Foreign Affairs : Government discuss about joining SSTO

Another hot topic within the government is the country's potential membership of the SSTO, a South Sea military organization formed by Mairland and Verska. The SSTO was founded in 2003 by Mairland and Verska to increase military co-operation between the two countries and foster the economic development of both countries, the latest SSTO action was the joint naval exercise on February 27.

Platina's potential membership in the SSTO could bring the country greater economic growth and protection with competent allies. The purchase of new equipment, especially naval, and the economic help of Verska and Mairland would greatly benefit Platina, on the other hand, it would mean a reduction of national sovereignty. The government, led by the UNP, Partido Liberal and Democracia Platina, is in favor of the country's entry into the SSTO, while the opposition, made up of nationalists, populists and a fraction of the left, are absolutely against entry into the SSTO.

To decide what course of action will be taken in foreign policy, a vote will be taken in the Assembly to decide whether the country will join the SSTO or not. The vote will start the 2nd April and the results will be made public to the country on the same day

Lesvan State recognizes the People's Union of Rezreks as the sole legitimate leadership of Rezreks

In light of the ongoing civil conflict in Rezreks, which was recently reminded of by the latest news of an insurrection against the ruling monarchy in that country, the Lesvan State, as a country itself born out of a Revolution against tyranny, has decided to support fellow Revolutionaries in the Liberation Struggle against tyranny in Rezreks.

Central Social Carto of the Lesvan State has voted to recognize the People's Union of Rezreks as the legitimate leadership of all Rezreks. This decision was made after multiple Social Cartos across the Lesvan State voted to recognize the People's Union of Rezreks, before the main assembly in the form of the Central Social Carto of the Lesvan State made that same vote, solidifying the official national position. Marshal Iuna Scadi, Secretary General of the Central Social Carto, the Overseer of the Revolution, and the National Leader, was present during the vote. The Marshal joined the ovation that broke out after the final vote was made.

After the vote to recognize the People's Union of Rezreks, Marshal Iuna Scadi gave a speech:

"We recognize the cause for which the people of Rezreks are fighting for and we relate to it. We see the People's Union of Rezreks as a force best representing those just ideals that the oppressed nation is struggling for against the tyrannical monarchy. The recognition our people have given today, which is the recognition of the People's Union of Rezreks as the sole legitimate leadership of Rezreks, means that we now see the People's Union as the only real leadership of the entire country of Rezreks.

At the same time, in the event that the territorial integrity of the sovereign state of Rezreks is not a priority and that the liberation struggle does not managed to win on all of the country's territory, we will also be willing to recognize the People's Union of Rezreks as an independent entity, in case the revolutionaries decide that there is no choice, but secede and part ways with the rest of Rezreks, where other parts of their country are unable or unwilling to support the Revolution. That is likewise a situation we are going through ourselves right now here in Lesva with Nationalist Socialist-controlled parts of the region of Acean and with the Throngist-controlled Cane Islo. Therefore, in case the People's Union of Rezreks moves in the direction of being an independent state, we will support that to.

However, idealism is the primary life force that exists within us, therefore, we will hope that a liberated revolutionary Rezreks as a whole sovereign state, without territorial disintegration, is a possibility, however, that is ultimately not our decision to make. Right now, in our eyes, the People's Union is the official legitimate revolutionary leadership of the people of Rezreks and we call on the monarchy to end its' tyrannical advance and the use of force against the people."

Ousted President Puicu Gevin says GLPRIE does not plan to ask The League of TWI to inspect Lesva for biological weapon manufacturing

Following the publication of the Final Report by the Commission on Fever Papers chaired by ex-Speaker Jer Headar, which ended up concluding that the Throngist regime in Lesva had the capability to manufacture biological weapons and this capability may have been taken over by the current new regime of Marshal Iuna Scadi in Lesva, the question has remained since - what should be done about these revelations?

The now-disbanded commission's report was not based on flawed investigation, interpretation or even falsification with the goal to discredit. The commission made its' Final Report based on information shared by the government of Kravato, which itself received a secret Intelligence File from the Scadi regime in Lesva, transported to Kravato by Dr. Gavi Salda, which revealed that the Throngist regime used virus samples of the Sapli Fever acquired in Kravato to manufacture a biological weapon, which was used to assassinate Taica Berislavic by his own associates within the regime, who saw Berislavic as a foreign agent, specifically a Balniki one. The information in the file and the commission's own report concluded that the Throngist regime used samples to only create a single biological weapon with no official plans to manufacture more and create an arsenal. Nevertheless, the conclusion was made that Lesva, whether under the Throngist regime or the Scadi regime, had the capability to create such weapons. The Final Report itself called on the international community to take note of this revelation. However, the question still remained about what should actually be done with this information and what course of action should be taken.

Ousted President Puicu Gevin, who heads the Government of the Lesvan Presidential Republic in exile (GLPRIE) and has recently been dealing with a domestic reshuffling within GLPRIE which has left him the only remaining veteran official within the structure, has addressed the issue. Gevin returned to his nationalist and libertarian roots by proclaiming that the Final Report's information did not mean that foreign institutions or international and supranational bodies now had to take action and organize an inspection effort to make sure that there were no biological weapons being made in Lesva.

Ousted President Gevin, who this time appeared no longer in military clothing or in a vlog from an unknown location, but at a meeting of the government-in-exile in Dociara headquarters, has stated:

"We had never let go of the principal of as much sovereignty for our country and our people without "supervision" from international jurisdiction. We are not seeking to become a pariah that seeks isolation and rejects cooperation, but we do not see Lesva as a country that should be nurtured by globalist structures in resolving its' issues. Yes, we recognize that biological weapons could be considered an international issue because it has direct influence on international security and common humane rules, but we should lead the charge in resolving this issue, while other could only assist us, if we appeal to them. That has been my personal principle and the principle of our political party ever since we won our first election in Lesva a lifetime ago. We do not think that we should run to The League to ask for them to send inspectors to our country, which is currently under the control of another illegitimate regime, points fingers and tell them to clean up. In the end, it is our home and even though we do not control our home right now, because it is taken hostage by an illegitimate regime, we should lead the charge at reclaiming that control. We will reclaim power and we will be the ones, who will voluntarily dismantle any possible mechanisms for nuclear, chemical and biological weapon manufacturing."

