President Faoláin Speaks on Mass Graves, Suggests Total Highland-Lowland Unification

Following the grim discovery of two mass graves from her predecessor, President Karolíne Catrín Faoláin secured Highland President Tadhg Dúney's blessing to speak in the Highland Republic. Faoláin spoke in front of the Highland government in Damhford just this morning.

In her speech, the Owinn President sympathized with Highlanders and the hardships they faced under the previous, Ahernric regime. "The last regime," she said, "was completely unjust to the Highland people, going so far as to brutalize and kill them for the sake of personal power and greed."

The second part of the President's speech took the form of an appeal. She respectfully proposed that the Highland government and President Dúney consider dissolving the Highland Republic and rejoin as a part of Shanowinn like it was before. Many of those in the Highland government appeared uneasy at her appeal, despite her statement that "we can move away from this haunting past together."

Although some in the Highland government were less hospitable to the idea of complete unification, President Dúney closed the session with his own statements. He thanked President Faoláin for her sincere apology, but respectfully declined her proposition of unification.

In this way, it appears that the answer to the "Highland question" is still at large, with some favoring more total unification and others favoring greater levels of autonomy. One political consultant has commented that "she made a big move too fast here, at a bad time. I understand that her angle was moving through this together, but I don't think it was right, yet."

To a lesser extent the "Carrighinnis question" also remains. The minor Island LIberation Party (ILP) has experienced a surge in popularity on the island of Carrighinnis following the discovery of the mass grave there. According to President Faoláin's staff, she plans to speak in Carrighinnis next.

BREAKING: Stabbing in Arani Metro, 2 dead

ARANI - Earlier this morning an unidentified young man stabbed two people to death, five others are injured. Police were called to the scene immediately, by the security guards in the camera room. Upon their arrival they cordoned off the area, and found the man had committed suicide. Police are investigating links with any terrorist group; they plan on interrogating his relatives and friends.
Police say that the man entered the Longhorn-Blasé Metro Station carrying switchblade knifes, at 9:25 am. He managed to get down to the Line 5 station with getting caught, and managed to stab several victims. He then ran around trying to find an exit to flee the scene, before committing suicide. The station was almost empty, which, according to the police, may have limited casualties. The five that are injured are in critical condition.
President Contie denounced the stabbing as an act of terror, and said that it only "galvanizes" the spirit of the Daskan people. The President also pushed Parliament to pass a law to deal with terrorist threats more effectively than is currently permitted by Daskan law. The Minister of the Interior emphasized that these attacks were uncommon, and Dasko was a "perfectly safe nation to spend your time in." However, some police stations have released warnings to travellers to avoid gatherings.
At the moment, the metro station remains out of operation. As well, no group claimed responsibility for the attack.

UPDATE: Whites Rise, a white supremacist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

AMBASSADOR MAKES A NUCLEAR OFFER

BELTEMPO -- President Bissente Alessandru Ricci shook many Atrian anti-nuclear proliferation activists last week with his announcement of intentions to build a nuclear arsenal. This, however, didn't come close to the backlash the government received this afternoon after Ambassador to the Western Isles Dorian Sabastian announced intentions to give foreign aid to any countries that intend to help Atriano in its quest for nuclear armaments.

"We need friends," said Ambassador Sabastian this afternoon at a press conference. "Atriano can't create a peaceful atmosphere alone."

Mayor of Beltempo and political rival to President Alessandru Ricci, Isaac Einhorn, spoke against the move by President Ricci last week, and is making his voice heard about nuclear weapons once more. Leading a protest in capital square a mere hour ago he made it abundantly clear that he wasn't going to sit idly by and allow these new policies go through without a fight. Approximately 400 picketing protesters paraded the President's Chateau del Realeza before being broken up by riot police.

Many of the older residents of capital square mention how these anti-nuclear protests mirror those they saw and even participated in in the 1970's. Even Mayor Einhorn reflected back on his days when he was a journalist for this very news network in that turbulent time period.

Einhorn had the following to say while being interviewed by ANNN reporters:

"I have seen my fair of protests, yes. None had quite as passionate fervor as these ones have been. That's the great thing about them [young people], things like social media and the internet has made them very aware of the political climate."

Pictured on the right is Einhorn and his then wife, Eliza Einhorn, at an anti-nuclear proliferation protest in capital square in 1973. Not much has changed for Mayor Isaac as he has passionately been spreading his message ever since. Some reports even claim that he dug that same sign out of storage after all these years. Einhorn gave us one last message to sign off with.

"Stay aware of what's happening, not only in Atriano, but all the world. In this modern era we live in the nuclear menace will loom over head for not much longer; soon we will throw down our weapons either peacefully or in one big bang."

Prime Minister Crassus Gais is calling on the Benito Franco led fascist San Montagnan government to rethink proposed ulitimatum. The Prime Minister reiterated that the Covonantian government will not succumb to any demands made by the fascist state. He is calling the ultimatum unrealistic.

I think Benito seems to be not in touch with reality. We see as the days pass that this country will not stop until war is declared. I have always expressed when I was Opposition Leader and to now being the Prime Minister that Covonant makes no deals with neither Communist or Fascist states. It is either our way or face retribution. Now I will hold Benito as a man to have a small touch of logic and advise him to stray far from the destructive path he leads his country on

The Prime Minister expressed that Covonant will not observe any ultimatum from the San Montagnan government. He notes that Benito must be aware of the consequences if the country should attack long standing Covonantian ally and C6/JEF member Athara Magarat.

