslen embassy was evacuated and that it was "closely monitoring" the deteriorating situation across Orsandia."

Prime Minster Williamson, flanked by advisors, Defense Secretary Jack Cheng, and other officials declined to comment as they were seen hastingly walking into the Executive Quarters.

The situation is a part of ongoing clashes across Orsandia, where communist protestors and agitators clash with counter protestors and security forces in cities across the country. The arrest and indictment of two former cabinet members of the disgraced Yxngzhao government has done little to quell the protestors anger, with many demanding a full "workers revolution" to "destroy institutions of capitalistic and counter-revolutionary origin."

Three Poachers Tracking Grey Bears, Tracked And Killed By Svalbardian Military Personnel

With the frigid conditions of Trekkhi Island at this time of year, most people on the island spend their days at the local bar or have travelled back to Amarin. It's extremely rare to see another person, especially in the farthest northern part of the Island. Thus when the soldiers saw three men carrying rifles and stopped next to some snowmobiles to eat, they knew these were the poachers they had just spent the last week tracking and hunting.

We got a chance to speak to Second Lieutenant Daavid Partanen today. He is the Leader of the Northern Svalbardian Northern Islands Anti-Poching Unit, abbreviated to SNIAPU. He has led the team for three years, is trained in artic warfare tactics, marksmanship, and special weapons tactics; along with that his team has had a total of 11 successes of the past three years with no quarry evading them.

He states that these poachers had already killed two Grey Bears by the time that they got there, and although the team couldn't save those ones, he stated he was pleased that he was able to keep overall more safe by the removal of the poachers. When asked about how they tracked the poachers he stated that they had a combination of technology, dogs, and primitive tracking techniques that they learned in training. Overall the training to become part of an anti-poaching team often takes around a year or more due to the variety of skills that must be learned.

Towards the end of the interview we asked how he felt about taking another person's life, this is what he had to say on it, "I feel as though its the same as in warfare, you can't look at them as people, for me these are criminals who willingly broke our laws so that they could harm protected animals for a quick buck, and they knew the consequences. These measures are in place to try and make less people take up poaching, as the potential profit is outweighed by the possibility of death.

We would like to remind our viewers that poaching in Polar Svalbard of endangered animals such as the Grey Bear is punishable by death. Polar Svalbard has many anti-poaching teams, all of them specialized for different types of terrain.

West Suomi-Eurania unification referendum passes by slight majority!

The results for the Suomian-Eurasian unification referendum have been recorded and release to the public. With a turnout of 72.1%, 50.5% said yes and 49.5% said no, meaning that the bill just slightly passed. The president of West Suomi, Jari Laaksonen (also known as Jeyzor) made the following announcement on the referendum today:

Hello everyone, I am here today to speak on the Suomian-Euranian unification, which has been officially signed and a new sovereign nation created, United Eurania. I am very happy about this, as it will mean that many Euranians and Suomians can unite, both our nations’ economies can improve and cooperation between our two nations’ will improve dramatically. Let me clarify this for some skeptics who weren’t too sure about the idea: both our nations will still be intact, just now a new nation has been formed and will enter into the Isles, reperesenting Suomi and
Eurania. So both the nations will still be able to keep their own liberties and values, so West Suomi will not turn into an “authoritarian dictatorship”. Thank you all, and to many successful years of United Eurania!

Following the resignation of Lauren Kingsmill yesterday, presumably as a result of that day’s meeting with party leaders, Mikayla Atherton has been named the new ambassador of Ainslie to the Cooperative Union. Ainslie has been a vocal member of the Cooperative Union since joining, but of late it has been no secret that the government has been trying to take a calmer, more measured approach to the organisation.

Following Ms Kingsmill’s comments regarding the Suomian-Euranian unification, she was publicly reprimanded by foreign affairs officials and Ahnslen political parties. Andrew Whitford, Ahnslen ambassador to TWI, this morning stated that “she was no longer the right person to convey Ahnslen interests to the Cooperative Union”. Following that comment, it was highly speculated that the popular Ms Olivia Hughes was going to step down from her post at the Cooperative Union Aerospace Council to retake her role as ambassador to the CU - but Mikayla Atherton was announced this afternoon to be Kingsmill’s replacement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today stated that “although the circumstances are less than optimal, we are confident that Ms Atherton will do herself and her nation proud. She already has done so with the excellence she has shown in her previous roles in the Ministry. We thank Ms Kingsmill for her service as CU Ambassador and look forward to her further involvement in the national expedition into the future.”

