Liberation of Chardoux and Romsay Support!

Confirmed reports earlier today told of armored Doman tanks crossing the D'uns-Donne border into northern Donne. A reported 30 tanks and 8,000 men rode south towards the city of Chardoux.

This all came about due to a political assassination carried out by Vienne supported terrorists a week ago. The Vienne government was given exactly a week to make a statement either accepting responsibility or denying any involvement. No such statement was given, even in private. They were warned of severe consequences if they did not respond. This was the response given.

The force sent to Chardoux was to liberate the city from Vienne control, and turn it over to the newly formed Republic of Romsay. Tank divisions entered the city around 4 in the morning under the cover of darkness. Within hours, the city was taken and liberated. Once taken, the city was put into a lockdown, to prevent any Pro-Vienne individuals from leaving. They were to be humanely detained and held in the city.

The commander of the division that took the city ensures the saftey of all so long as they comply and do not attempt to disrupt any military activity.

And a few hours after sunrise, supply ships began to enter the Chardoux port, delivering any needed supplies to local law enforcement and citizens. A small attachment of Doman destroyers and Cruisers are guarding the port from any attempts at a blockade by the Vienne government.

The same is said to be done for the port of Vuileries in the captial of Romsay. Only a mountain class assault ship escorts a much larger force. And the supply ships are told of delivering supplies and arms to the new Republic.

Marcius Brenshal Gave a speech on the first radio broadcast in the morning.

"Hello and good morning people of Domanania, and all others listening. I have glorious news. Earlier this morning, a small force of brave Doman soldiers cross the border into Donne and liberated the city of Chardoux from the vile Vienne. They were given a single week to make a statement on the brutal attack on our government, and they chose to bite their tongues. They will now suffer the consequences of their actions. The Federation openly, and fully supports the independence and sovereignty of the new Republic of Romsay. They are now an ally of the Federation, and we will defend them by all means necessary. This is the fallout of the Queen Elect's choices. Victoire chose not to own up to her actions, and now she will lose a section of land given to her by our generous hands. Glory to the Federation"

And early polls show a spike in the support for an independent Romsay. Only 5% of the Doman peoples disagree with military support, or any support at all. Many of these are suspected to be people of dual citizenship of both Vioraux and the Federation.

The new leader of the Anti-Vienne league in Domanania, and the leader of the Imperials party, Beyn Tarr also delivered a public address.

"Beloved peoples of the Federation. We of the Anti-Vienne league fully support this liberation of Chardoux and support the new Republic of Romsay. We ask the people of Vioroux, is this really what you want? Do you want to support a mad woman who seeks to only gain from the suffering of the earth and her people? She has been dammed since taking her spot in government. She is a child and nothing more than a spoiled brat! If she really wants to be an adult, then she needs to acknowledge her mistakes and wrongdoings. To both us and her own people. I am afraid that she will only grow more stubborn and continue to dig her own grave. I pray to the gods and Xodia above that she learns what she did wrong, by any means necessary

Arvanan MiG 23's Have entered Noronnican Airspace

Noronnican Media Corporation has been notified that 15 fighter jets have entered Noronnican Airspace. Noronnican Vultures have yet again been scrambled to deter them.

Radar picked them up and has been tracking them. Currently, Noronnican fighters are chasing them around the island, attempting to stop them from any aggression. None have responded to the Noronnican jets and we are currently watching out for more information.

It is not known where they plan to go, but they have shown no sign of stopping. Stick with us for more information.

Riders on the storm: Samanar bids to become wind capital of TWI




Samanar inaugurated one of the largest wind farms in 2013 -- the $290 million, 120-megawatt (MW) Samanaria plant. This was followed by the even larger 153 MW Adamuss II facility in 2015.
But wind accounted for just 324 MW of Samanar's total output of 4,180 MW at the end of 2015, with the vast majority coming from hydropower.
This picture is set to change with the government's second "Growth and Transformation Plan," which will see total output pass 17,000 MW by 2020, and a vastly increased share from the air.
The government has plans for at least five further wind farms, and potentially many more, aiming to deliver up to 5,200 megawatts from wind power within four years. The cost is officially calculated at $3.1 billion, although other estimates place it over $6 billion.
"We are conducting research and studying the data to see the number of plants we can connect (to the National Grid)," says Alexis Dremm head of communications for the Samanarian Electric Power company. "It is important to have different energy sources for a reliable system. Wind is a big focus and we need it."

NORONNICAN AIRCRAFT SHOT DOWN BY ARVANANS

It has now been confirmed by the Noronnican Air Force that a Noronnican Vulture Fighter Jet has been shot down. The other MiG-23's have reportedly been either shot down or escaped. The NAF and the government have responded to the assault, calling it "Disgusting", and "Unredeemable".