I can state unequivocally and without any reservation that Covonant will not observe nor accept any ultimatum from Benito and his fascist regime. Covonant and Athara Magarat has longstanding special relations with tens of thousands of Covonantians residing and working in the country. Athara Magarat is a member of the JEF and an associated member of the C6, any attack on the country will pose grave threats to the relationship Athara Magarat has not only with the C6 and the JEF but with Covonant as well as well as threats to Covonantian lives and interest in the country. Athara Magarat is the red line that must not be crossed as it is Covonant's recognized zone of peace, any attack will warrant an immediate response.

The Prime Minister notes that Covonant will be taking the threats seriously. He has stated that he has advised the Armed Forces and the Defense Ministry to remain on guard.

Foreign Minister arrives in Albion Invicta

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Lydia Abbasca arrived in Albion Invicta yesterday for a two day visit to the country. The Minister arrived in the country on the heels of rising tension between Covonant and San Montagna. At the meeting of JEF representatives Minister Abbasca praised both Albion Invicta and JEF for their quick support of Covonant.

I want to thank the Albion Invictan government for their unending support to Covonant and their upholding of the virtues of maintaining peace in the Mesder. Covonant is thankful for the joint response from JEF which has reminded us of the importance of the agency and the reason we joined. With tensions present within our midst, the region must see a well coordinated JEF that can project itself on the regional stage in the organisation goal of ensuring peace.

Minister Abbasca took the initiative to update the JEF representatives on matters relating to San Montagnan/Covonantian fallout. She notes that the JEF must be prepared for confronting a common enemy.

I am sure the other member states of JEF have been keeping abreast with the news coming out of San Montagna with regards to the ulitimatum the regime is pressing towards Covonant. I can say that Covonant will not accept it. I must take this time to advise the JEF that we must begin preparations at confronting a common enemy set out to destabilize the South Mesder.

The Minister noted that over the weekend JEF and C6 members must begin full mobilisation of troops, vessels and crafts. She notes that the Covonantian government will be opened to sharing the country's bases in Ipland, Covonant and Keomora in the likely event the San Montagnan regime carries out an attack on JEF member Athara Magarat. The Minister also used the opportunity to scold the Belle Ilse en Terre government for supporting San Montagnan in the beginning but later praised them for coming around on the side of good.

I was shocked by the announcement of the Belle Ilse en Terre government's support of San Montagna. Such moves are frivolous on the part of the San Montagnan government failing to see the destructive ways of the country they supported. Covonant is however pleased to hear that the government had retracted such supports. The sanctions however will remain in place as we are not sure of the true intent of the Belle Ilse en Terre government but Covonant for now will not stress much the removal of the country from JEF but still calls for a review.

The Minister is expected to return to Coventry tomorrow.

Defense Minister: C6 and Covonant to Mobilize Over the Weekend

Minister of Defense Crixus Ignacio is today announcing the country's and the C6 decision to mobilize troops over the weekend. The Minister made the announcement via telephone to the CBC. Minister Ignacio expressed that Covonant and it's allies are not taking chances with plans by the San Montagnan government to carry out an attack on Athara Magarat. He expressed that if such attacks are carried it would be the beginning of the end for the San Montagnan regime.

The C6 have committed to answering the call to defend our associate member Athara Magarat and by extension removing a threat from the South Mesder. We have all agreed to mobilisation of troops and vessels from our headquartered base on Base Mer, Arvan and will see troop mobilized to bases in and around Covonant, Covonantian base in Ipland and Covonantian and Noronican bases in Athara Magarat. We are not wasting time where talks of an attack on an ally are made. We are trying to impart some wisdom to the San Montagnan regime that if any attack is carried out, it will be the beginning of their end.

Minister Ignacio expressed that Covonantian forces in Athara Magarat are ready for a likely attack.
The Minister noted that all systems are ready.

I can say that we are ready. Our forces around the Mesder and in Athara Magarat are ready. Our allies have expressed a readiness as well.

The Minister is calling on the San Montagnan government to come to the table to negotiate with the C6 and the JEF in a move to prevent conflict.

Despite the troubles in the South Mesder Sea and a high possibility of a war with the fascist dictatorship of San Montagna, the mood in Athara Magarat is less of a worry than the mobilization of troops ally Covonant under Crassus Gais are doing. Despite this many Athara Magarati citizens believe that Jrm Hangma has decided the best action for their nation. And political and military analysts as well as many in social websites are calling this the Jrm Hangma Gambit.

Scenario 1: Benito Franco decides that since most of the Athara Magarati ships and troops are in Kachee waters or faraway places like Arvan, Noronica, the Athara Magarati military is weak and invades Athara Magarat. San Montagna's troops overwhelm and win on the battlefield but on the other hand Athara Magaratis turn to rapid militarization in the aftermath. Jrm Hangma wins.

Scenario 2: Same as Scenario 1 but the San Montagnan troops are pushed back by quick mobilization from the allies in the C6 and the JEF. Franco is removed from power and elections take place and install a C6/JEF friendly leader. While recovering from the brief war, Athara Magarat militarizes. C6/JEF and Jrm Hangma win.

