Allons-y! National team wins first game 2-1

NORSTHAM-Les Perroquets have opened the regional tournament with a strong showing in their first game, earning a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Samudera. The match started with an early goal by Trultin when a corner kick was put into the Samuderan goal on a header by Saint-Yves in the 17th minute. The game remained a 1-0 struggle until just before the half, when at 44', the Samuderan forward slipped past the defense and put a stunning goal into the upper left corner of the net to equalize just before the half.

The second half began with a nail-biting moment for les Perroquets when another counter-attack opportunity was given up to the Samuderan squad. Fortunately, the strike went off the cross-bar at 59', missing giving Samudera the lead by mere centimeters. The next twenty minutes were spent in a breathless toe-to-toe slugging match as both teams attacked and counter-attacked, though neither team seemed to be able to get a shot on goal. Finally, at 80' Barrande tapped a pass through a gap in the defense for Barbet, who delivered it into the goal with an amazing show of footwork as he outpaced one of the Samuderan defenders. When the whistle blew ten minutes later, Trultin was the victor and stands in a good position to lead the group going into the round of 12.

Lardingo Record
Crystal City Lardingo

Football craze sweeps the nation during Western Isles Cup.

Football fervor has been high recently as millions of Lardians gather around TV sets across the nation, from Crystal City to Kaster District, to cheer on the Lardingo national team during this year’s Isles Cup. Football is not a very popular sport in Lardingo, with citizens drifting toward more contact oriented sports such as wresting.
Lardingo’s national team was previously unknown until a few months ago.
However the Lardingo Hawks have held their own during their first two matches, beating the Rejected Regents 2-0 in their first game, and tieing with Athara Magarat in their second.

All of us on the team are really excited. It’s going to be really tough to advance, of course. In many of these countries we are competing against, football is a big part of life and those people are super serious about it. We are going to keep working hard and try to win it all for Lardingo.
Tom Nerwin, Goalie for the Lardingo Hawks

Football enthusiasts are hopeful that all the focus on the Cup will boost the sport’s popularity here in the long run.

Match Results: Lardingo (Natl) 2–0 Rejected Regents (Natl)
The Free Republic of Lardingo (Natl) 0–0 The Democratic Republic of Athara Magarat (Natl)

Imperialonian war criminals seek refuge in New Aapelistan

To honour the League's request for extradition of people who may have committed war crimes in the Imperialonian-Sadievi war, Viceroy Melas II signed a decree today to arrest all assumed criminals. This lead to more than hundred arrests of both soldiers and officers, who fought in the war, and administrative officials working for the Ministry of Defence or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two masterminds behind the attack on the Sadievi islands, which cost approximatly hundreds of innocent lifes, Minister Ontariona Flammable and General Krateon Unifo appeared to have sought refuge in New Aapelistan however.

As soon as Prime-Minister Montgomery heart about the request for extradition from Ambassador to the League, Lady Isis Fairglass, Countess of Seacliff, he met Viceroy Melas II. After the meeting they gave a joint statement in which Melas II issued a royal decree for the arrest of all men and woman responsible:

About two years ago Great-Imperialonia was engaged in a war to protect our citizens, living in the Free Lands of Sadievi. Their Prime-Minister threathend to take away their rights and we responded with forces, after it had become clear no diplomatic solution could be found. During the war however, some high government officials, such as our former Defence Secretary and Great General, took some brutal and outrageous actions to invade the islands, which they have never been punsihed for due to their immunity and later pardon. This is a disgrace for our Viceroyalty and I have hereby decided to revoke their pardon, but also all the other people responsible for this brutal attack. I have also decided to issue a decree for the arrest of all these men, so that their crimes can be further investigated and those responsible will be brought to justice.

Immediatly after the statement dozens of people were taken custody. They can however only be prosecuted if the attorney's find evidence of their engagement in the war. Nevertheless, this is seen as a drastic action by the Viceroy, especially because he also holds the position of commander-in-chief of the United Imperialonian Forces. The decree was immediatly praised by many parties in the House of Delegates.

A witch hunt started for Ontariona Flammable and Krateon Unifo, the two people most resposible for the attack. However, around 14:00 rumours started they had already fled and a little while later this was confirmed by the New Aapelistanian government. There are no detailes, only that it appeared they have sought political asylum. The government has not yet given a statement, but if this would really be the case it could become very difficult for the Prime-Minister to ask for extradition from the Aapelistanian government.