It is a day of shock for Noronica, as a former colony has attacked and taken down an aircraft in the Early Warning Squadron. At 3:55 PM, the Early Warning Squadron were sent up to investigate and interrogate fifteen MiG-23 Fighter Jets. When all attempts at communication failed, a pilot gave the last warning and was forced to phone the Prime Minister to see what the verdict was. During this call, a MiG reportedly shot down one of the Vultures which resulted in the clearance to engage. Eight of the MiG's were shot down, two were unable to eject, killing two pilots. The others were captured by Nyssic Troops on the Sessux Isle. The other MiG's reportedly sustained heavy damage but managed to escape the Noronnican Airspace and head back to Arván.

Many are shocked at this new development, most were expecting just a war of words between Noronica and Arván. It would now appear as though Arván is on the war footing. This will undoubtedly prove a difficult dilemma for the Noronnican government.

The Prime Minister has issued this statement:

This act of violence will not go unnoticed. We will not be bullied by Arván - rest assured Noronica shall answer. The government will now issue an article that will put the United Noronnican Forces on standby, we have not declared war, but we are prepared and the government shall be in talks. Any further aggression shall result in immediate termination.

We are unsure of what will be happening next, but Noronica seems to be ready for war. It seems that more information will be coming to light with recent operations in Arván.

Reports are just coming in that a MiG 23 was engaged and destroyed in the Argean Sea by a Norsan frigate. The aircraft is thought to have originated from Arvan, which has been described as a rogue state. A Ministry Of Defence spokesperson has just issued a brief statement:

"An Arvanan MiG 23 was engaged by the Norsan Frigate KNS Tranquillity in the Argean sea earlier today. This was not an act of aggression on the part of the Tranquillity, the situation was deemed serious enough to warrant engagement with a surface to air missile. This was purely a defensive action as a result of continued aggression on the part of the MiG 23."

This comes just hours after an incident between Arvanan and Noronican aircraft, and could potentially escalate into something much bigger. Details are still vague at this point but this looks to be a very serious situation, we will continue to update you as we get information.

Update

We are hearing now that Prime Minister Abbing is chairing a meeting with the joint chiefs of staff and the cabinet emergency committee, and that he has also held a discussion with the Prime Minister of Noronica. There is no doubt about it now, this was an act of war committed against Norstham, this looks as though it could result in military actions being taken against Arvan. Covonant attacked by terrorist groups

The Minister of Defense Batiatus Sula has reported in the Consul that the events that occurred Saturday involving the meltdown of the country's largest nuclear power facility is linked to terrorist groups in Prioca. The Minister made the revelations to members of the Consul in an emergency sitting yesterday.

I have received reports from both the Intelligence and Data Centre and the Federal Institute for Criminal Affairs, and from both reports the words sabotage and act of terrorism was expressed throughout. The attacks is linked to a terrorist organisation in Prioca that calls themselves Faceless. They are known to target government officials as they are against the 'establishment' whatever that is.

The Defense Minister noted that Covonant will be taking measures to ensure those involved in the attack on the country will be dealt with.

We will not relent. We will not accept this attack. Innocent men and women were killed in an attack on Covonantian soil. The members of Faceless shall be found and they will understand why the Union is a nation not to mess with

While members of the Consul were in support with the Defense Minister's response. Opposition Leader Crassus Gais wanted quick action and less words as he advised Prime Minister Marl to take swift and decisive military actions towards Prioca.

I am glad that the Defense Minister is adamant on showing strength towards those who would wish to strike us down, but I do not want this to be a session of words, the people of Covonant want meaningful action. I would advise the Prime Minister to make use of the military and let them carry out their duty of ensuring our lives are protected. Is the Prime Minister willing to send military force to Prioca or will this be one that we allow to let go.

Prime Minister Marl in his response noted that military action against Prioca is not in the best interest to tackle the group.

Honourable leader of the Opposition, one cannot be too reactionary in this instance. Military strike on Prioca would be unnecessary, what does the Priocan government or people have to do concerning this matter, we should rely more upon them to assist us in defeating the terrorist organisation and that is what I plan on doing

Many in the Consul showed disappointment with the Prime Minister's response, with few calling the Covonantian leader a pushover and a coward.

Many Covonantians have also showed disapproval with Prime Minister's Marl response to the attacks with many calling it a show of weakness.

I thought I lived in a country that could stand and challenge any adversity. We are quick to send our troops to die for other people but our lives means nothing to the government as they would sit idle by and watch our nation become a haven for terrorist.

Is the Mesder at risk following a nuclear power plant meltdown?

The Minister of Health Robert Staci is giving great assurance that Covonant and by extension the Mesder is not at adverse risk following the meltdown of the Jueverna nuclear power facility over the weekend. The Health Minister was giving that assurance in the Consul.

From the reports following the investigations which are still ongoing but we do have a preliminary finding that suggest that Covonant and the Mesder are not at great risk following the meltdown of the nuclear power facility in Jueverna

The Minister however noted that small amounts of radioactive elements were found in the surrounding area of the facility and has pledge that cleanup work is to commence with immediate effect.