Critics have suggested that the recent resignations of veteran democrats and liberal-leaning officials from leading positions in GLPRIE, who may have been the ones swaying ousted President Gevin towards cooperation with democratic countries and international institutions, meant that this approach may no longer be as strong in GLPRIE, even though the body may not be looking to pull back from cooperation either. Gevin, as the sole most influential figure in GLPRIE now, has the power and capacity to return to nationalist and libertarian roots he and his political party came from, which includes insisting that Lesva and Lesvans did not need "supervision" from international institutions and needed to resolve their own issues, including the one revolving around biological weapons.

In a move seen as a direct response to rival Sovereign Holding's recent acquisitions, Resubank, another one of Saint Ardor del Alba's leading banks, has announced a significant investment package targeting Platina's agricultural sector. This latest flurry of purchases, dubbed the "Bread Basket Bailout" by financial commentators, highlights the intensifying competition among Ardoran banks to capitalize on the Western Isles' food security initiatives.

The League of the Western Isles' Resolution 31, which calls for the creation of a dedicated Food and Water Security Agency, has ignited a feeding frenzy amongst regional investors. Ardoran banks, long known for playing an outsized role on the international stage despite the nation's small size, have been at the forefront of the investment surge. Resubank's investment appears to be a calculated response, aiming to establish a foothold in Platina's agricultural sector before the competition can, securing their own slice of the agriculture pie.

However, Platina presents a unique challenge. The nation boasts a promising agricultural sector, but its economic foundation is precariously balanced. Resubank's basket this time targets three key players: PESNAL (Pescado Nacional), the nation's leading fishing conglomerate; Rioplatinse, a major cattle breeding corporation; and ENPA, a diversified agricultural enterprise. The exact size of the investment remains undisclosed, but analysts estimate it to be a significant sum, potentially in the hundreds of millions of Lágrimas.

Of course with the commmends came the condemns, especially from the Populists of the PNU, leaded by Carlos Alvarado, and the less bigger Enterprises, fearing that this could lead to a Cabala of these three and a monopolization of the market.

With these new investments, our Agricultural Sector has the possibility to impose itself as a pillar in the National Economy, but only time will tell us if it will actually become true or not.

Vote to join SSTO has 67% yes : Platina makes an official request to join SSTO

The Vote to join SSTO in the Assembly passed with the 67% of votes in favor to join. While the moderates and liberals voted to join, the populists and the nationalists voted against, with Carlos Alvarado attacking President Saenz himself, accusing him of being a " Globalist Puppet".

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luis Petri, made an official request to join to the SSTO.

Minister Petri commented on the situation : " we can finally co-operate with our neighbours and guard the stability of the Southern Sea Region, about the argument, Rezreks is in a state of civil war and i think our combined forces should intervene to enforce the Peace in the Region "

Platina to Join SSTO, Strengthening Ties With Verska and Mairland

Earlier today, the Ministry of Defence announced the request from Platina to join the Southern Sea Treaty Organization (SSTO), with the announcement implied that Platina's request is to be accepted. The presidium—held jointly by the External Affairs Minister of Verska and the Foreign Minister of Mairland— has not given any official words regarding it, but it is safe to say that the request by Platina is as good as accepted. We do not know the exact reason why the announcement was made by the Ministry of Defence, rather than the Ministry of External Affairs. Still, the new addition to SSTO will hopefully strengthen ties between the three countries in the Southern Sea.

The SSTO itself was established in 2003 between our nation and Mairland, which both nations have a long history of almost one millennium. Despite the newest war between us and Mairland in 1930s, the period of detente and the realization of powerful foreign threats push both nations to establish this organization. With the addition of Platina to SSTO, it is expected that the SSTO will be much more reckoned in the Southern Sea.

The Ministry of Defence, who made the announcement, did not say much regarding the relation between Rezreks' civil war and Platina's request to join SSTO. The speaker from the ministry only provides an ambiguous sentence, "That is the matter of which it should be discussed extensively between SSTO's members, actions of a sub-regional organization can make a huge impact on a country in that sub-region." It is also unclear if there will be changes to SSTO's provisions and structure.

In today's edition of the Cary Post, my colleague and longtime friend Kenneth Braith interviewed incumbent Prime Minister Peter Hall in the Prime Minister’s office at the Renetian Executive Building in downtown Cary, on several different topics, including but not limited to domestic and foreign policy. The following is a transcript of the interview that will air on RNN at seven thirty standard Renetian time.

(A camera team from the Renetian News Network gets the cameras ready for recording as Braith reviews his notes for the interview one last time. Once the cameras are prepared, a prerecorded message introducing the interview's topic plays. Prime Minister Hall enters the room in a black three-piece suit with a white dress shirt and a navy blue tie and makes his way to the desk. Hall proceeds to shake hands with Braith after he rises from his seat the two begin their conservation still standing)

Hall: I find it surprising we have not met before, considering you are one of Renet’s most prominent journalists alongside your good friend Kevin Smith.

Braith: You know Kevin?

Hall: For a little over a decade now. I first met Mr. Smith after a press event at the Defense Ministry during my service as commander of the Surface Fleet. He asked me if I still supported President Davis even as his popularity had plummeted. I replied that I never claimed to support him. He was still commander-in-chief at the time if you remember.

(Hall sat down in the chair behind his desk while Braith sat back in the chair across from the Prime Minister.)

Braith: I have to ask, sir: Did you ever support him?

Hall: No, I voted for Thomas Michaels in 2006 and Peter Jefferson in 2010. I was a registered independent throughout my service in the Navy up until President Nanney tapped me to serve as Navy Minister, which was when I finally joined the United Republican Party. Even then it was mostly to placate the hyper-partisans in the Assembly.

Braith: What made you accept the premiership?

Hall: The same reason why I joined the Navy. To serve Renet.

Braith: Now let’s talk politics, Prime Minister. There have been reports that you’ve been planning on resigning from your office. They cite your bout with pneumonia as the primary driver. Is that true?

Hall: No, not at all. I have no intentions of resigning as of now. I am old, to be sure, but I have faith that the President can choose any number of qualified successors if I do suffer any further health troubles.

Braith: What do you consider your finest accomplishment when it comes to domestic affairs as Prime Minister?

Hall: I would say the Environmental Act of 2022. I say that act in particular simply because it finally provided a mechanism to clear the toxic waste dumps outside of Cary and Lewis that had been allowed to grow unchecked in blatant defiance of our environmental regulations. The provision for a National Marine Park was simply a bonus.

