The Al-Yashir Prohpet

Al-Yashir performs war games

In a show of military force, Our Great Overseer, Ali Ghannam has ordered an immediate war game to show the entire World our military power. As Overseer Ghannam watched with binoculars from an outpost, tanks, motorised vechiles and troops performed elaborate tactics and movements. One of the war trials was especially interesting, a mock version of the San Jimenez Parliament was constructed and our very smart witted defence forces stormed the building and took all hostages within the time of several minutes. This was not all, bombing runs by our aircraft were made on classical San Jimenezian cathedrals, all which were mock versions of the real ones. The People's Protection Ministry of Al-Yashir cheered along as they watched footage of these churches crashing to the ground, after being pelleted by explosive bombs. Clapping from his position, Overseer Ghannam said that 'Al-Yashir's military can and will burn San Jimenez to the ground', and that 'All capitalist infidels in San Jimenez must fear our mighty rage'.

Defense Minister Sula arrives in Ainslie

Image
Covonantian Embassy, Arnton

Minister of Defense Batiatus Sula has arrived in Arnton, Ainslie for a 3 days visit to the country. The Covonantian government is expected to increase the number of bases it has around the region by the end of this week after talks between the Ahnslen government and Minister Sula have convened and agreements signed. The visit of Minister Sula to Ainslie comes about amidst looming conflict in the region as many countries prepare for war which Minister Sula have expressed as "asinine". The Minister arrived in Ainslie around 9:15 Covonantian time where he was greeted by Covonantian Ambassador to Ainslie Senica Lekis. The first stop for the Defense Minister was at the Covonantian Embassy in Arnton where the Minister expressed gratitude for the work carried out by those in the Covonantian diplomatic corp.

Image

I am honoured to be in a room filled with patriotic Covonantians who have done so much to carry out the diplomatic work and representing Covonant in foreign countries such as Ainslie. I know it must be hard being away from home, your friends and loved ones but I send a message from Covonant that your work is appreciated. I know I am Minister of Defense and not Foreign Affairs so when I see the work carried out by the Covonantian Diplomatic corp,it really hits me that you guys do a lot, and I know its not easy especially in the nature of our region and the instability and being unsure of what will occur next, but you all are special and the work you do are special

Minister Sula also used the opportunity to speak on the Rooenan/San Jimenez conflict where he expressed that the Covonantian armed forces are well equipped and ready to lend support in the event San Jimenez is targeted.

I know the international community and Covonatians want to know militarily what is our position. I know Minister Vesa spoke to the Rooenanians yesterday and expressed that we do not want a conflict. And he is in his right to state that. As Defense Minister however, I can express that our military is well capable and equipped to lending needed support to San Jimenez. We are hopeful that a peace agreement will be signed but if not we are ready.

The Minister will be a guest on the Ahnslen nightly programme Querren later this evening which Covonantians can watch on Arendai.

Minister Sula will be meeting Ahnslen governmental officials on Thursday to discuss Covonant's base agreement. The CBC will be sure to keep you up-to-date with the developments.

Al-Yashir Overseer to visit Covonant

In what some are calling a unorthodox visit, the Protocol's Department has announced that the Overseer of Al-Yashir Ali Ghannam will be visiting Covonant tomorrow for a two day visit. Speaking with the director of the Protocol's Department, Gregory Mair, he expressed that the visit had been planned in advanced for over a week.

This is not a rushed visit, it had been planned for roughly a week now. It is not a state visit as the Overseer will not be received by the Prime Minister nor the President but will be received by the Foreign Minister

Mr. Mair noted that the visit will be merely diplomatic and showcases Covonant's will to coexist peacefully with states of differing ideologies.

This visit will stand as a true testament to Covonant's ability and will to cooperate and coexist with states that have different views and ideologies. On the agenda expected to be discussed will be the conflict concerning Rooenan and San Jimenez as well as Covonant's relation with the Communist world and the extent of Covonantian foreign policies concerning communist states

Image

Many in Covonant have not been too accepting of the news, already thousands have came out on the street protesting the decision to host the visit. Many are calling the government cowards for dealing with Communist nations. To make matters worst it was reported yesterday that Al-Yashir has thrown full support behind Rooenan and have went so far in expressing support to having displayed a mock event of the burning of classical San Jimenez cathedral. The event was also attended by Al-Yashir overseer Ali Ghannam. No one in the Covonantian government have condemned the act but many are watching to see if it will be discussed during the visit.

On the streets of Coventry many came out to show opposition to the visit.

This visit is an insult to San Jimenez and Covonantian allies. This should have never even been contemplated
-Jenina, Coventry Resident

I am anxiously awaiting July 3rd when I can vote out this government. They don't know what they stand for
-Mishka, Coventry Resident

I have decided to come out and protest because I feel angered that the government would be mad to allow those Communist dogs to come here. We are sending a message to them that we don't want them here.
-Cimantha, Coventry Resident

Opposition Leader Crassus Gais has blasted the move as disgraceful. He is calling on Covonantians to vote out the DPC government has they have shown to lack leadership.

Image

How disgraceful it is for Covonant to host the leader of a Communist state. This has never happened in our history, but leave it to the DPC to be so liberal that they would probably give a government post if possible to a dog seeing they believe in full rights and equality. Its madness. The Most honourable Prime Minister has been silent, sipping champagne and eating cake over in Noronica, while his Foreign Minister who has been left in charge of the government is kissing everyone's A$$. This madness would have never happened if my party was in government. I would tell that Communist idiot to shove it.

Mr. Gais expressed that he is dishearten at the state of his country, and the weak image the DPC have portrayed to the region.

This government does not have the backbone fit to lead. Its like they are afraid, they haven't even used some show of force to let the Isles know we are serious. We talk too much...too much diplomacy. I want action. And I would be very surprised if this government gave me that.