We have identified where small traces of radioacative material was released into the surrounding environment, this however is not a cause for panic has the whole facility has been contained and operations seized as well as cleanup efforts to be commenced immediately with focus being on towns in and around the surrounding areas. The outer bands of the Union has no traces of radioactive material suggesting that neighbouring countries are not at risk

The Minister of Health noted that the cleanup efforts is slated to cost the government $50 million dollars

Following our meeting at Cabinet yesterday, the government has agreed to the allocation of $50 million dollars that should assist in providing the materials needed for the cleanup operations

UCEnergy expresses loses amounting to billions of dollars following meltdown

CEO of UCEnergy Mavis Facey is reporting that the company is expected to lose in excess of 5 billion dollars following the meltdown of the Nuclear facility over the weekend. The loss is expressed as being a result of the nationwide power outage that is still ongoing.

We have done our preliminary projections and we are expecting to lose roughly 5-8 billion dollars due to the nationwide power outage that is going into its third day and we are not sure when all power would be restored nationwide

Mrs. Facey expressed that though UCEnergy is heavily subsidized by the government it would cost billions to repair the facility and to see service granted without any disruption.

The Jueverna Power Plant was started following the government's investment of $7 billion dollars over a three year period starting back in 2012. The plant was to be state of the art and assist in preventing any disruptions in power being supplied. In fact the plant as done well to support the grid that it was one of the best system in the isles. Now that it is in need of critical expensive repairs and the security system needs to be changed and a new one developed that cost alone would amount to the billions as well. And until we can either repair that plant or find a supplementary plant that can support say around five smaller plants and we continue on that path, we can expect disruptions in the supplying of power to our customers. What we may have to do or will have to do rather is to use alternative natural sources of energy such as coal and oil which the government has pledge to cut back on but we may have to look into that option for a temporary response.

Many citizens in Coventry can breath a sigh of relief as the city's power is 100% restored. This following city wide and nationwide blackouts over the past three days following a meltdown at the country's largest nuclear power plant over the weekend. UCEnergy CEO Mavis Facey gave an update as to why other parts of the country has not received full power as yet.

We had to give preference to the Capital. Coventry is the political and diplomatic centre of the Union so obviously power had to be restored there first and we are working assidously to ensure before the end of the day that 100% power should be restored in Malvern Alstaer the financial centre of Covonant

She expressed that the grid is overworked which explains why full power cannot be restored.

We can't give full power all at once because the system is already damaged and there is already a strain being placed on the system. The best we can do is give power for a few hours but it would have to be taken down for a while. This will however not be applied to Coventry. I can promise however that we will make every effort to ensure all power restored throughout Christmas day and hopefully subsequent days, but there will be frequent power cuts as we repair damages to our plants that were affected and while we transfer the grid off of nuclear power which accounted for 60% and find alternative energy source, and the most accessible cheapest one we are looking at now is coal. Though we do not want to rely on it as it is bad for the environment it will be used temporarily

Owinn Minister of the Exterior Chastises Arván

Earlier today, Arván, oftentimes described as a "rogue state," appears to have committed acts of aggression against both Noronica and Norstham. In the first case, an Arvánan MiG-23 fighter jet engaged and shot down a Noronnican Vulture. In the following air battle, the Noronnican air force came out on top. Then only hours later, it was reported that another MiG-23 from Arván attacked the Norsan warship Tranquility as it was patrolling in the Argean Sea.

Shanowinn's Minister of the Exterior Brian Innis, who has assumed provisional control of the Ahernry in the wake of Ahern Gleann Bánach's death, largely echoes what both the political leaders of Noronica and Norstham say regarding Arván. The Prime Ministers of both nations have discussed the rogue state already, and issued staunch warnings about declarations of war. Brian Innis has said:

"What Arván has done, and what it is today, is unacceptable. Internally, Arván is a place of immorality and evil, and it is ill-led. But now, externally it is a threat. If it comes to direct military intervention, I believe that it would be right for Shanowinn to offer some forces, for to support Nornica and Norstham. The Exterior Ministry has planned to open up relations and trade in this area, and would do its part to make sure Arván is addressed."

According to information the Telegraph has received, the force would likely be made up of several naval assets, focused on securing the skies against further Arvánan air attacks, and could also pledge a contingent ground forces to serve however necessary. The Royal Owinn Navy says that it could have the capacity to serve primarily in both an air defense and a support role for various forces.

My fellow Covonantian. Our nation has witnessed in the past few days, the most horrific attack to ever occur in our nation's history resulting in the untimely death of over 200 of our brothers and sisters. This attack on our country has left both Julia and I in a state of shock and sadness. I know we are all grieving at this time, and it may take a while for us to feel up again but the Covonantian spirit which is in all of us gives us the urge to continue to live our lives for those that were taken valiantly. The Covonantian spirit that is in us, is what allows us to continue to wave the green and gold and to let the Isles know that we can't be shaken, we can't be moved, we are a firm nation built on a solid foundation.