Scenario 3: Franco and San Montagnan troops focus on taking Athara Magarat, either SHOCK further wrecks the fascist dictatorship in the messed-up situation or some rebel group in San Montagna assassinates Franco. The next San Montagnan leader and C6/JEF agree to peace. Militarization of Athara Magarat. Jrm Hangma wins.

Scenario 4: Bhikkustan, a constituent country of the EUSR and historic ally of Athara Magarat, comes to Athara Magarat's aid upon the latter's invasion by San Montagna. The two mend their ties in the aftermath. The best possible outcome for Athara Magarati citizens.

Scenario 5: Same as Scenario 4, but Bhikkustan refuses to help Athara Magarat. In this case, Athara Magarat can use this betrayal as pretext in the future and claim that since they did not help Athara Magarat, the EUSR must certainly have evil intentions towards the Demokratik Kuunsrach. Rapid militarization commences for the War of the Beasts. Jrm Hangma wins.

"There are just five short scenarios. Jrm Hangma must have planned through at least two dozen long-term scenarios for this gambit she is piling upon." Numa Tulachan asserted. "Behind the soft hijab and that gentle smile lies a cold tactician. She has set the stage by going her way. The only thing remaining is for us all to see whether Franco and San Montagna will play on that already set stage."

President Hu Tang meets Combreknizan President Johan Biyastiv in hopes of warming its' relationship further

PRESIDENT HU,visits Vastovgrad, the capital city of the modern socialist state, the heart of Combrekniza. Mr. Hu has recently shaken hands with our dear friend and esteemed leader of Combrekniza, Johan Biyastiv. Following an official reception in Vastovgrad, Hu discussed bilateral relations with the representatives of Combreknizan government including President Johan Biyastiv and Military Leader of Combreknizan People's Armed Forces, Marshal Dimitri Yokev. Among other issues, the countries reached the agreement on many topics they discussed.

Hu underlined the need for Combrekniza and Tianshan to work together in an era of progressive and interventionist policies. Biyastiv responded in kind, expressing gratitude that Tianshan stands for military co-operation in a time when protectionism is increasing.

"The Tianshan government appreciates that Combrekizan is assuming more and more responsibility amid many global challenges that Combrekiza is facing, such as economically and military," Hu said.

On Monday afternoon, during a meeting with 50 representatives from Combrekizan military interests, Hu frequently pointed to Combrekizan status as Tianshan’s major supporter and a model for Tianshan when dealing arms.

Specifically, he expressed a desire that Tianshan's military focuses more on increased spendings and gaining more equipment, with improvements required in ground forces and the navy forces.

The president landed at Yisk's Capital airport on Sunday morning. An official delegation led by the Combrekizan President Johan Biyastiv welcomed him warmly. Good afternoon citizens, today, an explosion occurred in Del Agua City near The National Shrine of The Apparition of St. Bolivar Jimenez. The bombing occurred just 15 minutes after Cardinal Colquitt left the shrine for the airport for his arrival in Maladium Island. No direct damage was done to the shrine, however, a nearby church, where the cardinal was scheduled to conduct mass, was the location of the attack where 34 were killed and 78 more were injured. Amongst the dead were 2 priests and 5 sisters, injuries of the clergy number to 13. Cardinal Colquitt is expected to address the victims of the bombing and the Jimenean Church upon his arrival in Maladium Island, along with his prayers for the conversion of San Montagna.

The suspect is believed to be 26 year old, Michael Oler. He left Gran Teran yesterday to what he previously claimed to be his attendance at the holy mass in Del Agua. Witnesses say he arrived in Del Agua late last night when he planted the bomb in the church for the following morning. The bomb was on a set timer, however, the mass conducted was shorter than anticipated by Oler. He was not seen during the mass but seen near the premises moments after the bomb detonated. The local police force has been put on high alert after the attack and military personnel have been ordered to patrol the shrine and areas surrounding the headquarters of the Jimenean Catholic Church. JCNIHS Agents have been ordered to arrest Oler and discover the motives for the attack. At the moment, authorities believe he is still in Del Agua City and the government has issued curfew for the entire city. We will update you more as the event unfolds. Thank you.

As Typhoon Nate swept through the Kavju Sea, thousands of people have been badly affected.

West Suomi was well-prepared for the typhoon, however the storm still crippled southeastern West Suomi. Damage in and around Bridlington, a city on the south coast, equates to over $1 billion. However, Bridlington was not nearly as badly affected as other areas of the Kavju Sea.

Other areas of the Kavju Sea were severely affected by the storm, which is why Ostehaar, Verona Beach and possibly others decided to offer aid to the Sea. Jeyzor thanked them publicly today:

My heart goes out to all of the nations which decided to provide West Suomi and other Kavju nations with aid after the devastating Typhoon Nate. Other nations were much worse off than we were after the storm, so thank you to Ostehaar, Verona Beach and other nations who decided to help. This shows that there are many good people in the world, unlike Benito Franco and Alessandru Ricci... I know that I’ve gone off topic, but these two ‘leaders’ needed a condemnation for their fascist regime and nuclear proposal respectively. Anyway, thank you so much to all the nations that provided aid. We really, really appreciate it.

Thank you Jeyzor for your humble response to the aid.

No one was expecting Jeyzor to condemn Franco and Ricci at this time, and this has caused a mixed response from the public.

Top Suomian detectives sent to Dasko to investigate an attack by Whites Rise

Following an attack in the Arani subway by a now deceased man who was identified as a member of the Suomian white-supremacist group Whites Rise, top Suomian detectives have been sent to the scene to investigate the crime, and find out who the man was.