Braith: How do you see domestic affairs in Renet for the next few years?

Hall: The economy has been good for the last few years and there are no other pressing matters to take care of as of yet, though you can rest assured once there is a problem that must be addressed we shall immediately move to solve it.

Braith: Moving onto foreign affairs, what do you think of Resolution Thirty-One? The one that was recently approved by the Assembly?

Hall: I think it was one of the most agreeable Resolutions the League has voted on in recent years. I support it without any preconditions since it has a noble goal.

Braith: What do you think of the recent situation in Lesva?

Hall: I have very little faith that this new regime is going to be any better than the Throngists it overthrew. It is a military dictatorship by nature and that is the only difference between it and the Throngist regime. It will most likely still rely on relentless repression of civil liberties and the squashing of any organized calls for democratic reform by force to maintain its power.

Braith: What do you think will happen now that the Throngist regime has fortified itself on Cane Islo?


Hall: Nothing good. Either the new regime seizes Cane Islo by force and completes its victory over the Throngists-or Cane Islo becomes an independent country under Throngist stewardship. This would allow it to serve as a base for the Throngists, although much diminished in contrast to its previous grip over Lesva-to continue pushing its ideals regionally or even a base to reclaim its previous power if the new regime falters like its predecessor.

Braith: What do you think the best option to resolve this situation is in the future?

Hall: There is none, Kenneth, and you know that. Foreign affairs- much like the military sometimes needs to be resolved by picking the least bad option of many. In my opinion, a wait-and-see approach is best. I would only consider measures like diplomatic containment if Marshal Scadi decided to repeat the mistakes of his predecessors and start spreading his ideals through military intervention. I do not believe he will, because although Scadi is certainly a military dictator, the Marshal is no fool.

Braith: We’re out of time for this interview. I would like to thank you, Prime Minister, for this interview. It was a pleasure meeting you.

Marshal Iuna Scadi makes second visit to the Balniki Federation

Marshal Iuna Scadi, Secretary General of the Central Social Carto and the Overseer of the Revolution, has travelled to the Federation of Balnik, a fellow state of the United Federation of Gael and fellow member of the Eastern Tripartite. Marshal Iuna Scadi will be meeting with Dovesti Andre Chernobog, the Leader of the Balniki Federation in Rustov. This is the second visit by the Marshal abroad since the Revolution and the second visit to the Balniki Federation. Both foreign visits have been to Balnik.

The Marshal and the Dovesti will be signing the Combined Oversight Effort (COE) treaty. The treaty will be serving two major functions:

• Provide a legal status and a mandate to the peacekeeping military personnel forces of the Federation of Balnik on the territory of the Lesvan State's south-western Acean region occupieed by armed militia formations of the so-called "Protectorate of Acean."
  
  
• Declare a beginning of an observer mission by the military personnel forces of the Lesvan Revolutionary Army stationed along the demarcation line separating the part of the region of Acean controlled by the armed militia formations of the so-called "Protectorate of Acean" and oversought by the peacekeeping military personnel forces of the Federation of Balnik, from the rest of the Lesvan State.
  
  
• The military observers of the Lesvan State and the military peacekeepers of the Balniki Federation would be cooperating from across both sides of the demarcation line.

Marshal Iuna Scadi and Dovesti Andre Chernobog will also be discussing the arrest warrants that the Balniki Federation has issued for members of the former Throngist regime that ruled our country before the Revolution.

The Marshal would inform the Dovesti that those belonging to the former regime would not require separate arrest warrants from the Lesvan State itself, because the Lesvan State already reserves the right to arrest or neutralize those belonging to the former Throngist regime for violating the post-Revolutionary cease-fire agreements and launching an aggression to take over Cane Islo, as the Throngists recently did. The Marshal will be informing the Balniki Dovesti that the Lesvan State will be upholding the cease-fire launched over Cane Islo and will not be using force to extradite any of the former Throngist regime's officials in case they all relocate to or set foot on the currently Throngist-controlled Cane Islo.

However, in case the officials of the former Throngist regime set foot on the mainland, the Lesvan State will consider honoring the Balniki Federation's arrest warrant both as an ally on a bilateral basis and as a fellow member of the United Federation of Gael, which has a joint jurisdiction and makes the Balniki arrest warrants applicable in Balniki and Lesvan territories.

At the same time, Marshal Iuna Scadi will be honestly informing Dovesti Andre Chernobog that the extradition might not be automatically guaranteed, because the officials of the former Throngist regime are still Lesvan citizens and have committed crimes on Lesvan territory, which means that the Lesvan State should receive a priority to put them on trial. However, Marshal Iuna Scadi has spoken on this point before and stated that the Lesvan State does not have a court system, as it was abolished during the Throngist period, and that the Lesvan State does not have plans to reinstate it, as the Revolution seeks to remove traditional government, state institutions and bureaucracy, with the court system being part of that. This factor means that only the Balniki Federation would actually have the capacity to put the Throngists on trial.

SSTO SEEKS RESPONSE TO REZREKS WAR
Alliance considers how to engage with civil war in neighboring monarchy

SANAYI KENTI, VERSKA - The foreign ministers of Mairland and Verska expressed concern today over the civil war in the nearby Empire of Rezreks, as the Southern Sea Treaty Organization formally welcomed its third member on Thursday.

Meeting in Sanayi Kenti, Verska's third-largest city, to officially ratify the accession of Platina to the SSTO, Mairish foreign minister Robert Yourston and Verskan external affairs minister Halis Gazi held a joint press conference to discuss the developing conflict in the imperial state, Verska's closest geographic neighbor.

The Rezrekese civil war erupted on 17 March when anti-monarchists in the nation's military staged a coup d'etat against the reigning emperor, Arzokgor. The conflict has since widened, with numerous sectarian factions vying for control of the government or, in some cases, seeking to secede from the empire.

Initially silent on the coup d'etat, the Mairish government has now adopted a pragmatic tone. Sources within the Presidential Palace say that the Jarrett administration is concerned about economic disruption in the Southern Sea region caused by the Rezrekese conflict. The Mairish president has previously referred to the Rezrekese emperor as "a dark wizard".