As we reflect on the past events let us look to the future. A future that is safe and secure for our families, our friends, and ourselves. Let us look within ourselves and chart a future that we can be proud of.

We are sadden, we are upset, we are perplex. I send the strongest condemnation towards those that were responsible for the innocent men and women, mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins that were killed. We will not relent, we will not stop until you pay your dues for the crimes you have committed. We send a strong message to all terrorist who looks upon the Union of Covonant as a haven to make use of, that to look away, for there is no safe haven in this country for terrorist. We will make an example out of the members of Faceless that to mess with the Union will be a grave mistake.

I am aware that emotions are high, and many would wish to see military action done. I can assure that in coming days while having the cooperation with the Priocan government, a task force from Covonant will be sent to Prioca to track these individuals down, and we will find them and once we do, they will pay for what they have done.

Our country has been touched, our people sadden. While some of us are with our families, friends and loved ones we still weep. Our sense of security has been plagued. The stability we boast to have, have been disrupted. But we will rise for there is no burden too great that we can't bear, nor is there any cross to heavy that we can't carry. No river to wide that we can't cross. We will rise again.

As we are all in our homes or out on the nation's street or Covonantians abroad who are viewing this and feel the impact and hurt of what has happened to your fellow citizens, I ask that we all do this. And that is to pray for each, pray that we all remain safe, pray that tomorrow will be a brighter day for our people, for our children and grandchildren, for ourselves, and most importantly for our lovely nation. Vemta condemns terrorist attack in Covonant

Camille Mack, Vemta's Secretary of International Relations and Diplomacy condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Covonant, killing 200 people. Security officials point to the Faceless, a domestic terrorist organization in Prioca, which just last week hacked and released confidential documents from the Free Conservative Party and masterminded the meltdown of the nuclear power plant in the Jueverna, Covonant last Saturday.

"The Holy Republic of Vemta condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous attacks on innocent civilians. These sinister designs have no place in civilized society, and their desperate attempts will only ultimately lead to failure. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Covonantians, especially the relatives of the victims."

Secretary Mack also said that the Vemtasi government was standing by the government of Covonant, a country it shares formal relations with. The Vemtasi government has offered its assistance in the apprehension of the individuals responsible, that they be brought to swift and appropriate justice.

The Vemtasi embassy in Covonant meanwhile issued a travel advisory to all its citizens working and traveling in the country. The embassy compound has also beefed up its security, in light of the escalated security threat in the area. No Vemtasi national was reported affected by the incident in Jueverna.

Meanwhile, Secretary Mack also condemned the shooting of the Noronnican jet by armed elements from Arvan, a rogue state in the Argean which is also a former colony of Noronica. The Secretary said that they were closely monitoring the situation and were ready to assist the Noronnican government should they ask for it.

Archaeologists have uncovered a site hosting what they believe to be artifacts and fossils of prehistoric humans that have inhabited Avetinia. They have discovered a cave 15 kilometres east of a town in Valkamaa, and have found many articles which they believe to be evidence of human habitation. This was further proven right when remains apparently belonging to Homo sapiens were discovered, along with more tools and apparently firewood.

Archaeologists have taken away some of the items for study, and further results will be announced in a month.

Items found include firewood, flint and stone tools, human bones and what appears to be dried beast hide. How the unfortunate humans that were discovered ended up in this state is unknown, though some bones display signs of fracture and heavy injury.

"It is very exciting," says one of the archaeologists, "we will be able to look more into the history of human habitation in Avetinia before civilization with these artifacts and remains." Several senior members of the nation's archaeological association have also expressed positive expectations over conclusions that can be produced over findings that may be gathered. "This will definitely provide more insight into the lifestyles of ancient humans in Avetinia and shed light upon much-needed gaps in our textbooks," says one museum curator.

For a while now, Arván has been seen as a problematic state by the Noronnican Government, and indeed, other governments. While we all knew about the militarization and rumours of criminal activity, we never imagined that the situation was much worse. Noronnican Military Intelligence revealed top-secret information about the Republic of Arván which is being detailed in this special report.

Since 2002, the Noronnican Military Intelligence has been operating on the peninsula of Arván under the name, "Operation French Isle". This has lead to multiple reports of human rights violations. What was revealed to the NMC was shocking. It is believed that the Noronnican Military Intelligence is revealing this now as a consequence of Arván's attack on a Noronnican Vulture Fighter Jet yesterday and now reportedly a Norsan Frigate. This report details the report on Arván and the Government's stance on what is to happen next.

The Arvanan Government

The Arvanan government is a cesspool of corruption and deceit. It is reported that multiple officials are included in the Black Market on the peninsula and some are involved in human slavery. It was revealed to us that the Arvanan government are still using the old system where they had a Noronnican Governor in charge due to it being a colony. This system is flawed on its own, which has allowed the government to rot from within.