30 August, JAVANA | After months of political campaigning, the candidates are making their closing statements before the Cantonosian people head to the polls tomorrow. Although a total of 11 candidates are contesting the executive seat of the President, only four are considered the front-runners of this race. Cantonosian presidential elections operate on a two-round system on a standard cycle of 5 years. After the first round of voting, the two frontrunners go ahead to the next round of voting a few weeks later where the President is ultimately chosen. Incumbent President, Oh Sangwoo of the Cantonosian People's Party (CPP), is currently favoured by the polls to extend his term by another 5 years. Sangwoo has been serving since the 2012, where he defeated then incumbent President Kevin Chayasarn of the Cantonosian Labour Democrats (CLD). His presidential alliance then went on ahead to win an outright majority in the legislative elections of 2012, giving him a healthy mandate with which to lead the nation for the upcoming five years. Now however, after 5 years of the government dealing with a barrage of criticism on issues such as the legal status of gay marriage in the United Cities, the path to the Presidential palace does not seem as easy for President Sangwoo this time around.

In his closing statement to the nation, President Sangwoo stated:
This is an incredible crowd, and it's good to be back. The weather is cooperating. It, sort of, feels like Orebro: nice and brisk.

Now, for the past week, even in the midst of all this campaigning and electioneering and way too many TV commercials, all of us have been focused on one of the worst storms of our lifetimes. And I had a chance to visit every city of this country, and every day I've been talking to mayors and Governors and local officials and families.

We've made progress these last 5 years. But the reason we're all gathered here is because we know we've got more work to do. We've got more work to do. As long as there's a single Cantonosian who wants a job, but can't find one, our work is not yet done. As long as there are families working harder and harder, but still falling behind, we've got more work to do. As long as there is a child anywhere in Orebro, in the Haals, in Cantonos, who's languishing in poverty and barred from opportunity, our work is not yet done. The fight goes on.

Our fight goes on because these United Cities cannot succeed without a growing, thriving middle class and sturdy, strong ladders for everybody who's willing to work to get into the middle class. Our fight goes on because we know Cantonos has always done best, we've always prospered, when everybody gets a fair shot and everybody is doing their fair share, everybody is playing by the same rules. That's what we believe. That's why you elected me in 2012, and that is why I'm running for a second term as President of the United Cities.

Now, Orebro, tomorrow you have a choice to make. And it's not just a choice between some parties and some candidates. It is a choice between different visions for Cantonos. It's a choice between returning to the economic suicide of irresponsible spending and punishing business that crashed our economy or a future that's built on providing opportunity to everybody and growing a strong middle class.

Understand, Orebro, as Cantonosians, we honor the strivers, the dreamers, the small-businesspeople, the risk takers, the entrepreneurs, who've been the driving force behind our free enterprise system. And that free market is the greatest engine of prosperity and growth the world has ever known. But we also believe that in this country, like no other, our market works, our system works, only when everybody has got a shot, when everybody is participating, when everybody has a chance to get a decent education, when every worker has the chance to get the skills they need, when we truly are -- a meritocracy.

So, Orebro, our ideas have been tested. We've tried them: They worked. The other side's ideas have also been tested. They didn't work so well. After Kevin Chayasarn entered office, during most of the last decade, we tried imposing higher taxes on the people. And what did we get? Falling incomes, record deficits, the slowest job growth in half a century, an economic crisis that we've been cleaning up after ever since.

So this should not be that complicated. We tried our ideas: They worked. The economy grew; we created jobs; deficits went down. We tried their ideas. They didn't work. The economy didn't grow, not as many jobs, and the deficit went up.

Vote with your conscience for your future, that of your children, and that of the nation. Vote for strong and stable leadership that will keep the ship on course towards a brighter tomorrow. Vote for me as your next President. Thank you!

Other prominent politicians such as Labour Democrat Pascaline Simon's, Federal Liberal Yuko Choi and Popular Republican Chikako Mylène Jacques -- commonly referred to as CMJ -- have given their closing argument to the people of this nation decrying the ineficciencies of the current government and the dire need for change. Who is right and who isn't shall be decided tomorrow at the polling booths by the people of Cantonos.

Labour Democrat Pascaline Simon (left) and CPP's Oh Sangwoo (right)

30 August, JAVANA | In a fantastical defeat towards the political establishment and the prospect of a CPP re-election to the Presidency, incumbent Oh Sangwoo was defeated by Labour Democrat Pascaline Simon in the first round of voting. President Sangwoo was seen by the bookies as the most favorite to win the first round, with polls up to election night putting him at least 5 points ahead of his runner up Ms Simon.

  • 2nd round polls:

Commentators attribute President Sangwoo's last minute slip-up in the polls due to his uncharacteristically poor perfomance during the televised leaders' debates. They describe Sangwoo's performance as lacking, and insecure at moments, struggling to give elaborate answers to tough questions posed both by his contemporaries and the crowd on a variety of controversial issues. Ms. Simon, although not universally declared as the winner of the debates, was much better prepared and made her case more convincingly to the public. This however was expected, the opposition has had 5 years to prepare arguments on why current issues are attributed to President Sangwoo's failures during his governmental tenure. The true star of the debates was the eloquent left-populist CMJ (Chikako Mylene Jacques) of the Popular Republicans who captivated the attention of the nation with his anti-globalist and pro-workers rhetoric which raised the PRM from a vague political movement to a major player in Cantonosian politics. This ultimately translated to the Popular Republicans acquiring a stunning 16.4%, which does not equate to a run in the second round of voting for the presidential elections, but puts them on a good course towards the legislative elections a month later as one of the mainstream parties.