Speaking in Sanayi Kenti, Mr. Yourston said that discussions about Rezreks within the SSTO were "ongoing". "We're discussing it on all levels, in both countries, and we're sharing intelligence at the alliance level," the foreign minister said. "The first priority of the Southern Sea Treaty Organization is to see peaceful dialogue occur between the hostile parties in Rezreks. The Rezrekese people have to determine their own future as a nation. Nobody wants to see this conflict keep spreading and more people getting killed."

Speaking on behalf of Verska, Mr. Gazi referred back to the Verskan defense ministry's previous statement regarding the capability of the SSTO to make a "huge impact" in Rezreks. He did not respond to a question from a Mairish reporter regarding reports that some parts of the Verskan public have favored Nurgozese partisans fighting to secede from Rezreks. According to sources within the SSTO and the Mairish delegation at the League, the Nurgozese are seeking to create an independent Islamic monarchy.

The Mairish and Verskan ministers were meeting to sign the formal ratification of the accession of the Republic of Platina, Mairland's island neighbor, to the SSTO. Mairland and Platina have cooperated in naval affairs in recent years, with Platina purchasing numerous Mairish-built warships.

At the press conference, Mr. Yourston welcomed the decision of Platina's national legislature to sign the SSTO Charter. "This will really open a new era of peaceful cooperation in our region. It's a great day for the alliance and for all our three nations," he said. "Under the amended charter, SSTO institutions are being modified to accommodate delegations from Platina." Mr. Yourston estimated that the process of incorporating Platina into the alliance would take "about three or four months."

The foreign minister also confirmed that the presidents of Mairland and Platina and the sultan of Verska would meet "sometime in 2024" at the first heads-of-state meeting of the expanded alliance.

Today, a spokesperson from the Ministry of External Affairs broadcasted the Southern Sea Treaty Organization (SSTO)'s stance on the raging civil war in Rezreks. "The delegation of the three nations, that is ours, Mairland, and Platina had agreed upon our stance regarding the civil war in the neighbouring nation, Rezreks. This sudden event of civil war affected not only those who lived in Rezreks, but also the surrounding area."

"We, therefore, condemn the civil war and particularly those who tried to flame it further, and call for an immediate ceasefire to allow for dialogue!" The spokesperson stated firmly. The place and date of the meeting between the delegates was not informed to the media as it was a closed meeting, but the spokesperson hinted that it happened earlier this day; somewhat close to the joint conference, but potentially happened afterwards.

Several economic experts worried about the civil war that happened so close to Verska, as it potentially disrupted the trade flow of vital goods such as irons. Moreover, the civil war in Rezreks supposedly has foreign power sponsored some elements of the civil war. Military and social experts have also spoken of the holes in Verska's defence in the case that the tinders of the civil war went to Verska. It is of huge importance that the Empire of Rezreks is in a state of peace again and the SSTO strengthened itself against external threats.

With the civil war going on for several weeks, most of the citizens petitioned for the government to aid their fellow Muslims living in Rezreks. While the government haven't responded, it is rumoured from the internal leak that there have been preparations to give aid. But, as with any rumour, it does not go into details. If government aid to the civil wars truly exists, it is most likely in the form of medical and food.

It is hoped that the dialogue for peace in Rezreks can be done, with SSTO's nation as mediators. The spokesperson then ended the broadcast with, "Peace is something so expensive to buy, but we have to remember that violence is not the payment for peace."

The Marshal addressed a lot of topics and issues, including the situation in Rezreks. With the countries of the Southern Sea Treaty Organization (SSTO) becoming engaged in looking for solutions to the conflict in their region, Marshal Iuna Scadi shared the Lesvan State's position on how peace can be brought about in Rezreks:

"There is no question that a cease-fire and peacekeeping efforts in Rezreks are all great initiatives that indeed should be considered. However, we are confident that lasting peace to Rezreks can be brought by the end of the monarchy's tyranny either by force or through peaceful negotiation. A cease-fire with no political solution will not bring peace, because to solve problem you need to find the root of the problem and that problem is the monarchy's tyranny. The civil war in Rezreks broke out as an uprising by the people of Rezreks against the tyranny of the monarchy there and obviously the monarchist forces fighting back against liberty-seeking people to retain oppressive control. Therefore, by that principle, the Lesvan State's sympathies are with the People's Union of Rezreks, the primary just force in Rezreks, which we have recognized as the sole legitimate leadership of Rezreks."

Economy : PESNAL and Rioplatense established new branches with the Resubank investments

the fruits of Resubank investments did not take long to arrive: After several negotiations with provincial governments and private contractors, the companies PESNAL and Rioplatense will establish new branches in the provinces of Abarri,Chaco , Nueva Castilla and Belmonte, in a total of approximately 22 PESNAL factories and 17 Rioplatense factories divided between the 4 provinces. A part of the aforementioned factories will be built in the province of Nueva Castilla, which, due to the unemployment crisis, has been favored by companies. The completion of this project was estimated for the end of 2024 and the end of 2025, when all factories will have entered the operational phase. Foreign Affairs : SSTO calls for a ceasefire in the Rezreks Civil War

In recent days, the SSTO, after our country's entry into the alliance, has focused on the civil war in the neighboring country of Rezreks, where protests against the monarchy led to a military coup and the outbreak of hostilities last 17th March. Platina, together with Verska and Mairland, supported the ceasefire and the diplomatic resolution of the conflict, mediated by the SSTO. Although rumors also speak of a possible military intervention planned by the SSTO and agreed with the Rezreks government, but there is not enough information to believe these rumors to be true or not.

While the SSTO countries were discussing the crisis, another non-SSTO country, Lesva, recognized the People's Union of Rezkreks, one of the factions involved in the civil war, as the only legitimate government of Rezreks and clearly expressed his support for the PUR through the speech of the Lesvan Dictator Iuna Scadi.

Foreign Affairs Minister Luis Petri responded to Scadi's statements in a press release :

" While we commend his concern for the Rezrekes conflict and his support for the SSTO-led peace and mediation operations, I, like my country, am against the overthrow of the monarchy and the removal of the imperial family, as they are now a fundamental part of Rezreks. It would be more convenient and useful to keep the monarchy, but reform the system in such a way that the demands of the revolutionaries are satisfied and the monarchy is preserved. Furthermore, I would like to add that the SSTO, as Rezreks is a nation in the South Sea, is already engaged in the issue and we will do everything possible to establish peace talks and mediate between the various factions involved. "

Parliament unable to form new coalition; Tovhar schedules early election for 22 May

Virtaz, Takiv - For the past few weeks, Parliament has tried to form a new coalition to succeed Tovhar's coalition government, and has not succeeded. Chancellor Tovhar, as the caretaker Chancellor, has scheduled an early general election for 22 May.