The President has declared himself the 'Indefinite President' and has begun taking an iron grip of the areas that he controls. The President has been on a huge military drive, with operatives noting that vast amounts of weaponry have been bought from the Balck Market and a lot of civilians are being drafted into the military. More illegal MiG-23's have been bought by the government.
He has declared a war on his own people as he strives to eradicate those working for the cartels and various other crime rings. In a speech, he stated that "like Hitler, I will kill six million. There will be a day without drug infested scum".

The government only has control of a small portion of the nation, only controlling the military bases, the Capital and various other small villages and towns around it.

It appears that Arván is filled with those who have committed serious human rights abuses. In the NMI report, it states;
"The human trafficking market has been a major concern for the Noronnican Military Intelligence (and indeed the government) for a while now. Reports have shown the true extent of such atrocities. Many are sold into slavery and the age range is not discriminatory. This violates many human rights acts which may warrant intervention; especially since the Arvanan government do nothing to prevent it. Reports also show that many international criminal organisations seem to have a significant stake in the business."

The Human Trafficking market is a huge business in Arván. Many slaves are sold on the peninsula or shipped elsewhere by international criminal organisations. Slaves have been sold into horrific lives, the most lenient being forced to work in cartel-controlled plantations. Others are not so fortunate. Reports of horrific abuse and torture have been reported and those who have been rescued by Noronnican operatives were unable to live with themselves. One of the most abhorrent facts about this is that the government has been complicit with this and some officials have a stake in the business.

Shocking scenes of brutality in a Kirat-Sunuwar village

It has been reported that specific ethnic groups are targeted by gangs and government forces. One of them being the Kirat-Sunuwar who have lived on the island during the Khas-Kirat Empire, before the Nyssic migration in the 1700's. People are dragged out of their homes, enslaved, executed, tortured. The government is extremely anti-Sunuwar, due to the old rivalry between the two peoples. Noronnican Military Intelligence estimates that over 1,000 Kirat-Sunuwar's have been executed, while over 2,000 have been enslaved.

There are also reports of Corindi businesses being taken over by cartels and Pozlacen tourists being kidnapped. This involves a lot more than just Noronica.

Crime

Arván is rife with criminal activity. Drug Cartels have been set up around the peninsula, because of the lack of law & order in some areas, they have begun controlling key towns. International criminal organisations are believed to be supporting the various groups in Arván. Some government officials are funding their operations there.

One of the most worrying details is the supposed resurgence of the Noronnican Nationalist Party which is now classified as a terrorist group, but it used to be a legitimate political party that took control of Noronica and sent it into civil war. They are now apparently making a comeback with graffiti of the NNP appearing everywhere. Some reports include racial minorities having the symbol painted on them and forced to wear them openly.

Rebellion

We are unsure at this time if a genuine rebel effort has been set up, but reports detail sightings of "FORTIS, IMPERTERRITUS, OPULENS ET INTELLIGENS" graffitied onto walls. Obviously, this means that several citizens support the old Noronnican control over the peninsula as this is the Noronnican national motto.

Military

Militarily, the situation is very problematic. An agent recently reported that President Raoul Sartin has issued an order to mobilise the army indefinitely,
"It appears that the Arvanan army have set up blockades and numerous outposts around the peninsula. Several attacks on civilians have been noted, including forced checks for weaponry. It would appear that the President wishes to start a war on drugs in his own country as he recently issued a public announcement to state media that he would 'kill as many drug dealers as he can'. Agent [...] and I have noticed that several aircraft have been scrambled and have been heading north. This fits with several Noronnican reports that detail the constant appearance of aircraft in their airspace."

Noronica

After government talks, the Prime Minister gave this speech;

My fellow Noronnicans. As you all know, a Noronnican jet was shot down yesterday by a MiG-23 originating from Arván. Arvanan government has claimed this attack and has promised more aggression. I and the rest of the cabinet were in shock at these events, as no one would have expected this. Rest assured however, the Overlordship of Noronica does not sit idly while threats are made to our sovereign nation. We will respond to this attack.

We have all read or seen the news. We all know about Arván and its atrocities. We all know about the brutality of its government and the inefficiency of said government. The system was designed specifically for Noronnican co-rule, not for an independent nation; and yet the government refuses to rebuild it, instead allowing the system to rot from the inside. The President has also promised to commit genocide on multiple occasions. We have to question whether they are actually competent or able to control their own nation.

Too long have the people of Arván suffered under the hands of the cruel government and the cartels. Too long have the racial minorities been persecuted for their beliefs or culture. Too long have we stood by to allow this cesspool of hate and brutality to continue. I and the government say - no more.

It was agreed by a government vote and the cabinet's agreement that Noronica will intervene militarily. Arván shall no longer be controlled by these incompetent leaders. Arván shall be under Noronnican rule again.