Image

Polls breaking down the likely votes of the first round and translating them to those in the second round put Ms Simon ahead of Mr Sangwoo, with 53.4% of the total voters affirming their intention to vote for the LabDem candidate in the second round. PRM and SP voters are likely to drift towards the left-leaning message of Ms. Simon, while FLP, UCIP and CNP voters are likely to back Mr. Sangwoo on economic policy, borders and social issues. The second round of voting is scheduled to occur two weeks later, with the last two contenders mobilising their campaigns to contest each and every single vote across the United Cities.

The Red Line robberies

From Auburn to Port Blair, the Red Line is the most used and best known freight and transportation line in the nation. Almost everything is perfect about the line, tickets are cheap for a luxury train ride. The problem? The Red Line runs through the badlands with a single stop in the state. Since the lines inception (1843) security has been high, but where there is a great need for security there must be a large amount of desperate criminals. At roughly 3:21 AM on tuesday morning the Red Line was hit. On a routine freight stop in the badlands took longer than expected. Criminals saw and took the opportunity. Storming the station firing their firearms at anyone who dared to move. In what felt like a scene straight out of a cowboy movie. The criminals stormed the train, demanding any and all valuables and cash from the passengers of the train. After stealing everything they could from the passengers they demanded a manifest of the trains freight. Looking for valuables, they didn't find anything to their liking and began to hold the train hostage until a ransom could be paid.

After a few hours, local security teams set up snipers on the hills surrounding the station. And once the criminals were in sight, they began to exchange fire. The firefight lasted but a few minutes with all criminals dead or wounded. The total death tolls of the entire robbery is 5 dead (4 criminals, 1 civilian) and 18 wounded (most non-gunshot wounds). After this event. The Red Line has seen a major increase in security personnel on the trains and at each train stop

Auburn Worlds Modern Wild West?

For decades the world has been modernizing and developing at a rapid rate. As the economy strengthens around the world so do nations infrastructures. The same goes for most of Heddwich. However the one exception is Auburn. Nestled in the Northeastern corner of the nation, Auburns enjoy a small infrastructure in exchange for unrivaled natural beauty. Because of this. A large portion of the country is full of undiscovered lands and small settlements. It is often compared to the old wild west the cowboys once called their home. Some foreigners even immigrate to the state to enjoy it's unlimited freedom. The state is compared to the Badlands in terms of unclaimed land but those living in auburn can trust local sheriffs to handle all of the unruly folk. With the beautiful country there for the taking. Many have moved to the state to begin a new life, many in the mayoral territory are packing up and heading east for the simple life. This has proved to benefit the economy of the Mayoral Territory due to higher job demand and previously unemployed people to take those jobs.

Cooler temperatures set for Autumn in TWI

Following an extremely warm summer for the region, it is expected that within the next 2-3 weeks all cities but those in the tropics will experience lower temperatures. It has been predicted that the region will experience a cooler spring, with the tropics staying at a relatively average temperature for summer throughout autumn. In particular, more northerly cities are going to experience a decline in temperatures, with sub zero temperatures predicted throughout the season for many locations in the far north. Following an extremely warm last week of summer for Port Blair, Heddwich, northerlies are expected to cool down the city and place it back into the low twenties for most of autumn. Summer for Arnton is going to continue for another week or two until the northeasterly winds begin to influence the city, lowering temperatures.

Athara Magarat apologizes, SHOCK declares "crusade"

Image
Fighters from SHOCK during training in a leaked video.

NEW LIBANG

"It is the same story again," says a resident of Coventry, Covonant on the condition of anonymity. "Athara Magarati government keeps on apologizing and SHOCK continue their violence. I honestly do not know what to say now. Since, Gais was elected and their Hang was suspended, our nations had this sort of strained thing...but with the Kumari of Coventry at it again, I think it is high time she be somehow taken care of...if they find her. Even if she is technically a minor and a religious figure."

Image
Namdhingo Kurumbang, who was later identified as having a history of psychological problems, carried out one of the first SHOCK-related attacks as per the order of the Kumari of Coventry.

Other people agreed to this view and it was understandable as citizens of Coventry had not still recovered from the lone wolf attack carried out by 26 years old Athara Magarati national Namdhingo Kurumbang in January that resulted in the deaths of five Covonantian citizens. Though Ms Kurumbang was later identified by Athara Magarati authorities and Covonantian law enforcement as having a history of psychological problems, her brazen attack was one of the first related directly to SHOCK and one said to have been ordered by the Kumari of Coventry.

Image
The Kumari of Coventry has supported and even ordered several 'crusades' of SHOCK.