The CBC will be sure to bring updates of the visit by the Al-Yashir Overseer tomorrow. Do REMEMBER THIS IS THE CBC

FOREIGN MINISTER WILL VISIT AINSLIE TOMORROW ON EMERGENCY MEETING

Image
Foreign Minister Cahyadi Kunakara

BHINNEKA, Antana News Agency - Foreign Minister announced the visit to Ainslie tomorrow. The visit will cover the emergency meeting held in Ainslie, and will be attended by Samudera, Ainslie, and Siberia North with their respective representatives. Government official statement says that they will discuss about the heating tensions in the north and their action. "Anything other than that will be discussed on the meeting later on", says Cahyadi en route to Bagas Pelangikasih Airport. He also said that the visit will aimed to strengthen the relations with both countries.

Since the increasing tension in San Jimenez in May 21st, the government haven't released any official statement regarding this. The president itself is still surveying various government project, notably the Ofkosi Rail project. The press isn't allowed to talk to the President during the time, but the reaction about the prospect of war is widespread across the country. Opposition leader Kristova Jumhari, said that they won't agree on any prospect of entering the war. Public opinion is divided, Antana conducted a poll regarding the war and here is the result :

What should the government actually do regarding the war on San Jimenez?
  • Support Roeenan - 34,56%
  • Support San Jimenez - 32,98%
  • Neutral - 31,48%
  • Didn't answer - 0,98%
Margin of Error : 2,5%

Until tomorrow, the official government stance is still in limbo. However, seeing the poll result it appears that public is really divided regarding this matter, and whatever the government stance, it will cause some disappointment, for sure.

President Katirni Makes First Appearance in 14 Months After Conspiracy Claims Surface
Image
President Katirni in 2012

Earlier today, The Esteemed President Katirni made his first statement in a little over a year. In it, he addressed political strife, the Black Fog, and the rise of the Opposition Party which, by law, was allowed to release its name to the public as well as a list of members today. After calling together a special press conference, he took to the podium with his Secretaries in one of his rare but usually stirring statements.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Citizens of Ventlimer," he had said in a raspy and winded tone, "over the last week, our great nation has been under severe and trying stress. Our cities were blanketed in a poison gas that is said to be of our own making. They in Coventry say that we caused this terrible disaster and demand that we change under the threat of sanction! Well, my people, I come to say that this is simply untrue. Between the 'documentary' they released weeks ago and this downright lie of a piece now circulating papers across Xovenat is clear evidence of a full blooded attempt by the Prime Minister of Covonant to shame and destroy the name of Ventlimer so that our socialists may be elected."

At this point, The Secretary of State had let his mouth hang open for a moment before hurriedly tapping on his phone. However, Katirni continued.

"These socialists will destroy all that it means to be Taurot and Ventlimian! They will allow our races to be mixed and muddied with the filth of the non-taurots! They will destroy our economy which I have worked so hard to build with a single Environmental Blow! They will see us diplomatically isolated and destroyed."

After his statement, President Katirni did not comment.

Shortly afterwards, Bulnir Aslat, who announced today that his party "The Socialist Freedom Party" controlled enough of congress to win a majority on June 25th, called the statement "Outrageously dumb" and "something he would expect Mr. Gais of Covonant to say."

"What we just witnessed is a president who's health is failing and mind is wandering. We can only pray that our Secretary of State has made the calls to Covonant to assure them that this will not stand in the Presidential Palace! This deserves an immediate addressing of the President's health."

According to Ventliri law, if the President is deemed to be unfit for office due to health reasons, the opposition party may demand an early election. While this has only occurred once in Ventlimian history, the remarks made by the President today may cause such an election to occur.

Mr. Aslat wholeheartedly believed so. "This is a time of diplomatic, environmental, and economic crisis! Yet we have a government with a sick man at the head, a lair in the Public Affairs department, and a corrupt, fact hiding machine at their disposal! This cannot stand and it all must change!"

Meanwhile, the Presidential Palace put out a quick statement making the assertion that the President was as healthy as ever and not in need of any attention. However, it has been whispered that members of congress are already preparing to issue a subpoena of the president's health records for the last five years. If this comes to pass, Congress may bypass the early election and simply name an interim for the remainder of his term.

GOTOR LAUNCHED IN 3 CITY

Image
GoTor Application Interface

Sripura, Antana News Agency - GoTor, the new online platform for motorcycle taxi, expand into 3 cities and most notably Sripura, the last State capital to be covered by GoTor services. They also expand into Muntok and Sailendra in the Tanjung State. Therefore, the curious and mobile people that lived on that three cities, finally they can order via GoTor app to surf between the busy and jammed street in the busy hour. This is one of the last expansion of GoTor into the entire Samudera, that left the insular islands in the list.

Been launched since August 2016, the GoTor offered a brand new way to order motor throughout the city, from anywhere to everywhere. A huge fleet that consisted of almost 200 thousands drivers. The improving public transportation across the country is deemed insufficient for most of the people. The metro, bus, and train didn't provide the user point-to-point transportation. Thus, GoTor took advantage on the public demands for fast, efficient, cheap, reliable transportation. GoTor expand really fast since their first trial on Hakanto city, and since then opened their service on Bhinneka, Sripura, Gandaria and other big cities. They also planned to cover the rural areas, and escpecially the tourism destiny such as Selayar. Hopefully with the expansion of GoTor, the transportation in this country will improve and brings government to realize that they need to do so, because currently it's in such a poor state.

May 24, 2017 | Fortaleza, Dragão do Mar

Protests against the involvement of Dragão do Mar in regional conflicts occurred in Fortaleza, leftists vandals turned it into a revolt in support of Rooenan and the SLSJ

Image

This Wednesday, 24, was marked by manifestations in the capital of Dragão do Mar, Fortaleza. The movement was named "Marcha Pela Paz", portuguese for "March For Peace". It was organized by labor unions and social movements, its announced purpose was to show to the government the disapproval of the population to the engagement of the country in the international conflict generated by mutual disagreements between San Jimenez and Rooenan.