The wording of this statement has been referred to as “sarcastic” and “rude”, but the intentions of the Ministry have not been verified and they have not responded to any further communication.

The Ministry has stated that they agree with Kingsmill on sentiment, but not delivery or tone. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formally made a request to the Suomian government to further clarify and brief the international community on the unification.

Ancient Hostel ruins found near the hot springs in Luvtar region, Government seeks recreation

"After several weeks of excavations in the Luvtar region, it turned into a grand success" declared representative of Aruian office of site preservation, after an archeologist expedition found in the hoopoe forest reserve in the Luvtar region a large old hostel prior as back as the 14 century cultivation. "The hostel used to be a way point for merchants coming in and out of the area back then by wagons. For years we tried to figure out what the old track road near the hot springs led to with no success. This is an exciting moment for Aruias history".
Aruias tourism ministry quickly sent a response and took interest in the finding according to the head of the expedition as "This is a chance to bring more tourism into Luvtar bay and its area, we will examine options to recreate the hostel and connect it to the old springs that rest nearby. We hope to make the project with the same goal we had earlier this season and hope to work along foreign sponsorship" stated Caterina Tibano, Minister of Tourism.
Earlier this season the ministry of tourism declared its efforts to enlrage to income of tourist population into Aruia by effort of cooperation with other nations, this is in response to the ministries attempts to lower tourism packages prices to Aruia in the attempts as dialogs with tourism companies in Aruia backfired and the office sat its courses to foreign tourist companies who responded.
"I will not be moved by the tourist companies' greed on the expanse of those coming to see our nation's culture, our culture is diverse and welcoming and not based on stealing from the visitors pockets. This was my missions since I got into office and that is where the ship sailing." Stated Minister Caterina when asked regarding the recent tension with Aruias local tourist companies.

Nightvvalle announces its Hockey Team will compete in the TWI Hockey Tournament! Government desires the tournament to be hosted right in Nightvvalle!

In recent events, Nightvvalle decided to sign up their National Hockey team to compete in the 2018 TWI Hockey Tournament. The team consists of the standard eighteen players with two goalies. However hockey in Nightvvalle is not very popular and the government plans to use this event to change that. When asked, a government official said "Here in Nightvvalle we strive to better ourselves. This competition will get more Vallians into hockey, or perhaps even into another sport. The reason we want this is because professional sports are a great way to increase competitiveness and raise our revenue. We want to host the games to bring even more excitement into the country. Not to mention the great weather we have here, and the relatively low crime rate, making Nightvvalle quite a good pick for host. We also see these competitions as a way for nations here to show off their skills in a friendly, yet competitive manner. All in all the Vallian government is in total favor of this event."

Nightvvalle also has a few locations that this massive ice rink could be constructed. The location would most likely be in the north, and will cost roughly $200 million. The ice rink will hold the flags of each nation attending, and will be a testimony to modern architecture. If this is a success, the Vallian government even has plans to construct more stadiums for other international competitions throughout the year!

Riots Continue In Orsandia, Grow More Violent

As the days have worn on, the Riots spreading quickly throughout the nation of Orsandia are catching more attention from the Thuzbek Government even amidst the Socialist Conference. Two weeks of heavy police response, embassy evacuations, and tear gas deployments have eaten away at the perceived stability of the Gael region.

"The situation in Orsandia is quickly deteriorating," the Foreign Minister said in a statement today. "It is the opinion of this government that Orsandia is inciting these riots with its heavy handed responses, failure to treat the protesters with respect and dignity, and further treating them as criminals in a moment when a calm, measured reaction is needed. Orsandia brings every stone thrown upon itself in it's ineptitude and abuse of the common ideals of equality, both in life and under the law. There is no path forward for Orsandia except one of violence and bloodshed if they do not attempt to meet with the protesters."

The Prime Minister is reported to have said "heavy handed police tactics and refusal to treat the protesters as people will only serve to destroy what peace there is left."

This comes after both Orsandia and Aruia condemned the previous statements by Thuzbekistan which warned of these results.

"Despite the warnings given by our government," the Vanguard Chairman said, "they chose to continue the same course and it is only leading them down a path of destruction."

As the riots continue to grow in size and scale, the police response has been to meet the protesters with tear gas and rubber bullets. The move has fueled the rise of a new group in the area with posters, signs, and banners held by the crowd endorsing the "PLF". It is unknown at this time what that may stand for or how prominent the group really is.

"The issue with protests is that you don't really see the whole picture," a professor of Revolutionary History said in an interview with TSN. "You see the angry, outspoken masses and you think 'oh the people are rising!' but it ends up just being a minority. It will be difficult to tell whether these riots and protests are the acts of hooligans and angry people or the acts of revolutionary instigation by this "PLF" group that seems to be gaining traction among the chaos."