In February, the Kumari of Coventry had declared for a 'crusade' on the French-Arvanans in the then rogue state of Arvan which now under occupation by Noronica and her allies. The ever mysterious Kumari of Coventry is reported to be just 13 years of age but she remains one of the most controversial figures in modern-day history. Various sources including the government of Athara Magarat, the now temporarily suspended Hang and the High Kumari of New Libang claim that the Kumari of Coventry is a victim of her own and forced by intimidation or brainwashed by SHOCK to write such brutal orders. But whether she was forced to write such orders or not is of debate, the fact remains that she has ordered yet another 'crusade'. This time on the Free Lands of Vancouvia.

Image
The government of Athara Magarat apologized from the Mourning Gurkha war memorial site in the new turn of events.

As news of the order from the Kumari of Coventry, released in a viral video by SHOCK dominated news headlines, the government of Athara Magarat issued yet another official apology especially to the residents of Coventry, to Vancouvian soldiers whose teammates had been MIA in Athara Magarat while searching for possible SHOCK suspects, to Arvanans who have been shaken by SHOCK's use of Kirat-Sunuwar children as soldiers in their so-called 'crusades' and to all those who had lost their family, friends and relatives to SHOCK's atrocities.

Image
Disturbing reports and videos of Kirat-Sunuwar child soldiers from Arvan and also from Kachee Sultanate are becoming frequent news headlines.

The order from the Kumari of Coventry reportedly reads: "An Isles nation corrupted by outsiders, immigrants from America, Canada, Scandinavia, Japan, Korea and other outside countries have robbed the true native culture of this land Vancouvia. The Nyssics of Vaenland [old name of Vancouvia] have given up their true Nyssic identity while our Khas-Kirati cousins there have forgotten the way of the Yellow Dragon. The Mandate of the Yellow Dragon calls for the Isles to unite and fight. Long has this outside influence taken root in the proud nation of Vancouvia. Long has this outside influence forced the innocent Vancouvians to see us as their enemy. In the last attempt to enact the Final Solution, the Yellow Dragon hereby orders all Isles natives to stand with SHOCK in removing the outsiders from Vancouvia. To arms! I bless all the faithful who heed what the Yellow Dragon has commanded to me to order - this 'crusade' to remove the outside influence from Vancouvia."

Image
The Speaker declares SHOCK's 'crusade' on Vancouvia on the behalf of the Kumari of Coventry.

Like all other Kumaris, the Kumari of Coventry was also silent and stoic as usual. Her order was read out by the Speaker, a tanned elderly man who is generally believed to be one of the top leaders of SHOCK and has appeared in almost all videos SHOCK has released. The government of Athara Magarat immediate reactions were to apologize for this new turn of events and call for more cooperation between itself, Vancouvia and all other nations to counter the SHOCK threat. It remains to be seen how the rest of the Isles react to this new turn of events.

Renovations on Lisung High Court are Complete

After 15 months of work, the Lisung High Court is in the final stages of of renovation. Having suffered moderate structural damage from a particularly nasty storm last year, the building was initially scheduled for structural repair only, but the Ei Province Legislature passed a bill allocating more money towards the project to update the interior layout of the building. Located in the heart of the capital city, the relatively modest looking High Court is the second most powerful judiciary center in the nation, though until the update process it was also the most outdated in the country. With construction complete, traffic inside the city is finally back to normal, much to the delight of those living in the capital city. We reached out to a few random citizens to get their opinions on the matter:

"It certainly looks better than before" mentioned a random guy walking into the building. "Now that they renovated my office, I can spend more time looking like I'm being productive. And the bigger windows are a testament to our desire to constantly strive for transparency. Or something like that. Anyways, can you get out of my way?

"At least the traffic is better than before" mentioned a random woman driving by on the street, stopping traffic to speak to the newscaster. "It was horrible, having to deal with daily slowdowns and traffic jams, all because a building in the middle of the city needed repairs. "I heard that next up is going to be the Royal Legislature, and that's going to be even worse. Hopefully the construction crews will move a little faster this time so we don't get our commutes extended for no reason."

Now that the building is finally finished, the first case in the new building will be an appeal for the murder trial of Akane Ena. Though the expected verdict is unlikely to change, at least the people in the building won't have to worry about random roof tiles falling upon them during the session.

On the San montagnian Isle of Mario, Tensions Rise as Ethnic Minority Groups have occupied Government Buildings on the Isle and have Claimed independence from San Montagna, They have also Arrested all Government figures on the island, while rounding up Citizens who are not a part of their desired Ethnic Groups. This has sparked a stand-off with San Montagnian Military Reserves stationed on the island at the time for a training exercise.