This shocking reveal has left the nation astounded, but many have supported this motion, saying that Noronica is doing the "right thing". Some are worried about any international backlash.

In light of the recent escalation of tensions between Arvan and many Coalition nations, Prime Minister Abbing had confirmed, after lengthy conversations with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Prime Minister of Noronica, that military action will be taken. We can only speculate what nature the "military action" will be of at this point, but it seems that Prime Minister Abbing will confirm reports that KNS Polaris, the flagship of the Navy, and her accompanying strike-group, will be deployed to conduct airstrikes on Arvanan targets, and provide close-air-support to allied forces on the ground. We are yet to receive any reports regarding what ground forces, if any, will be deployed. This will be the first combat the Polaris has seen, and many will be eager to observe it's performance, perhaps to judge weather or not the large investment was worth it.

Ahern Buried in Termon

Days ago, Gleann Steffan Bánach, Ahern of Shanowinn, passed away. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, and the hopes of many, he perished in a Gladdagh area hospital. From there authorities transported his body to Termon where a public state funeral was held. Many people from all over the Ahernry travelled to Termon to see and participate in the funeral procession, ceremony, and following celebrations. Dignitaries from Upper Norseland, Athara Magarat, and Luntrattan flew into Shanowinn for the event, and to express their condolences.

The late Ahern was honored in various ways including observances of the Winter Solstice. The Royal Owinn Army's Alan's Rifles Ceremonial Detachment helped to lead a procession on horseback through the capital city of Termon. The Ahern himself was transported in a traditional Owinn way, on an ornamented horse drawn cart, flanked by members of the Ceremonial Detachment as well as a few regular Riflemen from Alan's Rifles. This configuration dates back to the funeral of the famed Ahern Erwan Mael Alan in 1914, where those who had served under him marched alongside.

Several dignitaries and family members made speeches about the Ahern's life and legacy once the official state ceremony began to wrap up. Chief among them was Ahern Gleann Bánach's former Minister of the Exterior Brian Innis, now provisional leader of the country, and Ahern Gleann's own wife, Mayve Bánach, who spoke passionately about her late husband's wishes going forward. She urged the people to celebrate life, especially the Ahern's life, together rather than just mourning. The following is a transcript of her speech:

Greetings. First of all I wish to thank all of you for coming to my husband the Ahern's funeral. In particular I appreciate that foreign representatives from Upper Norseland, Athara Magarat, Luntrattan have taken the time to pay their respects.

This is not an easy time for my family, as you can understand, and our nation grieves with us. My husband's last words were in the form of two wishes. First he said that he wants his painting to still hang in the Gladdagh residence--he was doing his best to smile when he said that. But, the second wish. The second wish was for Shanowinn to look forward--it is a sad time, but he doesn't want us to stay sad.

Please, I propose that we should not dwell so much on his passing, as the wonderful fact that he lived. He loved life, and enjoyment. So do not feel that you would be offensive or insensitive, in showing any kind of joy today! Don't feel guilty, Gleann Bánach would feel honored for us to celebrate today! If anyone would be offended, it's me, and I am telling you not to worry. Keep him in mind as we celebrate his life, and life in general. Coming together with family is divine and honors our loved ones and those who've gone before us, as I say--and look--we have all come together here. We are one Owinn family! Today is the Winter Solstice, it is supposed to be a dark day. But light a candle and it becomes lighter. Consider any smile today a spark of light.

Vancouvia Evokes VACES Alliances on Two Fronts

Congress was in session deep into the night as Senators debated recent regional happenings. Senator George Pastel paused to give a short press briefing this afternoon before returning to the other Senators. The briefing, which featured no questions, announced Vancouvia's full intent to honor the VACES alliances with both Vioraux and Noronica.

Pastel called the surprise attack on Noronica by Arván air forces, "a brutal and unorthodox display of zealous aggression," and went on to say that Vancouvia has now issued a Declaration of Conjunction, authorizing the full scale use of all Vancouvian military personnel to act in tandem with Noronnican forces. Both the 29th and 32nd Vancouvian Special Forces cohorts stationed in Yorkford have been put on full alert pending necessary action.

Pastel also clarified Vancouvia's stance on the ongoing Vioraux-Romsay conflict, citing Vancouvia's commitment to peacekeeping and safeguarding the Vienne government. "It is not the first time Vancouvia has defended our friends to the west, and it will not be the last," said Pastel, as he explained that Vancouvian forces surrounding the Four Passages have been airlifted into the country to assist with suppression of the revolt. Pastel also issued a warning to Domanania, an active aggressor supporting the false government, and all nations supporting Romsay either officially or unofficially.

"Vancouvia is prepared to support our friends and allies to the fullest extent possible," concluded Pastel. "We shall not waver, we shall not delay, and we shall not utter hollow threats. Nations of The Western Isles, take note: Vancouvia shall act, and Vancouvia and its allies shall prevail."