It started at 1:00 pm, according to the municipal guard of Fortaleza, as a pacific protest in front of the Ministries' Square, where are located the headquarters of the Marian ministries. But, due to high violence of the protesters aligned with labor unions, it was necessary to call the Military Police. The conflicts started by 3:10 pm, when the municipal guards tried to stop the burning of tires by leftist protesters. At 3:20 pm they regrouped, throw rocks and attacked municipal guards with wooden and iron batons. When the guards called the Military Police.

The Military Police attempt to stop the depredation of public patrimony with tear gas bombs and rubber bullets, but this only enraged the vandals, that were shouting of "Long live to Rooenan!" and "Let the SLSJ free!".

At one point they reach the entrance of the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that is located in the Ministries Square. It was invaded and attacked with Molotov Cocktails, that burned entirely the main hall of the building. The evacuation of the ministers and their offices was ordered for all the ministries' headquarter buildings. The Marian Royal Army was designated, which sent battalions of motorized infantry and soldiers, that only could control the situation at 4:40 pm, 1 hour and 40 minutes after the principle of the conflict. 84 persons were arrested.

Members of social movements and human rights condemned the action of the defense forces of Dragão do Mar, and counted 2 deaths and 47 persons with injuries.

The Marian minister of defense, Mrs. Marina Cristiane, have made an announcement:

"Taking in consideration that the protest was planned to be pacific and with other purposes, the Military Police and the Marian Royal Army were contacted to do what defense corporations should do; to repress actions of violence, vandalism, disrespect, the damaging of public patrimony and the aggression of common citizens that are the municipal guard of Fortaleza. Our security institutions only acted to maintain the values of our constitution, that order they to guaranty the law and order"

Citizens Take To Streets After The Events in Al-Yashir and Dragão do Mar

Image

Earlier this week, the government of Al-Yashir conducted war games depicting the invasion of the communists on San Jimenez. The event aroused much anger amongst the citizens of San Jimenez when bomb raids were made against mock versions of San Jimenez Cathedrals. Many people are enlisting in Air Force militias to take part in the defense of the island. The federal government condemned the event and have readied airfields across the nation in the event of an attack. Countless protests have been organized on the event by Al-Yashir in Gran Teran. These were some statements made by some citizens:

"I believe the government needs to take action against the hostile communists governments that threaten our nation. They have shown they intend not only to relive the SLSJ terrorists but also to completely eradicate our way of life. We need to take action and fast!"
-Protester in Gran Teran

"I was appalled by the declaration of war by the government at the time it took place. But when I saw footage of the communists cheering and applauding the destruction of mock versions of churches, I had a accurate idea of why they issued such a declaration. The hostile communists do not intend to keep peace but destroy it where it exists. I wake up every Sunday to go to church and no person will ever keep me from doing just that. I think it's time for San Jimenez to wake up and take action against this horrific event."
-Local Librarian

Today, protests became violent in Dragão Do Mar as extreme "leftists vandals turned it into a revolt in support of Rooenan". Citizens are praising Dragão do Mar for the action taken against these extremists. Many are calling for solidarity with the government of Dragão do Mar because of its recent support of San Jimenez. "They have been fully supportive of San Jimenez in many events so we must be supportive of them as well" said a representative from Malaci. "It is tragic that such events occurred in that nation. We must stand strong with Dragão do Mar and stand strong against the communist extremists that plague both of our nations." People have also included the waving of the Dragão do Mar Banner as well as the San Jimenez banner in the protests against the communist aggression shown. "It is so rightly being projected by these protests that the democratic people of Dragão do Mar are heroes and Al-Yashir is the projection of Satan himself" said a bystander of the Gran Teran protests.

Kateb, Al-Yashir

The Al-Yashir Prophet

Overseer arrives at Covonant

Overseer Ali Ghannam of our great nation of Al-Yashir has arrived in Covonant ahead of an offical state meeting. Touching down from Kateb, he landed in the Covonantian Capital along with his entourage of personal guards and poltical analysts. Stepping out of the jet, our Brotherly Leader waved to the gathered crowds of the native people. Ghannam plans to meet with the Foreign Affairs Minister, however after the recent outburst by a portion of the Covnantian people, Overseer said this to local media:

"Silly people. Those who oppose me and my nation are wrong, they call us communists, do you believe this offends us? I will let these sheep blurt their baseless corporate propaganda that their media broadcasters tell to them. There are no protestors in Al-Yashir, that's because we all love the nation. None of this matters, I will be speaking with the Foreign Affairs Minister, not with the foolish 'Opposition Leader', the 'Opposition Leader' is a disagrace to Allah's people.'

Foreign Minister meets Overseer Ali Ghannam of Al-Yashir

Coventry, Covonant

Image

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Tilonius Vesa hosted the visit of the Al-Yashir Overseer Ali Ghannam at the Ministry's headquarter in Coventry. The visit comes amidst international uncertainty concerning conflicts between Rooenan and San Jimenez. The Minister in welcoming the Al-Yashir Overseer expressed Covonant's willingness to meet with those with opposing views to try to find a common understanding. Minister Vesa expressed that Covonant will work with Communistic states to bring them to the side of goodwill.

Image

Covonant today welcomes the Overseer of Al-Yashir. We are using this visit as an opportunity to show the isles that as a country we are not xenophobic towards other whose views are different from ours but serve to find that similar theme in both of us that we can establish in working to coexist peacefully.

Minister Vesa in his welcome address reiterated Covonant's position on the conflict and pledge that the Union will work at its hardest to reduce the tensions between both states.