Prime minister Benito Franco Spoke at a press conference about the Event: "These minorities, who have been here since who knows when, have been groomed By SHOCK, the vicious Terror Group, They have been Lied to, told that they are being oppressed by "evil Italian Colonials", and have demanded Freedom." He stated. "We will not tolerate the Detainment of Citizens In Concentrations camps, as these violent extremists are doing, for all we know, they could all be dead in that camp.". He then said. "We will attempt to resolve this peacefully however, and if necessary send in the Armed forces, as of now, there are only Reserve troops stationed on the Island, as the police was composed of a majority of turncoat Ethnic Groups, while the others were arrested by them." he finished it all by saying: "The evil of Shock will fall before the good of San Montagna, they failed to defeat us once, and they will fail again."

Shock's commitment to the takeover is uncertain, however, several photos, like this one, are reported to show Shock soldiers aiding the militia forces in the Occupation process.

The Presence of Reserves has worried some, including Retired Native Military Colonel Luigi Gretzy, who says "The Militia is better equipped than the reserves, They have ak-74s and other modern weapons, while the reserves have old Night-Miyongma bolt-Action rifles, as well as 1940s Luigi Machine Guns, Severely outdated for modern Warfare in my opinion." He goes on to say. "They are also Severely outnumbered, there are just 20 000 reserves on the Island, while there are a reported 70 000 militia men, and that's without the rumored Shock soldiers. I would suggest the Military gets More Soldiers on the island".

Yesterday evening, A Video Surfaced online showing SHOCK soldiers Beheading Italian-Montagnian citizens on Mario Island, While Militia soldiers cheered them on. The Video is definite proof of SHOCK Support of the Militia Takeover of Mario Island.
Image
The Shocking and Graphic Video was soon removed from most social media sites

Following this, Prime Minister Benito Franco made another Speech at a press conference: "We are giving these Fu*cking pieces of Sh#t one last chance to surrender, or we will annihilate them, brutally. They don't deserve the right near our land, or even the right to live, after all they don't give a F*ck about other peoples lives" He said with Anger. "And when this is all resolved I say we find the root of this Evil and annihilate it. We will Destroy SHOCK, the Ethnic militia and all its followers, We Should begin in Athara Magarat where SHOCK and its leader is most likely located. But we should go further than that, because Athara Margarat has only about a million people, how is SHOCK even a problem? I'll tell you why, because a large Amount of the Population is radicalized and the Government tolerates it. We should go there, Overthrow the Government and destroy SHOCK"

The Speech has raised controversy not only because of its strong language and the unhinged nature of the Prime Minister, but of his intent to invade Athara Magarat. Local Opposition Supporter Desmond Strey told us: "This guy is Crazy, he'll go Fascist, invade Athara magarat, and destroy culture, while massacring everyone"

Meanwhile, Local Expert John Johnson said: "The Government is not the problem in Athara Magarat, it is solely SHOCK, Mr.Franco is going crazy, making up facts and trying to become warlord, he should be impeached immediately!!!!"

Restoration of the Warrior Kings monument ends after eight months

Image
The Warrior Kings in the Pajeú river, municipality of Santiago

The construction work of restoration of the Warrior Kings was concluded in this Saturday, 3rd of September, after eight months. As neither the King Lorenzo or the Prime Minister Leonardo Pinheiro are currently in Dragão do Mar, the Crowned Minister, Donatelo Cardoso, started the ceremony of re-opening for visitations. Also were in the ceremony the cardinal Daniel Tempeiro, from Santiago, and Emílio Noisk, president of the contractor company charged for the restoration, Noisk Corporation.

The Warrior Kings is a monument comprising two enormous pillars carved in the likenesses of the first king of Dragão do Mar, Rafael, in the left, and the second king of Dragão do Mar, Gustavo, standing upon either side of the River Pajéu, at the center of Dragão do Mar and southwest of the province of Aldeota. The figures started to be constructed about 1923 at the order of the King Alencar to commemorate the centenary of establishment of Dragão do Mar, and was finished at 1948, in reign of the Queen Lisete. Each of the two figures was shown wearing a crown and a helm, Rafael holds a axe and Gustavo a sword in their right hand, and their left hand are raised in a gesture of defiance to the enemies of Dragão do Mar.

The main objective of the recent construction work was to reform the heads and middle fingers of both statues, as the parts were damaged by lightnings. New lightning protector systems were imported and installed, being more efficient than the former. The restoration costed to the public funds $2,1 millions, while $329,5 thousands were donated by Marian and foreign institutions in a campaign. A team of specialists in rappel executed it while the monument was closed for visitations. The reform should guarantee the security of the statues and tourists, as it is a place of heavy visitation, being one of the most important landmarks in Dragão do Mar.