Wolfgang Murphy, a member of Whites Rise, gained notoriety after opening fire inside a Hindu temple in New Des Moines in June. He tried to flee to Ainslie but was caught at Waters-Laaksonen International. He was then put in jail in Ainslie.

Some people theorise that the now deceased man in Dasko was Wolfgang, who must have escaped out of prison and fled to Dasko, then have commited the stabbing.

Verona Beach The nation has begun preparations for war. Verona Beach has joined the Albion Invicta-led Joint Expeditionary Force in order to better facilitate a response to San Montagna, and is currently exercising combined-arms military forces in Trultin to practice landing procedures and air strikes if war is to come. The navy's First Fleet is patrolling the South Mesder on watch for any suspicious action from San Montagna. The Air Service is flying sorties just outside of San Montagnan airspace and near other JEF countries in the area. As the black threat of armed conflict looms, daily life at home has changed as well. Large groups of the population, male and female, have been put on notice that a draft may occur. Other members of the population have donated to or joined the Civil Defence Force in the freak case a stray Montagnan bomb or boot lands on Veronite shores. Small talk in the nation is now all about the impending military action, and the halls of government are abuzz with frenzied readying.

Chief Minister Roland Markwardt was emblematic of the current mood of preparedness when he took the podium yesterday to address the nation and San Montagna: "San Montagna has been set many red lines for themselves not to cross over the past few weeks. They have crossed them all. I take this opportunity to tell Mister Benito Franco that this is his last red line. The fascist government must step down soon and begin the process of immediate, free, and fair elections without a fascist presence that are subject to international monitoring, or they shall suffer the combined might of the free nations of the world. The ultimatum, in it's full extent, calls for:

Benito Franco to step down and turn himself in for prosecution regarding human rights abuses
The fascist government, with it's party, to dissolve and form into a non-partisan transition government
That transition government must begin working towards free and fair elections
These upcoming elections to be monitored by outside groups to ensure fairness
Any potential WMDs must be completely dismantled and removed from the nation, subject to international inspectors

ALMA ALSAR DISTRICT, KSYRTRANIAT, POLANIA, UNITED KINGDOM OF EURANIA - Euranian police have arrested hundreds of people in Polania after the Polanian zovikoit (council), following a referendum held by Polanian authorities that was declared illegal by the government of Eurania. National Police today raided polling stations, seize ballot boxes, and have detained hundreds.

The referendum comes after deputies in Polania's regional zovikoit (council), where many are far-left, seized control of the region's government from the minority regional faction of the All-Union Party, which holds monopoly over the National Council. Deputies in the legislature clashed as fistfights broke out and several were hospitalized.

The relationship between Polania and Eurania is a long and violent one, which goes back all the way since Polania was made into union with Eurania in 1596. Several attempts have been made by Polanians to become independent, most notably in 1984, in a failed coup against the regional government, which back then was under socialist rule. Since then, tensions have died down, but recently have spiked.

Polania's leaders marked no intention to back down. President of the Polanian council Jan Berriks-Barrou said that his government 'would fight to get independent' and that 'it is about time for Polania to split from the state'.

The top levels of the nation have condemned the violence and rebellion of the Polanian authorities. President Ilya Yarovsky has labeled Polania's government as 'full of sedition' and bashed it as 'leading Polania to ruin and Eurania to danger'. Meanwhile, Vladimir Mazarin has condemned the assault of demonstrators against policemen.

The Athara Magarati government has claimed that the country is being 'overrun' by San Montagnan troops. The Demokratik Kuunsrach is currently at complete chaos as heavy aerial bombardment by San Montagnan air force is commencing all over the nation. Meanwhile, a civilian crisis has began as thousands of Athara Magarati citizens and Bhikkustani refugees are fleeing to New Libang or even other nations to escape the devastating bombardment.

Full details about the situation are unavailable at the moment but Athara Magarati authorities state that at least 30,000 San Montagnan soldiers have landed in various coastlines and overwhelming the scant defense forces of the Demokratik Kuunsrach. Jrm Hangma is reported to have contacted the Chairman of the C6 Military Committee, Gary Twyck of Noronica, as well as her counterparts in various nations, for immediate assistance as well mobilizing Athara Magarati National Army and urging the citizens to maintain 'cool heads'.

President Hu Tang Denounces San Montagna as "A nation with no Brains" in Press Conference.

PRESIDENT HU has formally denounced San Montagna's action, urging other nations to follow Tianshan and many others to denounce San Montagna, and officially declare war against San Montagna. Mr. Hu explained what Tianshan will do to prevent any further deaths, as he stated that Tianshan is happy to house Athara Magarat refugees in Tianshan if the government of Athara Magarat is happy and send it's best medic army to support the fleeing refugees.

"It is a tragic to see this crisis as I am saddened to see the rise of Fascism, and then declaring war against a neutral country who boasts it's diversity. The government of Tianshan has discussed with Military Generals on what we can do to prevent any deaths as this came in conclusion, that Tianshan will send it's medic and establish shelters for the refugees. In next few hours, our dear friend who is the CEO of Yichang Power Corporation, will contact us and discuss on what they could provide as possible such as electricity, and possibly set up housing from other organisations to shelter the refugees."

Then he'd paused for a second.