Regardless, the Orsandian government has not offered another path forward and violence is expected to continue as a result.

The controversial appointment of Acting Chief Justice amidst the tension

BHINNEKA, Kabar Sahari - The death of Chief Justice Malanggeng last wednesday has caused the opening of a new position, and has created grief and confusion in both the Supreme Court and throughout the nation. The inquiry regarding the leaks were halted amidst news of the death, and people are beginning to question this decision. Many Samuderans are divided on the issue, some of them saying the death was ‘staged’ to uncover the truth, and others saying it was in respect to the Chief Justice’s legacy.

President Susanto, this morning, announced the appointment of Dwin Angakara as Acting Chief Justice - a promotion from Deputy Chief Justice. He was also known as a party member of the Samuderan Socialist Party (PSS), before he terminated his membership to pursue a career in the court system. He has been reported to be ‘biased and aligned to the PSS’, concerning the public over the impartiality which is fundamental for a court system.

Historically, the position of Chief Justice is contentious due to its nature and weight. The President often nominates a Supreme Court justice based on their merits, and the candidate must also be approved by the Judicial Council and the People’s Assembly. This caused the President and the majority to be in control of appointments to the highest courts of Samudera, indirectly. This time, however, with SCGAD being the majority party, the PSS were not in control of appointments of Chief Justices and Mr Malanggeng was proved to be independent and famous for his track record which solved many landmark cases.

There has been protest over the appointment of Dwi Angkara with people questioning his impartiality and track record. A leaked CCTV record is on circulation around internet, showing that three suspected killers wearing all black outfit with two motorcycles parked in front of Malanggeng’s house. The short footage, lasted around 19 seconds, proved that Malanggeng was indeed assasinated despite initial police investigation indicating “a possible sign of suicide”. Police gave no commentary regarding this alleged leaked footage, nor its authenticity.

Orsandian Government lashes out at Thuzbekistan in War of Words, Accuses them of Involvement in Protests

YANG KONG (GT) - As protests continue across Orsandia, neighboring nations in Gael have expressed concern and caution towards the deteriorating situation, and are preparing for the worst possible scenarios.

The Aruian government, neighbors and allies of Orsandia, have previously issued a condemnation of rhetoric from socialist Thuzbekistan in support of Orsandia, and have stated that they are preparing for "pre-emptive measures" should conflict arise, mainly focused upon assisting Aruian nationals visiting or currently residing in Orsandia. After the Ahnslen consulate in Yang Kong was evacuated, Ahnslen security has been increased at the embassy in Guangfeng in significant numbers.

Among the concern however, Thuzbekistan, a long time critic and fierce rival of Orsandia, has once more renewed criticism of the Orsandian response to these protests, anti-capitalist in nature, accusing the Orsandian government of inciting these riots, with "heavy-handed" reactions, and abuses of "equality" in life and under laws, lambasting Guangfeng for "refusing to meet with protestors."

"We tried mediation, they didn't want to talk. What more can we do ?" said a source within the Orsandian State Department. Guangfeng has released its own statement after Thuzbekistan's claims, stating :

"Once more, Thuzbekistan practices a sense of hypocrisy and dissonance in accusing Orsandia of cracking down on citizens. While most protests have been peaceful thus far, some of become violent, and Orsandian security forces were tasked with protecting businesses and public buildings. When we talk about lack of "equality" under life and law, Thuzbekistan seems to discount the economic suffering it imposes on its citizens, who are malnourished and starving while their Communistic bureaucrats dine in the lap of luxury. Despite claims, Orsandia indeed, does respect and cherish free speech and civil discourse, as those are values of a liberal, free society. We cannot say the same about our adversaries in Thuzbekistan, who regularly participate in human rights abuses, such as imprisoning and torturing political opponents, anti-Communist reform activists, and whistleblowers who risk to expose to the world Thuzbekistan's true authoritarian and tyrannical nature."


The statement later goes on to address the issue of the group known as the People's Liberation Force, or "PLF" describing the newly discovered movement as a "terrorist and communist plot to sow discord across Orsandia."

An alarming revelation observed during protests, was that these "PLF" protestors unfurled a Thuzbekistani Battle Flag, much to the dismay of Orsandian officials and citizens alike.

"We ask the Thuzbeks to cease interfering in our affairs, immediately." said Defense Minister Deng Enlai.