PM Benito Franco requests Emergency power to combat crisis

The Situation on Mario Island is not progressing, As Shock has Executed 20 more Italian-montagnian Civilians, While a Rescue operation was executed in Villa D'aosta, the Port Town in Southern Mario Island, The Town is disconnected from the rest of the Militia Controlled Zones, The Rescue was a master stroke, Special Ops disabled all communication while reserve tanks launched a frontal Assault on the Building, the militia Soldiers were soon Annihilated, and surviving members surrendered to the soldiers. Soldiers fluent in The Ethnic Languages of The Militia then rushed in and Began Manning the Radio Stations, Giving other Militia Troops The illusion that nothing happenned.
Image

In the meantime in Sabazio, Prime minister Benito Franco has requested Emergency power in combating the Crisis on Mario Island. It is speculated what he would do with the power, but it is believed that it will be to begin operations against The Militia and its Shock Allies. However, some Groups warn that he might abuse his power, and do something completely unrelated.

This all Remains to be seen.

Socialist Protesters In Eserton

Image
Protesters outside the Eserton Museum

Today hundreds of socialist protesters marched outside the Eserton government building today closing down multiple roads into the city as people marched and chanted the socialist anthem. There was clearly alot of Samuderan supporters in the protest promoting reactions from the public from all over social media.
"I wish they would stop blocking the bus routes!"

"Don't they have anything better to do?"

We also asked some of the protesters about the issue.
"This cruel government must stop! Raise up!"

"This is important to our future! "

Strong socialist support has been a issue in the Eserai government for a very long time due to the duchy government and influence from Samudera with heavy support raising for the labor party. It is clear that the socialist party won't be elected anytime soon however as the Centrist rule with a iron fist. It's still clearly even despite of this fact it looks like the protest won't stop anytime soon. This is to likely raise tensions between Samudera which has been at a all time low recently.

More soon on Eserton Times.

Commission members congratulating each other shortly before the announcement

After more than five months of meetings and deliberations, the Constitutional Commission established by Chairman of the Central Committee Lev Verdiyev has finally presented its proposed new Party and State Constitutions, a widely touted reform of the political structure in the country and the most pervasive since the term of Comrade Brandon Snow.

Speaking in front of reporters at the Velahi People's Congress, Bakhodir Saidova, the Chairman of the Commission, said that the new constitutions codifies "current best practices and removes provisions which have become obsolete or counterproductive for the progression of the revolution."

"The new constitutions capture the Chairman Verdiyev''s vision of turning the Worker's Party of Velah (WPV) and the government into becoming true and competent representatives of the every day Worker, the every day Comrade, the common Velahi."

Mr. Saidova, who is also the President of the Presidium of the Velahi People's Congress, said that they spent considerable time taking into account the suggestions of local party leaders, and the ordinary citizens, especially those living in the poorer areas of the country.

"We want to make it a point that what we come up with will ensure that the Party is able to function properly, work more professionally and ensure that its leaders and members are held accountable for their actions. We also wanted to do away with the legal loopholes that allowed certain factions to compete, sometimes at the cost of paralyzing the government or dividing our people, just so they can advance their own agenda in the government. Now, hopefully, we will have a party that will be more united, more professional and more capable of leading the state and our armed forces."

The new party constitution contains the same reforms Chairman Verdiyev immediately instituted upon his assumption of office, including returning the previous practice of calling the plenums of the Central Committee twice a year, and giving it more authority. Amongh its many significant changes include the calling of a party congress every 5 years; setting up the composition of the Politburo to 5, 7 or 9 members to be determined by the Central Committee; rearranged the principal administrative and organizational bodies of the party under the Central Committee into 15 departments; and formally providing the title of the party leader as "First Secretary of the Worker's Party of Velah". The First Secretary shall continue to be a member of the Central Committee and through his election by the former, shall serve and chair the Politburo.

The age in order to become a party member was lowered to 17 years of age, while maintaining the rule of satisfying a one year probationary period, including the favorable endorsement of two party members in the locality.

Meanwhile, the state constitution reaffirmed the position of the Velahi People's Congress as the "primary organ of government" and shall be responsible for the appointment of the Premier, three Vice Premiers and the rest of the members of the cabinet. The Presidium of the Velahi People's Congress also retained its power to exercise the duties of the People's Congress during the time it is not in session.

The National Defense Commission was retained as a separate institution, although it is expected to continue being loyal to the Worker's Party of Velah (WPV). This is ensured by the fact that the National Defense Commission continues to be Chaired by the First Secretary of the WPV.

These important changes are just some of the many structural reforms that will brought once the new constitutions are enacted, according to Mr. Saidova. The Chairman has been given a copy of their work on September 1, and has been said to be "very pleased" by the output. The Commission will be presenting their work to the Central Committee on Saturday, in a special meeting called by Chairman Verdiyev. After their approval, it is expected that an unprecedented party congress will be called again, the second one in in 2017.

G4 Commission Admits Michigonia Ahead of First-Round Elections

Arnton- This week, the G4 Commission approved Michigonia's bid for full membership in the Mandurah Accord, or Gael Four Agreement ("G4"). The Michigonian envoy was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Patrick Bradley.

The provisions of full membership include trade liberalisation and prioritisation, open migration between member states, intelligence and security cooperation, and education cooperation.