"And once this dust is settled, we'll contribute our services to Athara Magarat, and provide the best opportunity for them. It is our duty to give them what they lost. Even though, we can't bring back the dead, unfortunately, this is what they have to suffer. We must give them shelter and the things they need in order to survive!"

Velah deploys to evacuate citizens in Athara Magarat

October 22, 2017

Following the surprise invasion of Athara Magarat and its subsequent declaration of war against San Montagna, Premier Abdulaziz Inoyatov has said that First Secretary of the Worker's Party of Velah, Comrade Lev Verdiyev ordered the deployment of the Velahi People's Army naval ships to secure and evacuate Velahi citizens working and living in Athara Magarat. 543 Velahi are known to reside in the Athara Magarati capital alone.

The First Secretary Verdiyev earlier condemned the surprise invasion of San Montagna, landing some 30,000 troops in the country, after a formation of its navy thought to be headed to Belle Ilse en Terre for military games, reversed their direction and began sinking Athara Magarati ships and began to land troops in the socialist country. Comrade Verdiyev called the attack "deplorable and a violation of international law on the commencement for formal hostilities" and called on San Montagnan government to cease further military activity to protect civilians and other innocent people.

The First Secretary convened an emergency meeting of the National Defense Commission to discuss plans for the safe evacuation and repatriation of Velahi citizens. The VPANS Vichit, lead and only ship of the new large amphibious assault class of the navy together with VPANS Kashagan, a Zhanzakov-class frigate have been sent to secure and evacuate Velahi nations in Athara Magarat. The national carrier's flights near Athara Magart have also been diverted, with other flights ordered to evacuate Velahi citizens. The foreign ministry have also banned the travel to Athara Magarat and in San Montagno following the commencement of a state of war.

Inoyatov blasts Koysala, says Communists offer future for the country

4th ranking member of the Presidium of the Politburo and Velahi Premier Abdulaziz Inoyatov blasted the Hindu National Party (CAC) and the imperial government for operating a "state-sponsored oppression of the workers and commonfolk" in Koysala and pinned the country's civil unrest and instability on them.

The Premier's statement, one of the most scathing rebukes of another country by a senior Velahi leader, represents a still delicate but increasingly aggressive foreign policy undertaken by the People's Democratic Republic under the First Secretary of the Worker's Party of Velah, Comrade Lev Verdiyev.

Comrade Verdiyev was said to have convened a high level meeting of the National Defense Commission a day after Chairman Praṣandrājaya announced a glorious communist revolution in Koysala under Mahasāmyavādipakṣa Samāja Ganarajya. The meeting was initially to discuss plans for the evacuation of Velahi citizens in Athara Magart, following its surprise invasion by San Montagna, but the Koysala matter was also discussed. 24 hours later, elements of the Velahi People's Army have been mobilized and ordered deployed along the Velahi-Koysala border to ensure that "Velahi security and interests were protected", while trucks carrying food, medicines and other supplies were seen crossing the border en route to areas where "communist brothers were in distress".

QUERREN: Wilton lashes out at San Montagna

They say pressure makes diamonds, and Wilton’s tirade on San Montagna is truly a diamond in the foreign policy of Ainslie. His tirade broke weeks long silence on the government’s part on the nation and has opened up a can of worms about the nation with foreign policy makers in Ainslie.

For our international viewers who may not be accustomed with Querren, it is a show where the audience asks questions to a panel made up of well known people in the political and social circles. Formally owned by a liberal broadcaster, Arendai bought the rights to produce the show a few months ago and it has become a major show on the network - especially in domestic programming.

Last night on Querren the audience continued to ask questions about San Montagna, with Wilton being one of the first politicians to be on the show since San Montagna turned into a fascist dictatorship.

“San Montagna… what do I have to say about San Montagna… let me tell you seeing that they [the audience] won’t stop asking me about it! What do I have to say about an immature government which lacks any filter, professionality or any degree of intellect. ACEGAD has been quietly sitting back as these little children dance around their islands shooting refugees, when they’d be better off shooting the rebels who may seem to form a government that might even be more functional than the current one."

It is disgraceful that the Isles has not done anything purge such, do I have to say it, stupidity! I would happily oversee a military force which would bring that finger displaying, belligerent child [Benito Franco] to the League to be dealt with under the full extent of international law - which is much more effective than their domestic law it seems, yes, their domestic law - let’s go to their constitution. How on earth does Franco and his small militia pose any threat to the democratic institutions built into their constitution? This is a clear example of what a badly written constitution can do to a nation - and frankly, it has killed any respect Ainslie or much of the Isles has towards this nation diplomatically.”

When asked whether the ACEGAD government condemned the actions of the San Montagna government, Wilton responded quickly.

“Of course we do. What democratic government wouldn’t?”

ACEGAD (the ruling party) and ACIS Ainslie (Alliance of Centres for International Studies - Ainslie Bureau) quickly responded to Wilton’s tirade online, with ACEGAD saying that “Wilton has his own opinions and although we resonate with his sentiment - we do not condone the language he used in this scenario.” whilst ACIS Ainslie showed solidarity with Wilton stating “The San Montagnan Government acts in a childish manner which cannot be allowed or listened to on the world stage - we applaud Wilton for expressing his true opinion and the League for acting in the way it needs to to maintain stability in the Isles.”

It is yet to be seen what impact Wilton’s tirade will have on international relations with San Montagna and its effect on foreign policy.

INTERNATIONAL: Evacuations begin as Myagdi falters.