The election campaign has now begun, and the parties have 45 days to appeal to voters before Election Day. Current polling suggests that the NUP will be the largest party by a wide margin, with some polls suggesting that the NUP will get up to 40% of the vote. The incumbent PDR, by contrast, is struggling in the polls, with some current polling suggesting that they could lose their position as second-largest party to the National Liberty Party, which is polling at a record 21% of the vote, compared to the PDR's all-time low of 18%.

Even if an NUP-NLP government was formed, they would face obstruction by the opposition in the Regional Assembly, which does not have new elections until October. The current composition of the Regional Assembly does not give an NUP-NLP government a majority.

Fellow Compatriots on Cane Islo. In light of the current situation on our island, where the forces of the Throngist Revolution are acting to protect this land against the counter-revolutionary forces that currently control most of the mainland by ruling it from National Capital Saela, we are bringing the First Official Address from First Secretary of the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva, the Honorable Teca Viltin, to fellow compatriots on Cane Islo:

"Dear Compatriots, Revolutionaries, Brothers and Sisters,

I am addressing you with an update and clarification of the current state of affairs on Cane Islo.

As we had managed to reclaim Cane Islo from the counter-revolutionary forces in control of the mainland, we once again have the Government of the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva, the legitimate authority brought to power by the Saela Spring and the Throngist Revolution, being in control of at least one territory of our country. Even though we believe that this should be the legitimate state of affairs across the entire territory of the Throngist Republic of Lesva, including Cane Islo and the mainland, the current situation is that we have to adapt to what has already been achieved. The political goal is to make it clear that the Throngist government is effective on all of our country's land, including Cane Islo and the mainland, the fact is that we currently have the capacity to hold onto Cane Islo and we do not have a powerful enough force to have the Lesvan Throngist Republic's flag flying over the mainland as well. This recognition of fact has put us into compromise with the counter-revolutionaries on the mainland. There is a cease-fire in effect that currently interests us and interests the counter-revolutionaries on the mainland in order to avoid needless bloodshed of Lesvan against Lesvan. This cease-fire means the counter-revolutionaries will not currently advance against us, but it also means that we will not seek to advance on the mainland, which is another result of the compromise. To keep up this stability, I am personally remaining in contact with the counter-revolutionary leadership of Marshal Iuna Scadi on the mainland every day.

Right now, we are prioritizing the solidification of the restored legitimate order of the Throngist Revolution and the legitimate Government of the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva on Cane Islo so far. With myself as Head of Party, the Government of the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva now operates in Paita Sudi, which is a city fulfilling the functions of what would constitute a capital. Not all officials of our legitimate government are capable to continue fulfilling their functions, which they have been carrying out before disruption brought about by the counter-revolutionary events, which have resulted in the capture of the mainland by the forces currently controlling it and us eventually relocating to the Theocracy of Najimam before being able to return at least to this part of our mainland. Not everybody has been able to return for a number of reasons, some of knowledge to you. All your questions will be answered eventually.

The legitimate Government of the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva will continue on Cane Islo under the re-established Basic Statute of the Throngist Republic of Lesva. In addition to the Basic Statute, the Party would be introducing Provisions against anti-Throngist Activity and Proxy Activity in Support of the Counter-Revolutionary Saela Regime on Cane Islo, which would be measures, policies and actions by our government dedicated to curbing any risks destabilizing our current order from within or in favor of the counter-revolutionaries on the mainland.

In terms of questions about the political status and sovereignty, I am reiterating that under the Basic Statute of the Throngist Republic of Lesva, our government is the sole legitimate government of the entire territory of our country, including Cane Islo and the mainland, however, given that we are not planning to go to a full-scale war with the counter-revolutionaries in control of the mainland, we will be seeking to re-establish the legitimate order by political means. Right now, we de facto govern Cane Islo only and we will govern it separate from the counter-revolutionary order that exists on the mainland. However, this does not make Cane Islo independent from the mainland, as this is all still one country. I will repeat that we are the legitimate government of our entire country, including the mainland, but currently we will de facto focus on reinstating the legitimate authority over Cane Islo that we had liberated from the counter-revolutionaries.

Analysts suggest the Scadi regime in Lesva does not yet fully control the military and thus cannot retake the National Socialist-controlled Acean and the Throngist-controlled Cane Islo by force

Marshal Iuna Scadi, the current dictator of Lesva leading a personalist regime disguised as a direct people's democracy, is continuing to insist that his regime will not use force to retake the National Socialist-controlled part of the region of Acean and the Throngist-controlled island of Cane Islo, instead committing to a cease-fire verbally agreed on with his armed opponents and instead seeking to re-establish Lesva's territorial integrity diplomatically. Scadi is claiming that this strategy of avoiding a military solution is in order to avoid bloodshed between Lesvans on different sides.

Without completely ruling out the possibility that the fanatic Marshal Scadi is motivated by his own "twisted" version of patriotism and thus he indeed does not want to kill fellow Lesvans in the battlefield even for his own regime's total power, analysts are more inclined to believe that the Marshal is choosing cease-fire instead o militarily going after smaller and apparently weaker opponents for a number of reasons.

In the case of the region of Acean or rather the part of that region that is occupied by militia forces loyal to the self-proclaimed Nationalist Socialist regime there, analysts are stating that the Scadi regime is primarily deterred by the presence of Balniki peacekeepers in that territory, who originally intervened in Acean before the Underground Brotherhood rebel group led by Marshal Iuna Scadi took power in Lesva in the Lesvan Revolution against the one-party Throngist dictatorship. During the Revolution, when the Throngists were loosing grip on centralized control and absolute power, with the country apparently falling apart into many rivalling armed factions controlling different portions of national territory at the time, a large part of Acean came under the control of militia forces that would go on to form the Nationalist Socialist Party of Acean that today governs the occupied Acean territory under the iron first personalist rule of militia leader and Nationalist Socialist Party leader Tviri Ranca, the "Protector." Scadi had just visited Balnik for a second time, where he and Balnik's long-time ruler Dovesti Andre Chernobog even signed an agreement "legalizing" those Balniki peacekeepers and giving them a mandate with the consent from the Scadi regime, which may have been something that the Scadi regime had reluctantly agreed on, but recognized the lack of any other choice right now. There are questions about the link between whatever force, which emerged during the active phase of the Lesvan Revolution, that controls a large portion of Acean right now and the Balniki regime. The ideological similarities between the two and the self-proclaimed Nationalist Socialist regime in Acean modelling itself after the Nationalist Socialist regime of Andre Chernobog in Balnik suggests a possible hidden relation between the two, but nothing is official. Despite Scadi's Lesva and Balnik officially being allies after the breakdown in relations between Throngist Lesva at its' peak and Balnik, as well as Balniki forces in Acean formally being peacekeepers and not a combat force, there is still an inclination among Lesvan dissident analysts abroad to believe in Balniki peacekeepers or so-called "peacekeepers" in Acean as being the primary force deterring the Scadi regime from a military solution to the issue of loss of control over Acean.