The treaty must now go before the Federal Chambers, where it must pass the Assembly and Council of States with majority approval. The Federal Council is then expected to vote unanimously in favour, as all seven councillors consented to send the envoy earlier this month.

The legislatures are expected to vote on the Accord this week.

One day ahead of the first round vote in the Federal Council election, Jose Lasó lambasted the agreement, calling it a "raw deal for Calionte workers." Front-runner Santos Machado said at a rally outside of Cortes, "entry to the G4 means more work, more security, and a better life for Calionteans." Machado leads Julie Hernandez of the Liberal Party by 4%.

100 knights, under the venerable command of the Duke of Daalgard, whose grandfather fled from Jaffrah during its war of independence landed behind Montagnian rebel lines in a surprise raid, and effected an ambush on a scouting force of rebels. After eliminating the scouting force, and causing about twenty casualties with none to themselves, they advanced stealthily, and surrounded a hundred militiamen at mess. These rebels, along with a large cache of AK-47s and other supplies, they sent back to San Montagnan lines, presumably by sea. Since then, they have not communicated their whereabouts, though it appears they have continued advancing, as several knights have been wounded and two, Sir Raymund and Sir Wulf, are reported dead. It is not known what, if any, equipment was brought with the knights, and if they will be bringing more soldiers to the field. Willing volunteers are numerous, but some knights are necessary for the defence of their provinces. It is likely, though details remain scarce, that the knights are using a Valenshia-class frigate for support.

Bomber Found

The mysterious bomber, who several months attempted to kill the King, has been found and executed. Under torture he, a certain Walter de Quincy, allegedly confessed allegiance to Baron Fitz-Faulkner, who would likely claim the throne following King Maximilien's death. Fitz-Faulkner vigorously denied such accusations, and both sides are maintaining a strong presence at the border.

Santos Machado, Christian Democrat and Front-Runner in the Federal Council Election

Cortes- Christian Democrat Santos Machado leads an Alland Press exit poll average after the first day of the first round election for Federal Councillor from Calionte.

Trending up is Jose Laso, the Independence Party nominee and outspoken separatist, who is polling in second, but still seven points behind Machado. Liberal Julie Hernandez is one point behind Laso in third, and trending downward.

While not official election results, these exit poll averages are accurate within a 3% margin of error.

Machado spent the day east of Cortes in the suburb of Allia, where he was to hold a rally tonight.

The vote resumes tomorrow, with the results expected by late evening.

The top two winners move on to the general election in November.

|Gran Teran, September 7, 2017|
Good evening citizens, this morning the nation was, for the most part, shocked by the decision made by the court in the case of Bishop Michael vs. San Jimenez. Bishop Michael was charged with the allegation of corruption after an investigation was held by the LPP, Liberal Progressive Party. Today, the court unanimously voted the defendant, Bishop Michael, guilty.

Confederate John Quinn (LPP), candidate for the election in December, stated that the situation was a "convenient blow to the CCP" and that the LPP has created an obvious reason of why the church's power in the country should have more restriction and limitations. He has been known to champion the secular ideology in San Jimenez, an interesting candidate for a president against Canone, who once ruled over a legally theocratic government. Governor of Celena, Susan Luen, has already endorsed the candidate gathering more support in the northern and northwestern areas of the country.

Confederate Quinn has already begun his campaign and it is assumed that Lucas Canone will begin his campaign soon as well, Canone has many obstacles to overcome in Gran Teran if he is expecting to gain the presidency for another six years. We will inform you on the president's response when we have the details, thank you and good night."

Santos Machado celebrates his first-round victory.

Cortes- After the second day of the first-round Federal Council election, Santos Machado and Julie Hernandez have advanced to the general election in November. Hernandez narrowly defeated Jose Laso 27-26%, while Machado led with 34%

Laso kept the race tight all through the campaign, even polling ahead of Hernandez. But the Liberal Party's national popularity, and a few small gaffes by Laso proved the difference.

In his concession speech in Monte Ori, in southern Calionte, Laso pledged to continue his fight for greater autonomy for the state from the "grand overseers" in Alland. He also spoke in favor of a state-wide secession referendum, something which he avoided during the recent campaign.

Hernandez celebrated with supporters in Cortes, at Union Park on a chilly Thursday evening. She promised to "help Calionteans and Michigonians enrich their lives with liberty, prosperity, and justice."

Machado spoke in the ballroom of the Wheaton Hotel in downtown Cortes, praising his supporters and the voters. "Michigonia must step into the future as one nation, we must extend our helping hands as partners with our neighbors, we must see ourselves as leaders in the region to build a better future for our children."

The nation-wide general election is November 8-9.

PEACE IN SHANOWINN!!

"...these months have been hard and shameful. But today and from now on, the proudest thing that I can claim is that I am from Shanowinn..."
--Karolíne Catrín Fáolain

Shanowinn now has more reason to rejoice than ever. News about the closing stage of the conflict was scarce, and difficult to confirm, however there have been significant developments.