Following a direct attack on Athara Magarat, the Minister of Defence and the Prime Minister have gave orders for 200 military personnel to travel to Myagdi Island. Their major objective is to protect human life and retrieve potentially dangerous chemicals from the Armex Pharmaceuticals research and development facility on the island. They are also planning to evacuate the workers and any Ahnslen citizens who are on the island. Patrick Carboni, the Ahnslen Defence Minister spoke on the issue at a press conference today.

“We have deployed a group of 200 military personnel from Highstar Base in Zenrolo today. Their objective is to rescue Ahnslen citizens on Myagdi Island and secure potentially dangerous and/or harmful chemicals in the Armex facility on Myagdi Island.”

He repeated throughout the speech that Ainslie intends to stay neutral in this war and any act of aggression will be unwelcome. He stated that this was a civil mission with civil intentions.

“We have no intention whatsoever, despite what our Deputy PM says, to enter any form of armed conflict in the South Mesder. However, we do intend to protect our interests and mitigate the damage to our interests. That must be respected by all sides.”

Carboni also revealed some of the finer details about the operation and hinted at the possibility of Kenaris Airlines increasing flights to Sitsern and Athara Magarat in order for evacuees to get home quickly

“We are thankful that the Iplandic Government, on such short notice, has opened up Sitsern Airport to make the evacuations easier. From there, we have made arrangements for private charter flights to occur back to Ainslie.”

It is likely that if Kenaris participates in this that their CASI (Consumer and Social Involvement) rating will increase, meaning that next year they will not need to pay as much in ‘Goodwill Tax’.

It is expected that ARSF personnel will land in Myagdi tomorrow morning. More to come when we receive updates about the operation itself.

INTERNATIONAL: Ainslie demands Keverai to release client info

The issue with getting bank details, specifically client information, is that Keverai has been historically very secretive in regards to banking that happens in the nation. It has been suspected that they have and are the bankers of many war criminals, especially those who participated in the Imperialonia-Sadievi war. However, the nation’s attractiveness as a place to do business and the vague nature of evidence surrounding Keverai’s banking industry has led the nation to deny all involvement in previous scenarios where they have been accused of supporting war crimes.

Wilton commented on the discovery today

“It has become known that Keverai has the details we are looking for that could break what appears to be a multinational drug trafficking ring. We demand the government of Keverai to release this information in alignment with the human rights and values many of us hold dear.”

The Keveran Government has officially stated that they must protect their high value financial sector which is so profitable because of the privacy connected with it and therefore they will not release the information. They have not responded to the lines of communication Arendai and our affiliates have opened for them.

BHINNEKA, Kabar Sahari - Following an attack on Athara Magarat, a close ally of Samudera, by San Montagna, panic and terror has become widespread in the nation. This is particularly true on Myagdi Island, where communication has been severed following the initial bombing of the island. Shock and dismay is a widespread response amongst the international community, which arose soon after the attack took place. This is a truly an unprecedented turn of events.

War has loomed in the South Mesder following the fascist coup in San Montagna, where Benito Franco rose to power. This triggered a domino effect in the region as a whole. Through his inappropriate remarks on other nations, particularly the event of denouncing Covonant. This attack on Athara Magarat is the culmination of the war threat that has been boiling since then.

In the panic and confusion which has arose, Samudera has decided to evacuate her citizens from the frontline back to the homeland. The number of Samuderans in Athara Magarat has been decreasing since Athara Magarat was hit with travel restrictions following the Ticking Flu epidemic.

Nevertheless, thousands of Samuderans remain - with 12,000 within the nation’s borders, with three-quarters of them in Myagdi Island. Many of them are college students that attended or attend the Cooperative University and/or the Myagdi Island College. Some Samuderans also work in the research and development lab run by Ahnslen Pharmaceuticals. There has been no reports about the amount of Samuderans who have died in the attack.

Evacuation
Efforts to evacuate the remaining Samuderans have been conducted in cooperation with Ainslie, the nation where Armex Pharmaceuticals is based in. ElangAir has been sent to Sitsern, Ipland, where the evacuation centre has been set up in order to accommodate the effort. The Ahnslen Government has heavily incentivised its private sector to aid in this effort, and have sent military personnel to aid the evacuation effort, specifically in Myagdi Island.

Humanitarian aid and donations have been following in, following the attack. They have totalled around $300,000 in just a few hours, to aid the evacuation and humanitarian effort to help fellow Samuderans. The donations have also went to Athara Magaratis, close and consistent allies with Samudera.

The hashtag #SaveAM has been trending in Samudera on TWItter following the attack.

The Samuderan cruise ship, Vahana, who coincidently was anchored in Myagdi Port when the attack happened is reported to be seaworthy following the attack. It is now bringing Samuderan citizens and several Athara Magarati refugees to Samudera.

President Justuva Susanto addressed the nation in a speech regarding the evacuation today.

Our current aim is to safely bring back all Samuderans who are within Athara Magarati borders. We have no involvement in this war, and we have no intention to join it.

Some denounced the President for abandoning Samuderan traditional ally, while others argue that it is important to keep Samudera from a war she can’t sustain nor gain any advantage from the war itself.

RICCI RESPONDS, SAYS JAYZOR IS A "CHILDISH BACKBITER"

We here at ANNN had the privilege of an exclusive interview with our President, Bissente Alessandru Ricci, on his proposed nuclear program, as well as his opinion on other nations' response to it.

