Travel Ban Imposed Following Riots in Domanania

Peanuta's Department of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel ban on Nutty citizens visiting Domanania after riots in that country claimed the lives of 15 Nutty citizens.

Chancellor Charles Brown ordered the department to implement the ban yesterday within hours of the riots.

The nation-wide riots in Doomanania were instigated by an organization of religious radicals known as the New Doman Order. The radicals targeted citizens from all five nations on the Sea of Four Passages. Peanuta's citizens were the most heavily targeted.

Chancellor Brown issued a statement yesterday evening: "Today, innocent Nutty citizens were targeted for no other reason than their Pumkinist faith. The Commonwealth of Peanuta will not let this stand."

Brown did not specify any action to be taken yet other than the travel ban, but government insiders have indicated that Peanutia's diplomats are collaborating with Domanania's to deturmine an appropriate response.

The Dapartment of Foreign Affairs has issued the following warning:

"Religious radicals in Domanania have attacked and killed 15 Nutty citizens in Domanania. The Department of Foreign Affairs has banned all Nutty travel to Domanania for 48 hours, except for business or state purposes. Nutty citizens currently in Domanania are advised to contact the Nutty embassy there for information on how to vacate the country."

Representatives from the Travel Advisory Board stated that the ban will be extended if necessary.

UAS Reveals Future of Defence Technology

A laser weapons system that can shoot down two drones at a distance of over a mile has been demonstrated by the Defence Contractor: Union Arms and Systems.

The partially state-owned defence firm used the high-energy laser equipment to shoot fast-moving drones at a distance.

The system, which uses two laser weapons, was also used to cut through a steel girder a kilometre away.

Both the 50kW and 30kW laser weapons system used radar and optical systems to detect and track two incoming drones, the company said. The nose-diving drones were flying at 50 metres per second, and were shot down when they reached a programmed fire sector.

The company also reveled an adaptation of their Gladius vehicle, complete with a turret-mounted laser - albeit with a 30kW version.

Weather trials

The weapons system locked onto the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by using radar for a rough approximation of the location of the targets, then fine-tuned the tracking using an optical system.

The high-energy laser system was used to cut through a 15mm-thick steel girder, and to shoot out of the air a steel ball designed to mimic a mortar round.

The company has tested the laser system in a variety of weather conditions, including snow, sunlight, and rain.

A number of governments and defence firms are in the process of developing weapons that use or incorporate lasers - but UAS is one of the first to publicly announce such a development.

As long as there are people agreeing for it, there will be vehement disagreement against it.

Today, the government of Dashgrinaar has completed it's reconstruction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with it's new formal title being "The Ministry for Foreign Policies and Affairs, and the Voice of the Queendom." The new policy, and foundations of the Ministry, have been rewritten in the Axiom of Truth:

All nations do the best for their people under the right circumstances. The job of the people is to give them the circumstances to do that. Our job is to promote these circumstances, and make sure our nation does what is best for the people of the world. By building allies, we can help people throughout our world. Our allies are the base of our world.

As Grace Empyr, Director of Foreign Affairs and Speaker of the Queen, was unavailable for comment, so we emailed her asking, "Why the reformation, and the effects of it?" She responded with the following.

The government belived it was time to make the Ministry more powerful, more independent, so we formulated this plan. None of the relations will be changed. The only thing changing is the Ministry itself. Also, we are relocating the Ministry itself and all embassies to the Château Fantsiqué, in the middle of Lake Ienempyr, out of the government center. All the staff in the Ministry and maintenance will be given houses on the island.

The government recently bought and refurnished and renovated the Château Fantsiqué, from the Historical Society for a total project estimate of 720 million dollars. Most of the castle is open to the public, and is about a 20 minute drive from the government center. Also certain property around the base of the castle is being sold as real estate.

Welcome to LBC, we have breaking news from the session of the Joint Parliament tonight. We begin with Dziedzica Euphemia's speech on the LGBT marriage bill. Her Highness' speech focused on how in the past and in the present, the LGBT community has been oppressed and discriminated against and, "I will not stand by and watch any of my people suffer due to their sexuality, ethnicity or skin color." Her speech comes as a shock to many people. The royal family, throughout the years have rarely made their political opinions known and no one, other than the monarch, has given a speech to the Parliament. Voting on the bill is planned to start later tonight.