As for the island of Cane Islo, that territory is not under the formal or informal, official or unofficial protection of any outside power like the aforementioned Acean is under the possibly unofficial protection of peacekeepers from Balnik. Cane Islo is entirely protected by the loyalist forces of the ousted Throngist regime that fought against the newly established military junta led by Scadi, which only later would transition into the self-proclaimed social democracy regime of today, once the Underground Brotherhood took power of the capital Saela, but not yet all of Lesva, as the Throngist loyalists fought to keep the Throngist regime's power in the post-Revolutionary conflict, which was stopped by the Sauron agreements and led to Throngist relocation to Najimam before they would launch a takeover of Cane Islo, which the Scadi regime failed to stop. In addition to the Thronglist loyalists, Cane Islo's second force are the pro-Throngist mutineers, who briefly joined the military of the new Scadi regime after the Revolution, but still remained loyal to the Throngist regime secretly. It was them, who began the initial pro-Throngist mutiny and unrest on Cane Islo, which allowed for the Throngist loyalist forces to intervene from outside and jointly take over Cane Islo alongside the pro-Throngist mutineers on the inside. Scadi's security forces lost their grip of Cane Islo after a relatively brief resistance. Despite the now-Throngist-controlled Cane Islo not having protection by an outside power, the Throngist loyalists are a larger force than the militias in Acean, especially when coupled with the pro-Throngist mutineers, who themselves are military officers that briefly switched back and forth in allegiance between the old and new regimes before going back to the old Throngist one. Thus, it is believed that they are able to protect Cane Islo against a potential attempt by Scadi to take it back by force, especially because the loyalists and the mutineers represent not just some regime that is smaller and just randomly appeared in a part of Lesva, like the Nationalist Socialist regime in Acean, but because the loyalists and the mutineers represent a regime that just relatively recently controlled all of Lesva. And that is another factor from where a lot of analysts are making the next key observation.

Most analysts come to a conclusion that even if Scadi wanted to take back Cane Islo or Acean or both, his regime does not have the capacity despite controlling the Lesvan mainland. Approximately half or even a "silent majority" of the military, the police and other state institutions in "Revolutionary Lesva" or Lesva under the new Scadi regime following the overthrow of Throngist rule, are believed to still be loyal to the old Throngist regime, whether it is genuine ideological reasoning or a result of brainwashing from the Throngist period. According to analysts, despite the Underground Brotherhood led by Scadi having taken power in Lesva by force, the transition from people believing in the old Throngist regime towards loyalty to the new Scadi regime has not been completed. Therefore, the new regime does not yet have formed state institutions loyal to it out of the ones that were loyal or were formed during the times of Throngist Lesva. And that includes the police and the military. There is doubt that the Scadi regime has enough loyal military power to outnumber and take Cane Islo without a civil war breaking out that would have half of the population in this early post-Revolutionary period possibly joining the side of the Throngist regime that has relocated to Cane Islo and currently controls the island. Therefore, the lack of capacity and the possibly retained Throngist influence in Lesvan mainland as well, are also factors seen by analysts as influencing why the Scadi regime cannot restore territorial integrity of Lesva under the supreme rule of its' new regime.

Marshal Iuna Scadi once again rejects biological weapon conspiracy theories

Marshal Iuna Scadi once again voices rejection of conspiracy theories about the Lesvan State having inherited the biological weapon manufacturing capability from the Throngist period

Marshal Iuna Scadi has just returned to the Lesvan State from the second official visit to our nation's main ally - the Federation of Balnik, which was marked by the signing of the Combined Oversight Effort Treaty, an agreement that authorized a legal mandate for the peacekeeping forces of the Balniki Federation in the militant-occupied portion of the region of Acean and authorized a military observer mission for the Lesvan State with the forces of the Lesvan Revolutionary Army carrying out an observer function along the demarcation line separating the occupied part of Acean from the rest of the Lesvan State and in collaboration with the Balniki peacekeeping forces.

Today, upon return to the national capital Saela, Marshal Iuna Scadi attended a gathering of the Social Carto in Saela, where the treaty and its' ratification by the Central Social Carto were discussed with gathered citizens. The discussion eventually moved towards the conspiracy theories projected by the old regime that proceeded the deposed Throngist regime, that the Lesvan State has inherited the capability to manufacture biological weapons from the Throngist regime that previously ruled our country and currently holds control of Cane Islo. The Throngist regime was indeed engaged in such activity, but now overseas-based enemies of our homeland are pinning such accusations on us based on information acquired from the archived Intelligence File from the days of the Throngist period, which we had passed to the government of Kravato.

Marshal Iuna Scadi rejected the conspiracy theories about biological weapons once again, as the Marshal has already rejected such theories once before. Marshal Iuna Scadi stated:

"The Lesvan State is not pursuing biological, chemical or nuclear weapons. Our resources, time and effort would never be used or I would even say wasted for the creation of something so horrific. Those are the games of the old regime and our new people's power leadership has nothing to do with it. Our aspirations after the Revolution are only to use all of our nation's capabilities towards the creating a better world. The Lesvan State believes in basing all our actions on the goal and principle of fighting for humane causes and supporting liberty."

Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr

In the month of Ramadhan we entered it with good motivation, in the month of Syawal we also enter it with another good motivation. The lessons we learnt while fasting for one month must not be wasted immediately in the next month. Among the lessons are patience, forgiveness, and determination. The day of Eid al-Fitr, the day in which we celebrate victory for completing fasting in Ramadhan, will come soon. With that, the celebration must not focus on launching fireworks, but on how we have turned ourselves into a better person.