Critics are worried that Vancouvia may be forced to fight wars on multiple fronts, also noting the continued escalation in San Javier and the growing I.D. re-escalation.

Congress adjourns for Winter holidays

The Congress of Vemta today adjourned for its annual winter holiday recess, which will last until January 09 of next year. Members are expected to flock to their respective constituencies to participate in local holiday events, while others are expected to catch up with some private time with their families. Before going on recess, the President of Congress Carl Colins noted the achievements of the legislature for the year. One important measure which the Congress passed before going on its break was its giving concurrence to the ratification of the Charter of the League of the Western Isles. In what was swift voting session, the lawmakers unanimously passed the charter, following several days of inside lobbying by the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy.

One important bill which remained pending and was not voted on was the supplemental budget for the new missile defense system of the Department of Defense. Envisioned to be fully operational by the year 2020, the new system will bolster the defense and security structure of the country. The bill will be tackled when Congress returns to session early next year.

Just yesterday Nakhu Khal released a press statement saying that he supports Romsay and believes that they should be freed from cruel Vioraux control. Nakhu concluded his statement with this:

GDP Rising
A recent survey has shown that the average weekly wage of a Karahar citizen has increased by $57 since Nakhu Khal's reign began, the GDP has also improved significantly. Researchers presume this is because of Nakhu Khal's good investments and workers working hard. It is also suspected that employers have been paying more to their workers. This economic growth has been a very helpful for the nation. Nakhu Khal made a small speech about it and this is what he said:

Karahar is a wonderful country to live in and I hope that the extra money I have been able to earn will just make it that little bit nicer. I plan to make Sığınağı arazi more environmentally safe. I plan that by the end of next year all of your energy will be generated by renewable sources.

Nursal Hurgi Wins Karahar Idol
Nursal Hurgi, the 17 year old from the steppes has won Karahar Idol and captured the hearts of everyone in Karahar while doing so. She won the auditions, first round and second round all unanimously, then won the quarter finals with three out of four votes. She then tied with Kete Donai in the semis, but was voted through by the audience vote. In the finals she gave her very best and sung her heart out. The performance was stunning. The whole entire crowd leapt up when she finished and applauded for many minutes. All of the other performances were good but not Nursal good. She won the competition with three votes out of four. She aims to become a professional musician. We managed to get an interview with her:

National Religion Changed to Buddhism After Joining the ISDP
Just today Karahar officially anounced that they would be joining the ISDP. The ISDP is made up of Karahar, Bhumidol, Athara Magarat and Bhikkustan. Karahar has changed the national religion to show that they respect the alliance and are willing to do a lot for them. It also was changed as Buddhism was on the rise, and soon Buddhism is expected to become the majority religion. We listened to Nakhu Khal's speech on the subject:

Taziristan Occupation: Seven Weeks On

Ptolemy Wu, Atnaian Governor to the Interim Government of Taziristan

ADAM RUH, TAZIRISTAN - In an interview with representatives of the international community last night, Governor for the Atnaian Occupation of Taziristan, Ptolemy Wu, lauded the work that has been done in the wartorn nation so far and further outlined Atnaia's goals for the occupied country.

"Our first and most important concern is a return to normalcy for the people of Taziristan," Wu explained to the press. "Subsidies and relief provided by the Atnaian government have already been very effective in early reconstruction efforts, and with the aid of Atnaian troops here, we have managed to return many of the displaced to their homes. The act of reworking government can come after the wellbeing of the common man of Taziristan has been protected. Ultimately, we fought a war for the rights of the common person, and that continues to be at the forefront of our minds."

The past six weeks have seen the interim government of Taziristan, under the direction of the Atnaian officials sanctioned by the League of the Western Isles, focused primarily on basic infrastructure reconstruction, clearing roads and returning power to the most damaged parts of Taziristan, while also constructing camps near those urban areas that require the most drastic reconstruction. Atnaian construction companies have been provided incentivizing subsidies to shift work to Taziristan and to hire locals in order to accelerate reconstruction efforts.

"The most important thing is to get the Taziri people back in their homes, back in the workforce and back on their feet," said Wu. "From there, we can begin to look at the goal of modernization."

When asked what those modernization efforts will look like, Wu suggested a heavy expansion of the resource extraction and refining industries of Taziristan while a new educational plan for the country can be developed. "The power of Taziri industry lies, at the moment, in what they can pull from the ground. Copper, petroleum and other precious commodities are in abundance here, and the unfortunate fact is that the people are undereducated and underutilized. We hope to see that rectified.

"The primary drivers of modernization," says Dr. Robert North of the Hegemonic Quorum, "are transportation, communication and education. It will be in those fields that we focus our efforts in Taziristan. Conversations are well underway with Atnaian rail and telecommunications companies for methods of ensuring development in those fields in Taziristan."