Deputy Prime Minister Jonas Žemaitis has called for the resignation of Prime Minister Margaret Kluzik-Rostkowska saying, "The Prime Minister has embarrassed our country by getting drunk at the State Dinner were she proceeded to have a fight with the Queen of Jagellion and insult her own Deputy and the delegate from Kamieniec. She has tarnished our country's reputation and has therefore lost the confidence of her party, coalition and citizens." Mr. Žemaitis also threatened that the Nationalist Party might rebel and break away from the governing coalition if the Mrs. Kluzik-Rostkowska did not resign which in turn would cause a snap election. Along with Mr. Žemaitis, President Algirdas Butkevičius, Opposition Leader Augustinas Voldemaras, Majority Leader Rokas Žilinskas have all called for and Minority Leader Leonas Bistras have all called for the resignation of Mrs. Kluzik-Rostkowska. If Mrs. Kluzik-Rostkowska was to resign it is estimated that a large portion of Centrist voters would in turn vote Nationalist.

I.D. Airbase Nears Completion

The Vancouvian Congress announced today that its military airbase on the I.D. is "almost 100% complete."

General Harold Storm said in a briefing, "I'm just glad that I can stop babysitting these engineers and finally ship back out to sea, even if we will just be stationed in port, it's much better than hiking through mud and sand and putting up fences."

The airbase, however, is much more than just a few fences. Complete with two intersecting runways, a fueling depot, a dock and unloading station, and multiple barracks and other buildings, the I.D. base is a colossal investment in both time and money.

The LGBT Bill passed through the Sejm today with 120 (73.62%) members voting aye and 43 (26.38%) voting nay. The bill passed through the Senate with 38 (70.37%) members voting aye and 16 (29.63%) voting nay. Dziedzica Euphemia has announced that she will be funding a LGBT Pride Parade in Vilsaw to commemorate the passing of the LGBT law. Leader of the Wodka Party, Filip Adwent has criticized Her Highness calling her, "The spawn of satan... The anti-christ... I will not be loyal to the devil's servant."

Members of the Loyalist Party have split off and have formed the Konservatorius Party. Members say that the Loyalist Party, "Is too out of touch with the population of today and the Mr. Voldemaras was not going to allow the party modernize." It is expected that the Konservatorius Party will gain a large following especially with many of the Centrist voters looking for new parties to join.

Prime Minister Margaret Kluzik-Rostkowska has issued her resignation to Grand King Casimir as the Prime Minister and Leader of the Centrist Party. Grand King Casimir accepted her resignation and he has called for a snap election due to,"The loss of confidence in the governing coalition." Jonas Žemaitis has replaced Mrs. Kluzik-Rostkowska as Acting Prime Minister. Election are to be held later this month.

Owinn Troops Pulling Out of the I.D.

After less than two weeks in the International District, B Company, 100th Battalion of the 1st Rifle Regiment will begin to depart for home immediately. While they planned to stay in the district longer, recent rumblings along the borders of the Owinn ally Kamieniec Podolski have alarmed the ROA's top brass. As a result, B Company received the order to withdraw without delay.

The previously missing athlete Gaela Marrek herself has declined to explain what caused her to go missing and what happened during that time she was gone. Also, how she got back to us and her fellow athletes at the Olympics. There are theories on the internet that she could have been rescued in a special forces operation, possibly by or involving those from Kamieniec Podolski. Thus far there have not been any confirmations from either the governments of Shanowinn nor Kamieniec Podolski, nor the government of Doppler, the host of the Olympics. Union Proposes Nuclear Fusion Plant

The Franco-Albion Union today announced it would be seeking international partners in a joint project to plan and construct a Nuclear Fusion plant.

The Union is seeking partners to help raise an initial $10 billion from international governments and companies to fund the planning and construction of a Nuclear Fusion plant.

The project, known as the Global Experimental Thermo-Nuclear Reactor (GETR), aims to further develop Nuclear Fusion technologies and ultimately pave the way for efficient cold-fusion.

GETR will initially have to successfully get nations on board to help fund and construct the project, as well as organize the responsibilities and contributions to the total project.

A location for the plant has not yet been decided, but will depend upon the discussions with member nations - though Union Ministers have suggested upon its placement in neutral I.D.