First, although the Ahern attempted to hold out in his hometown with some loyal support, the New Owinn Front (NOF) reports that they have arrested him, along with at least a few of his top dignitaries.

This set the stage for the current peace treaty, signed just yesterday. President Tadhg Dúney spoke for the Highland Republic, and Karolíne Catrín Fáolain represented the New Owinn Front. Karolíne Fáolain returned from exile in Athara Magarat to broker the peace deal. Both representatives received each other respectfully and warmly. The signing of the peace treaty occurred yesterday in Termon. Owinns have begun celebrating upon receiving the news, and express feelings of pride and hope. One interviewee claimed "the future is ours [Shanowinn's]--I think we can be proud again." Karolíne Fáolain also said in her statement "these months have been hard and shameful. But today and from now on, the proudest thing that I can claim is that I am from Shanowinn."

The treaty does not specify who shall become the new leader of the country at this time. However, Fáolain has come to the forefront of Owinn politics, and so the former Comsedlon member will undoubtedly be a candidate. Owinn political correspondents are predicting that Shanowinn is on the brink of a massive political shift in the wake of and in reaction to Chulainn NaAchill's Ahernry.

Daring Hostage Rescue Saves Albionite

The Lanercost Times - 8th September 2017
________________________________

Last month, several Albionite backpackers were taken hostage by SOAR terror cells operating in the EUSR.

The militants made several outlandish demands, including the exchange of millions of Staters and the withdrawal of allied troops from numerous locations.

Whilst a diplomatic mission was underway with the EUSR, it has emerged that Albionite intelligence agencies were working around the clock to locate and negotiate for their release.

In a joint-press statement released today by both the Ministry of Defence and the Foreign Office, it emerged that during this period, intelligence surfaced that the hostages were to be moved to a different location and executed.

Making a swift decision, the Prime Minister Robyn O’Presco ordered their rescue 'within moments' when she was briefed.

Three Blackwell Aviation 'VA-12' VTOL troop transport aircraft, carrying a dozen members of Albionite special forces, departed from an Albionite naval vessel and flew below EUSR radar to their target in Northern Bhikkustan.

The aircraft intercepted the militant convoy and, after a brief exchange of fire, successfully extracted the backpackers unharmed.

Despite the loss of one aircraft on their return due to 'external mission parameters', all of the soldiers, airmen and backpackers were returned to the vessel and are now sailing home.

During a brief media blackout, to allow safe extraction of the vessel, the backpackers phoned their relatives home to inform them of their rescue.

Whilst the ship is set to rendezvous with the 1st Albionite Fleet in the Mesder sea in the coming days, a welcoming party for the soldiers and the rescued has already begun.

I am truly proud of what our forces have accomplished,” stated Gregory Pinaker, Shadow Secretary to the Minister of Defence. “Although cooperation with EUSR would have been preferred, we are glad to know the rescue mission was a success.

The Foreign Ministry presented an equally unified response, stating that the course of actions Albion took was a 'consequence of the less-than-acceptable communication skills' of the EUSR administration.

In a later statement by the Prime Minister, O'Presco said that she was 'immensely proud' of the accomplishments made by Albionite forces, thanking everyone involved - from 'the ministers and civil servants in Lancercost' to the 'sailors, pilots and soldiers on the ground'.

Despite the expected frosty response from Bhikkustan and New Aapelistan, its seems that - at least for now - the atmosphere in Albion is one of jubilation and relief.

DOMESTIC: Implementation of curfew at Mandara Airport under debate
Mandara, Ainslie

Following local council meetings and a recent session of the Electoral Council, the issue of whether Mandara Airport should be under a curfew or not has become a question for public officials. In recent years, Mandara has seen a considerable increase in air traffic following increasing promotion of the city by the Federal Government. The city of 1.5 million however, has been increasingly aware of aircraft noise over its city and has called on officials to act.

The main option available to Mandara (also known as Mandurah) is an airport curfew, although some stakeholders have voiced their concerns over this matter. The prospected curfew would be in force from 11pm-6am, similar to the current curfews at Arnton's two airports. Kenaris gave a statement today in an effort to discourage the government from implementing one.

Mandara is a tourist attraction and this decision would only hurt the city. We and the city will be better off without a curfew at all in order to remain competitive with other airports in tourist areas.
- Chief of Airline Operations, Kenaris Domestic

Leederville and Rathane would seek to profit from this arrangement as well as various cities in Samudera, who stand as competition for Mandara. Tourists are quite likely to choose these cities over Mandara if a curfew were to arise, significantly harming the local economy. Despite this, the noise has reached a point that a curfew is necessary in order to improve the quality of life for Mandarans. The airport is significantly close to residential areas, meaning that planes fly at low altitudes in the middle of the night and in the early morning whilst residents are sleeping. The people have called for the issue to be debated, so now we await for the Dallaman Council to reach a verdict. More updates to come.