JOEL -- Good afternoon, Presiderchi. I'd like to thank you for this honor.

BISSENTE -- Afternoon to you as well. I appreciate you taking the time to hear me out.

JOEL -- So where about the island are you from?

BISSENTE -- Beltempo, born and raised. My father was on the city council in my childhood.

JOEL -- Is that where your interest in politics stems from?

B -- Without a doubt. I was introduced to the political process at an early age.

J -- Is it safe to assume that's where your sister and vicepresiderchi gets her interest from too?

B -- [laughing] You know the old saying about assuming?

J -- [laughing] Fair enough. Let's dive right into the juicy questions the readers are here for, shall we? First off, can you give us your reasoning behind making your intentions with a nuclear program so publicized?

B -- That's simple, really. In this day and age any nation that truly wants to defend itself needs to show they are willing to do so. We have to flex our muscles to assure we are left alone.

J -- So nuclear proliferation is your answer?

B -- It is the people of Atriano's.

J -- Surely you have noticed the protests and negative response? In fact, there was a demonstration right on your front lawn.

B -- There will always be critics and people meaning to make me look bad. It's always been the case for me... just have to shrug it off. And as for the people at my chateau, for their information I was on a holiday on the day of that protest.

J -- That certainly has to be embarrassing for the hundreds that showed up for the protest. Speaking of those protests, are you aware that Isaac Einhorn, your adversary in the 2016 election, was involved in organizing these protests?

B -- Yes, I'm aware of Mister Einhorn's involvement. Nuclear energy and weaponry has always been a part of his platform.

J -- Do you have anything you wish to say to him or about him?

B -- No.

J -- Alright, shifting topics, what is your response to various nations of the Western Isles condemning you and your actions recently?

B -- I think it is absolute nonsense. Would a nation condemn another for funding their military? For building a defense force? Conscripts? No. Absolutely not. Just because a country has an army doesn't mean they are willing to use it for conquest and armed conflict. It is to show foes what they are capable of if they wish to start trouble. The same goes for our nuclear weapons program. It is not to prepare for nuclear war, it is to prevent it.

J -- So does that mean you are not willing to use nuclear weapons if Atriano is capable of producing them?

B -- [pause] I do not wish to sound as if I want a nuclear war to begin, no one does. The consequences of launching a nuclear weapon are... grave, to put it lightly. However, if a situation were to arise where we deem it necessary we would not hesitate to use a nuclear missile.

J -- Do you have anything you wish to say directly to anyone who has condemned you?

B -- My heart aches to see so many dismiss this program as simply a way to cause more pain and suffering in the world. Leaders of nations such as Polar Svalbard or Athara Magarat, and most recently President Laaksonen of West Suomi, Jeyzor as many call him, disgust me with their snide and indirect comments directed at our great confederacy.

J -- You mention the president of West Suomi, many seem to be surprised that he didn't even condemn you in a special announcement, instead just mentioning you in an unrelated tangent. Do you feel this was a personal attack?

B -- Absolutely. Excuse me for using such harsh words to describe him, but his comment towards me shows him to be nothing more than a pathetic hack. He chooses to insult me, not to my face, but in an offhanded comment to the press to make himself look good. What is this, elementary school? Gossiping behind my back to his little friends? Grow up "president," these are world politics and you are a childish backbiter.

J -- Alright, I believe that covers all the questions I wished to ask. Thank you once again, Presiderchi Alessandru Ricci. Is there anything you'd like to add?

B -- Nothing I have yet to say. Thank you for giving me this platform. I'll keep in touch.

President Ricci spoke with me later, asking that I mention his desire to sanction trade with West Suomi. So far we've received no further statements about the topic from his or any other politicians. At this moment it is unclear whether these sanctions will be placed, and how much it will affect either nation's economy.

Today President Jari responded to President Ricci’s strong opinion on him. Jeyzor stated the following:

Hello, everyone. I am here today to discuss an important matter about a fellow neighbour of ours, Atriano. As you all probably now, President Alessandru Ricci lashed out on me, calling me a ‘childish backbiter’. Now, I know that my comment yesterday may have been a bit harsh, but I was only trying to do Ricci a favour. I wanted him to have a second thought about his decisions, before he may reach an even higher stage of hatred. Nuclear proliferation is not the way to peace, the way to peace is to use diplomacy, and try avoid conflict as much as possible. And Ricci, your thought that I did it to get media attention was not true. I simply did this to warn you about what could happen to your nation in the future if this behaviour continues. Thanks for your understanding, and I hope our two nations can prosper through this whole ordeal.

Jeyzor then walked away, receiving many claps and a few small boos at the back.

Defense Minister sends 700 peacekeepers to help rescue Suomian citizens and help locals during the war

The Minister of Defense, Colton Crowe, has decided to send 700 peacekeepers to Athara Magarat to help rescue Suomian citizens, as well as try help the locals affected.

Since both West Suomi and AM are in the CU, there are quite a few Suomian citizens in AM who need to be saved.

Mr. Crowe made the following announcement:

San Montagna has begun war with Athara Magarat, and in the middle of the two fighters many innocent Suomians and other people are in a desperate need of assistance. All rescued Suomians will be hastily evacuated back to their homeland, and then treated with medical care, food and water if necessary. Now I think it is a good time to mention the age old African proverb, “When elephants fight, it is the grass that gets hurt.” This proverb could not be more true about the current situation between AM and SM. Thank you.