Officials from the potential consortium are set to begin discussion terms "sometime soon", according to Union Ministers.

When asked why to go down the international route, Union Ministers admitted that GETR was an "ambitious project" with "high risks"; nevertheless the rewards "will be unlike anything seen for generations".

Nuclear fusion taps energy from reactions like those that heat the Sun.

Nuclear fusion is seen as a cleaner approach to power production than nuclear fission and fossil fuels.

Unlike Nuclear Fission, there is no hazardous nuclear waste and the potential risk for nuclear incidents and radiation leaks are much lower.

Professor L. Ayton, head of Physics at the University of Isenburg stated that the project could change the course of humanity.
"Rapid construction of GETR will be a major step in the development of fusion as a potential large-scale source of electricity that will not contribute to climate change."

And the Union's science minister, Lord Morrison, said: "I am delighted that the Union is leading the way with the GETR proposals and I sincerely hope the global community sees its potential."

"Making fusion a viable energy source for mankind is an enormous scientific and technological challenge. The GETR project is an important step in making energy from fusion a reality," he told the FABC News website.

Cold-Fusion has always been the joke of the scientific community as the technology has always been "30 years away" for the past 60 years.

However, if GETR gets the international support it seeks, the world would benefit greatly from the technology.

It would be the first fusion device to produce thermal energy at the level of conventional electricity-producing power stations, and would pave the way for the first prototype commercial power station.

In a fusion reaction, energy is produced when light atoms - the hydrogen isotopes deuterium and tritium - are fused together to form heavier atoms.

To use controlled fusion reactions on Earth as an energy source, it is necessary to heat a gas to temperatures exceeding 100 million Celsius - many times hotter than the centre of the Sun.

The technical requirements to do this, which scientists have spent decades developing, are immense. But the rewards, if it can be made to work successfully, are extremely attractive.

One kilogram of fusion fuel would produce the same amount of energy as 10,000,000 kg of fossil fuel.

Fusion does produce radioactive waste but not the volumes of long-term high-level radio-toxic materials that have so burdened nuclear fission.

Some green groups criticised today's announcement as a waste of money. They are doubtful whether GETR will ever deliver practical technologies.

"With 10 billion, we could build 10,000MW offshore wind farms, delivering electricity for 7.5 million European households," said Ian De Grumppe of Greenpeace International.

"Governments should not waste our money on a dangerous toy which will never deliver any useful energy. Instead, they should invest in renewable energy which is abundantly available, not in 2080 but today."

Today, Judge Judy Tenner reported to police that her daughter went missing. She searched the entire house for 8-year old Rosy. The Supreme Judge announced that, for now, she must resign till her poor old daughter is found.

Joseph Goering Supports GETR

Today, in a speech, Joseph Goering announced that GETR(Global Experimental Thermo-Nuclear Reactor) is going to get money(300M) donated from the country.

Many citizens worried that this would effect Argus pollution-wise due to Franco-Albion, Miklania, and Polar Svalbard nations who are not on Argus, proposed putting it in the I.D. However, Joseph is proposing they put in Franco-Albion, the country which came up with the idea. More information on the GETR can be found here.

First Skaralandian Troops Arrive in Havensburgh

Skaralandian troops are seen walking out of Skaralandian Air Force cargo planes at rhe Concord International Airport, carrying unloaded weapons, another cargo plane is seen unloading a tank. Skaralandian troops are part of an operation to supoort the Havensburghian government in a civil war. As of today there are 1,000. In a couple of days their numbers will be 1,000 more.

"The troops here are ready for anything, they've been training six months for this operation." says Brig. Gen. Jakob Victorsson.

It is unknown how long these troops are to remsin in Havensburgh, it may be quick, and it may even be long, nobody knows.

As the on going crisis in Havenburgh's capital, Concord, escalated, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Snookums Snookers sent in the 89th Elite Battalion and Bravo Commandos, to help quash the rebellion led by Michael Ambrose and Christina Perri. High Chancellor Tias Oroki is still within the Castle and is reported to be, quote "Stuffed more than a Christmas turkey after eating many fine feasts"

A New War Game Out, Not For Civilians!

The Royal Skaralandian AB showcased their new OPSIM, a war strategy/simulation game to used by army commanders to test their performance in battle, a virtual one that is.