"If they cannot heed this valuable advice, then we will defend our freedom and sovereignty, by preemptive action if necessary. If it must be so, we will set Thuzbekistan ablaze.

Earlier today, the Orsandian government accused the Thuzbek government of allowing its citizens to starvation, committing humans rights abuses, and imprisoning and torturing political opponents. The Prime Minister responded angrily to the remarks, calling the statement foolish, inflammatory, and demonstrably false.

"Our entire political system is built around the idea of incorporating minority opinions and allowing civil discourse in the halls of our Parliament. We do not imprison political enemies, Our People are not starving, and these claims of human rights abuses are immensely inaccurate. Of the two of our nations, only one is undergoing civil disruption coupled with violence instigated by police."

When asked about the flag being unfurled in the protest, the Prime Minister simply denied involvement. "The claim that we are somehow involved in what is obviously a spontaneous revolution in the making is absurd. The flag being unfurled is not a mark of us being there, but a mark that we have been a successful and brotherly face for socialism, one that protesters can believe in and aspire to be like. For them to accuse us of causing unrest in their nation when it is their economic structure and its lack of regulation, its lack of compassion for the worker, and its outright theft of their wages and work that cause it is rich in Irony."

The most important part of the statement by Orsandia was the threat by the Defense Minister to "set Thuzbekistan ablaze."

"Rather than respond to it directly," the Thuzbek Defense Minister said after the statement, "he has ordered to alert level raised from One to Three. The navy is on alert, patrols throughout the Southern Eterna Sea are begining, and assets have been deployed to their stations. No threat is ever too small for Thuzbekistan's Navy to ignore and the Workers of Thuzbekistan can rest easy regardless the rants of Godless Capitalists."

President Ward Kicks off Foreign Tour

Alland- President Morris Ward commenced his first foreign visit in his new role on Monday, meeting with President Dyson of Dormill & Stiura. Leaders of the neighboring nations are expected to discuss trade, migration, and security.

The Foreign Ministry released the President's tour schedule last week, which includes visits to G4 members Ainslie, Ostehaar, and Noronica. A ministry spokesman said the President will continue on to the Mesder in the coming weeks.

The talks come in the wake of Dormill-Stiura's acceptance into the G4, and after officials in the Ward administration indicated they want an update to, and possibly an expansion of, the Northern Gael Trade Partnership, a bi-lateral free trade agreement between the two nations.

Nearly 150 refugees feared dead after refugee boat sinks in South Mesder

Up to 150 refugees are feared drowned after a refugee boat sunk in the South Mesder Sea, the Athara Magarati government stated. A baby was among the bodies washed up on beaches in Athara Magarat after the disaster. The country’s coastguard picked up 11 refugees who said they had been on an overloaded dinghy packed with around 170 people, which sank on Monday.

Kapil Ojha, a coastguard commander in Myagdi Island, said more than 50 women and 30 children were among those feared drowned. At least 17 bodies washed up on nearby beaches and were recovered by the Red Cross and various NGOs and INGOs. Ojha added: "All the bodies are of female victims and there is a girl of less than one year old. The increasing numbers of passengers on board vessels used by traffickers, with an average of 100 to 150 people, are alarming and the main cause of shipwrecks. Risks are increased by the worsening quality of vessels and the increasing use of rubber boats instead of wooden ones."

As well as drowning, refugees from what used to be Bhikkustan and New Aapelistan have been killed by suffocation and hypothermia in sea crossings, as well as on land by being run over, electrocuted, shot and hit by trains. The refugees are routinely detained, tortured, extorted or forced into labor and prostitution by gangs on their dangerous journey from one end of the Isles to the other.

Athara Magarati officials said at least 300 refugees have arrived in Athara Magarat since Christmas alone. They said that the Athara Magarati government would call the League for a resolution to recognize the refugee crisis and in faster solutions.

After a fairly heated, if one sided, debate, the parliament has revoked the Arun Valley Accords signed by the Lortik so called representatives. The King signed the revocation, stating that the Protocol was against Ilsan interests and “a plot devised by SHOCK and their Khas-Kirati co-conspirators to overthrow the [legitimate] religion and monarchy [of the Ilse].” He went on to condemn the Riddekerk as an intriguer and traitor, though he offered the lord amnesty in return for apology and a personal oath of fealty, along with the surrender of some castles to Bellemon, and monies to the King. Constitutional Committee Formed