Covonant undoubtedly supports our ally San Jimenez, but while we support San Jimenez we are not supportive of this incident becoming a large scale war. Covonant and our allies have done our best in ensuring that peace remains in the Isles and we will continue on that path

In what many are considering a show of power, the Foreign Minister condemned the events displayed in Al-Yashir a few days ago and implored that the Al-Yashir Overseer and government use their role in having the communist world to seek a peaceful path as well.

The Covonantian government and people and peoples of liberal democratic states around the region, condemns the actions that took place in Al-Yashir with the burning of church replicas as a show of mocking an ally of Covonant. The actions portray a wrong message to other states and should be viewed as an embarrassment especially when countries are trying to find a peaceful route to the conflict. With the presence of the Al-Yashir Overseer, I would implore for you and your government to use your role as members of the communist world and good relations with Rooenan and other communist states to find a peaceful solution to the conflict. Promoting war is never good especially when it involves major powers that could cause widespread damage and death. Covonant will do everything in our power to ensure it does not come to that.

The visit of the Al-Yashir Overseer is expected to end later tonight. There were however many protest near the Foreign Affairs Ministry with the Coventry Metropolitan High Command being present to ensure that protocols for protest are maintained.

With the visit of the Al-Yashir Overseer almost all government officials were present but no one from the Opposition. The CBC caught up with the Opposition Leader Crassus Gais who called the event a disgrace.

Image

Why must we attend. We do not support Communist countries, and we certainly would not shake hands with the devil. Covonant is sending a chilling message to our allies when we allow communist countries to visit our senior government officials. I will not take any part in it

Political commentator Mikael Stokes is however dismissing the Opposition leader's remark as childish.

It baffles me of how one-sided and close-minded the Opposition Leader can be at times. What the government is doing is trying to play the diplomatic cards right. Covonantian leadership is needed to calm the tides not to irritate the situation that could blow any minute. I believe the government is being sensitive towards regional affairs and are staying the course carefully. They know that their response is being observed and scrutinized locally and regionally. And how they play this card may affect them come election day and I think it is something etched in the minds of the DPC.

Defense Minister meets with Ahnslen government, signs base agreement

Arnton, Ainslie

Image

The Minister of Defense Batiatus Sula on his visit to Ainslie a short while ago met with Ahnslen government officials for the official signing of the Covonant/Ainslie Base Agreement. The Union of Covonant and The Unified Electorate of Ainslie have agreed to Covonant establishing a base in the south of the country in Rathane. Minister Sula after signing the agreement called the event a show of solidarity and Covonant's will to play an active role in maintaining peace around the region.

Covonant has a rich historical tradition of wanting to live in a world that is stable and peaceful as we have come to know that it is only then do societies and civilizations flourish. With our intent of establishing a presence in the Gael area marks only but a true testament to that cause which we have valiantly undertaken.

The Defense Minister expressed the move should not be viewed as Covonant's will to dominate but rather cooperate.

I must state that our will to establish our presence around the Isles must not be a move mistaken of Covonant wanting to dominate, rather it must be viewed as Covonant's will and pursuit to cooperate. To lend meaningful support to our regional partners and allies especially those in the Gael area whom Covonant enjoys mutual respect and partnership with. We hope from this venture it would lead to even greater cooperation and an increase in Covonant's role in spreading the doctrine of peace and stability. We hope with this move it can instill in the Gael area the solidifying of our liberal and democratic values that have made our nations and societies flourish. We also hope that with this agreement we can have the containment of the Communist world and use our influence to bring them to a path of good.

Many in Covonant are criticizing the move, with some calling it Covonant's interference in sub-regional affairs. Opposition Spokeman on Defense Nicholis Senoa expressed that Covonant is becoming too entangled in regional affairs.

We have ensured that our presence around the Isles covers the entire region. No other state in the region has made that a policy or a foreign policy. I believe it sets us up for having problems come up at our doorstep. I am not in favour of all these bases that we have established. Are our investments in these bases wise and good. What have we gotten to show for these bases. We are so quick to defend a foreign territory and we can't defend our own country from terrorism. That to me is a failed policy. We are becoming too involved in regional affairs and less focused on our domestic issues.

The Covonantian/Ainslie Base Agreement will see the Covonantian government leasing Ahnslen land for the establishing of a Naval base in the country. The timeline for construction of the base has not been disclosed.

Prime Minister Marl reacts to Ventlimian allegation of government involvement in election

Port Sinare, Noronica

Image

The Prime Minister who is currently on a diplomatic trip to Noronica representing Covonant at the annual Cooperative Union Leaders Summit, took a few moments off to address allegations of his administration involvement in trying to influence the outcome of the Ventlimian elections due to occur on June 25. Prime Minister Marl denounced the allegations calling them "ridiculous"

I am shocked to having heard my counterpart in Ventlimer a neighbour of Covonant express that the Covonantian government which I lead is meddling in the internal affairs of the country's political system, with what he describes as an attempt to influence the election results of the country. I say unequivocally that that is plain ridiculous. Covonant respects all states sovereignty and would be foolish to try to interfere in the political operatives of a foreign state

Such allegations however are not being taken lightly by the Opposition who is calling for the Federal Institute for Criminal Affairs (FICA) and the Intelligence Data Centre (IDC) to investigate the allegation. Opposition Spokeswoman on Justice and Criminal Affairs Elliene Davison expressed that the opposition would not sit idle by while such allegations are being made. She has called for the Consul to intervene with ordering the country's intelligence and investigation agencies investigate the matter.

These are serious allegations being made by a foreign state and we as the opposition have to be mindful of these allegation. We will be taking a petition to the Consul to have those allegations investigated jointly by FICA and the IDC. We need to know how true those allegations are if true at all.