The Quorum has also outlined the conditions they see necessary for the new government of Taziristan, as constitutional development swarms forward. Including in the substantial analysis are a shift away from direct theocratic control and increased centralization of power, while also divesting the country of its more authoritarian and militaristic concerns by increasing councilization of the central government.

"As we see it, the recent atrocities committed by the Taziri military were entirely avoidable if more balances were in place to the power of the few ideologically extreme ends of the Taziri government at the time," says North. "The Taziri people are highly religious, and we do not seek to eliminate their religious practices or the culture of such in their government. What we seek is a way to temper the radicalism that arises with such philosophically founded politics through a more pragmatic internal structure."

Concerns have already been raised over the possible establishment of an extremely byzantine bureaucratic system, concerns which echo some criticism leveled at the current Atnaian administration as well. North and Wu both attempted to quell those concerns by promising that any constitutional changes made to Taziristan will of course be made at the best judgement of the international community.

"As I said, our primary concern is for the wellbeing of the people of Taziristan, and we will attempt to ensure that concern is also met in the halls of their new government," Wu said.

Innis Pledges Forces Against Arván, New Ahern Not Chosen!

As The Termon Telegraph has reported, this morning the government of Shanowinn held a meeting, primarily for the purpose of establishing who the new Ahern is, but it is also a time to discuss any pressing issues. This comes the morning after Ahern Gleann's funeral, observed yesterday on the WInter Solstice. Both the provisional leader Brian Innis and Ahern Gleann's wife Mayve Bánach, who were in the funeral, were required to attend today's meeting.

Brian Innis requested time to speak, and proceeded to give an official speech outlining his stance against Arván in the northern part of The Western Isles. He addressed the recent aggression against other nations coming out of Arván, and Arván's internal situation, both of which have contributed to its unofficial status as a "rogue state."

"I have spoken with military officials," Innis said, "and we will pledge to support Norstham and Noronica militarily in their eradication of the Arvánan threat. The rampant evil perpetrated against our fellow man there must be shut down, and we will do what we can to rehabilitate the affected population." The former Minister went on to assure that Shanowinn would not be involving itself in the intervention heavily. It is estimated that the Owinn military could mobilize several hundred troops along with light supporting vehicles and equipment.

After the Minister concluded his speech, it was time for the main intended purpose of the meeting, to reveal who the next Ahern of Shanowinn would be. This is traditionally done by the wife, who submits the deceased Ahern's nomination in writing, or as a last resort, expresses who the Ahern named verbally before death. However Mayve Bánach instead revealed that her husband was unable to do either. "We tried to get him to write it down, and when that didn't work, he tried to tell us, but we couldn't understand...and that's when he passed," she explained.

There is a provision for a situation like this. First, as was established at the meeting, the current provisional leader will continue their role for as long as necessary. Meanwhile the Comsedlon will convene to discuss possible choices, and eventually to elect an Ahern. It is too early to make predictions, but some speculate that Mayve Bánach herself may be a suitable candidate, especially after her strong, heartfelt, and unifying speech in Termon yesterday for the funeral. She has not yet made any statements on the matter.

Her speech largely revolved around Polar Svalbard supporting those railing against Arvan while stating that due to the conflict Polar Svalbard is in, Polar Svalbard will not be able to assist any efforts to go against this rouge state.

Athara Magarat shows the hand of friendship Covonant: a friend in need

The Democratic Republic of Athara Magarat has been strongly condemning the the recent terrorist attack on Covonant. A deadly explosion occurred at the Jueverna Nuclear Power Facility on December 17 at around 10pm. The attack in the nuclear plant, said to be carried out by a terrorist group active in Prioca, has left more than 200 Covonantian citizens to lose their lives and many more injured. The Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that the people and the government of Athara Magarat were deeply saddened by the incident and were against terrorism of any form.

The Foreign Ministry of Athara Magarat has stated that the nation is ready to do whatever they can to help Covonant and her citizens recover from the tragedy. So far the governmental organization AMAID (Athara Magarati Aid and International Development) and various NGOs and INGOs have arrived in Juverna with counselors and relief materials to help the victims of the Juverna meltdown and terrorist attack recover. Many youths have volunteered to join the the programs being carried out by AMAID and other organizations. Athara Magarat has requested the international community to come together and form the Juverna Recovery and Development Program because the situation in Mesder Sea is everyone's responsibility.

The Foreign Ministry says that Athara Magarati military, schools and organizations throughout the nation had observed moments of silence and candlelight vigils for the victims of Juverna incident. The national anthems of Athara Magarat and Covonant were played one after another in many places. In some places, half-mast flags of Covonant were raised.


Athara Magaratis hold a candlelight vigil showing solidarity with victims of Juverna.

The Foreign Ministry also informed that the Foreign Minister of Athara Magarat and several other dignitaries would be attending the memorial for the victims of the terrorist attack and meltdown on Juverna.