The Parliament, seizing the initiative, has formed its own constitutional committee, against the advice of the King, who has several Court lawyers writing their own constitution. Of course, such parliamentarian actions are fancy gestures, for true power resides with the king. The proposed constitution ms have ranged widely, but most have several important commonalities. The first is a strong centralised government, to combat provincial reticence, and to have more uniform law. The second is an inclusion of rights, though what exactly the rights should be is in dispute. Property rights are fiercely contested, as are religious rights. Notably, women’s legal equality is not being questioned, most likely due to the current reliance on womenkind for King George II claim. The Royal constitution also favours a centralised government, and includes a redistricting of the entire Ilse into ten Marques, each ruled by an elected Marquis who serves for life, in addition to his offspring. They may only be unseated by a 70% vote of no confidence, and the heir to the thrown will always be the Marquis of the Faulkenland, in the southern central part of the Ilse. Though this has unsettled many nobles, it is notable that all nobles retain their properties under the Royal constitution, while the constitution from the parliament is leaning against such continuity.

Following the sinking of the Roi, and especially the high losses among the crew, accompanied by unsatisfactory Ilsan success, King George II has signed an armistice with the United Estates d agreed to withdraw all warships to Ilsan ports. SYRUSSIA has this morning offered humanitarian help to Athara Magarat in the wake of the refugee crisis that has left over 150 refugee's dead and many more at risk in the South Mesder Sea. The Syrussian Red Cross has put its hospital aid ship, SNS Mother Mercy on standby and has begun to load medical supplies, food and life saving equipment should they be given permission to assist.

The refugee crisis is currently going through a resolution with the League but Syrussia has stressed that it's assistance will not solve the issue and only a full diplomatic resolve from all league members would bring this tragedy to an end. SNS Mother Mercy could be deployed in as little as 48 hours if given the go-ahead to deploy. The ship contains 4 surgical operating theatres, a 125 bed ward and 650 personnel including doctors, nurses, surgeons and disease control specialists.

Syrussia has stated that they will gladly accept a number of refugee's into the country and be allowed to live and work on many of the countries farms and live stock facilities, though the country will only accept refugees who complete and pass strict medical and background checks.. something that would take both time and funds to achieve.

GUANGFENG, Kabar Sahari - Following the escalation of riots in Yang Kong and in several other cities in Orsandia, a sense of concern has begun to arise in the international community - as seen by the evacuation of the Ahnslen Consulate in Yang Kong. Since the early days of February, demonstrators lobbying the government to reveal the truth about the Keverai leaks have escalated into a state of rioting, leaving the police unable to control these groups.

The protesters advocate the return of a government similar to that of the Il-Chang era some 30 years ago. It was marked by a brutal authoritarian rule which led to the end of itself in the 80s. The rise of communist ideology, and its growing supporter base in Orsandia is surprising the international community, as communism had up until now lost its appeal in the nation since the Il-Chang era.

A mostly unknown organisation, known as the “PLF”, is suspected to have supported the riots and protests in Orsandia and the government has branded them as “a terrorist organisation that sows discord across our great nation”. This has prompted the Samuderan embassy in Guangfeng to issue a travel warning to Samuderans in Yang Kong, asking them “to practice extreme caution and evacuate immediately”.

There are approximately 20,000 Samuderan citizens currently in Yang Kong, with almost 80% of them being college students. Orsandia lately has become a popular college destination for young Samuderans, as a result of the new visa-free agreement that was struck with Orsandia last year. The Samuderan Ambassador in Orsandia, Ti Raka Patra, stated that the consulate in Yangkong will evacuated soon due to security reasons.

So far the government has not issued a travel warning regarding the entire nation of Orsandia, although travelers going to Orsandia are being cautioned to be careful.

Recordbreaking Winter Storm Blows through Asai Mountain Range

In an usually powerful cold snap, most of Nakiri Province is under a freeze warning today after a rapidly developing cold front suddenly intensified as it swept into the nation from the north. At this point of the year most winter storms tend to start waning in intensity as the weather slowly starts to heat up but the newly developed storm, named Sarakki H, is bringing a trail of temperatures almost 30 below normal with powerful winds of almost 80 miles an hour and gusts nearing triple digits in the Asai Mountains. As the storm moves to the south and east throughout the next day, snow accumulation totals may be as much as 19 inches in places like Litenshi, whereas Lisiana may get up to 4.

This storm may be a harbinger of bad news for the region as the intensity of the winds could lead to the possibility of avalanches and will danger to infrastructure such as power lines in some of the more remote northern settlements. Climbing expeditions in the range have been shut down as a precaution against the incredibly dangerous conditions, including what was to be a record-breaking climb by Sachikan Sezendori, age 77, who was attempting to claim the record for the oldest person to climb the revered Mount Cenai.