There is no stipulation under Covonantian law preventing the Covonantian government from interfering in the political affairs of a foreign country. Many however are expressing this incident may lead to a debate with some already calling for stipulations to be made.

Do REMEMBER THIS IS THE CBC.

Highlanders Defy Lowland Advances Towards Mór Mountain

Image
A soldier of the Mór Mountain Guards watches for lowland invaders.

Highlanders are working against the present Ahernric assault, also known as the Mór Mountain campaign. It appears that the lowlanders are attempting to secure the region of our great mountain. They shall see how much of a mistake it is.

Many of our good people have already rallied against the invasion in the past, and against the current campaign, however still more are joining the fighting around Mór Mountain. Perhaps the most notable organization of defenders in the region is the aptly named Mór Mountain Guards. Using their knowledge of the area and experience from hunting all around the great mountain, they are proving to be a hefty thorn in the Owinn Army's side.

The Royal Owinn Army's campaign began several days ago then they started to push further south out of the captured Highland city of Damhford. The Ahernric tyrant Chulainn NaAchill has boasted about the campaign, but determined resistance from the Mór Mountain Guards and others is already making for a slow advance. As it is, the Mór Mountain Guards are already gaining recognition across the Highlands and will surely go down as tenacious heroes like the Ossigh Brigade in the Damhford campaign, and the Owinnorse Highland Regiment, both of which continue to fight for our freedom.

The fighting has proven to be fierce in several engagements of varying size. The President of the Highland Republic, Tadhg Dúney, urged his forces in the region to continue to fight hard. President Torres Commits Neutrality, Calionte Diverges

Alland- Speaking in front of international business leaders at the Economic Club of Grottingon on Thursday, President Carlos Torres urged a peaceful resolution to the Rooenan- San Jimenez conflict, and extended Michigonia's offer to broker such a resolution. The President also affirmed Michigonia's historic stance of non-intervention, and reiterated the government's commitment to neutrality in the ongoing conflict.

The President's remarks were met with dissent by a majority in the Calionte state legislature, which passed a resolution this afternoon to "officially support the sovereignty of the nation of San Jimenez, and to condemn the violent aggression in support of terror groups by the government of Rooenan." The Spanish-speaking state has pressed the Michigonian confederate government to take a firmer stance in support of San Jimenez, particularly after Michigonia was recently admitted to the Association of Luso-Hispanic Nations.

A spokesperson for the Calionte Governor's office could not comment whether further steps would be taken in support of San Jimenez, but did confirm that any vessels of Rooenan or its allies would be denied harbor in any of Calionte's ports. Some have questioned the constitutionality of such a proclamation, as the Michigonian constitution prohibits any state from declaring war apart from the confederate government, but President Torres' Press Secretary Wendy Looma said a lawsuit was unlikely at the moment.

Querren Edition

Querren: Northern Tensions
Wagstaffe, Ainslie

Querren on Tuesday night featured the Deputy Prime Minister of Siberia North, the Head of State of Ainslie and the Defence Minister of Covonant. The debate around tensions in the northern seas of the Isles dominated the discussion, with the intended topic being Rationalism vs Reactionism. Querren was happening out of Wagstaffe, a city based near a floodplain, and a bastion of advocates for common sense Ahnslen politics.

The hosts and producers of Querren knew that the world would be watching this program, and thus, the standard reactionary liberal rhetoric was removed and each group of society appeared to be represented proportionally. Many media commentators hope that this is a precedent that will continue.

This episode was destined to be a good one, with the two major sides of a potential war being at one panel. The questions about the incident begun quickly, and barely stopped. Here are some of the most interesting questions posed to the guests by the audience.

Q: This is to the Defence Minister of Covonant. Is your visit a sign of closer relations with Ainslie, and if so, will we begin to see more Covonantian influence in Gael?

C: Covonant has always had an interest in having a presence in Gael. We have maintained very close relations with Ostehaar and Noronica, and with Agadar as well. We see Ainslie as an ally and friend of Covonant and with Ainslie joining the Cooperative Union, we saw it as a nation that we wanted to forge a closer relations to. We saw that evident with the state visit of Prime Minister Kenzai to Covonant which saw discussions relating to closer relations expressed so my visit to Ainslie is to foster closer relations. As I said earlier that Covonant has maintained close relations with most areas in Gael and with our new relation with Ainslie there will be more Covonantian presence in the sub-region and by extension more Covonantian influence shall arise as well.

Q: To the Mr Shirazi, do you believe that Covonantian influence is good for the region?
A: Well, we see Covonant as a nation which is surprisingly similar to us when factoring in its distance. I believe that a counterbalance to the more imperialist forces in the region can never be a bad thing.

Q: Hi, I would like to know how the condemning of peace talks works, and most importantly, why this was done.

C: Well firstly condemnation of peace talks by countries in the region and more so communistic states is a threat to the peace and stability of the region. For a country to condemn the peaceful route of solving a conflict or crisis is really saying to the international community from that state that they don’t value the art of diplomacy and they are not for peace. I personally can’t say why it was done, what I can assume is that such states believe that it portrays them as weak and prevents them from exercising what goals they may have wanted to, but for me seeking a peaceful route at an issue shows that you are willing to cooperate and to have peace reigns.

Siberia: While I do agree that condemning peace talks is a threat to the peace and stability of this region, the peace talks never benfit the commies side of view! The peace talks between SanJ and Ronnea has failed. Another one will make the whole thing worst.

Q: Does the condemning of peace talks damage international credibility?

C: I don’t see it damaging international credibility, more so than it damages the credibility of a state. They are many countries in the region that supports a peace initiative taken. So internationally there is great support for peace, a few states however don’t understand the value of peace and so condemns it. That speaks loud of the character of the leaders and nation. Those are the country that will have a hard time with Covonant as we will not tolerate their antagonistic views that threatens peace.