The police will be cooperating with various organizations to make sure that the streets are safe as usual during Eid al-Fitr. Commercial trucks of various sizes have been told to stop during Eid al-Fitr to lessen the chance of accidents, since people will be travelling using small vehicles such as bikes to visit their relatives. For our readers, please make sure that the decline of trucks does not tempt you to push beyond the speed limit.

While most of the business is taking a day or two off, some are still open but at later hours, usually at noon. However, essential services such as hospitals and firefighter stations are still open, so citizens need not worry if an emergency occurs. While this downtime of the economy seems to have negative impacts on the economy of our nation, we have to remember that people cannot work all the time. This celebration provides much-needed relief, especially to those who do hard and dangerous work. Last year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs released a statistic that before and after Eid al-Fitr, the economic activity in our country rose to a level that it compensated the economic downtime.

Marshal Iuna Scadi says humanity should aspire to abandon the concepts of money, government and bureaucracy

Discussing Revolution-inspired plans for the future of the Lesvan State and suggestions to humanity, Marshal Iuna Scadi suggests to abandon the concepts of money, traditional government and bureaucracy

Marshal Iuna Scadi visited several sights across the National Capital Saela to oversee the reconstruction of the city from all the turbulent events from the events of the recent Lesvan history. There, the Marshal interacted with the people and discussed the further flourishing of the city and the entire country.

Afterwards, Marshal Iuna Scadi headed to a university, where the National Leader spoke at an auditorium before the gathered students, discussing with the upcoming generation of future leaders the values and principles of the Revolution and a vision of the Lesvan State and hopefully humanity going forward. The most intriguing part, that attracted the students' most engaged attention, was the discussion on the "material" side of life:

"In an ideal future society that the Revolution is going to build in the Lesvan State and maybe, hopefully will lead us to setting an example for humanity, will be to abandon certain man-made concepts that maybe have served a purpose upon their inception, but have since becomes hazardous, a poison to the human soul depriving it of idealism.

First such concept to abandon would be the concept of money. Yes, right now it may sound like an impossible goal to achieve with difficulty to imagine it in practice. However, the Revolution calls to generate the idea first and we, together, begin discussing and creating practical ways for making those ideas a reality. Money may have served humanity initially as a convenient transition from exchanging goods and services for other goods and services. But money has since become a source of all evil. It is a driver for greed, it is the cause of all corruption, war, crime, poverty and disease in the world, money tears families, friendships and communities apart, money forces people into labor that takes away their liberty for the sake of them acquiring money for survival and also as the only ways to satisfy their needs. Money is a justified driver for immoral and exploitative behavior in the name of profit. Money destroys the most important humane values in life and forces people to embrace their darkest instincts. Even moral people are forced to accept money as a "necessary evil" that cannot be replaced and which they have to be slave to for the lack of alternative. Well, the goal of our Revolution is to find ways how to liberate first our people and then hopefully humanity from this evil.

The second man-made evil for the Revolution to eradicate would be the traditional form of government. In the Revolutionary Lesvan State, we do not have the institution of government anymore - no posts, no offices, no political parties, no ballots, no elections, no campaigns. We have a direct social democracy. The people themselves rule our country through Social Cartos and Social Councils. We do not have to rely on greedy dictators or corrupt and dysfunctional elected representatives to rule us or administer us. We have no official offices or posts. We are all equal, we are Lesvan people governing ourselves and our country. We have no ulterior motives, but we are only looking after our own shared home, thus we have no platform for corruption or inequality. We are all a collective power and a collective form of self-governance. That is what the Revolution managed to achieve. Traditional form of government in its' bureaucratic state is rusty, slow-moving, exhausting, ineffective and broken machine that in combination with money or finances, likewise stimulates the worst elements of human nature. Greed from money is a gateway that leads to an intoxicating thirst for ultimate power through the government apparatus. The traditional form of bureaucratic government, whether it is an autocracy or a representative democracy, can never function in the name or interest of the people and thus, it needs to be dismantled. The people have to rule themselves and because the people will govern themselves for the interest of themselves and those around them, there will never be any ill-intent coming from them, because they will not be engaged in governing for any political goals or any type of self-interest, but they will be doing it solely for their own good, the good of those around them and the good of their country. And these kind of people are much more genuine, wholesome and more motivated to do an excellent job in their self-governance with no ill-intent, for they will be doing it for themselves and those around them, rather than being elected to represent others, while staying focused how to benefit themselves from the position of power they occupy. We have achieved such a form of people's power in the Lesvan State and maybe the rest of humanity will learn from our experience to not waste away their lives.

Another institution to be dismantled has already been mentioned here and that is bureaucracy. This concept is likewise intertwined with what I have mentioned before. Bureaucracy may have had a function in its' inception, but right now it is another mind-numbing ingredient in the poison of human soul together with such ingredients as money and political government.

These are the truths of the Revolution we should establish and then strive towards creating practical ways in how to make them a reality. Our Revolutionary Society and humanity in the long-run need liberation from money, political government and bureaucracy."

Breaking: Amestrris breaks silence on the Rezreksese Civil War

In a recent address to the nation, President Rhoam V'dama cautiously weighed in on the escalating conflict in Rezreks, emphasizing Amestrris' commitment to peace and stability in the region.

It's time for leadership in Lesva to be honest. WIth itself, and with the international community

DENAROW (NL, ANE) - There is an old Arnish saying - "Marje a slense bi hara kejra adare keitsara". It translates roughly in English to the idea that you should judge someone by how they order their lives and organise their personal matters. They are wise words to live by, in my humble opinion. They are even wiser words to take to heart in the domains of politics and international relations. Time and time again, the character of a government can be judged by the way they manage themselves. The best case for this argument in recent years is Lesva. Unfortunately for us Ahnslens, the conclusions of this thought experiment are not reassuring. Instead, it means we should expect our northern neighbour to continue down the same path of hypocrisy, manipulation and lies that we have unfortunately been getting increasingly accustomed to. Coup after coup in Lesva has installed leader after incompetent leader. The international community is increasingly tired with dealing with the fractured and complex struggle for power in Lesva. Such a situation leads to one inevitable conclusion: What is their biggest flaw? What is holding them back from any sense of improvement?

It's not properly ordering itself.