An Extraordinary Party Meeting happened yesterday, called by Jenő Almássy last week the Meeting happened to be uncommon as only Almássy had a speech:

We surely need to open ourselves to our neighbors, for too long we have been closed, the first step was made by Zsófia Petőcs back in 2001 when she legalized tourism as Premier at the time, now, as Minister of External Affairs, she has worked day and night to work for the Thromsonian Workers. I called this meeting with the purpose to communicate with the Party Leaders about this matter, and we have decided to declare our sympathy to the fight from the Workers and Peasants in the Vindhya Mountains, who declared independence from the Koysalan Aristocracy. We as well freed ourselves from the hands of capitalism years and years ago,
and should be thankful for it. We so hope, that the bloodshed of the revolution happening is small. The children of the Vindhya Mountains deserve peace and a bright future, and we, from the Workers Party of Thromsa wish the very best of luck to the MSG, who, if needed shall have support from us.

Vancouvian Congress Warns Against Collateral Damage

In an address today, the Vancouvian Congress warned that any attacks against Vancouvian personnel currently stationed in Athara Magarat, by any military or civilian force, will be considered an act of war and will be responded to in kind.

Let it be known to ALL, that the Vancouvian Mission in place in Athara Magarat shall not be harmed in any way, by any force, through any means, or the aggression shall be met with Equal Force.

What many are calling a clustermuck, the situation in Athara Magarat has deteriorated rapidly, with multiple countries sending troops to the embattled nation to pull out their citizens. Vancouvian political commentators have posed that this will only complicate the situation and endanger more lives.

"When you have 15 different nations all scrambling their jets and bursting into homes, the odds for friendly fire incidents vastly increase," spoke retired Colonel Roger McHenry. "What Athara Magarat needs is a single rallying force to defend against aggression, not a multilateral series of armies deploying in and out without care."

Congress also warned against any aggression against Noronica, which has a VACES alliance with Vancouvia. In theory, Vancouvia would be obligated to defend Noronica from any aggression, although the nature of the conflict may put Noronica on the other side of that coin. Regardless, Vancouvian cohorts stationed in Ipland and Verona Beach have been placed on alert and will be ready to deploy to the region if required.

Vancouvian troops have been present in Athara Magarat since late June, after the catastrophic North Yorkford and Summerland terrorist attacks were confirmed to be undertaken by SHOCK and Congress received permission to assist Magarati police and paramilitaries in the capture and destruction of terrorist cells. Currently two Vancouvian Special Forces cohorts are stationed in the nation, most based out of major cities now soon likely to become battlegrounds.

BREAKING NEWS: History Made as Strike Group is Mobilised to Aid Athara Magarat

Under an Executive Military Order from the Valdr, the Tectonixian Naval Force has been mobilised to Athara Magarat.

- (Stellanova City, Tectonix) For the first time in Tectonix's history since the fall of Mortina, Tectonixians are now off to a conflict — more specifically, to aid the fellow CU member-state of Athara Magarat. The aircraft carrier TNF Montgomery and its augmented strike group of seven destroyers, five frigates, three submarines and two medical support frigates, as of five hours ago, have entered Athara Magarati territorial waters, and are currently performing evacuations of Tectonixian civilians on the island.

The Valdr made this bold move due to what he described as "the clear need to protect our allies" and "our own citizens under attack from the vicious fascist regime of San Montagna."

We Tectonixians have always been a peaceful folk. We never accepted the violent revolution of Mortina or its oppressive protocols, and why? Because we are a nation of people who fight against fascism, who fight against oppression and public subjugation, wherever it may lie. After Mortina, the good men and women of the Stellanova Summit decided that Tectonix should never again engage in warfare with itself — however, they did not bind us from protecting our interests abroad, as much as some members of Parliament may make you believe. Tectonixian citizens are at risk of being injured and killed in a Cooperative Union ally by a horrendous anile fascist who cares about no one but himself. This is not, and shall never be, acceptable. After careful consideration and consultation with both MPs and my military chiefs, I have decided to deploy an augmented strike group of the Tectonixian Naval Force to evacuate Tectonixian civilians, protect civilian aircraft leaving Athara Magarat and to keep the peace in the regions in which Tectonixians are most heavily concentrated. I have sent word Chief National Ambassador Entemont to get the CUPF mobilised immediately, so as they can bear the brunt of protecting Athara Magarat proper. As much as I wish to defend our ally, we are in no position to directly intervene in that manner at this time — for all further discourse, please refer to the Valdrian Estate Press Secretary. Thank you very much, and may the stars watch over you.

High Admiral Béla Karkarov stated in a press conference that the strike group has been "primarily outfitted with high-capacity transport planes, with sufficient fighters to protect them against any threats in transit." Tectonixian military forces, as of now, have been ordered to not fire upon San Montagnan military assets unless directly attacked. "Due to the legalities of the rules of engagement and no declaration of war, we are avoiding open conflict with the San Montagnan forces."

In another history-making act, Parliament approved, with a two-thirds majority, the labelling of San Montagna as a "Black-Status" nation, reserved only for nations who are either at war with Tectonix, or pose a direct threat to its interests domestically and abroad. Ticking Flu screenings for rescued Tectonixian and Athara Magarati citizens alike will be conducted both at-sea and in specialised evacuee retention centres in the homeland.