Q: On the note of the peace talks, what shall we expect from them?

C: I don’t want to speak too quickly on that matter. I am hopeful that a peaceful solution will arise. Covonant has been trying very hard to have both sides deal with the conflict amicably. Only time will tell if it is a success or not.

Q: How, if we can, bridge the divide between capitalists and communists and forge meaningful change and foster international cooperation between these nations?

C: We first have to appreciate our difference and understand that our politics and ideologies are different but should not focus moreso on the difference but what makes us similar and unique. I personally believe that Communist state do not want to be in constant fighting with democratic states, nor do democratic states want to constantly be at odds with communist states, so we want peace, we want to co-exist and cooperate within the international system and the Isles. But some states are somewhat egoistic and it makes it hard to reach out to those states that are prized on being loud but are saying nothing of worth. But the divide can be mended by mutual respect and understanding of each other's differences and not making it so much of an issue.

Sibera: If the capitalists ever want to befriend commies they need to stop having such powerful alliances. Alliances like MSTO forces communists nations to build a military to prevent invasion! This has been the case for a long time!

Q: Is Siberia North a nation which is reactionary and adverse in its nature, if so, to what extent would Siberia North go to in order to protect its’ interests?

C: I think all states have a limit to how far they will go in whatever they are pursuing. At some point that state would have to ask, is it necessary for me to put my people at risk for political cause? I think at times they are reactionary without making proper assessment of what the ends may do to them, but being reactive doesn’t mean they are foolish. They know exactly what they are doing and why they are doing it, The question is how far are they willing to take it. I personally don’t think they have that much leverage within the region to take it too far, at some point realism kicks in and they realise that it would be hard to pursue or “protect” its interest as it may be conflictual.

Suniteri Militia Naval Forces Commissions Record Number of Ships
Suniteri National Journal

Serwana- In response to increasing tensions in the region involving San Jimenez and Rooenan, the Suniteri Militia Navy commissioned twenty-four new PT boats, effectively doubling the fleet's roster, on Monday. Among the ship's commissioned were four boats of a new design. The V1-class Heavy PT Boats are the second largest combat ship class in the Suniteri Militia Navy, displacing roughly seven hundred fifty tons apiece. The only combat ship that is larger is the FSSS Firefly, the lone Firefly-class Patrol Boat Leader/Frigate and flagship of the Suniteri fleet, which displaces about a thousand tons. Each V1 is armed with eight torpedo tubes, two seventy-five millimeter guns, a forward-set ten centimeter rifle, an antisubmarine mortar launcher, and depth charge rails. All other statistics about the ships are classified at press time. The other ships that were commissioned were five three hundred ton L3-class PT Boats, a quartet of two hundred fifty ton A2-class Submarine Hunters, six five hundred ton T3-class Long Range PT Boats, seven one hundred ton C2-class Costal Defense PT Boats, and two three hundred fifty ton B2-class PT Boats.

At the commissioning ceremony, President Ariel Klein issued an official statement on the international situation.

"My friends, as we stand here today to bring into service these vessels of war, we must remember that the region is beginning to go to war. I know that many of you are concerned about our forces. I agree. We are not a major military power. As such, my standing orders to all active-duty and reserve members of the Suniteri Militia is as such; no member of the Suniteri Militia will participate in any offensive combat actions. I will not willingly throw my country into a devastating war without reason. Many of us have seen the horrors of war firsthand. However, if we are attacked, we will, without a doubt, defend ourselves to the best of our abilities."

Snow expected as unusually cold weather hits Wesland
Arnton, Ainslie

As Spring ends and summer begins, a cold front is expected to hit the electorate of Wesland before moving into the south of the nation. Unlike its northern neighbour, Wesland will experience unusually cold conditions as a result of this front, which will move in the middle of Sunday in Ainslie. Ski resorts along the Wesland Ranges are expected to receive snowfall, with Apollo Pass, Kingsford and Kenarin all beginning to redeploy their snow guns in preparation for the front. These resorts are expected to get between 10-20cm of snow from this front.

“This front was mostly unexpected, but if you’re free starta next week or perhaps on Sunday jump down to Apollo Pass. I am pleased to say we are going to be fully prepared for this front coming through.”
Tony Cenaris, Apollo Pass Management

Regional Airlines, particularly ArnAir Regional have accepted requests from ski resorts to increase services to Wesland Ranges Airport on Saturday, Sunday and Monday is an effort to entice visitors. These flights will leave Rathane, Wagstaffe, Arnton and Hauton.

“We recognise that demand may increase, and thus we have scheduled more flights”
John Cavara, ArnAir Regional Management

Whilst back in Arnton, it will struggle to pass 20 until Thursday, Apollo Pass is expected to reach -10 overnight on Sunday.

GOTOR enters Ainslie
Hauton, Ainslie

With a month long trial underway in Hauton, a popular service called ‘GOTOR’ is being introduced into the Ahnslen market. This is the first time that the widespread culture of carpooling will be commercialised, as GOTOR seeks to formalise the carpooling process in Ainslie. GOTOR originates in Samudera, where most recently three more cities have subscribed onto the service.

Covonant establishes naval base in Rathane
Rathane, Ainslie
The once quiet town of Rathane today has welcomed a new naval base, the first foreign one in Ahnslen history, following a change in legislation. Covonant is a CU member-state and a close ally of Ainslie, and this base is expected to relax their Southern Sea bases as a base establishes itself in Gael. Following tensions between Rooenan and San Jimenez, this base will now allow Covonant to rapidly respond to incidents, with Ahnslen support.