As is well-documented, the foundations of good government are simple. It is the will of the free people, prudently implemented for the benefit of generations past, present and future. None of these three exist in Lesva, and even less so under the Scadi regime.

Perhaps the most striking comparison to what occurs in Lesva is not all that far away from it after all, geographically speaking. Whilst the Ahnslens may not meet the definition of what a good government is - that is another discussion - they certainly know how to order themselves. It is clear how the Ahnslen Government feels about breakaway states, at home or abroad. They are internally consistent in how they act - they are to be trusted, with clearly visible values and predictability - a legitimate and competent force. This is the legitimacy that leaders in Lesva crave, yet will not get. Time and time again they prove themselves incapable of reaching this aim. Lesvan regimes have continued to refuse to order themselves and reject hypocrisy.

This is not to say the Ahnslens have done it right, far from it - but they do not suffer from the same hypocrisy as Lesva. Their values are internally consistent, to be trusted, and are clearly visible. That is the sort of nation that is a valuable member of the international community - one that can be relied upon. Lesva has proven again and again not to be this, largely because of the the incapacity of its leaders to show any integrity. This shortfalling is even more obvious under the Scadi regime, which is desperate to establish some kind of international legitimacy.


Marshal Scadi, who appears to be the leader in Lesva, is yet another sobering example of this incompetence. This can be shown through how he has managed an archetypal headache for leaders - the breakaway movement. When you consider the approach Ainslie has taken in comparison to Lesva, it becomes clear Scadi is leading another weak regime built on lies, propaganda and the desires of those who have happened to find themselves in power.


Take the Marshal's seemingly unlimited support for breakaway and secessionist groups - in Romancia, in Rezreks and basically in any opportunity the dictator gets to try and spruik his revolutionary credentials. Yet a stunning distinction can be made. The Marshal has no interest in supporting secessionist or breakaway groups in Lesva or in Balnik.

He is perfectly happy to support such entities. Just not on his own territory.

The Ahnslen Government, on the other hand, refused to even back the 'golden child' of recent breakaway movements. Romancia presents itself as a wealthy, competent and promising breakaway region from Baumes. It is the kind of regional administration that makes you check twice whether they a) are not actually independent and b) that they come from Baumes of all places - a place of great underdevelopment and corruption. Even during a war which saw clear human rights violations by the government in Baumes, Ainslie only got close to recognising Romancia's independence - and only if a small, narrow precedent could be established. It is reliable consistency. It is evidence of a government that people can rely on and be involved in, something that is worth contributing and paying some attention to.

It is the continuation of a policy well over a century old of being sharply against secessionist movements - largely born out of fears that northern Ainslie centred on Arborai or southeastern Ainslie centred on Watarah may think there is a pathway to ethnonationalist independence.

Yet for those in Lesva, it feels like there is a pathway. The Scadi regime is desperate, however, to make clear that the pathway is available - just not for Lesvans. The curious case of Tannaten demonstrates this. Tannaten is a city of about one million inhabitants and is quite possibly the largest major settlement near the Ahnslen border. It has seen plenty of protests and also is suspected to be a key location for a burgenoning pro-democracy underground resistance. Prior to the Marshal's near-comical victory lap through Lesva, there were calls for Tannaten and surrounds to breakaway from Lesva. Whilst the response by the central government was not heavy handed, very few know what happened in Tannaten that week - especially if you happen to be from Lesva.

With every leader that comes and goes in Lesva, its credibility as a nation-state decays, and its desperate attempts at legitimacy get even more obvious and sad. Years of coups, regime changes, internal leadership struggles… the welcoming of Balniki military personnel to prop up its increasingly weak regimes… it all emerges from a lack of legitimacy.

The next leader to be taken seriously in Saela will be the one who departs from the norm we've seen since the Saela Spring. It will be the one who either charts a liberal path for their people, something consistent with its wide-eyed and idealistic foreign policy. Or it will be one whose foreign policy increasingly reflects the authoritarian domestic policy at home.

That leaves the Marshal two options - course correct, or face becoming yet another temporary and irrelevant face in the international community.

Nothing less than purging the hypocrisy will even provide a hint of legitimacy at this point.

Ousted President Puicu Gevin, who leads the Government of the Lesvan Presidential Republic in exile (GLPRIE), has made what can only be described as an announcement about an upcoming announcement. At a meeting with GILPRIE's new younger Prime Minister Visim Gera and GILPRIE's Cabinet of Ministers, Gevin declared that he would be departing from GILPRIE's main headquarters in Dociara, Roendavar to visit the additional headquarters in Hachen, Biaten before going back to Dociara again. The announcement about visiting the second additional headquarters was followed by the aforementioned announcement about the announcement. Gevin stated that soon he would be declaring big changes and keeping the intrigue, he followers and supporters of himself and GILPRIE to "stay tuned."

Opinion: How incorrectly identifying a problem only worsens the issue

What do you do when you are confronted with systemic issues in your country? Do you attempt to root them out to handle the issue? Do you ignore all calls for reform and insist that the current approach is working even when it is failing? Or do you misidentify the problem and develop a completely asinine solution that is going to make things infinitely worse?

That second question is how the sunset on the Throngist regime in Lesva. The third question is what their new military dictator-Marshal Iuna Scadi-has done. Scadi saw the issues that brought down the Throngist regime. Rather than recognize what brought it down as an oppressive dictatorship that relied on repression to keep order at home until a series of failed military adventures collapsed the regime-Iuna Scadi blames the traditional method of government itself.

He has completely hollowed out the Lesvan government to address his misidentified problem with Social Cartos and Councils and forced his regime to rely on the military to maintain power in the absence of a functioning civil service. While I am always wary of a strong, centralized government-there is a need for a functioning federal government to provide for the common good and mediate internal disputes. Money too, is a necessary concept even though unfettered capitalism is just as bad as state control of the economy. Our hunter-gatherer days are long over, and bartering for certain goods can only get you so far.

The Scadi regime is thus built on an incredibly shaky foundation. The Marshal has already hinted at exporting his strange beliefs internationally, likely through military interventions, once he applies his “Revolution” to the people of Lesva. Thus her people are not likely to know any form of long-term stability in the next few years should Scadi repeat the mistakes of his predecessors- perhaps the Throngists could regain power over Lesva. After all, even they see how the central government is a necessary force in maintaining power-especially against a disgruntled population.