OPSIM has interactive units that reapond to one another, sort of like a video game. The units vary in size and capabilities. OPSIM is expected to be used by commanders tnroughout the army by mid winter this year as game develpoment is not currently finished. New features are yet to be introduced into the game.

It is unknown whether other countries have an interest in this game to sharpen their skills in commanding troops, but the Skaralandian Army is already on contract to buy this product.

Defense Forces Deployed to Evacuate Peanuta's Citizens from Domanania

Five days after the riots in Domanania claimed the lives of 15 citizens of Peanuta, Nutty defense forces have finally arrived to facilitate the ongoing evacuation.

Two army transport ships and thirteen coast guard cutters have been dispached to assist with the evacuation. In addition, 1,000 civil guard troops have been sent to the airports and seaports where the evacuation is taking place. Civil guard forces are also securing the Nutty embassy in Domanania, which was attacked during the riots.

These measures come several days after the Department of Foreign Affairs contracted the Nutty Shipping Company and Passages Air & Sea to send planes and ships to begin the evacuation. Ienempyr International, Inc., an airline company based in Dashgrinaar, has also offered to transport affected citizens for a 50% discount. Dashgrinaari citizens were also targeted in the riots, resulting in ten deaths.

The riots were instigated on August 21 by a radical religious group known as the New Doman Order. Foreigners suspected of being Pumkinists or of other non-Doman religions were targeted indiscriminately.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has estimated that over 4,000 Nutty civilians were in Domanania at the time of the riots.

The Travel Advisory Board has lifted the travel ban to Domanania and replaced it with a travel advisory warning. While travel to Domanania is now permitted, TAB officials have warned that the nation is still dangerous to Nutty citizens and emphasized that travelers visit the country at their own risk.

Chancellor Brown commended Doman officials for their "excellent cooperation" in response to the riots. However, some critics have noted that the Doman government took very few steps to prevent the riots despite previous warnings.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has revised its official statement regarding the current situation in Domanania. The new statement now reads:

"Religious radicals in Domanania have attacked and killed 15 Nutty citizens in Domanania. After taking several days to assess the situation, the Travel Advisory Board has lifted the ban on all Nutty travel to Domanania, but strongly cautions travelers to take note of the danger present at this time. Nutty citizens that choose to visit Domanania do so entirely at their own risk. Nutty citizens currently in Domanania are advised to contact the Nutty embassy there for information on how to vacate the country."

Unrest and Evacuations

Following the riots five days prior and the arrival of Nutty Troops, the New Doman Order and its followers begin to grow uneasy.

After 1,000 Nutty troops and several military grade water vessels arrived at Doman ports, many supporters of the radical group took it into their own hands to see the evacuees off. The troops were dispersed to 2 Airports (undisclosed at this time) and began to see off hundreds of Nutty and Dashgrinaari citizens. They threw bottles, stones and other dangerous objects as the fleeing citizens came to the airports under heavy military escort.

The first few planes have seen off a good amount of citizens to minimize any further casualties. Although this did not stop about 50 people from trying to rush the barricades and attack fleeing citizens. No deaths followed the brazen attack but roughly 86 people were arrested as the rest scattered.

At the other airport, a mob rushed a single plane but were dispersed with fire hoses and non-lethal rounds. 20 were arrested.

Until the evacuations are over, one airport shall be closed to all traffic and another shall only have parts of the airport closed off. And both airports shall be under Nutty and Doman military watch.

Skaralandian Patrols Begin in Havensburgh

Days ago Patrols have been initiated by Skaralandian troops, many patrols receiving contactfrom enemy rebles. Small attacks on the Concord International Airport have been reported, all attacks have been repelled. Skaralandian troops are to supoort Havensburghian troops in peacekeeping and other related operations in Havensburgh.

As of thia week there are about 2,000 Skaralandian troops in Havensburgh. They are stationed in defense, aid and peacekeeping roles.

Hybrid dog-muskrat animals have been running rampant through the countryside! They have been eating farmer's crops and tipping people's trashcans over. The government has issued an extermination campaign to rid Grampsistan of these creatures. Because of this, there has been riots in the capital, Ba Sing Sae. Animal activist Laura inghowall says, "we should study these animals, not abuse and kill them!" However, not every one agrees. "These abominations need to be exterminated!