New Des Moines Shooting perpetrator caught!
Late at night yesterday, the man behind the fatal Hindu temple shooting, was caught and subsequently arrested at Waters-Laaksonen International Airport, trying to flee to Ainslie. CCTV footage filmed outside of the temple allowed police to identify him as Wolfgang Murphy, a 24 year old notorious member of the white supremacy group 'Whites Rise'. Murphy is set to be deported to Ainslie, where they will have a large court case about him.

It is unknown whether Wolfgang was plotting an attack in Ainslie, but many people theorise that he was.

Many citizens have applauded the WSPD's capture of Wolfgang, and citizens have also gone to the streets to protest against and to root for the racist group 'Whites Rise'.

President Institutes Travel Ban on Atnaia, Requires Recent Travelers to be Screened for Ticking Flu
Image

is escorted to a nearby hospital

In a press conference, a spokesman for the President's office said that all visas given to Atnaians excepting those of importance were rescinded in a statement regarding the aggressive Ticking Flu epidemic taking hold in Atnaia.

"The President has just signed an executive order," he said to reporters, "to rescind all visas to and from Atnaia. Atnaian citizens will be required to enter a screening process before departing the nation aboard an approved flight. If you have traveled to any affected nation, the authorities will contact you shortly to schedule an appointment for screening."

When asked what prompted the order within two weeks of the election and only 2 days from the debate, the spokesman simply said that the President had been reviewing the option for "Some time now" and that the decision "was not taken lightly." However, he confirmed that there were yet no known cases of the Ticking Flu in Ventlimer.

Congress members mostly came out in favor of the order in a rare sign of support for the President.

"The president made a wise choice in this," said one senator who faces election on the 13th. "We are seeing lock downs, checkpoints, and overly authoritarian options becoming necessary in one of the most secure nations in the world since 2015. We cannot allow that to happen here where we do not have the resources to deploy such draconian methods."

Socialist Freedom Party leader Aslat said that "the options open to the President have been open since the Ticking Flu began. We would have no need to enforce these procedures if he had taken steps to begin with. However," he continued without prompt, "the spokesperson's answer regarding why these measures were needed brings to light a serious problem in our nation regarding healthcare. Everyday, we see the old suffering from lack of care, young mothers attempting birth at home and sometimes dying during the process because they don't have the money to pay a doctor for help, and we see young, working men forced to endure untreated injuries in mines and factories that would not be tolerated elsewhere in the world. During the Black Fogs, every hospital ran short of needed material, didn't have enough doctors or nurses, and had no power at times due to a lack of a back up system," he said. "We need to think about health in this country and we need to do it now lest thousands die and millions suffer for the negligence."

Opposition Rises in Polls, Trailing Katirni by One Point

After a tumultuous week, President Katirini is facing losses in the polls. Between comments made towards Covonant regarding the Black Fog and the cover up of the actual events that took place, the actions and words of his cabinet, and various factors such as the deepening recession and the rising unemployment resulting from Katirini's debt repayment plans, President Katirni's prospects of election have decreased.

"In my opinion," one caller said on a talk show last night, "is that we ought to just do away with the idea of a president being elected twice. Ten years is long enough to make mistakes and get away with it. Why allow 20?"

It is a sentiment shared by many as election reform comes closer to the top of the list of concerns in these polls.

However, it is not because of long terms that Aslat is coming close to victory.

According to economist and historian Vlue Deang, the factors for a political revolution are all there.

"You have crisis, you have negligence, and you have a man promising something better," he said in a phone interview. "These are all the things that allowed for near dictators like Wessich and Hitler to rise to power."

While VPB does not condone the view of the Esteemed Atnaian leader as a dictator, his point may prove true on June 13th.

This has been VPB.

Verona Beach Reporter 5/27/17: Health Ministry Bans Ac...

Flights to Atnaia grounded after the new order was released yesterday.
Health Ministry Bans Access to Atnaia Due to Ticking Flu

Verona Beach- Late yesterday morning, after deliberations with the Chief Minister, the Minister of Health and Safety announced during a televised press conference that a "Red" risk level was being placed on travel to the nation of Atnaia, the highest level of travel restriction and the first time the restriction has been used in several decades. All travel to Atnaia, save thoroughly screened government officials (and medical aid personnel if the situation continues to deteriorate) is completely banned by any means. "No known cases of [Ticking Flu] have been reported in Verona Beach, and we'd like to keep it that way," said the HaS minister. A recent change in the law means that special exceptions to a Red risk level can be given out to citizens, however, these have to be approved case-by-case by the Ministry. Additionally, all persons entering from Atnaia will be subject to a mandatory and rigorous scanning procedure administered by the Directorate for Health and Safety Overseas (DHSO) to confirm that they are not carriers of the disease.

This decision comes after a similar one made in Ventlimer involving the epidemic overseas.

Le Île
Fort de Belle Île, Belle Ilse en Terre

Le Île

The intrepid reporters of Le Île have recently uncovered a long kept secret; the war in San Jimenez has been prosecuted in part with Belle Îlais soldiers! Long before tensions escalated, or even before the civil war was a major issue, small detachments of Catholic Ilsan soldiers had been secretly transported to fight the communist insurgents in San Jimenez. It was not until yestreday that this was revealed, through death of Sir Guillaume, Order of the Jesuits. Though the details of his and his squads death are unknown, two of his brothers in the Order claim he was shot by Rooenan soldiers. The Knights further claimed that they found three Rooenan soldiers soldiers dead, though the cause of there death, beyond being shot, is unknown. The Purist Party, headed by the Provincial General himself, has urged the House of Lords to prepare to issue a strongly worded letter demanding reparations and an official apology from Rooenan and further reparations from the SLSJ. The reparations are only the beginning. The Provincial General has mobilised his Navy and Army lest such hostilities escalate. The King is not inclined to be too rash, due to the circumstantial nature of the evidence. Whatever foreign involvement may amount to, Ilsais soldiers have been killed in San Jiminez, and it is not unlikely that the next meetings if the House of Lords and the Peers will discuss this further. The King has demanded that Rooenan to withdraw support from the SLSJ, while the Provincial General has demanded an official apology and privately confirmed to the author that "[He] will readily don [his] cross for the coming crusade." Thus far, the Protestant and Reformist parties are reluctant to join the conflict, though the Government has always been very much against modern political ideology. The coming week and any response or provocation from Communist Powers may unite the recalcitrant nobles.

GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES NEUTRALITY IN ADDRESS TO NORTHERN CONFLICT

Image
President Justuva Susanto after the press conference

BHINNEKA, Antana News Agency - After the seemingly undecided stance over the escalation of the conflict in the far north, this morning the government held a press conference. The pressure ammounted from the divided community all over the Samudera, plus the increasing push from the opposition, is rumoured as the reason for the adjusted date for the press conference, at first scheduled next week. The president, who presents himself in front of the curious journalist and the whole nation, says that the whole tensions and wars in the north will rather have a slight effect, if not at all, for the Samudera. Therefore there will be no justification about the whole 'going-on-war' things, besides the fact that Samudera didn't have any force. However, the president himself said that the decision itself isn't binding for the entire duration of the conflict. Rather, it would be adjusted according to the later situation for what will be the best for Samudera. The President also told the country to respect the government decision. Opposition leader, Kristova Jumhari, said after the press conference, "For once, i agreed with the government decision to stay the hell out of this nonsense conflict. We already had enough of our portion of conflicts down here. Why bother adding another?". He also said that if the government decided to engage in the war, that means the president betrays the constitution for allowing the military to prevail again. He didn't specify which article, unfortunately.

NHS Volunteers remove bodies from Jurken Workhouse, Kalghvisser

PURTH-GRAJE, ATNA PREFECTURE, ATNAIA - The Hegemonic Quorum of Atnaia confirmed this morning that the Ticking Flu epidemic has continued to escalate, with 500,000 confirmed cases nationwide and over 100,000 deaths as a result of the disease. While businesses have yet to feel a major impact to workforce, with the majority of fatalities concentrated amongst seniors and vulnerable youth, economists predict that the continuation of the epidemic will have drastic effects in the Atnaian economy. Already, the effects of various region-wide border closures to Atnaia have been felt, with cargo vessels piling up in Atnaian ports. In response to the heightening threat, the Quorum has put into effect mandatory containment protocols. All JJ17-Positive individuals are to be removed to designated quarantine camps nationwide until treatment methods can be developed. Those suspected of having JJ17 are to turn themselves in to proper NHS and ARK authorities, and those found hiding symptoms may be charged with Endangering the Public and reported to LISA.

"Our current treatment methods can do little but lengthen the timeline of JJ17's progression," said one NHS doctor. "Symptoms, at this juncture, are inevitable, and death seems nearly certain in at least 1/3 of cases, if not much higher. While individuals in good health between the ages of 15 and 40 seem to have a longer infection period with less severe symptoms, even these cases seem to be progressing rapidly towards severity."

Fortress Atnaia has been vocal in its support for stricter health measures, and are organizing marches and drives against infection.

"We have to get any ticker off the street immediately," said a Fortress Atnaia member during a public demonstration Saturday night. "They're endangering our children and our nation by not coming forward and voluntarily submitting to quarantine measures."

"The danger posed by the Ticking Flu is immediate and present," said the Hegemon in an interview this morning. "We cannot allow this threat to continue unabated. I have authorized more drastic measures be put into place, and have allowed LISA the freedom to pursue this issue the same as any other domestic threat to this nations wellbeing and public welfare."

A reminder to report all suspicious activities and possible Ticking Flu cases to your local Stone Wall-Bastion tipline.

Good morning;
As many know the war between San Jimenez and Rooneean has lead to many nations taking one side or the other, yesterday the Council of 104 met to discuss what the Empire should do concerning the growing conflict and how it may effect us. As a member of the C6 Alliance, Wellsia is willing and ready to defend herself and her allies. Reports are that a patrol squadron consisting of one cruiser and two corvettes has been ordered north of Dommania to assist in patrols between Dommania and Rooneean. More importantly reports are coming in that a battle fleet is being assembled for the possibility of naval action. It is being assembled at our naval base on Perm and as of latest reports will be built around the carrier Victorious and the battleship Thunderer. The importance of this event is not only based on the gathering of our warships but the fact that Senior Flagofficer Vincent Halfhyde has been put in command of the fleet.

The Council wants everyone to pray for continue peace and that war doesn't spread to the Empire, but also wants to let both the Wellsian people, our allies and more importantly our enemies that we stand ready and able to protect ourselves and our intrest.

Highland Piracy Returns?

An Owinn merchant vessel, the Cadan, was supposed to arrive home this morning laden with wool supplemental imports from Domanania. The Cadan left from the capital city of Domanania, Dowlwind. The merchant shipping company took notice when the ship wasn't docking on time, and neither could it be sighted anywhere in the vicinity. Ahernric authorities then got involved in searching for the vessel in the Four Passages area.

This disappearance is eerily familiar. Since the hostilities broke out between the Ahernry and highland insurrectionists, Royal Owinn Navy traitors are believed to have turned to piracy. Two ships like the Cadan have disappeared as a result of this piracy. Most shockingly, the Carrighinnis, the traitorous naval vessal, managed to damage and destroy two RON vessels before escaping.

Could the apparent loss of the Cadan be due to more of the Carrighinnis' terrorism on the seas? The pattern is similar, and the pirate ship did strike at an Owinn merchant ship in the Four Passages before. However it was damaged during the skirmish with the Royal Owinn Navy, leading many to question how it could have restocked and repaired for another criminal voyage without the availability of its home port. Furthermore, the Royal Owinn Navy has patrols in the Four Passages.
